Yesterday three of our ex puppyfarm dogs were invited to number 10 Downing Street accompanied by our Founder and Rescue Coordinator Eileen Jones to celebrate the Lucys Law campaign of which we have been a part. Official photos will be released in a few days but here’s a taste of the day. The dogs were total stars and were even allowed to park in Downing Street. A great day with exciting news on the way.
Special mention must be given to the wonderful police officers, No 10 staff and the caterers for making the dogs and Eileen so very welcome and doing everything they could to ensure the dogs were happy and comfortable in what was for them a very ‘different’ environment.
Doreen and Margaret are two lovely ex-puppy farm ladies aged 6 years who are looking for a home together. They are six years old and are being fostered in RCT, South Wales. Doreen has had some medical issues that will need monitoring so she will be a long-term foster where FOAW will meet all the non-routine vets costs and medication. ‘Adopters’ will be responsible for regular costs such as vaccinations, worming (and grooming!) Margaret is healthy so will be adopted in the conventional way.
Initially Doreen is the most inquisitive but once Margaret knows you she often ventures into the living room for a cuddle. They both love their treats and will never fail to make you smile. They currently live in a bungalow if foster mum is in the bedroom Margaret sticks her head through the window to watch what she’s doing or if there’s any food on offer. Doreen loves to be outside and has just started to show signs of play although as soon as she knows she is being watched she stops
People – Due to their past these two ladies can be wary of people when they first meet but are quick to trust and love the company of humans. Children will need to be older and savvy as to the needs of these girls. Doreen and Margaret will come to you for a fuss and are happy to be stroked all over. They are quite independent though and are happy to do their own thing. Both enjoy a brush
Dogs – They live with other dogs in their foster home but seem indifferent preferring each others company
Cats – No cats please
In the home – Doreen and Margaret need a quiet home with access to a garden which is their preferred relaxing spot when it’s not raining. They are house trained but if they do not have access to outside they will not wait at this stage. Still a bit of work to do. They can be left and, other than the odd exploding dog bed, they are well behaved and happy. They are not keen on loud noises associated with housework and will prefer to avoid them.
Out and about – Walking and the great outside world are new to Doreen and Margaret so walks should begin with short forays. They enjoy walking together but, as they are strong girls, two adults may be better.
Type of home – These beautiful girls would like a home with a garden where they can potter. Part time workers would be fine as they are happy to be left together for short periods. No small children but sensible older children would be fine. They really just need a kind home where they can learn about being a pet and be spoilt and showered with love.
Doreen and Margaret are neutered, chipped, vaccinated and up to date with their flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet them in their foster home in Rhondda, South Wales

Can I live with other dogs?: Yes, another companion is a must
Fostered In: Rhondda, South Wales
Lili is an ex-breeding bitch who has had a rotten start to life but is now showing signs of turning into a loving, happy companion. Although a little shy at first, Lili craves attention and will “wave” at you if she feels you are not pulling your weight. She will follow you around always keeping you in sight and will be a quiet but faithful addition to a family.
People – Lili is happy around people although she can be a little shy at first. Lots of noise and activity will frighten her although she does love to play on her terms.
Dogs – Lili is happy around other dogs and has no aggressive tendencies at all. She is not keen on small vocal dogs and puppies may annoy her after a while.
Cats – Not tested
In the home – Lili is now house trained although you should expect the odd accident as she learns. She can get up and down stairs and will happily jump on the bed and sleep between the pillows. She is not keen on loud household appliances but this is purely because she hasn’t been used to them.
Out and about – Lili loves being out but does not like the restriction of a lead. We find a harness is better. She is happy enough in a car but can be a little car sick.
Type of home – Lili needs a home where she can be the centre of attention and will treat her like the little princess she is. She is not keen on being left at home and prefers 24/7 human company. Older children will be fine and may be a welcome occupation for her.
Lili is neutered, chipped, vaccinated and up to date with her flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet her in her foster home in Rhondda, South Wales.
