Rosie D2023-149

  • Can be an only dog
  • Can also live with another active dog
  • Older children
  • No cats
  • Active family willing to commit to her training and future

Rosie is a 12 to 18 month old spaniel cross described by her foster mum as great with everyone she has met both in and out of the home. She is very energetic and playful and is great with the resident dog. She loves to cuddle up with humans and dogs alike and has a very cheeky nature.

She cannot be homed with cats as she will chase them and needs to be homed with older dog savvy children.

Rosie plays with toys alone and loves a game of tug of war with the other dogs. She also loves playing with a ball and such like.

Rosie needs to continue her training in her forever home as she does pull on her harness when out and about. As a typical spaniel she loves to sniff and explore. She has been off lead on secure land that foster mum has and loves the freedom. She has a good recall and foster mum will crouch down to get her back on lead.

Rosie currently sleeps on foster mums bed and on the sofa in the daytime.

Rosie is almost housetrained. She forgets when she is playing or gets excited so needs a good routine to be taken out often with some yummy rewards when she has done good.

Rosie eats in a separate room to the resident dogs as she will rush her food and then want to steal everyone else’s food. We would recommend a slow feeder for Rosie so she can learn to take her time. She also needs training around the bowl being placed down as she gets over excited and will dive for the bowl. This is due to not having regular meals previously so will improve with time and patience.

Rosie can be rehomed with or without another dog but needs an active family who will commit to her and her future. She would benefit from attending puppy school and once she has mastered the basics would excel in any fileld. Like all dogs she will need time to settle and learn to trust her family but she is such a special girl it would be impossible not to fall in love with her at first sight.
