FRANK NEEDS TO BE AN ONLY DOG

OLDER DOG SAVVY CHILDREN

NO CATS

ACTIVE ADOPTERS WHO WILL INVEST TIME IN HIS ONGOING TRAINING

Calling all active adopters who want a dog with energy to burn! Frank is a very active 2 year old bulldog who loves to strut around the house and be involved in everything you do. He loves to explore and will require some training with his recall and manners in the home.

Frank doesn’t like cuddles but he does love a good lower back scratch and will stay for ages whilst you are doing it. He has the odd stubborn moment but what bulldog doesn’t!

Frank has no known health issues.

Frank likes people and is happy to be touched. He has been fine when around children on walks and with a 14 year old in the foster home. Whilst Frank has shown some good progress with another dog, he would be better to be homed as an only dog.

Frank is house trained but will potentially mark his territory when first in the house. He has been sleeping in the kitchen with his bed and a baby gate.

He can be possessive with food and toys but does love to play with his big knot rope and will enjoy a session of tug of war for good periods of time. He like to play with soft toys but quickly dispatches them. He also enjoys Yak Chews.

Frank was left for long periods of time in his previous home and was upset so we would advise that he is only left alone for a couple of hours maximum when not sleeping.

Frank does pull a little on walks in his enthusiasm to get to where you are going and based on how he is in the home he will need more lead and recall training. He also has a tendency to want to chase cars so does pull on the lead when he sees them.

Frank is a fantastic dog with a big personality who deserves a home that will love him and pay him lots of attention. He is still young and needs someone to invest time and patience into his training and future. He will make someone an amazing pet.

Neutered Male

Microchipped, 1st Vaccination and up to date flea and wormer

LARGE WORKING DOG BREED DESIRABLE

DOG SAVVY CHILDREN

What can we say?! She’s a Lab, she’s a puppy, she’s adorable… Barley is 17 weeks old and the sweetest little girl who is very smart. She’s shown lots of potential already with training, which will need to be continued in her forever home. She is a rambunctious pup who is full of beans and will need plenty of socialising with well-behaved dogs to help her become a rescue ambassador. Fun and games will be needed to keep her brain active and stop her getting bored, she’s a truly delightful puppy.

Barley was born with Pulmonic Stenosis, a heart condition which was corrected by surgery at 13 weeks old. She’s just had her check up at the vets and everything is great. She will now need annual check ups.

Barley loves everyone she meets and has become a much loved girl in the neighbourhood. She has met children on her walks and behaved well whilst under supervision, due to her young age we would recommend she be homed with dog savvy children.

Barley has encountered cats on her walks and is absolutely scared stiff of them… her tail goes between her legs and she hides behind her foster mum!

Barley loves to play with the other dogs in her foster home, she loves toys, particularly a ball and is very playful, she is currently teething and does nip occasionally when over excited but this is being worked on. She’s mostly house trained with only the occasional accident

Barley loves her walks, particularly in the forest on a pack walk, she has good recall even when distracted by the other dogs.

Labradors are notorious for being destructive if left to their own devices, if you’ve seen Marley and Me, consider yourself warned! So with this in mind, our little Barley needs a home where there’s someone around most of the day, someone with the patience and willingness to continue with her training and be active enough to take her on lots adventures. She is going to need annual check ups with the specialist vet in Marlow so potential adopters will need to be happy to travel for these. A family with large breed experience would be desirable. Barley could live with or without another dog but will need to be kept active.

Will be adopted on a neutering and training agreement

Microchipped, Vaccinated and up to date flea and wormer

Adopters will need to travel to Marlow annually for Barleys check ups

2 YEAR OLD NEUTERED FEMALE

COULD BE AN INDOOR OR OUTDOOR CAT

CAN LIVE WITH ANOTHER CAT AFTER CAREFUL INTRODUCTIONS

CAN LIVE WITH DOGS

Elkie is only 2 years old and came to us heavily pregnant needing a safe place to have her last litter of babies. She’s a single mother who now wants to leave behind her party girl days and have a quiet life with a loving family. After a period of adjustment she could go outside, she has shown interest in wanting to go out. Having finished nursing her kittens her affectionate side is now starting to show. She is a tiny little lady with bags of character you cannot see from her pics just how little she is.

She is a perfectly lovely cat; she will make a lovely lap cat when settled. She has a sweet temperament and is even tempered not being too shy or extrovert. Did we mention she likes laps and fusses.

Elkie has not had direct contact with children but we think she will be fine with older calm or cat savvy children.

She showed protectiveness of her kittens but this was her job. Now that her job is over she could probably live with a gentle cat with sensible introductions

Elkie is fine with dogs and has bee perfect in her foster home using the litter tray and the scratching post.

She could be an Indoor or outdoor cat and is cat flap savvy. She’s a really easy cat and is going to make a fabulous addition to any family.

RESIDENT DOG OF A SIMILAR SIZE AND TEMPERAMENT

OLDER DOG SAVVY CHILDREN

NOT CAT TESTED

OAKLEY WILL BE ADPTED ON AN ASSISTED ADOPTION

Oakley is a one of a kind 8 year old Maltese, his cute face just melts your heart, he has the loveliest nature and is the perfect little lap dog, he will sit on your lap all day if you’d let him. Oakley needs a home that understands he has some quirky behaviours that do not bother him or his foster family.

Oakley has wonky back legs but this doesn’t stop him and he just needs gentle walks. He also has poor sight on the left side which doesn’t require any treatment and will not worsen. He also has luxating patella’s on his back legs which again doesn’t need treatment he copes very well but is just a little wobbly

Oakley loves the simple things in life which for him is a person to call his own and a nice lap to cuddle on. He’s a very easy dog to look after and ozzes buckets of love. He absolutely loves his food and gets soo excited at dinner time. He doesn’t have any teeth so just needs soft food.

Oakley has not been tested with young children and due to his quirks we would suggest older children that he can cuddle up to but won’t be too demanding with play.

Oakley has not been cat tested.

Oakley is fully house trained and will let you know when he needs to go out. He hasn’t been destructive at all and hasn’t shown any interest in toys yet, but I’m sure he will at some point. Oakley loves exploring the garden and enjoys a nice little sunbathe close to his humans or even better would be on his human’s lap in the sun.

Oakley is good to go walkies but will only be able to go on short gentle walks. He has been in the car and is okay, he shakes a little at first but quickly settles. Oakley has been very good meeting dogs on walks and with dogs that he has met in the home.

Oakley would like a furever home where he will have lots of love and cuddles, tasty food and treats and a human who will adore him and his quirks. He would like older children to cuddle that will not be too demanding. A home with a similar size dog to cuddle up to when his human is busy doing other things.

CAN BE AN ONLY DOG OR LIVE WITH A RESIDENT PLAYFUL DOG

OLDER DOG SAVVY CHILDREN

NOT CAT OR SMALL FURRY TESTED

WILL BE ADOPTED ON A NEUTERING AND TRAINING AGREEMENT

Hello, my name is Bramble and im a 20 week old Yorkie cross poodle and I am a full of fun and very lovable. My foster mummy says that I am adorable but a bit cheeky too! I need a family who will understand that I still have a lot to learn. I will need time and patience to grow into the most amazing family pet. I am looking for my forever home could that be you ?

My foster mummy says I am a typical busy puppy who is into everything and you only have to worry when I’m quiet and you can’t see me! I can also be a bit shy as I am still learning about the world and lots of things are still very strange and scary.
I will need someone who can help me make sense of it all, with patience and time to teach me that there are lots of exciting things to see and do. I am looking for someone who has yummy food and a comfortable soft sofa. It will also help if you like puppy licks and cwtches. If this is you ?… then read on.

The vet said I am a fit and healthy puppy with no problems. I have a healthy heart, good teeth, clean ears and although I am a bit underweight my foster mummy is working on feeding me up! I do like my new kibble. I am having 4 meals a day to help my small tummy cope with this delicious food. I also like sardines and am learning about a lickimat and yummy treats. I am very lucky as I have additional dew claws on my back feet which the vet said isn’t a problem – I just need to remember to tell the groomer to trim them now and again. The vet said I was very good on my health check and I will make someone a very lovable pet.

My foster mummy has given me a bath – twice! To be honest I wasn’t keen and I made sure mummy got very wet too! I will need to learn that grooming is good for me and will probably need a regular trim as my hair can get a bit flyway!

I am starting to trust my foster mummy and will give her a big greeting in the morning, wagging my tail and getting excited. I am also pleased to see my foster nanny who has seen me every day since I came to this home. With people who are less familiar or new to me, I can be a bit nervous but if you leave me come to you and sit calmly, I will say hello when I am ready. I am just learning that people are fun to be with and need lots of experiences of meeting people in a calm and controlled way.

I am not sure about young children as they can be a bit loud and move very quickly. This can make me nervous and I then like to go into my bed or hide behind my foster mummy.  With older children (over 8) who can be calmer and who are dog savvy I feel more comfortable and will let them give me a chin rub or puppy cwtch. Again my foster mum says that over time , with more experience she is sure I will come to learn that children can be my best friend.

