Duke

REF: D2021-09

RESIDENT DOG OF A SIMILAR SIZE IS A MUST

Calm children 12 and over

Owners home most of the time

Neutered 1st and 2nd jab

Duke is a 3 year old Saluki x Collie and is a real gentleman, he loves nothing more than company both human and canine. He is one of the most gentle and loyal dogs I have had the pleasure of meeting and caring for. He is currently living with 8 other dogs both male and female with no issues.

He is starting to play fetch with a ball and after a play or walk loves nothing more than a good snuggle up on the sofa or in a soft cosy bed. He is a very intelligent dog and is easy to train using treats as rewards. He isn’t destructive but will steal food off worktops etc if left alone.

He is very happy to be handled, brushed, bathed, have his nails clipped and ears cleaned. He goes to the dog grooming salon that foster mum owns and is happy to meet and accept all dogs into the salon with a waggy tail. He is much happier being left with another dog for short periods but does suffer from anxiety if left on his own.

Duke hasn’t been around children so I feel that he would only be suitable for a home with either none or older children. He hasn’t been cat tested but has met chickens, sheep and a rabbit with no issues. He hates being left on his own and is better left with the company of another dog for a few hours.

Duke is an absolute treasure to care for. He has the occasional accident in the house but this is more from anxiety when left as he tends to panic. He loves nothing more than to curl up either in a soft cosy bed or by your side on the sofa. He will enter a crate on his own terms but does not like being shut in.

He loves his food and treats but will also steal any food left on worktops or anywhere accessible to him. He has no food or toy aggression and is actually fed in the same room as two other dogs and has learnt to eat his own dinner and leave the other dogs alone until they have finished their meals. I can take anything away from him with no issues including his dinner or toys.

Duke is a dream to walk, he just loves to be out and about with you. He has been let off the lead in a secure field but would benefit from more recall training. He travels very well and just curls up for a snooze. He is an angel at the vets with no issues whatsoever.

Duke deserves a loving home preferably with someone at home most of the day and maybe another dog where he isn’t left on his own for too long. He is quite a sensitive soul and will respond well to a gentle and kind voice. He is a wonderful dog and will make someone the perfect loyal companion. He has no aggressive tendencies and when bonded will stick to you like glue.

Daffy

REF D2021-21

Resident dog of a similar size

Children 8 and over

Active home

Daffy is a fun, loving and energetic 5 year old Poodle cross girl who loves nothing more than to play with her fellow canines and follow her humans around the house. She looks forwards to walks and greets her humans enthusiastically when they have been out. She is a gentle girl who loves to be cuddled and sleeps well throughout the night. Daffy is housetrained and not destructive at all.

Daffy is good with children and would suit a home with sensible children age 8 and upwards. Daffy travels well in the car with a dog seat belt to secure her on the back seat. Daffy cannot live with cats and probably not other small furries.

Daffy loves to cuddle up with the other dogs in the house and to play in the garden. As an ex-breeding dog, Daffy is inexperienced with walking on a lead however is doing very well and gets excited for walks. She wants to say hello and run to greet every dog she sees on walks so her adopters will need to work with her on this.

Daffy is very well behaved at home and is housetrained. She sleeps on foster Mums bed and likes to snuggle up close. She does not use a crate and occasionally plays with soft toys. She eats a mix of wet and dry food and though not aggressive she likes to investigate the other dogs food in case they have something nicer than her. Daffy has been left for a few hours with the other dogs for company.

Daffy needs a home with owners who are prepared to take her on 2 good walks a day in the morning and evening as like all spaniels she is full of energy. Daffy needs the company of at least one other young playful dog and would be okay in a home with sensible children age 8 and above. Daffy is a little shy at first but once she gets to know you, will be a very loving and loyal friend.

Bluebelle

D2021-27

ACTIVE HOME

CHILDREN 10 AND OVER

RESIDENT DOG

SUIT AGILITY, FLYBALL OR SEARCH AND RESCUE FAMILY

Bluebelle is an 11 month old Border Collie with a sweet nature who loves lots of fuss and cuddles, she’s very busy, playing with the other foster dogs in the house and all her toys. She loves the company of her foster mum and sometimes thinks she’s a lapdog. She gets excited at the prospect of a walk and meeting up with her doggy friends and after a hard day playing she likes nothing better than to curl up on the sofa to watch her favourite animal programme on TV!

Bluebelle loves people but can be a little enthusiastic when she first meets them, planting a big sloppy wet kiss on your face. Out and about Bluebelle pulls on the lead and although this is getting better it is definitely something that needs further work. Off lead she is much better and has a good recall 99% of the time, she does get distracted by other dogs, squirrels and birds but soon comes back when called. In the van she seems to travel well and hasn’t been sick on a journey of up to an hour, when foster mum first picked her up she had to be physically put into the crate in the van, but now happily hops in on her own. She is fine at the vets, enjoying all the attention she gets.

She’s not keen on water and hates a bath, but likes a brush although after a while she thinks this is a good game. In her previous home she was with a 10 year old child who she was fine with, but because she is still a little boisterous I’d say no younger than 10

Bluebelle loves the company of other dogs and likes to play with others in the home, she’s is a real “meeter and greeter” when on a walk and will go up to other dogs to instigate play, but will stop in her tracks if you call her back most of the time. I would say this little girl would do much better in a home with at least one other dog.

Bluebelle used to live with two cats but always tried to play with them which they weren’t keen on.

