Russ D2024-163 • Needs another dog • No cats or small furries • No children • Needs to continue his training Russ is a 5-year-old Spaniel described by his foster family as a real people lover both in and out of the house. He loves going for a walk and saying hello to people he meets. He enjoys playing with the other dogs in the home and dogs he meets out and about, but doesn’t yet play with toys alone. Russ cannot live with cats or small furries as he will chase and bark. He walks brilliantly on the lead and is very well behaved when out and about. Russ cannot be homed with children due to a previous bite incident. Children are OK visiting as long as he is monitored. Since this incident, he has been under a behaviourist as the incidents occur due to being startled. His foster family have been working on these techniques and no further incidents have occurred. The techniques and full support will be provided to his adopters moving forward. Russ currently sleeps next to the human’s bed in a bed of his own. He is house trained. Russ loves his food but needs to eat separate to other dogs as he can be quite bossy and wanting others food if in the same room. He will wait for a treat but again can be quite bossy if another dog is around. Russ needs an understanding home with another dog. His family need to continue the work that has been done to limit any startle responses. An understanding of spaniels and their needs and behaviours. Russ had a difficult start to life and needs someone who has the time and patience to continue his training. What you give Russ he will give back ten fold. Asher D2024-157 • Needs a resident dog/dogs • Not cat or small furry tested • Older dog savvy children • Patient family Asher is a 7 year old Bichon described by his foster family as a typical puppy farm dog who is very unsure around humans he doesn’t know. If in doubt he will run to his safe space and watch from afar. Walking outside on the lead is work in progress as it’s scary out in the big wide world, so new owners would need to work on this slowly and gradually as this will take him time to learn Asher is fine around older gentle and understanding children 10+ that will leave him to adapt and watch and not bother him too much. Younger louder children may be too much and will scare him. Asher relies a lot on other dogs in the home. He doesn’t have a lot of confidence by himself and will let the resident dog lead the way. He will sit back watch and then once he feels safe he will join in, so it’s very important he has another dog to help him flourish. He plays with the other dog in the home and they zoomie up and down the garden. Walking on the lead is work in progress and will need to be continued around the garden in his new home before he does outside. Asher sleeps in the kitchen with the resident dog in the dog bed all night. He would be happy to also sleep on the bed with the foster mum and has done from time to time. Toilet training is a work in progress and is going to need some work. He’s slowly learning but will still have accidents inside the home. Please consider this when adopting a puppy farm dog as this will have to be worked on and will come slowly. Asher loves his food and eats really well. He has no food aggression and loves treats Asher is ideally looking for a quiet home that will have patience with him as he’s a slow burner. He relies heavily on the resident dog in the home to snuggle up with and learn from. Once he trusts his human he will snuggle up and enjoy lots of cuddles but that needs to be built slowly by letting him decompress and be left to learn from the other dog. Time will be the biggest thing with Asher and his new home must let him decompress over time and not rush him to soon. Asher is a gentle boy but an unsure soul but once he trusts you will have his all. Meg D2024-148 • Can be an only dog • Can live with another dog • Not cat tested • Older family who will adore her Meg is a 9 year old black Labrador who loves people, especially women. She enjoys a quiet life and loves her cuddles and belly rubs. She is happy to come and meet people with her tail wagging and loves it if she is made a fuss of. She is very much a people dog. She enjoys her walks and is always happy to meet people along the way. She is still a bit bewildered to find herself in new surroundings but is in foster due to no fault of her own. Not cat tested but has not reacted to cats whilst out on walks. Meg is fine with children, happy to be around them and have fusses. She would be happy to have children visiting now and again if not living with them but quieter older children as she would not cope with boisterous youngsters. Meg has her own toys but is not yet ready to play with them but once settles she would probably like to play again. Meg loves her walks and gets excited when having her lead on. She is walked on a slip lead and will initially pull a little out of excitement, but soon settles and loves to jog around the fields with her tail wagging. She is happy to be walked on her own or with other dogs. She walks really well on the lead and is not bothered by traffic. Meg currently sleeps on a rug with her blankets in a room away from the resident dogs. She has been into the living room and climbed on the sofa. In a home without other dogs she would probably love to be a sofa/lap dog but at 36kg probably a sofa dog would be better!. Meg is completely house trained and will go to the door to ask to go out. She loves being out in the garden and has to be persuaded to come back in sometimes. Meg prefers to eat away from the other dogs and she likes her human with her to tell her she is a good girl and to encourage her to eat. She is currently eating 2 meals a day but was used to having food available all day, she is gradually learning that she has to eat only at meal times which is better for her. She takes treats gently and likes to eat them away from the others dogs. Meg would love a quiet home with access to a garden and someone around most of the time to give her cuddles and take her for walks. She is not bothered by other dogs but would probably prefer to be an only dog in the home and meet others when out and about on walks. She enjoys her walks and would love to be able to have fun off lead in a secure field as she loves to run and sniff. Whilst Meg is used to being an only dog, she may well happily live with another quiet dog. She would be an ideal companion for an older active woman or couple where she would be the centre of their world. • Can be an only dog • Can also live with another dog • Not cat or small furry tested • Family who likes walks and cuddles • Family willing to meet her a few times so she gets to know them Rosie is a 3 year old lurcher who loves nothing more than a cuddle on the sofa after a fun walk! She is an energetic bouncy girl and loves playing with toys in the house. After spending her first 11 months living in a kennel, she was brought into a vets seriously unwell where she was then signed over. Once back on the mend she was fostered and adopted and settled well in to a family home. Due to a sad change in circumstances Rosie now needs to find another home. She needs a local home that can visit and get to her know her a few times before she moves to her new forever home. She is toilet trained but will need walking regularly. She walks really well on the lead and loves a good zoomie session off lead. She responds well to her name and will come back easily especially if you have a treat for her. She is very food oriented and can be a little bit cheeky and get food off the sides in the kitchen but has never shown any food aggression around people or other dogs. She absolutely loves treats and will sit and wait patiently to be given them! Even though she has three legs that doesn’t stop her from jumping around excited when her favourite people come through the door! Rosie can be an only dog but does enjoy other dogs company once she’s introduced to them so can live with other dogs. She hasn’t been cat or little furry tested in a home. Rosie can be a nervous girl due to her bad past experiences and can take some time coming around to new people but once she trusts you she is the most loyal lovely girl. Rosie has been around children regularly but is bouncy and energetic so would need to be 5+ and dog savvy. Rosie would fit in to an active home that has plenty of time for walks and after walk snuggles. She settles well in a car for travelling short distances. Tayari is a 5 year old mini Poodle described by her foster family as a lovely little girl. She loves nothing more than to follow foster mum around and cuddle up next to her for a chat and cup of tea. Maybe a sneaky biscuit too but shhh don’t tell anyone. When new people come into the house she is very unsure of them and will run to a safe distance, occasionally she will bark until she feels comfortable, then she stops and gradually make her way back into the room. She can keep herself to herself but has a lot of love to give and will need her new pawrents to allow her time to adjust and approach when she is ready. Once settled and trusting she will approach to be picked up, where she will just snuggle up. She does give little kisses when she feels comfortable around you.
Tayari is not cat tested.
She can be rehomed with children aged 10 upwards.
Currently she doesn’t know how to play with toys, but foster mum is encouraging play time. Tayari will chase a ball in the garden which she is growing to love. In time we are sure she will find the joy of murdering a squeaky toy.
Harness and lead walking is a work in progress. She will wear a harness but panics any time the lead is picked up and does not currently like the pressure. She is practicing and playing with the harness on and a short lead trailing under supervision but it is going to take time for her to feel comfortable enough to explore the outside world and learn about adventures.
During the day she sleeps in the living room in a dog bed, or snuggled up on a chair/settee. During the night she sleeps in an open crate in the kitchen. When you put her to bed, she will initially whine but will settle all night.
House training is a work in progress. She will go outside if the door is open but needs a routine, lots of praise and treats when she does well.
She eats well around other dogs with no guarding, she will take treats from your hand once she trusts you.
Tayari needs a home with a resident dog to learn from. Her trust in humans is currently very fragile and the resident dog will help her be brave and to emerge from her shell to be the dog she should always have been. She would like a home with someone around most of the time so she can learn to trust and feel loved. She needs time to decompress and a family who will help her adjust.

