Nutmeg is a gorgeous 5 year old short hair golden Daxi with big soulful brown eyes who already has her Foster family in the palm of her paw. She is shy with people and quite nervous of new things but with reassurance she will give it a try. She responds really well to praise but isn’t sure what a treat is – although I’m sure that will change.
She loves going outside to explore in her Foster families secure garden and having a good sniff – with her little tail wagging as she does her wiggly bum walk down the garden. She has recently been playing zoomies with the other dogs and although her legs are small and she’s usually at the back, she still bounces and runs along.
In the house she loves lying in her bed or having cuddles and has been found fast asleep next to the cat. She has also been known to cuddle up with her Foster mum while both have had an afternoon nap!! – she is learning about fist bump nose boops which she loves.
Nutmeg hasn’t been tried with visitors but will hide when doorbell rings she just needs to find her confidence. She prefers to eat on her own at the moment but eats well. She does go out to toilet with the occasional accident when she hasn’t been let out for a while – she doesn’t yet know how to tell the humans.
She will wear a harness but is not lead trained at this time due to nervousness. She is a beautiful, cuddly and smiley girl who just wants to be loved.
Nutmeg could live with older dog savyy children as younger ones would scare her
She doesn’t mind cats – but has no interest
Nutmeg would like a home with another dog to give her confidence when she comes to explore the outside world. She would like lots of human snuggles and unconditional love. She also needs her humans to have some time and patience whilst she adjusts. She is cat friendly as long as the cat doesn’t mind dogs – she would be scared of a dominant cat.
