Tinsel D2022-185

  • To be adopted on a neutering and training agreement
  • Needs another playful dog
  • Dog savvy cat
  • Older children
  • A family who are around most of the time and will continue her education
  • Must love cuddling

Tinsel is a 5 month old Dalmatian cross beagle described by her foster mum as a super duper friendly little girl that can be shy at times but soon comes out of her shell and loves everyone she meets. She’s been an absolute joy to have in our home and whoever adopts her will be so very lucky. Despite the breed she is a small girl, not much bigger than a large Jack Russell and isn’t expected to grow to be that big.

She loves her food but takes treats gently and isn’t mean to the other dogs over it.

She is super happy to meet everyone and wants to jump all over you and give kisses. She will have the odd bark if someone knocks on the door but as soon as the doors open she’s jumping up for a fuss. This needs to be worked on so she isn’t so over excited.

She has been great with all the children she has met and is currently in foster with 3 children aged between 7 and 11. She really loves to play and cuddle with them so would love a family home. We would however not recommend she lives with small children dur to her being a bit jumpy.

This week she has been on the school run all this week with her foster mum and it has been the highlight of her day!

She lived with a cat in her previous home but sometimes wanted to play a bit too rough with it. Would possibly be OK with a dog savvy cat who will tell her when she’s being too rough but that would be down her potential owner.

Not tested with small furries but with the beagle breeding this may be an issue.

Has met sheep, horses, cows and peacocks and is more inclined to avoid them than do anything. She is a normal puppy with normal puppy behaviour. She chews the odd thing but is happy to have things removed from her and traded for a more appropriate chew and is learning to ‘drop it’ for a treat.

She has come on in leaps and bounds with her toilet training but her forever family will have to keep this up to ensure she nails it.

She is crate trained but gets upset if she is left alone. She happily sleeps in her crate in foster mums’ room at night, but loves nothing more than curling up in your bed or right next to you on the sofa for snoozy cuddles. She has a degree of separation anxiety and her forever family will have to be dedicated in helping her overcome this, she just loves her humans and doesn’t want to be away from them, but she needs to learn that her humans will always come back.

She walks happily on a lead though can pull a bit at first as she is excited to get out. She has been off lead with other dogs and quickly picked up that if you come back when called you get a fuss and a yummy treat so it wouldn’t take much to solidify a strong recall. Again, it will just take training.

Tinsel would like a family home with lots of people to give her fuss, at first, she’s going to need someone home pretty much all the time or where she can go with you, she doesn’t mind who it is, she just loves her human company. A home that will be dedicated to carrying on training and take her to puppy class to help her grow into the dog we know she can be. She definitely wants to be a sofa dog; I Don’t think she would be happy in the sort of home where she isn’t allowed on furniture or laps etc as she really does enjoy her evening snuggles. A home with another playful dog who can be a friend and example to her.

Steve Nicks D2022-181

  • Needs a resident dog
  • Older dog savvy children
  • Not cat tested
  • Patient parents as she is a work in progress.

Stevie Nicks is a 5 year old cockerpoo described by her foster mum as a sensitive, nervous and skittish little girl who is wary of new people especially at initial meetings and will freeze with fear when you handle her. She does eventually come around to being handled but this is a work in progress and is going to take time. She is currently not a playful or cuddly dog and will need time to decompress and feel safe. She does however remain skittish and any sudden movements or noise will send her scurrying away. The longer she is in the foster home the braver she’s become so she just needs time and space to work up her courage to be able to love and trust her humans.

Veterinary history to be discussed

She would be ok with an older dog savvy children in a quiet home.

Not cat or small furry tested

Stevie has been an angel in the home from day one. She is toilet trained and has done all her business outside with no indoor accidents. She sleeps downstairs in the living room cuddled up with the resident dog who she follows everywhere. She has been left for around two hours with the resident dog with no problem at all, she cannot be left alone without canine company however as she absolutely hates to be parted from her doggy friend. So far she has shown no destructive behaviour or chewing. She is wary of visitors to the home but she will follow the lead of her foster sibling and show some curious interest. She has loved being outside in the garden with the resident dog.

Stevie has only had her first vaccine so she hasn’t been out and about yet but when she does, she is expected to just follow the other dogs and learn that way. She has practiced with a lead and harness around the house and garden so she is now used to wearing them. As the outside world is new to her, she may be scared of loud and sudden noises at first but again she will copy the example of her dog sibling so as long as they model positive behaviour she will follow. She has been fine whilst travelling to and from the vets in the car as long as she is safely restrained.

Stevie Nicks needs a quieter home with loving patient parents who’ll give her the time and space she needs to settle in at her own pace. She will absolutely need a kind and gentle dog sibling or siblings who won’t mind sharing their people and will let her cuddle up to them and let her follow them round so she can learn from them all the positive things about living in a home with humans. She will also need a secure house and garden and parents who will monitor her as she is a flight risk until settled.

Buddy D2022-186

  • Needs a resident dog
  • Older dog savvy children
  • Dog savvy cat
  • Loving and patient parents as he’s a work in progress

Buddy is a 3 year old cavalier described by his foster mum as a scared boy who is desperate to love. He is a timid and shy little man when you first meet him but once he lets that guard down and learns to trust he is a real cuddle monster that likes to be close to his humans. Currently his favourite thing is sitting as close to you on the sofa giving kisses.

Being in a home is all new to Buddy so he is finding household noises interesting and is enjoying watching the TV. NO scry films though or he wont sleep. He does wonder where people go when they walk off screen and looks around as if to say “where did they go”. Every day is an adventure in his strange new world as he is coping well with the support of his family and their resident dogs.

He is fine with older dog savvy children but younger children and a noisy home would scare him.

He has seen the resident cat and pays it no attention. After all it won’t give him any cuddles as this cat thinks stinky dogs are beneath them

He’s been out in the garden and seen the birds and the bees. He wasn’t quite sure what grass was but has got the idea that its for playing and toileting on. House training is a work in progress and every day he’s getting better. If he’s taken out regularly, he gets the idea of what he is supposed to be doing

Lead training is ongoing but he has made positive steps that will need to continue in his forever home

Buddy would love a family home with a resident dog and older children where he can be exercised.  A family who can keep his mind interested (he’s fascinated by the xmas tree) but most importantly that love giving cuddles – he currently sleeps upstairs in a dog bed next to the family dog. He needs to feel near a reassuring presence. He is a loving engaging and faithful dog that will need some reassurance and a little patience but the love and adoration he gives back is unmeasurable.

