Name: Fran

Age: 3-years old

Breed: Cavalier King Charles

Can I live with Children: No

Can I live with cats: No

Can I live with other dogs: Yes, a must

Fostered In: Rhondda, South Wales

Fran is a sweet 3-year old Cavalier King Charles who is being fostered in the Rhondda, South Wales. As an ex-breeding girl she is very nervous and will need at least one other dog to live with in her new home.

People – Fran is great with adults both male and female and loves the teenagers in her foster home. She will bark at younger boys in the home. This is currently being worked on and she is improving but she would like to live in an adult only home

Dogs –   Fran gets on well with dogs big and small. As an ex-breeding girl Fran will need at least one other dog in the home. She has met loads of dogs out walking and greets them all with a happy tail wag.

Cats – No to cats

In the home – Fran has the waggiest tail which makes her whole body shake. She enjoys being out on walks exploring the countryside but then returning home for a cuddle on the sofa with her humans. Fran is calm in the house. Her toilet training is nearly there, she is clean and dry in the day but has had the odd accident overnight. She sleeps in the kitchen overnight with other dogs for company, she hasn’t been destructive, so we’ve had no need to crate her. She’s happy to be left for a few hours if there’s another dog with her, on her own she will cry.  She loves her food and although will grumble if another dog tries to eat from her bowl if you tell her ‘no’ she stops.

Out and about – Fran walks well in the lead and loves being out and about. She will walk for about an hour at a time and has been to the beach and local forestry with her fosterers which she enjoyed. She is happy to meet other dogs big and small while out and is always polite. She travels well in the car in a crate and has been well behaved when at the vets

Type of home – Fran needs an adult-only home as she is not fussed on children running about and will bark or chase. She would like her humans around for most of the time and are happy to take her for regular walks. At least one other kind resident dog is a must and patient owners who realise that as a puppy farm girl she may take a bit of time to adjust to her new life and not rush her.

Fran is neutered, chipped, vaccinated and up to date with her flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet her in her foster home in the Rhondda, South Wales

Name: Jessie

Age: 4 years old

Breed: Cavalier King Charles Spaniel x Beagle

Can I live with Children: Yes, but not toddlers

Can I live with cats: Yes

Can I live with other dogs: Yes

Fostered In: South Wales

Four-year old Jessie is an ex-breeding Cavalier cross Beagle girl who is being fostered in South Wales. She is looking for a home with at least one other dog for company

People – Jessie loves people, big and small. She enjoys fuss and would happily live with sensible, gentle children.

Dogs –   Jessie is fine around other dogs and lives in a multi-dog household. She is friendly with all the dogs she has met on walks too. As an ex-breeding girl she is more used to dogs than people so we are looking to rehome her where there is at least one other dog. She has snapped once or twice at other dogs when they jump up next to her on the sofa but is learning that this is not acceptable.

Cats – Jessie can live with cats

In the home – Jessie does need reassurance as can be startled with loud noises and will jump if a loud car goes passed. She hasn’t been crated as she has been so well behaved. Her housetraining is a work in progress and her adopters will have to be prepared to continue this. Jessie has been left with other dogs for company with no problem at all. She is yet to play with toys but this may or may not come in time as she settles down.

Out and about – Jessie walks well on the lead. She does need to gain further confidence in this area as is still scared of sudden noises. She travels well in the car and is either in a travel crate or behind a dog guard. At the vets she has been very well behaved.

Type of home – A home where Jessie is allowed to settle with no pressure, would be perfect for her. She needs to be given time to find her feet and get used to living in a home. She can live with gentle children as she enjoys cuddling up to them. She doesn’t want a huge amount of exercise – short walks and naps in between 😊 Cuddles on the sofa is a must as she enjoys human company. She may be able to live with part time workers but would prefer her people to around for a lot of the day.

Jessie is neutered, chipped, vaccinated and up to date with her flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet her in her foster home in South Wales.

Name: Mork

Age: 4-years old

Breed: Miniature Schnauzer

Can I live with Children: Older

Can I live with cats: Yes

Can I live with other dogs: A must, yes

Fostered In: RCT, South Wales

Four-year old Mork is an ex-breeding Miniature Schnauzer girl (yes, girl! Despite her name!) who is being fostered in RCT, South Wales. She does have a Grade 2 heart murmur and an ear that is prone to infection, due to an untreated injury in her past.

