Gorgeous little Phoebe is around a year old and is now looking for her forever home she is described by her foster mum as a funny wee cat. She loves cwtches and sitting on your shoulders to nuzzle your earlobes. She is an expert explorer and climber and after a time to settle would love to be able to explore the garden and climb some trees. She’s not so keen on other cats but would happily ignore them if they are not too over the top. She’s not met any small people yet but we think she could cope with them if they were cat savvy after all the more human slaves for the cat the better. Phoebe is currently living with a dog and is not bothered so cat savvy dogs would be fine.

Phoebe is chipped, vaccinated, spayed with flea and worming all up to date

Cat savvy children, good with dogs and non dominant cats. Loves human company.

Name: Woody

Age: 10 weeks

Breed: Westie X

Can I live with Children?: Yes but not very young ones

Can I live with cats?: Not tested

Can I live with other dogs?: Yes

Fostered In: Rhondda, South Wales

Woody is a 10-week old West Highland Terrier cross puppy who is being fostered in RCT, South Wales. He is a wonderful, well rounded little bundle of mischief and fun. As with all young puppies, he has a battery life of around 30 minutes and needs a good hour to re-charge. When not sleeping he plays, eats and gets in to mischief. You will need to make sure you home is puppy proof and you love puppy kisses!

People – Woody loves all of his humans except little toddlers who frighten him. He does not live with young children at present. Woody accepts all visitors without hesitation and is happy to play with and be cuddled by everyone.

Dogs – Woody currently lives in a foster home full of dogs young and old and he interacts well with them all.

Cats – Woody has not met any cats but we think he will be fine.

In the home – As a young puppy, Woody is not housetrained although he is starting to stick to a pattern. He does not distinguish between soft toys and electric cables so your home will need to be puppy proof. He sleeps in his own space and settles well at night.

Out and about – Woody is still too young to have ventured outdoors.

Type of home – Woody would fit into a wide range of homes. As a pup he would need someone around most of the time to continue his training and socialising. He can live with sensible children but not too young as puppy teeth hurt if he nibbles you. He would like lots of chew toys and things to keep him active as he grows. Somewhere warm and cosy to recharge his battery is a must. He can live with another dog or dogs but he may be too bouncy for old dogs.

Please remember, if you have a dog and it is not neutered, it is against our policies to re-home a dog with you. We will not accept full time working homes for puppies. If you live in a flat we will be asking about your experience of puppy training in a flat.

Woody is chipped, vaccinated and up to date with his flea and worming treatment. Woody is too young to be neutered so it is a condition of adoption that his adopters arrange to have him neutered as soon as he is old enough. A discount voucher is available and follow up checks will be done. It is also a condition of adoption that Woody attends puppy socialisation classes and you will be asked about classes available in your area. Name: Rufus

Age: c. 7 years old

Breed: Chihuahua X

Can I live with Children: No

Can I live with cats: No

Can I live with other dogs: Yes, but preferably only one other at most.

Fostered: Newport

Rufus is a 7-year old Chihuahua cross who is being fostered in Newport, South Wales. He is a lovable but confused little dog. He is generally okay around other dogs with food (he guards his own bowl as any dog does) but can get over aroused when humans are eating; as a result, is learning to be in a crate while humans are eating.

People – Rufus has not been aggressive towards humans whilst he has been fostered. He will nip his foster mummy but only in a playful way. This does take a certain amount of time to get used to if you’re not used to playful biting. He is learning lots of games and self control so with time and training he will stop this.

Dogs – Rufus has shown that he enjoys the company of other dogs. However, he can display odd characteristics when he is around them. He seems to mostly want to play but can appear as though he is displaying aggression through his nervousness. Whilst he shows these behaviours, he backs down and squeals if reprimanded by the other dog.