Llew is a 4 Year Old Chihuahua who came into rescue very scared and anxious to be around new people. After a few weeks in his foster home he has learnt that he loves to sleep on his foster mum and dads lap whilst they are watching the tv. He will plant kisses on their faces and roll on his back for a tummy tickle but like a typical chihuahua everything is on his terms. He will decide where he’d like to sit, how long for and who’s face he’d like to lick. If he chooses you, you will be very spoilt with the love this boy has to offer.
He will try to play with the other chihuahua in the foster home but as he’s a grumpy Chi he has slowly given up and is happy to just follow him around and watch the interaction with him and his humans.
He had a flea allergy when he arrived so it’s very important that flea and worm treatment are kept up to date to avoid reoccurrence
Llew is inquisitive of cats and can bark when he sees one. He is fine with all dogs that he’s met in the foster home and is happy in their company.
Due to Llews fear aggression and the fact he’s not fond of kids of any age he will be better suited to an adult only home.
Llew has started to play with toys and has chased a ball. He is particularly fond of socks and will steal them out of your washing pile and chew them so being mindful of what is left lying around is a must if you want to keep the toes.
Llew doesn’t like to put the harness on and seems to find it quite scary but once it’s on him and he’s venturing outside he really enjoys it. He especially enjoys walking alongside the other Chi in the house showing the world who’s boss. Although he can come across as confident, he feels his safest when he’s with another dog whilst he’s exploring the big outside world.
Llew is quite happy sleeping downstairs in the foster home by himself. He has never been upstairs in the foster home and he likes it that way. He likes his own company to sleep and not to be disturbed. In the morning when he sees his foster mum he gives a big waggy tail and a jump and patiently waits for his breakfast.
Llew sleeps all night with no accidents in the house. He is toilet trained but it is to be expected that there may be accidents to start with in his new home until his confidence grows.
Llew will low growl and warn other dogs off if they try to steal his food. He will take treats away from the other dogs and find a corner quietly to eat them. Llew wouldn’t eat when he first arrived in the foster home but he is eating twice a day now and loves his food.
Llew is looking for an adult only home with chihuahua experience. He can be very anxious in new situations and will need someone that understands to leave him alone to decompress and someone who can deal with his anxiety and fear aggression until he settles. Llew is looking for another dog to help him settle and learn from preferably another chihuahua. He needs a home that doesn’t have too many visitors as he believes he lives in his own bubble with his own people and doesnt like any new people coming in upsetting that or he will bark and warn them to leave or hide in a corner till they are gone.

Can you give Star and Stripes the quiet, nurturing home they need?
Stripes and Star are a bonded sibling pair of gorgeous young cats learning to be more confident in the world. They have come out of their shells well since being in foster and although timid on first meeting will soon approach for fusses especially when treats are offered!
They have learned to play with toys and come alive in the evening, throwing their toys around and playing with each other. Then when tired they cwtch up and sleep together, very happy in each other’s company. It’s lovely to see such a bond between them
They don’t mind being left on their own for a few hours and have learnt to use a litter tray and a scratch post.
If you feel you can give Stripes and Star their forever home please fill in the form below. They’re waiting to hear from you.
Stripes and Star are neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and up to date with flea and worm treatment.
Jasmine is a beautiful young girl who hasn’t had the best start in life. She was found as a pregnant stray in the Spring last year and needed some help from her foster mum to bring up her kittens.
She likes to hide and come out in her own time-she’s a chatty girl who loves a lap and will purr loudly-all on her own terms as a typical tortoiseshell!
Jasmine would benefit from a home with plenty of company as she loves her humans when comfortable and settled in.
If you feel you can give Jasmine her first forever home at last please fill in the form below. She’s waiting to hear from you.
Jasmine is neutered, litter trained, vaccinated, microchipped and up to date with flea and worm treatment.
Patti has the potential to be a loyal and loving cat but will need an experienced and patient home.
After an accident she has had her back leg and tail amputated. She has now been waiting for her new home for over 15 months.
When she was initially found in sub zero temperatures having wandered the streets for almost a week, everyone was concerned. Her leg and tail were injured beyond saving. She’d probably been hit by a car. After her operation Patti courageously adapted to life with three legs and now loves to roam an enclosed garden. She is a straight forward girl. She’ll weave her body with love and appreciation so you’ll need to be steady on your feet. Patti loves a helping scratch to those places she can’t reach such as her right ear but can be overstimulated. She requires an experienced and understanding owner who will reward her patience after all this time and prove that only good things come to those who wait.
This gorgeous girl deserves to be spoilt after all she has been through.
Litter trained, vaccinated, microchipped and up to date with flea and worm treatment.
Babs is a beautiful 6 month old kitten, she would ideally like another young cat to play and cuddle with as she’s very sociable with the cats in her foster home. She also likes to play with her human slaves and would love a couple of children to play with her.
Babs like to find things to walk off with, her favourite are socks! She loves to give kisses by putting her little nose on yours and has just discovered curtains are fun to climb up!
She loves to go to sleep having her tummy tickled and is an all round delight. Having been born in rescue and spent her kittenhood in foster wouldn’t it be wonderful for her to be in her forever home for her first Christmas
Babs is litter trained and uses a scratch post.
Babs is not yet neutered, she is fully vaccinated, microchipped and up to date with flea and worm treatment.
The Ralph will support his veterinary care on an ongoing basis.
Leo is a 3 year old Bull breed who adores human affection and is content in a familiar, consistent environment. He is a bouncy boy with lots of love to give to humans, but unfortunately cannot be around other animals. His ideal home is one where he can be based in the home and garden with no conventional walks.
Leo has had a rough start to life, and is looking for a family who can adapt to his poor sight and resulting needs for this he will give you his whole heart.
Leo is happy to be cuddled, groomed and carried. Does not resource guard. He is lead and harness trained. And is fine to be examined by vets. He travels in the car with no issues.
Leo has no health concerns other than reduced vision. On ongoing antianxiety medication. Limp in front leg but this is mechanical (does not cause pain or discomfort).
Dog-savvy children, suggest 14+ due to bouncy nature and size.
Leo cannot be around other animals, even at a distance, presumed due to anxiety/fear due to his poor vision.
Leo needs an adapted living environment for his poor sight, including avoided use of stairs and a safe, fully enclosed garden.
The Ralph will support his veterinary care on an ongoing basis.