I have not lived with cats or other small animals so I really don’t know what they are. As a young puppy I will need to be introduced to these carefully and under supervision so that I don’t get over excited and bring out my poor puppy manners!

I have already learnt my bedtime routine and after going out for my last toilet break I will then sleep all night in my puppy pen with my sister. I can sleep for at least 7 hours with no problem. I like my sleep! I have been dry and clean all night but have to go straight out in the morning to avoid an accident! Toilet training is ongoing but I will use a puppy pad if I am desperate and can’t remember where I should go or if the door is closed. My foster mummy gets very excited when I take myself outside to go to the toilet and she gives me a little cheer., telling me I am a good girl. I am not sure what all the fuss is about but is she is happy then I am too!

Around the house I like to explore everything and can get myself into very small spaces! I also like to try and jump onto things. My foster mums say’s for a little dog I can get very high! I have no problem launching myself onto the sofa with very little regard for whoever else is sitting there! I also like to chew things and I have lots of antlers and chew toys which I have started to use instead of foster mummy’s toes and table! I am also a good climber and the first day I managed to get myself out of the puppy pen by climbing. My foster mummy said that I shouldn’t do that as it was dangerous so now, she has a top on the pen and I have to use the door. That’s ok as I now quite like going into my puppy pen as it’s a safe space for me to rest. sleep and eat. The door is open in the day and sometimes I take myself into the pen to have a quiet five minutes.

My favourite thing to do at home is sniff in the garden and roll on the grass. There are just so many smells and I like to help foster mummy with the gardening by chewing the strawberries off the plants. I am very picky though as I only like the red ones!

My foster mum tells everyone that I am a typical 5mth old puppy in the house – exploring everything and trying to get into mischief if left alone for longer than a few minutes!

I have heard lots of strange sounds in my foster home – the washing machine, the TV box and the hoover. I wasn’t afraid of any of them but when foster mummy was singing along to the radio, I was very worried. I rushed up to her as I thought she was in pain and started jumping up at her to see if she was ok. So, I am looking for someone who has good taste in music or who will give me ears plugs if you want to sing!

The garden is one of my favourite places with lots of smells and space to have a run and chase the big dogs or my sister. I have been using the harness and lead in the garden but I am not keen on them. I prefer to go where I want and not to be led by foster mummy. Lead walking will take lots of practice!

I am not a good traveller in the car and journeys longer than a few minutes can make me sick. I have managed a five minute journey to my foster nannies house without being unwell but it is something I will need to get used to if I am going to get out and about with my new family. In the car I use a carry case to travel in to keep me safe.

I have visited my foster nannies house and have enjoyed going somewhere different with new smells. She also has another dog that I can have a play with so I think with more practice I will start to enjoy being out.

My ideal home will be someone who has time and energy to help me learn about the world. They will understand that I will make some mistakes but they will treat me with kindness and give me positive experiences so I build my confidence over time.
I will need someone who is home for most of the day, as I have lots still to learn. I can be left in my puppy pen for about an hour with a lickimat or toy to occupy me but I prefer it when someone is around. I can’t really be trusted to have the run of the house as there are plenty of things to chew and that won’t be safe for me. My foster mummy says I am a typical puppy – 90 miles an hour one minute and then fast asleep the next. If you think you can give me a lovely home and teach me what I need to learn them please get in touch.

RESIDENT DOG WHO WILL TOLERATE A BOISTEROUS PUPPY

OLDER DOG SAVVY CHILDREN

COMES WITH A NEUTERING AND TRAINING AGREEMENT

Rex is a 19 week old Vizla cross Labrador. He is a lovable character who loves to sit on your lap and get attention. He loves to retrieve things from the garden like stones and sticks which are quickly swapped for a toy or antler. He will need plenty of activities and games to keep him occupied he is only a puppy who is teething.

Fully vaccinated.
Rex has no known health issues and will come with a neutering agreement.

Rex is a very friendly dog who will jump up for attention. He is not shy whatsoever.

Rex has been tested with visiting children and was gentle and enjoyed the attention but with his jumping and the size we would recommend older dog savvy children.

He has not been cat or small furry tested.

Being a baby after a long time of playing he likes a good sleep. In fact, he sleeps so deeply that he falls off the sofa and his foster family has to hold his head up. He loves to snuggle in his bed to sleep but with some of his chewing tendencies he has been going in a crate in the same room as his foster family which keeps him calm and he will happily go to sleep.

He has learnt a few commands and his house training has been great with no accidents in the house. Rex is always around when food is involved and eats his food like it’s his last meal. We have tried to slow this down by using puzzle games to put his food into.

Lead walking is a work in progress and he is a bit unsure but is getting used to the outside world, he likes to greet humans more than dogs when out on walks. Rex is ok in the car and is happy to be buckled in with a dog lead and will sit and sleep through the journey.

Rex needs an active home with lots of attention and playtime. We recommend a dog with him in his home as he loves to initiate play and follows the dogs and humans around the home. He needs plenty of socialisation and training and the right home to give him all his needs.

CALM RESIDENT DOG OF A SIMILAR SIZE

OLDER DOG SAVVY CHILDREN

PATIENT HOME IDEALLY WITH EXPERIENCE OF EX BREEDING SOGS.

Ffion is our 5 year old little Bichon who has settled really well in her foster home. She enjoys a little trot around the garden and sunbathe. She loves being with the other dogs and has learned a lot from them. She loves attention and cuddling on the sofa as long as it comes with a little chin tickle. She’s a quiet girl very undemanding who enjoys watching the world go by. When not running neighbourhood watch from the security of the house she likes to relax with cuddles up to her human or in the garden in the sun.

Ffion has some health issues that will be discussed with potential adopters and she will be on an assisted adoption to cover her pre-existing conditions.

Ffion can be nervous when you initially meet her and takes a little time to bond but once she trusts you and feels safe in her surroundings, she will pour all her love and trust into you. Her foster mum says nothing worth while ever came easy and having Ffion trust you is worth the wait.

Ffion can be nervous around smaller excitable children so we recommend older dog savy children who would give her the space she needs to come to them when she is ready,

Ffion has not been cat or small furry tested but due to her temperament she is likely to be ok if introduced properly

Ffion’s house training is still a work in progress and she is almost there. She doesn’t give any signs that she needs to go to the toilet, so regular trips to the garden are required for her to succeed. Be prepared though as once she’s in the garden she likes to feel the grass under her toes and to spend time enjoying smelling the flowers and watching the birds.

Ffion has been to vets and travels well in the car but must be secured correctly for her safety.

Ffion hasn’t been out and about in the world yet and will need some practice with lead walking and confidence building to help her thrive. Once she does get to explore the big wide world she’s going to love going out.

Ffion needs a quiet home with a resident dog or dogs who can show her the joys of being an adored pet. A furry family who can help build her confidence and teach her how to dog. Ffion needs someone who is around most of the time and can invest in helping her become the dog she has always wanted to be. Owners will need to be patient to gain her trust and confidence and help her settle into a routine so she feels safe.

RESIDENT DOG OF A SIMILAR NATURE

OLDER DOG SAVVY CHILDREN

PATIENT OWNERS THAT ARE HOME MOST OF THE TIME

Lilac is a 5 year old Shih tzu x Bichon who is described by her foster mum as a sweet natured little girl. She adores her food and is always first in the queue for food and treats. She is tiny but don’t be fooled by her size as she has a huge character and pushes her way in front for goodies.

Lilac currently sleeps in a bed with her two foster siblings and is quiet all night

House training has been easy as she gets taken into the garden every three hours and there have been no accidents. She will go into the garden if her foster mum is with her but won’t go on her own even if foster mums’ dogs are out there.

Lilac bonds quickly to her forever person, however she is very wary of new people and therefore a quieter home where someone can work on this issue.

Lilac is not cat or small furry tested and has not met any children.

Lilac doesn’t walk on a lead yet but will allow foster mum to put the lead on her but she will just sit down.

Lilac loves to cuddle with his foster mum and adores the attention from her.

The ideal home for Lilac would be someone who is home most of the time with a calm resident dog or dogs. She needs a secure garden that she can explore with her forever human in sight. A family who is experienced with nervous ex breeding dogs. Owners who will be patient and let her come around when she is ready and not to force her to do anything.

RESIDENT DOG OF A SIMILAR NATURE

QUIET HOME WITH OWNERS HOME MOST OF THE TIME

OLDER DOG SAVVY CHILDREN

NOT CAT TESTED

Clover is an 8 year old mini dachshund that is described by her foster mum as a quiet, gentle little lady. She thrives on human contact, gives lots of cuddles and eye contact. She loves nothing more than sitting on your lap being stroked. She has most of her energy in the morning and likes to go out in to the garden for a little explore and particularly likes to sit in a sunny spot enjoying the warmth.

She is very shy with people she doesn’t know and needs to gain their trust which can take a little time, when she has trust in you she is happy to interact and follow you around. If someone comes in the house, she tucks her tail in with nerves by when she is stroked she soon comes around and enjoys the attention. She is very gentle with people in general.

