Cariad Bach D2024-36

  • Needs a resident dog to learn to dog
  • Isn’t bothered by cats
  • Needs a loving family

*****RESIDENT DOG MUST BE SPEYED OR NEUTERED UNLESS ON THE ADVICE OF A VET*****

Carri is a 6 year old Mini Dachshund described by her foster mum as an amazingly loving girl who is so happy and excited for every new day. She has had a ruff past but is now making up for the 6 years she missed as a much loved pet. She loves snuggling and getting in all the dog beds (she seems so happy to have one). Her tail is always wagging as she speedily trots from one place to another following her humans and Foster sister.

Carri can be shy occasionally but is so loving and happy to see people. She had a number of teeth removed when she first came into rescue and since this she seems to have a new lease of life and loves new experiences. Thriving on each positive experience.

She ignores the cat and is good with her foster sister and will follow her every where learning to dog.

She has never been tried with children but we would recommend older dog savvy sensible children.

At present she doesn’t realise what play is but loves exploring the garden and having a gold old sniff of everything she can find. Grass under her feet and is new and she is taking every new opportunity in her little sausage stride.

Carri has started harness and lead training but this is going to be a work in progress. She’s OK wearing a harness but no pressure has been put on the lead and she is enjoying following another dog and learning. She has not been out in the big wide world yet but once settled in her forever home and when feeling safe she will be ready to take these steps.

Carri currently sleeps on foster mums bed or anywhere the other dog sleeps. She sleeps all night and has cute little sausage safe dreams.

Toilet training is a work in progress she needs a routine and is fine as long as she is taken out frequently and rewarded when she has been good. Like most sausages she doesn’t like to go out alone to do her toilet and definitely does not like going out in the rain so a family with a nice big umbrella and lots of patience would be good. This will of course get better as she settles and feels safe.

Cariad currently eats in the another room as the resident dog is bossy and will eat her food. She is learning what treats are and her current favourite is bratwurst.

Cariad needs a home with another dog and a patient loving family. When settled she will enjoy going new places and sniffing new smells. She loves everything and will follow another doggy proudly trotting behind with her head held high. She is the sweetest little girl looking for her second chance at the perfect life.

Puppies

  • Could be only dogs or live with others
  • Not cat or small furry tested but young enough to learn
  • Sensible children
  • Need to attend puppy classes

Introducing Arawn (boy), Ffion (girl) and Seren (girl) our 7 Month old Cavalier X Poodle puppies.

The pups are receptive to visitors at the home with wagging tails but will back away until they feel safe and comfortable to approach you. The love cuddles but this has to be on their terms. They are playful and cheeky with a little bit of nawty thrown in.

They love being in the garden.

They are un-tested with cats and small furries but young enough to learn.

They can be homed with children as long as they give the pup their own space when needed.

They play with toys alone and with other dogs.

They are comfortable with a harness but a little stubborn when lead is attached.

They sleep in the kitchen at night. During the day they sleep on the dog bed or sofa in the living room.

They are house trained but being pups little accidents will happen now and then.

They all eat fine around other dogs.

They would like a family home where they will flourish. They will need to attend puppy classes for further training and socialising. They could be an only dog with owners home most of the time and lots of doggy friends or live with others.

Dillon D2024-37

  • Needs a resident dog to learn from
  • Not cat or small furry tested but is young
  • Older sensible children
  • Active, patient family who will help him flourish

Dillon is an 8 month old Cocker Spaniel described by his foster mum as a little shy at first meeting but soon becomes an inquisitive typical puppy who longs to play and get up to mischief. Like all puppies he likes to have a nibble on random objects so being mindful that if given half the chance he will steal the remote control to see what it tastes like. He’s a massive goofball with the saddest eyes and will win your heart within minutes. He is a typical clumsy puppy with no social awareness.

He has not been tested with cats but due to him being young he will more than likely be inquisitive and chase a cat to play but he will learn to adapt as he grows.

He can be homed with older sensible children from ages 8 upwards as long as they respected his space whilst settling in.

Dillon loves toys especially a ball he will chase and play with the ball and really enjoys.

Dillon has not been on a walk due to not being fully vaccinated, but he’s fine wearing a harness and lead and slowly learning to walk with one on around the house.

Dillon sleeps in the kitchen in his dog bed by himself with no problem.

House training is work in progress

Dillon loves his food and would eat all day if given the chance he does not suffer from any food aggression but may benefit from a slow feeder.

Dillon would flourish in an active home that will help him explore the world outside that he’s yet to discover. A home that’s patience and loving is a must as he will need to learn how to dog and not be scared. Another dog of a similar size and age that likes to play puppy would be fantastic as he loves to bounce around with other dogs.

Eleri D2024-33

  • Needs a resident dog
  • Older dog savvy children
  • Not cat or small furry tested but expected to be fine

Eleri is a 4 Year old westie described by her foster mum as a typical ex breeding puppy farm dog that can be unsure of new people. Once she has decided you’re not going to hurt her she can be very inquisitive and loves a snuggle.

