Pebbles is a little lady who needs someone special to help her discover that the world really isn’t such a scary place. 💕 She is a quiet, gentle girl who is still very unsure of people, particularly inside the home, and she needs a patient, calm family who will allow her to build her confidence at her own pace.
When Pebbles first arrived in foster, she was very wary of her surroundings and people. She will now approach cautiously and will allow her foster mum to stroke her, but she can still become overwhelmed, back away and watch from a safe distance. She is making progress, but she needs an understanding home that won’t expect too much too soon.
She would benefit enormously from having another kind, friendly and confident dog in her new home. Pebbles is very comfortable around other dogs and we believe a friendly canine companion will help her learn how to relax, play and enjoy life, while also giving her reassurance around her new humans. 🐶❤️
She has only recently been spayed, so she hasn’t yet had the opportunity to go out on walks and meet people away from the home. She does sit in the hallway watching the door, so we think there is a curious little dog in there waiting to discover the big wide world!
Pebbles loves the garden and can be quite the little madam when it’s time to come back inside! 😂 She has even started taking toys out into the garden, although she’s still figuring out exactly what she’s supposed to do with them.
She isn’t currently a fan of her harness or lead, although she will happily potter around the garden wearing one. These are all things her new family will need to introduce gradually and positively as her confidence grows.
🏡 What Pebbles is looking for:
- A quiet, patient family home
- Another friendly, confident dog is essential
- Savvy children aged 10+ who understand that Pebbles needs space and time
- Someone prepared to let her confidence develop at her own pace
- A family who will continue her gentle socialisation and help her discover the joys of walks and the wider world
Pebbles is housetrained and sleeps happily wherever she chooses during the day. At night, she has the run of the hallway and kitchen. She is also comfortable eating alongside other dogs. She can be hesitant about taking treats but will occasionally accept one from her foster mum’s hand — another small sign that trust is slowly growing. ❤️
She has not been cat or small-furry tested, so we cannot currently say how she would be around them.
🩺 Veterinary information
Pebbles’ veterinary history will be discussed with potential adopters. She requires further dental treatment, which will be covered by the charity, but her new owners must be prepared to take her to Maesglas Vets for this treatment.
Pebbles isn’t looking for a home that expects an instant cuddle buddy. She’s looking for someone who will see the frightened little girl underneath her uncertainty and give her the time, patience and security she needs to flourish.
If you can offer Pebbles a quiet home, a lovely canine friend and plenty of patience, we would love to hear from you. 🐾❤️