Cats – Rufus currently lives with two cats and can be aggressive towards them. When he can’t get to them, he will bark lots, so NO cats

In the home – Rufus will get annoyed if you are fussing other dogs and this can be displayed by his barking, growling and nipping. However, he will settle eventually and enjoys having a fuss, again this is a work in progress and his new owners are expected to continue with his training in a positive way He is toilet trained although initially, may wee in the house until he finds his paws.

Out and about – Rufus has been off the lead a few times and generally recalls well. It seems when he becomes tired, he wants to do his own thing and can be a bit harder to recall. He walks well on the lead but likes nothing more than running around with his foster siblings, especially on the beach.

Type of home – Rufus is difficult to read so requires an owner that will be patient with him while he settles. Were he an only dog, he would bond strongly with his human. He’d be fine with another dog, though any more than that is likely to overwhelm him. Any perspective owner will have to accept his tendency to be a bit of a barker and potential biter especially if they fail him by not continuing his training.

Please remember, if you have a dog and it is not neutered, it is against our policies to re-home a dog with you.

Rufus is neutered and is chipped, vaccinated and up to date with his flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to the Newport area to meet him ideally a few times before making a commitment to such a loving but confused boy.

REHOMED Rosemary – 6-year old Bichon Frise

Name: Rosemary

Age: c. 6 years old

Breed: Bichon Frise

Can I live with Children: Older

Can I live with cats: Yes

Can I live with other dogs: Will only be rehomed with another dog

Fostered: Newport

Adorable Rosemary is a 6-year old Bichon Frise, who is being fostered in Newport. She is a former breeding dog who has made significant progress on the road to rehabilitation. She will need patient owners who will allow her time to build up a bond with them.

People – Rosemary is so much better with people than when she first arrived but she is still a very nervous dog with people she doesn’t know. She will allow her foster mum to brush and stroke her but this has taken many months and may take new owners a long time to build a bond with her.

Dogs – Rosemary adores other dogs and needs at least one to live with for confidence and play. She lives with a variety of dogs in her foster home and is more confident when with them. She is very nervous at meal times and needs to be fed on her own. Her past means she grabs at her bowl and drops food out the bowl to then eat it.

Cats – Rosemary is fine with cats and currently has two cats in her foster home who she lives alongside with no issues.

In the home – Rosemary is crate trained and happy to go in and out as she uses it for security when she feels anxious. Her crate training means she travels well in the car. She is fine to be left for up to two hours, provided she has doggie company. Rosemary loves nothing more than to cwtch up with people she trusts, though does tend to favour her foster mummy, but foster daddy gets lots of cuddles from her when he’s the only choice. She gets incredibly excited when you come home and will paw at you the moment you sit down. As she was so overweight, she likes to be picked up rather than jump up. Rosemary is mainly okay in the house, though does occasionally wee indoors so potential owners will need a ready supply of puppy pads. Being in a home is a new experience for her so she loves to investigate and has chewed through many wires though this is becoming less frequent an event as she works her way through appliances.

Out and about – Rosemary walks well on a lead when she trusts you and will walk beside her foster mummy off lead as she seeks lots of reassurance. When out with her foster daddy, she tends to be a bit less in need of assurance and loves to run and play with her doggie companions. She now is confident with having her harness on which is essential for her to wear in a new home as her nervousness will see her initially run off until she begins to trust you.

Type of home – Rosemary was very overweight initially but has worked hard to lose over 2.5 kg. New owners must be prepared to closely monitor her weight. Other dogs are a must to give her confidence and to continue her exercise. She now walks around 4 miles each day and has eventually started to run with other dogs which has helped her mobility and continued weight loss. Rosemary had awful gum disease through neglect and a few teeth have fallen out as her improved diet began to remove the plaque that was holding them in. She’s had a further seven rotten teeth removed when she had her dental so now has disease free gums and manages her food quite well. She needs owners that will be prepared to ensure she continues her daily walks with other dogs and that she has a healthy diet and exercise regime. New owners must not expect too much from her too soon and she will need time to settle. Her house must be 100% secure otherwise she’s likely to escape because of her initial nervousness.

