Ziggy is an extremely affectionate 2 year old Labradoodle who walks brilliantly on the lead. He has some level of training I.e. sit & paw but would benefit from more. Ziggy has never been off lead so solid recall will need to be achieved as a priority. He loves to curl up on the sofa but will also settle quietly in his bed.
Ziggy is fully house trained and there have not been any accidents in the time he has been in foster.
Ziggy has had his booster vaccination today and his health check showed no issues. However, Ziggy is extremely overweight at 21.20 kg and needs to lose 5-6 kg. New owners will need to adhere to a strict diet and exercise regime. He is currently on 3-4 20 minute walks a day to build up his muscle tone.
Ziggy instantly bonds with females but is nervous around men, initially growling and barking at them, but not venturing too close. Once he has settled and assessed the situation he will allow men to approach for a fuss and relaxes around them. New owners must expect this behaviour in his forever home and be willing to work with him to overcome his fears.
We recommend older, dog savvy children.

Ziggy behaves impeccably in the house with no destruction or soiling. He does jump up at the kitchen work tops but will get down when told without fuss.
Ziggy walks well on the lead and does not react to other dogs in a negative way. He is wary of approaching men but hasn’t barked or lunged.
Ziggy would benefit from an active home where the new owners are prepared to invest the time in gaining his trust and getting him in shape. I am confident that Ziggy will learn to trust a man, but this will take patience and understanding. He has an awful lot of love to give and in the right home he will be a star.
