Clara D2023-120

  • Needs a resident dog
  • No children or late teens
  • Fine with cats
  • Patient and loving owners

Clara is estimated to be around 5 years old and is a nervous Bichon who is very much a work in progress. As an ex breeder her view of the world was very limited with no love given. Her world has now been turned upside down so she is trying to find where she fits into it. Having rescued too many to count like Clara we know that as fosterers we have done all we can now and she needs to grow in her forever home with her special family. Anyone who has adopted an ex breeder knows the very familiar one step forward and two back that this journey will be, but it will be so worth it. To see her blossom into the princess she should have always been is just so rewarding.

Clara is nervous of people and her first instinct is to stay away and avoid any contact at present. Her foster family allowed her time to decompress and think about the world and now she is starting to become more at ease with them but eye contact, unexpected movement, loud sounds all overwhelm her and she will seek a safe space to work things out. Her new family will need to ensure they put no pressure on Clara until she shows an interest in them. This is going to be all on her terms.

Despite this Clara is far more relaxed in the garden with the resident dogs. Her tail goes up and she’s even had a few little rolls in the grass! She hasn’t met any people outside her foster family yet.

Clara is at the very beginning of her journey and is learning that she is now safe and has just recently given gentle licks to foster mum’s hand in the morning. She will need her humans to have patience and give her all the time she needs to venture into her new family life. She is such a lovely, gentle girl, the rewards for her forever family will be just wonderful.

Clara takes no notice at all of her foster family’s cat.

Foster mum feels that an adult only home is the best environment to help Clara feel safe and secure.

Clara hasn’t shown an interest in playing with toys yet, but will sometimes rest her head on soft toys when placed in her bed. She is beginning to follow the resident dogs outside, sniffing and exploring, and will watch them playing together.

Clara will let foster mum put harness on, and attach a lead but will pull away and try to escape if any pressure is put on it. This is all new to her and it’s going to take time. Her first reaction is flight, her forever family will need to slowly help her learn to trust them and to believe that she is now safe and sound.

Clara sleeps right through the night in a dog bed next to foster parent’s bed.

Clara is clean overnight and toilets in the garden, She does not ask to be let out but will go into the garden if the door is open.

Clara eats separately from the resident dogs at present due to her nervousness, but will now eat her food with foster mum sitting quietly in the same room. She is learning how lovely treats are, and will now accept little bits of chicken, ham and cheese from foster mum’s hand. She has never shown any resource guarding over food.

Clara needs a quiet, calm home environment where her new family have experience in nurturing and caring for frightened, rescued souls like gentle Clara. An adult only home would be best, with a gentle, calm dog to help Clara learn that her new humans are kind and loving, and to help her learn how wonderful a dog’s life can be. She will need access to a completely secure garden, with no chance of escape. It’s also important for someone to be home most of the time to help Clara form a positive and bonding relationship.

Sooty D2023-134

  • Can be an only dog or live with another dog
  • Has been fine with cats he’s seen
  • Can live with sensible children

Sooty is a 3 year old Maltese cross described by his foster mum as a special little man who absolutely adores humans. He gets so excited when he meets new people and will jump and bark in excitement licking your face to show you how pleased he is to meet you. He soon settles but will still like to sit on your lap and snuggle in.

Sooty is a cuddly boy that loves nothing more than snuggling on his humans lap or going for walks. He is fine wearing a harness and lead and loves to have walks and explore the outside world.  As soon as he sees the lead he gets so excited and jumps around eager to go.

Sooty is fine with cats in the garden in his foster home but is not currently living with any.

Sooty loves everyone and would be fine being rehomed with gentle children that respect him and are not to heavy handed.

He loves to play with toys but he prefers his humans to play with him and throw toys for him.

Sooty sleeps on his foster mums bed and he sleeps all night.

Sooty is not 100% toilet trained but he is learning to go outside when taken regularly.

Sooty is fine eating around other dogs but can be a bit fussy with his food. He prefers chicken but will eat wet food at a push.

Sooty is looking for a home that will totally love him and enjoy snuggling as much as him. Someone who is home most of the time and someone who is willing to take him on daily walks so he can explore the outside world. He can be rehomed as an only dog or with another dog.

Jolene D2023-56

  • Can be an only dog
  • Could live with a male dog.
  • No cats
  • Older children
  • A family who loves to cuddle

Jolene is a 3 year old Pug who loves everyone! She gives lots of kisses on your face, hands or even feet! She gets all excited around new people and does a little ‘happy dance’.

Veterinary history to be discussed but she had to have an eye removed which is completely healed and doesn’t bother her.

Jolene is a very sweet girl who loves company in the house. She likes to follow you around everywhere and she likes sleeping at your feet when you are sat at a table/desk. If you get up you can guarantee she is coming too. When she is ready for a nap, she will snuggle up with you and will nestle right into you, or she’ll find a good spot to stretch out. She suckles on beds/blankets/cushions and kneads them for comfort.

She likes to have things to do and enjoys licki mats and playing with soft toys. She enjoys watching the TV too and will tilt her head side to side listening!

She is not cat tested but she LOVES to chase birds in the garden so we think she would chase cats..

She is a typical pug bouncy and a bit of bulldozer despite her small size! She can also be a bit mouthy when playing which is just over excitement. Due to this we think she would probably be better off with slightly older, sensible children.

Jolene loves playing with soft toys and will play by herself.

She is great with harness and lead on and gets excited when she sees it or you say walkies! She has been practicing in the garden but will need reminding of some manners on the lead, she is mostly good but gets over excited and pulls/barks. She has started going walkies and this is improving daily.

She currently sleeps downstairs on a dog bed, but she would be just as at home on the bed!

She is mostly clean in the house. She has had the odd accident – she isn’t good at letting you know when she needs to go, so will need reminding of this.

She is a typical pug and loves her food. She will grumble if another dog approaches her when she is eating. No problem when fed separately and she hasn’t approached the resident dog whilst he is eating. She is fine with treats and chews and would eat any sort of human food if left unattended.

Jolene is so easy going she would fit into any home. She ideally needs someone around most the time who appreciates her pug-ness. Someone who has the time to put in some training. Apart from that she would settle into most homes well as long as there is love and food. She is a bit of a ladies man and could live with a male dog.

Luna D2023-007

  • Can be an only dog
  • Can live with another older quieter dog
  • Fine with children
  • Active home

Luna is 6 year old Staffy that came into foster due to having a pyometra and had to have emergency surgery- she still has stitches and is on limited exercise till she fully recovers but is doing great and feeling so much better. Despite having gone through so much she is a super happy girl.

Luna is a very content young lady. She is a waggy tailed staffy in the house and is always happy to see you and may even sing to say hello to you when she is in the mood.

Luna is a very good house guest, she is calm in the house, loves zoomies in the garden and loves a cuddle but will also put herself to bed when she’s had enough.

Luna ignores the resident house cat, outside she would chase a cat but could live with one with careful introductions.

Luna would be fine with children, she can be boisterous with toys but has a lovely nature.

Luna loves a tennis ball, she can get over excited and start barking when she sees one but she’s very playful with toys.

Out and about Luna can be a bit of a puller initially but soon calms down on a walk and walks well.

She currently sleeps in the kitchen at night with a baby gate across that she seems fine with.

House trained.

Luna loves her food and treats.