There are dog savvy teenagers in the home that are aware that she is a quiet, gentle lady and understand how to treat her and she enjoys being cuddled by them both. I am unsure how she would be with younger children.

Clover has not been small furry or cat tested

Clover is so quite in the house you could almost forget she is there; this is until foster mum can hear her little feet coming toward her. She is toilet trained and goes to the rug at the door when she needs. Clover likes to spend most of her day lounging in her bed or sitting in the garden when she is not on someone lap having cuddles. Her bed is her safe cosy space where she likes to snooze day and night. The word that comes to mind to describe Clover is “Sweet”.

Clover is unable to go out for a walk at the moment until she has all her jabs, although I have a sling bag that she goes in for a little carry and you can see that she is enjoying watching the world around her and sniffing all the new smells. She cant wait to smell trees and bark at squirrels.

Clover needs a quite home with someone that enjoys small walks and can spend a lot of time with her. She is an lady that likes a peaceful place to have lots of naps preferably in the sun. Someone that can give her lots of time and cuddles. She would be ok with teenage children that understand that she is a quiet little sausage and will let her come to them for fuss and attention. She would like the company of another dog or dogs to show her the way and help her become a rescue breed ambassador.

MAX COULD LIVE WITH A SIMILAR RESIDENT DOG OR AS AN ONLY DOG

A FAMILY WHO WILL TAKE HIM LEISURELY WALKS

DOG SAVVY CHILDREN

Max is an 8 year old Chi X Corgi who came into rescue through no fault of his own and a change in circumstances for his previous owner who wanted to do the right thing and they did. He has clearly been adored and was a much-loved pet. He is a sweet little man who will pester for a cuddle. He likes to stand on his back legs and waving his front paws at you.

Max has obviously been spoilt rotten in his previous home, and why not that’s what every dog deserves. We think he has been eating a lot of human food and is taking time to adjust to dog food and can be a bit picky but were confident as soon as he gets into a routine and is getting regular exercise he will settle and be back to his princely status in no time.

Max has not been on many walks yet but it is clear that he is just desperate to explore the outside world again. He’s looking forward to little walks in the parks and the woods where he can see the squirrels and call them names. He has been wonderful on lead when going to the vets and burses.

Max needs a secure garden for him to enjoy pottering around, sunbathing and to generally be wherever you are. He likes to toilet in the garden and has been clean in the house.

He as a heart murmur that the vets need to be made aware of so they can monitor when having his check-ups.

Max has been great with other dogs but has not been cat or small furry tested.

He was, an only dog and would be OK as an only dog with a retired couple!

Max has met his foster mums’ children and grandchildren and has been good with them all.

Basically, middle aged max seeks a middle-aged family for nice walks in the park or country. Somewhere he can sniff the grass and trees. He could live with a similar resident dog or be an only dog as he is a super laid-back boy. A family that can appreciates his dance moves when wanting attention and will occasionally let him watch strictly. BEN WILL BE AN ASSISTED ADOPTION WHICH WILL BE DISCUSSED WITH POTENTIAL NEW OWNERS

CAN LIVE WITH ANOTHER CAMLER DOR OR EQUALLY BE HAPPY ON HIS OWN

NEEDS A NICE RETIRMENT HOME WITH SHORT DAILY WALKS

Ben is a 14 year old border terrier that had a lot of health issues and was very unwell when he first came in to foster. Luckily his foster mum was there to nurse him through the tough times and the vets were amazing with him. Now that he’s all better he has a new lease of life. When he arrived, he was very thin with very little muscle but is now a good weight and he had good muscles. Ben is as deaf as a post; he’s had his ears cleaned out but he doesn’t react to anything including the other dogs barking.

Ben loves everyone and is even great with children but what he would really like is a retirement home where his forever humans will appreciate an older, calmer gentleman. Ben just plods around and likes to sleeps wherever he wants, his favourite places are a raised dog bed and the hallway where it’s cool. He likes a cuddle with his humans when they are on the sofa and equally likes to plod around the garden investigating and weeing on everything. He is clean in the house.

Ben has not been cat or small furry tested.

Ben has not been out on a walk due to his condition when he arrived and his medical treatments however, he gets very excited when he is put on a lead to go to the vet. He’s a lucky boy as his foster mum has a big garden and he loves a good mooch around and a doze in the sun dreaming of when he used to chase squirrels.

Ben’s perfect home would be with older people who don’t do long walks but a nice plod around the park to admire the ladies would be great. Ben was previously owned by an older man and he does show a preference for the male members of my family.

Ben’s condition will be discussed with potential adopters

Woody is a 3 year old terrier who would be an amazing addition to the right family. He is very loving and likes to be close to his foster family. One of his favourite things to do is watch Clarkson’s Farm on Tv and will sit there for hours next to you. Woody also likes a good chat over a cup of tea and biscuits, no barking just chatting. He is very friendly and likes all gentle attention

Woody doesn’t tend to eat much throughout the day but eats all his meal at tea time. He sleeps in his crate at night and is happy. Woody has only barked twice since he has been in foster, so he is not your typical needy terrier. Foster mum is a balloon decorator and was a little worried about how he would be if a balloon burst unexpectedly but there have been no problems at all.

Woody has really unusual markings like a flea bitten colour that makes him super special. Lots of people have commented on how handsome he is.  Apart from one or two accidents when he first arrived Woody does all his toileting outside in the garden. He has not chewed or picked up anything he shouldn’t whilst being in foster.

Woody is very outgoing but also very gentle, he is the perfect gentleman on four little legs. He loves people and will sit on their lap for lots of fuss and attention. He has only met one child whilst being in foster and was absolutely fine and sat close to them so she could stroke him.

Since being in foster Woody has been the perfect house guest and in the right home will thrive and make a great rescue ambassador. He hasn’t been on many walks yet due to not having had all his vaccinations but from his general behaviour and character he is going to just take it all in his stride.

Woody is such a good boy that he could be an only dog if he had lots of attention and doggy friends outside. He would also be happy in a home with a resident calm dog.

Woody would like a home where he can sit on the sofa and watch TV with you and share your cup of tea and biscuits. Sharing is caring after all. He would like his humans to take him on lots of walks for adventures and tree sniffing either on his own where he can show off his gorgeousness to others or with a calm brother or sister. He doesn’t like being left for too long on his own but will tolerate a few hours. Woody is such an easy going dog that he would fit in lovely with the right family.

CAN BE AN ONLY DOG IF OWNERS ARE HOME MOST OF THE TIME

CAN ALSO LIVE WITH OTHER DOGS

NO SMALL CHILDREN

QUIET HOME WITH PATIENT OWNERS

TRUFFLES WILL BE ADOPTED ON AN ASSISTED ADOPTION

Truffles is an adorable 5 year old Shitzu that is described by her foster mum as a loving, playful character. She adores playing with toys. Her tail wags all the time and she bounces with joy at feed time. She likes all other dogs and is not bothered what size they are. She is confident but not pushy. She will take a toy from under another dog’s nose and is not bothered if another dog does the same to her. Truffles loves being stroked and made a fuss of.

Truffles loves going for a walk and gets excited when she has her harness put on. She loves to sniff and explore. She is very good on lead but can’t walk too far and sometimes has to stop for a rest. She is not worried about meeting people or the sound of traffic.

Truffles loves sleeping in a comfy dog bed, on a chair or the sofa. She prefers to be on her own to rest but is not bothered at all living in a home with a lot of dogs. She sleeps happily downstairs in a comfy dog bed and she hasn’t been heard barking yet. Every morning she is so happy to see you and with tail wagging comes for a fuss.

She is really good travelling in the car in her harness and seatbelt but tries to creep up to a human, so if travelling alone, would be better in a soft crate.

Truffles is great at the vet and groomers, she is just a wonderful little girl.

She loves to play in the garden, stretching out on the grass and playing with a tennis ball. She also loves toys and one of her favourite things is to dissect them. She has also unfortunately chewed the TV remote and another dog’s harness, so it’s wise not to leave anything you need within her reach.

Truffles has a heart condition, where her heart skips a beat and will need to be carefully monitored by a vet going forward.

Truffles can be a bit nervous with new people but once she gets to know you she loves having a stroke and a fuss. She is an independent dog and still likes her own space on occasion. She does not like being overcrowded so a quiet household would be ideal.

Truffles is fine with children but she is not a ‘cuddly’ dog. She likes being stroked but not cuddled. She has met fosterers grandchildren who are used to leaving foster dogs alone and has been fine with them but takes herself off to a quiet spot if they are playing. Due to her heart condition, Truffles needs a quiet household without young children.

Not cat tested but Truffles is so laid back not considered a problem. She has met fosterer’s cat and not responded at all.

She is house trained with only an occasional accident.

Truffles would love a quiet home, with or without other dogs. She would love to have toys to play with and someone around most of the time. She would love to go for little short walks and the occasional outing. She would prefer to be in a home without little children and in a routine so she knows when breakfast and tea time is. She needs a secure space to go outdoors to toilet and sunbathe. A home with a human who is patient and lets her settle in her own time. Once she feels settled Truffles will reward her human with an overload of cuteness and cheeky character but she needs her own space sometimes.