Can I live with other dogs?: Yes, another dog is a must.

George is a delightful, playful but full on puppy with a wonderful temperament. He loves to play and is full of mischief and will play constantly until his battery goes flat. He will sit to command and will be easily trained.
People – George loves people of all shapes and sizes and sees them as either a thing to cuddle or play with. He shows no mouthing inclinations and doesn’t seem too interested in toys preferring to play with the other dogs.
Dogs – George loves other dogs although he will try and dominate older males so he will be better with another young dog around his age.
Cats – Not tested
In the home – George sees the home as one big playground. Although housetrained, he may mark in a new home. He can be left with another dog for short periods but does enjoy human company.
Out and about – George loves being out and about. He is very curious about the world at large. He loves meeting new people and is relatively obedient for a puppy.
Type of home – George needs an active home with a good balance of action and cuddles. He loves to cuddle and kiss and would be great around children.
George is neutered, chipped, vaccinated and up to date with his flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet him in his foster home in Rhondda, South Wales
Can I live with other dogs?: Yes, another dog is a must.

Skye is a delightful, quiet puppy with a wonderful temperament. She loves to play but when the shenanigans get a bit too rough, she retreats for cuddles with her human.
People – Skye loves people and is happiest playing with her human and cuddling.
Dogs – Skye loves other dogs and has lived with her brother for her short life. She will cuddle up another dog and does follow her companions lead.
Cats – Not tested
In the home – Skye is still learning all about the correct way to toilet. She is a quiet, polite eater and loves her food. She can be left with a companion for short periods but all puppies prefer human interaction and she is no different.
Out and about – Skye is new to the big wide world and she is a bit nervous of outside sounds. A harness is the best bet for short walks.
Type of home – Skye needs an active home with a good balance of stimulation and cuddles. Her adopters will need to understand that she is a puppy with huge potential and is as cute as a button.
Skye is neutered, chipped, vaccinated and up to date with her flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet her in her foster home in Rhondda, South Wales
We are #SorrynotSorry for all the posts tonight about the fantastic show of solidarity for #LucysLaw in Wales today.
Our founder Eileen Jones made a pledge many years ago to never say “no” to a puppy farm dog.
Hundreds of dogs later and she has kept to her word.
Every broken, neglected, overbred, unloved dog comes to our rescue is given love, care and the chance to live the life every dog deserves.
The cost, emotionally and financially, has been massive.
But every former puppy farm dog now living a life of love and comfort makes it all worth it.
Throughout the years we have prayed for a movement such as this and were delighted when @Rctcouncil became the first local authority in Wales to support Lucy’s Law.
More and more Welsh councils are now following suit and today our amazing volunteers and fosterers went to Senedd to continue the campaign.
Thank you all.
Name: Bubbles Age: c.4 years old Breed: Labrador cross Can I live with Children: Older children only Can I live with cats: No, will chase Can I live with other dogs: No Fostered In: Hengoed, South Wales Bubbles is about 4 years old and is a Labrador cross girlie. She is being fostered near Hengoed in South Wales and is looking for a home where she is an only dog.People – Bubbles needs time to develop trust with her humans but once she knows you she loves cuddles and attention. She is unsure of strange people though and introductions must be on her terms as she will growl out of fear. Don’t let this put you off though as she adores her humans. She loves to cuddle up on the sofa and will be a faithful companion given the chance.Dogs – Bubbles doesn’t like other dogs very much so care must be taken while out on walks. She would benefit from further ‘controlled’ socialisation to help her realise there is nothing to fear. Bubbles will only be rehomed as an only dog.Cats – Bubbles will chase cats and will not be rehomed with one.In the home – Bubbles is fine in the home. She has been left for up to five hours at a time and has been fine. She will need careful introductions with visitors to the house as will growl if unsure but with a firm ‘no’ and respectful visitors she is fine. At night she sleeps on her bed in the kitchen but does love to cuddle up to her humans on the sofa during the evening.Out and about – Bubbles does pull on the lead and currently uses a harness to reduce this. It also helps when passing other dogs as she will growl at them. She is a fast learner though and in the few weeks she has been in her foster home her foster family have noticed a change in her lead walking, so this training should be continued in her new home.Type of home – This lovely lady does adore her humans so would prefer them to be around for most of the day. She can live with older, sensible children but can’t live with other dogs or cats. She will need continued training and socialisation and firm boundaries. She listens well and is very quick to learn so a home that is willing to work with her and her issues is a must.Bubbles is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and up to date with her flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to visit Bubbles in her foster home in Hengoed, South Wales.