Eleri loves to be on the sofa next to her human snuggling. She follows the resident dog in her foster home and watches and learns from her. She relies massively on the resident dog to show her the way and repays her daily by licking and cleaning her ears.

Eleri has not been tested with small furries or cats but foster mum doesn’t think there will be any problem with her due to her nature.

Eleri is ok around children but young loud boisterous ones scare her so older calm and quiet children would suit her better.

Eleri has started to play with the resident dog in the foster home and enjoys a morning ruck on the bed rolling over and mouthing.

She walks well on the lead but can be unsure of sudden noises and people approaching her. She needs to be walked with other dogs to build her confidence and once she overcomes those fears she’s going to enjoy being out exploring the big world.

Eleri currently sleeps on her foster mums bed all night with her foster sister and foster mum.

Eleri ‘s toilet training is a work in progress and she can still have accidents in the home. Foster mum always has a puppy pad down just in case as she’s learning.

Eleri loves her food and shows no aggression with the other dog when being fed.

Eleri is looking for a home with a resident dog that will allow her to follow them and learn how to dog. She relies massively on other dogs in the home and although she likes humans when she first meets one she will allow the other dog to test they are safe first before she will greet you. Older children that will give her space and she would like to go for walks daily so she can explore the world outside that she never got the chance to explore whilst pumping out those puppies in the puppy farm. It’s important that her new brother or sister will allow her to snuggle up and groom and clean them as she can be mothering at times.

Lindor D2024-19

  • Can be an only dog
  • Can also live with a similar quiet dog
  • Older dog savvy children
  • Loving and patient owners

Lindor is a 2 year Shitzu X Chi described by her foster mum as a cuddle monster who adores humans. She can think of nothing more divine than snuggling on your lap whilst you gently kiss her tiny head. She adores being around her humans she’s can be wary when she first meets someone but it doesn’t take her long and she will be next to you for a tummy tickle. She loves her little squeaky toy and will carry it around the house with her.

She doesn’t take any notice of cats whilst out on her walk but hasn’t been tested inside the home. Her Foster mum doesn’t think it will be an issue.

Lindor loves attention from everyone but very small loud children may be too much for her so calm gentle and cuddly older children are fine.

Lindor has started to he interested in toys and particularly a squeaky little one that she carries around.

She loves to be outside sniffing and exploring and enjoys walking both by herself or with the other dogs.

Lindor sleeps on foster mums bed and snuggles down soundly all night with no issues.

Lindor is 70% housetrained but can still have the odd accident and she may go a bit backwards in her new home.

Lindor eats her food mostly on her own as she can be a bit growly to the other dogs if they approach her bowl.

Lindor would thrive in a home that allows her to snuggle up in bed at the end of the day for cuddles with her human. She needs a home with someone there most of the time as she doesn’t like to be left for long periods on her own without human company. It would be ideal if she could live with another dog of a similar size that is not going to be to much in her face, but will also play with her now and again. Or a home on her own with visiting doggies or walk buddies. Older children would be fine and the cuddlier the better. A home that is going to walk her as she gets excited about being outside trotting around exploring and sniffing as she goes.

Pepper D2024-32

  • Needs a resident dog
  • Older dog savvy children
  • Not cat tested
  • Needs owners with sausage knowledge, buckets of love and patience

Pepper is a 5 year old sausage described by her foster mum as a super little lady who has very easily settled into foster life. She is happy to be picked up and will curl up against you on the sofa until she is ready to go out to toilet.

She spends her day either curled up sleeping by her foster mum or curled up in a snuggly warm bed watching the goings on.

She enjoys a little trot around the garden when the weather is nice. As a sausage she is not keen to go out in the rain so her new family will need to invest in a nice big brolly and plenty of warm towels.

Pepper is a brave little sausage and is not particularly nervous about anything around her. She does tremble a little but this is a sausage trait and snuggly warm blankets help with this and reassures her making her feel safe.

Pepper as a gentle lady has not had the best start in life and is not quite sure how to interact with people. She is going to need time and buckets full of love to help build her confidence and allow her to be the sausage she was always meant to be.  We are confident once she feels safe she will be as nawty as all the other sausages. It’s a well known sausage trait to be nawty, cuddly and amazing.

Pepper is good with other dogs but is currently ignoring them as she is being given time to decompress. She will need a quiet resident dog to help show her the way of the sausage in her new home. She doesn’t currently play with toys but will when she’s ready.

Pepper could be homed with older sausage savvy children who can help her grow and flourish.

Pepper does not currently go walkies and has not learnt the ways of the barky sausage. She will wear a harness but lead training is going to be an ongoing process and will be helped by a special resident dog.

Pepper currently sleeps in the kitchen with the other dogs and sleeps all night.

She is completely house trained and has been a great house guest. She eats her food delicately and doesn’t understand treats.

