A PATEINT LOVING HOME WITH OWNERS HOME MOST OF THE TIME

Nutmeg or Meg for short is a 3 year old cavalier cross who is very timid when she first meets anyone but will soon follow them around quite happily. She is learning to trust people but this is taking time. She has had a lot to adjust too and they all do it at their own pace. She does now look to foster mum for a cuddle but it’s after she has thought about it for a while. She doesn’t yet play with toys but loves to chase the other dogs round when they are playing.

She walks well at heel & tolerates the harness but will freezes when a lead is attached to her collar. She gets on well with the other dogs in the home and hasn’t reacted to things seen in the garden

She’s very intelligent and learned to climb the stairs after watching the other dogs in the home. She is wary of men but a bit of bribery with a treat and a calming tone allowing her to take her time she is much better and they are able to approach her.

She has met dog savvy children and has been happy for them to make a fuss of her. She has been to visit relatives and wasn’t bothered by seeing a zimmer frame.

She has not been small furry or cat tested

Meg is clean in the home and has found her safe spaces. She likes to sleep in her own bed at the side of her foster mums at night and uses a donut bed in the day downstairs

She has not yet had full vaccinations but has been practicing harness walking in the garden and has been doing great. This will need to continue in her forever home with patient owners.

Meg would like to live with someone who is home most of the time especially while adjusting to her new life. She needs another dog to learn from and follow to help her become the dog she has always wanted to be. She is looking forward to being braver and going for walks in the future once she has adjusted. She may go back a few steps in her recovery and owners need to be patient as this is expected but her new fur brother or sister will soon show her the ropes and given time you won’t recognise her.