In the home, Bluebelle is house trained and will go to the back door if she wants to go out, but she doesn’t bark so you need to watch her. She sleeps with her foster mum and the other dogs on the bed, but will go into a crate if being left for a short while. She will rip the odd loo roll centre and does like to chew things, but will stop when told. She has been destructive in her previous home but would put this down to not enough exercise and boredom as since she has been with foster mum she’s found her “off switch”. She loves toys, particularly a ball or tuggy toy and has eaten very well, she tends to get excited when preparing food, jumping up at the counter and sometimes grumbling at the other dogs, a firm “NO” tends to stop this and she sits down. She will sit and wait for her meals and only eat when you say OK and she is last in the pecking order to be fed. As she has a history of being destructive, I would say she should not be left any longer than 2.5 hours and only after being walked.

Bluebelle is high energy & very intelligent, so needs to be active. She would be most suited to an Agility, Flyball, Search & Rescue or Competitive Obedience home, she’s not noise sensitive, doesn’t seem fazed by traffic and doesn’t herd like a lot of Collies. Collies are not for the faint hearted but she’s a cracking little dog with lots of potential and will do very well in experienced hands. She needs someone who is home most of the time and the company of at least one other dog, she is absolutely smashing and will make a very loyal and loving companion. She’s going to be hard to part with!

Theo

Older cat savvy children

As an only cat

Cat savvy dogs

Theo is a 7 year old male with lustrous long black and white hair and eyes lined in the dark style of Adam Ant.

Lets be frank, Theo loves to lounge and look good. He also likes to eat, sleep and generally pose. He doesn’t feel the need for the company of other cats (they may cramp his style) and humans are obviously there to attend to his needs.

Theo is a self contained poser. He will languidly lounge on the table, windowsill or bed. Despite his lustrous locks he does not like to be brushed. He will tolerate around 3 strokes of a brush before he is fed up. Luckily he does groom and keeps himself in tip top condition.

Theo doesn’t like to play or be bothered he just likes to be adored from a distance. He is the most beautiful and purrrrrfect cat ornament

Bella

NEEDS TO BE AN INDOOR CAT

Children 10 and over

ONLY CAT

No dogs

We would like to introduce you to Bella

Bella is two years old and ready for her forever home! She loves to spend her time napping in the softest beds, watching the pesky birds out of the window, sunbathing on a nice day and playing with laser pointers, balls of foil, plant leaves, and anything else she can get her paws on! Bella is your future best friend and will follow you anywhere, she will spend the days by your side, the evenings on your lap and the nights curled up at the foot of your bed. She is the perfect cat for cat lovers.

Her purrfect family would be home most of the day, kind and patient, cat lovers who want an extremely loving lap cat to be part of their family for her whole life! Bella has sensitive skin, her forever home must be clean to reduce the risk of her catching fleas or anything that can irritate her skin at all. Bella doesn’t like too much noise and would bloom most in a home with children no younger than 10 years old who have had cats previously. She needs to be an only cat but will not get along with a dog.

Bella is an inside only cat, she has no desire to go out and is happy in the warmth and safety of her home. She is spayed, wormed and flea treated with up to date vaccinations. If you are adopting Bella then stock up on fluffy blankets, she will love you forever!

Amy

Reference D2021-22

Children 10 and over

Needs a calm resident dog

Owners home most of the time

Amy is a 2 year old Hunterway who is very shut down, scared and nervous but behind that is a beautiful, gentle girl. She is gradually learning a whole new routine of living in a house and is getting braver every day. She loves having a cosy bed or a comfy chair to sleep on and loves having a bowl of food all of her own. She loves to play in the garden with the other dogs and is starting to wag her tail more and more with each passing day. With consistent, gentle encouragement and a lot of patience, Amy will be a wonderful, happy pet.

Amy gets on well with other dogs in her foster home, but prefers to be on her own. She has tried to play with one of the other dogs and runs around the garden with them. She would like the company of one other confident dog. Amy is not cat or small furries tested.

Amy is not completely housetrained as she is too scared to ask to go out but will always go and toilet in the garden when the door is open. Amy prefers to stay in an open crate and uses it as her safe place. She likes to be in the same room as her human and will curl up on a chair in the living room in the evening. Amy has shown no signs of destruction or aggression. She if very fearful but wags her tail and loves mealtimes. She is not protective of her food but does prefers to eat away from the other dogs. Amy has hardly been left, but does whines when she is left. An hour is the most she has ever been left. She is not interested in playing with humans, other dogs or toys yet. She will take a treat from a hand and is very gentle.

Amy will need a lot of kindness, confidence and patience to teach her to feel safe on a lead. She currently just freezes and has to be carried. She has only been out to go to the vet and her new owner will need to continue with lead training. She is quiet in the car, mainly due to fear.

Amy would benefit from a calm home where someone is home most of the time. She will need calm and consistent reassurance and a lot of patience to help her overcome her fears. She would like to have a calm and confident dog to help her learn home is a safe place and she needs a garden that is secure and big enough for her to run around in and explore.

Sheila  REF:D2021-28

 Neutering agreement

Dog savvy children 10 and over

Active family

Calm resident dog

Sheila the Lurcher is a stunning 15 week old bundle of fun! She is super friendly, energetic and a big gangly goofball!! She loves everyone and everything! She is inquisitive and intelligent and has already picked up the simple commands of sit and paw. She’s interested in snuffle and puzzle toys which help to keep her calm and busy.