People – Mork is nervous of new people and needs time to get to know you. She loves the humans who have gained her trust but is very vocal – growling and barking – at strangers. Mork will be fine around older children but not smaller, noisy ones.

Dogs –   Mork is a typical ex-breeder who is happier around dogs than she is people. She will need a kind resident dog for company in her new home.

Cats – Mork happily lives with three cats.

In the home – Mork’s housetraining is a work in progress. If the door is open then she will use the garden but if not, she isn’t yet brave enough to ask and will mess on the floor. Her new family will have to have patience with her while she gets to grips with this and settles in her new routine. She has been left for a little while and will initially bark and cry but does calm down after a few minutes. She sleeps on a chair/dog bed in the kitchen with her canine companions.

Out and about –  Mork is getting used to the outside world and everything is a new experience for her. She needs help with her lead training as sometimes she can walk well but other times she will try to bolt. Off lead, she has only been exercised in a secure enclosed area with people that she trusts so her adopters will have to take care.

Type of home – With Mork’s lack of confidence and the ongoing training requirements, she does need her humans to be home for most of the day. Another similar-aged dog for company and older children only. A family who understand ex-breeding dogs and what they have been through would be ideal as they would have the patience to work with her and help her gain in confidence.

Mork is neutered, chipped, vaccinated and up to date with her flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet her in her foster home in South Wales

Name: Morag

Age: 4-years old

Breed: Cairn Terrier

Can I live with Children: Over 10s

Can I live with cats: Not tested

Can I live with other dogs: Yes, a must

Fostered In: Cardiff, South Wales

Four-year old Morag is an ex-breeding Cairn Terrier who is being fostered in Cardiff. It is early days for her and she is just getting used to being in a home and going out for walks but her confidence is improving daily and her waggy tail tells us she’s quite pleased with her new life so far!

People – Morag is a very loving girl who loves people. She interacts well once she knows you but does take a bit of time to get used to strangers. As she is quite skittish we recommend that any children in the home are over 10 years old.

Dogs –   Morag will only be rehomed with another dog and gets on very well with the dogs in her foster home. She enjoys curling up with them for a snooze. She is still getting used to walks so hasn’t met any dogs outside of her foster home yet.

Cats – Morag hasn’t been cat tested.

In the home – Morag has been a little star with housetraining and has picked it up very quickly, although her new home will have to be prepared for accidents until she gets into a routine. She has been left with other dogs for a few hours and hasn’t been destructive or noisy so would be suitable for part time workers. She can be startled by sudden loud noises but is fine with the usual appliance noise in the home. Morag needs to gain some confidence before she joins her foster family on the sofa but we are sure it won’t take her long to find out the best place for cuddles.

Out and about – It is still early days and Morag is getting used to the lead. She isn’t a huge fan of it at the moment but with careful introductions she will eventually realise that it only brings good things. She travels well in the car and behaved well at the vets – initially she was on drops for her ears and wasn’t comfortable with having those put in.

Type of home – Morag has to live with another dog in her new home. She is fine to be left for a little while and will probably be suitable to live with part time workers. We ask that any children in her new home are over 10 and sensible as she can be startled easily. Her new owners will have to give her time and patience to gain in confidence and settle into a routine. She will need guidance with her lead walking and will need encouragement out on walks.

Morag is neutered, chipped, vaccinated and up to date with her flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet her in her foster home in Cardiff.

Name: Dave

Age: 6-months old

Breed: Miniature Dachshund

Can I live with Children: 10 years and over

Can I live with cats: No

Can I live with other dogs: Yes

Fostered In: Crewe, Cheshire

Dave is a 6-month old Miniature Dachshund, who is being fostered in Crewe, Cheshire. He is a typical, full-on puppy and is looking for an experienced home where he will learn boundaries and get plenty of further training and socialisation.

People – Dave is great with people. He can be unsure initially but soon makes friends and loves everyone he meets. Due to his size and breed Dave will only be rehomed where any children are older.

Dogs – Dave can live with or without other dogs. He exhibits typical puppy behaviour and can be a pain so any resident dogs must be able to cope with this. We will not rehome him with a dog who is wanting a peaceful retirement. When out he wants to speak to every dog he meets.

Cats – Dave is very full on with the cat in his foster home so we are looking to rehome him without cats and small furries.

