Harvey is an 8-month old Bichon Frise cross who is being fostered in RCT, South Wales. He is as cute as a button and full of energy – always on the lookout for mischief.

People – Harvey is really scared of humans but at the same time is desperate for interaction. When he first came into rescue, his foster mum couldn’t touch him, but now he comes over to ask for attention. He won’t let her stroke his back yet but should do once he gains in confidence. Due to this fear, we will not rehome him with children.

Dogs –   Harvey is happy around other dogs and will only be rehomed where there is another dog for company.

Cats – Not cat tested.

In the home – Harvey’s toilet training is a work in progress, but he is pretty good as long as the door is open. He sleeps in a crate in the kitchen but isn’t keen on the door being shut – he barks and scratches at the crate if you lock it. He has been destructive towards furniture in his foster home, but the incidences are getting less and less so he is learning boundaries. His energies have been focussed with a yak chew, which he loves. He pinches shoes and chews them and loves ripping paper. That said, the negatives are getting less as he learns what he’s allowed to chew and what he’s not allowed to chew. He does love a cuddly toy to de-stuff. He is ok when left as he has the other dogs for company

Out and about –  Harvey isn’t used to walking on a lead yet and he will refuse to go anywhere when on one. This will be ongoing in his new home, but we are sure he will get the hang of it eventually. He travels well in the car and was fine at the vets.

Type of home –     A quiet adult home is a must for Harvey. He will need another active resident dog in his new home, as the big joy in Harvey’s life is playing with the other dogs.  Someone who has loads of patience to coax Harvey out of his shell and continue his training.

Harvey is neutered, chipped, vaccinated and up to date with his flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet him in his foster home in RCT, South Wales