Sheila is generally a calm, quiet dog but becomes very vocal when she is bored and wants to play. She has moments of puppy madness when all she wants to do is zoomies around the garden and play fetch and tug of war! She will start to mouth and bite but once distracted with a chew toy or soft toy it stops. As well as wanting to play, Sheila is also a cuddle bunny and likes nothing more than snuggling next to you and sometimes on top of you on the sofa! Saying this sometimes she likes to take herself off to find a spot to relax

Sheila greets everyone like her long lost friend but does have the tendency to have an excited wee! Hopefully this is something she will grow out of. She loves all attention whether it’s a pet on the head, a tummy tickle or a full on cuddle!

Sheila loves children and has a lovely bond with my 12 year old daughter. However, she is very bouncy and excitable and may knock a small child over in her enthusiasm so a home with older dog savvy children is required.

Sheila is very sociable and is friendly when meeting other dogs. She is friendly with the other dog in my house, even when it’s not reciprocated!  Sheila would like the company of another, older calmer dog to show her the ropes and keep her entertained.

We wouldn’t recommend homing Sheila with cats or small furries

Sheila is house trained and will sit or paw at the door when wanting to go out. She is crate trained and goes to bed with little fuss and sleeps all night. She is not destructive but enjoys ragging her soft toy duck and chewing on toys but hasn’t destroyed them (yet!) but she’s a bit of a sneak and will try pinching a pen or make up brush for example to have a little chew on! However, she will usually swap for a higher value toy and if not, will let you take it out of her mouth without any aggression.

She eats kibble twice a day, some of which I keep back to put in her snuffle blanket or puzzle toy and she enjoys a treat or two! She hasn’t been in foster long so hasn’t been left but she does cry when one of us goes out or upstairs without her.

Sheila walks pretty well on a lead, she sometimes tries chewing the lead if she sees it but can usually be distracted. She will love to be let off lead so she will need recall training.

Sheila deserves an active, loving home with owners who are prepared to continue with her training and will take time to stimulate and play with her. She is still a puppy so does try to bite when excited and can be vocal to get attention so needs consistency to learn manners and acceptable behaviour. Dog savvy children 10 and over and a sensible resident dog who will show her the ropes but will also play with her. Whoever has her will be lucky to have the sweetest, friendliest, goofiest little pup.

Puss Puss

Puss Puss despite being only 5 years old is a super quiet boy who just loves to cuddle and sleep. He’s a big sleeper and likes on average about 23 hours a day and when he’s not sleeping he likes to be on your lap or close to you almost like a cat radiator. As yet he hasn’t shown much interest in going outside and is enjoying his home comforts. He’s not been dog or other cat tested but sensible gradual introductions may be possible. He is not going to like a noisy household so young kids and a busy home is not going to suit him.

Rik

Only dog or with a resident dog

Children 12 and over

Active home with scent hound experience.

Our boy Rik is a beagle cross basset and is only 12 weeks old and will come with a neutering agreement. He’s doing so well in his foster home we think he deserves to be in the PERFECT forever home as soon as possible.

As a baby Rik is super playful and has loads of energy. He is just enjoying puppy life, being clumsy, funny, goofy and when he’s run out of energy having a power nap before it starts again. During his brief downtimes he likes to snuggle on the sofa or just be close to his human.

Rik’s house training is currently a work in progress but this is standard with all fur babies and is coming along nicely. He has not been cat tested and as he’s a scent hound this may not be a good idea.

Rik will need an active home with owners who are home most of the time and can introduce him to the big wide world. He could be an only dog or live with a resident dog of similar energy levels. Due to his energy levels we suggest he could live with children 10 and over. Like any annoying youngster Rik would not be suitable to live with an older dog as they would probably pack their bags and leave home after a few hours with this little bundle of energy.

Blue

Resident active dog

Children 10 and over

Active family

Blue is a 3 year old terrier cross who is playful with a big heart. Since coming into foster he has really come out of his shell. He loves to cuddle up, albeit after flopping all over you. He’s very obedient considering his background and it will not take a lot of work to train him. He will be a wonderful addition to any home, he’s lovable and totally irresistible.

He has no known health issues and now that he’s on a proper food regime, with plenty of fluids, his condition is 100% better than when he arrived.

Blue adores people and loves to be around his foster family. He loves to be stroked and is no problem to groom as long as you don’t leave his brush unattended as he will steal it. He loves children and has no problem with them at all as long as they are respectful. Our grandchildren are between 9 and 16 and he happily sits with them while they fuss him.

He has no problem with our dogs, and will happily play with them. In fact, Elsa, a foster we adopted plays tug-o-war with him and they share toys. She has never played with a larger dog since we’ve had her, so is obviously a good judge of character.

He has not been tested with cats or small animals

Blue is pretty much housetrained, there has been the odd accident but generally no issues. He will go all night without a problem. He currently sleeps in a bed in the kitchen with the other dogs and is quite content. He loves playing with toys and is usually carrying one around. He does chew them but he’s not destructive or toy/food aggressive. He has been left for short periods with the other dogs in the kitchen with no issues.

Blue travels well in the car but is a little apprehensive getting in the car. He has had no problem visiting the vet.

Blue would like to live in a family environment with another dog for company. He needs regular exercise so an active family is a must. He is desperate to get out in the big wide world. He will thrive with exercise and I think his recall training will be easy for him.