Please remember, if you have a dog and it is not neutered, it is against our policies to re-home a dog with you.

Rosemary is neutered, chipped, vaccinated and up to date with her flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to the Newport area to meet her.

Please say a quiet hello to our very gently lady DAISY. Daisy is between 3 to 5 years old and was living rough for quite a while being fed by a kind lady until the weather started getting colder. She is a very gently soul and has taken her time to settle in her foster home. She likes to find a spot she feels safe and stays there watching the world go by.  She is very quiet and clean and no trouble at all. Her foster mum says she loves a fuss once she trusts you and gives a look of disappointment when you stop. Her ideal home would be no young children a quiet home with her adopters around a lot for her to get to know and trust them and they will need to be very patient in gaining her trust but when they do they will be rewarded. Daisy is a beautiful girl and will blossom in the right home. She is great with other cats and dogs

Fluffy (male) and Bitsy (Female) are around 3 or 4 years old and are looking for a home together. Bitsy greets you with head bumps and really enjoys head, and ear rubs. She enjoys her food and sometimes shares with Fluffy. She loves exploring and never tires of finding new hiding places. Bitsy can be a little shy, until she gets to know you. Fluffy (I call him Fluffety Buffety) adores his cuddles. He will happily let you carry him around like a baby whilst you do your chores. He also loves his food and is not averse to pinching some of Bitsy’s too – but only if she lets him! Wherever Fluffy leads, Bitsy is happy to follow. They both have oodles of personality and are very loving. They would relish the opportunity to show some very lucky guardians just how much love and entertainment they can offer. They would need a home with older or cat savvy children. They have seen a dog and didn’t eat him but have not spent a great deal of time with them so possibly a cat savvy dog.

Fostered In: South Wales

Mr Darcy needs at least one resident dog and at least one person who is home all day

Mr Darcy is a gorgeous 8-month old Cavalier King Charles spaniel who is being fostered in RCT, South Wales. He loves the beach and is eager to spend hours on walks exploring the countryside. He’s then happy to come home and settle on your lap for a well-earned cuddle.

People – Mr Darcy loves all people and he loves nothing more than a cuddle on your lap. He’s only a pup so slightly older children who he won’t knock over while playing would be better.

Dogs –  He loves the company of other dogs. He currently lives with other dogs of different sizes and ages without issue. Mr Darcy does sometimes grumble if he’s playing with a high value toy and another dog tries to pinch it. He’s fine with his meals.

Cats – No cats please

In the home – Mr Darcy can get a bit of a stressed and will cry if left alone. He would like his humans around for most of the time and another dog for company.

He would like another dog or dogs for company and an owner who enjoys lots of walks whatever the weather. Being allowed to cuddle on the sofa is a must as he loves being close to his humans. Name: Billy

Age: 9 weeks

Breed: Pug X

Can I live with Children?: Yes, older dog savvy children

Can I live with cats?: Not tested

Can I live with other dogs?: Yes

Fostered In: Worcestershire

Billy is a 9-week old Pug cross who is being fostered in Worcestershire. He is a typical puppy, full of life and mischievous and with no fear at all. His life revolves around eating, playing and sleeping and he is accomplished in all these arts.  Billy will not be rehomed until he has received both vaccinations – the dates of which will be discussed with the successful applicant.

People – Billy loves all humans and sees them all as play buddies and personal slaves. He meets a different person most days and loves them all. Billy would love to live with children but they must be sensible children who are aware of a dog’s needs and who are prepared for those needle-sharp puppy teeth in the early days.

Dogs –  Billy loves the company of other dogs

Cats – Not tested with cats but young enough to learn

In the home – Billy is a puppy so prospective families should be aware of the challenges that having a new puppy brings such as housetraining, restless nights, chewing to name just a few. His tail wags all the time. He is very outgoing, into everything. He was first out of the crate, first down the step, first up the garden, first into mischief, first to the food bowl. He loves to shred newspaper. He runs towards you when called (providing what he is doing isn’t more interesting!), tail wagging and loves attention.