* Pawrents with lots of time able to dedicate to her future.
Tiara is a 6 month old Cavashon described by her foster mum as a complex bundle of joy who loves to keep her on her toes. She’s cheeky, a bit bonkers, loves a belly rub, loves digging and adores a paddling pool in warmer weather. She can sometimes be in a world of her own and barks at her own imagination. She didn’t have the best start in life which will be discussed with potential adopters and is a very busy little puppy who currently needs a lot of stimulation.
Tiara is a special girl and if you are a regular to our Facebook page you will have seen her story. Her veterinary history and ongoing needs will be discussed with potential adopters.
She is not overly fussed about attention from anyone other than her own people, unless they have food. After all she has taken a long time to train her foster mum and isn’t going to train anyone she will not be spending a lot of time with. Once she spends lots of time with you and gets to know you she will be your best friend for life.
Tiara has mobility issues and has been using a puppy pad when left on her own or if foster mum is busy and not able to take her outside. When she is able to be taken out regularly, she has been fine.
Tiara will initially bark at strangers but soon chooses to ignore them when she is ignored.
She will bark at the resident cats who just stay away from her.
Tiara currently sleeps on her foster parents bed overnight and sleeps all night with no issues. She is unable to get on or off a bed or sofa and is reliant on owners for upsies and downsies. She loves her doughnut bed and her toys. Although she loves her toys till very recently all play has needed to be supervised as she gets over excited and tires easily. She is also a prolific underwear stealer so potential adopters will need to make sure that if you don’t want it stolen and played with it needs to be out of puppy height. She has been left for short periods but does not like to be left alone which is being worked on.
Tiara has only recently started learning to walk on a lead and It’s currently like having a balloon on the end of the lead, but she does eventually settle. She does love to be out but her body tires long before her enthusiasm, so new owner needs to know when to stop her before she hurts herself.
Tiara is a complex little princess who needs an owner to continue to treat her as such. She personally would like a bungalow shaped palace but if this is not possible her parents are going to need to help her with any stairs.

NO CATS OR SMALL FURRIES
BULLDOG EXPERIENCE HOME DESIRED
DEDICATED PAWRENTS WHO WILL ALWAYS BE THERE FOR HIM
Leo is a very special 15 month old American Bully who is looking for very special pawrents who will love and adore him. He is described by his foster mum as an absolutely gorgeous little man full of love with so much joy for life. He has a cheeky little character and is super smart. He truly lives for now and is a very happy little soul
Leo was involved in an incident when he was younger which cause him to sustain injuries to his front legs and the head trauma, he received has made him almost blind. He has had specialist vet treatment from one of the best vets in the country and although now wonky he doesn’t know any different and just wants to be happy, safe and loved.
Leo adores people and is excited to meet everyone. He doesn’t jump up but greets with his whole-body wagging and great excitement. He loves being touched and fussed.
Leo has seen children and has been very good with them but we would recommend older children as he is a little uncoordinated with his blindness and wonkiness and could knock over small children by accident.
Leo is good well socialised and good with other dogs; however he is still young, bouncy and excitable and still needs some training. He is sociable with the other dogs but also quite independent and happy to take himself off to dream of his next adventure.
There can be no other small animals in the home (cats, chickens, rabbits etc)
Leo is crate trained and finds this to be his safe space. Leo also enjoys destroying his toys, but only his toys he’s not destructive to anything else in his home. He loves his toys but is happy to play and share he is not aggressive over them at all.
He is fully house trained & can be left for a few hours He absolutely loves his food and eats well.
Leo is a bouncy boy and is partially blind so this means walks with him tend not to be in a straight line, but he is nicely behaved and enjoys going for a few short walks a day. He doesn’t like to travel, whining, pacing and panting a lot to begin with but will settle. He is fantastic with the Vets, as sadly he has spent most of his young life in them.
Leo needs a special home with special people where he can be loved, feel safe and adored. His pawrents need to be around most of the time as he needs them to feel safe. He is a super smart boy who wants to learn and will need someone who has the time to teach him. This is a very special boy who deserves a very special home.

