Name: Carol

Age: c. 7 years old

Breed: Bichon

Can I live with Children: Yes

Can I live with cats: Yes

Can I live with other dogs: Yes

Fostered in: Melksham, Wiltshire

Lovable Carol is around 7 old and is being fostered in Melksham. She is a former breeding dog who has made significant progress on the road to rehabilitation. Due to her poor eyesight, Carol is nervous of new people and will bark at them until she knows it is safe. She will need patient owners who will allow her time to build up a bond with them.

People – Carol is so much better with people than when she first arrived but can be a bit nervous with people she doesn’t know. She has a lovely bond with her foster mum and will bond with people when she trusts them.

Dogs – Carol can live by herself or will live with another dog. She currently lives with her foster sister, a tri-pawed collie named Becky and there are no issues with each other. Carol was originally part of a larger group of five dogs and she found this all overwhelming so we would advise against homing her in a home with lots of other dogs.

In the home – Carol is crate trained and happy to go in and out as she uses it for security when she feels anxious. Her crate training means she travels well in the car. She is fine to be left for up to two hours, provided she has doggie company. She enjoys to cwtch up with people she trusts.

Out and about – Carol has had a hard life, being kept indoors to breed puppies. Some of these breeding dogs find the outside fascinating and love to play. However, Carol is not one of them. She doesn’t particularly like walking far and on the whole, is not playful. For this reason, she would be more suited to short walks as opposed to a long trek.

Carol is chipped, vaccinated and up to date with her flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to arrange to travel to Melksham to meet her.