Luna would like an active home with people home during the day to give her company, a home ideally without other dogs but she could live with a calmer older dog. She just prefers her own space indoors and can be boisterous when playing so would benefit from a one on one home but equally she lives happily with other dogs in foster so with the right match she could be homed with another dog. A home that will appreciate it’s been a lot of change for Luna recently as she might take time to settle.

Bodger D2023-122

  • Can be an only dog if owners around most of the time
  • Can live with another sensible dog
  • Older teenage children
  • No cats
  • He’s a work in progress and will need patience and time

Bodger is a 2 year old Mini Dachshund who is currently very unsure of his place in the world. Once he trusts you, he bonds very quickly and gives loving bumps with his nose when he wants attention. In the home with his person he is settled but if any strangers come to visit then his nervous side shows by him barking and growling. This is being managed by placing him in a cage (his safe space) allowing him to think about his behaviour and learn that people are not there to hurt him. Once he is calm the door is opened and he can choose if he wants to say hello or not.

He is happy wearing a harness and lead but due to his nervous nature he has not yet been taken out on walks. He is improving every day and there is nothing more his foster mum can teach him now. He needs to continue his lessons in his forever home and bond with his forever family. Once he feels safe his character starts to show and just like an onion, he has many layers, these are going to need time and patience to be peeled back allowing him to be the happy little fur baby he always should have been.

Bodger being the good little sausage that he is loves his bed and falls asleep with it in his mouth for comfort. He loves toys and to play and really loves being in the garden exploring. He will play with other dogs but can take it or leave it preferring to be with his human.

Bodger does not like cats and is not keen on small people. He can be rehomed with older sensible teens but anything smaller really worries him.

He currently sleeps in his bed in a cage (his safe place) in foster mums bedroom and dreams of chasing squirrels at night. He loves his food but is not a greedy little sausage and is happy to eat with others around. He also takes a treat nicely.

Bodger in true sausage style is house trained but if its raining you are going with him with a big umbrella so he doesn’t get wet.

Bodger is very much a work in progress he has clearly had an unsettled past which has led him to distrust people and afraid that they are going to harm him. He can be homed with another dog or as an only dog as long as his human is there to support him. He is not going to be good in a busy household and needs lots of quiet time for his worries to subside. When he realises he’s safe he’s very loving and cuddly but feels better when he knows his boundaries and routine.

Zadie D2023-128

  • Can be an only dog with doggy friends
  • Can also live with another similar size or larger dog
  • Children over 7
  • Not cat tested
  • Enjoys her walkies

Zadie is a 3 year old Pug cross Maltese described by her foster mum as a friendly little girl that loves all humans in the home and those she meets out on a walk. She loves to sit in the window and watch the world go by reporting back about any noises she can hear outside. She is also great at letting you know when someone knocks the door as she doesn’t want you to miss any people that may be coming to pay her attention or any exciting deliveries from the postman for her.

Zadie is fine around other dogs but can sometimes be a grumpy bear if they disturb her when she wants to be alone or is pondering her next potential role as an Ewok in Star Wars. Like all Ewoks she shows her displeasure by grumbling.

Zadie has been great with sensible gentle children and was very excited to meet a dog savvy child who offered up lots of attention and belly rubs. This young lady sure does love the lime light.

Zadie likes to chew her toys so super strong toys are best for her and can keep her busy for at least 10 mins. Despite living with lots of dogs she doesn’t really play with them very often as she doesn’t appear to know how to and gets the signals all wrong. She clearly wants to know the rules of the game but no one has told her how and she can charge in like a bull in a china shop not knowing her own strength.

Zadie loves to be out on the lead exploring but be warned do not mention the word “Walkies” to her or mime it or say it so quietly only mice can hear as believe us Zadie will hear you and will then pester you until you take her out. She loves the smells and getting attention from other walkers and dogs. She walks lovely on a lead and pays attention to foster mum when given guidance.

Zadie sleeps on foster mums bed all night with no accidents.

Zadie is house trained and she always has access to the garden.

Zadie can be a fussy eater but is fed separately in the foster home so she can take her time. She has mentioned that she would like to be homed with a Michelin star chef but we are trying to manage her expectations.

Zadie could be rehomed with a larger dog or one of similar size as she’s not sure how to play with small breeds and can be a little ruff. She’s fantastic with gentle children so can be rehomed with children from 7 years up. She would love a home that would walk her a few times a day to explore.

Mabel D2023-123

  • Can be an only dog
  • Can live with another quiet dog who doesn’t mind sharing
  • Children 10 and over
  • Frenchie knowledgeable home

Mabel is a 2 year old French Bulldog described by her foster mum as great with adults and children in the home and loves to meet people out and about, she will bark if she sees people behind a fence or window but is all cuddles and love when she can actually reach them.

She can be nervy about sudden hand movements which is why we would recommend a home with children over the age of 10.

She bonds very quickly and will want a Frenchie knowledgeable home who are used to their quirks.

She is very cuddly and is very much a people’s dog, if it was up to her she would go everywhere with you and sit on your lap at all times.

She is not a fan of sharing her humans with other dogs, she would like all the time and attention for herself, she is very loyal and an absolute goofball.

Mabel is fully toilet trained, crate trained and knows basic commands (sit, wait, stay etc)

She enjoys her toys but does not like to share, she could be re-home with another dog but that dog would need to be submissive and owners experienced with Frenchie’s and know how to introduce properly.

Whilst in foster she has done a combination of sleeping with her foster mum and the different children in the home. She has also slept downstairs with the other dogs and sleept in the crate .. she has been fine with all of these so it is up to her new owner what they would prefer.

If the other dog is the home will not allow Mabel to have her own way with high value chews, toys and food then she will throw her dolly out the pram.

There are no issues around normal dog food.

Mabel would suit as an only dog home or could live in a multiple home if owners are experienced with frenchies and their quirks. She would suit most homes where there is a person or multiple people who will treat her like the queen she thinks she is and give her endless fuss, attention and cuddles.

Jack D22023-124

  • Can be an only dog with his owners around most of the time
  • Can live with another dog
  • Dog savvy cats
  • Dog savvy children 8 and over
  • Patient and positive parents

Jack is a 6 month old Labrador cross Collie pup described by his foster mum a total people lover. He adores being adored and is incredibly affectionate. He’s a bit unsure on first meetings but as soon as he’s decided you’re ok then be prepared to be smothered in kisses. Unfortunately due to his background Jack was too scared to go outside the home when he first came into foster, with gentle persistence and the help of treats that has gradually changed until he’s now having two short walks a day in quieter areas. He was very nervous about interacting with people and dogs whilst out at first but now he will happily say hello to a select few, he generally makes a beeline for people rather than dogs but he is happy to greet well behaved dogs.

Jack is very happy in his home and garden with his people around. He loves to shadow his people around the house as they go about their day. When he first arrived he couldn’t bear to be out of sight of his persons but as he’s gained  confidence he has become a little more independent, however be prepared that he may regress to being clingy again in his new home. It’s very likely he will always be the kind of dog who just loves to be with his people. Despite loving his people if Jack sees you leave the house and not just go upstairs out of his sight, he has been okay to leave for short periods. This is helped with a particularly tasty chew or frozen kong and this can be built on in his forever home as he gains in confidence. Due to his background he doesn’t like being shut in a room by himself and will cry. He hasn’t been destructive at all but he is still only a puppy so he may still discover his naughty side when he’s feeling more settled and confident.

