🐾 3 year old Dachshund x Basset Hound
Percy is a lovable little character who has found himself looking for a new home through no fault of his own, following a change in family circumstances. He’s a friendly, affectionate boy who absolutely adores people and happily greets everyone he meets.
Percy is full of personality and loves to play. His favourite toy is a cuddly pig that he proudly carries around, although other soft toys sometimes end up undergoing a very thorough investigation of their stuffing! He also enjoys a game of ball.
He walks nicely in his harness and is happy to walk on the lead once he feels confident about where he’s going. At home Percy is a real cuddle bug – he currently sleeps on the bed and will quietly shuffle closer to his humans during the night if he thinks he can get away with it!
Percy is house trained and takes treats nicely, even around other dogs. He can live as an only dog, where he can soak up all the attention, or with a calm, docile female dog.
Percy does have a skin condition which is currently managed with steroids and a grain-free diet, and this treatment will likely need to continue in his new home.
He would thrive in a home where someone is around for much of the day and with adopters who understand breeds like Dachshunds or Basset Hounds. Percy is a clever boy who will benefit from continued training and enrichment to keep his busy brain happy.
