Hapus D2024-122

  • Needs a resident dog to learn from
  • Ignores cats
  • Dog savvy children over 10
  • Patient family who will give her time to blossom

Hapus is an 8.5 month old Bichon who has really come out of her shell lately. She is loving cuddles on foster mums lap and loves to sleep close to her at night. Foster mum is often awoken to a furry little white thing staring at her lovingly. Her current favourite hobby is following foster mum around the house and garden.

This lovely sweet girl loves a cuddle. She’s also discovering toys can be great fun. She likes to chew bones and roll a ball around and when she has the zoomies she’s like a rocket running round! Trusting humans can still be a challenge for her and she can get scared and shy but given time to process, she learns to accept others. If cheese is involved, she can be sitting on a new person’s lap in under 5 minutes!

Hapus has no problem wearing a harness and enjoys walks which are on the quieter side. We are sure as  her confidence grows, she will start enjoying going further afield and we can’t wait to hear about  her adventures. As with most ex breeders she can become nervous when out and about and she needs support and time to process what is going on around her. This way all her adventures are positive and she learns to understand that people and the outdoor world is not going to hurt her.

Hapus has been cat tested and as she’s the same size as a fully grown cat she takes them in her stride and ignores them.

Hapus will do well in a home where children are old enough to understand that she takes time to feel comfortable and that they initially would need to wait until she feels she can approach them. Whilst acknowledging this can often depend on the temperament of the children it would probably be best if the children are aged 10 plus.

Hapus loves to watch other dogs and were confident with the right little partner in crime she will be running around with them in no time.

She currently sleeps on her foster carers bed along with the other resident dog and sleeps all night long.

Hapus is completely house trained and will bark to go outside to toilet.  Currently she prefers company when outside in the garden as she can be surprised by new sounds and will run back into the house if she’s uncertain of what’s going on.

Currently, Hapus is fed in a quiet spot, she has no guarding issues but were not sure if food has been used as a way to ‘capture’ her in the past and she can become nervous and not eat. Foster mum is also making sure that she eats all her food as she can easily be pushed off her food by another dog.

Hapus will do well in most homes as long as it’s calm whilst she settles in. She’s incredibly sweet and will blossom even more with lots of love and a little patience. She needs a resident dog to continue her attempts at breaking the land zoomy speed record with and to have someone to continue to learn from.