Jack is wary of cats so possibly could be homed with a dog savvy cat

Jack adores all people big and small but he’s a very sensitive pup who is also a bit clumsy and will jump up and occasionally still puppy mouth although this is becoming less frequents. We would say he can be homed with kind dog savvy kids 8+ depending on their experience of dogs and their ability to understand Jack’s worries and help him to overcome them with their parents guidance.

Jack loves to play with stuffed toys, chews, but most of all he loves to chase his ball in the garden. He will play with the resident dog if they’re both inclined and his play has become increasingly confident and more boisterous, in short more like a six month old puppy which is a big difference from when he first arrived and he ran away from the resident dog as soon as she play bowed. He is equally happy to play alone with his toys or with any available human.

Jack had a very poor start in life kept constantly in one room so came to us with no experience of the outside world and had extremely limited experience of socialising with other dogs. Consequently he was terrified of going outside the home. During his time in foster he has worked really hard gradually becoming more used to the world around him to the point he has now been taken on two solo walks a day and is doing really well learning how to walk on a lead and harness whilst coping with all the sensory input around him. He still need his person to advocate for him when meeting new people and dogs outside so his confidence improves further and he is not in situations that cause him to regress. Getting used to traffic is still a work in progress but he has gone from panicking at the sight and sound of a car to being mildly nervous if something is too close or too big or too noisy and this progress will need to be continued in his new home if Jack is to become fully comfortable moving in the big wide world.

Jack started by sleeping on foster mum’s bed because he hated the crate, he doesn’t move around much ‘, basically gives you a cuddle and curls up really small to sleep. However he has now started to sleep in his own bed in the bedroom and he will sleep a few hours in there before getting back on the bed with foster mum. With time and confidence and the right dog bed I think he’ll probably migrate there himself.

Completely house trained and asks to go out.

Jack has a healthy appetite and has shown no signs of possessiveness around food although they’re given treats together jack is fed twice a day separately from the resident dog because the resident dog is a food thief!

Jack can definitely go to a home as an only dog as he adores people or he can be homed with another kind dog who doesn’t mind an attention hogger as Jack is convinced humans are there to adore him only and will butt the other dog out of the way to get that attention. What is most important is that Jack finds people who are prepared to continue to work with him in overcoming his fears of the outside world in a positive, kind and patient way. He has made remarkable progress in a short time and he needs a home who are going to build on that progress and help him catch up on the socialisation he’s missed. A decent size garden for Jack to play in and chase his ball would be a plus. Jack hasn’t been exercised appropriately so far because he was shut away in one room and as a consequence he became quite a lazy pup who loves his naps but he is beginning to love his walks and will eventually love much longer walks as he builds his strength and stamina so will need his new family to be fairly active. Jack also needs people around most of the time who won’t mind him following them around to see what they’re up to, cuddling on the sofa, being their little work buddy and generally adoring them! He will also need training in manners and etiquette as this was non-existent in his life before coming into foster He has started with some basics in order to tackle his jumping up etc but he will benefit from further reward based, positive training.

Jill D2023-125

  • Needs a resident playful dog
  • Sensible teenage children who will help build her confidence
  • Would benefit from attending puppy school
  • Active home with patient loving parents

Jill is a 7 month old Lab cross Collie who hasn’t had the best start and has seen very little of the big wide world. When she first arrived in foster, she was very nervous and scared of everyone and everything. Within 48 hrs she was a different dog and felt very safe with her foster family as they knew she needed time to settle and adjust. She can still be wary of new people entering the home but as long as they wait for her to come to them then she is fine. She likes to watch and takes her queues from her foster mum.

Jill is well behaved and is learning to be a playful pup, learning that play time is such fun! She loves to have someone to play with her and really loves to play rough and tumble with her foster siblings.

Jill is wary of the family cats and has shown no sign of chasing and is just curious as to who they are.

She absolutely loves the sofa to have a nap on and loves nothing more than to snuggle up to her foster family.

Due to Jill being shy and a little nervous she can be homed with older dog savy teenagers.

Jill is amazing on a harness but is scared of the outside world and all the noises. She will need a home where her family will spend the time to help build her confidence with walking in the big wide world. She is very new to all this but is getting braver every day.

Jill loves to sleep! She loves to sleep on the sofa, on your lap and on your bed. She is also crate trained.
At the moment she sleeps with her doggy siblings in the kitchen at night.

Jill hasn’t had any accidents in the home and hasn’t shown any destructive nature but she is only a puppy and accidents can happen.

Jillie loves her food, she eats well from her bowl in between her foster siblings.

Jill deserves the absolute best in her forever home. She needs a home where someone is around in the day to help her build her confidence and to show her how great life is. When settled she will need an active life where she will be given lovely long daily walks. Jill is currently a little shy so a calm household is essential in helping her understand that life will be great and she is safe. She needs another confident playful dog that will help her to come out of her shell and play tuggies with her as currently this is her favourite game. Jill would also benefit from attending puppy school to build her confidence in a controlled environment.

Dorothy D2023-119

  • Needs a resident dog
  • Good with cats in garden
  • Older children
  • Loving patient owners

Dorothy is a 4 year old Yorkie described by her foster mum as a lover of all humans she’s happiest snuggled up on the sofa resting her little head on any human willing to offer a lap. She is a proper cuddle monster; she adores laying on the settee next to her human so if sofas are out of bounds Dorothy is not the dog for you. She’s a laid back little lady who likes the quieter things in life but in the right home would love to learn all about the outside world.

Dorothy is not bothered about wearing a harness or lead but is currently unsure about the outside world when on a walk but this is work in progress and will need to be continued in her new home.

Dorothy is not bothered by cats that visit in the garden but has not been tested in the house with one but foster mum thinks she would be fine.

Dorothy is fine with quiet gentle children who give her space and understand she can be nervous at times. Children about 10 plus would be fine in the home and visiting children any age would be fine as long as supervised.

Dorothy has not yet learnt to play with toys and although she is currently living with another dog, she does not depend on her but watches and learns from the resident dog so will need another dog in her new home.

Dorothy sleeps wherever she chooses in her foster home. She currently prefers to sleep on her mums bed and sleeps soundly all night with no accidents.

Dorothy is nearly housetrained and will use a puppy pad now and again if she doesn’t have access to the garden.

Dorothy eats well in her foster home she is separated to eat from the other dog as she will steal the other dogs food once she’s eaten hers

Dorothy would benefit from a quiet home that would teach her all about the outside world that she’s missed out on so far. A patient loving home that will allow her to snuggle and feel safe with her humans and another dog in the home to show her the ropes would be ideal.

Ella and Tippi D2023-116/117

  • Need to be rehomed together
  • They can be as a pair or live with other dogs
  • Not cat or small furry tested
  • Older sensible children
  • Patient and loving family who will spoil them rotten

Ella is 6 years old and Tippi is 4. The girls are not currently looking their best but are 100% better than they were. They are preparing for next years summer body now.

Ella and Tippi are Shih tzu’s and believed to be mother and daughter. They need to be rehomed together as they are very bonded. They are described by their foster mum as dear little souls that just want to be loved. They have not had the best start and came into rescue as ex breeders with quite severe skin problems so don’t currently look their best. Foster mum has worked really hard and they are now waiting to blossom into the dogs that they should have always been.

They are fine with other dogs.

Currently their favourite thing is being outside in the sun ( with doggy sun jackets so they don’t burn)  or lying on a sunbed in the shade. They are very low maintenance and are just enjoying being safe and loved. They have recently discovered the sofa and cuddles and are always up for a pat or tickle under the chin. Most of the time you don’t even know they are around just the odd bark.