Snowflake D2022-187

  • Can be an only dog or live with another laid back dog
  • Older teenage children
  • Dog savvy cats
  • Patient and loving pawrents who will help her adjust

Snowflake is a 2.5 year old Westie described by her foster mum as a darling who still acts like a puppy. She is super friendly and has a lovely waggy tail. She loves attention and has been stuck to her foster mum like glue since her arrival. Her favourite thing is cuddling up and having all the attention. She is cautious in her new surroundings and not having the best start in life she now needs reassurance that you are not going to leave her.

Snowflake currently sleeps on the bed with her foster mum as she was not happy to be left alone downstairs. She seems to be afraid of the dark and is anxious when left alone. This is being worked on but is going to take time. She bonds very quickly and deeply due to never having been loved before. She has been left for 30 mins or so with the resident dog at home in the day and did settle but could be seen on camera pacing around.

She loves nothing better than being on the sofa or bed all cuddled up to her favourite human. She is wary of other dogs but not aggressive just doesn’t want to currently share any attention for cuddles. When she has been challenged by the she backs down immediately. As she has previously never been loved enough to be taught how to behave living in a house with other dogs and humans is all new to her so she will take time to decompress.

Snowflake was lucky enough to accompany her mum to her place of work and adored the attention she received from everyone. She is very afraid of noises from young children and shakes like a leaf when she sees or hears them in the distance and would bolt given the chance. Therefore, she cannot be homed with young children but older dog savvy teenage children who will fuss her would be fine.

She will walk on a lead but is not used to all the noises of a busy outside world so is currently on high alert and needs reassurance from her human and guidance from the resident dog. She eats well and is not greedy. She is also learning to take a treat from your hand. She finds the TV fascinating and would initially bark at it but now she just stares.

Snowflake has found the joys of a squeaky ball (OH JOY). It brings her so much happiness and it distracts her when she is feeling unsure. She is a work in progress with toilet training and is clean most of the time if taken outside every few hours. She knows she has to toilet before breakfast and waits to be let out. There has been the odd accident when she has been scared or if not taken outside quickly for some reason

Snowflake is like a puppy and needs to learn her boundaries around others, she craves attention because she hasn’t had enough before but in time she will settle.

She has seen the neighbour’s cat and just ignored so maybe okay with dog savvy cats

Snowflake could be an only dog if the owner was around most of the time and she wasn’t left. She is happy to spend time with a neighbour when foster mum in in work, or shopping, so its company she is craving. She could also live with another laid back dog who doesn’t mind sharing their human but who will help her gain confidence in the outside world but not be a complete push over and let her rule the roost. Older dog savvy children and parents who will just love her and help her build her confidence that not all humans are bad.

Hunter D2022-180

  • Can be an only dog or live with others
  • Can live with dog savvy cats
  • Older dog savvy children
  • Owners home most of the time
  • Quiet retirement home but still needs short walks

Hunter is 10 year old Long Haired Chihuahua described by his foster mum as a really huggable little guy. He loves human company and has responded very well to a loving but quiet household. He loves to sleep, more than he loves to walk but does need a short walk to sniff about and keep him healthy.

He happily walks with other dogs, and socialises well with other friendly dogs. He’s an older chap and can take a little while to surface in the morning so can be a little grumpy first thing. He’s not a big fan of cold weather, and can take a bit of convincing to leave his warm bed. Shaking as soon as cold air touches him. He has visited cafes and towns with no issues at all and everyone comments on how handsome he is.

Vet history to be discussed with potential adopters.

Hunter loves human company and being close to his person is where he relaxes best. He’s a bit shy with new people when he first meets them but once he feels his feet, he is so loving and loves a tummy tickle, and would quite happily be smoothed all day. He loves his humans so much that he also prefers to sleep by them, sleeping alone is no fun for him.

Even though Hunter has been around an 8 year old dog savvy child who is very respectful of animals. We would not recommend him for a busy child focused household with lots of noise. Children over 10 would be best.

Hunter is respectful towards cats and has never made any efforts to chase or antagonise the resident cats unless he’s eating their cat food.

In the home Hunter is very well behaved and has always gone to toilet outside as long as he has access to a garden or walks throughout the day.

Hunter needs a quiet home where his person is around most of the time. He really is the perfect little man and just needs someone who will adore him. He would like a garden to potter around in and sunbathe on warm days. He has a funny little personality and will come looking for you if you are out of the room for too long. He could be an only dog or live with another dog.

Daisy D2022-141

  • Daisy needs a long term foster home within one hours drive of Maesglas Vets, Brackla, Bridgend, CF31 2JT
  • Can be an only dog or live with another confident dog
  • Can live with dog savvy cats
  • Older dog savvy children
  • Special long term foster parents’ home all the time to help her
  • Neutering agreement once medically able

Daisy is a 15 month old Bichon cross Cavalier described by her foster mum as a puppy who was surrendered to our charity as she has epilepsy and her previous family were unable to cope. She has loads of energy and is a cheeky littlest character who loves to play with toys, loves to go on walks and likes to think she’s the boss.

She ideally needs to re homed on her own or with another dog who will show her how to behave like a young lady without getting to overwhelmed. She’s a complete snuggle monster who loves her humans and enjoys nothing more than a cwtch on the sofa. She loves her treats and knows the sit command and is starting to come back when called.

Daisy’s epilepsy is mostly controlled via medication but this is an ongoing process and will take time to settle and be managed appropriately.

As she is young and full of energy she does jump up and become over excited which is being worked on so we would not recommend any young children.

Daisy lives with a cat and has sniffed the cat but doesn’t really show much interest                .

Daisy is toilet trained and will scratch the door to let you know she needs to go out. She sleeps all night and is as good as gold. She just wants to be near you. She gets really excited when she plays and hasn’t yet learned when to stop so to stop her overdoing things, she is placed in a crate with a treat to give her a time out and to allow her to calm down.

Daisy loves to go out for a walk and have a good sniff. She also absolutely loves being off the lead to run free but this can only be in a secure field as her recall is still being worked on and she is easily distracted.

Daisy needs a long term foster home where her owners are home all the time in case she has an episode. This home needs to be within an hours dive of our Maesglas vets in Brackla, Bridgend who are taking great care of her. She can be rehomed with a confident dog who will play with her but not allow her to rule the roost and help her understand boundaries especially where play is concerned. She could also be an only dog with doggy friends she can visit and play with as this is her favourite thing to do. Daisy is a very young 15 month old who does not understand that she is poorly and needs to sometimes take it easy for her own good. Her condition and needs will be discussed fully and full support will be given.

Cruella D2022-166

  • Needs a resident dog
  • Older teenage children
  • Can live with cats
  • Patient owners who understand she is a work in progress and this will take time and love

Cruella is a 8 year old Bichon described by her foster mum as a happy but nervous girl. She will wag her tail when she sees her foster mum but is hand shy and will need a lot of patience from her forever family. There is a loving girl underneath all that fear of being touched who just needs time to be allowed to overcome this at her own pace.

