🐾 Meet Kovu – Your Big, Bouncy New Best Friend! 🐾
Kovu D2026-04 | 2-year-old Doberman

Kovu is a fun-loving, energetic young lad who is bursting with personality and ready to find his forever home. He’s the kind of dog who greets the world with enthusiasm, a waggy tail and the belief that everyone is his friend.

True to his age and breed, Kovu is big, bouncy and playful — sometimes he forgets just how large he is and needs a gentle reminder to slow things down. He loves getting out and about, enjoys his walks and exploring the world, though he can pull a little when excitement takes over. With the right guidance and continued training, he’ll be an absolute star.

Kovu is friendly with other dogs and enjoys their company, but can feel unsure if another dog runs at him or shows aggression — in those moments, he may tell them off. He has previously lived with a female spaniel and would suit being an only dog or possibly with a larger, confident female who can handle his clumsy, puppy-like play style.

At home, Kovu loves his toys (and considers destroying them a personal challenge 😄). He’s happy playing with his humans or entertaining himself. He’s fully house trained, sleeps through the night in the kitchen, and has no food aggression around people or other dogs.

Due to his size and enthusiasm, Kovu would be best suited to a home with older teenagers or adults only. He is inquisitive with small furries and loves to chase, so unfortunately cats are a no-go.

Kovu is looking for an active home with large-breed experience — someone who enjoys long walks, outdoor adventures, training classes and helping a young dog continue learning his manners, recall and social skills. In return, you’ll get an incredibly loyal, loving and fun companion who just wants to be part of your life.

Dearest gentle reader…

It is with great anticipation that Lady Whistledog (ahem) presents to you a most charming lady of the ton, seeking her forever household.

🎀 Miss Freya of Cardiff 🎀
Freya | D2026-14 | 8 years young

Allow us to introduce Freya, an elegant and affectionate lady whose true delights are found not in society balls, but in warm laps, gentle head rubs, and devoted companionship.

At first introduction, Miss Freya may offer a small announcement of herself to visitors with a little bark — after all, one must maintain standards. Fear not, for she soon settles, and before long will be found perched upon a lap, requesting head scratches as if it were the most natural thing in the world. Once she knows you, her devotion is unwavering.

In her foster household, Freya has blossomed beautifully. She adores her foster mama and papa and can most often be found snuggled upon the sofa, nudging insistently should the head rubs pause for even a moment too long. Her most favoured position? Flat upon her back, draped dramatically across foster dad’s lap — a pose most becoming of a lady entirely at ease.

While polite with fellow canines and happy to share a bed or lap (particularly with dogs she already knows), Freya is quite indifferent to toys and would rather focus her energies on cuddles and companionship. Cats, however, are not welcome in her future estate.

On her limited excursions outdoors, Freya has shown herself friendly and pleased to greet adults she meets. Children, however, cause her great unease. She becomes anxious around them and may bark or lunge, therefore Freya must be the sole young lady of a child-free household.

Freya is learning the ways of the lead — she becomes most excited when her harness appears and is content to walk, though her sense of direction and straight lines is still very much a work in progress. With patience and gentle guidance, this skill will surely improve.

At night, Freya sleeps soundly in a dog bed within a playpen, often alongside another dog, and greets each morning with boundless enthusiasm for her beloved humans. She arrived in rescue without house-training, but with regular trips outdoors she is making steady progress.

Mealtimes are conducted with good manners — she eats separately but waits her turn for treats and has even shared a plate of yoghurt most amicably.

💗 Freya seeks 💗
A calm, child-free home with someone around for much of the day, who has time for continued house training and an abundance of cuddles. In return, Freya will offer you her paws upon your legs, a heart-melting head tilt, and the kind of devotion that only a true lady can bestow.

Meet Kenzo — A Young Man Ready for His Second Chance
Kenzo D2026-13 | 1-year-old Shih Tzu

Kenzo is a gorgeous little soul looking for a fresh start and a family to show him how wonderful life can be. Once he’s decided you’re his person, he’s all about snuggles, closeness and being your little shadow 🥰

New people can make Kenzo feel unsure at first, so a calm, understanding home would suit him best. Older, gentle teenagers who love cuddles would be perfect, but busy, boisterous young children may be too much for him.

