Tonto is an 18-month old Cavalier who is being fostered in Worcester. He is very confident and outgoing. Loves his food, walks and playing in house with balls or soft toys. Lives life to the full and loves it. A real pleasure to foster. He has real character and keeps his fosterer on her toes!

People – Absolutely adores people of all kinds. Will approach them for a fuss and will accept treats. Brilliant with children who are his favourites. He would be fine in family situation

Dogs – Loves all sorts of dogs. Has been put in his place by resident dog and dogs he’s met on walks with no retaliation.

Cats – Very interested in the cat in his foster home, who has hissed at him. Unfazed and still interacting with cat.

In the home – House-training is ongoing. He’s now using puppy pads and is also going outside so he’s starting to make the connection. Sleeps in dog bed on floor by his  fosterer’s bed. He hasn’t been tested in a crate. He does like to chew and will run off with anything that’s not nailed down! He loves to play with soft toys and balls but he will chew so needs to be supervised. Magazines, books and puppy pads will be shaken to death and shredded! He loves his food but not over fond of biscuit dog treats much preferring meats and sausages. Not food or toy aggressive at all. Have left him with resident dog for up to 3.5 hours and was fine.

Out and about – He gets very excited when out on his lead so will leap about a bit but can walk sedately when encouraged to. Took him out in car yesterday and put him in boot with resident dog and he was calm and relaxed about it. Settled down immediately. Not taken him to vet yet but don’t envisage any problems.

Type of home – Tonto is a good all rounder. He could settle in a home with or without another dog but does need active owners. He would probably do best in home where children can take an active part as he’s still only a baby in his head and loves children.

Tonto is neutered, chipped, vaccinated and up to date with his flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet him in his foster home in Worcester.
