Lady Godiva is a unique cat who is looking for human servants to wait on her hand and foot- she demands attention and expects to not have to share her servants with any other inferior pets at all. Lady Godiva is a really affectionate cat, she will happily share your space wherever you are, and will use you as a purring platform whenever she so chooses Lady Godiva is a high maintenance lady, expecting baths weekly to keep her skin in good condition, and she does not expect to be shut out of rooms at night if her servants are in there, she will demand you let her in as she doesn’t like to be alone
Sphynx cats are a specialist breed so although Lady Godiva has no health issues, prospective owners should research the breed fully before applying. Lady Godiva would not suit a home with children as she is a highly sensitive cat that gets very stressed around children and other pets
Lady Godiva is a very friendly cat to adults, and will come for a fuss once she knows you. She can be very demanding and pushy for attention, so any prospective owners should be willing to cope with a cat that is more like a dog in personality and attention seeking. Lady G gets weekly baths with no issue, and is very good at being handled
Lady Godiva is not a fan of dogs at all and will not be homed where there are resident dog/dogs, she would attack a dog and could easily get injured so needs to be the only pet in the home
Lady Godiva is not a cat that can be homed with other cats, she will hiss and attack other cats and gets very stressed so needs to be the only pet in the home
Lady Godiva is a very talkative cat that loves to interact with you in the home, she will happily explore and make a house her own, she is not destructive but will scratch at carpet at night if shut out of bedrooms so needs a home that will allow her full access to rooms especially initially while she settles in and gains confidence. She is fine being left but as a very needy cat would be better suited to people working from home or retired so she has a lot of company throughout the day.
Lady Godiva would eat constantly if given the chance so will need her food intake closely monitoring to avoid becoming overweight
Lady Godiva is a very unusual cat that has had a very unsettled few weeks after being abandoned in a box outside a vets, so is understandably very clingy, and demanding of her foster carer currently. Any new home will need to be prepared for her to be standoffish initially which may include hissing and growling, but once she builds a bond she is an overly affectionate purr machine that would sit on your lap and demand attention all day if she was allowed.
As sphynx cats have quite specific needs, any owner should either be experienced with this breed, or have researched their requirements fully before applying. She will need a totally indoor home only, and a home that is committed to ensuring her safety as an indoor cat with access to a catio with shade or only outside in the garden on a harness.
Lady Godiva is an absolute diva of a cat that has made it very clear she will not tolerate other cats or dogs in the home so any owner should be a non-pet household and not be planning to get any other pets before applying for Lady Godiva as she needs a forever home that will be committed to giving her the full undivided attention she wants
Lady Godiva needs a home that will love her for the amazing, unusual, affectionate cat she is and not just because she looks different or if they think she looks strange. She is such a character that she deserves the best home, as a rescue we are expecting her to be a popular cat to apply for so any prospective home should be prepared for a detailed home check process to ensure the perfect home is found for this unique cat