LOVING PAWRENTS THAT WILL TAKE HANK FOR PUPPACHINOS SO HE CAN WATCH THE LADYEEEES
Cheeky chappie Hank is a 6 year old Chihuahua described by his foster mum as a super busy, super handsome boy. He is a busy little bee and can jump up on sofa and likes to walk around the back of the sofa to climb down into your lap for a fuss. He’s also a great help in the home and loves to wake the human teenagers up in the morning by climbing up into their beds.
He loves to follow his humans around when they are home to make sure he isn’t missing something and that anything you do is to his standards. He likes to lay next to his humans on the sofa just chilling and being adored. He is great with everyone who comes to the house and just asks for a fuss. He has been great with the teenagers in his foster home but he hasn’t been around young children. So, we would recommend a home with dog savvy children.
He has been left for short periods with no bother, and greets you with the waggiest tail when you come home. Squeaky toys are his favourite toy and when napping he loves to pull the blanket all the way over him to sleep so you can just see his little nose sticking out
Hank eats well, sometimes a little too well and his new pawrents will need to watch his weight. He will take treats gently from your hand and is a total gentleman.
He is almost housetrained as his foster mum takes him out regularly for toilet breaks. So this will need to be kept up in his forever home.
Not cat or small furry tested
Hank sleeps in his bed at the end of his foster mums bed but likes a snuggle on the bed first then goes down for the night to his own bed.
Hank is good on lead when he is out patrolling his kingdom. He can bark when strangers and other dogs pass but will settle shortly after being reassured.
Hank is a complete gentleman wrapped in a little body. He has been great with everyone he has met and just wants to be the centre of someone’s world. He likes to go for walks and one of his favourite things is going for a puppachino and sitting on his foster mums lap looking out for other laydeeeee dogs to admire. He can be an only dog or live with another dog of a similar size. He would like older children who can lavish him with attention but not treat him as a toy.

Eira is a 5 year old Bichon who is very timid as she was attacked by a dog before being liberated and needs Celeste for comfort and reassurance. They are always looking for each other and are always cuddled up or close to each other.

Candy is a 6 year old King Charles Cavalier described by her foster mum as a darling little dog that has become her foster mums shadow. She has started to trust and will now lay against her foster mum’s leg and put her head on her knee. She will then inch by inch gradually proceeded till she is on foster mum’s lap completely. Foster mums heart melted when she first did this as Candy didn’t have the best start to life being an ex-breeding dog and has never had a human show her any love.
Candy’s medical history will be discussed with potential adopters
Candy is still getting used to living in a home and can be very skittish and will jump at sudden movements. Toilet training is a work in progress but she is doing very well. She likes to sleep on the sofa downstairs and has started to find her bark on the mornings when she hears foster mum moving around upstairs. She likes treats of chicken and meat and is very gentle when taking from your hand.
Candy is initially nervous around new people she meets but if allowed space and time she is fine once she gets used to them. She’s not yet interested in toys.
Candy would be better with older dog savvy children as boisterous, noisy children scare her and she takes herself off to hide. She is not cat or small furry tested
Candy likes nothing better than a good nap on the sofa or on your lap where she will snore rather loudly. Hence the nickname Snora Batty. She will make someone a delightful companion who can give her lots of love and attention.
Candy has not yet been out on a lead as she is not fully vaccinated but has been going out in a dog buggy to get used to the noises of the outside world. Owners will need to be patient when showing her how to be a dog on a lead. She’s done a little training in the garden and this is progressing well
Candy needs a home with another resident dog of a similar size who will help her adjust to life on the outside. She could live with older dog savyy children. She will need patient and caring owners who will help her become the dog she was always meant to be.

ONLY DOG
ADULT ONLY HOME
OWNERS WHO ARE HOME MOST OF THE TIME AND WILLING TO PUT THE EFFORT IN
Frank is a very sensitive 3 year old bulldog that although on the outside may seem bouncy and full of confidence, on the inside he is a dog that longs to have his own people, stability and boundaries. He is a stunning, muscular and active bulldog who is definitely not a lazy boy and since coming into FOA he has had BOAS surgery which has benefitted his breathing and activity levels.
Frank once he gets to know you is a loveable flat face enjoys fuss and affection, but it takes him a little while to establish a bond so he needs a patient home to work with him to give him confidence and encouragement. He is a bulldog that hasn’t had a lot of training or socialisation in his previous home, so will be a great project dog for any home looking to put time and effort into a dog to ensure his forever home is perfect for him
Frank as a bracyaphalic breed has the usual exercise limitations, and any owners will need to have an awareness of flat face breed specifics but frank is a healthy, active bulldog.
Frank can be reserved to begin with but bonds quickly and establishes strong relationships with people in the home. He would be best suited as an adult only dog due to his energy levels and need for ongoing training. He is a very boisterous bulldog but can also be unsure and anxious in situations and previously children have created a stress trigger for him so Frank needs an adult only home as the only pet
Frank is a typical bulldog in the home, and can be boisterous when over excited but also happy lying in front of the tv at the end of the day. He is a dog that when bonded can get separation anxiety if left home alone. With time and patience and once he realises this is his forever home this will settle down. He is cage trained and will happily settle in a crate if needed. He is very playful and likes toys but will need monitoring as he can get over excited if allowed too many toys or is played with too much
Frank does have a tendency to stalk and chase cars on a lead if given the opportunity but this is being controlled and improving through training which will be provided to the new home.
Frank needs an adult only home with previous experience of bulldogs. He can get anxious in certain situations and will need patient and understanding owners to work with him to establish a routine and settle him into his new home. He would suit a home where someone was there the majority of the day with people that are willing to continue his training either with classes or using previous bulldog ownership experience.
Frank is an active dog that will need owners prepared to exercise him physically and mentally. He deserves a home of his own to gain confidence and lead an active happy bulldog life with owners that are committed to working on his training and developing a bond

ANOTHER LARGE BREED RESIDENT DOG NEEDED
NO CHILDREN
NO CATS
PATIENT OWNERS WHO ARE HOME MOST OF THE TIME
Benji is an absolute delight who loves everybody. He enjoys nothing more than playing tag in the garden with his foster brother before settling down to recharge his batteries in front of the fire. He also enjoys his training especially if it involves treats.
Benji had distemper as a pup which has left him with tremors. These don’t bother him and he is not on any medication. The vets are very happy with him.
Benji loves people but can forget his manners in his eagerness to greet them so large breed experience would be preferred.
As a large bouncy boy Benji would like a home with no small children as he may knock them over in his eagerness to play. Older teenager who are experienced with larger breeds would be ok.
Benji would prefer a home with no cats or small furries
Benji is a calm dog in the home when it is just his foster mum and loves a cuddle. He is fully toilet trained and is currently enjoying four meals a day. He likes to sleep either on the sofa or on a rug in front of the fire.
Benji loves going for walks and gets very excited. He is walked on a halter and collar and double lead but doesn’t pull and just enjoys being out and about. He does get excited meeting new people so his fosterer is currently allowing him a 10 second erring and then moving on. He gets a treat if he is a good boy. This training will need continuing in his forever home.
Benji would like a home with large breed experience who are willing to keep up his training. He would like at least one other large dog who is happy to play and run around the garden with him.
Neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and up to date flea and wormer