Pepper is a great little sausage and given time, love and patience would suit most homes who have a resident dog and sausage knowledge.

Wispa D2024-17

  • Needs a resident dog
  • Older sensible children
  • Fine with cats
  • Needs a family who will help her flourish

Wispa is a 3 and a half year old King Charles Spaniel described by her foster mum as a nervous girl who is desperate to trust. She is scared of people she doesn’t know and will go off to her safe place to watch and assess and see how her humans are with them then she will come out and make friends.

She is settling into foster well and her cheeky side is starting to emerge as she is beginning to steal foster dad socks when he leaves the lying around. She loves to know where her humans are at all times when they are in the house. When foster mum has to leave, she has been fine with the other dogs and is happy to see her return to see what goodies she has brought.

She is just starting to learn what belly rubs and ear tickles are and will happily snuggle up on the sofa next to you.

She has paid no attention to the resident cat despite him being a nawty ginger ninja and calling her names. She’s currently a little over weight which will need to be managed in her forever home. Good food and gentle exercise and this young lady will soon be summer bikini body ready.

She was fine with a 6 year old when he visited but he’s dog savvy. She just sat back and watched what he was doing but kept her distance. She is not going to like a busy or noisy household and will need children to be kind and help her develop at her pace.

Wispa doesn’t yet play with toys or other dogs but were confident this will come once she feels safe and loved.

Lead walking is a work in progress. She has had her harness on but was terrified of the lead and any pressure put on it. This needs to be continued in her forever home and bonding with her new fur brother or sister will help this process.

She currently sleeps on end of foster mums bed or in a super comfy dog bed on the floor.

Wispa is super clever and learned the house rules of toileting outside very quickly. She will let you know she needs to go but you have to go with her and hold her paw.

Wispa prefers to eat   alone as she is worried the other dogs will eat her food or it will be taken away from her. She is beginning to understand treats but is fussy as to what she likes.

Wispa would like a home with a resident dog who can show her the ways of the world. She needs to learn from them and like master Yoda they will show her the way of the force. The love force. She is not going to enjoy a busy house full of screaming kids but she will happily make friends with strangers who are nice and gentle with her.

Sally D2024-15

  • To be adopted on a neutering and training agreement
  • Can be an only dog or live with others
  • Older children
  • Not at or small furry tested
  • Active home with knowledge or experience of the breed

Sally is the most beautiful 6 month old springer spaniel described by her foster mum as initially shy on first meetings but soon comes out of her shell when she realises you are a friend or even a friend with food. Sally hasn’t seen a lot of men in her life having been in foster with a strong independent woman with crazy dogs but the more she gets out and about the more she is learning.

Vet history to be discussed

Due to having a rough start Sally is very immature in both body and mind, she is only around 5kg and very much like a 12 week old puppy. She’s super cheeky and bouncy once she knows you and is very much a Velcro dog, she wants to be where you are and would spend all day around your neck like a scarf if she could.

Due to being a baby she is still all bouncy and nippy but she is not a chewer, nevertheless she is partial to a stolen sock!

Untested with cats or small furries.

Sally is great with kids but we would recommend older children as she is still very jumpy and nippy

She is very good with foster mums crazy labradors but not overly interested in playing. She is more a people dog. Due to her rough start and needing to be healthy she has only just started getting out and about and is quite shy with meeting dogs but this will improve with socialisation and puppy classes.

She is happy to have a harness and lead on and is getting better and not wrapping you up with the lead when out and about. She has been off lead in a secure field and her recall was excellent.

Saly sleeps downstairs in her crate, once she can’t see you she settles to sleep but is unsettled if she can see you, she has also slept upstairs with my foster mums daughter and was also fine.

House training is a work in progress as her little brain cells catch up.

She is fed in her crate as she is a hoover and given the chance would eat her own food and everyone else’s but there has been no possessiveness around food.

Sally is a very busy dog and will need a family experienced with spaniels or one who can show they’ve done appropriate research into the breed. She will need a home that will be dedicated to keeping her active in both body and mind and would greatly benefit from puppy classes. She would happily be an only dog or live with other dogs who would be tolerant of a bouncy baby. The world is Sallys oyster she is young enough to learn and is very much a fun dog.

Hollie Cat C2024-01

DOG FRIENDLY

CAT SAVVY OWNER

NO CHILDREN OR OTHER CATS

Hello 🙂

My name is Hollie and I’ve found myself in the unfortunate situation at the age of 11 where I’m looking for a new home and a new human to care for me.

My wonderful owners adopted me from Friends of Animals Wales 9 years ago but they both passed away within a few months of each other so I came in to rescue again in January 2024. I found all that a bit confusing but here’s what I’d like in a new home…

Some adult owners, teenagers are ok but I don’t like little children much. I don’t mind well behaved dogs, I lived with 2 small dogs but I’d like to be the only cat in the house. I don’t like cats they’re annoying-especially the one in the mirror! I need a human who has a warm lap and likes playing games with me. I really like being asleep most of the day but also enjoy playing with balls and small mouse toys. I also love cardboard boxes, especially if you cut a sunroof out of the top and play hide and seek with me. You may get a swift swipe or chew if I have enough of you fussing me, that’s fun too!