Name: Aslan Age: Approx 3 years Breed: Labrador X Can I live with Children: Yes, older Can I live with cats: No Can I live with other dogs: No Fostered In: Rhondda, South Wales
Aslan is a three-year-old, tri-pawed Labrador X who is being fostered in South Wales. He has had a difficult start to life and has learned to survive on his own wits. This means that he has developed some traits that he will need help in leaving behind with his past. So many endearing qualities about Aslan. He loves being out in the garden and will happily spend hours just laying around but the door has to be open so he knows you are about.
People – Aslan loves humans and men in particular. He is fine with children and seems to enjoy the attention of all shapes and sizes. Once he knows you-you will have the waggiest greeting from him. He also likes nothing better than a good groom from his favourite human, although did nip the dog groomer recently while she was trimming his nails. Aslan will only be rehomed with older children due to his issues around food.
Dogs – Aslan is fostered as an only dog but seems indifferent to other dogs when out for his walks. He does get annoyed by small and although sociable, we feel he would be better as an only dog.
Cats – Aslan will not be rehomed with cats.
In the home –Aslan loves to bark at the ice-cream van. As a former street dog food is an issue with him. He gulps his food, despite having an anti-gulp bowl which he has learned to tip over. At first, hand feeding him was risky but he does take food out of hand a little slower now. Aslan is happy to be left but things must be stored out of reach. Aslan will empty bins looking for food. He will take children’s toys to chew if left lying around and he will reach up onto kitchen units and pull down anything he can reach. He enjoys a game of catch with a ball and loves to tug on a rope toy.
Out and about – Aslan does not like getting in the car but, once in, travels well although he pants a lot. He is good on a lead when he wants to walk but can be really stubborn and refuse to move even though no aggression is shown. Despite only having three legs he is incredibly strong and runs like the wind. Because Aslan only has three legs it is very important that he gets regular exercise and is not allowed to become overweight. Given the choice, he would prefer to laze around!!
Type of home – Aslan deserves company and would be perfect for someone that is home a lot. He will need a large garden where he can play ball as he loves being outdoors. As he only has three legs he does like to rest a lot. His new home doesn’t need to be overly active but short, regular walks and games in the garden would be perfect for him.
Aslan is neutered, chipped, vaccinated and up to date with his flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet him in his foster home in Rhondda, South Wales.
If you are interested in adopting Aslan please read about our rehoming process and complete a Pre-Adoption form (link below) and one of our adoption coordinators will contact you for a chat
Handsome Wayne is now ready for his forever home. He has been in foster for a few weeks having his jabs, chip and being assessed by his foster family who describe him as the perfect house guest. The vet assessed him as being around 2 years old. Wayne can be a little reserved as he assesses his surroundings and new slaves but has come out of his shell and is gaining in confidence daily. He has turned into a right cuddle monster and absolutely adores human company. His foster mum says “He is always curious and is often found sneaking around new places/objects. He is very well behaved with feeding and litter training and would fit into a home after a period of adjustment”.
So it’s true – the best things really do come in small packages….
We are having to pry the petit but adorable Bach from his fosterer’s arms to put him up for adoption because everyone who meets this special boy falls instantly in love, and she is no exception. However, Bach’s now ready to find his forever home with another special human and a female bun to bond with, as he knows he needs to free up our wonderful foster mum to care for another rescue rabbit.