NEEDS A RESIDENT CALM DOG
OLDER DOG SAVVY CHILDREN
NOT CAT OR SMALL FURRY TESTED
PATIENT LOVING OWNERS WHO CAN GIVE HER THE TIME SHE NEEDS TO FLOURISH
Tani is a 3 year old Bedlington who is currently a scared little girl who takes a while to get to know you. She currently avoids direct eye contact until she feels safe around you. She likes to wander around the various dog beds at home and enjoys a cuddle on your lap on the sofa once she has decided that you are her friend and will not hurt her.
Her medical history will be discussed with potential adopters
Tani can be very disengaged when she first meets new people and it can take her a few days for her to adjust. She is nervous around strangers and will attempt to move away if you approach her. This reduces when she builds trust in you. She doesn’t like fast or loud movements and gets scared easily bolting to a place of safety. If she cannot escape, she will cower on the floor in fear. She is ok with older dog savvy children, when she gets used to them.
She has not been tested around cats or small furries.
Tani is quiet in the house and likes to wander from room to room. She sleeps in a bed at the side of her foster mum’s bed but will make her way onto the bed if she is allowed. Tani is very much house trained but can experience the odd accident if she can’t get outside quick enough. She will go overnight and toilet outdoors on rising in the morning.
Basic training has started and she is a very quick learner, this will need to continue in a positive manner in her forever home. She’s a very intelligent girl and is keen to get it right enjoying the treat or reward when she does.
Tani is just starting to show an interest in furry toys, which is a moment we all love to see. It means she is turning that corner from a fearful little lady in her surroundings to feeling safe. She can be left for short periods but doesn’t like to be left alone for long and will cry and search around the house for you.
Tani has shown no signs of food aggression and will willingly share a plate or bowl with her foster brothers.
Tani has not been out and about yet as her vaccinations are not completed.
Tani would like a quieter home where her new owners are home with her to help her settle. She will need patience and understanding as her early years have not been the most pleasant and she needs time to learn to trust you. When you have earned her trust, she will reward you with endless love and cuddles. She would be better around older, dog savvy children who would give her the space she needs. She would also need a calm resident dog who can show her how to behave and help her trust. She needs ongoing positive training in basic commands.

HE COULD LIVE WITH ANOTHER CALM DOG BUT WOULD NEED CARFEUL INTRODUCTIONS AND A KNOWLEDGEABLE OWNER OTHERWISE HE COULD BE AN ONLY DOG
PREFERABLY AN ADULT FEMALE ONLY HOME
SENSITIVE FRENCHIE EXPERIENCE DESIRED
NO CHILDREN, NO CATS OR SMALL FURRIES
Larry is a 3 year old delicate French bulldog who has had a very troubled past and has a few medical issues we hope won’t put off his perfect home that we know is out there. Larry is a very loving affectionate dog when he trusts you but his past has made him very sensitive to anything he feels might hurt or worry him. As a result he has learnt to react in quite an extreme ways to his stress triggers. One of these triggers seem to be men in the house and he gets very stressed around men shouting (even watching football on tv), waving arms or holding a floor brush. Although we don’t have his full history as he was with another rescue prior to coming to us for specialist care his behaviours strongly indicate he has been mistreated by a man and is now very worried as a result.
Larry is a highly sensitive dog who when in a calm, quiet and female orientated house loves nothing more than sofa cuddles and pottering in the garden where he can fully relax. His favourite sleeping position is upside down and he wiggles his whole bum when he sees you
Larry has delicate skin and is currently on long term medication to manage this. He is also fed on a grain free, hypoallergenic diet. He has a spinal issue which means he is sometimes a bit wobbly on his back legs, which has been assessed by a specialist vet and there is no surgery that will improve his condition. However it can be managed by limited exercise and keeping his diet in check so he doesn’t become overweight. Larry loves going for walks but these may need to be restricted if his condition deteriorates later in life. He needs a home experienced with flat faces and managing their breathing during hot weather.
Larry is very friendly with people outside the home, and loves cuddles. Inside the home he is worried by men in particular and needs an experienced frenchie home to manage his stress levels on a day to day basis to prevent him needing to react to stress triggers.
As Larry is a very sensitive dog we will only home him to an adult only home. He is not good with cats or small animals and will not be homed with them
Larry is a very needy frenchie that wants to be with you all the time, this is due to his past and any new owners must be prepared to work with him to overcome his separation issues
Larry has previously had multiple homes and been passed around before coming to us, so it is no wonder he is a confused, unsure boy at times and it may take a while to build the bond and confidence between him and any potential owner. Any new home must be prepared to give Larry time to settle, time to build his confidence but also work with him to manage his behaviour when he’s anxious rather than give up on him. Larry deserves a home that will work with him and not give up at the first obstacle
Larry due to his spinal issue currently doesn’t go on huge walks, but loves running and playing ball. His recall in a secure area is very good and he’s very ball focused so will come back for his favourite ball.
Larry needs a frenchie experienced home, ideally with females only or if a male someone that is 100% committed to working with Larry to overcome his fears around men. Particularly his fear of men’s hands or men carrying objects as he associates this with previous worry and will react by barking and lunging. Any male that applies for Larry will need to show commitment to giving Larry time but also be prepared for Larry to have moments where he will react to males until he gains trust.
Larry is such a complete cuddle monster in his foster home, and as it’s a single female home he has not shown any behaviour issues other than wanting to chase the cat and parrot. He has had a very troubled past and been very unsettled by moving from home to home with a previous rescue so any owner will need to be patient and give Larry time to adjust to another move.
Larry is a dog that so deserves to find a special person willing to see past his insecurities and give him stability, patience and lots of love. Due to his separation anxiety and new owner should be there the majority of the day, or working from home to help his stress levels

