NEEDS A RESIDENT PLAYFUL DOG

ACTIVE FAMILY

NOT CAT TESTED

OLDER DOG SAVVY CHILDREN

Englebert or Bertie as his foster mum lovingly calls him is a 4 year old Chihuahua that is quite boisterous, playful and loving. He is still learning what are toys and what are not. His little personality has appeared and is shining through day by day. He is a tiny boy with a very big personality. He needs another dog that’s just as active, so they can do zoomies around the garden together. Now that he knows what zoomies are and how fun they are he does this 3 or 4 times a day.

Bertie’s medical history will be discussed with any potential adopters.

He is still a little shy with new people but comes around quickly if they give him space to work it out. He also takes his queues from the other dogs in the home. The most endearing thing about Bertie is that he has learned to love and trust, he likes cuddles, and to shows you his love with dog kisses. He loves being smoothed… he really is a little bundle of love.

Bertie would do well with older children, he has been tested with dog savvy 11 year olds and was fine.

He hasn’t been cat tested and likes to shout at the neighbours’ cats that don’t come in the garden. He may be okay in time as long as introductions are carefully made.

Bertie loves home comforts and likes the freedom of a front and back garden. He has the run of the home and enjoys sleeping on the sofa, in dog beds and on his foster mums bed. He will also sleep in the kitchen with the other foster dogs.

Lead training is ongoing and he is now wearing a harness around the house and garden and foster mum has started walking him in the garden to build his confidence. He is still nervous around traffic and sudden noises. He will need the confidence of the other dogs to help him be the dog he was always meant to be. He is very treat orientated so with treats, Patience and small walks he will get there as he is a very clever boy.

Bertie needs someone that is home most of the time as he doesn’t do well if left for long periods. This little boy has big personality and can easily get up to mischief if left to his own devices. He needs boundaries, training and the help of a resident dog for him to fulfil his true potential. He is an active dog but is also a proper cuddle monster. He ticks all the right boxes for the right family who will give him the time as he listens and learns so quickly. He is going to be one amazing little man.