I’d prefer a cat savvy owner as I like that kind best!

Love from Hollie 🐈‍⬛

Hollie is neutered, litter trained, vaccinated, microchipped, uses a scratching post is up to date with flea and worm treatment.

Lily D2021-203

****PLEASE READ THE FULL WRITE UP BEFORE APPLYING****

  • Lily can be an only dog
  • She can also live with a resident dog
  • She can be homed with older teenage children
  • Not cat or small furry tested
  • Patient owners

Lily is a 6 year old chihuahua described by her foster mum as a gentle cuddly girl who adores a lap. She knows how to go up and down stairs, has excellent toilet manners and can even sit nicely for you.

Lily can be a bit of a drama queen when she’s feeling insecure or unsure of what is happening. She will allow you to pick her up but she needs to know and trust you or she can be a bit grumbly. She will need your time and patience to help her gain confidence and enjoy new experiences.

Lily is a greedy girl she is neutered which may make it easier for her to put on weight as her metabolism slows, so monitoring of food intake will be needed for the foreseeable future to help her stay fi t and healthy.

Lily adores people so much she’s even been known to do a tiny excitable wee on seeing her foster Mum enter in the mornings. She may go to ground on meeting new people until she’s had some strokes, at which point she realises they are gentle and her confidence comes out. She will wag her tail and lean her paws on you to get your attention. She is very gentle.

Lily can be a bit worried and is likely to find children too much. It is best for her to be homed in an adult only household or with older teenage children.

Lily has barked at cats on the garden wall but not over aggressively. She has not had any close engagement with small furries while in foster.

Lily sleeps with the other dogs downstairs but does like to come into the human bed for cuddles after breakfast and loves to bury under the covers and roll around on her back for tummy tickles.

Lily is great when out on a walk and really enjoys it.

Lily is a beautiful gentle girl who is just looking for that forever lap. She would love a bit of outdoor space as being in the garden is one of her favourite things. She enjoys exploring a flower bed and sitting in the sun.

Loki D2024-10

  •  Could live with similar size or larger resident dog, that can meet his energy
  •  Can also be an only dog
  •  Fantastic with children
  •  Owners willing to help him grow with training and confidence
  •  Needs to attend training classes

Loki is a 1 year old cross breed boy with the curliest tail biggest ears and most beautiful doggy smile.

He adores everyone and jumps in excitement for everyone he meets. He is described by his foster mum as a typical young energetic pup who loves running, playing and exploring the outside world. He is a happy go lucky boy, who loves to chase balls and is a complete bundle of fun and energy.

Loki has learnt basic commands and can sit and give paw when asked, he will do it even quicker if there’s a juicy treat on the end of it. It’s important that Loki takes part in ongoing puppy training classes to help keep his busy little mind stimulated as well as teaching him boundaries. Loki needs routine and boundaries in place as it will teach him how he should behave as he grows into the handsome man he is becoming.

Loki could be an only dog in his new home as long as he is not left for long periods on his own and as long as he has an active home. He enjoys the company of other dogs, but does not know his own strength and has no spacial awareness around smaller dogs whilst playing, so a similar or a larger size resident dog would be the best fit.

He has not been cat tested in his current foster home.

Out and about Loki walks well on lead and loves to explore the outside world, he likes to greet everyone he meets but can be wary of dogs coming towards him that he don’t know, so he will need his new pawrents to advocate for him by reassurance using tasty treats so that every interaction with another dog is a pawsitive one until he can find his confidence. Loki is a keen trekker and he’s looking for all those walking adventures.

Loki currently sleeps downstairs.

Toilet training is pretty much there he has very few accidents.

Loki is looking for a home with owners that can dedicate time to him with ongoing training, socialisation and general manners. He is super intelligent, he loves to please and he’s quick to learn. He needs time put into him from his family. With lots of positive rewards (yummy treats ) training and boundaries Loki is going to be an amazing boy.

Martha D2023-176

  • Needs a resident dog
  • Fine with cats
  • Older dog savvy children

Martha is a 2 year old Bichon that loves adult company and will sit on the sofa for a fuss and a tummy tickle ,but is still a bit skittish when anyone is walking around. She doesn’t feel confident enough yet to freely approach people unless there is another dog to show her it’s safe. Then she will slowly approach as she hates missing out on a bit of a fuss or a treat.

When out walking she will watch people from a distance and is a little worried about the noise of children playing. This is improving on each walk as she learns that nothing will happen. She will need her new family to advocate for her until she is more comfortable.

Martha’s cheeky personality is starting to show as she has begun to pinch socks and slippers and take them to her bed for a little nibble . Any toys laying around will quickly be picked up and off she goes to her bed for a chew and to kill that squeak.