Kenzo is still learning about the big wide world. Walks can feel scary right now, so he’d really benefit from having a confident doggy friend in the home to show him the ropes and help build his confidence. This will be a journey—but he’s worth it 💫

At home, Kenzo enjoys toys, zoomies when he’s excited, and prefers to sleep close to his human (yes, your bed is non-negotiable 😉). Toilet training is a work in progress, so he needs a patient family who understands he’s still learning.

Kenzo is looking for a loving, committed home that will guide him, support him, take him to training classes, and help him grow into the happy, confident little dog he’s meant to be. He’s just a young man who needs someone to believe in him 💙

Meet Joseph – Your New Best (Snuggly) Friend!
Joseph D2025 | 8-year-old Pug | Neutered

Joseph is a joyful little pug with a big personality and an even bigger love for cuddles 🥰
He’s the kind of dog who believes everyone exists purely to give him attention… and honestly, he might be right!

This happy lad greets everyone with his iconic corkscrew tail wag, which makes his whole bum wiggle with excitement. Joseph doesn’t bother with toys or fetch — he’d much rather be jumping up for cuddles, soaking up love, and being the centre of attention 💕

💉 Joseph comes fully ready for adoption
✔️ Neutered
✔️ First vaccinations
✔️ Microchipped
✔️ Up-to-date flea & worming
✔️ 5 weeks FREE Agria pet insurance

🍔 Currently working on his “beach body”
Joseph is a little overweight at the moment and is on a strict slim-down plan. He walks nicely on a harness and lead but needs short, gentle walks with exercise increased gradually to protect his breathing. Future adopters must be happy to stick to his diet and share regular weight updates — Joseph is committed (even if he pretends otherwise!).

🏡 Home Sweet Home
• House trained
• Sleeps happily downstairs on the sofa or in his bed
• Eats well around other dogs (no treats right now — diet life!)
• Lives with other dogs in foster and could live with another calm dog
• Can get a little jealous over attention, so would also LOVE being your one and only 💙

👨‍👩‍👧 The perfect home for Joseph
Joseph would suit a quieter household, ideally with people who are home most of the time — retired or working from home would be perfect.
He can live with respectful children who understand that Joseph prefers cuddles over games of fetch.
Pug or flat-faced breed experience would be ideal.

🐶 Joseph in a nutshell
An energiser pug when excited, a calm older gentleman once settled, and an all-round happy little character who just wants to be loved exactly as he is.

🐾 Popsey – D2025-93 🐾
1 year old Dachshund Cross
📍 Fostered in Cardiff

Popsey is a young dachshund cross who is looking for a calm, understanding home where her needs can be met as she continues her recovery and builds confidence.

Popsey can be nervous around people she doesn’t know and may initially bark and appear defensive. Once she has time to get to know someone, she settles well and is comfortable with familiar people. Because of this, adopters must be willing to allow Popsey to go at her own pace and understand that confidence takes time.

She is currently recovering from an injury to her leg. Her 10-week post-operative check went well and the vets are pleased with her progress. Popsey will now require physiotherapy to aid her recovery, which will be fully discussed with potential adopters. She has not yet been walked due to her injury but has been well-behaved and cooperative at the vet. She is used to wearing a harness and is good on the lead when needed.

Popsey enjoys the company of people and does not like being left alone in a separate room. At night she prefers to sleep either in her owner’s bed or in a crate beside the bed. She is house trained, although true to her dachshund nature, this can sometimes depend on the weather!

In her foster home, Popsey will play nicely with a submissive male dog, but she can be quite dominating with other dogs. For this reason, she would be best suited as an only dog with doggy friends, or possibly with a calm, older, submissive male dog. She has not been tested with cats or small furries.

Due to her nervousness with unfamiliar people, Popsey would be best in a home with children aged 12 years and over. She eats separately from other dogs and takes treats nicely. Toys are optional in her world – she can take them or leave them.

Popsey is very energetic, loves running around the garden, and would thrive in a home where someone is around most of the time to provide companionship, reassurance, and continued training.

Popsey will be adopted on a neutering agreement and comes:

  • First vaccination completed
  • Microchipped
  • Up-to-date flea and worming
  • 5 weeks free Agria pet insurance

Popsey is a young dog who needs patience, structure, and understanding – but in the right home, she has the potential to blossom into a loyal and loving companion.