Primrose D2021-07

****PLEASE READ THE FULL WRITE UP BEFORE APPLYING****

CALM RESIDENT DOG

SENSIBLE CHILDREN WHO UNDERSTAND SMALL NERVOUS DOGS

NOT CAT TESTED

PATIENT LOVING OWNERS

Princess Primmy is a 10 year old Maltese described by her foster mum as a quiet loving little girl who loves to be near you and will become your little shadow. She isn’t scared of much and is not a barker either. She has the cutest face and her little tongue hangs out of her mouth when she sleeps or when she’s excited and she always looks happy to see you! She loves cheese and anyone who loves cheese will know that it ain’t easy being cheesy!! When she trusts you and is settled, she likes you to tickle her tummy and will roll over, and she picks up her front paws to be picked up onto the sofa for a snooze

Prim has stage 2 leaky heart valve which requires ongoing medication to be given twice a day. She also has very few teeth so will need soft food or biscuits soaked in water. Prim tilts her head back when she is unsettled and I think this is due to anxiety and is a self-soothing mechanism which has got less frequent. She also licks her paws at night time which I also believe is a self soothe mechanism.

Prim has been a loving friendly little girl. At first, she was very timid and shaky but now she doesn’t shake at all unless put into a new situation. This will be expected when she goes to her new home but it will settle. She follows you everywhere. If you leave the room, she will follow you. She is not a typical lap dog; she likes to be near you but does not try to climb on your lap yet, but I think it won’t be long before she does. She greets you when you come home and likes to be smoothed. She jumps up on you with her two front paws for a fuss. She cowers when approached quickly or from high above her but she has never shown any aggression only timidness. She likes to be stroked under the chin. She has had two baths since her time here and was fine so I can’t see her being bothered by grooming at all. She likes to be in the same room as you and will howl sometimes if she is not with you and this howl sounds like a baby cow mooing! Prim likes to be picked up and put on the bed or sofa. She can jump up but due to her size she can’t do this effortlessly so is currently picked up. She will also settle on the floor.

Prim has not been around children but I think she would be fine around older children who are not loud and busy and understand that she’s a small timid dog and they need to be gentle.

Prim is currently living with a resident male Cavachon and follows him from room to room or out the garden. She likes to know he is close but she doesn’t need to be next to him or cuddle up to him, they sleep at opposite ends of the room. She has little motivation for food and so guarding or food aggression is no problem and she has been placid around him, except for when he’s startled her during a deep sleep and she’s given a growl but who likes to be woken from a deep slumber?

Prim has not been tested with cats or small furries.

Prim has had some accidents during her stay but these have been due to confusion. This is improving and has got less and less so just needs patience while she’s settling. I have introduced crate training to combat the accidents as she doesn’t seem to understand holding it in when you leave the house yet. She sleeps on a cuddly blanket on the floor next to the human bed and sleeps for 7-8 hours with no toilet accidents but I know she would love to sleep on the bed if allowed. She does wake up and have a quiet nose around in the night but this is getting less and less. She scratches at the bedroom door to let you know when she wants to get up but after a wee and poop will happily go back to bed for a snooze.

She has shown no interest in toys and has not been destructive in any way. She is not yappy in the slightest and only barks when my dog barks. She has been put in the crate numerous times with no fuss. With another dog I think she can be left fine for a few hours but alone. She is not motivated by food and is not food agressive, she is a moderate eater but loves sausages and cheese! She does not snatch and eats slowly. She loves the garden and likes to go in and out of the garden all day if the sun is shining! She likes to bask in the sun and is a real sun worshipper. She is not scared of household noises like the hoover or hair dryer.

Prim walks well on the lead but is a little bit nervous and due to her size and short legs has only been walked for 15 minutes at a time. I think she would prefer shorter walks more often rather than longer walks. She gets excited to leave the house and bites at the lead before you leave. She stays close her foster brother when she goes out but gets a bit distressed when you stop, she is a power Walker! She has been twice to the vets and has been fine although she does shake due to being nervous but is good as gold. She has been in the car and although she shakes, she sits still when secured and this will probably improve the more, she knows she is going fun places. She likes you to sing her a good song on the car journey and she doesn’t mind how bad your voice is!

Prim will make someone a lovely loyal snuggly companion and I think she would suit someone who is home a lot of the time. She loves to be near you and she likes to sprawl out on the bed or sofa and her back legs stick out behind her or hang over the edge of the sofa. She does not require a lot of exercise and I think a quiet home preferably with a furry friend where she can live out her retirement would be best for her.

Maple D2021-110

****PLEASE READ THE FULL WRITE UP VERY CAREFULLY BEFORE APPLYING****

MAPLE CAN BE AN ONLY DOG WITH LOTS OF SOCIALISATION

OLDER DOG SAVVY CHILDREN

NOT CATS TESTED

NEUTERING AGREEMENT

TRAINING OR SOCIALISATION CLASSES AGREEMENT

My foster mum has named me Maple and says I’m a mix of bambi and dumbo but I also answer to meatball. I’m 12-17 weeks old and am very special with a blue and brown eye. This comes in very handy as I use my brown eye to look super cute and my blue eye to give you the death stare hahaha.

I am an Old English Sheepdog and I really do live up to being a Dulux dog as I’ve had great fun getting in the way of my foster family as they have been painting the house lately. I have been sleeping on the floor lately as the weather has been so warm but watch out for me as I can look like a rug.

I like to keep people on their toes by stealing shoes or stones and I like to be under my foster families’ feet and try to trip them up (Hehe). I also like to wind up the other dogs in my foster home with my singing and chatting and If I get hold of a good toy,  stick or branch, I like to run around and hit them in the legs for fun.

Maple likes to follow you around and play tug of war with a rope. She sleeps well and doesn’t care for jumping into bed or on a sofa unless it’s for attention. She has no issues with confidence and will happily greet any visitors to the home with boundless energy. She is currently picked up to go up and down steps and does look a bit taken aback by it. (Not that this will be possible as she gets bigger and heavier).

She has had a nice bath since being in foster as she’s a bit of a tom boy rather than a princess and loves to get dirty. She will tolerate a brush but will nibble on the brush if you’re not keeping an eye on her. Her grooming needs to be a daily task to help with bonding and to keep her looking at her best.

There are no children in the foster home and she has shown no aggression to visiting children who are sensible and dog savvy and has happily sat and receive attention from them.

She has not been cat or small furry tested.

As a puppy she has been a little destructive and will pinch a shoe or bottle and when this happens, she is encouraged to shift her attention to something more suitable like an antler, yakk and toys. She is a puppy after all and this will take time and patience. She isn’t fully toilet trained and does have accidents in the house but this is getting better every day. She isn’t food aggressive and will wait patiently for her food and treats.

Maple hasn’t been out on a walk as she is not fully vaccinated but she has been practicing in the garden. She isn’t keen on the lead and tries to chew it but this again will come in time. She currently tolerates a secured car journey but may needs more room as she moves around a lot on the journey.

Maple needs an active home with lots of attention and playtime. She would be okay with dog savvy children but they need to be older as she jumps and bites when playing and will need a lot of training. We recommend her as an only dog but with plenty of socialisation. She is a beautiful fluff ball of a pup who needs someone who is committed to provide for all her needs.

Maple has a slightly misaligned jaw that will need a check at 6 months old. She will be on an assisted adoption due to this matter which will be discussed with the dog BOSS.
She will need to be spayed when the vets think she is of a suitable size and will coming with a neutering agreement.

She will also be required to attend puppy or socialisation classes and this will be followed up.

Microchipped, 1st vaccination and up to date flea and wormer

OLDER CAT SAVVY CHILDREN

CAN LIVE WITH OTHER CATS

NOT DOG TESTED

Gary is an 18-month-old domestic shorthair that had a fight with a car that he lost. He has now had his final check up at the vet’s and is ready to find his forever home. Gary’s accident with a car caused him to have a fracture to the roof of his mouth which was wired and has now healed. The fracture also caused damage to his left eye which is only visible when shining a light into it which causes his pupils to dilate differently. It doesn’t seem to affect his vision and should get better with time. If you listen to Gary he said the car came off worse than him. Hahaha

Gary uses the litter tray and scratching post but likes his tray regularly changed. He hasn’t been back outdoors yet and were unsure if he will want to or not. He is super friendly and cuddly preferring to be with you whenever he can.

He is super friendly and loving towards the little person in the home but they are a cat savvy 9yo. He would probably be shyer with forward toddlers

He is in foster with another cat and has been fine. Gary is not dog tested.

Gary is a lover not a fighter and is described by his foster mum as a lovely green-eyed ebony boy who loves nothing more than cuddling up to you. Only the recent heatwave has stopped him from sitting on his fosterer all day, preferring to seek any cooler spot he can find. Just a note to be aware that if you lie down this cuddlebug will quickly make himself comfortable, the nearer your face the better!