Tippi likes playing with a ball or toy and Ella just watches. They have their own little characters with Tippi being playful and Ella being the watchful assessing one. They are not particularly nervous dogs they are just very much accepting of everything and not reactive to things at all.

Both are fine with gentle children and have been enjoying the attention.

Not cat or small furry tested

Lead and harness training is very much a work in progress. They are fine wearing a harnesses but are working on having the lead attached. This training will need to continue in the garden once they have settled before progressing outside to the big wide world.

They currently sleep in their own beds in the kitchen and sleep all night.

House training is almost there they just need reminding occasionally to go outside.

They both eat fine not greedy and not bothered about other dogs being around.

The girls need to be rehomed together and this could be as a pair or with other dogs. They would fit in lovely to any home. They need a family who is going to adore and spoil them. These girls when ready are not going to need big long walks but they still should get to enjoy the outside world once they are ready.

Daisy D2023-115

*Can be an only dog or live with another

* Older teenage children

* Dachshund experienced home

Daisy is a 2 year old Dachshund described by her foster mum as a little timid when she first meets you but is desperate to trust. Once she knows you she is very friendly, playful and cuddly.

She is interested in cats so probably would be best living with other dogs rather than cats or small animals.

As she can be a little timid she would suit an adult home, or a home with older children who are understanding of a dogs need for space.

Daisy plays with toys and once she knows another dog will play with them too.

Daisy walks well on a harness.

Daisy sleeps downstairs at night with no issue.

House training is a work in progress so needs patient owners to work on this with her.

Daisy is very smart and food driven so training is always fun.

Daisy needs a knowledgeable Dachshund home or a home that’s researched the breed. A home with or without other dogs. A home that will take her on adventures.

Liza Minelli D2023-114

  • Resident dog of a similar size
  • Older teenage children
  • Chihuahua experienced home

Liza is a nearly two years old chihuahua described by her foster mum as a typical chi. She is scared and unsure of new people when she first meets them and will bark growl or hide if she feels out of her depth. Once she’s given you her approval she’s a happy girl and will happily trot around following you and snuggle next to you. She needs her new family to advocate for her and leave her to digest her new surroundings in these situations but it doesn’t take her long to trust then she’s a happy cheeky little girl.

She can also be unsure when first meeting dogs, well everyone is much bigger than her, but she is in foster with 3 other dogs and although she now and again tries to play with them especially the small breed and follow them she’s happy to be with her human as much as she can.

Liza has taken a huge liking to the 14 year old in the home and is quite happy to spend all her time with him and no one else unless he’s not there then foster mum or dad will have to do. She will support him when he’s playing on his Xbox by cuddling right up to him and follow him in and out the garden when he calls her. She sleeps all night on his bed and will sit in the window and wait for him when he pops out.

She has tried on a few occasions to play with the smaller breed dogs in her foster home and with time and the right dog they could be best of friends

Liza adores being out on the lead and gets excited when she sees it. She is happy to meet new people out and about but will constantly look to her humans for reassurance.

Liza sleeps on her foster mums sons bed and sleeps all night cuddled up and it’s her best place to be.

Liza needs encouragement from her humans to remember to toilet outside. As soon as she is in the garden she will go but she needs to be reminded.

Liza does not have any food aggression she eats very slowly and will need time to finish her meal if around other dogs as they may be likely to steal it.

Liza is looking for a chihuahua experienced home with another dog for her to follow and learn from. She would love a teenager or family member that would invite her for cuddles and let her sleep on their bed. Small children are scary to her so no young children in the home. She would like to continue her adventures outside so needs a family who will take her for nice walkies.

Fudge and Spangles D2023-109

  • Need to be homed together
  • Not cat or small furry tested
  • Older sensible children
  • Patient loving owners

Fudge and Spangles are 4 year old Cocker Spaniel ex breeding bitches that are super bonded and really rely on each other. We would really like them to find a home together as they take so much comfort from each other.

Fudge is very nervous of people and is currently de compressing and not engaging watching what Spangles is doing and learning that she is safe. Spangles adores people, she wants to be as close as possible and have cuddles 24 hours a day. She is a little Diva princess and wants you sat next to her at all times. She will shout if you sit on another chair away from her. She adores attention and her tail does not stop wagging as she accompanies you everywhere you go.

Fudge despite being nervous of people is comfortable in the company of other dogs. She prefers to be in the garden or in an open crate indoors and has just started to sleep on the sofa accepting being gently stroked when calm. Outside her tail is always wagging and she desperately wants to come for a fuss but not yet brave enough. She will sniff fingers or take a treat then scuttles off again. She is being praised for every positive step and enjoys being praised.

Spangles is full of confidence and is even a bit cheeky. She is very inquisitive and wants to help with whatever her human is doing. She does not like other dogs and will give a warning to any that come too close. We feel she is protecting Fudge and as Fudges confidence grows this improve.

Not cat or small furry tested.

This gorgeous pair can be homed with sensible older children who will understand that Fudge is nervous and needs time and Spangles can be their go to dog for initial gentle cuddles.

Both are not yet interested in toys or playing and do not play with other dogs. They just rely on each other.

Its unclear if these pair have ever been walked or experienced the joys of the outside world so lead and harness training is a work in progress. This is not a priority at the moment. Making them feel safe and happy is.

The pair currently sleep together in an open crate or on the sofa cuddled up.

Toilet training is also a work in progress and they are improving daily.

Fudge is happy to eat with one other foster dog and away from the others and prefers to eat in the garden. She is just learning to take treats and will take one and run off somewhere safe to eat it.

Spangles eats outside with the other foster dog, away from other dogs. She loves her food and will eat everyone’s given a chance so she is learning to leave others alone whilst they are eating.

The pair need a calm home where they can learn and grow. Fudge needs very patient, calm, kind and gentle pawrents. Time and encouragement to settle and feel safe. Spangles will lap up all the attention that Fudge doesn’t currently want. She will need owners who would be patient to train her to walk on a lead forging the way for her sister when she is ready.

Elton D2023-91

               *Needs a resident dog

               * dog savvy cat

               * Active family

Elton is a 2yr 4 month Bichon/shih tzu Cross described by his foster mum as a cheeky little man who loves attention once he knows you. He is quite confident in the home and isn’t fazed by anything. He can be a little hand shy and wary of new people that visit and when he’s out on a walk. He loves to push the cushions off the sofas and pull off any fleece that are there as well and dig them into a pile on the floor.

He loves to play with toys and throw them about and jump from chair to chair chasing after them. He also enjoys chasing a ball and runs past his foster parents cheekily rather than drop it to be thrown again. He can be a cheeky boy and will tug at sleeves or trouser hems trying to get his foster parents to play tug.

He loves to play with the resident bichon and nips her legs and ears to get her to play and sometimes it’s as if they are boxing. It’s so lovely to watch this happy playful side come out.

Elton loves to lay on the sofa and snuggle in for a cuddle as long as you softly stroke his face. He so wants love and attention and is starting to relax at being picked up and handled when needed.

Elton lives with a cat and tries to play but the cat is in charge and gives him a swipe which is quite surprising for Elton who just sits looking bemused.