Sean

Playful resident dog

Sensible children 10 and over

Patient owners who re home most of the time

Can live with dog savvy cats

Sean the Schnauzer is a 5 year old ex breeding dog and has not been used to living in a home until the last few weeks with his foster family. He is very shy and when he first came into foster would not move from his crate except to be carried outside for toileting. After a few weeks in his foster home Sean has started to come out of his shell and will move between sofas and approach his foster family for tickles under the chin.

Sean is a wonderful gentle boy and has shown no signs of aggression, he deserves a caring home with someone who will shower him with the attention he has missed in his short life.

Sean is shy around new humans but once he learns to trust he loves to be smoothed. He is getting used to being bathed but will flatten himself on the bottom of the bath until it is over. He likes to be groomed gently.

Sean likes the children in the house, he particularly likes foster Mums 10 year old son and will stand in front of him patiently waiting for attention. He can live with gentle, dog savvy, sensible children 10’years and upwards.

Sean had not been on a walk yet as he is in the process of being harness and lead trained. Foster Mum takes him out to the front garden with the harness and lead on and though he is very interested in the sights and sounds of cars and people he doesn’t understand about walking on the lead and will sit and dig his heels in rather than walk. It may take some time for Sean to learn to walk on the lead, he will need a very patient and loving home to work with him and not expect miracles all at once.

It is important that his new home has a big and secure garden as Sean loves to run around exploring, he really comes out of himself in the garden and shows us a glimpse of the dog he is meant to be.

Sean lives with 3 cats and they are all very comfortable around each other.

Sean is housetrained but has to be carried outside at regular intervals as he doesn’t yet have the confidence to go outside alone. He will bark and walk in circles when he needs to toilet.

Sean is not destructive and does not play with toys. He eats two good meals a day of a mix of wet and dry food, loves a treat of white fish, salmon or chicken a few times a week. Sean had 33 teeth out when he came into rescue and though he is eating dry kibble now he needs plenty of wet food and fresh water.

Sean has been fine left with his foster brother and sister for a couple of hours.

Sean sleeps with his foster brother and sister upstairs but sometimes he likes to chill downstairs and come up later. So owners who will allow him both would be great. He can come upstairs anytime but he does not have the confidence yet to explore the house, this will come in time.

Sean will need full security when learning to walk on the lead, it is imperative that his new owner uses a minimum of 2 leads, a well fitting harness and collar to ensure he does not get scared and escape:

Sean needs a quiet home with someone home most of the day. He must live with at least one other resident dog, preferably a young playful dog who will play with him in the garden and show him how to walk on a lead. Sean can live with sensible, dog savvy, gentle children over 10.

Honor

Can be an only dog but would like friends outside of the home

Owners around most of the time to shower her with love and affection

Enjoys her walks

Children 10 and over

Honor the Hunterway is around 18 months old and is a stunningly beautiful girl with the most gorgeous character. As her foster mum I would keep her if I could but I know she needs a forever family of her own who will care for her as much as I do.

Honor can be nervous when she first meets new people or is in a new situation, but just displays submission and quickly over comes her fears. She trusts very quickly and just loves a cuddle.

She’s seen children at the vets (from a distance) and quietly observes. If she is to be with children, 10 and over would probably be best.

She is great with other dogs but doesn’t need another dog in the home just lots of friends outside. When she needs a break, she will often take herself off to find a quiet corner to re-charge. Before she came into rescue she was living in a large pack and we think she found this very stressful, she may well have been attacked over food and felt on edge a lot. She likes to eat her food away from any other dogs and in a quiet space. She will not eat if there is another dog in the room. She would be happy to live with just humans who can adore and shower her with love and attention.

She is currently in foster with a crazy chicken lady and has shown no interest in these. She has however not been cat tested.

She is an absolute pleasure in the home showing no signs of being destructive, and has shown no signs of any separation anxiety. However, we wouldn’t like her to be left for long periods on her own. She currently sleeps down stairs with the other dogs with no issues. She has accepted using a crate but this is in the adventure wagon (dog van) with no problems. She currently shows no interest in toys, and it’s unclear if she has ever seen any which is so sad.

Honor nervously dribbles when traveling, but isn’t vocal and doesn’t pace. She is nervous at the Vets but trusts quickly and doesn’t show aggression. Walking on a lead is new to her, she definitely prefers a harness to a lead and collar and her education in this area will be ongoing.

Honor needs a home where she is walked regularly, getting to see other dogs for socialisation. She doesn’t necessarily need to live with another dog and if she does, she needs to be fed separately. She would like to switch off relax and not compete in a pack as this is how she has previously lived. She would like her humans to be around for most of the day. Honor is special and is such a sensitive soul that needs lots of loving and time to decompress.

Coco

Resident dog preferably female

Dog savvy children 12 and over

Loves his walks

Coco is a 3 year old little puggle who is very active and enjoys the company of people and other dogs that live in the home. He enjoys a cuddle and loves to place his face between your hands looking up in a way that melts your heart. He’s a clever boy and since being in foster he has learnt to sit and give paw. He will sneeze in the most adorable way instead of barking for attention.

Coco is a little shy around strangers but has settled well with his foster mum, he will bark when someone comes into the home, but once they have shown him attention he stops and becomes very affectionate even seeking out attention. He Loves to go for walks but will bark at other dogs and people. This is a work in progress and he is very quick to learn and with consistency he will understand. Coco hasn’t been off lead due to working on his recall but will follow the other dogs. He has been in a few different homes in his short life so needs a new start where his owners will be consistent in his training.