In the home – Dave is an energetic puppy who loves having a garden to play in. His house training is a work in progress and he will need further training in this area so he is aware of what are acceptable toileting areas. He is crate trained but will bark initially before settling. Being a puppy he may get into trouble if left alone for more than a few seconds and will need to be watched so he doesn’t chew anything he shouldn’t.

Out and about – Walks are the most exciting thing ever but like his legs, his attention span is somewhat limited 😊 He will need further recall training so he actually remembers to come back to his owners! He does walk well with a lead and harness. He travels well in the car and has been fine at the vets.

Type of home – Dave is looking for a home where his humans are home for most of the day. He does need further work with his housetraining, and training in general, so would not be suitable for full time workers. Dave is a bundle of energy and any children in the home will have to be older. Underneath that cute exterior he is a Dachshund, and these dogs are known for having certain health problems and personality traits, so a Dachshund-experienced home is desirable.

Dave is neutered, chipped, vaccinated and up to date with her flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet him in his foster home in Crewe, Cheshire.

Our girl Caramel is still looking for her forever home. She’s changed so much since being in foster. She’s full of energy and loves to hunt she is desperate to find her forever home so she can go bring her new owners presents. She likes to drag her toys around until her foster mum gets the message that it’s time to play. Being a typical Tortie Caramel swing between demanding and loving attention to wanting some space. Caramel is looking for a home where she can be free to come and go after a period of adjustment. Caramel is a typical nosy neighbour and loves to sit in the window watching the outside world go by. Caramel needs someone who will respect that she wants her own space on occasion and whilst she is affectionate it is very much on her own terms with a toothy reprimand for anyone who crosses a boundary.

Smudge and gizmo are a bonded pair of gorgeous fur babies. Smudge is a 10 year old seal point Siamese and Gizmo is an 8 year old pale ginger who must be homed  together as house cats.
These boys love to cuddle together, but if there’s a warm radiator, smudge will be found near it. Gizmo loves to be fussed, and purrs loudly in return.
Smudge is a typical Siamese, attention is on his terms to begin with, but once settled he will paw you for fuss. He can get a little stressed in new surroundings and will over groom, but he will settle down. Gizmo loves his food especially wet food, whilst smudge likes to browse on dry food. They will chase each other and play and gizmo likes toys. Neither are over fond of being picked up, but are getting better.
These 2 boys are looking for a quiet, indoor home with older children and no dogs.
They are a lovely pair who need a loving home.

My foster parents say I’m full of beans! I think it means I like playing & have LOTS of energy – I particularly like jumping and I can do backflips when I feel like showing off. I’m 6 months old now & I’m very confident. I’d like a home where I’m the centre of attention and probably the only cat. I have an older foster brother and I’m a bit too energetic for them.
I love eating, playing and cuddling. I can be left on my own – I don’t mind if you work in the day. My foster parents say I can be in a home with older cat savy children I like sitting on humans a lot when I’m not jumping and running around. I like sitting on chests & laps.

Name: Leah

Age: 18 months

Breed: Cavalier/Shih Tzu X

Can I live with Children?: Yes

Can I live with cats?: Not tested

Can I live with other dogs?: Yes

Fostered In: Cardiff, South Wales

Leah is an 18-month old Cavalier cross Shih Tzu who is being fostered in Cardiff, South Wales. She is a clever little girl will sit give you her paw and high five! She apparently will also do roll over but we haven’t managed to get her to do that yet. She is a happy little soul and her tail will wag at the sound of a familiar voice even if she is sitting on your lap.

People – Leah is human focused and loves to sit and cuddle with you, she will lie like a baby in your arms and she lies on her back for a tickle. She will let her foster mum look in her mouth and her ears without a murmur. Leah likes people but can take a little while to approach them. Once she is used to them she is fine. She is more reticent if approached from the top of her head. She loves her foster family and gives out her cuddles and kisses in equal measures. She does bark if a stranger visits but her tail is wagging and as soon as they show her some affection or a treat she is fine. She has met her foster mum’s three-year old boisterous grandson and she adored him from the moment she met him. She jumps on him tail wagging sits by him when he is playing and will charge around the garden with him.

Dogs –  Leah is wary and a little nervous around other dogs when she meets them on walks. She shows no sign of aggression she is just apprehensive and shy possibly because she hasn’t socialised much with other dogs. She is getting better the more she is walked and there are some dogs now which she will say hello to. Large groups of dogs do scare her though and she will run past them.