We would recommend children of 10 and over as Elton is going through his puppy phase and is a bit bitey and mouthing which is being worked on. Obviously being older his teeth aren’t puppy teeth anymore. He has finally found his play mode and can jump up suddenly ,so children need to be aware of how to treat him. He has met small children out on his walk and has been really good. His owner just needs to be aware that he’s quite bouncy and given the chance will jump up that can frighten children that don’t know him.

Elton gets so excited when he knows he’s going on a walk but will bite and pull his harness as if it’s a game Eventually when his harness is on he is desperate to get out and will pull with excitement. He’s confident on a walk, but its going to take a bit of time until he knows he needs to walk in a relatively straight line and not do whirlys and wrap himself around the person walking him. This is due to him being so interested in everything and everyone he sees out walking. He is desperate to meet every dog he encounters and will whimper if the dog is too far away to have a sniff of. As he is new to the outside world his parents need to initially pick his friends for him to keep him safe.

Elton sleeps on his foster mums bed soundly all night and likes to cuddle up looking so content when he gets a cuddle back.

Elton is 95% house trained and will make his way to the garden door to see if it’s open.

Elton currently eats using a slow feeder as he likes to inhale his food and away from other dogs as he will help them finish their food too. He needs to be handed his treat and told a firm no when others are given theirs as he will try and grab each and every treat, he is very fast and will try and snatch them from our hands
He is starting to listen but needs to be told no and that he must wait his turn.

Elton needs a home with another active dog around his age that wants to play chase and maybe bitey face games. He would like at least two decent walks a day, short walks wouldn’t do as he needs to get rid of lots of energy. He would be more suited to a family that lead a relatively active life. His adopters will need to realise that he is only just going through the puppy phase that he missed out on so he can be a bit naughty and like a whirl wind at times.

Rita D2023-107

  • Can be an only dog
  • Can also live with a calm dog
  • Not cat or small fury tested
  • Older children
  • Active home who will put in the time for love and training

Rita is a 15 month old Labrador described by her foster mum as a people lover both in and outside of the home. She loves to be petted, stroked and cuddled by humans and bonds quickly with people she meets.

She can be quite boisterous and excitable so would highly recommend training classes.

Rita is adorable, loving and cuddly. She loves to play with her toys, gnaw on an antler and fetch the tennis ball in the garden. She is very sensitive to unfamiliar sounds and sights such as a hoover, mop, lawn mower etc but as foster mum is a domestic goddess she is improving daily.

She is not cat or small furry tested.

We would recommend children of teenage years and above as Rita is still learning boundaries and has the tendency to bounce and be mouthy when excited or wanting human interaction.

She loves to play with her toys alone and tries to encourage the resident dog to interact in play. Sadly he finds her a bit OTT !!. She can get over excited when interacting with her humans and can become possessive of her human affection and push the resident dog out of the way. This is being worked on and she is slowly learning to share. She just needs firm boundaries, time and training.

For a youngster she walks really well on a harness and lead but again sensitive to unfamiliar sights. She will sit and wait at the kerb when encouraged and interacts favourably with other dogs when out and about.

Rita currently sleeps in a crate downstairs and sleeps soundly through the night without a sound.

Rita is house trained but hasn’t found her voice yet and you have to anticipate the signs of needing to go out.

Rita is not food orientated but also doesn’t like sharing her food so will need to be fed separate from any other dogs. She is learning to take treats nicely and be patient.

Rita would love an active household who would give her lots of exciting walks. She travels well harnessed in the back of the car.

Rita would benefit from training classes – she is quick to learn.

Sherbert D2023-105

  • Can be an only dog if owners home most of the time
  • Can live with other dogs
  • Older children
  • Not cat tested

Sherbert is a 7 year old Sealyham terrier described by his foster mum as a laid back little boy who loves nothing more that sniffing in the grass and cuddling up to his human. He adores everyone and is a happy little man.

Sherbert has not shown a lot of interest in cats so slow interactions should be fine.

He is fine around children but would rather not be around loud boisterous ones very often. Older gentle children he will gladly welcome to tickle his tummy.

Sherbert will play on and off with the resident dog but is equally happy being by himself.

Sherbert walks beautiful on the lead and loves his walks where he can sniff and explore.

Sherbert sleeps on his foster mum’s bed.

Sherbert may have the odd accident now and again but as long as the door is open he will do his business outside.

Sherbert loves his food.

Sherbert would like a quiet home that he can relax in he’d like to bumble around in the garden and go for lovely sniffy walks everyday. He could live with another dog or if his humans are home most of the time he would be as happy as an only dog.

Rolo D2023-102

  • Needs a sensible resident dog
  • No cats
  • Older children
  • Special family who will help him with his super power

Rolo is a very very special 8 month old deaf standard dachshund. It has only recently been confirmed that he is deaf and explains some of his behaviours. He is described by his foster mum as good with people he knows but will bark if he isn’t aware that new people have come near him or have magically appeared in a room.

Now he is secure in his environment his personality is coming out he is very cuddly and bouncy he loves the bathroom bins, and his biggest treasure is slippers or the toilet roll inner card. He loves toys and playing with the resident dog and will wander in with sticks to destroy like it’s the happiest thing in the world.

He barks at other dogs outside and new people because of the deafness once he feels comfortable, he calms.

Once he is used to another dog he is great and needs another dog in the house to take cues from as to noises around him and help him feel safe.

He is not good with cats and will chase as he is unable to read and hear the cats’ warnings.

He can be homed with older dog savvy children who will understand how special he is.

When out he will always need to be on a lead unless a secure field as he will be unable to hear recall.

He currently sleeps on foster mums’ bed with the other dogs. He likes to be around humans for reassurance.

House training is a work in progress whist he is learning sign language and this will need to be continued in his forever home.

He eats well with other dogs and does not grab.

Rolo is still young so an active family would be good with at least one other dog. He is going to need ongoing support with his deafness and need his pawrents to be his ears to keep him safe. He is such a loving and special little man that he is well worth the extra effort. His special needs just makes him extras special.

Star D2023-101

  • Can be an only dog with owners home most of the time
  • Can also live with other dogs
  • Not cat tested
  • Active family

Star is a 4 year old Labrador who loves everyone. She loves people and craves attention and cuddles. She adores toys and loves playing with them with her humans. She has a favourite ball and will happily chase after it all day. She is cuddly, playful, cheeky and full of confidence. Not at all shy or scared and can be a little full on when first meeting people but a gentle command and she will calm. She approaches every new situation full of enthusiasm. She is full of fun and will quickly adapt to a fun filled new home.

She is not tested, but has not reacted to cats met out on walks.

Star can be home with older children.  She is super friendly but is also big and a bit boisterous and could knock little ones over.

She loves her toys and will happily play with humans and other dogs. She’s not even bothered if another dog takes it away but prefers, they bring it back to her eventually. She proudly shows her human if she has found a new toy.

Star has been on a few short walks which she loves but she is a big strong girl who can pull so needs gentle reminding to calm and listen. This will need to continue in her new home or she will just pull like a train. She just needs to practice.

Star currently sleeps downstairs with other dogs in her foster home but is not happy about it. She whined for the first 2 nights but is now accepting of it if a light is left on. She would love to sleep with her owners.

Star is completely house trained if she has access to the garden.

Star is learning to respect other dogs when it is feed time. She has her food away from others and knows to leave others alone until they have finished eating. This is currently supervised and she is rewarded for behaving well. She is not bothered if others inspect her feed bowl once she has finished.