Coco barks at other dogs when out, but being the clever boy that he is, he will soon learn not to with positive reinforcement. He has some separation anxiety when he first arrived in foster but this is being worked on and the time left being built up gradually.

Coco’s house training is a work in progress but is getting better every day. He sleeps in a soft dog bed by the side of his foster mums’ bed and settles well. He so wants to please his human and in the morning he taps you gentle with his paw and if you lift the quilt he will jump up and snuggle in to bed. He is not crate trained.

Coco is a very active boy and is learning to play which is sad as he is 3 and should have had so much play time by now. In the short time he has been in foster he has learned to run with the others and now had a good zoomie. He hasn’t shown any interest in toys yet but is starting to eye up a ball. We are confident given time and the right home he will flourish and be the dog he was always meant to be.

Coco is a work in progress but is so clever that with time and patience he will be the perfect little companion He eats well and will sits for treats and is gentle in taking them from your hand, He isn’t aggressive over food or toys.

Coco is an active boy with lots of love to give. He needs time and patience to settle in a new home with owners who will give him the time he needs. He is very clever and responds to positive reward so will learn quickly. Coco would do well with teenage children and would like to live with another dog, preferably female for company and to help with training. This sweet little boy has responded so quickly to love and attention and will do well in the right home

Oleg

Quiet home

Only Cat or with other quiet cats

Can live with a quiet dog

Oleg our little snow leopard is a stunning older chap (Vets think around 13) who was found down on his luck and unwell in a garden. After a spell in the vets, he has continued his rehabilitation in foster where he has blossomed. He is shy, polite and very affectionate. He LOVES food and has a very healthy appetite and has discovered the joys of a cat “wands” and plays like a cat of much younger years. He would like a quieter retirement home where he can pursue his bird watching hobbies in warmth and security. Oleg would be okay as an only cat or with another older calm cat. He is in foster with dogs but they would need to be quiet and it will take him time to get used to them.

Mutley

Owners home for most of the time

Calm resident dog

Calm children 10 and over

Mutley is a very friendly 5½ year old Bichon boy who is great with both humans and the resident dogs. He is best described as a 5½ year old puppy, who needs a gentle but consistent hand in his teaching.

He loves his walks and is often first in the queue to be out the door. He walks well on the lead and needs at least 2 walks per day in order to use up his excess energy. Mutley has no recall and therefore needs to be attached to a lead/long line whenever he is out in an open space. This is something that will need to be worked. He will bark when seeing another dog and we have discovered that this is to say hello only – he is quiet upon meeting and no aggression shown.

His toileting and manners are a work in progress and he relies on a resident dog to show him the ropes. Toilet training is ongoing and he will need to be taken to the garden often and be given positive encouragement when he does good.

Mutley is an opportunist, so ensuing there is nothing he can harm himself with is a must. He will whenever able, help himself to anything from plates or bins. He will stop when told and will release without any confrontation. The crate is currently being used for eating meals/long lasting treats and for short resting periods but he is not happy to be left in there for extended periods and will bark/cry.

Mutley loves his fosterers and adores the closeness during awake and sleeping times. He will need a home prepared to continue this. Mutley sleeps all night once settled on the bed with foster dad. He has some issues with having paws and front legs touched but this is being worked on. He is happy to be gently brushed/combed, bathed and dried.

Mutley gets on well with the resident dogs and will lay, play and walk with them with no issues. He loves a goody zoomies around the house and likes to throw all the pillows off the sofa till he can find a comfy spot. We believe Mutley would be better homed with a calm resident dog, to continue his learning and for company as he does suffer from some separation anxiety. He is not destructive in the home and will gently chew toys, enjoys antlers & squeaky toys.

Mutley needs a home where residents will be home a lot and be able to spend quality time with him. Dog savvy children 10 and over would be okay but he can become scared by noisy children. He needs a calm resident dog of a similar size who can help him with the rules of the house and gain his confidence. He is adorable and will continue to flourish in the right environment.

Molly

Active home that can work on a non-existent recall

Can be an only dog or resident dog of a similar size

Children 8 and over

Molly is a 3 year old spaniel cross collie who is an absolute sweetheart of a dog. She loves to cuddle and is obedient. She is toilet trained and just craves attention from her human. She is great with the resident dogs and is good meeting other dogs in and out of the house. Molly sleeps in the kitchen on her own without a peep all night. Her foster mum says good night and she just settles down in her bed.

Molly loves to carry a soft toy, a sock, a slipper even a dry cloth that has fallen out of the washing basket. She is not destructive just enjoys carrying things around. She even takes these things outside for a wee with her and sometimes forgets to bring them back in. She will fetch anything she has dropped when asked.

Molly enjoys her food now that one has been found that suits her, she is eating sensitive grain free kibble and thriving. There is no food aggression with the other dogs.

Molly loves everyone and will let you touch her anywhere I’ve checked her ears and teeth successfully and she gives paw so you can check her feet.

Molly can be a little nervous when very small people are running around playing but has been fine with older dog savvy children so a home with children over 8 would suit our Molly as she learns to adjust in her new world.