Out and about – Billy has not been out into the wide world yet but his new family will have to be committed to training and socialisation in many different situations.  One thing Billy does enjoy is racing around the garden in his foster home so a decent sized secure garden is a must.

Type of home – Someone around much of the time with plenty of time to spend training and bringing Billy on. A household where they understand that to get a good adult dog a lot of time needs to be spent with the puppy while they are growing. He is a bright dog and will benefit from lots of opportunities to learn and try new experiences. He loves company and we would like to see him with one or more other dogs in the home to play with and learn from. Obviously, a secure garden because he is very inquisitive and moves very quickly. It is a condition of adoption that Billy attends puppy socialisation classes and you will be asked about classes available in your area.

Please remember, if you have a dog and it is not neutered, it is against our policies to re-home a dog with you.

Name: Dionne

Age: 3 Years

Breed: Cavalier King Charles Spaniel

Can I live with Children?: Yes

Can I live with cats?: Not tested

Can I live with other dogs?: Yes, a must

Fostered In: Gwent South Wales

Dionne will only be considered for a home with at least one resident dog who is neutered.

Dionne is a 3-year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, who is being fostered in Newport, South Wales. She is an ex-puppy farm girl who we think will make an amazing pet. Dionne isn’t your typical small cavalier. She is rather large in height and size weighing about 13 kilos but is slim. Dionne has just recently come out of season whilst being in her foster home.

People – Dionne craves human touch. She loves a fuss and to be stroked. Her favourite place to be is right beside you. Dionne might be a little bit shy at first but soon comes round and then her tail is constantly wagging and she will follow you everywhere. Dionne is currently living with a 5-year old child who she loves. She will go for a fuss and a cuddle without hesitation.

Dogs – Dionne lives with two female Cavaliers and loves nothing more than to cuddle up to them. She has also met quite a few dogs since being in foster and has been fine with all of them as long as they aren’t too boisterous and then she will tell them off. Dionne is very food driven and will think nothing of knocking other dogs out of the way to get to it. She loves company and chilled out dogs as she copies their behaviour.

Cats – Not cat tested

In the home – Dionne has been left for up to a maximum of 3 hours and she has had no problems. Dionne can be a little but jumpy with the vacuum cleaner but is fine with the washing machine and tumble dryer etc. She loves to rest her head on you at every opportunity.

Out and about – Work in progress. We are currently managing a few steps with a lot of persuasion and encouragement so this will definitely be an area that needs work but we are sure in time she will learn to love a walk.

Type of home – Dionne would love a home with children over 5 with another calm resident dog. Someone who works part time and who is willing to dedicate the time to continue with her toilet and lead training.

Please remember, if you have a dog and it is not neutered, it is against our policies to re-home a dog with you.

Dionne is not neutered as she has just come out of season. It will be the responsibility of the adopters to ensure she is neutered at the first opportunity as decided by the vet. A discount voucher will be provided and follow up checks will be done.  She is chipped, vaccinated and up to date with her flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet her in her foster home in Newport, South Wales

Breed: Cavalier King Charles Spaniel

Can I live with Children?:Yes

Can I live with cats?: Not tested

Can I live with other dogs?:  Yes, a must

Fostered In: Gwent

Blanche is a 5-year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who is being fostered in Gwent. She has a wagging tail whenever she sees you.

People – Blanche is very people focused and will let you touch her anywhere although she does cower down a little when you bend from standing to stroke her.

Dogs –  Blanche is just a little scared when she sees large noisy dogs but with reassurance is fine and soon settles around them.

Cats – Not tested with cats

In the home – She has only been left for short periods with three dogs and seems fine when her foster mum returns. Her housetraining is a work in progress. She is not destructive at all and has yet to play with toys. She loves cuddles and watching TV although she does bark when there are animals on the screen. Blanche gets excited when her foster mum makes a cup of tea and she prefers being on your lap than anywhere else. Blanche has the loudest snore!