She has a loud bark and uses this if she sees someone walking past the house or if a noise startles her, but this is improving weekly as she settles.

She loves to see her food being prepared and will run around bouncing with joy and excitement as if she’s having her own party. She loves zoomies around the garden and really enjoys the freedom it brings . She has such a cute way of cocking her head to the side when she’s concentrating on listening to what is being said to her.

Martha lives with a cat and has no interest in him .

Martha is a bit overwhelmed by the noise playing children can make, so it would be better for the children to be at least 12 or older.

Although Martha loves the thought of going for a walk, she is still a little nervous when out. She gets excited to see her harness but can turn it into a game to try and get her to keep still to put it on as she may run away before she lays on her cushion waiting calmly.

Martha likes to sleep on our bed by our feet with her foster sisters. She sleeps soundly all night .

Martha is almost there with house training and will go into the garden with encouragement but doesn’t know how to tell you she needs to toilet. She will use a puppy pad if caught short.

Martha is not food aggressive but will try to finish off food still being eaten by the other dogs if not watched. She loves a treat but will hang back from the other dogs and has started to take a treat from the hand.

Martha needs a quiet home where she can continue to thrive and a resident dog to show her the ropes. Although being a young dog she is learning to enjoy her walks so a family or person that likes to go out and about would be great for her.

Glenda D2024-04

  • Needs a resident dog
  • Great with cats
  • Sog savvy teenagers

Glenda is an almost 3 year old Cavashon that has stolen the heart of everyone who has met her! This beautiful, gentle girl continues to come out of her shell a little every day. She will happily snuggle by foster mum, enjoying a fuss, and will now nuzzle and give licks to keep her going! She’s just started to roll onto her back and wave her paws too, which is cuteness itself and brings even more cuddles from foster mum!. She has met a few people outside her foster home but although timid with people, she’s happily sniffed and wagged her tail at doggy friends from foster mum’s lap.

Glenda is becoming braver every day. She loves to follow foster mum and the resident dogs around the house and in and out of the garden. She doesn’t like loud noises or quick movements, and will rush off to her safe place to hide.

Wonderful with the resident cat. Happy to let him give head rubs!

Glenda could live with dog savvy teenagers.

Glenda is just starting to learn the joy of playing with toys, and enjoys chewing on crinkle sheep’s ear! She absolutely adores playing with the resident dogs, running, jumping and zooming around!

Glenda will wear a harness and lead, and is getting used to walking wearing them.

She currently sleeps in her dog bed next to foster parent’s bed and loves to jump up for morning cuddles!

She toilets outside and has started to make little cries to say she needs to be let out.

Glenda eats separately from the resident dogs, to have space and time to eat. She knows treat time now, and will wait with the other dogs for a little piece of cheese!

Glenda would need a home with someone around most of the time, and crucially, at least one gentle, friendly dog to learn from, and play with. She is a shy girl who will rely on her dog sibling to help her build confidence and trust in her new human family. Glenda plays like a puppy, all flappy paws and rolling, so a playful, young dog would be perfect! Glenda needs a safe, secure garden in which to continue her training, and to be free to explore and play. A constantly busy home would be overwhelming for her, she needs the predictability of routine and time in order to grow and flourish into the dog she should be.

Betsy D2024-08

  • Needs a resident dog
  • Good with cats
  • Older sensible children

Betsy is a 7 year old Maltese cross Bichon who as an ex breeder is scared of most things. She won’t approach you unless you’re with another dog and then she’ll let you smooth her.

Veterinary history to be discussed.

Betsy is fine with cats.

Betsy could live with older, quiet, sensible children.

Betsy is starting to show an interest in toys and likes to carry them like they are one of her puppies. She likes to take them to her bed or even hide them.

She has not been out for a walk yet as she is not fully vaccinated and foster mum has not been practicing in the garden as Betsy needs a little more time to decompress.

Betsy sleeps on the bed with foster mum and the other dogs. She will sleep all night and has been dry all night.

House training is still a work in progress but she is getting there. She needs a routine and the other dogs in the home to learn from.

Betsy prefers to eat on her own.

Betsy needs a quiet home with another dog and people with an understanding of ex breeders who will allow her time to decompress and support her as she transitions into her future as an adored fur baby.

Georgie D2024-09

  • Resident dog
  • Probably fine with cats
  • Older teenage children

Georgie is an 8 year old Shitzu ex stud boy. Although he is unsure of humans, with gentle slow movements he will sit and let you approach and smooth him. He has not yet been out on the lead as he is not yet fully vaccinated but he is happy walking around the garden on one.

Georgie is a laid back little fella who just likes the finer comforts in life now he’s had a taste of it. He loves to lay in his new warm doggie bed and is quite happy staying there and chilling most of the day. He’s happy to lay by himself and sometimes will snuggle with the resident dog.

Georgie has not been tested with cats but foster mum doesn’t think he would have a problem with them.