Molly loves her walks but does not pull on a short lead. She loves all other dogs and gets a little excited meeting outside but is fine as long as they are on lead and supervised to ensure the other dog is OK with her. Molly has no recall so has not been off lead and we have been told that she will just run if she gets distracted or wants to investigate so recall training will have to be a priority.

Not tested with cats or small furries

Molly is the perfect house guest and takes her turn for treats and cuddles. She loves her toys and will play tug with the other foster dogs but won’t let them win. She is not crate trained and has been left for short periods with the other dogs and has been fine

Molly needs an active home with or without another dog. She was an only dog previously and was fine. She loves being out on her walks but once she comes home, she likes to get a soft toy and settles down contentedly She is a very easy going girl as long as she has cuddles, food, walks and a comfy bed she is happy.

Charlie

Calm but confident resident dog

Owners home most of the time

Children 12 and over

Charlie is an 8 year old Bichon cross Chi with no known health issues. He is a little grumbly when unsure (who isn’t) but with gentle and consistent reassurance he soon realised he didn’t need to be so vocal and settles easily. He enjoys routine and this has helped him feel more secure and settled.

Charlie eats two small meals a day and really enjoys his food. He’s also a little partial to treats. He has not been cat or small furry tested. Charlie is great about the house and is mostly clean and only marks on an odd occasion. He knows to indicate when he needs to go outside.

Charlie can be protective of his humans and can be cautious when others humans enter the house, however after a period of adjustment he allows some to pet him easily. He is more comfortable with men but once trust is gained he’s fine with the ladies too!. His forever family need to be aware of this and continue to work on it in his forever home. He needs to be carefully introduced to children.

Charlie sleeps upstairs with his Foster humans and is quietly enjoying this!. Initially around the house Charlie was territorial and voiced his displeasure it is therefore important that he doesn’t get ‘stuck in a rut’ and his routine is altered slightly from time to time.

Charlie has been a little overwhelmed by his foster mums’ boisterous trio of terriers however he’s beginning to feel much more relaxed around them. He has taken a while to understand how being part of a pack works but is showing signs of relaxing taking his queues from the main dog in the home. Charlie is not destructive and so far, hasn’t shown inclination towards playing with toys. He is starting to play with his fellow pooches! Hand play is not recommended for Charlie as he confuses this for the need to protect his patch!

Charlie looks forward to his walks and is quite confident on the lead but needs further training to help him become the dog he was always meant to be. He can be quite erratic and needs to be walked on a harness as he pulls. He’s following the main dog in his foster home and learning to walk more steadily on the lead.

Charlie needs a calm home with experienced and firm humans who are at home most of the time. He would benefit from a confident but calm resident dog to help him learn the ropes. This will reassure Charlie that’s its OK to share his home and human. Although he is tiny, he loves to run on grass so a garden is essential. Around the house Charlie is fairly quiet although he does like to shout at the postie! Charlie also loves a lap to cuddle up on! Charlie has a look which will melt the heart of everyone he meets – and just the cutest sneeze ever!!!

Polo has a tiny skin tag on the side of his nose which the vet has seen and advised that no treatment is needed. Polo is on grain free kibble that he likes to graze on throughout the day. He does not like wet food that he was on didn’t suit his tummy.

Poppy

Approx 1 year old

Would love to live with another cat

Not dog tested

Hello everyone my name is Poppy I’m about 18mnths old and very sassy. Last week I was taken to see a scary person by my foster dad. I had a long snooze and woke up with fur missing on my side and string to play with and they gave me a chip to but I couldn’t eat. It I’ve been told to tell you all that I’m very naughty and very clever but I only like cuddles when it suits me. I love to get other cats in trouble and like to play and climb loads. I would like a forever home with another cat so we can play. When I’m not playing or snoozing I like to eat wet and dry food together and absolutely love treats. I’m okay with small people as long as they will leave me alone when I have had enough of being adored.

BOB

3 Years old

Good with sensible children

Bob is approximately 3 years old and is a very loving boy who just can’t get enough fusses. Bob loves company and curling up next to his humans, where he can get plenty of strokes and head bumps. As he’s still young, Bob loves to play and have a run around, doing a bit of purr-kour. He enjoys exploring new places and will be fine to go outside once settled in his forever home. Bob loves his food and will sing his new humans plenty of songs whenever he sees them. This boy is all muscle but an absolute softy at heart (and his fur is just as soft). We love every single bunny that comes into us, but every so often one comes along that seems extra special…. Llew is one of those bunnies.

Llew came in via a RSPCA rescue. He had been living with his four brothers – none of them neutered or vaccinated. He was in very poor state when he first came in – definitely in the worse condition of the group, outwardly at least with bites and scars all over him. Unsurprisingly he was extremely timid and nervous. He also had a severe case of EC and needed treatment for this. We were scared he wouldn’t make it through with the health issues he had, but this brave determined little chap made a miraculous recovery and is now fully fit and healthy.

Despite all he has been through and the miserable life he had before, he has surprised us all by trusting humans again, even enjoying attention… particularly if there’s treats on offer! He is enjoying life and ready to find a bunny friend and perfect forever home.

He is a little nervous of other rabbits and this manifests as him wanting to be dominant. Foster Mum has muttered about small man syndrome but we couldn’t possibly comment!! Because of this, we think the best match for him would be an easy-going (dare we say slightly timid) female who would be happy to put up with his assertive ways.

Coming in from a rescue situation, we can’t be sure of his exact age but as a rough guess we put him around 5 or 6. He is neutered and is up to date with his vaccinations.