Cats – Not cat tested

In the home – Leah has been left for up to three hours with her foster siblings and has been absolutely fine. On her first night in fosters Leah chose to sleep in a crate and has slept there every night right through with no worries. She doesn’t use it at all during the day and last night because one of her foster siblings was in her crate she chose to come and sleep on her foster mum’s bed with her foster sister. She is still a young dog and will chew children’s toys if they are left out. She does have a tendency to jump up and mouth your clothing when she gets excited.

Out and about – Leah walks well on lead although initially gets excited and tries to chew the lead. She has been out by a busy road and was a fine with cars passing. She will sit on the pavement if you ask her to and then walks only when you tell her to cross.

Type of home – Leah has been an only dog for most of her life and I think she could happily live as one again. She does love her humans and has formed a bond with her foster mum already. She could live with another dog providing it is laid back and willing to take a back seat for affections. She could live with a family with children but they would need to be aware that she does get excited and mouthy at times and might chew toys if left. She is young enough to learn adapt to different circumstances. It is important that she is re-homed somewhere where the owner/s are home the majority of the day. She can be left for a few hours but not full-time workers.

Please remember, if you have a dog and it is not neutered, it is against our policies to re-home a dog with you.

Leah is neutered, chipped, vaccinated and up to date with her flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet her in her foster home in Cardiff, South Wales

Name: Judy

Age: 5-years old

Breed: Cavalier King Charles Spaniel

Can I live with Children: Over 10s

Can I live with cats: No

Can I live with other dogs: Yes, a must

Fostered In: Worcestershire

Judy is a 5-year old ex-breeding Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, who is being fostered in Worcestershire. She will need to live with a kind resident dog for company but just loves people, which is unusual for ex-breeders. Judy is a wonderful lapdog and can’t get enough of cuddles.

People – Judy loves people and cuddles. She hasn’t met any younger children but we think children over 10 would be ok for her to live with.

Dogs –   Judy is very sociable and will approach other dogs when out on a walk. As an ex-breeding girl she will only be rehomed where there is another dog for company.

Cats – Judy barks at the cats she has met so we feel it is better that her new home doesn’t have any.

In the home –  Judy’s toilet training is almost there but her adopters will need to be prepared for accidents until she gets used to her new routine She has not been crated and has been left for a couple of hours so far without a problem. Judy is a typical lapdog and can’t get enough cuddles. She will bark at her own reflection and dogs on the television. Word of warning: this gal can snore!! You may need to invest in some earplugs of an evening.

Out and about – Judy walks well on the lead and enjoys being out and about. She sits and waits for her lead to be put on. She does enjoy running in the grass and will chase birds and do zoomies. She travels well in the car and has been alright at the vets – albeit a little cautious.

Type of home – Judy is looking for a home where her humans are around for most of the day and will not be suited to full time workers. She loves to be with people and enjoys cuddles. She has basic training – sit, stay and recall, although is a little daunted by doggy toys that she has come across.

Judy is neutered, chipped, vaccinated and up to date with her flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet her in her foster home in Worcestershire.

Name: Della

Age: 7-years old

Breed: Bichon Frise

Can I live with Children: Older sensible ones

Can I live with cats: Yes

Can I live with other dogs: Yes, a must

Fostered In: Barry, South Wales

Della is a 7-year old ex-breeding Bichon Frise, who is being fostered in Barry, South Wales. She is a lovely affectionate girl, who enjoys fuss and will lick you in return!  Della has settled straight away in her foster home and gets on well with the resident dogs. Sometimes when you talk to her, she cocks her head to one side, which is very cute. Della has congenital cataracts but you wouldn’t even realise this only noticeable when you look into her eyes, but doesn’t hold her back at all.

People – Della is more interested in other people’s dogs than in the owners. She is very friendly when she greets another dog. Della likes to be fussed and is quite good at being groomed. She didn’t like having her ears brushed but is fine with that now.

Dogs –   Della is a former breeding girl so gets on with dogs very well. She must have at least one other dog to live with in her new home. When she meets another dog, her tail goes like crazy, but it twirls in a circle rather than the usual wag!

Cats – Della can live with cats

In the home – Della is housetrained and has only ever had one accident in the house, although her new owners will have to give her time to settle. Della discovered the cat flap straight away so she goes out as and when she needs to go. Della sleeps upstairs in her fosterer’s bedroom on a dog bed on the floor. Della hates the crate with a passion and will howl and bark and try to get escape. As she is such a good dog a crate is not required. Della is not destructive at all, but she does like to delve into the recycling and rip any packets she can lick! She isn’t yet interested in toys. Della eats well and enjoys her food. Della does not really like to be left and will howl and bark when you go out but this doesn’t last too long. She has been left for about 4 hours.

