Truffle
Truffle D2025-96
2 Year old Cocker Spaniel
Due to her nervous nature, Truffle would prefer to be with older children who understand her need for reassurance and gentle handling.
Truffle is very nervous but once she gets to know and trust you she is happy to be stroked, picked up and is learning that cuddles are good. She has not been out for walks yet but is getting used to visitors to the home and is starting to realise that people are kind and she likes them to stroke her. Once she trusts she really does like to be as close as possible.
Not tested, but she is very calm and laid back and would probably be fine.
Truffle has not yet discovered toys, she did once pick up a soft toy and take it to her bed and then forgot all about it. As she grows in confidence she will learn to play with toys, she just needs time, patience and a bit of help.
Truffle enjoys being on a lead in the garden and on visits to the vet. She seems to like being connected to her trusted human as she knows they are there to help her if she needs it but she is willing to be brave and give anything a go with some encouragement.
Truffle sleeps downstairs with the other dogs. She has the choice of sofas and many dog beds and usually opts for a quiet room away from others. Once she has learnt to enjoy cuddles, she would probably love to be a cuddle monster.
House training is a work in progress. She will only go out to the garden if on a lead with a human minder by her side to ward off all the other hounds. She is then happy to run around the garden to toilet and is praised for doing so. She then needs her human minder to walk her back indoors Indoors she will use puppy pads/newspaper/towels so will soon learn.
Truffle is starting to get used to having her own bowl of food without having to share it. She is happy to eat her food and not bothered if others come near her, she will walk away if another dog approaches her when she is eating. Currently she is fed away from others so she gets a chance to finish her food and the others know not to take her food so she is beginning to trust.
Truffle would love a home that understands she needs time and patience and encouragement to help her find her brave pants. She would love a quiet home where there are places she can hide safely and watch what is going on. But she would really love kind people she can learn to trust and have cuddles with when she is ready. She needs a calm but fun and confident resident dog who can help her understand how to be a pet and enjoy cuddles and having fun. She would love a garden to play in and a doggy friend to tear around and chase together. If her doggy friend and humans can help teach her how to enjoy love and toys and fun and how to go on walks and adventures she would be so happy. Truffle has so much fun and love to give, she just needs a bit of help to get there.