Gary has no special requirements he is just really loving and deserves the best of homes

Enzo D2021-50

****PLEASE READ THE FULL WRITE UP BEFORE APPLYING****

ONLY DOG

ADULT ONLY HOUSEHOLD

OWNERS HOME MOST OF THE ITME

Wanted; PA to a Very Important Daxie – Sir Enzo of BARKshire
Duties to include… pampering, entertaining, walkies, preparation of meals to his exacting standards, taking calls from his medical adviser and general worshipping.
Enzo is a handsome 3 year old dachshund boy who loves to be active, walking and playing with his toys within the grounds of his manor, he’s looking for someone who understands his quirks and is willing to manage him throughout the day.

Enzo is probably the male K9 version of Beyonce, Stunning to look at, but a bit of a Diva. Just make sure you have plenty of alkaline water which is adequately chilled sitting in your fridge!

Enzo has Nephrogenic Diabetes Insipidus this means his kidneys are unable to absorb fluids, he’s embarrassed to say he wee’s rather a lot and sometimes doesn’t manage to get out of the house in time. However, he’s a very helpful chap and will often try to bury it using his nose in imaginary soil! UNLIKE normal Diabetes, Enzo DOES NOT need medication to manage his condition, just free access to water at all times and to maintain a healthy body condition. It’s important to remember he drinks a lot because he wee’s a lot and NOT wee’s a lot because he drinks a lot, so restricting his water intake is not an option.

Generally Enzo gets on with humans and will actively seek out his current PA’s company to curl up on her lap, but this very much has to be on Enzo’s terms and he can get very grumpy if he’s forced to do something he doesn’t care to do. He doesn’t like to be disturbed when he’s in his bed (open crate with cover over for night time sleeping) and will complain bitterly if you try to take him out of it. Bigging him up, telling what a good boy he is and/or wiggling a long toy in front of his crate sometimes entices him to get up.

Enzo would like an adult only home no children due to his quirks.

Enzo gets on well with most dogs while taking he’s daily constitutional, but can be choosy who he allows into his inner circle while relaxing at his manor and they will need to be personally approved. He also expects to have the undivided attention of his Personal Assistant and for this reason Enzo would prefer to be an only dog.

Enzo isn’t keen on the neighbour’s cat’s, but doesn’t require the help of security to see them off the premises as he’s happy to do this personally.

Enzo is fond of sleeping in your chair during the day, sometimes he even lets you share. He will tell you he always shares a bed at night with his current PA, (of course this is a blatant lie), but will go to his crate (often muttering under his breath in protest) and bury himself in his blankets when told “Enzo, in your bed”.

Enzo tends to resource guard his food and water, he will get very grumpy if not left alone when at his bowls and will show you his displeasure if you try to pick him up. As explained earlier, Enzo often can’t hold on for a wee, he is embarrassed and doesn’t take too kindly to being told off, so it’s best to say, oh dear and clear it up when he’s not looking.

Enzo’s favourite hobby is finding the squeak, he’s spent many an evening, whiling away the hours, torturing some poor soft toy until it gives up its squeaker, which is thankfully followed by a very quick mercy killing! He’s not deterred by the “Tuff E Nuff” toys either, as he’s a dab hand at performing a Frontal Lobotomy and will swiftly locate the squeaker without killing the patient… we’ve had a duck living here quite happily after this procedure for days!

Enzo likes his PA to be close by in case there’s any important decision to be made about a prospective torturing that evening and so doesn’t like to left on his own for too long, be warned he may consult his Company Lawyers about disciplinary action if left for what he considers an unreasonable time!

Enzo loves nothing better than a long walk in the woods, he doesn’t wander too far from his existing PA and always returns when asked politely. He travels well in carriages although he takes offence to riding in the cheap seats and will make his displeasure known. He is well behaved with his medical advisors and is always a hit with the nurses, such a flirt!

Enzo would like to find a palatial home, with large drinking fountains, a Michelin Star Chef to prepare his meals and a servant to pander to his every whim, however a home with a garden, a large bowl of water, good food and a human who adores him is absolutely fine.

Enzo is a delightful boy who will endear you when you first meet, but he’s also a typical stubborn Mini Sausage and will need someone who is experienced with the breed and can understand & manage his moods with kindness.

If you would like to be consider for the position of PA to Sir Enzo, please submit your C.V. in writing below.

CALM RESIDENT DOG

NOT CATS TESTED

CHILDERN 10 AND OVER

OWNERS HOME MOST OF THE TIME

Flint is a handsome 8 year old Maltese with a beautiful nature. He came to us due to a change in circumstances in his previous home and has clearly been adored as he’s super friendly and loving. His foster mum describes him as being very calm, peaceful and loving. He loves nothing more than a comfy lap to snuggle up on and would make a perfect companion in a quiet home where there is family around most of the time. He would appreciate the company of a calm resident dog as he’s a sociable little chap who welcomes visitors with open paws.

Flint would like a home with older children and a calm resident dog who can help him explore his desire to be little adventurer. He doesn’t enjoy rough and tumble play but likes the company and someone to show him the ropes

He has not been cat tested but has been luckily enough to meet a bearded dragon showing no interest.

Flint is house trained there were a few accidents when he first arrived in foster but his could have been the change in circumstances. He may have previously used a crate but has settled well into using a dog bed. He gave my dog a few growls when they first met but he soon relaxed and now he loves to cuddle up with him. He would definitely appreciate a nice lap to curl up on when he gets the chance. He likes to be involved in everything so will happily follow foster mum around the house. He eats well and is happy to try new things. He has shown no aggression around food unless the resident dog tries to pinch his treats, then he will let her know she’s being rude, but only verbally, in quite a gentle way. He doesn’t yet play with toys but this may come in time. Flint doesn’t like to be left for long periods of time and gets really excited when his foster mum returns.

Flint travels really well in the car. He is happy to walk on a lead and will approach me to put his harness on. He hasnt met many other dogs because he hadn’t been fully vaccinated. He was confident at the vets and very keen to shout at the other dogs from a distance.

Flint would like a kind and loving home with a family who have time to spoil him. He would suit someone who is around most of the time. He wants a resident dog who can show him the joys of squirrel watching and how him the best trees to have a good sniff on. He may not want to go far on his walks but he will want to go and explore

Badem D2021-112

***PLEASE READ THE FULL WRITE UP BEFORE APPLYING****

FEMALE RESIDENT DOG ONLY OR COULD BE AN ONLY DOG IF OWNER HOME MOST OF THE TIME

OLDER DOG SAVVY CHILDREN

Badem is a 2.5 year old Poodle cross and is described by his foster mum as a real people person. He just adores attention but is also just as happy to relax in the lounge while his foster mum goes about household chores. If he were allowed to, he would be by your side every minute of the day. He has been great company and normally spends a good portion of the day sleeping while his foster mum works on a laptop.

Badem had an accident that resulted in his left back leg being amputated. He has been fully rehabbed and has good muscle tone. He seems very comfortable on 3 legs and doesn’t need special treatment or carrying. However, just keep an eye on him and if you notice any change get medical advice.

Badem is still a young boy and loves to play with his human and toys. He loves his walks and gets very excited to see his lead. He is very agile on his 3 legs and spins around like a mad thing with excitement.

Badem absolutely loves people and will try to get as much attention as you’re willing to give. He will roll around on top of you and has no concept of size or personal space. He is the most loving affectionate boy. He gets a lot of confidence and comfort from his human so will need someone who is looking for that strong bond.

Badem doesn’t like his face being groomed but is a good boy in the bath.

Badem has an unexpectedly deep growl, which he uses when he scratches his own ears with his back paw, chews a toy, or on occasion at another dog. It has been hard to hear much difference between these growls and due to the deep tone, they can all sound menacing. However, he is not meaning to communicate aggression in all of these situations. He will need a dog companion that won’t take offence to his vocal nature but not a resident male dog.

Badem likes his own space next to his human and will have a grumble at another dog when he doesn’t get his way. These do not escalate as he’s very responsive to his human but if Badem were placed in a home with a dominant resident dog and feels he has to fight for his place/attention it may do. He is happy to share attention with another dog as long as he feels he’s still involved. Due to this, Badem would be well suited to a home with a gentle, independent female dog of any size.

Badem is great out on walks but can bark at passing dogs if he feels threatened. This normally happens once or twice a walk and seems to be directed at male dogs who are not castrated. He has not been tested off lead and has no recall training. He is surprisingly fast on his 3 legs and loves to run.

Badem has not been cat tested.

Badem is housetrained but has marked within the lounge twice. He is currently in foster with a male chihuahua which could have contributed to him doing this. He is used to using puppy pads at night or if left for a short period during the day.

He likes to sleep on the bed and loves to cuddle before spreading out at the bottom for sleep. However, he will also happily sleep in the lounge at night with the other dogs, in his current foster.

Badem is learning to play with toys as he has a tendency to play with your hands. He is gentle but can get excitable and slightly nip. He will need someone willing to work with him and show him what he can and can’t play with.

