****PLEASE READ THE FULL WRITE UP BEFORE APPLYING****

POTENTIAL ADOPTERS MUST BE PREPARED TO TRAVEL TO MEET QUEENIE

NEEDS AT LEAST ONE OTHER CONFIDENT RESIDENT DOG

OLDER DOG SAVVY CHILDREN

NOT CAT TESTED

PATIENT LOVING PARENTS WHO CAN INVEST TIME IN QUEENIE TO HELP HER ADJUST TO A PET

Queenie is a 4 year old Bichon described by her foster mum as a very gentle loving soul. She is starting to realise that this is her new life and is growing in confidence and really coming out of her shell. She now gets very excited at breakfast and supper time and starts bouncing on her legs which is wonderful to see.

When the house is quiet Queenie will either lie on the floor or on her favourite dog bed where she will spend most of her time chilling out and watching the world go by. She will bark if she isn’t sure of noises but just needs reassurance and she will stop.

Visitors and new people need to be told to approach in a calm and loving manner with no loud noises or sudden movements she’s happy to cuddle all day long! You just need to build that trust. She prefers to be approached on her level and once she gets a tickle she can’t resist coming back for more.

We would recommend dog savvy children above 10 years old who can give her the time and space she might need settling into a new home

She has not been cat tested but was very interested in the rabbits to start and after being told they didn’t want to play she now leaves them alone

She will need some work on walking on the lead and to generally get used to daily life and noises outside of the home but all this will come in time when she feels safe.

Queenie hasn’t had any accidents in the home as she has been given plenty of opportunity to go outside. She is crate trained and sleeps in one overnight and if foster parents go out during the day.

Queenie needs a home with at least one other dog, older dog savvy children and patient pawrents who can help her transition to a much loved pet. She needs someone who will invest time in her.