Everyone who meets Llew falls in love with him! He has been through so much but is a real little warrior and such a lovely, friendly boy. We are determined to find him the perfect lady-bun friend in the forever home he deserves.

Needs a resident dog

Children 7 and over who will understand about a nervous dog

Owners home most of the time but also loves walks.

Bluebelle is only a baby at 20 months old but is such a character. She can be shy and scared initially but has settled into her foster home really well and is gaining in confidence every day. She does not like loud noises or sudden movements (do any of us?). She loves children and currently lives in a home with older dog savvy children who like to cuddle and play with her and she is fine with that. There have been no issues with the children – who are known to be enthusiastic – in fact she loves the attention!

Bluebelle can be a little territorial, if she is on the sofa first and her foster brother or sister try to jump up, she tries to tell them off. However, if she is placed down on the floor and told to wait until the dogs of the house have taken their spot, she is fine and settles quickly. She is getting to know her boundaries.

Bluebelle is very affectionate and attentive and will follow you around the house and snuggle up on the sofa with you.
She is amazing on walks and despite being little loves being out and about. She is currently walked with a harness and lead to keep her safe and there are no issues with this. She is nervous when passing other dogs she does not know on a walk and can have a little bark, but walks lovely with her foster brother and sister.

She is happy being touched, carried, cuddled, walked and groomed.

She has not been cat tested

Bluebelle could do with some work re housetraining, she has access to the garden at all times (open back door) but can have an accident in the evening. She was sick in the car when travelling for walks or the vet but was fine at the he vets and perfect on a walk.

Bluebelle would thrive in a home that has the time to work on her confidence and training. Ideally it would be with humans who are at home for most of the time and definitely ones who enjoy cuddles and attention. They must also like to spend time outside as she does love a walk and, maybe, as her confidence grows she could be convinced to run around and play She needs a canine companion in her home to help with her confidence. Bluebelle would not do well in a home where she is left alone.

Only dog in the home

Owner home most of the time

Children 10 years and older who understands nervous dogs

No Cats

Tinsel is a 9 year old typically nervous, skitty chihuahua who will snap (not bite) if she feels threatened. She needs to know that she’s safe and to get to know you before she relaxes. Once you have gained her trust she’s like a different dog and practically jumps into your arms for some loving! She likes nothing better than curling up on your lap like a cat where she will stay until you have to move her. If she’s not on your lap then she likes to be next to you, touching you or walking around in your arms! She does go into her bed independently at times but much prefers company.

She would happily stay on your lap all day but also loves her walks and is currently enjoying 2 short daily walks.
Now she’s comfortable in her foster home her little personality is starting to come out and she will have zoomies when excited which is so lovely to see. Tinsel has been a delight to foster and will make someone a lovely, low maintenance lap dog!

She’s had 12 teeth out but is eating well and there doesn’t seem to be any problems.

Now Tinsel has settled and feels safe, she has welcomed the few visitors to the house and encourages them to fuss her. She absolutely adores being petted and is a typical lapdog. She seems to feel threatened by males and has barked at them.

She hasn’t been around many children due to Covid but sensible older children 10+ she has loved. She’s got a lovely relationship with my daughter who is 12.

Tinsel needs to be an only dog. She is reactive towards other dogs on walks if they are in close contact and if we’ve had a visitor call to the door with a dog. However, she usually ignores dogs on the other side of the road or who are further away in the field.

She has reacted to next door’s cat when they have sat on the windowsill outside.

Tinsel is a dream at night. She sleeps on her own in the kitchen in her bed all night without any fuss and greets you excitedly in the mornings. She has been clean. Tinsel is toilet trained and will go outside to toilet and will ask by standing by the door if you are in the room. However there have been a couple of occasions when she’s had an accident when I’ve been out of the room.

She’s not destructive at all and shows little or no interest in toys apart from one little ducky that she rags if she gets excited!
It took a bit of trial and error to get her on the right food for her tummy but she enjoys her food and even when she had her teeth out she wolfed down her kibble that had been soaked. She has a penchant for chicken breast too! I can take her bowl from her and she doesn’t fuss.

Luckily for her due to Covid she hasn’t been left for more that 1-2 hours at a time and has been ok. She’s also fine if I left to go upstairs without her for a while. But she does love company and would be best suited to someone who was home a lot of the time.

Tinsel travels really well in the car and walks beautifully on the lead. As stated before she can be reactive to dogs who she thinks are too close. She’s been fine at the vets, behaving perfectly well for some but snapping at others!

I believe Tinsel would be better in a calm, quieter house as she’s noise reactive and jumps at the slightest noise. No children or an older child who has gained her trust by letting her come to them. She is really low maintenance but enjoys her walks so would suit someone who likes to be out and about but doesn’t need to go far. She is really good company and loves to curl up on your lap so would love someone who is home for much of the time.

Flopsy is around 6-7 years old and is a very affectionate and happy girl, However she can be a little timid to start. She loves being fussed and will whine and lick your hand if you stop fussing her. She’s learning to walk on a lead and is clean in the house about 90% of the time. She hasn’t met many people in the home but those she has, she was fairly confident with. She’s been to the groomer who said she was no trouble at all.

Flopsy is happy with other dogs in and out of the home. She will need at least one other dog in her new home to continue her eduation and give her confidence. She has not been tested with cats or any other small furries.