Star would love a very active home, with people around most of the time. She loves to play with people and her toys. She can get anxious if left alone but is fine with other dogs around to reassure her. She gets on with everyone, people and dogs but prefers people. She could live with another dog that is playful and fun but would also be happy being a people dog if she is with them all the time. She would love to be the centre of attention and go for lots of walks and adventures, She adores her cuddles and will push in past other dogs to get them. Star is confident, feisty and great fun.

Beckett D2023-100

  • Needs another dog
  • No cats
  • Great with everyone

Beckett is a 7 Month old Lurcher cross Saluki who hasn’t had a great start in life with some nasty people being not very nice to him, despite this he is the friendliest little boy you could wish for, he loves everyone and is so gentle. He has met people from babies to grandma’s and they all just fell in love with him. His foster mum says he is the most portable dog she’s ever met, you can take him anywhere and as long as you take a blanket he will lie by your side and watch the world go by.

He will steal your heart and he will steal your socks! As he has settled and gained weight a cheeky little side has come out. From the moment he walked into his foster home he was gentle, polite, toilet trained and so chilled. He has little bursts of energy and zoomies and then all he wants is a head scratch and a big comfy bed and he is happy.

He is a typical pup and will steal the odd sock or shoe but he isn’t overly chewy, as long as he is provided with some items he can chew he will leave anything else alone.

He is not cat or small furry tested and due to his breed we would recommend.

He is great with children of all ages.

He enjoys toys and bones and can spend lots of time throwing his toy around the garden and catching them again.

Beckett walks beautifully with a normal lead and collar. He has been on plenty of walks and is beautifully behaved.

Due to his breed it is unlikely he will be a big off lead dog due to prey drive, and this is not something that ahs been tested in his foster home.

Walks beautifully with a normal lead and collar. Has been on plenty of walks and beautifully behaved.

Beckett sleeps downstairs uncrated with the other dogs in the home and foster family do not hear a peep from him all night. He has no issues around food and is happy to share. He sits beautifully whilst waiting for his food or a treat and is happy to be fed first or last and will take treats ever so gently.

Beckett would like a home with another dog to play with and owners who are around most of the time. He is okay to be left but he likes to know you won’t be too long. New dog sibling must enjoy a game of bitey-face and chasing around the garden. He is used to a busy household but equally he would be great in a quiet household. He is used to both canine and human visitors to the house and is happy to see everyone.

Whoever rehomes him is going to be incredibly lucky, for a dog his age and the background he came from he is really the most amazing boy.

Violet D2023-98

  • Only dog If owners home most of the time
  • Can also live with other dogs
  • Children 7 and over

Violet is a 2 year old Yorkie who has come into rescue through no fault of her own having recently lost her loving mum. She has clearly been adored but as her previous mum was poorly for quite a while, she has led a quiet, sheltered life with no rules. She has been living with other dogs but craves human attention. Her favourite spot is on your lap or around your neck licking you. When settled she also loves cuddling by your side on the sofa.

Due to Violet being treated as a princess she is a very young 2 year old who doesn’t play with toys or other dogs. Preferring to be as close to her human as possible which is lovely but she has missed out on all the good things that being a dog brings like adventures, barking at squirrels and doggy ice cream.

She is really starting to come out of her shell now in her foster home and has decided that she needs constant attention and can be quite pushy when the other dogs also want to settle down with foster mum to watch TV. This is being worked on as she has clearly had no ground rules before and she is responding well.

Despite being tiny she can jump on the sofa and climb the stairs. Although she lived with other dogs she doesn’t cuddle up to them and prefers to sleep in her own bed. She doesn’t currently play with toys but this may change in the future as her confidence grows and she realises she’s a dog and not a princess.

She gets a little upset being left alone and will scratch the door and whine till foster mum is back.

Violet walks beautifully on a lead and has no problem with the few people she has met. She can get a little nervous of noises but this is improving the more, she is out and about. She can be a bit barky when she first sees another dog when out but again, this is down to her leading a sheltered life. Once foster mum has decided she can speak to the dog she is calmer and will sniff. Her new pawrents are going to have to advocate for her and make sure she is kept safe and has positive interactions with people and dogs when out.

Violet is not cat or small furry tested but has such a lovely nature that with  sensible gentle introductions we think she will be fine.

Violet could be homed with older dog savvy children who won’t treat her as a toy and will help with setting some boundaries. We recommend children 7 and up.

She currently sleeps with the other dogs in the kitchen and sleeps all night in her own bed. She doesn’t bark. Toilet training is a work in progress and getting her into a routine has been key to helping her understand the rules of the home. This will need to continue in her forever home.

Violet is not a good eater and appears to have been given lots of human food in the past and not used up any energy to be hungry. Foster mum is still working on this but it is improving.

Violet is very young and  has missed out on so many adventures. She is going to need time to build her confidence and learn to dog, getting her out of her princess mindset. Don’t get us wrong we all love a princess but there has to be a good mix of dog in there as well. She would like a home where she can catch up on all that she has missed going to bed at night tired and excited for the next day. She can be homed with other dogs or can be an only dog if owner home most of the time.

Sam D2023-62

  • Needs a resident dog
  • NO Cats
  • Older Children
  • Loving patient family who like to go walkies

Sam is an 18 month old Mini Labradoodle who says he doesn’t mind hoomans now. When I first arrived in my foster home I kept to myself but my foster family have been really patient with me. I kind of like them all now. I do bark when someone comes into the house but once I’ve checked them out, I am ok and settle down. My foster family refer to me as a goofball. I have really come out of my shell this week. I do like a cuddle so I am looking for a home who can give plenty of those.

There are times when I am a little noise sensitive and I do bark a little, my foster dad has noticed that it’s always in the evening, and it doesn’t last long.

When I’m on my walk I am not bothered by hoomans as most of them want to say hello because I am sooooo cute. I like to talk to the other dogs too. All my walks have been with a harness and on a lead and I am more than happy. Foster mum has tested my recall around the house and garden and I am a good listener but my new home will need to work on this outside of the home.

Cats I’ve not been tested but I did cross paths with a cat on one of my walks. My foster mum was thankful I was on a lead. So I don’t think I’d be good around cats they look too much fun to chase.

If you have children, I would prefer children who are a little older. I am ok around them it’s just that I am a little nervous with new people and I have been used to a quieter home (well at least I was before my foster home).

I sleep downstairs, my foster parents gave me a nice dog bed but I’m not sure about it and I slept on a blanket for a while, however my foster home has a comfy chair that I have grown to like and so that’s where they find me when they come down. I don’t like the stairs at all. I have been carried up but cling to the hoomans like a sloth does to a branch. If you want me to sleep on your bed, and I think I’d love that very much, you will have to build my confidence using the stairs.

I do all my business outside on my walk but I have had free reign of the garden. Though I do let you know if I need to go out if the door is shut.

I eat in a separate room from the resident dog but that’s more about them than me as they would eat my food as well as their own if they could.

I would like a slight quieter home than my foster home, they are lovely but oh my it’s busy with comings and goings. I would like a family where someone is home for part of the day at least. I can be left for a few hours but I like company. I would like my new family to be able to take me out as I do love to be out. I like to explore and sniff everything on my walks. Liquorice D2023-99

  • Can be an only dog if owners home most of the time
  • Can live with other dogs
  • No cats
  • Older children

Liquorice is a 7 year old Yorkie cross Jack Russel who has come into rescue through no fault of her own having recently lost her much loved mum. She is described by her foster mum as a dream foster. She is friendly and would love to be spoilt but as her mum was poorly for quite a while she has been left to her own devices and is now unsure of her place in the world. She just hangs back and takes herself off to a quiet corner watching.