SENSITIVE AND UNDERSTANDING HOME WITH FRENCHIE EXPERIENCE
Do you enjoy thriller movies? Do you often find yourself thinking the main characters are misunderstood and not really possessed?! Then Dennis the Menace is the dog for you, as everyday with Dennis is like living in a real-life thriller, some days you might be living with the canine version of Hannibal Lecter, and others you might be cuddled up next to the dog version of mogwai in gremlins… just don’t get him wet or the slightly naughtier gremlin might arrive!
Dennis is a 3 year old French bulldog that is very much a misunderstood soul. He likes to make out he’s a silent assassin that would prefer to live alone, with no visitors or uninvited guests and with his eye on the neighbour’s fence constantly in case of unauthorised football activity, but deep down he is a very sensitive soul that has decided from his tough past that the best way to keep strangers away is to terrify them with his best angry pig impression when he first meets people, or if people come into his house uninvited.
He wouldn’t get picked on an episode of first dates!
Underneath the tough, slightly unhinged guy act there is a loveable rogue that secretly loves cuddles and sofa naps, and is a little dog crying out for stability and routine
Dennis has previously had both knees operated on as his patella’s needed correcting, and he has had BOAS so he can breathe better and cope in hotter temperatures easier
Dennis very much chooses how he will interact with people, we haven’t decided if he does this on looks, smell, fashion sense or accent but Dennis will 100% judge you when you first meet and based on his judgement you will either be treated to the cute pig side of his personality or you may be slightly terrified by the angry pig, but once he trusts you, which usually involves ham, chicken a quick prayer and a four-leaf clover, then he is totally fine being handled and being touched.
Due to Dennis occasionally having episodes of making pennywise look tame it’s best for Dennis to be in an adult only home
Dennis is fine with other dogs as long as they don’t try and play or get over excited, then he gets quite stressed so he could live with a calm similar sized dog, and one that isn’t spooked by a slightly possessed doggo otherwise he would be best suited as an only dog
Dennis is fine with cats, he must know they are secretly plotting to take over the world and he respects that level of arrogance
Dennis in the home is a man of mystery. Some days he scans the perimeter of the home, checks the fences and decides nothing needs investigating, other days he must sense there is a football lurking somewhere in the neighbourhood and he makes it his mission to destroy them all- even if that involves staring at a fence panel or trying to dig to get to it. Dennis has an obsessive personality that currently presents as a toy obsession specifically balls, and if it rains he is determined to catch every drop falling so he needs close monitoring and continuing work to keep him calm and not tip him into a dog that would feature on the programme “Neighbour from Hell”
Dennis believes all toys should be destroyed instantly and any human that gets in his way may also face his wrath so negotiations have to begin if he gets hold of anything he decides he wants- chicken is normally his trading currency or ham as a second tactic!
Dennis loves being out in the countryside on walks, and is fine on a lead.
Dennis at the vets needs careful handling, vets and vet nurses should definitely be prepared to negotiate heavily with him before any treatments, and failing that if negotiations cannot be amicably reached then they should prepare to launch ‘operation try to treat an angry pig’ and maybe draw straws to see who gets to see him!
Dennis is the most cheeky, funny, sensitive, naughty, reactive Frenchie that has had a really tough past and is desperate to trust people but sadly his past experiences have just made him not want to easily. In his foster home his behaviours are managed, he trusts his foster mum and he is a lovable rogue whose worst habit is digging in flower beds and snoring too loudly, but if he is allowed to rule the house or is put into unnecessary stressful situations in a new home then Dennis will definitely become a menace.
Dennis deserves a home that is prepared to work with him, understand his anxieties and not put pressure on him. He is a Frenchie that yes has his quirks, but anyone who is experienced with stressy Frenchies will see past that and hopefully understand that he needs to have time and understanding to settle in any new environment.
The ideal home for Dennis would be adults only who aren’t easily scared, no children, a calm resident dog or he can be an only dog, and someone home the majority of the day as Dennis isn’t a fan of being left for long periods of time. Is he a straightforward dog? No Will he test his new owners? Yes Is he a dog that deserves a chance of becoming a reformed character in a home of his own? Absolutely!

Not a lap dog. Cuddles on her terms
Pixie is a typical Yorkshire terrier who loves her human on her terms. She is 5 years old. She has a very happy face and always looks like she’s smiling when you look at her. She is quite a small little girl around 4kg but is still very lively and when she’s done she loves to cuddle up on the sofa on her own or next to her Foster mum.
Pixie loves her walks and gets very excited when she sees her harness and lead doing a little dance. She will constantly bite her lead or that of any other dog walked with her but this is getting better with gentle encouragement not to do it and she’s easily distracted with treats. She does sometimes growl at dogs out on her walk as a warning for them to back off but when she’s had a sniff of them the other dogs size doesn’t faze her at all. Pixie loves her walks but does not like traffic so a built up area is not the best place for her as she hates loud and fast movements and shakes a lot and cowers down if large vehicles pass.
She loves trotting around the house head held high looking for her squeaky toys that she loves, but does try her best to kill the squeak. She likes to follow her human everywhere and is like a little shadow in and out of each room but will settle back on the sofa when you return to that room.
Pixie is on propalin as she does drip a little wee now and again. She has not been on it long so it is being monitored and as long as she is put out to do her toilet regular it seems to be working.
Pixie loves her human Foster parents and is a little unsure of new people at first and can bark but soon settles down. Pixie likes to be the one to initiate contact to be fussed and will sit next to her human and tap you with her paw to be stroked but is not keen on being picked up. Pixie will not be placed with young children but could tolerate visiting older children who are used to dogs and will not treat her as a toy due to her size would be ok with careful monitoring.
She is fine being washed and dried with a towel but is not very keen on being groomed and hates having her face touched, pulling away hence why she has a furry face in most photos.
Pixie is food mad if her human is eating she wants the food and will try all ways to get to it often being quite impolite, this will require continuous work in her new home.
As an ex breeder Pixie needs homing with another dog of a similar size. She’s very independent around the other dogs in her Foster home and never cuddles up to them, preferring to find a quiet place on the sofa to relax and always sleeps away from the others. She will tell the other dogs to give her space when she wants it.
She takes no notice of the cat in the Foster home but hasn’t met any other furries.
House training is still on going as pixie can be lazy and needs encouragement to go outside. Pixie sleeps in her foster mums bed snuggled up and sleeps soundly all night. Pixie has never used a crate and doesn’t use dog beds either. She loves anything furry with a squeak in and tries her best to kill the squeak and can become quite obsessed with a particular toy and will search and search when she has left it out of sight. Not food or toy aggressive but snatches her toy if you try to touch it.
Pixie hasn’t been left alone for more than a few hours 2/3 and would prefer to have her human at home the majority of the time if not all. She will try her best to go with you if she thinks you are going out.
Pixie is very nervous in the car and will shake continuously whilst travelling. She behaves well at the vets but shakes with fear especially as she’s being picked up. She’s not aggressive or snappy though just frightened
Pixie needs a quiet home as she’s a sensitive little girl with people that are home most of the time if not all. If there are visiting children only teenage dog savvy children that are not too loud but it would be better. She needs another dog as she’s an ex breeding girl for when she’s left in the house for short periods of time. Pixie is not a lap dog and she will choose when she wants human contact and if the dog in the house needs a cuddle companion then pixie is not that dog.