Badem is not food aggressive and will allow his human to pick his food bowl up while eating. He likes a bowl that will stay still while he eats; eating on 3 legs when your bowl is moving every time your nose goes in, can get frustrating! He loves his food but can feel insecure when eating and will warn other dogs to stay away and potential owners need to be aware of this.

Badem is great at being left for a couple of hours and will sleep on the couch in the lounge, with the other foster dogs. He will bark when you initially leave the house but settles down very quickly.

He is great in the car and will sit in his harness attached to the backseat. He was very good at the vets as he loves people.

Badem needs a home with a resident submissive/independent female dog or could equally be homed as a single dog if owners were home most of the time. He would be best placed with adults or a household with older dog savvy children. He needs someone/family willing to be his best friend/s and who won’t mind him being a little limpet! A home that will continue to work with him and train him as he’s very much a young dog (puppyhood delayed slightly by his accident). He is friendly and inquisitive and would find training very stimulating.

RESIDENT DOG

SENSIBE DOG SAVVY CHILDREN

OWNERS HOME MOST OF THE TIME

Violet is an 8 year old Maltese that will make a wonderful addition to any home. She came into foster due to a family’s change in circumstances and she has clearly been adored. She has the waggiest, cutest little bottom that we have ever seen and we have seen a lot of bottoms. She is a friendly, happy soul who loves cuddles and fuss. She loves people & is very much a lap dog. Prospective owners must be prepared to carry on with her princess status in her forever home

Violet loves the resident dogs in her foster home and follows them around like a little shadow. She enjoys a good play in the garden and likes to dart about the garden.

She was very good when she had a bath and loved being brushed afterwards as it was her being the centre of attention

The vet didn’t find any medical issues, her right eye has a birth defect & her right rear knee is a lot lax but nothing to bother her or worry the vet

There are no children in the foster home however she was very good when she met the neighbour’s 5 & 9 year old

She has fitted in well with the resident dogs in the home and likes to be wherever they are. She has been having lead practice in the garden to prepare her for the outside world and has been doing great. The resident dogs have been telling her all about squirrels and trees and she cant wait to see for herself. They have told her that the right tree is important to find as the sniffs give her all the gossip from the other dogs in the area.

Violet has not been cat tested

Violet settled into her foster home almost immediately (well after almost falling over a few times as her tail was wagging so fast). She is an absolute sweetie. She is house trained but had a few accidents while she settled.

Violet only has 4 teeth but despite this she eats her grain free Harringtons really well. She initially tried eating out of one of the other dog’s bowl but learnt that she has a bowl of her own. She has been left for a few hours on her own in the company of the other dogs and has been fine.

Violet would like a home where someone is home most of the time with a resident dog that can show her the best trees to sniff for all the gossip. A family who will completely adore and pamper her and continue her journey through life building on the loving foundations she has received.

Neutered Female

Microchipped, Vaccinated and up to date flea and wormer

Fostered in the Port Talbot area of South Wales

Violet will come with 5 weeks free Agria pet insurance

CHILDREN 12 AND OVER

ONLY DOG IF RESIDENT IS HOME MOST OF THE TIME

OR A MALE RESIDENT DOG

CAT FRIENDLY

ACTIVE BUT PATIENT HOME

Willow is an adorable 2 year old little Cavachon. She has the sweetest face which tilts when you look at her and your heart can’t help but melt. She is an intelligent little girl and will sit and give you her paw and knows when it is time for walkies. She is very affectionate once she gets to know you. She loves her foster mum to distraction and is never far from her side whether it be watching TV, cooking in the kitchen or outside “helping” with the gardening.

Willow has no known health issues.

Willow is a little wary when she first meets people but once you show her you are her friend, she will gingerly approach you to say hello. She has shown some fear of men but we have been working on this and she is now a little more comfortable if she meets a male she knows.

Willow is fearful of small children and will bark at them and shown signs of being uncomfortable. She has lived with children before but she would need a home with older children 12 years plus.

Willow is being fostered as an only dog however she has met dogs on walks and is always pleased to meet the smaller dogs and shows signs of wanting to interact. She has met two male dogs on a one to one basis and has behaved impeccably. Sadly Willow has shown in the past that she does not like to share her home with female dogs.

Willow shares her foster home with four cats. She has a special bond with the siamese cat and they sometimes sit nose to nose and the cat wouldn’t leave her side after she was spayed.

When Willow first came into rescue she had quite a few accidents in the house however she is more or less housetrained now. She has shown no interest in toys. She eats well loves her food and has not shown any food aggression when around the cats. Willow has been destructive in the home when left, she does not like to be alone without her human and has registered her anxiety by eating wallpaper and chewing her crate. This is being worked on and she can now be left in a crate for a couple of hours during the day. She will also sleep downstairs in her crate at night.

Willow absolutely loves her walks. She brings her lead to foster mum when she sees her putting on her walking shoes. She travels well in a crate in the car and has been a very good girl at the vets.

Willow needs a home where there is someone home the majority of the day. Older children only. She doesn’t like being left so someone who is prepared to be patient and has the time work on her separation anxiety. She needs an active home where she can have lots of nice walks. She could be an only dog but a home with a calm resident male dog would be considered. No female dogs. Full details will be discussed with potential adopters. Willow is a delightful little girl who in the right home will continue to flourish and will be the most loving and loyal little companion you could ever wish for.

Frankie D2021-105

****PLEASE READ THE FULL WRITE UP BEFORE APPLYING****

Can be an only dog

Flat face experience needed

Happy with sensible dog savvy children

No cats

Owners home most of the time

Frankie is a loveable 5 year old French Bulldog who is described by his foster mum as a gentle giant of a Frenchie! She loves her food, her chew toy and her daily walks. She is a people dog and loves to snuggle on the sofa. She doesn’t realise her size and will try her best to be a lap dog so you may end up getting squashed!! She can be a typically needy Frenchie and will paw at you to pet her and follow you around the house! She is usually impeccably behaved and can be left to have the run of the downstairs without the worry of destroying anything.

Frankie is toilet trained and has never had an accident in the house. She will paw at the door if she wants to go out. She usually waits for her morning and eve walks to poo so rarely messes in the garden! She has a few quirks in that she likes digging in the garden and doesn’t like being left alone and will howl initially but settles quickly and finds somewhere to sleep.

She initially barks at new people but very quickly they become her new best friend! She’s a very gentle dog and is happy to be handled. Frankie would fit very easily into many types of homes as she just craves the love and attention she deserves. She has been a delight to foster and I will miss her greatly.

Frankie came to me with skin allergies and is taking 2x antihistamines a day. She is also on a grain free diet which has really helped. Her breathing is also poor and she’s been confirmed as a suitable candidate for boas which the charity will pay for.

She is scared of the bath but will let you lift her in and out without any issues. She needs her ears cleaned and to have drops in them but she hates them and will run as soon as she sees the bottle.

Frankie came from a family with children and has met lots in her time with her foster family. I think she would be fine with children of all ages as she’s generally quite a calm dog.

Frankie is an only dog within her foster family but has gone on walk with friend’s dogs and has shown little reaction. She usually walks well on a lead but can sometimes pull with excitement when she sees other dogs She’s a little bit mixed on walks. For the majority of time she is calm and meets other dogs politely but on occasion can get over excited and bark until they meet.

She hasn’t been tested with a cat in the home but has gone to chase a neighbour’s cat.

Frankie currently sleeps on her own in the kitchen on her bed with a stair gate across the door. She sleeps throughout the night with no fuss although she needs bribing with a treat to get her into the kitchen from the sofa!

She eats a mixture of dry and wet grain free food (for her allergies) twice a day and enjoys grain free/natural treats.
She’s not destructive at all (apart from chewing a pencil once!) and like to chew on chew toys. She gets too excitable to play with her ball at the moment as it affects her breathing too much, but it’s something I know she will enjoy hopefully after her operation. She’s not food or toy aggressive.

Frankie travels well in the car. Frankie has been good at the vets.

Frankie would love a home where she would be the princess and get lots of fuss and attention but also have space to have time on her own. She would love a garden to potter around and play fetch in. She needs a person or family that understand and takes into consideration her flat face needs and allergies. She enjoyins her twice daily walks but due to her breathing and the hot weather at the moment can only walk for short distances so families who like to go on long hikes wouldn’t be suitable for her.
Frankie will be a perfect dog for the right family.

Saffy

Can live with other cats

Can live with dogs with careful introductions

Sensible children

Could be an indoor as long as she has lots of company

She also likes access to the outdoor with her forever family

Saffy is an incredibly sweet 7 year old who loves company and adores fusses. She is an unusual silver grey and white colour that really stands out. After getting to know her foster home she has become foster mum’s shadow and flops down wherever foster mum is and loves watching TV in the evenings on the arm of the sofa next to her. She is the perfect cat for someone wanting a loving, friendly companion.

Unusually for a cat she will often come when called, but expects lots of attention after putting in that effort! She has just started to explore the garden a little, but shows no intention of wandering far from her home comforts. She also gets on well with the other cats in her foster home. She is very clean and loves her biscuits, sometimes a little too much! She is on restricted amounts and has already lost a little weight, but this needs to continue.