Out and about – Blanche stops and starts when walking and needs encouragement to move on but once moving is very eager to have a little run. She needs a bit more work on recall but we think it’s just her getting use to her name.

Type of home – We think any loving home would be suitable however she does love to be cuddled so someone who is home for a lot of the day and has plenty of time to give her the love and attention she craves would be perfect.  Blanche will only be rehomed where there is another dog for company.

Please remember, if you have a dog and it is not neutered, it is against our policies to re-home a dog with you.

REHOMED Lady & Darling – 2-year old Malaysian crossbreeds

Name: Lady and Darling

Age: Around 2 years old

Breed: Malaysian Crossbreed

Children: Teens

Cats: Not tested

Dogs: Yes

Fostered in: RCT, South Wales

Walt Disney has Lady and the Tramp…

Here at FOAW we have Lady and her Darling. A 2-year old pair of Malaysian crossbreeds, who are being fostered in RCT, South Wales. Lady and Darling were both saved from the streets of Malaysia last year and taken into the home of a lady working there, along with a 3rd dog.
Lady had been dumped while in season and was so lucky to have been found before ending up in pup on the streets.
Slowly they all began to adapt to life in a home, but when the 3rd dog disappeared into the hands of the local dog warden and was euthanised, she knew she had to get Lady and her Darling out of Malaysia and back home to the UK.
She heard about FOAW through a friend and contacted us to ask if we could help and of course we agreed.
The process of getting Lady and Darling passported and ready to travel to Wales was started and in October 2018 Lady and Darling boarded a plane to London, they were then picked up and transported to Wales.
They were very afraid and cold in this strange new country, they slowly adapted to their new surroundings and climate. Now after many months they are ready for the next stage of their lives, to find a new home together.
They have a very close bond with each other and after the journey they have had so far travelled they deserve to stay together. They are both confident dogs now but still watching to make sure the other is OK.

Both Lady and Darling are loving affectionate dogs who love a fuss and cuddle with their humans.
They are both active dogs and love running around the garden or going out walking. They can pull on the lead initially but do settle down. Lady could be a good agility dog. They are both friendly with other dogs both at home and out and about.
They love to be around their people and happily potter around with you as you go about your day. They love joining in the group walks with all their friends. They will need a secure garden with 6ft fencing because Lady is very agile and can jump over lower fencing. Lady also got out of a small window when they 1st arrived with us. Darling on the other hand is good at opening doors. Both are happy being left for 2-3 hours but can get bored and get into mischief if left for too long.
They are both fully vaccinated neutered, microchipped and up to date with their flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters are expected to travel to meet them in their foster home in South Wales.

Bear is partially sighted in one eye and this will need monitoring as he gets older.

Name: Victoria

Age: 5 years old

Breed: West Highland Terrier

Can I live with Children?: Yes, older

Can I live with cats?: Yes

Can I live with other dogs?: Yes, a must

Fostered In: Cardiff

UPDATE 4TH FEBRUARY

Sweet and loving little Victoria. I don’t understand why she hasn’t had many applications apart from not looking like a westie because of her hair cut.
She is full of mischief, cheeky.,loving, playful no health issues and a delight to foster.

Victoria is doing really well on her walks. Through the park and all the way around the village today. Not bothered by cars only spooked by people if they are behind her and she’s too busy sniffing about to notice them.
Children doesn’t bother her, she’s one layed back pooch.

Would love a home with another younger dog to play with

_________________________________________________________________

Victoria is a 5-year old West Highland Terrier, who is being fostered in Cardiff. She is a quiet, timid little girl who is slowly getting used to the positive things in a doggy’s life. Victoria has had a rotten start in life but is gaining in confidence every day.

People – Victoria is fine with the adults that live in the house but is a little nervous of new people coming in. She settles after a while. She can be touched but will back off if you touch her for too long. Victoria has met children and is fine with them but we wouldn’t recommend very young ones due to her quiet nature.