Nirvana is a 3 year old energetic athletic dog who would love to be someone’s adventure companion. She loves being out on walks exploring but also loves stretching out on the sofa and being with her humans. Nirvana was part hand-reared as a puppy so is very attached to people and underneath her muscley active exterior she is a sensitive sweet dog that just loves human company.
Nirvana can initially be wary of strangers, but once she knows you she is the most loyal friendly dog, who loves being with you and is very affectionate. She is a strong and powerful dog with high energy so although she would be friendly with children she would be too boisterous to live with young children. Older children with an awareness of the bull breeds clumsy nature would be best.
Nirvana lives with a mixture of breeds and sizes and is absolutely fine with them all in the house. In the home she would need an older calmer dog to encourage her not to get over excited. A young dog would just encourage over excitement. Nirvana could live as an only dog if there were humans around all the time, or she would live with another medium to large sized dog happily. Due to her size and boisterous play Nirvana would not suit living with a toy or delicate breed.
Nirvana lives with a cat and is absolutely fine but is very food orientated so will steal cat food if not kept separate.
Nirvana is housetrained and if her humans are around she is very quiet in the home, she will sleep happily on the sofa after a walk and is a very easy dog. She does not go in a crate and will get quite stressed if made to. She is very playful with toys and is happy to let people take them from her with no issue.
Nirvana is very food orientated which is great for training but owners will need to be aware that she will counter surf if food is left out. Nirvana does suffer from separation anxiety so needs humans that are around all day to reassure her and prevent her becoming destructive when left. Nirvana has been destructive previously but this has only been when she panics about being on her own so with a family around all day she will settle into a routine and once confident she can be left for 1-2hrs. Her current foster home has improved this a lot but it is still something that new owners will need to be aware of and be prepared to work with her as she settles into a new home.
Nirvana loves walks and adventuring outdoors. She is a very fit and active dog and can pull initially when excited to get out but will settle when walking. She is good off lead but can be over excited when running so needs an experienced bull breed home to manage this appropriately
Nirvana is an active dog who loves to be with people so would suit an active household that will include her in daily life. She can be wary initially so she needs a home willing to work with her on building her trust with them, and a home that will give her time to settle into a new routine. Nirvana is a powerful active dog with typical clumsy bull breeds tendencies so needs a forever family that have experience of having an energetic and playful dog in the home. Nirvana does suffer with separation issues so initially she will need a family willing to allow her to sleep upstairs and a family where someone is home the majority of the day. Nirvana is a dog who would walk miles in a day so needs a family who can keep up with her, but also manage her energy levels on walks so she doesn’t become over excited as due to her breed mix and being a young powerful dog she can be a handful if she is not managed appropriately. Nirvana is a loving, fun dog who will make the most amazing companion for someone and has a lovely mix of being an active adventure dog but also a big sofa snuggle monster too

We have kept our doors open and continued to help as many animals as possible during the COVID19 crisis. There has never been a greater need for our rescue to work with the most damaged animals but there is a huge financial cost.
We have helped nearly 200 dogs this year, plus many cats and rabbits, so many of whom have needed very expensive veterinary treatment.
We have only been able to do this because of the generosity of our supporters and the hard work of our volunteers who have been fundraising and selling goods online, as well as virtual sponsored events and much more.
We are now back in lockdown so are shops are yet again closed, still no events so we are still asking for your support to enable us to keep on helping the animals who need us.
Our previous big van has left us to transport dogs over Rainbow Bridge so we desperately need a replacement. Whilst our little van is great for vets visits our larger one was essential for all the other work we do on a daily basis.
Our van literally saves lives. It’s a multipurpose vehicle that is used to collect animals especially puppyfarm ex breeding dogs. it is used to collected pet food donations, collect donated items for our three charity shops and deliver purchases to customers. It is used to move stock around and whilst we are unable to hold events at the moment it is essential for our Auctions, car boots, Dog Shows and all manner of other fundraising opportunities.
We desperately need a good quality replacement as our previous van was past economic repair. It was a total workhorse and travelled many hundreds of miles and we are simply lost without it.
Tilley is a well balanced little westie girl that now has so much love for life that you can see it in her little face. She loves other dogs and has learned to play with the help of the resident dogs and is now comfortable in the home environment. This sweet girl has so much to give she enjoys contact and cuddles and is very well behaved when being groomed. Tilley has a gentle nature and enjoys walks, even though they are short at the present time, due to a cruciate repair, which she is recovering from with leaps and bounds. Tilley will let you know when she wants to get up on the sofa by coming to you and giving her paw. She enjoys a belly rub but her favourite thing is to place her head in your hand and press into you. Tilley will also do a little dance when you gently rub her back which is very cute.
Tilley has had 9 back teeth removed and needs to eat a mix of soft and hard food. Her ears need to be regularly cleaned due to a previous infection. This young lady has also had 2 back leg ligaments corrected which has made a massive difference to her in all ways. I am hoping when the second leg has fully recovered, she will be able to get up and down of the sofa on her own. She has no problem with stairs or steps.
Tilley now loves attention from people and enjoys the interaction. She has been in her foster home for quite a while due to the surgeries and recovery and has developed an amazing little personality.
Tilley has been around children with the youngest being 7 and was happy and comfortable.
Tilley will greet other dogs when out walking and interacts nicely. She is very social with all new dogs in new places but needs another dog for company and reassurance. Tilley hasn’t been tested with cats or smaller animals
Tilley has learned to like the comforts of home and now enjoys nothing more than to be cuddled up on a soft bed during the day or even better cuddled up on the sofa. During the night Tilley has slept in her foster mums’ bedroom where she likes to start off on the bed but when she gets too warm, she will get off and sleeps in a dog bed. Tilley isn’t crate trained due to not needing it and she can be left for short periods of time, no more than 3 hours. Tilley will bark for a minute or 2 when left but then settles down. Tilley now likes to play with toys and the other dogs and needs a resident dog to continue to show her the ropes. Due to being an ex-breeding girl she enjoys to eat her soft food in peace but is happy to share her dry food.
Tilley travels in a soft crate in the car and settles with no problems. Tilley is now 95% house trained with the odd accident.
Tilley would like a home with older children or someone that has lots of time to give and is around most of the day. She is a very social girl with so much love to give. She is very gentle and now very much enjoys life. If you are looking for a friend that keeps giving Tilley is the dog for you. Once settled her fun side is so cute to see her play is such a pleasure and when she makes eye contacts you and gives little butterfly kisses, she will melt your heart. She is unrecognisable from the scared little girl who arrived on foster a while ago now.