Out and about – Della walks well on a lead. She does like a run, which she has on a training lead. There have been no problems travelling in a car and she behaves well in the vets        .

Type of home – Della is looking for a retirement pad with older people who like walking and whose lives seem to revolve around their dogs!  She will be happier with someone at home most of the time. Della has congenital cataracts but this doesn’t hold her back at all. The only drawback is that she can’t see too well into the distance; she doesn’t bump into anything in the home or outside.

Della is neutered, chipped, vaccinated and up to date with her flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet her in her foster home in Barry, South Wales

Breed: Cavalier x Bichon Frise

Can I live with Children: Yes, older sensible ones

Can I live with cats: Not cat tested

Can I live with other dogs: Yes, a must

Fostered In: Cowbridge, South Wales

Ricky is a 2-year old Cavalier cross Bichon Frise who is being fostered in South Wales. He is a lovable chap who will try to wrap you round his little finger  paw in no time. As he is still a young dog Ricky will benefit from further training and boundaries.

People – Ricky initially came into rescue scared of everyone and everything but with a confident handler he has realised there is nothing to be frightened of. Ricky loves humans and other dogs. He may take a little while to trust but learns very quickly.  A little bit of patience and letting him realise he is not going to be hurt and you will soon have a friend for life.

Dogs – Ricky happily lives with other dogs in his foster home and he would be happier living in a home with another dog for company.

Cats – Not cat tested

In the home – Ricky usually uses the garden to toilet but occasionally has a little accident in the house.  This is possibly from fear or excitement and once settled into a proper routine this should cease.  Ricky is used now to sleeping in a crate at night, he seems to like the security and routine.  He also gets fed in his crate (with the door open).  He is a good eater and looks forward to his two meals a day. Ricky has not been left without other dogs or a human but does not depend on having a human present.  Apart from occasional toilet accidents in the house, Ricky does love to shred newspapers, handy if you want them shredded, not so great if you haven’t read them yet!  He has not destroyed anything else though, no remote controls, furniture etc but he is an intelligent dog that should not be allowed to be bored.

Out and about – Ricky is great in the car and prefers to be on the floor.  I always strap him in to a seatbelt for everyone’s safety. Ricky was great at the vet, travelled well and happy in the waiting room, saying hello to other dogs and happy to stay on the floor.  Ricky is good on the lead and is learning recall on a long lead.  This training will need to continue as he gains confidence with his forever family.

Type of home – Ricky would love a home with at least one other well behaved confident dog and humans who are experienced, patient, firm and understanding.  Ricky is not as scared as he makes out, he is a loving, happy and confident little dog that just needs some reassurance, good training and setting of boundaries.  For his own good, he is at the right age to learn rules so a bit of tough love is necessary.  He is so quick to learn, his forever family should be prepared to continue his training and keep him busy to be rewarded with a loyal, loving, well behaved cuddle monster.

Ricky is neutered, chipped, vaccinated and up to date with his flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet him in his foster home in South Wales.

Name: Posie

Age: 2 Years old

Breed: Cavalier King Charles Spaniel X

Can I live with Children?: Yes, sensible ones

Can I live with cats?: Not tested

Can I live with other dogs?: Yes, at least one other dog is a must.

Fostered In: Rhondda, South Wales

Posie is a 2-year old ex-breeding Cavalier cross Springer Spaniel. She is being fostered in RCT, South Wales, and loves nothing more than to relax on the sofa and sleep the day away. She enjoys a potter around the garden and is particularly fond of her chicken trays

People – Posie loves to have a cuddle from her humans and always wags her tail when you enter a room. Posie is happy around children who are gentle with her and are happy to just sit and cuddle her. She isn’t playing yet but we don’t expect it will be long.

Dogs –  As an ex-breeding girl Posie likes other dogs to cuddle up to and follow so we will only rehome her where there is a kind, resident dog for company.

Cats – Not cat tested

In the home – Posie has been left for short periods with another dog for company. She can be a bit of a fussy eater and likes lots of encouragement to eat.  Posie’s housetraining is a work in progress so her adopters will have to be patient and continue the good work started in her foster home.