Cruella or Ella as we call her loves her food and will cock her head to the side watching as her food is prepared. She loves to watch the neighbours through the window and is very curious as to what they are doing. She runs to greet us with the other dogs when we come home but will hold back behind the other dogs for safety.

She is nervous of strangers and is still very reliant on her foster siblings to know when it’s safe to approach which has to be on her own terms.

Cruella hasn’t met any children. A home without children would be best for this scared girl and visiting children should be teenagers or older that would not want to pet her.

Cruella lives with a cat and has shown no interest in him, she hasn’t met any other small furry animals.

Cruella is 95%house trained and will go to toilet in the garden everytime she is encouraged to. She will have the odd accident in the home when her human goes out but this soon stops when she realises that they will return.

She loves to snooze on the sofa or on her cushion on the floor with her buddies. She sleeps on her foster mums bed with the other 2 bichons in the home and sleeps soundly all night although she can get nervous if her human gets up in the night, but talking quietly to her calms her down.

Eĺla likes to nibble things so will need lots of distractions especially slippers, socks and anything else she can pinch.

As she is still very hand shy she will need a lot of patience before she can even have a harness on in the home and then a lead attached and then lots of only being walked in the garden so not to frighten her of being attached to her human.

Cruella needs a quiet stress free home where she can feel safe and take her time to find her paws. A home that won’t expect too much of her and will not push her to do things until she is ready. A home without children and only teenager or older visiting children. If you want a dog that will go out walking straight away then Cruella is not for you, as she will need a lot of time to trust her new owners and they will need to give her space and time to gain her trust. Once she does, she will be a wonderful fun loving girl that I know is desperate to come out given time. She travels in a crate in the car and is nervous, but given time she will be better.

Audrey D2022-169

  • PLEASE READ THE WRITE UP BEFORE APPLYING
  • Needs a resident dog
  • Older dog savvy children
  • Not cat or small furry tested
  • Patient and loving owners who are home most of the time

Audrey is an 8 year old King Charles Cavalier described by her foster mum as a middle aged lady looking for a human with a sofa to call her own. She is a darling who hasn’t enjoyed an easy life until now but is ready to live out her retirement in a calm and loving home with plenty of cuddle’s food and the occasional bit of fun. She doesn’t mind if you are a woman or a man or anything else for that matter as long as you treat her gently, feed her regularly and share your home and your bed with her. She’s spent a long time on her own so now wants a companion who will be around most of the day to show her what this wonderful world has to offer. She doesn’t mind if you like rugby or football, she’s quite happy to sit and admire you while you cheer on your favourite team. She would like a calm resident dog to help her learn the skills she needs to live in a home and to comfort her when she feels a little anxious.

She’s in good general health but like most women of a certain age bits and pieces are starting to drop. She’s lost a lot of her teeth so will need a nice soft diet and occasional treat to keep her comfortable. She’s very friendly towards people big and small and dogs of all shapes and sizes. She is starting to see that people can be very kind and she finds comfort in a gentle touch and a loving cuddle taken at her pace. She will watch constantly. At first with caution then as she gets to know you, she will gaze at you with adoration. Looking lovingly into your eyes heart and soul.

Audrey is very good with children of all sizes. If there were any children living at her new home or visiting that they understand that she is new to this environment and needs time to develop a trust in people. She needs a gentle touch and tone until she feels safe.

Not cat or small furry tested.

Audrey is house trained and will follow the other dogs lead on toileting outdoors, however this may take time to establish in a new home so please expect a few mistakes or accidents until she becomes familiar with your routine.

Audrey sleeps in bed with her humans and resident dogs. She would quite happily enjoy getting up early every day and bounds around with her tail wagging to greet each new day or enjoy a lazy lay in until you are ready to get up. She’s so easy going and just wants to fit into her new life. She has adopted a little pink Elephant called Edna whom she washes with kisses and licks that will need to be rehomed with her.

Audrey has suffered with travel sickness on most of her car journeys. She travels very quietly despite this in a dog carrier on the rear seat.

Due to her vaccination status, she has not been out lead walking just yet but gets very excited when the harness comes out and is happy to have it on with a lead attached and has done some lead training in the garden and is very keen to explore this beyond the garden gate if she were allowed.

Audrey would like a home where she can relax and feel safe, where her human or people are around most of the day. She would need at least one resident calm and friendly dog to follow their lead. She doesn’t ask for much, she doesn’t want to compete in next years Crufts or be dressed up as a super model dog , she doesn’t want to be the first Cav in space. She just wants to enjoy her hard earned retirement being a lap dog who is guaranteed regular meals, constant love, a gentle touch and tone and an understanding of her needs. She will need time to adjust and build up a trust with her new people. Children would need to understand that Audrey is not a playful pup and that she needs to feel safe around them so older dog savy children proffered.
She may be a “King” Charles Cavalier but she deserves to be treated like a Queen

Pablo D2022- 177

Could live with resident dogs

Could be an only dog

Good with cats

Older dog savvy children

Flat face experience a must

Pablo is a 12 month old French bulldog described by his foster mum as a typical young Frenchie who is full of beans and loves human attention. He is full of fun, character and loves to snuggle on the sofa snoring his head off. He is an easy frenchie, which is not something we say often in rescue, but he is an absolutely lovely dog who will make someone the best companion who you will spend hours laughing at with his funny ways.

Veterinary history and ongoing care to be discussed fully with potential adopters.

Pablo is good with other dogs, ignores cats and is very easy to fall instantly in love with. He did come in with some skin issues which will need careful management but this will be fully discussed with potential adopters.

Pablo loves people and is very full on when he meets them so any potential adopters should be prepared to do some training with him on meeting people and continue to teach him good manners. He currently thinks everyone should say hello to him and he is very affectionate about it!. He’s not a big dog but frenchies are very stubborn and over excitable and as a flat face he shouldn’t be allowed to get over excited or play all day. Due to his breed his breathing needs careful management so a home with older children or adults only would best suit Pablo.

Pablo wants to be with you and isn’t a fan of being left for long periods. He is crate trained but will sing initially when you leave and if he hears you coming home. He is a total sofa dog and loves snuggles and sleeping upside down snoring away.

Pablo is house trained but as a young dog if he moves to a new home this may need work for the first couple of days until he settles.

Pablo is a very confident outgoing frenchie who loves walks which will need to be managed in hot weather due to his flat face. Potential adopters need to show an awareness of this which will be fully discussed.

