💙 ELEN – D2026-24 💙
8-Year-Old Blue Roan Cocker Spaniel
Fostered in Newport

If you’re looking for a gentle soul with the softest eyes and the waggiest tail… meet Elen.

Elen absolutely adores people. She melts into you for fuss, lives for head and ear scritches, and will happily curl up for a cuddle on the sofa. Her tail never stops wagging when she sees her fosterer — she just loves being loved. 💕

She can be a little nervous at first, but her confidence is growing every single day. From a shaky first arrival to happily greeting neighbours at the front gate, she’s proving she just needs a little time and reassurance. She’s currently not fully vaccinated so hasn’t been out on proper walks yet, but she’s very comfortable in her harness and lead and enjoys watching the world go by from the garden. We think she’ll love gentle daily walks once she’s ready.

🏡 Her ideal home:
• A quieter household
• Older teenagers or adults
• Someone around most of the day initially
• A calm, laidback dog friend
• A secure garden for sniffing adventures

Elen wouldn’t suit young children as she’s still a little skittish and doesn’t like being picked up or grabbed. She’s sensitive to sudden loud noises and wouldn’t enjoy a very busy home.

🐾 She’s almost house trained (just needs regular trips out and reassurance).
🐾 Sleeps beautifully through the night in a covered crate — with a little snore for company!
🐾 Loves snuffle mats, food puzzles and a good chew.
🐾 Has been left short periods with no issue, but time alone should be built up slowly.

She’s more energetic in the mornings (expect a happy little spaniel dance around your legs!) and enjoys regular naps through the day. She’s a proper nose-to-the-ground spaniel and would adore a good-sized garden to explore.

Elen is:
✔️ Neutered
✔️ 1st Vaccinations complete
✔️ Microchipped
✔️ Up to date with flea & worming
✔️ Comes with 5 weeks free Agria pet insurance

This sweet, loving little girl deserves a home where she’ll be cherished — and she will absolutely adore you right back.

🐾 ALBERT – D2026-22 🐾
3 Year Old Mini Schnauzer
📍 Fostered in Cardiff

Albert is looking for a very special home — one that understands that sometimes the quietest dogs have the most beautiful journeys ahead of them. 💛

Albert is a 3-year-old Mini Schnauzer who hasn’t quite figured out the world yet. He’s not naughty. He’s not difficult. He’s just unsure.

But every single day, he is trying.

He will now:
✨ Cuddle next to you on the sofa
✨ Follow his humans around the garden and back into the house
✨ Take himself off to his bed downstairs when he’s ready to sleep
✨ Go outside to toilet and let you know when he needs to
✨ Wear a harness (even if he doesn’t yet understand what “walkies” means!)
✨ Take treats ever so gently

He hasn’t learned how to walk on a lead yet — he’ll wear one, but being led is confusing. He hasn’t started playing. He’s still figuring things out. And that’s okay.

Albert is a quick learner and has already started to understand praise. Tell him he’s a good boy and you might just see a little tail wag. Those small milestones? They mean everything. 🥹

He will need:
• A calm, quieter home
• Dog-savvy teenagers only (no young children)
• An understanding adopter experienced with nervous/shutdown dogs
• A confident resident dog to help show him the ropes
• Patience to celebrate progress at his pace

He is fine with other dogs but tends to quietly ignore them. He eats separately due to greedy foster siblings and does so happily.

Not cat or small furry tested.

Albert doesn’t need someone to “fix” him. He needs someone who sees his potential, who understands that trust is earned slowly, and who will feel proud of every tiny breakthrough.

💔 STILL WAITING… CANDY 💔
Candy D2025-103 | 15-month-old English Bulldog

Candy doesn’t know she’s been overlooked.
She doesn’t know she hasn’t had a single application.
She just knows that when someone walks into the room, that person is definitely there for her.

Candy is the bulldog who should have had a queue.
Young. Loving. Funny. Brave.
But because she came into rescue with health issues (the kind far too common for bulldogs), she’s been quietly passed by.