Dogs –  Victoria mixes with 1 male and 3 females dogs in foster home. She happily joins them in the garden and runs around with them in the house. Victoria will only be rehomed where there is at least one other dog to keep her company.

Cats – Victoria is happy around cats.

In the home – Victoria seems fine when left with the other dogs. Has been left for about 3 hours. Victoria can be dominant over toys and guards her food which is probably due to her past. We are working on this with her. Victoria is nervous of loud noises and sudden movements but not worried by TV washing machine etc. Her house training is a work in progress. She runs to greet her foster family with a wagging tail and wants to give kisses when we come into the house. She will watch other animals intensely when they are on the TV or lap top. She likes to sit on the sofa and rest her head on your lap and sleep.

Out and about – Victoria has been out on the lead on walks and is coping every well. She is gaining in confidence daily and we are sure that in a few weeks she will be more confident again.

Type of home – Victoria definitely needs another dog. She loves nothing more than a run and play in the garden with a companion. She needs someone who is home part of the day. We think she will love to be out doors a lot when she’s lead trained as she loves to be in the garden and runs around wanting to play. She seems to have a lot of energy. Any children in the home would have to be of an age where they can understand her needs and quiet nature.

Please remember, if you have a dog and it is not neutered, it is against our policies to re-home a dog with you.

Victoria is neutered, chipped, vaccinated and up to date with her flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet her in her foster home in Cardiff.

Charlotte – 5 year old Yorkshire terrier

next arrow

Name: Charlotte

Age: 5 years

Breed: Yorkshire terrier

Can I live with Children?: Older gentle children please

Can I live with cats?: Yes

Can I live with other dogs?: Will only be rehomed with another dog

Fostered In: Newport South Wales

Charlotte is a 5-year old Yorkshire Terrier who is being fostered in Newport, South Wales. Her true character is starting to emerge and we think she will become a kind gentle laid back dog just looking for a cosy sofa and an easy life with a family giving her patience, reassurance and understanding.

People – Charlotte is becoming more sociable with her foster family. She makes a lot eye contact with them and watches everything we are doing, but she loves to sleep. She can be nervous of visitors, especially children and will keep her distance from them.

Dogs –She is being fostered with two other dogs and initially would cower when the male approached her when she had food but once she became more settled she began to get better at trusting that he wasn’t going to fight her for it. We think she may be able to live with another calm, laid back dog but no one too boisterous.

Cats – Charlotte is not at all bothered about cats.

In the home – She is fine to be left and is not destructive at all. She seems to enjoy her own company just sleeping her time away but does like to see you come back and wags her little tail when she sees you. She is scared of the vacuum cleaner but is ok with the washing machine. Loud noises do scare her and she will stress sometimes when being picked up.

Out and about – She has only just had her second vaccination so her foster mum has tried a lead a couple of times but she’s very nervous and will freeze. She’s scared of any noises outside and doesn’t know what cars are. We are sure, given time and lots of practice, that she will learn to enjoy walks on lead.

Type of home – A home with at least one other friendly and gentle dog who can teach her how to behave like a dog is a must. A sofa is a must as she loves sitting on the sofa. If you don’t like dogs on furniture then Charlotte isn’t the girl for you. Someone who is home most of the day who is willing to give Charlotte time and patience to help to further build her confidence.

Please remember, if you have a dog and it is not neutered, it is against our policies to regime a dog with you. Charlotte is neutered, chipped, vaccinated and up to date with her flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet her in her foster home in Newport South Wales

Fostered In: Stone, Staffordshire

RESERVED SUBJECT TO HOMECHECK

Angelina will only be considered for a home with at least one resident dog who is neutered.

Angelina is a 1-year old Cavalier King Charles who is being fostered in Stone, Staffordshire. She is a very special young lady who, despite a rotten start in life, is a delight and eager to please. As with all Cavaliers, she is mild mannered and friendly.

