Wilfy D2022-001

  • Can be an only dog with lots of interactions
  • Could live with other dogs where owners are aware of sausage dog traits
  • No cats
  • Older teenage children
  • Owners aware of Dachshund traits

Wilfy is a gorgeous 2 year old standard wirehaired dachshund who is convinced he’s a puppy. He has huge brown eyes and loves a snuggle especially on your lap. He loved his chew toys that santa paws got for him and has been having great fun with them.

He has no known health issues and has been a lovely houseguest. He is fully house trained and enjpys spending time in the garden.

Wilfy is not good with cats and will chase them if they run so we would not recommend he be rehomed with cats. He has also not experienced positive interactions around small children so will not be rehomed with them he can however be rehomed with older sensible teenage children.

Wilfy loves to walk and be out and about. He walks great on a lead and bounces along like a little tigger finding interesting sniffs.

He responds to his name in the garden and around the house but has not been off lead as he will need time to settle with his permanent owners.

He appears to know his basic commands and loves nothing better than to show you so he can be heaped with praise. He really is a little dog who loves to please.

He enjoys a tummy rub and a rough and tumble with his foster siblings but can get carried away if not supervised. Like all big kids he just gets over excited.

Wilfy needs a home with an older family who like walking and can keep his interest levels up. He can live with another dog or as an only dog. Wilfy is very puppy like and needs play to be monitored as he hasn’t learnt normal boundaries with other dogs. He just needs time and positive guidance.