Liquorice has lost her confidence and now needs to be the centre of someone’s world again. She will come up on the sofa and rest but if you get up she doesn’t stay there it’s as if she’s not quite sure where she belongs anymore. She is a little sad and lost at the moment.

She loves going out for a little walk and her eyes light up sniffing for squirrels and cats but she has no sense of direction and goes wherever she likes so this needs to be worked on in her forever home. She is very friendly and likes saying hello to people but can be a little wary at first. She is going to need her new parents to advocate for her and just warn people she takes a minute to warm up and give her space.

Liquorice cannot be homed with cats as she does not like them. She could be homed with children but older children who will give her time to settle and will know when she needs to step back and just watch.

Currently Liquorice doesn’t play with toys. She sleeps in the kitchen in her own bed and sleeps quietly all night.

Liquorice is completely house trained and has been a very good girl in her foster home.

Liquorice can be homed with or without another dog as long as owners are home most of the time. She needs to know that you are there for her and she is your number one priority. She’s not even being needy its just that she’s sad. She needs to brush up on her lead work but otherwise she’s a lovely girl.

Taco D2023-81

  • Needs another dog or dogs for confident one of a similar size preferably
  • Not cat tested
  • Older sensible teenage children
  • Patient loving owners

Taco is a 7 month old Old English Sheepdog described by his foster mum as a shy, nervous big baby. Where to start with this very gentle giant, Taco has not had the exposure to life a normal puppy should have had and as such is a very quiet worried boy. That said once he gets to know you, he loves following you around.

He likes to be around friends and is slowly gaining confidence from them so a multi dog household would also be perfect. He is mixing with dogs of all sizes and is very gentle with them all but would like a big palymate to follow. His true character is coming out when in the garden with the others. When they run for toys you can clearly see he wants to go too but any sound wind, trees, birds or traffic then he runs straight back to foster mum for reassurance.

Taco is not cat tested and would probably be terrified of them.

Taco is clean in the house as long as you accompany him to the garden. He’s too scared to go on his own and he needs you to hold his paw.

He likes to be around friends so a multi dog household would also be perfect. He is mixing with dogs of all sizes and is very gentle with them all.

Taco currently does not walk on a harness as he is too worried about the big wide world. He needs to bond with his fur family, practice in the garden and then he said he will attempt to go outside. This will come it will just take time and patience and will be so worth while to watch him flourish.

Taco once he know you and feels safe loves attention. He especially loves being groomed and this is a brilliant way for him to bond with his new family. When you start grooming, he loves nothing more than offering up his belly for rubs.

Taco isn’t food orientated and is slow to learn what treats are but if he sees a natural yogurt pot then you can see a light go on in his eyes and he gets a little excited. The boy loooooooves his yogurt which is sooooo good for him.

He travels well in the car and although nervous at the vets the vet nurses love him and he has tried to be a brave boy.

Taco isn’t playing with toys yet but this will come.

Taco needs a home with at least one other big dog but will also thrive in a pack of dogs. He needs lots of time and love to blossom. The world for him at the moment is a scry place and he will need his new pawrents to advocate for him. It is going to take him time to adjust but he will get there and we can’t wait to see him thrive in the right home.

Flip Flop D2023-78

  • Needs a resident dog
  • Older dog savvy children
  • Not cat tested
  • Loving an patient family.

Flip flop is a 3 year old poodle described by her foster mum as practically perfect in every way. She is a darling girl who loves humans and would like to be the first one on your lap every time. She will often take herself off during the day in her dog bed and is quite happy snoozing away cuddled up to the other dogs or on her own. She is not destructive in any way and is a placid happy girl.

She loves humans and will greet you with a waggy tail a jump and a sniff as soon as you arrive. She likes to get as much attention as she can but can be unsure to start especially if there are loud younger children.

Not tested with cats or small furries.

Very young loud children can make flip flop feel a bit unsure so gentle children about 6 upwards is the perfect age to show her they mean no harm just want gentle cuddles.

Flip flop has not yet played with any toys she is not Interested when a ball is thrown and her foster mum has not seen her play with any of the other dogs but with the right dog we think she could learn that dog play is fun.

Flip flop is fine wearing a harness and lead and can become excited to think she’s going out but once outside she becomes unsure of the world and will freeze. This is going to be a work in progress but I don’t think it will take her long.

Flip flop will sleep soundly all night on her foster mums bed as she loves a cuddle but she will also sleep in her dog bed on the floor with the other dogs.

Flip flop is 100% housetrained.

Flip flop is currently eating wet food with a little dry mixed in as she is not fond of dry food and will try to eat around it. She is a typical picky poodle when accepting dog treats too. She eats fantastic around the other dogs but can warn them if they try to put their face in her bowl whist she’s trying to eat.

Flip flop would fit many homes as she’s such a laid back girl who loves humans but young enough to also explore the outside world making adventures. She wouldn’t want a home that she wasn’t able to go on sofas and human beds as she adores snuggling. She would love the company of another dog due to the fact she’s not always happy to be left on her own and will sometimes let you know with a lovely singing voice. She does have a typical poodle voice and if she hears a noise or dog outside, she likes to let them know she’s there.

Cookie D2023-72

            *Can be an only dog

*Can live with another older dog

            * Older children

            * not bothered with cats

            *Quiet home

Cookie is a confident 11 year old chihuahua described by his foster mum as a distinguished little man who knows his own mind. He loves a cuddle and likes to put his bum on any lap that sits down so he can snuggle in and go to sleep while he has a fuss. Being of a certain age and knowing his own mind he likes to do things in his own time and when he is ready. He will not be rushed or told to do something he doesn’t want to.

Vet history to be discussed

He is better with older dog savvy children or just visiting children who wont pressure him.

Cookie doesn’t take any notice of my cats

Being an older gentleman he’s not really paid much attention to toys. But is quite inquisitive, and loves to watch the resident dog playing.

Cookie needs short walks and plods along lovely on a lead. When out he isn’t fazed by anything but can sometimes be a little timid.

Cookie has slept in a crate but was not impressed and sang the song of his people until he was released. He’s happiest around his humans. So now he sneaks into foster mums sons bedroom at night, and hides under his duvet till morning. He’s a typical Chihuahua who loves his bed and doesn’t appreciate being told to move or get up in the mornings so best to leave him be till he’s ready to tackle the day.

Fully house trained

All dogs eat separately in the foster home and he eats very well. He is currently not interested in treats.

Cookie need an older retired couple or individual as he’s definitely happier with humans. He could also live with an older dog of similar age just for company .

Sprocket D2023-65

            * To be adopted on a neutering and training agreement

            * Needs a young confident resident dog of a similar size

            * Older dog savvy children

            * Fine with dog savvy cats

            * Patient large breed knowledgeable home

Sprocket is an 7 month old big baby of an Old English Sheepdog. Currently he is a shy and scared little big boy who has already in his 7 months of life gone through a lot. He looks to the resident dogs and his foster dad for reassurance in his daily life. He is not going to bond straight away this is going to need to be built up in his own time. The right resident dog is going to play a BIG part in his happy forever after.

He has been good with people he knows in the home but will not choose to come to you until he can totally trust you. He has been enjoying playing with the other dogs and this has been helping him see that human interaction is good. He adores his resident dogs and follows them everywhere.