Flopsy sleeps in her foster mums’ bedroom but in her own bed. She is not destructive at all. She is okay being left with the other dogs and gets very excited and barks when ever her foster mum gets home. She is mostly toilet trained but has taken a few steps back when we had snow. When she is downstairs she prefers a cushion on one of the sofas.

Flopsy is good on walks although still unsure and a little nervous so takes her queues from the other resident dog. She behaved perfectly at the vets.

Flopsy will need a quieter home with at least one other dog and ideally someone at home a lot of the day. Flopsy also needs a child free home. Shes okay if children visit but they need to understand that Flopsy needs time and space to get used to them and will be scared if the child is boisterous.

Tizzy

Children 10 and over

Only pet in the house

French Bulldog experienced home essential

Tizzy is a 5 yr. old French Bulldog. She is a delightful, playful, affectionate dog who loves all people, children included.

She has no known health issues other than licking of all four paws. This has been vet checked and seems to be a comfort habit.

Tizzy has been fine with children but we recommend children 10 and over. Soft toys will not live long if left unattended as she likes to steal and dissect them. Not tested with cats at home but reacts strongly to cats encountered on walks. I would not advise homing with any other animal.

Tizzy would be better as an only dog as she can be reactive to the other dogs that she meets outside on a lead. This is better since coming into foster so positive reinforcement and continued support with ongoing socialisation from her forever family will help her with this issue. She is very protective of her owner but can be trained with ongoing socialisation.

Tizzy is house trained but needs regular walks/visits to the garden or there may be an accident. Tizzy sleeps in the kitchen/hall but is ready to get up any time after 7 especially if she needs to go out. She has been left for short periods and the only thing ‘attacked’ was the cat flap which was in bits. She obviously could see outside and wanted out. Toys need to be pretty indestructible too although she does look after her favourites. Soft toys last seconds but she does not worry or destroy anything else. She is not aggressive with food or toys being taken from her. She is not food orientated at all although she does react to rustling packets but only in a watchful way. Her favourite toy/ball is her reward. She is fed grain free twice a day.

Tizzy is great on the lead until encountering another dog. She loves the car and prefers a harness/seat belt to the travelling crate. She is absolutely fine at the vets.

Tizzy would be best as an only dog with a family who are experienced with French Bulldogs and their traits.

Babs the Bulldog is 3 years old and a very loving girl who loves cuddles and attention. She walks very well on lead and will stay within a couple of feet when walking. She loves to stick her tongue out all day and lick whatever is close to her before settling down for long naps. She loves to always be close to you and will follow you around the house like a shadow. She is fine with people and will come over for fusses from everyone. She is getting used to being brushed but isn’t a huge fan of it at present but is very happy with cuddles and gentle stokes. Babs has been fine around children in the foster home and I’d say she would be fine with anyone over 10 years old

Babs will need to be the only dog in home as she doesn’t like to share however can socialise outside with other dogs. She will also not tolerate a cat in the home.

Babs is sleeping in a cage overnight which has been working well. She is house trained but doesn’t have a signal to go other than pacing around a little so her foster family have been taking her out every few hours. She plays with a bone and also a ball but hasn’t shown much interest in toys. She eats well and enjoys food. She hasn’t shown any destructive tendencies at all and has been well behaved in general

She can be a little tentative when visiting the vets but is ok. She behaves very well on walks with no issues at all and she also travels well more often than not settling down for nap when on a journey. Babs needs a home that can give her lots of love and attention and that doesn’t spend to much time without her. She is a very loving dog that enjoys the same amount of love returned.

A lover not a fighter! Nico is a gentle soul who despite her size is a little unsure about things until she’s worked out they are not going to eat her. She’s a fluffy and affectionate young cat who will greet you with cuddles in the morning and will curl up with you at night. She likes to follow you around the house to see what’s going on. She may have a (mild) desire for physical activity once a day, but this passes and she is quickly back to her laid-back self. She has learnt to play with toys rather than hands and enjoys catching things for a few minutes. She would be good with older children (gets on well with my cat-savvy 8yo) but would probably learn to get away from energetic younger kids. She’s a sweetie who will appreciate a quiet-ish house. Not dog tested.

Calm resident dog

Owners around for most of the time

Cooper is a very sweet 5 year old chihuahua who is a little nervous at present but his foster family are trying to help him settle and he is relaxing more each day. He has been a little anxious around his foster brothers and sisters as he is learning to find his place in this very new world that he has found himself in. He loves his walks and is good on a harness which is lucky as he needs to lose a little weight. He is learning how to play and loves a lap to snuggle on.

Cooper is learning to trust humans and enjoys being stroked but can be a little sensitive about his tail being touched. He will benefit from having a calm older dog in the home who can show him the ropes and help him to relax. He is currently quite opinionated and likes the sound of his own voice which is a work in progress.

Cooper is happy around the home and has previously been used to sleeping in a crate but would much prefer to snuggle up to his humans and foster fur family on the bed. He loves to snuggle in to a human! Cooper enjoys his food and has shown no food aggression. He hasn’t shown any interest in playing with toys in his foster home. He has been left for short periods of time with the other dogs and has shown no anxiety.

Cooper travels well in the car and shows no issue at the vets.

Cooper would benefit from having an older family or individual/couple who are around most of the time. He needs an older calm dog to help him understand ‘how to be a dog’. We feel Cooper will benefit from his new human being chihuahua experienced.