Bach appeared in our lives a few months ago as a stray. He is a friendly fella – running to greet everyone and, unlike most rabbits, he enjoys an occasional cuddle. His favourite pastime is spending time in the garden and, as you can see from the video on his Facebook post, he’s a pretty nifty mover and quite the gardener! All this energy makes him a good eater and he loves hay, grass, kale and broccoli.
There aren’t many guarantees in this life, but we’re pretty willing to put a hefty bet that the lucky person who adopts Bach will fall totally under the spell of this little charmer as he’s not only beautiful – we think he is a Siamese Sable – he also has the perfect fun and loving bunny character.
Bach is neutered and fully vaccinated (both vaccines) so is looking for his forever home with a NEUTERED, VACCINATED female. FOAW is happy to help and give advice on the bonding process.
If you think are able to give Bach the perfect forever home he deserves, please fill in the adoption link below. Please remember that he’s only looking for a home where he can be bonded with a neutered and vaccinated female rabbit:
Winter is 11 months old and due to a change in circumstances beyond her owners control she needs to find a new forever family. Winter is beautiful, cheeky, playful and full of affection. She is dog and cat friendly and loves people old and young. She has been extremely loved and is quite perfect! She is a nosy parker and loves to look out of the window. She likes nothing better than to sleeps on her foster mums pillow next to her head and purrrrr. She has the most long slinky legs and a tail made for the catwalk! She is very elegant but full of character!
This gorgeous tortie lady is called PEPSI. Our vets think she is around 2 years old and is a super young lady. She loves people and will choose to sit on your lap all day long and be fussed. She’s just perfect and loves nothing more than to cuddle, play, eat and sleep and she’s old enough to know not to climb the curtain. She likes to bond so much with her human that she doesn’t like to share so will have to be an only cat and she hasn’t been dog tested. Pepsi would like a home with older cat savvy children who she can play with but will understand when she wants to stop and go look out the window at the birds. After a period of adjustment Pepsi would like to be allowed to go outside so she can fetch you nice presents. If you are interested in our gorgeous young lady please complete the following form.

This lovely young lady is LOLA she is only three years old and has been described by her foster mum as the perfect house guest. She came to us as a poorly stray and our vets found that she had a kidney problem which was removed and she is now fully recovered. The vets said they are not expecting any further problems and cats cope very well with one. However when LOLA is adopted we would cover vet bills for any future kidney issues.

If you are interested in long term fostering Perry please read about our rehoming process and complete a Pre-Adoption form (link below) and one of our adoption coordinators will contact you for a chat.
Name: Perry
Age: 7/8 years old
Breed: Cavalier King Charles Spaniel
Can I live with Children: Yes
Can I live with cats: Not tested
Can I live with other dogs: Yes, a must
Fostered In: RCT
Perry is a wonderful, well mannered gentleman who has had a rotten start in life. He was a puppy farm stud dog and he came to us in a dreadful state. Glad to say he is well on the mend now although his ears will need ongoing attention with our vets. Perry is looking for a long-term foster home where FOAW will cover all of this non-routine vets fees.
Perry is a delightful boy who’s personality is really starting to show through. He loves his grub, he loves his humans and he is really starting to enjoy his walks.
People – Perry loves everyone although he is more used to being around adults he doesn’t have a bad bone in his body. He will approach anyone and is happy to be touched and cuddled.
Dogs – Perry loves doggy company and he will need at least one other brother or sister for company and to help him with his transition in to pet hood.
Cats – Perry has not lived with a cat but seems indifferent to them when he sees them.
In the home – Perry sleeps on his humans bed, is housetrained and spends most of his day sleeping as befits a gentleman of his status. He loves his food but, with only one decent tooth in his head, he likes to take his time. Perry can be left for short periods but he is very human dependent now and can fret if the absence is to often or prolonged
Out and about – Perry prefers to walk off lead but will walk with a harness in preference to a collar. He can be let off lead in parks and fields as he will not stray far from his human.