Out and about – Posie walks well on the lead. As she has only just been spayed and not used to lead walking she is only currently going on short walks and we are building up the distance slowly.

Type of home – Posie would love a home where her humans are around a lot of the time. She is happy to be left for short periods but would need at least one kind resident dog for company. She could live with sensible children who know to be gentle with her and teach her how to play at her own pace. She would also like a sofa where she can curl up and sleep

Please remember, if you have a dog and it is not neutered, it is against our policies to re-home a dog with you.

Posie is neutered, chipped, vaccinated and up to date with her flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet her in her foster home in Rhondda, South Wales

Herbie – FOREVER HOME FOUND
Herbie Nov 5
previous arrow
next arrow

May I introduce Herbie….

This gorgeous boy didn’t have the best of starts in life but he has been sorted out and showered with love by his wonderful foster family and has blossomed into a very handsome and friendly soul.

What he needs now is to find a home where the love showering continues and not only from humans – after being on his own all his life so far, it is our mission to find him a special lady rabbit friend. If there was a Tinder for rabbits, Herbie would be at the top of everybun’s list!

Herbie is now six years old and simply adorable. He is full of fun and mischief.  Due to lack of care in his younger days, his teeth aren’t as good as they could be but he has been doing really well as he has discovered the joys of eating hay which will help keep his teeth healthy.

He is neutered and fully vaccinated (both vaccines) and is ready to seek a loving home with a NEUTERED, VACCINATED female. There is a process to bonding rabbits which we can help and advise with.

Herbie will need quarterly check ups with a vet because of his teeth and Friends of Animals Wales will cover the costs of these visits and any future treatment needed to keep his teeth in good condition.  If you think you are able to give Herbie the forever home he deserves, please click on the  link below.  Please remember that Herbie is looking for love and he needs a home where he can be bonded with a neutered and vaccinated female rabbit:

Name: Harvey

Age: 8-months old

Breed: Bichon Frise cross

Can I live with Children: No

Can I live with cats: Not tested

Can I live with other dogs:  Yes, a must

Fostered In: RCT, South Wales

Harvey is an 8-month old Bichon Frise cross who is being fostered in RCT, South Wales. He is as cute as a button and full of energy – always on the lookout for mischief.

People – Harvey is really scared of humans but at the same time is desperate for interaction. When he first came into rescue, his foster mum couldn’t touch him, but now he comes over to ask for attention. He won’t let her stroke his back yet but should do once he gains in confidence. Due to this fear, we will not rehome him with children.

Dogs –   Harvey is happy around other dogs and will only be rehomed where there is another dog for company.

Cats – Not cat tested.

In the home – Harvey’s toilet training is a work in progress, but he is pretty good as long as the door is open. He sleeps in a crate in the kitchen but isn’t keen on the door being shut – he barks and scratches at the crate if you lock it. He has been destructive towards furniture in his foster home, but the incidences are getting less and less so he is learning boundaries. His energies have been focussed with a yak chew, which he loves. He pinches shoes and chews them and loves ripping paper. That said, the negatives are getting less as he learns what he’s allowed to chew and what he’s not allowed to chew. He does love a cuddly toy to de-stuff. He is ok when left as he has the other dogs for company

Out and about –  Harvey isn’t used to walking on a lead yet and he will refuse to go anywhere when on one. This will be ongoing in his new home, but we are sure he will get the hang of it eventually. He travels well in the car and was fine at the vets.

Type of home –     A quiet adult home is a must for Harvey. He will need another active resident dog in his new home, as the big joy in Harvey’s life is playing with the other dogs.  Someone who has loads of patience to coax Harvey out of his shell and continue his training.

Harvey is neutered, chipped, vaccinated and up to date with his flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet him in his foster home in RCT, South Wales

Lottie came from a home after being bought from a breeder. She is a nervous girl who will be looking for a home with understanding adopters who will give her time and patience. She needs to live with another confident dog for company.

Update: 22/04/2019:
Lottie bonds quickly with women but is happy to have treats and a quick snuggle with men. Lottie will need a confident dog to live with as she loves playing with the others. Fine with cats. Walks beautifully on lead. I would say she has been exposed to busy environments as she is scared in unknown environments. Haven’t tried with children as I don’t have any so will see if I can expose her this week. Asks to go out to toilet and is clean in the house.