Pablo needs a flat face experienced home, with or without other dogs and ideally with people home during the day. He may need ongoing vet treatment if his skin flares up at any point in his life, so he needs owners committed to his future and the costs this may incur. Owners that are committed to sticking to his food and supplement routine to minimise the chance of these issues reoccurring. He needs a home that isn’t applying for him because of his unusual colour or that he’s a popular breed. He needs an owner that will give him the breed specific care he needs, and someone that will accept that he is more like adopting a toddler than adopting a dog!

Archie D2022-174

  • Needs a resident dog
  • Older dog savvy children
  • Not cat tested
  • Adoring parents

Archie is a 3 year old King Charles Cavalier described by his foster mum as an absolute cracker who is super friendly and loves nothing more than snuggling up with his foster mum on the sofa under the blanket. He has so much love to give and just wants to please. He always greets his foster mum with a waggy tail and lots of kisses.

He still gets spooked by sudden noises, but coped well with the fireworks and is growing in confidence by the day and is now very calm. Archie has been an angel with everyone he has met. He does not appear to have any fear towards men and adores his foster Dad.

Not cat tested

Archie settles well when left and does not destroy anything. He enjoys going for a walk and spends most of the time snuffling in the leaves. He looks at the world with wonder and will stop and stare at new things. He has adjusted well to traffic but is happier on quieter walks.

Archie needs a home with a resident fog for guidance. He would fit in well in a home where the new owners have the time to commit to giving him the love and comfort he deserves. He’s not going to be a dog who wants to go mountain climbing or paddle boarding but he is going to want to go for a nice daily walk with his fur pals. Archie doesn’t ask for much, just love walks and food, a perfect little gent.

Zelda D2022-171

  • Needs a resident dog as an adventure buddy
  • Needs to go to puppy class
  • Dog savvy children
  • Not cat or small furry tested
  • Needs an active home and adventures

Zelda is a 7 month old cavalier cross spaniel described by her foster mum as simply beautiful. She just wants to be loved and she has so much love to give. She is beautiful inside and out.

Zelda would love to live with someone who can play with her belly all the time or give her cuddles / strokes. She knows how to use her big eyes to get you to do this and forgive her for her mischief. She is still a puppy after all.

She loves going for walks and thinks it’s very unfair that she has to be on a lead and they are currently on short walks to build stamina. She can initially pull with excitement and forgets herself. She loves to sniff and discover and would love to be able to explore more. Her training on a lead is going well but this will need to be continued in her forever home.

She is a very clever girl and has been easy to train with positive reinforcement. She mastered learning to sit within a few days.
She plays with toys and will catch and bring them back when not distracted by other dogs.

Her manners with food are a work in progress and she will now take treats nicely. In the home she will benefit from a slow feeder as she loves her food a little too much.

She absolutely loves people especially if they will scratch her belly and give her some love.

Not cat or small furry tested

Not tested with children under 10 but shows absolutely no aggression.

Zelda hasn’t yet mastered toilet training but is trying hard every day. It’s just hard for her to tear herself away from tummy tickles to go to toilet. She is not keen on going outside when wet unless it’s for a proper walk and then that’s fine. Well what girl wants to get her hair wet it goes all curly after all.

She loves to lie by your feet or sit and watch you hoping for a belly rub at every opportunity. Zelda is a very young 7-month-old and being a pet is all new to her. She’s slowly learning the house rules but anything she can get in her mouth is fair game for chewing if she is left to her own devices.

Zelda needs an active home with someone who is willing to take the time to train her. She loves to learn and be rewarded for being so clever. She would love to be part of a family so she can get as many belly rubs as is possible. She needs to live with a resident dog as an adventure buddy and mentor.

Ivy D2022-170

  • Needs a resident dog
  • Not cat or small furry tested
  • Dog savvy children
  • Active pawrents to keep her brain busy
  • To be adopted on a training agreement. This little one really needs the stimulation of puppy class

Ivy is a 7 month old Cavashon described by her foster mum as a secret agent cleverly disguised as an angelic little girl. Most of the time this is who she is…. But when she receives her call, she transforms into chief mischief maker. She is a very clever girl who in a short time has learnt to sit and is getting the idea of down when she first sees us.

Ivy likes to be on two legs and we think she would make a fabulous dog for doing tricks. She loves to play, loves to chase toys not so good on bringing them back but this is a work in progress.

Ivy walks nicely on a short lead when out and about but isn’t initially keen on the idea of going. Once she’s out and about she’s fine.

Ivy loves other dogs and wants to have lots of doggy friends. In fact she says the more the merrier

She hasn’t been tested with children under 9 but believe she would be the perfect dog for a family.

Not cat or small furry tested

Toilet training is a work in progress and she been happy to use a large cat flap and has been doing well but sometimes forgets when she’s playing or distracted.

Now although Ivy is practically perfect in every way you must remember she is still very much a baby who up until now has hand no one to show her the good dog path so she comes with a warning. If you don’t put it away its fair game and she likes to shred things. Excellent if your paper shredder isn’t working not so much fun if she finds your stash of cash.

Ivy is very bright and intelligent and needs someone who will keep her entertained and busy. She’s an active little girl when going so needs those little adventures. She also needs a resident dog as shes led a sheltered life and needs that doggy interaction to help her feel safe. She is a real people pleaser and is great with visitors.

Dee Dee D2022-165

  • Can be an only dog
  • Can live with other dogs
  • Not cat or small furry tested
  • Needs to loose weight
  • Loving parents who will adore her

Dee Dee is an 8 year old Chocolate Labrador described by her foster mum as your typical ‘food loving’ Lab. She has settled well in her foster home and is respectful of the 2 resident dogs and is being very gentle with the 10 month old pup.

Veterinary history to be discussed with potential adopters

Dee Dee definitely needs a home that will be prepared to give her the exercise a dog of this size needs. This will need to be introduce slowly to build up her fitness but she has already lost 2 kgs since being in foster care but still has more to lose which can be discussed with her new owner.

As said she is a typical Labrador who loves anyone and everything. She is so happy, even more so when there’s food involved!

Dee Dee would like to live with dog savvy children 10 and over.

She hasn’t been tested with cats or small furries

Dee Dee is house trained and will use a crate if you want her too. She will sit for her food and as yet she hasn’t barked! She will follow you around the house but will also go to her bed if needs be.

Dee Dee is very happy out in the garden and will come back into the house when called. She’s been very friendly at the vets with people and dogs even when being treated.

Dee Dee will make the perfect pet whether it be with a big family or a smaller family. She can be with dog savvy children and with another resident dog to lead the way or on her own to soak up all the attention she really does deserve. A home that will take her on lots of adventures and let her be the beautiful dog she really is

Candy D2022-172

  • Can be an only dog with doggy friends for play dates
  • Can live with another dog
  • Not cat or small furry tested
  • Older dog savvy children
  • Patient, active and loving parents.