Saffy would be fine with other cats and probably dogs too as she doesn’t react to the dogs barking in the neighbourhood as long as introductions are carefully handled.

Saffy is super sensitive on her mid to lower back and if you touch her there, she stress licks her front legs. This has been fully vet checked and they believe it is a learned behaviour rather than anything more sinister. She isn’t brushed due to this reason.

Any children in the household would need to understand that she doesn’t enjoy being touched in these areas. She is a confident lady and not easily spooked so a busy household wouldn’t necessarily bother her.

Saffy could easily be an indoor cat as she only comes in the garden to be with her foster family and always wants fusses. As soon as you are near, she meows asking for attention. She would like a home with someone around for company as she just wants to be with them.

Saffy has no quirky traits, she is just a super chilled lady who is happy. She is also good with bunnies and happily shares her garden with them.

Harri D2021-113

****PLEASE READ THE FULL WRITE UP BEFORE APPLYING****

HARRI COULD LIVE WITH A PLAYFUL RESIDENT DOR OR COULD BE AN ONLY DOG AS LONG AS HE HAS LOTS OF DOGGY FRIENDS THAT HE CAN SEE DAILY AND OWNERS WHO WOULD BE HOME MOST OF THE TIME

WOULDN’T RECOMMEND CATS OR SMALL FURRIES

OLDER CHILDREN

Harri is adorable 3 year old Setter that has the super power of only having 3 legs. He loves life, everyone and finds every new experience fun. He is full of energy, positivity and his happiness is contagious. Hari’s world is all about fun and adventure. He is very loving and adores being fussed and cuddled. He gets on well with all dogs (currently being fostered with 4 other dogs of various sizes). He is starting to learn to walk on a lead doubled with a harness and is doing well, he just wants to explore everything whilst walking and can be a little all over the place so will need help focusing on walks. He would love to run free but will need recall training to enable him to do this safely.

Harri has no known health issues apart from his missing leg.

As Harri is quite large and very boisterous, he would not be suitable to be in a home with small children as he would probably knock them over. He would be fine with older children who are used to big, boisterous dogs.

Harri loves other dogs and is happy living with all sizes of dogs. He would happily rush up to every dog he meets on a walk so needs to learn basic training. He has not been on walks in his foster home as not had second vaccination, but has done some basic training in the garden. He is very quick to learn and responds well to being told to leave when meeting another dog. He would be happy in a home with other dogs or on his own as long as he gets opportunities to socialise with other dogs.

Harri has not been cat or small furry tested and we would be wary as he wants to play with everything

Harri is 99% housetrained going outside to toilet but occasionally forgets. His training will need to continue to stop him and praise him when he gets it right. He happily sleeps on a rug in the hall or on a cosy dog bed in an open crate. He is gradually getting brave enough to come into the living room but has not yet ventured to sleep on the sofas. He adores toys he can chase and will catch tennis balls all day. He loves nothing better than to lie in the garden playing with a toy. He happily shares his toys with the other dogs in his foster home and if a bigger or smaller dog takes his toy, he will get another one. He is such a chilled out boy. He has destroyed the odd toy to get to the squeaky but has not otherwise been destructive in the home.

Harri eats well and is having a mix of wet and dried food. He eats away from the other dogs but is not at all aggressive over his food bowl. He is happy for others to come along and lick it clean after he has eaten. He hasn’t been left alone for long and when he is he is with the other dogs but doesn’t like to be left for too long.

Harri is an early riser and likes to sing with the birds which is by woofing to the world that he is happy to be alive and safe. Once he has had his morning sing song and a wee he will happily go back to bed for a few more hours napping and dreaming of his adventures for the day. This is being worked on in his foster home and training will need to continue.

Harri travels really well in a car on the back seat with the seat belt attached to his harness and lies quietly. He could travel in a crate but may need help getting into it. He adores going to the vets as he sees this as another wonderful adventure.

Harri needs a forever home with at least one other active, playful dog with owners who can continue his training and take him on adventures. He could live with older children as he’s so playful he may accidently knock any little ones over. He needs a forever family where someone will be home for most of the time and will continue his training in a positive manner.

NEEDS AT LEAST ONE OTHER RESIDENT DOG IN THE HOME

NOT CAT TESTED

PATIENT ADULT ONLY HOME WITH OWNERES AROUND MOST OF THE TIME

Peanut is a 4 year old Maltese who is described by her foster mum as a lovely girl who loves going on walks but has to have another dog to show her the way. She loves her food and does a little dance when its being lovingly prepared by her foster mum. Peanut is fully housetrained. She is not a lap dog but will sleep next to you on the couch. She is still a little nervous of humans but with love and patience she is coming on in leaps and bounds. She likes to play chase around the garden until she has had enough and she will chase a ball around. She does not as yet like to be picked up by people she doesn’t know and keeps that just for her foster mum at the moment as they have formed a bond.

Peanut has no health problems

Peanut is nervous of people that she doesn’t know and likes to make a bond with those closest to her before she will let you groom and touch her. She now happily lets foster mum groom and stroke her and new adopters need to be mindful that it will take a little time to build your own bond and for her to trust her own family.

Peanut is scared of children and goes and hides so an adult only home would be best

Peanut loves all dogs and gets quite excited when we meet other dogs on our walks. She needs a home with at least one or two other dogs in the home to give her the confidence to be a rescue ambassador in the big wide world.

Peanut has not been cat or small furry tested

Peanut sleeps with the resident dogs on the couch or in her foster mums bed basically wherever she wants to sleep, we do not use a crate in our foster home. She is not destructive at all either with food or toys. She has been left for a few hours and has been fine as long as she is with the resident dogs.

Peanut loves going on her walks but she has to go with her doggo pals for confidence. She travels in a secure doggy car seat and loves it and is great at the vets

Peanut needs an adult only home with at least one resident dog that she can learn and play with. She would like owners who are around for most of the time and can help her grow into the dog she should have always been.

RESIDENT DOG OR DOGS A MUST

CHILDREN 7 AND OVER

NOT CAT OR SMALL FURRY TESTED

PATIENT OWNERS WHO CAN SHOW HER HOW AN ADORED PET IS TREATED

Azalea is a 5 year old ex breeding westie that had previously never lived in a home or knew what it was to be adored family member. Despite her unfortunate start she loves cuddles and attention and can be very affectionate. She has really settled since being in foster and her cheeky character is starting to shine through. She’s even good with visitors that have been to the house and didn’t shy away from strangers. Approaching then carefully and putting her paws on their legs for a head scratch.

She doesn’t yet jump up on the sofa for cuddles but her foster mum thinks that she soon will as she is gaining in confidence daily. She loves the other dogs in her foster home and takes her queue from them. She is currently fed on soft food but will eat anything. She likes to do a little tap dance for you as you prepare her food and especially likes to steal her foster brothers kibble when he’s not looking or clean up whatever the children drop on the floor.

She isn’t playing with toys yet but loves funny sounds and if you pretend to meow or bark, she goes running around looking and barking to see where it’s come from. She is not food or toy aggressive and has been left for a few hours with the other dogs and has been absolutely fine.

Azalea hasn’t been for a walk yet as she’s been waiting to have her vaccinations which are now booked. With most dog like her lead walking will come with the confidence she gets from being in a stable home with another resident dog or dogs.

Azalea had a mammary lump removed on arrival into foster and also only has two teeth… but do not be fooled… you wouldn’t know. She also has a cauliflower ear as a result of an untreated infection before she came into our care.

Azalea has not been cat or small furry tested.

She does not like the stairs and currently will not walk up or down them

Housetraining is a work in progress and she can be a bit hit and miss with puppy pads. She needs lots of encouragement when she does get it right and this will encourage her to progress

At night she sleeps on a huge pile of blankets in the front room and settles well sleeping all night with the other dogs.

She is great in the car and has been amazing at the vets.

Azalea deserves a home where she can have fun and be the dog she has never been. She is still coming out of her shell and has been through a lot with medical treatments since she arrived in foster, but it is clear she is a very loving, fun dog who will continue to thrive and come out of her shell more in the right forever home.

PATIENT OWNERS AROUND MOST OF THE TIME

Bentley is a 4 year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who was a very nervous boy when he first arrived in foster. He didn’t seem to have any trust in people and can be very jumpy with loud noises and sudden movements. Since being in foster he is coming around slowly and is starting to trust his foster family and absolutely adores other dogs.

Bentley loves food and treats and will come and slowly take a treat from your hand. He is starting to show the happy cheeky side of his personality, which is wonderful to see. He is nearly there with his house training and just has the odd accident

He is still wary of strangers and is nervous of human contact but due to his love of food this is progressing nicely and positively. His new family just need to take their time and go at his pace and the trust will come.

Bentley has not met many children and would not cope with young or boisterous children as he is nervous of sudden movement and loud noise

Bentley is not cat tested

Bentley will sleep on dog bed, blanket or sofa as long as he is with another dog. He hasn’t been destructive at all and hasn’t played with toys yet but we find this will come in its own time. He hasn’t been left for more than a few hours as long as he is with another dog.