As a big scared puppy, he can be rehomed with older dog savvy children.

He pays no attention to the resident cat and acknowledges other dogs and gives a sniff but doesn’t interact

He is used to wearing a lead and will wear a harness but currently will not go for a walk outside of the garden. He is going to need to build his confidence in the home with his new family and fur siblings before venturing out into the big wide world. This is going to need to be done at his pace.

Sprocket currently sleeps where he wants be it on the settee, dog bed in kitchen or in humans bedroom but he doesn’t like being alone unless it’s in his safe place.

House training is a work in progress. He will toilet outside if you take him out and will pace around when he needs to go but he won’t come back in readily and it takes a while to get him in. Following the other dogs and being rewarded helps with this but there may be occasions where you need patience. When he is scared, he will toilet where he is. This is not his fault and will improve, he needs time and a loving family.

Sprocket doesn’t really eat treats but does like the occasional digestive biscuit. Sprocket needs a home with a young resident patient dog of a similar size who can show him the ropes. A family that has knowledge and experience of his breed and big dogs who can be patient and watch this big baby blossom into the puppy he should be. He is growing in confidence every day and makes his foster dad proud with how he’s changing but this is going to take time and patience.

To be adopted on a neutering and training agreement.

Shrimp D2022-68

  • Needs a resident dog
  • Fine with cats
  • Children 10 and over
  • Owners home most of the time

Shrimp is a 5 year old Mini Dachshund and described by her foster mum as a little shadow. she follows her everywhere and will wait by the garden gate for her if she goes out. She enjoys being stroked and cuddled by all her foster family, but foster mum is her favourite! Shrimp loves being curled up on your lap, she snuggles down and gives lots of those special nose boops and kisses.

She has met people at her foster family’s home and at foster Nanna’s home, and has been very interested in meeting them all! She will approach them, and after a good sniff will put her little paws up on their legs for a fuss! Foster mum has always been present, and Shrimp looks frequently to her for reassurance.
Shrimp hasn’t been walked outside the garden as not fully vaccinated.

She has just started to join in the zoomie chases with the resident dogs, and with shouting at the postman! She loves being in the garden and will happily lie on the grass chewing an antler for ages. She enjoys sniffing and exploring in and outside, and whoever is cooking has a willing taste tester by their side! Her little tail wags away when she’s having a fuss, or being spoken to, she’s an absolute sweetheart.

Shrimp will happily share space, and walk past her foster family’s dog savvy cat, paying him no attention at all.
Not small furry tested.

Shrimp could live with children over 10yrs, who would be able to understand her needs.

Shrimp loves to play with soft dog toys, especially a crinkly donkey! She will choose which one she wants and trot of to have a chew. She’s starting to join play with the resident dogs, running after a toy, and a bit of gentle rough play!

Shrimp will happily wear a collar, harness and lead. She walks beautifully on lead and has been practicing in the garden. She also travels well by car with a harness and dog seat belt.

She sleeps in In a soft dog bed at the side of foster parent’s bed.

Shrimp has had no accidents inside her foster house, she has taken herself out to toilet, but has not asked to be let out. She sleeps all night with no accidents.

Shrimp absolutely loves eating! She already knows the feeding routine at her foster home, and will come running into the kitchen for the group 11AM treat! She is learning to wait her turn with a gentle but firm ‘wait’ command and flat palm gesture, and is learning very quickly. She eats her meals separately from the resident dogs at present.

Shrimp needs a home with another dog and will thrive in a home with someone around most of the time. Routine and a quieter home would build on Shrimp’s growing confidence, she would be stressed by a very hectic, busy environment, and definitely needs a home where cuddles are always available!

Lilyanne D2023

  • Needs another dog for guidance
  • Not cat tested
  • Older dog savvy children
  • Patient parents who will gently encourage

Lilyanne is 5 year old mini poodle described by her foster mum as a special little girl who is slowly coming out of herself, she is very ladylike and aloof. She is enjoying a fuss and cuddles and will ask for attention and a place on the sofa next to you. She is a lovely girl with a nice temperament once she gets over her fears. She has started barking at my neighbour when he visits which is new, but settles after a while.

No known health issues.

She can get really overwhelmed by the other dogs in her foster home at times and will take herself off to find a quiet spot till everyone calms back down. When foster mum comes downstairs in the morning she is with the others and excited to see her.

Lilyanne is not cat or small furry tested but due to her nature and careful introductions we would think she is fine.

Lilyanne could live with sensible older dog savvy children.

She doesn’t currently play with toys or the other dogs in her foster home.

Harness and lead training is a work in progress. She is happy to have the harness on and is getting used to the pressure of a lead. She is practicing in the garden and is improving daily.

She currently sleeps with the other dogs in the kitchen but likes to sleep on a chair.

Toilet training is also a work in progress. She is mostly fine if she has a routine and is encouraged to go out often. She doesn’t like the rain so needs to be watched on wet days as she’s worried about going curly.

She eats better away from others and is nervous about taking treats

Lilyanne needs a quiet home where she can choose to interact when she wants to. She needs another dog to watch and learn from but nothing too boisterous. She doesn’t mind them cuddling up to her but doesn’t currently instigate any contact. She is going to need time to decompress as she is still wary of new things and watches from afar. She is the type of dog that needs lots of coaxing and a soft voice.

Gizmo D2023-63

  • Needs another patient
  • No cats
  • Older teenage children
  • Active family to wear him out and keep up his training

Gizmo is a playful and energetic 16 month old Yorkshire Terrier who has had an upsetting time recently. He hasn’t been given any boundaries and has clearly been spoilt and adored by a previous owner. Foster mum describes him as a live wire who is nosy, cheeky and has an opinion on a variety of things. All this said, he is a very loving and friendly little chap, who is pleased to meet new people.

No known health issues.

Gizmo likes to “mouth” your hands and this play can progress if not managed appropriately. Since being in foster, we have not allowed mouthing of hands and new owners need to keep up the training. He came with toys but is more people orientated. The toys have been used as a distraction away from hands. He hasn’t been given direction as a puppy and likes to try and rule the roost. He has started training to associate being asked to do things as a positive and this needs to be kept up. As a typical Yorkie he can try to nip if handled or surprised.

Gizmo eats like a carthorse and can even be food frantic pushing other dogs off their food. He needs to be fed separately and using a slow feeder. He is not at all the usual fussy Yorkie.

He has not met cats or small furries but due to his nature we would not recommend he is homed with any.

Gizmo could be housed with older teenage children who will keep up his education to teach him manners.

Gizmo loves his walks and walks nicely on a lead. He can be a bit wary of traffic and likes to get a good look at things before he makes his mind up. This is improving and he is starting to love his little adventures.

He currently sleeps downstairs but would rather be on the bed. However, his 2am ruff n tumble sessions mean he has been banished. He does not like a crate or the pen and can become fearful but is learning this is a safe space and he gets rewarded for being good.

House training is a work in progress and there have been a few accidents but a routine and lots of positive reinforcement means he is getting there.

Gizmo is very fast, non-stop, and can jump incredibly high! He needs an active family to wear him out and keep that buzzing at a manageable level. He may even enjoy Agility or Hoopers. He is certainly not a retirement dog and deserves lots of adventures. He would benefit from another patient dog to play with, but could be an only dog with owners home most of the time. Needs new owner committed to his ongoing training