Candy is a 7 year old Westie described by her foster mum as a special girl with a lovely nature who is still trying to adjust and relax into being a much loved fur baby. She can become nervous if confined in any small space or trapped in a corner. When she is like this the best thing to do is to distract her with a squeaky toy, either throwing it for her or allowing her to have it in her mouth. She is getting better with reassurance every day.

She has been left on her own for short periods with no problem.

She loves being curled up to her foster mum on the sofa.

She also loves being brushed, although she was cut short when she arrived in foster to help improve her coat.

She is quiet around people but not really fearful just a little nervous taking her time to come over and say hello.

Not cat or small furry tested

Candy sleeps in the kitchen on her own.

Candy has recently found the joys of spending the day on sofa or in her bed in living the room. She is currently nervous about jumping off the sofa and will stand so she can be lifted down. She currently has no interest in the stairs or what is up them but this may change in time.

Candy has enjoyed being out walking on foster mums land on a long training leash as long as she has a squeaky toy in her mouth.

Candy can live with another dog or be an only dog with outside doggy friends for play dates. She certainly needs a person who will be patient and help her transition into being a much loved pet. She will then blossom into a loving active dog as she has lots of energy when playing in the garden with her squeaky ball but happy most other times to be curled up indoors

Chestnut D2022-173

  • Needs a resident dog
  • Not cat or small furry tested
  • Older dog savvy children
  • Loving and patient pawrents

Chestnut is a gorgeous 6 year old Cocker Spaniel described by her foster mum as an amazing little dog who will be a superb addition to any family. Currently she is a frightened and scared little girl who yearns to be loved but in the right home she is going to blossom into the dog she was always meant to be.

She has just started to take an interest in her humans and the other dogs in the household and has started to sniff hands and follow the resident dog and human around. Currently she will not take any food or treats from a hand but is getting braver every day. She’s not currently keen on dog treats as she doesn’t seem to understand what they are, but were sure that this will change.

Chestnut has been sleeping in a dog bed in a bedroom but has just started following the resident dogs onto the bed where she snuggled with her fur family and slept all night.

Chestnut eats and drinks well and is 90% toilet trained.

Currently she is not interested in any toys but this takes time and it will be a joy for her new parents to watch her begin this as she adjusts to her new way of living

Only been on a lead to go to the vets but not fussed.

She has not been cat or small furry tested.

She has only met one child briefly and was fine but they were dog savvy so we recommend older dag savvy children.

Chestnut needs a home with a resident dog who will show her the ropes and be her protector. A family who will give her time to adjust to being a much loved pet and any children need to be older and understand that she needs to make the first moves to being besties. She is a work in progress and any home is going to need to be patient with her and watch and she flourishes in front of you.

Hazel D2022-149

  • Resident dog
  • No children or older teenage children
  • Not cat tested
  • Patient parents

Hazel is a very young 4 year old small Mini Poodle described as a timid and shy girl when you first meet her but once she lets that guard down and learns to trust she is a real cuddle monster that likes to be close to her humans. Men are still a little scary when she first meets them but nothing slow introductions time and a few treats won’t solve.

Her new home must realise that slow introductions are a must or if pushed to soon she may snap out when she feels cornered or out of her depth.

Not cat or small furry tested

Toilet training is a work in progress and she rarely has accidents but she may go backwards when she moves to her forever home which is expected as she settles into her new life and surroundings.

Hazel hasn’t yet found the joy of toys but we don’t think it will belong as she has just found her feet doing zoomies around the house. She was very underweight when she arrived in foster but due to foster mums excellent care and attention she is now at a good weight and is enjoying her food.

Lead training is a work in progress and she has been wearing her harness and lead around the house to get her ready to meet the outside world. She hasn’t yet ventured out and this will come in time once she feels safe and secure with her family.

Hazel would prefer a home without children but said she would tolerate older teenage children who understands that she is a sensitive soul and wont force her to engage.

Hazel needs a home with a confident dog to show her the ropes. Patient and understanding parents who will help her overcome her fear of men and understand that she is a work in progress but is ready and brave enough to take the next steps in her life as a much loved pet and rescue ambassador.

Elijah D2022-147

  • Needs a resident dog
  • Not cat tested
  • Older dog savvy children
  • Patient parents

Elijah is an 8 year old schnauzer described by his foster mum as a shy little man who is starting to come out of his shell. He will allow some petting but at the moment it is on his terms and will move off if he thinks it’s too much.

Veterinary history to be discussed with potential adopters.

He is getting better on the lead round the garden or to the vets but can be a little wary with noises in the outside world.

He loves his food but as yet is not sure what to do with treats.

He enjoys playing with his foster siblings

He was even good in the groomers when the dryer was being used.

He was shy around the neighbour’s children (6 & 11) but again allowed them to cuddle him under supervision.

Housetraining is a work in process so pads are being used at night and he is happy to go in the garden during the day.

Elijah needs a home with a resident dog to learn from. He could live with older dog savvy children. He is not cat tested. He needs patient parents who can help him fulfil his potential.

Ariel C2022-30

  • Can live with other cats
  • Can live with cat savvy dogs
  • Good with cat savvy children over 5
  • Very playful
  • Loving home for cwtches

Ariel is a beautiful 2 year old domestic shorthair described by her foster mum as a cat who deserves lots of love, care and attention. She has bewitching eyes and a full glossy coat. She is known at the vets by a very special acronym; SEA – Serious Escape Artist! The vets were somewhat disconcerted to find Ariel had actually unlocked her cage whilst awaiting her spay and was conducting her own tour of the unit. This was after shredding the notes attached to the outside of her cage, presumably she’d disagreed with something they’d written about her. Ariel is adept at opening internal doors so no need to worry about acting as doorman. She is a true character.

Ariel is very affectionate but will equally sleep and dream content with her own company. She enjoys the company of children and foster mums granddaughters are 5 and 6 and she’s loved their attention, playing and being loving.

Ariel is friendly towards other cats except the grumpy ones and has no problem with the cat experienced Border Collie

Ariel has an inquisitive nature and after 3 litters of kittens it’s her turn to be lavished with the love and attention that she showered on her babies. Because of her previous experiences Ariel will try and help herself to human food but does this in the politest way by putting her paw first. But she’s now learning that cat food is equally tasty and plentiful. She loves to bask in the sunlight, soaking up sun rays whilst reclining on a comfortable bed or window sill. She hasn’t been exploring outdoors as she’s on foster but after a period of adjustment we are sure she would like to be able to go outside.

Ariel would love a warm, sunny and loving home perhaps with another cat or two. She would love someone who would play games of ball or twitching feathers. She really is the most delightful cat.

