POTENTIAL ADOPTERS MUST BE PREPARED TO TRAVEL TO MEET BRIAN

NEEDS ANOTHER WELL-MANNERED DOG TO PLAY WITH AND LEARN FROM

BULLDOG EXPERIENCED HOME

SENSE OF HUMOUR A MUST

OLDER DOG SAVVY CHILDREN

PAWRENTS WHO CAN CONTINUE HS EDUCATION AND SET BOUNDARIES

Brian the Bulldog is a 6 month old bundle of energy that finds everything to be such a wonder, that he should’ve been called Alice. He’s seen so very little in his short life, that he experiences daily joy and fear in vast amounts. He needs to have firm and consistent boundaries in place to help him deal with this range of emotions. He’s still very much a baby, just a large bouncy one.

Medical history to be discussed with potential adopters.

Brian loves all people. Little people, large people, young people and old people. At first, he’s quite shy and subdued but he soon gets back to his bouncy, daft self. This means introductions need to be supervised. He’s still very much a baby and is learning about life.

Brian has met little people. He has been quiet and gentle with them, but he can quickly become excited and bouncy. He needs to learn boundaries so dog confident olderchildren would be essential.

Not cat tested but whilst Brian has been in foster the resident cat has decided to leave home. He doesn’t react to cats on walks but seems to be a bit scared of pigeons.

Brian sleeps in his crate, and is clean overnight. He uses his crate as his napping area, and it is also used as a time out zone when needed. He likes to chew – table legs, stools, fridge doors – but is learning it’s not allowed so quickly changes to licking the object if you catch him. He’s not been allowed on the sofa or bed, but he would really like to be up there. Brian has been told that once he learns manners then snuggles on the sofa will be allowed. He is almost toilet trained during the day, but does use a pee pad that is provided for a disabled housemate. He may need this in his new home at first but we are pretty confident that he would quickly learn to go out. He can be left, crated for short periods without issue.

Brian walks nicely on the lead and isn’t fazed by much now. He does have a hatred of metal field gates, and is determined to eradicate them. He will also not walk on cracks in the ground, so assume he is quite superstitious. He has enjoyed a church cream tea and was very much admired by all.

Brian is going to need another well-behaved dog to play and cuddle with. A bulldog experienced home to continue with his training and with setting firm boundaries. He’s still very puppy like, and his list of new experiences is very long. He can be a bit of an idiot, and it is like having a toddler drive a tank around your home so a good sense of humour is vital. He’d also appreciate a nice plump bed; someone to hold his jaw so he can enjoy a biscuit treat; and no fluffy terrorists in the home.
