Name: Agatha

Age: 3 years old

Breed: Bichon

Fostered in: South Wales

Health Conditions: None known

Aggie has settled well in her foster home, but still has lots of trust issues when it comes to humans but so wants to be loved. Aggie loves playing chase and hide and seek with her Foster mum.

People: Aggie was aggressive when she came to into rescue due to her fear of humans and new surroundings. Her foster family has worked hard to gain her trust but this an ongoing issue and Aggie will need lots of time and patience to learn to trust new humans. Aggie is very much at the beginning of her journey and we predict her progress will be slow but with the right approach and support Aggie can flourish into the dog she deserves to be.

Can live with children: No

Can live with cats: Aggie has shown no interest in the cat in her foster home.

Can live with other dogs: Aggie gets on well with other dogs and will need at least one resident dog in her new home.

In the home: Aggie only needs to use a crate while travelling in a car, she is not destructive and has shown not food aggression. Aggie does not play with toys; she can be left up to four hours with no problem.

Out and about: Aggie does not like having a lead attached initially and this is something that will take time to get her used to. Once the lead is on, she fine and bouncing to go out. Aggie is fine for the first 20 mins then her head starts to lower, and she becomes unsure but is not distressed just more wary. Aggie still does not like being touched when out walking as she is so focused on everything happening around her. Visiting the vets is distressing to Aggie.

Type of home: Aggie will need an experienced home who are prepared to gain her trust over a period of time make regular visits while she is in her foster home. At the moment life, people and the outside world is very scary to aggie and in the past, she has reacted badly due to fear. Aggie would need a home where someone is home most of the time. Aggie really wants to be loved and cared for but so far life hasn’t shown her people are to be trusted.

Potential adopters will be expected to travel to South Wales several times to meet her.

Aggie is fully vaccinated and up to date with flea and worming treatments.