Fern D2022-159

  • Needs a resident dog
  • Older dog savvy children
  • Can live with dog savvy cats
  • Patient owners who will help her adjust

Fern is a 7 year old Bichon described by her foster mum as a small girl at around 7kg. She is gentle and calm and can easily be frightened by loud noises or sudden changes in the household. She is the sweetest girl who is loving home comforts with snuggly warm blankets and bouncy fluffy dog beds to curl up in and snooze away the hours. She loves the company of her human who feeds her yummy food and gives in to those bichon eyes and will feed her small treats.

Veterinary history to be discussed

Fern is still a little nervous around strangers but is improving all the time. She will cautiously move towards people for a sniff then back off to make a decision.

Fern has met local children in the park and was okay whilst they were quiet but became a little shaky when noise levels went up. We would recommend that she is homed with older dog savvy children of 10 and over or could even live in a child free home.

Fern lives with an elderly rescue cat and has no issues with him. She hasn’t met any other small furry animals. She has not met any dog outside her foster home except at the vets where she just watched but didn’t approach them.

Fern is quite relaxed in her foster home and has claimed one of her foster buddy bichons to cuddle up to and show her that the world is not a scary place and if you look all cute and give those bichon eyes you will get treats, it’s fool proof really and she’s learnt it very quickly.

Fern likes to snooze on the sofa with her buddy once she’s had her treats. At night she likes to cuddle up on her foster mums bed and will sleep soundly all night. She will expect this to continue so if you don’t like dogs on your bed Fern isn’t for you as she loves the company of her human and feels safe when near and will look to you for reassurance.

Toilet trying is going really well and Fern is 95% there but you must expect that she may have a few accidents in your home until she is sure of her way around, following the resident dog will show her where she needs to go and she is a quick learner.

Fern has been on short walks to the local park near her foster home She is eager to go out when she sees her doggy buddies getting ready and doesn’t mind having her harness on. She is however still nervous of the outside world so will need gentle encouragement and patience and have a slow build up to longer walks and new places to visit.

Fern would like a home with people around for most of the day although she has been left for a few hours with her dog buddies. She will need a resident dog around the same size to keep her company and that she can learn from. A child free home or children of 10 and older who will know that she needs gentle calm handling. Young visiting children will need to be reminded that Fern is a gentle fur baby who needs gentle handling. A quieter home would be best as she is a quiet gentle little girl although if frightened, she has quite a deep bark for such a little one.  She will need small frequent walks to help her gain confidence in the big wide world and be allowed to snooze on the sofa and cuddle up to you on your bed at night time.

Maize D2022-158

  • Can be an only dog or live with resident dogs
  • Can live with cats
  • No children
  • Patient parents as she’s a work in progress.

Maize is a 7year old ex breeding female Yorkshire terrier described by her foster mum as a very shy and timid little dog who takes time to trust. When she does trust you she will follow you everywhere just to make sure your still there to look after her. She is the most gentle soul and has been an absolute pleasure to foster.

Veterinary history will be discussed with any potential adopters

Maize takes time to trust and is unsure of men but if approached with a calm kind voice and of course a cocktail sausage she will go to them when she is happy.

Maize would like a quiet home with no children.

Maize currently lives with the resident cat and pays absolutely no interest what so ever, so could be re- homed with a cat that doesn’t mind sharing the home with her

Maize currently sleeps on the bed with her foster mam and sleeps all night with no accidents. She also likes her own space where she can go and relax on her own so she has her own little comfy dog cage filled with a soft dog box and blankets but prefers to jump on top of the cage so she can watch what’s going on. Her most favourite thing to do is pinch your spot on the sofa and snuggle on a soft blanket next to you watching TV. She’s amazed by the TV and loves the soaps.

Due to Maize not being fully vaccinated she has been unable to be lead tested so this will need to be worked on. She has had a harness on and is fine with it.

Maize would like a quiet calm home where her new family would give her the time, patience and love she needs to come out of her shell and start enjoying life. She would like someone home most of the day to bond and cuddle. She is a high flight risk so a secure garden is an absolute must. She needs to be in a home where she will be allowed on the sofa for cuddles and to watch the tv. So, if you need a sofa friend she is the girl for you. She would like a soft warm comfy bed with lots of nice soft blankets to snuggle in. She can be re homed with another older calm dog or on her own. You would need to teach her how to play with toys as she’s never seen them and doesn’t know how to play, but she will given time and patience.

Boyce D2022-121

Merhaba

My name is Boyce. Please be patient with me and take time to read about me. Once I know you I will be your bestest friend. I like to spend most of my day sleeping in my open crate on my doughnut bed. I do not chew or damage anything. I’m not bothered about a ball or toys, just give me food and love. I adore being fussed. Ok

I am house trained and have learnt to use a large cat flap. Now the sun has come out I like nothing more than to lie outside basking in it.

I walk really nicely on a short lead. I have enjoyed going to a secure field and having the freedom to explore and run. I like to eat most things, but not carrots or apples. I love peanut butter, best thing in my Kong. I enjoy enrichment time, Licky mats and rummage box or just hiding treats for me to find.

Foster mum says I have to tell you about the other bits to my personality. You see I had a difficult start to life, living on the streets in Turkey and breaking my leg. I still have four legs but one of them is a bit wonky this doesn’t slow me down mind. I am frightened on meeting new people, and show this by barking especially if the new people come into my home. I barked like crazy at my foster mum when I first met her, she brought me home, took me for a walk, gave me some food and I decided oh she’s alright. So it won’t be love at first sight, well at least for me. So please do not worry if I act like I hate you initially, that’s just me. Foster mum has advice about how we should first meet so don’t worry she will hold our paws on my journey in my forever home.

A behaviourist has recommended that I am an only dog in the home as I sometimes struggle with other dogs. I just don’t need that extra stress in my life. Out and about I might bark initially as another dog approaches, but I seem to be ok once they are next to me and often will try and make friends. I tend to ignore their humans outside as long as they ignore me.

My ideal home would be a calm quiet one with routines that I can learn. I need minimal stimuli and would love to live in the countryside where there is not much traffic or people passing by. I find visitors in the home really stressful unless they are going to be regular and I can get to know them. I will always need access to my crate to support me.

I like a nice walk to familiar places but do not need loads of exercise and please avoid too many busy places. The behaviour specialist has some top tips on how to welcome me and make me feel safe, and you will have loads of back up from my amazing team.

Foster mum has tried to measure me to help with judging my size as the pictures don’t do me justice. My neck to tail height is 48cm. Head to tail height 60cm. Neck to tail length48. So are you tempted…… please give me a chance. Get it right and I am actually minimal maintenance, short walk and some treats is about it. I just want to lay my hat down and have my forever home. I could even live with older children who will understand I needs a quiet life.