And honestly? That’s heartbreaking — because Candy is pure joy on four very solid legs.

💗 Candy’s story
Since coming into rescue, Candy has had:
• Face fold removal
• Entropion surgery on both eyes
• BOAS surgery

She now breathes better, sees clearly, and is finally able to be the puppy she never got to be. She will need lifelong eye drops for dry eye and is rehomed as an assisted adoption for this — but she takes her medication like an absolute star. No fuss. No drama. Just patience and trust.

🐾 Who Candy really is
Candy is:
• A bulldozer with feelings
• A wiggle-powered cuddle machine
• Completely unaware of personal space
• Deeply in love with people

She’s less “dainty dog” and more “plops herself directly on your feet and sighs happily”.

She loves everyone she meets, is fine meeting dogs on walks, and would happily make herself your full-time footstool if you work from home.

🍖 The honest bits
Candy is young, enthusiastic, and food-obsessed. She:
• Needs to eat separately from other dogs
• Can be mouthy in play (bulldog teeth, bulldog enthusiasm)
• Would suit a home with older children only
• Hasn’t been tested with cats
• Plays with toys… sharing optional

She walks well on a harness (essential due to BOAS surgery), sleeps happily downstairs or on the sofa, and is housetrained/puppy-pad trained — though patience is needed while she settles into a new routine.

🏡 Candy’s perfect home
Candy doesn’t need perfection.
She needs commitment.

A home that:
• Will keep up her eye & skin routine
• Will continue her training and boundaries
• Understands bulldogs (or is willing to learn)
• Has someone around most of the day

She could live with an older neutered male dog after good introductions, but she’d also thrive as the only princess.

📍 Vet requirements (important)
Candy must live:
• Close to her current vets in Nantwich, Cheshire, or
• Be willing to travel there, or
• Be near Friends of Animals vets in Wales for continued treatment under the rescue’s care

📋 The practical bits
✔️ Vaccinated
✔️ Microchipped
✔️ Flea & worming up to date
✔️ Neutering agreement
✔️ 5 weeks free Agria pet insurance
✔️ Fostered in Stoke-on-Trent

Candy isn’t broken.
She isn’t “too much”.
She’s a young bulldog who survived a rough start and is ready to be loved properly.

If you’ve ever said “I don’t mind a bit of extra care — I just want a good dog”
Candy is your girl.

Please don’t let her keep waiting.

🐾 Meet Kovu – Your Big, Bouncy New Best Friend! 🐾
Kovu D2026-04 | 2-year-old Doberman

Kovu is a fun-loving, energetic young lad who is bursting with personality and ready to find his forever home. He’s the kind of dog who greets the world with enthusiasm, a waggy tail and the belief that everyone is his friend.

True to his age and breed, Kovu is big, bouncy and playful — sometimes he forgets just how large he is and needs a gentle reminder to slow things down. He loves getting out and about, enjoys his walks and exploring the world, though he can pull a little when excitement takes over. With the right guidance and continued training, he’ll be an absolute star.

Kovu is friendly with other dogs and enjoys their company, but can feel unsure if another dog runs at him or shows aggression — in those moments, he may tell them off. He has previously lived with a female spaniel and would suit being an only dog or possibly with a larger, confident female who can handle his clumsy, puppy-like play style.

At home, Kovu loves his toys (and considers destroying them a personal challenge 😄). He’s happy playing with his humans or entertaining himself. He’s fully house trained, sleeps through the night in the kitchen, and has no food aggression around people or other dogs.

Due to his size and enthusiasm, Kovu would be best suited to a home with older teenagers or adults only. He is inquisitive with small furries and loves to chase, so unfortunately cats are a no-go.

Kovu is looking for an active home with large-breed experience — someone who enjoys long walks, outdoor adventures, training classes and helping a young dog continue learning his manners, recall and social skills. In return, you’ll get an incredibly loyal, loving and fun companion who just wants to be part of your life.
