Mally D2023-32

  • Needs a resident dog
  • Older dog savvy children
  • Can live with dog savvy cats
  • Patient parents who will help her adjust to being a pet

Mally is a 5-and-a-half-year-old Cocker Spaniel described by her foster mum as a very nervous girl who takes time to warm up to people. She has started to enjoy human company in her foster home and is enjoying the doggy company.

Mally was initially very nervous in her foster home and was allowed to take her time to get comfortable with her foster family and will now take affection, with a very careful approach as not to scare her. Mostly she is left to approach on her terms.

Mally loves having dog company as it gives her confidence and security which has brought her out of her shell. Were sure if she continues to have dog company, she will begin to learn how to enjoy her new life playing and being adored.

Mally has not paid any attention to the resident cats.

Mally is a very gentle but nervous dog and needs a quieter home environment. Children would need to be dog savvy and 12 plus.

At the moment Mally doesn’t play with toys but enjoys watching the resident dogs playing. In time when she feels safer and loved were sure this will change for Mally and we can’t wait to hear all about it.

Mally has no experience of walking on a lead and this is something that is being worked on in her foster home. She will need lots of patience and encouragement, as she currently won’t walk on a lead even with dog company. She is fine with a harness on but gets a bit nervous when it first does but calms down when she realises it’s nothing to be afraid of.

Mally currently sleeps in a crate at night, she takes a little time to settle if she on her own but if she is with another dog she settles down.

Mally has been very good with her toilet training as she has been encouraged to go out regularly and been given lots of praise when she is good. This needs to be continued in her forever home.

Mally currently eats alone to make sure she gets lots of good food. She’s not really interested in dog treats at the moment but were sure this will come.

Mally needs a quiet home with a resident dog. A home with a nice size garden where she can continue her lead training and enjoy some outside time in the sun (if we ever get any). Older dog savvy children and lots of time to decompress and learn to dog.