Older teenage children due to loud sudden movements from younger children scaring him.

Georgie has not played with toys yet as he’s not sure how to nor has he played with the other dogs.

Georgie has access to foster mums bedroom and although he’s allowed on the bed he prefers to take himself off in his doggie bed where he sleeps all night.

Georgie is pretty much toilet trained when he has access to the garden but he can have the odd accident at times.

Georgie loves his food and shows no food aggression

Georgie is looking for a quiet home with humans that are happy for him to chill and enjoy this new life he’s found. He would like a resident dog to show him all the things he hasn’t learnt yet and to let him snuggle next to them if he feels unsure.

Sinead -D2024-06

  • Needs a resident dog
  • Fine with cats
  • Children 9 and over
  • Patient owners whilst she decompresses

Curved spine which affects her gait poor skin condition

Sinead is a 3 year old Dachshund who loves being hugged but currently wont approach for attention. She hasn’t had the best experience with people so far but is willing and desperate to be loved. She currently approaches crouched down and will straight away roll on her back and show you her belly. Her tail however is constantly wagging sometimes so hard it bleeds a little she really just wants and gives love.

Medical history to be discussed.

Sinead is shy and scared but extremely loving. She will choose to be asleep huddled under blankets or cushions but is slowly coming out of her shell and is beginning to cheekily hide a sock or slipper. She has now worked out that if she cries someone will carry her and she can bend them to her will and is loving having someone run around after her. Foster mum has now cottoned on to her mind control tricks and is resisting – just!!!!

Sinead ignores the cat.

She could be homed with children over 9 as she would not be able to understand playing.

She is not confident enough to play with other dogs yet but does love to cuddle with other dogs.

She hasn’t been on a lead at all as she is still weary of being outside in case she doesn’t get to go inside again. She is fine wearing a harness and her confidence at finding her new place in the world will come with time and love.

She currently sleeps on foster mum’s bed cuddled up with Foster parents and other dogs.

Toilet training is a work in progress. She knows what she should do but as all daxis she doesn’t like being out in the rain or cold.

Sinead doesn’t like eating around others as she is very submissive. She prefers wet food and does not really eat dry food. Foster mum is trying to combine the dry food with a little wet food and gravy mix.

Sinead needs a quieter home with a resident dog. She is not super active but will enjoy a little pootle we are sure once she finds her paws. She would also prefer someone who is home most of the time.

Shane D20254-05

  • Needs a resident dog
  • Brave dog savvy cat ot no cat
  • Children 8 and over
  • Owners who are around most of the time

Shane is a 5 and a half year old mini Dachshund described by his foster mum as a lovely little man who can initially be quite shy but he loves being picked up and cuddled. He loves nothing more than cwtching in as close as possible. So if you’re looking for a snuggle buddy Shane is your man.

He will play with a ball if you throw it for him but hasn’t worked out that playing with other dogs is just as much fun yet. Being a sausage in new surroundings he will bark at people passing the house but if someone comes to door will hide. He does eventually put his head around the door of the room the person is in and decide if it safe to come and say hello.

He hasn’t been out on a walk yet due to not having full jabs and needing time to adjust to his new surroundings.

He is okay with the resident cat but does like to bark at him so unless you have a strong willed dog savvy cat its probably best not to have a cuddly Shane in your home.

He is okay with children 8 and over.

Like all daxis Shane likes to sleep as close to his human as possible. As he is still decompressing, he is currently sleeping a lot and is slowly coming out of his shell. He also loves cuddling up with doggy friends.

Toilet training is a work in progress he knows what to do but doesn’t like the cold or wet.

Shane eats quite fast and is good with treats but is a little submissive when you approach him with them. We would recommend he has a slow feeder in his forever home so he tastes his food rather than inhaling it.

Shane needs a quieter home as he can get a little startled. He would be fine with an older family where he can be properly adored and will reward you with total adoration, love and kisses. He would love pawrents who maybe work from home and he can be their PA. He needs a home with a resident dog who can help him come out of his shell and show him the way of the squirrel.

Bailey D2024 -001

  • Needs a resident dog or dogs
  • Children 5 and over
  • Owners willing to help her grow with training and confidence

Bailey is a 5 month old Beagle, pug cross described by her foster mum as a typical puppy who loves playing and chewing on her Kong and cow hoof. She is a happy go lucky girl who loves to chase toys and is a bundle of energy that she sometimes doesn’t know what to do with. She likes jumping on or over everything and at the moment is lacking in manners.

Saying this she does like her quiet times and loves a cuddle especially having her tummy rubbed. She loves listening to your voice and adores being praised and will fall asleep on your lap or shoulder. She is real love bug and adores human company.

Since coming into foster she has been enjoying exploring in the garden and generally likes to be where you are. She has not been cat tested in her current foster home but we were told that she previously lived with a cat.

Bailey can be homed with dog savvy children 5 and over who understands she is still a puppy and needs to learn boundaries and manners.