Bentley really loves his food and is currently eating soft food as he has had some teeth removed,

Bentley is not currently lead trained as he is still scared of the big wide world, however we know this will probably come in time and just needs to feel safe, gain confidence from another dog and trust his forever human.

Bentley was fine in the car on short journeys and was very brave at the vets

Bentley needs a home with another dog to show him how to be a dog. He needs a family with plenty of time and patience to help him build his trust and confidence around people and in the big wide world. Given this time and encouragement he is going to make a wonderful pet.

CALM RESIDENT DOG

CHILDREN 12 AND OVER

NOT CAT TESTED

OWNERS AROUND MOST OF THE TIME

Moss is a 5 year old Cocker Spaniel who is described by her foster mum as the soppiest, softest girl who adores attention. Living in a home is new to Moss but she has bravely embraced this new life and is such a good girl. She’s happy to be left without fuss or noise, for a few hours. She likes to snuggle up to the other dogs when humans aren’t around. But if it’s a choice, she’s a people person! This girl never stops wagging her tail, she is just so happy to have company and a cosy couch.

Moss is a delight to groom as she has the softest coat and thoroughly enjoys the attention. She is happy to have her feet groomed and ears cleaned without fuss.

She can be shy on meeting new people and will slowly and tentatively greet them in the hope of attention. As soon as they give her attention, she relaxes but will keep an eye on their movements. Quick movements can scare her but she recovers quickly and her general trust is growing stronger daily.

Moss hasn’t been tested with children whilst in her foster home and may struggle with the unpredictability of younger children’s quick movements and loud noises. However, her soft personality would suggest she’d be great with children aged 12 and over that can understand her gentle character.

Moss loves the comfort and support of another dog in the home. She likes to snuggle up to a doggy friend when left alone. Moss is currently in foster with a chihuahua with a big personality and this hasn’t phased her in the slightest. She isn’t aggressive and even when he tells her off, she wags her tail and lets him have his moment. Moss would like a home that has a gentle and calm resident dog to provide comfort and show her the way.

Moss hasn’t been cat tested but is very gentle with a chihuahua boy.

Moss is a quiet girl in the home, happiest when in the same room as her person/s. She is currently sleeping in a dog bed next to the human bed but enjoys cuddles in bed, so much so it can take some time to encourage her to sleep a whole night in her own bed. Moss would be fine left sleeping with a resident dog, in another room from her person/s but she wouldn’t cope well with sleeping alone.

Moss really enjoys her food and rushes through it to try and dip her nose in her foster sister’s bowl. She isn’t food aggressive but she does take any opportunity to sneak that nose in.

Moss hasn’t shown an interest in toys yet but if encouraged, her playful side may appear when she’s feeling settled and confident in her situation.

Moss is nearly toilet trained but isn’t great at telling you when she needs to go. If she has a way out she will choose to go to the toilet outside. In the night Moss goes to the toilet on puppy pads. Toilet training will need to continue in her new home. Moss is very timid when leaving the house for vet visits. She has no experience walking on a lead or of the outside world and will need someone who has the time and patience to very slowly introduce her to the world. She is interested in everything and gets great confidence from being with her person so I imagine she will really enjoy exploring/walks. Moss was such a good girl in the vets. She was very scared but showed no signs of aggression.

Moss needs a home with a gentle, calm resident dog to guide her and provide comfort. She would like an owner who is around for most of the time and wouldn’t cope being left for long periods. She is such a wonderful girl who is a massive softy. She loves sleeping deeply on the couch for hours and frequently dreams, making sounds and movements. She would be a great addition to any family.

EX BREEDING DOG EXPERIENCE DESIRABLE

PATIEND, CALM OWNERS HOME MOST OF THE TIME

NO CHILDREN

RESIDENT DOG OR DOGS A MUST

Brandy is a 6 year old Shih tzu female that has spent most of her life as an ex breeding bitch on a farm making her very wary of humans. She is not keen on being touched and would rather avoid all contact with you. She’s comfortable being in the same room as you and is happy to relax on a dog bed or on the windowsill watching the world go by. In the short time she’s been with her foster family she has made great progress but still has a way to go. She gets very excited at food time and bounces around wagging her tail. She lives in a multi dog household and has picked her favourite dog, a Springer spaniel, and follows him around the house and garden learning from him on how to be a dog.

Brandy is very nervous and prefers to explore the house and garden on her own and interacting with the other with dogs. She will run if you get too close or try to pick her up but is happy to lay in a dog bed or on the sofa in the same room as her humans. Sometimes it takes some dogs longer than others to adjust to being a pet but the signs are encouraging and she just needs time and patience.

Due to Brandy being nervous of touch Brandy will need an adult only home

Brandy loves being with other dogs and would need at least one other dog in her forever home. She has taken a particular liking to a spaniel in her foster home and follows him around so size doesn’t worry her.

She has not been cat tested but we can’t see there being a problem

Brandy is starting to show signs of play with the other dogs in her foster home and loves her food. She is toilet trained and happy to be left for a few hours with another dog for company.

Brandy is currently too nervous for lead walks as she is petrified of being caught and would bolt given the chance. Adopters would need to be happy to not push her and let her learn at her own pace.

Brandy would suit a quiet home with patient humans who are happy to take a back seat and let her develop at her own pace. Puppy farm experience would be preferable. She is a sweet girl who just isn’t quite ready to fully relax and trust yet. Brandy will need a soft crate for transport to make sure she is secure and can’t escape.

COULD LIVE WITH OR WITHOUT ANOTHER DOG

NEEDS A KIND FAMILY WHO CAN SET RULES AND BOUNDARIES

OLDER DOG SAVVY CHILDREN

Rocky is a 7 year old Chihuahua described by his mum as an independent middle aged man who adores a lap and a soft blanket. He will take a couple of weeks to settle in any new home, but when you have his trust, he is the most loyal, affectionate and playful boy. His foster Mum says that he makes her smile daily with his big personality.

It will be important for Rocky to understand his place in your home, so setting boundaries and rules straight away will be critical. This works both ways. Listen to Rocky as he will clearly communicate his boundaries with you. After a few days of consistent repetition of your boundaries, he will happily follow them.

Rocky’s rules are as follows:
If you sit, your lap is fair game.
Being dressed in dog clothes is not appreciated.
I will guard you, always.
Visitors will be initiated slowly and must also understand that sitting is an invitation but Rocky still reserves the right to bark at them when they get up and leave.
Daily walks are appreciated but it’s a pass if it’s heavy rain/big weather!
Eating in a safe place (on a chair, while others are on the floor) is appreciated when eating around other dogs.

Rocky has no known health issues.

Rocky takes time to trust new people. He will build a strong bond with you but this may take a few months. When he trusts you, he loves to be held like a baby and receive tummy rubs in your arms. He will sleep under the bed covers without you knowing that’s he’s even there. You will be greeted with the biggest toothy grin and bum waggle motion at every opportunity. You will become his playmate and he will hop towards you in a cheeky fashion, bouncing around.

When you have visitors, it will be important to set clear boundaries and routines to train Rocky how to behave. He will bark at visitors, do not pick him up in this situation. Try to designate an area for Rocky to wait while guests enter so that he cannot run to greet the visitor uncontrolled. He is very responsive and you can manoeuvre him by walking towards him (use your body) to position him in the same spot/area each time. When you return with a visitor, encourage him to come to you, by the visitor, and give him attention and confidence to say hi to the visitor. Treats always help! However, you may find better ways to set rules for him as you learn about each other in your home or if you have chihuahua experience already!

Rocky would happily live with children 14 and over who understand his size and rules.

Rocky could live with dog savvy cats.

Rocky can be left for several hours and will happily sleep on the couch.
Currently, Rocky is separated from the kitchen and upstairs by a baby gate. He is happy to wait in the lounge while his foster Mum goes about her business in the house. He enjoys a blanket to tunnel under and snooze the day away wrapped up like a burrito!

Rocky likes to sleep in bed with his human. You may be able to transition him to a dog bed, within the bedroom, or with other dogs in another room. This may take a few weeks for him to accept but as long as he has company and a blanket, he will settle.
Rocky is great company for his foster Mum and (unless someone knocks the door!) he will sleep and play the day away.
He likes to mark in the house, especially if there is a change i.e new dog or something to make him feel unsure. He will go to the toilet outside as normal but will need consistent training to stop marking.

Rocky is great out on walks and trots proudly at your side. He loves to stop and sniff/mark everything. He will try to guard you from people and dogs that he finds intimidating, so will need someone willing to continue his training to help him become more secure. He likes to say hi to lots of dogs and is more confident approaching dogs than he is people.

Rocky could live with anyone who is willing to take the time to understand and listen to him. He is the most affectionate, funny little guy who would bring joy to anyone who will give him the time he needs to create a strong bond. He would happily live with another dog; if a medium/large breed they would need to be gentle, if a small breed they need to be slightly independent and not likely to take offence to his vocal nature.