Esmeralda D2022- 134

Can you help a frightened soul navigate her way into this brave new world she has entered?

Esme is a 5yr old miniature schnauzer, who has been used and abused as a breeding dog for all of her short life. She has not known human kindness, and is therefore frightened by most interaction and finds it difficult to trust people. She does however adore other dogs, and loves to be with her foster sisters. She is feisty with other dogs, and can even be bossy – all typical traits of a schnauzer – we need to see this same feistiness when she is around humans! We will need the right person to help her personality shine through as their bond begins to grow – this could take several months.

Esme is not a dog suitable for a busy household with multiple occupants. She need a quiet home, with few visitors and absolutely no children. Children move quickly and are unpredictable; Esme is too scared to cope with that, and she could bite if startled. Esme needs a really calm home, where her humans will respect her initial need for space. She is intrigued by how the other dogs in the house seek out human contact – and sometimes she will come for stroking. Given plenty of time and the freedom to choose when she interacts, we believe she will adapt into a loyal companion. She is a dog desperate to be loved.

At the moment, because Esme is scared, she paces and pants quite a lot. This is a sign of stress so it’s important that her new owners are aware of this, and just allow her to slowly adjust. Loud household noises scare her – normal noises to us, but to her they are scary and she will bark. If you move too quickly she will bark and run at you – simply through fear; remember that humans haven’t been kind to her – but as she learns to trust and gains confidence, this behaviour will change. Carrying on as normal in the home, letting her decompress by watching and learning that nothing bad happens, is the best way to help her. She will come to you when she’s ready, until then give her space.

Esme sleeps downstairs with her foster sisters. She is mostly housetrained and will let her foster mum know if she needs to go out. At the moment she needs to go out twice during the night, this will settle as she adjusts to regular meal times and quality food. Esme will tolerate her harness being put on, but once a lead is attached and used to guide her, she freezes. This is work in progress, it will need practice in the garden and will improve over time. She is happy to go out and about in a buggy in the meantime, watching the world go by, but safe inside.

Esmeralda will need an experienced home to help her continue her journey at her own pace. She needs at least one, confident companion dog, but they need to be the right fight. She had to be feisty to survive in the puppy-farm, so will need love and patience to show her it’s ok and to let her guard down. She loves food and treats and will tell you when its dinner time. She is desperate to be loved and needs a very caring and understanding home. She needs a completely secure garden as she will figure out escape routes when she first comes into a new home. The need for baby gates is also recommended so she cannot run from room to room, a smaller area is better whilst a frightened dog adjusts.

Do you have time, patience and enough love to teach this beautiful dog that human contact can be joyful?

Please say yes to this darling dog who deserves so much better than what she has known so far. She is special – her new family must be too.

Lara Cat C2022-06

  • Needs to be an only cat
  • No dogs or children
  • Nervous cat due to a traumatic past
  • All female household
  • Patient and loving owners.

Lara is a 6 year old domestic shorthair that has had a very traumatic life. She was badly injured by someone she trusted and the vets thought she would never recover but our girl is a fighter and is now healthy and looking for an all-female home where she can spend her days being treated as a much loved pet.

Vet history will be discussed with potential adopters.

Lara is a very loving girl and has the potential to be the most loyal, loving and attentive companion. She will need time to get to know her new home and may well blossom further if able to enjoy access to a secure outdoor space or catio. She will need time to decompress in new surroundings and given time to trust again.

Lara would prefer a female household without children or other cats or dogs which she would find too stressful.

Lara enjoys her own company and will love nothing more than watching the world go by especially if it involves warm sunshine. A window sill or comfortable bed is ideal. She likes to assist with household chores and has been inquisitively assisting with writing, using a phone, dusting and paperwork.

Lara eats well especially moist food. Dreamies are expected whenever her foster mother returns home and a treat at bedtime is demanded. She is still playful at heart and will spend time playing catch or chase with balls or fluttering feathery things

Lara enjoys a good natter and will engage in a two way conversation given the chance. Her routine includes an afternoon nap on the bed or sofa with her foster mother. This allows her to play hairdressers with foster mum, kneading and playing with her hair. There’s also often the option of an Indian head massage by paw. She will pad her claws with a gentle request.

Patch Cat C2022-23

  • Could live with another placid cat
  • Cat savvy children
  • Loves to play
  • Loves to cuddle

Patch is a 4 and a half year old domestic shorthair described by his foster mum as a high energy cat having bouts of the zoomies through the day and night. He enjoys playing particularly chasing balls around the room, jumping in and out of boxes, and a “catch the tail” toy. He loves to be up high and watch what is going on.

He is very food motivated, and has been introduced to puzzle feeders as he has strong inclinations to scavenge. He begs but is very polite about it, sitting at his fosterer’s feet with wide sad eyes.

He is a lovely cat who always greets you when you get home, and loves to curl up on or next to his fosterers, purring immediately when stroked. He will tolerate being picked up and carried for short periods.
Patch is very interested in daily household activities, often participating by supervising. He doesn’t like there to be a closed door between him and whatever is going on.

Patch has expressed a keen interest in going outside and his previous owner advised that he would often try to be outside. He has always been kept as an indoor cat so would probably be best somewhere with a secure garden or catio rather than being allowed to free roam.

 Vanellope D2022-128

  • Needs a resident dog of a similar size
  • Older dog savvy children
  • Not cat or small furry tested
  • A work in progress but desperate to be loved

Vanellope is a 4 year old Schnauzer described by her foster mum as a scared little girl who is desperate to love. Being in a home is all new to her and she has taken it all in her stride. She took a few days to have a look around and find the best places to sit and watch and snuggle but has settled well.

Her personal space is very important to her and she will need a space in her forever home from where she can watch to assess things when she is unsure. She’s not bothered by sudden bangs or noise in general and just carries on with whatever she was doing before. She loves to lie under the kitchen table and watch all that is going on. She is rather fond of her donut bed. Her foster parents have never seen any aggression and she is gentle taking treats.

Vanellope sadly lost a front leg due to a freak accident in her foster home but has healed incredibly quickly and the vets have given her the all clear to be adopted.

She has met children and there have been no issues however we would recommend children aged 9 and above.

She is not cat or small furry tested

She has not had any accidents in the home but has had access to the outside through a ‘large cat flap’. She will happily go in and out of this. If none is available, she will need to be let out to toilet.

Lead training is a work in progress and she is doing well so far. She loves being out and about in a secure field and will given sudden squeals of excitement when walking.

Vanellope will need a very understanding and patient home with another dog of a similar size. She so wants to be just like the other dogs in her home and is learning to trust humans by watching and learning from the others. She loves her treats and is learning quickly.

