CAN BE AN ONLY DOG OR LIVE WITH ANOTHER CALM SIMILAR SIZE DOG

OLDER DOG SAVVY CHILDREN

NO CATS

Obi is an 8 year old Chihuahua that was handed in by previous owners due a change in circumstances. He is the sweetest looking little dog with the cutest sassy little walk. He has a big character hidden inside a tiny body. He has the most endearing little face which you cannot help but fall in love with and he would love a home where he would be the centre of attention.

Obi has grade 3/4 heart murmur which requires no medication currently.

Obi loves people but can be wary when he first meets someone and can sometimes react if he feels threatened or scared. It doesn’t take long for him to recognise a friendly approach and once he knows you, he loves you and will follow you around asking for cuddles and to be picked up for a fuss. He is learning to respond to commands and loves a treat as encouragement.

Obi hasn’t met any children in his foster home. He would suit a home with no children or older dog savvy children.

Obi is currently in foster with four cats but he really doesn’t like sharing his home with them. He will bark and chase them and is not deterred if they retaliate. For this reason, it is best he is not rehomed with cats.

Obi and the other dog he lives’ with like to spend a lot of time running in the garden together. Indoors they are a bit boisterous. This could be that they have been used to spending lots of time outside. When he was without the other dog, he was much calmer in the house and settled nicely with his foster Mum lying next to her or on her lap whilst she worked. He is used to being crated and settles in a crate when his foster Mum goes out and sleeps in a crate overnight. Obi is housetrained to a degree but will occasionally soil inside if he is left. This will need to be worked on. Obi is a bit of an escape artist and will find even the smallest of spaces to squeeze his teeny tiny body through if it means he can go off on a little adventure on his own.

Obi isn’t fully vaccinated yet but we understand that he had lead walks before his vaccinations lapsed.

Obi could be rehomed as an only dog providing adopters have lots of time to spend with him and make him feel secure. Chi experience would be an advantage. A secure garden essential. He could also be rehomed with another very calm dog preferably another chi. He does have lots of love to give and would enjoy being pampered and spoilt. He is delightful character, a tiny dog with the heart of a lion. Could you open your heart to this little Prince?