Bailey loves to play with toys and would like another dog or dogs to play with her in her new home.

Bailey walks well on lead but is wary of people and dogs coming towards her. She will need her new pawrents to advocate for her and make sure that every interaction with another dog or human is a pawsitive one until she can find her confidence.

Bailey currently sleeps downstairs in a crate and sleeps all night.

Toilet training is a work in progress she is almost there with only the odd accident. She just needs time to settle and a routine.

Bailey loves food and is first in the queue for dinner. She would benefit from a slow feeder to slow her down and she needs to learn a few manners when giving treats as she will snatch.

Bailey would suit any home where there is another dog. She needs her owners to dedicate tie to her with her training, socialisation and general manners. She is suer intelligent and quick to learn but needs that time put into her with lots of positive rewards. She is going to be an energetic young lady once settled and she gains her confidence.

Milka D2023-163

  • Needs a resident dog
  • Older children
  • Patient owners

Milka is a 7 year old Bichon described by her foster mum as a lovely little soul who is becoming friendlier by the day, loosing the worried look that she arrived with. She is now a lovely dog who is still wary at times and takes a while to trust but choses to come and ask for attention.

She is starting to come out of her shell and has started to steal the odd sock which makes foster mum laugh.  She can be cheeky, shy and scared in a short space of time but this normal as they decompress from an uncertain past into a loving environment.

Milka has not been tested with cats but has such a gentle nature with careful introductions to a dog savvy cat she should be fine.

Milka can be homed with older dog savvy children.

Milka  gets super excited when she sees her harness and stands lovely and still for it to be put on. She walks lovely on a lead and enjoys sniffing and looking about. She can still be a little wary of her surroundings. She is fine meeting other dogs when out on a walk, she can be a little wary at first if they approach her in an over exuberant manner but once they are calm, she is happy. She has been good in the home when other dogs have visited.

Milka currently sleeps downstairs on the sofa and sleeps all night.

She is 99% house trained she may have the odd accident on a puppy pad if the door cannot be opened in time.

She is a dainty eater and is not greedy. She enjoys her treats and will now happily take these from your hand.

Milka would be great in most homes that are not too busy. She is not a dog that will push herself forward and could easily be lost in a busy household. She barks initially when new people come in but will follow the others forward for attention as she knows it’s safe.

Rosie D2023-149

  • Can be an only dog
  • Can also live with another active dog
  • Older children
  • No cats
  • Active family willing to commit to her training and future

Rosie is a 12 to 18 month old spaniel cross described by her foster mum as great with everyone she has met both in and out of the home. She is very energetic and playful and is great with the resident dog. She loves to cuddle up with humans and dogs alike and has a very cheeky nature.

She cannot be homed with cats as she will chase them and needs to be homed with older dog savvy children.

Rosie plays with toys alone and loves a game of tug of war with the other dogs. She also loves playing with a ball and such like.

Rosie needs to continue her training in her forever home as she does pull on her harness when out and about. As a typical spaniel she loves to sniff and explore. She has been off lead on secure land that foster mum has and loves the freedom. She has a good recall and foster mum will crouch down to get her back on lead.

Rosie currently sleeps on foster mums bed and on the sofa in the daytime.

Rosie is almost housetrained. She forgets when she is playing or gets excited so needs a good routine to be taken out often with some yummy rewards when she has done good.

Rosie eats in a separate room to the resident dogs as she will rush her food and then want to steal everyone else’s food. We would recommend a slow feeder for Rosie so she can learn to take her time. She also needs training around the bowl being placed down as she gets over excited and will dive for the bowl. This is due to not having regular meals previously so will improve with time and patience.

Rosie can be rehomed with or without another dog but needs an active family who will commit to her and her future. She would benefit from attending puppy school and once she has mastered the basics would excel in any fileld. Like all dogs she will need time to settle and learn to trust her family but she is such a special girl it would be impossible not to fall in love with her at first sight.

Hocus D2023-138

  • Needs a resident dog
  • Older dog savvy children
  • Patient home

Hocus the Bichon is estimated to be around 8 years old and is described by her foster mum as a proper little homebody who would be quite happy to stay on the sofa all day cuddled up to you or in her bed dreaming of being the next Crufts champion.

She is a beautiful lady who is a little set in her ways. She loves her food and is happy to clean any other dogs plates. She is quite happy being left with another dog when her human slave is doing chores or shopping but gets stressed if left on her own with no company. She will follow you out into the garden if the weather is good but if it’s raining you can go on your own.

She is a bit deaf which makes her fearful outside but as a bonus when she’s asleep she’s asleep so you can do your drum practice without fear of waking her up.

Hocus wants to be centre of attention and will make sure she is the one closest to you. She will drape herself all over you if allowed but will also settle in her own space after sufficient cuddles. She can be cheeky but is a very ladylike gentle dog. Despite this she will stand up for herself if need be with newcomers.