NEED TO BE REHOMED TOGETHER

OLDER CAT SAVVY CHILDREN

UNKNOWN HOW THEY ARE WITH DOGS

POTENTIAL ADOPTERS MUST BE WILLING TO TRAVEL TO MEET THE CATS IN THEIR FOSTER HOME

£130 MINIMUM ADOPTION FEE FOR THE PAIR

Minty is a gorgeous 18 month old tabby. His favourite thing in the world is play fighting with his brother Marley with the occasional nap thrown in. He has loads of energy and sometimes slows down to investigate anything he could possibly play with but is soon off again running and jumping. He’s very affectionate and loves to have a fuss made of him. He needs a family (older children only) who have lots of space for him to run around and time to spend with him. He’s not backward in coming forward as they say and will approach anyone for a fuss.

Marley is a beautiful black boy who although slightly more cautious than Minty still has a lot of energy to play and jump on his brother when he’s least expecting it. He looks up to him and needs him for security as they’ve been through a lot together. Marley is very affectionate too and has a slightly gentler more sensitive side to him that you can see occasionally. It takes him slightly longer than Minty to warm to someone he doesn’t know but doesn’t take him long to get used to people.

These handsome brothers have wonderful purry motors that are always in overdrive and need lots of attention to satisfy. They will make wonderful entertaining pets in the right home who will understand their boisterous teenage ways and help them mature into more settled adults.

Buddy D2022-143

  • Would like to live with a female dog
  • Not cat or small furry tested
  • Dog savvy children
  • Adores people and cuddling

Buddy is a 6 year old Chi cross Pomeranian described by his foster mum as a darling boy who loves laps, adult or children he’s not fussy! He’s a good boy who comes when called eats all his grub and generally is no trouble at all.

When foster mum comes home after leaving him with his foster fur family for any amount of time he runs around making a little squealing noise with his lips pulled back. He is just so delighted to see his foster mum again.

Buddy growls when you pick him up or move him, it’s not a nasty growl just seems to be more of a habit as if to say leave me alone I was comfy. His previous owner said he’s always done it. Just a Chihuahua idiosyncrasy !!

Buddy loves all people and even children. He has been with young and older children and has been a good boy. We just recommend dog savvy children who will understand his talking and not be worried or harm Buddy in any way.

Not cat or small furry tested

Buddy is good in the home. Not destructive and all he wants is cuddles food a good sniff around the garden. Foster mum has to be careful she doesn’t forget he’s out in the garden at night as he just loves being out there sniffing for ages.

He has not been walked a lot but when he has, he has been great on the lead. He has also been great in the car enjoying sitting in his harness to look out the window of the car. His previous owner said that he can be barky when on lead when meeting other dogs.

Buddy would like a home with a female dog for companion an active home or one with a large garden as he loves a good sniff around. Apart from that he just wants humans of any age to love him.

Calypso D2022-145

  • Sensible older children
  • Resident dog
  • Someone home majority of the time
  • Dog savvy children
  • Not cat tested

Hi my names Calypso and I’m a 4 year old ex breeder.

My foster mum calls me her special princess Cally and I really love that name. Since I’ve been in foster I feel just like a princess so I think that name definitely fits. So from hence forth I would like to be known as Princess Cally.

I’m just so so happy being here in foster. I get a warm feeling inside especially when I’m cuddled up to the humans in the house. When it’s bed time, sometimes I like to sleep right on top of foster mums’ pillow but I always wait till she drops off to sleep before I make my move. I like to be close to my humans always, whether that’s following them around the house, or snuggled on their lap, they make me feel safe.

I adore everyone even children as long as they aren’t too loud. I like to sit in the window and watch when my foster family go out and they can’t take me with them. I give out a little cry and do my best sad face as I sit in the window watching them leave. They always promise me they won’t be long and they never are. When they return, I give them excited wags of my tail and lots of licky kisses on their faces so they know I am really happy again.

Living here is fantastic I get fed everyday twice a day and I adore my food so much. My tummy always feels full now but I will still try to pinch foster mums’ food if she’s not careful I just can’t help myself.

Foster mummy takes me outside on a lead and I get so excited to be out in the fresh air and free. I’m so happy I give out a little cry. I love love love being outside exploring the world and need this to continue when I go to my forever home that she keeps telling me about. I love everyone and anyone’s lap is a bonus but I do tend to bond quickly as I can’t help the warm feeling I get when someone lets me sit on their lap to cuddle and even better if they let me wash their face with lots of licks.

Oh one more thing guess what ? I’ve even learnt to do my business on the green fluffy stuff out the garden now with the other dogs in the house I watched them do it and now I do it because every time I do I get a doggie treat and I loveeeeeeee doggie treats.

Is there really a forever home out there for me?

Could I be your princess Cally?

My foster mummy said there is a perfect home out there, so I’ll just snuggle up here for now and wait x

Can’t wait to meet you.

Princess D2022-96

  • Needs to live with a confident dog
  • Not cat or small furry tested
  • Older dog savvy children
  • Patient owners

Princess is a 5 year old King Charles Cavalier described by her foster mum as a very shy and nervous little girl who has the makings of a devoted companion once she feels secure and unthreatened in her surroundings. She has made great strides in allowing humans to stroke her gently and will quietly climb on chairs when no one is looking. She can be a real diva when it comes to food and looses all inhibitions to remind foster Mum it’s feed time or snack time. She is very partial to sharing a packet of crisps with foster Mum and instantly recognises that crinkle of a packet !!

Princess seems to be more comfortable in the company of males rather than females but this is being worked on. Any males in the household just need to be aware of her insecurities and allow her more time to relax and feel safe.

Veterinary history to be discussed with potential adopters

Princess can feel intimidated by other people whilst out and about and so we ask people she doesn’t know to approach slowly and ignore her. With people we know we ask they also approach slowly wait till princess shows a bit of interest in them and then offer her a treat which helps her think of people in a positive way.

In the home Princess is far more confident and is very amenable to friends giving her attention. She also enjoys the company of other dogs visiting or staying over.

Princess can live with older dog savvy children

Not cat or small furry tested

Princess house training is ongoing and she is almost there. Initially she was sleeping upstairs with foster Mum but now sleeps in her bed downstairs with the resident dog and sleeps soundly all through the night. She has been left for short periods with the resident dog and copes well

Princess loves her walks and enjoys exploring the outside world with the resident dog for confidence. She walks well on the lead and follows her big brother closely. She has good recall and runs freely with the resident dog on a long training line.

Princess has become attached to the resident dog so will need a family that will give her time to form a new bond with a new role model and be prepared for a time of separation anxiety. She will need a calm well-adjusted dog as a house mate.
She is best placed in a household where she can develop her confidence with understanding owners.