Type of home – Perry needs a long term foster home with someone who is present most of the time and understands his limitations. His ears need constant attention and he will need frequent visits to our vets in South Wales. For this reason, potential homes will need to be in the South Wales area.
Perry is neutered, chipped, vaccinated and up to date with his flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet him in his foster home in Rhondda Cynon Taff
Anna is a fun independent personality who is a pleasure to be around. She is a born adventurer and if you are looking for a spider hunter then look no further! Her favourite hobbies and chasing balls, bells ribbons and her absolute favourite – flies!
Anna adores playing with her foster siblings and especially loves chasing her sister Nia around. Anna can be a little bossy at times and so she is better suited to more submissive cats. She is also dog friendly.
Adoption fee is £50 for one cat or £90 for two. All our cats are spayed/neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated and come with a full health check.
Tippy our cheeky young chappy is only around 1 year old. We were asked to help him after a relationship breakdown and he is settling in well to his new Foster Home.
If you are looking for a sociable young cat with bags of personality then look no further. Tippy has obviously been used to being the boss in his previous home, and he likes to be the boss with his Foster siblings. Luckily, the other cats in the house are calm in nature and just roll their eyes at him – however he would not be suitable to be rehomed with other dominant cats. Tippy needs to be rehomed either alone or with calm natured cats. He hasn’t been dog tested.
Tippy’s Foster Mother describes him as a bundle of fun. He adores attention and he’s the first at the door when she wakes up looking for attention. As soon as she sits down he is nearby looking for a fuss.
All our cats are neutered/spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped and come with a full health check. Adoption fee is £50 for one cat and £90 for two cats.

Nia is a stunning 16 month old long haired cat. Even though she is still an older kitten herself she has sadly already had a litter of kittens and experienced a really tough labour. Nia has now been spayed and thankfully she won’t have to experience such an ordeal again.
Before coming into rescue it is likely that Nia didn’t have the kindest of lives and this has meant that she doesn’t trust or allow handling easily. Nia’s family would have to understand that she would need her space to settle in and gain her trust.
During the day she prefers to hide away, but at night her Foster Mother describes how she comes alive. She loves tearing around he house at night playing with her Foster sister Anna.
Nia loves the company of cats, especially those who like playing. She is likely to be unsettled by smaller children but would be ok with calm animal savvy older children. She hasn’t been dog tested.
Our adoption fee is £50 for one cat or £90 for two. All our cats are spayed/neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped and come with a full health check.
Leo is 10 years old and is an absolutely gorgeous boy. Just like so many cats he was sadly left behind when his owners moved away. He is such a friendly and loving cat it’s so sad that he doesn’t have his own special family to love him.
His foster family describe him as extremely loving and playful. He may be 10 but in cat years that doesn’t make him old. He has been absolutely loving running around playing with one of his Foster Brothers, and his foster mother says that he is the first at the door to greet her.
Leo hasn’t been dog tested but he is cat friendly and suitable to live with sensibly animal savvy children.
All our cats are neutered/spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped and have had a full health check.

Shego is approximately three years old. Initially Shego was a little nervous after coming into rescue but she is now settling well into her new Foster Home.
Shego really is a lovely cat with bags of personality. Initially a little wary she now loves attention and demands a cuddle from her Fosterer first thing in the morning. This diva needs a cuddle before tucking into her breakfast! The attention is always on her terms however!
Shego’s favourite pastime is sitting in the window and sunbathing! She isn’t allowed out currently while she is on Foster but it is clear that she can’t wait to get out and explore. She adores playing with her toys and particularly likes dreamies – if you have a dreamy she will be your best friend forever.
She would prefer a home without other cats and dogs and would only be suitable to live with older animal savvy children.