Hocus is fine with other dogs and can be rehomed with older dog savvy children.

She doesn’t currently play with toys but does enjoy treats in a snuffle mat.

She loves having her harness on and walks nicely but doesn’t really enjoy it she is always looking around her which maybe due to her hearing issues.

She currently sleeps downstairs on the sofa but has also been on foster mums bed.

She is house trained but you need to keep on top of it making sure she goes outside regularly.

She is greedy with her food and will eat hers and others. We recommend she has a slow feeder in her forever home.

Hocus needs a quiet home with another dog and patient humans who will help her adjust to being a pet.

Churro D2023-170

  • Can be an only dog if owners around most of time
  • Could live with another calm resident dog
  • Great with cats
  • Dog savvy children 8 and over

Churro is a 3 year old Maltese described by her foster family as a cuddly but sensitive little girl. She is learning to trust but will still drop to her stomach to be picked up or move away (but her tail will be wagging). She is much improved from when she first arrived in foster but like all great loves good things come to those who wait and Churro’s love and trust is worth waiting for.

Her favourite thing is to sit either in her bed (she is very proud to have a bed to call her own) or on the settee next to mum but entering any room she will turn to check your following. She has a very waggy tail and seems to trot along with a big smile. She loves sitting in the room when foster mum works from home.

Churro is great with people in the home once she knows them but will stay close at the beginning until she feels safe. Out on a walk she feels less secure and will either avoid people, move over next to foster mum or drop onto her belly where she needs to be picked up if she is to meet people. She has walked on the beach and in countryside but is still quite skittish with her default action being flight so will need to be walked on a harness and lead until she is settled.

Churro is great with the resident cat.

She can be homed with dog savvy children 8 and over.

Churro saw a few visitors over Christmas and was very happy on the knee of foster mum’s 8 year old nephew for attention. She even allowed the one year old near her but this was closely supervised.

She has recently started playing with the resident dog in the home but isn’t really interested. She currently doesn’t play alone with toys and doesn’t understand if a human instigates play with toys.

She does however love running around the garden and bounces around like a little lamb.

Churro currently sleeps at the bottom of her human slaves bed and sleeps all night despite foster mum snoring.

House training is ongoing and she is starting to toilet on command

Churro has come to understand treats and knows she gets them as a reward. She doesn’t bicker or pout over treats or food and is fed in a different room to make sure she eats it all.

Churro needs a quieter home and either as an only dog or another non dominant dog. She will go for walk and needs to continue this as it will help build her confidence but taken at her own pace. She loves cuddling and will need a human at home with her as much as possible as she looks to humans rather than another dog for security. She travels really well and enjoyed being away with her humans over the Christmas period. She is a lovely girl who is just going to need to take time to feel safe.

Olive is a 12 week old Husky mix described by her foster family as full of energy and very mischievous. She was very poorly when she came into rescue and is a very lucky girl to still be with us. She missed out on her initial manners training so is a little behind but is keen to learn.

Being a baby she is very playful and mostly good natured but is teething and using her mouth to explore her world. This is being worked on and will need to continue in her forever home.

When her batteries have run out Olive is cuddly and enjoys lots of attention and interaction. If left to her own devices she can become inquisitive and almost as naughty as the Elf on the shelf.

Olive is not cat or small furry tested but is young enough to learn with a dog savvy cat.

Olive can be rehomed with teenage children as both she and the children need a lot of training to become well rounded individuals. Olive can be boisterous and will nip if her energy is not challenged in the right direction. She has had very little training so far and her new pawrents really need to take the time to get to know her, set boundaries and use positive reinforcement to help her learn and understand.

Olive plays with dog toys alone or as part of her interaction with people

Olive is crate trained and currently sleeps in one overnight.

Toilet training is a work in progress she will do most poos outside but gets distracted and can forget to wee outside. She needs to build a schedule and be taken out regularly with lots of positive encouragement when she has done well.

Olive needs a breed experienced home or a home with knowledge of large breed dogs. She is going to be very active and will need a family who can keep up with her. Older children who can help with the training and rules and boundaries set in place to help her grow into a rescue ambassador. Olive will need to attend puppy classes.

QUIET AND MATURE CATS ONLY

Spike has had some new photos taken for his dating profile.

He is looking for a female guardian angel 😇 as his new owner, who will make him 5* meals, tickle his ears and adjust his cushions as needed.

Spike’s main activities are sleeping and eating, occasionally being sufficiently motivated to sit on the windowsill and watch the world 🌎 go by.

He is an absolute delight.

He loves company, puts his paw up for attention and enjoys a good chat.

He’s a wonderful character 🙂 Sometimes he enjoys his own company and likes to be left alone to cwtch up on a fleecy blanket to sleep.

If you feel you can give Spike his forever home please fill in the form below.

He’s waiting to hear from you.

Spike is neutered, litter trained, vaccinated, microchipped and up to date with flea and worm treatment.