People – Angelina loves people of all sizes. She is happy to be touched, stroked and petted and loves play time with adults and kids

Dogs –  Angelina needs a resident dog to help her to learn how to be a pet. She will only be considered for a home with at least one resident dog who is neutered. A young dog would be an ideal playmate.

Cats – Not tested

In the home – Angelina is still learning about being indoors and is very curious has her nose into everything and has a fondness for electrical wires and cushion zips. She can be left for short periods as long as she has the company of other dogs and not for extended periods. Angelina’s housetraining is a work in progress but she is dry overnight. She loves to be on your lap for a cuddle and enjoys running round playing with other dogs. She sleeps through the night on her foster mum’s bed so someone who’s happy to allow this is a must.

Out and about – Angelina has had limited exposure to the outside world but has started walking on a harness. Potential adopters will have to understand that she will need continued training and socialisation, at her own pace, in this area.

Type of home – Angelina needs home with someone around for the most part and a doggy companion she can learn from. With some patience and work Angelina will become a wonderful and loyal companion and family pet. She can happily live with gentle children but has not been tested around cats.

Please remember, if you have a dog and it is not neutered, it is against our policies to re-home a dog with you.

Angelina is neutered, chipped, vaccinated and up to date with her flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet her in her foster home in Stone, Staffordshire.

Name: Ann

Age: 1 year old

Breed: X Breed

Can I live with Children?: Older children

Can I live with cats?: Yes

Can I live with other dogs?: Yes

Fostered In: Crewe

Ann is a one-year old former puppy farm crossbreed who is being fostered in Crewe, Cheshire. She needs basic training and socialising to learn that being a loved pet isn’t scary and is much better than a dark barn.

People –  Ann is a nervy puppy farm dog but loves cuddles and attention. She is sociable although timid at first. Once she trusts you she will jump onto your lap and wag her tail for a fuss. Ann could live with older children who understood that she needed space and time to gain confidence. Children who understood the importance of being calm and quiet around her initially. Ann loves to cuddle up next to you and is never far away from where you are. Her tail is always wagging in the house and she is always pleased to see you. Ann is getting braver every day at coming straight up to people to get a fuss.

Dogs –   Ann is sociable with other dogs but can get jealous at times so will need to learn to share humans and toys etc as she settles. She tries to play with dogs and is getting more sociable at she settles in.

Cats – Ann barked at the resident cat initially but ignores it now and wouldn’t chase it. She also lives with two parrots and shows no prey drive.

In the home – Ann is fine to be left for short periods. She settles happily in her bed and doesn’t bark or cry.  Ann will take socks and toys if left near her but isn’t destructive – she just takes them into her bed.  Ann is learning what it is like to be a pet and how to share so she can sometimes get possessive over toys that she really likes. This is improving as she learns and settles into a routine in her foster home.  Ann is quite fearful in the dark so will bark when in the garden at night if something scares her like a tree creaking, or a letter box rattling in the wind, but overall, she is a very happy dog in the house who will run upstairs and sit on the sofa watching TV with you.

Out and about – This is currently a work in progress. Ann will walk on a lead but the outside world is quite scary so she needs encouragement and to trust the person walking her first. She is very shy currently when outside the house or attempting lead walks which is understandable given her background. Her fosterer is currently building up her confidence on a lead in the house and garden rather than overwhelming her walking elsewhere so this will need to be carried on by any prospective owner

Type of home – Ann needs a home with understanding people that will allow her to continue to build confidence without expecting a bouncy young puppy all the time. It will take Ann time to learn how to be a loved pet and enjoy walks and being outdoors so this will need patience from her new family. Ann needs a family that will work with her to continue house training and lead training. Ann needs a home with no other dogs or other dogs that are calm and non-reactive as Ann may take some time to settle in as she has done in the foster home. She tells dogs off but is quickly learning that gets ignored by the resident dogs.

Please remember, if you have a dog and it is not neutered, it is against our policies to re-home a dog with you.