Cassie is a truly sweet little dog who is exceptionally easy to look after. She loves snuggling on the sofa with you and will quietly follow you around the house. She’s wonderful with children and loves a fuss. She looks forward to her walks and loves to go adventuring through the bushes. She is such a good girl to take to coffee shops as she sits quietly whilst you eat. She has a quiet nature but comes to her owner once she’s got to know you. She is fine to leave at home alone and has not chewed or made a mess and she always welcomes you home with her wagging tail. She is great with other dogs when she is off the lead but can become worried if dogs approach her when she’s on the lead.
Cassie has cushings and will need daily medication in tablet form. She takes her tablets well.
Cassie can be wary of new people preferring to be cuddled by her family but does warms up to new people quickly. She is very friendly and prefers human contact to being on her own.
Cassie is great with children and very gentle towards small children.
Cassie is happy meeting new dogs when she is off the lead however if a group of large dogs surround her she will understandably become worried. She can be worried if a loose dog approaches her when she is on the lead. However she is social and friendly towards other dogs.
At night Cassie sleeps alone downstairs in her basket in the kitchen. She is very good at understanding her bedtime routine. She will stay in the kitchen during the day if she is left alone and has not made a mess. Cassie is housetrained and will do her best not to mess in the house however because of her cushings she needs access to water as she drinks a lot and what goes in must come out so regular trips to the garden are needed. Cassie can be left for the majority of the day alone and will not cause any mess however, if she is left alone in the car she will bark. Cassie can be picky about eating her prescription food but will gradually eat it throughout the day. Cassie can be quick to steal human food if she can reach it.
Cassie is great to walk off the lead but isn’t aware of the dangers of the road and cars so must always be on the lead by roads. She enjoys exploring inside bushes and can get carried away with all the nice smells taking her time to come out which can sometimes be up to 20 minutes. (well no one likes to miss a good smell right). Cassie travels well but needs to be secured safely in the car as she gets excited and wants to sit on your lap. Cassie is great for the vet.
Cassie needs an active home who will take her for lots of walks or to the local coffee shop. She likes to be near the main carer in the home. Cassie needs someone who will give her a lot of fuss but also someone who will be sympathetic and understanding of her condition and the likelihood that she will have accidents occasionally.

Only dog or live with an older dog who respects his space
Patient owners who will work at his pace
Fostered in South Wales
Dave will need you to visit him before adoption to see if he likes you. He also says bring Ham it may win him over
Dave is 6 years old and came into rescue after having a horrific start to life. Initially he would growl at everything and not tolerate any touch from human or dog. As he’s started to settle this has got less but he’s still a scared little boy who doesn’t know who to trust. He will sit and shiver if he thinks you may hurt him even if it’s just brushing another dog. Once he trusts you, he will let you gently stroke his head and he’s happy to take ham off you.
Dave isn’t comfortable with touch. He is getting better and will let you stroke him briefly but it is on his terms. He needs an owner who will follow his cues and not rush him. He is much more comfortable with touch when he’s out walking on a lead. He will need a groomer who is experienced with very nervous dogs
Dave needs a home with no children and the ability to shut him in a separate room should any visit.
Dave would love to be an only dog in the home. He could live with an older dog who respects his space. He. is not comfortable with dogs sitting next to him or trying to cuddle him
Dave could live with small furries as long as they respect his space
Dave is fully toilet trained. He sleeps quietly in a crate overnight but would be equally happy in a dog bed. He mustn’t be allowed to sleep on human beds in his new home as he could react if you roll over and accidentally nudge him. He loves his wet food and is partial to a piece of ham or two. Dave is fine to be left for short periods throughout the day
Dave enjoys his walks and walks well on the lead. He uses a slip lead and is now happy to allow me to put it over his head to get on and off. A few short walks a day would be ideal for him He would like a quiet home with not to many visitors. He needs patient owners who will allow him time to settle and not rush him. He’s had a horrible start to life and needs time to learn not all humans are bad.
Neutered Male
No children
Only dog or an older resident dog who will respect his space
Dennis is selective on who he likes and dislikes and any prospective owners will need to visit him a few times to see if you stand up to his high expectations in a forever human
Fostered in Crewe
Dennis is a 3 year old loveable French Bulldog who is menace by name and menace by nature! Dennis has a number of complex behaviour issues but had come on so much in his foster home. He loves treats and will do anything for a biscuit. He is a frenchie that underneath his tough guy image is a very misunderstood dog that has had a traumatic past. This has now led him to have stress coping strategies that need managing daily. Dennis can wave with his paw and loves nothing more than a nap on your lap
Dennis since coming into rescue has had BOAS surgery and both knees repaired so currently has no health issues. New owners should be flat faced experienced to accommodate for any future health issues that are common with his breed. Owners will need to research pet insurance quotes prior to application as typically flat faced breeds have higher premiums and any prospective owners need to be in a position to have pet insurance in place.
When Dennis knows you he is a very affectionate frenchie who can get stressed easily which presents itself as him being reactive to people. He is a very temperamental little man that has previously had it very difficult. New owners will need to give him time to settle and be prepared to distract him when he displays anxious behaviours and not encourage or ignore them. Dennis can be a very cuddly frenchie but also likes his own space and this should be respected as when he needs his own space he can react if he feels under pressure.
Due to his mischievous behaviours we would not home Dennis with any children.
Although Dennis lives with other dogs in his foster home he would prefer to be an only dog. He can be possessive over food and toys, and can easily get wound up when other dogs are playing so he would be best suited as an only dog but who socialises with dogs outside the home.
Dennis lives with a dog savvy cat with no issue currently
Dennis will go into a crate but is very anxious when the door is shut so we are currently working on desensitising him so he’s less reactive to the door. When anxious he will destuff dog beds so this will need managing in his new home. He loves toys and will play with them. He can be food and dog reactive so owners will need to be prepared to work with him on this and give him time to settle in. Dennis is fine being left
Dennis walks well on a harness and doesn’t pull. He can be a bit reactive to some dogs on leads, but this is currently managed and he is much improved compared to when he first came in. Dennis does not like travelling and can be very vocal when in the car. He also gets very anxious at the vets and should be handled carefully as he can be reactive.
Dennis is a loveable but temperamental little character, he deserves a home where people will work with him and give him time to settle in. He can be reactive so a family experienced in reactivity or flat faces is especially important. Dennis has obviously had a troubled past and is a dog so desperate to love, he just needs to learn he doesn’t have to react when he’s anxious or worried. Dennis would love a sofa to nap on, a human that will put in the work with him (and feed the occasional treat). Due to his knee surgery Dennis needs a home that will gradually build up his fitness levels and be aware of flat faced breathing problems.