Ann is neutered, chipped, vaccinated and up to date with her flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet her in her foster home in Crewe.

Age: 2 years

Breed: Shih Tzu

Can I live with Children?: Yes, sensible ones

Can I live with cats?: No cats

Can I live with other dogs?: Yes quiet dogs

Fostered In: Rhondda, South Wales

Kaiya is a 2-year old Shih Tzu girl who is being fostered in RCT, South Wales. She is a sweet-natured soul who enjoys being with her humans as much as possible

People – Yes she loves to be stroked and loves nothing more than a cuddle on the sofa with her family.

Dogs –  Yes quiet, well mannered ones. We think Kaiya has previously lived in a home where she wasn’t having the attention or socialisation that she needed so can be a bit frightened by over enthusiastic dogs.

Cats – No cats, please.

In the home – Kaiya can be left for short periods but would love her humans to be around as much as possible. She will whimper initially but soon settles.

Out and about – Kaiya likes to go out for adventures and walks well on a lead. She loves going for walks and has been to the local forest exploring a couple of times with her foster brothers. She then likes to return for a well-earned cuddle on the sofa.

Type of home – Kaiya would suit a couple/individual who are home most of the time or someone who works from home. She can live with calm sensible children as well as quiet dogs who aren’t too bouncy but would be more than happy to be an only dog and have all the attention. Someone who enjoys gentle walks and is happy to take Kaiya with them as she loves her lead walks and gets very excited to go out exploring.

REHOMED Morello – 9 week old Cavalier puppy

morello

DUE TO THE MASSIVE RESPONSE NO FURTHER APPLICATIONS ARE BEING ACCEPTED

NB: Please remember, if you have a dog and it is not neutered, it is against our policies to re-home a dog with you. We will not accept full time working homes for puppies. If you do work part time the pups must have a resident dog for company please. We will be expecting the puppy to go to socialisation classes and we will be asking you about your plans at interview. If you live in a flat we will be asking about your experience of puppy training and how you will cope without a garden.

Name: Morello

Age: 9 weeks

Breed: Cavalier King Charles Spaniel

Can I live with Children?: Yes but not toddlers

Can I live with cats?: Yes

Can I live with other dogs?: Yes

Fostered In: Rhondda, South Wales

We call Morello the little Warrior. He is a delightful little chap who loves to play fight with his siblings and won’t back down from larger dogs. As with all young puppies, he has a battery life of around 30 minutes and needs a good hour to re-charge. When not sleeping he plays, eats and gets in to mischief. You will need to make sure you home is puppy proof and you love puppy kisses!

People – Morello loves all of his humans except little toddlers who frighten him. He does not live with young children at present. Morello accepts all visitors without hesitation and is happy to play with and be cuddled by everyone.

Dogs –  Morello currently lives in a foster home full of dogs young and old and he interacts well with them all.

Cats – Morello will be fine to live with cats

In the home – As a young puppy, Morello is not housetrained although he is starting to stick to a pattern. He does not distinguish between soft toys and electric cables so your home will need to be puppy proof. He sleeps in his own space with his brothers and sisters and settles well at night.

Out and about – Morello is still too young to have ventured outdoors.

Type of home – Morello would fit into a wide range of homes.

Morello is not neutered as he is too young so it is a condition of adoption that he is neutered at 6 months of age. A discount voucher will be provided and follow up checks will be done. He may need a small hernia repaired at the same time. Morello is chipped, vaccinated and up to date with his flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet him in his foster home in Rhondda, South Wales

Out and about – Jazz is still too young to have ventured outdoors.

Type of home – Jazz would fit into a wide range of homes.

Jazz is not neutered as he is too young so it is a condition of adoption that he is neutered at around 6 months of age. A discount voucher will be provided and follow up checks will be done. He may need a small hernia repaired at the same time. Jazz is chipped, vaccinated and up to date with his flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet him in his foster home in Rhondda, South Wales