On This Morning TV

When Volunteers sign up to be Fosters they know there may be some challenges but appearing on television doesn’t usually come in the job description.

Today the lovely Lynn Taylor foster mum to Bridgette and who also happens to be our Cat Coordinator travelled to London and did a wonderful job promoting adoption on ITV This Morning. Well done Lynn you were brilliant and a very special well done to Bridgette who was a total star. #adoptdontshop

Name: Nell

Age: 2 years old

Breed: Cavalier King Charles/Cocker X

Can I live with Children?: Yes

Can I live with cats?: Not tested

Can I live with other dogs?: Yes, a must

Fostered In: Newport, South Wales

Nell is a 2-year old ex-breeding girl who is being fostered in Newport, South Wales. She isn’t your typical shut down ex-breeding girl and is a friendly, active dog. Nell has a slight heart murmur which does not require medication.

People – Nell loves people of both sexes and all ages and will greet them with a wagging tail after the initial sniff. Nell is happy to be touched She can still be a bit skittish if startled her. She has been to the vets many times for examinations and is perfectly happy to be touched everywhere.

Dogs – Nell is currently in foster with 2 female dogs and has also met family dogs of both sexes and all ages. She is fine with all but will growl if they’re too boisterous for her

Cats – Not cat tested

In the home – She loves to follow you around the house and be with you wherever you are. Nell loves to play/destroy toys socks and blankets but also loves nothing more than cuddling up to you on the settee in the evening. When left Nell would rather roam free in the house as she will dig at doors if left in loose in a room. If this is not possible, she would need to be crate trained.  House training is a work in progress. Until Nell settles she will need constant supervision – she is an escape artist and gardens will have to be secure. Care must be taken when opening front doors etc so that she doesn’t slip out.

Out and about – Adopters will need to continue with Nell’s training in this area. She is getting there with lead walking but does zig zag a lot as she really isn’t used to it yet. She does enjoy zooming around though and will need regular exercise.

Type of home – Nell needs another dog in her new home. She is learning well from the dogs she is in foster with and loves cuddling with them. She is also less destructive when left with resident dogs. An active home would be ideal as she loves a good walk and a run. Nell is fine with children 5 and over but has not met any younger than that.

Please remember, if you have a dog and it is not neutered, it is against our policies to re-home a dog with you.

Nell is neutered, chipped, vaccinated and up to date with her flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet her in her foster home in Newport, South Wales

Age: 11 years

Breed: Cavalier King Charles Spaniel

Can I live with Children?: Older children only please

Can I live with cats?: Not tested

Can I live with other dogs?: Yes

Fostered In: Berkshire

Ruby is an 11-year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and she is fostered in Berkshire. Ruby is full of life and interested in what everyone is getting up to, and likes to let you know if she approves or not, and if you are getting that dinner ready quickly enough for her!

People – Ruby is very happy around people and happy to have fuss and attention. She is a bit uncomfortable with her feet and legs being touched, but she has sore legs so to be expected.

Ruby can be a little reserved when she first meets new people, but once she has the measure of you she will ask for tummy tickles, give little kisses and loves to snuggle on the sofa if you help her up and down.

Dogs – Ruby gets on well with all the dogs in her foster home so would benefit from living with another similar sized dog.

 Cats – Not cat tested.

In the home – Ruby is not keen on being left at home and will bark. She is housetrained. She loves a snuggle on the sofa if you help her up and down.

Out and about – She will pull slightly and bark a lot initially when leaving the house and gets very excited. She loves to be out and about but will bark at the sight of other dogs.

Type of home – Ruby is looking for someone around a lot of the day and loves to be involved in what you’re doing, love human company and physical contact. She also thrives on routine and knowing what’s coming next.

Please note: Ruby has a heart murmur but has no clinical signs of heart failure. Ruby’s legs are quite bad generally. Her new family may need to make adaptions in the home so that Ruby can be involved as much as possible without straining her joints. Ruby also has some LHS facial paralysis and a tilt, but she manages well.  There will be no adoption donation required for Ruby due to her ongoing health issues. FOAW will continue to pay for her non-routine vet bills and medication.

Please remember, if you have a dog and it is not neutered, it is against our policies to re-home a dog with you.

Ruby is NOT spayed at the moment due to her health issues. She is fully vaccinated, microchipped, flea and worm treated. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet her in her foster home in Berkshire.

Cats – Hugo currently lives with a cat and 2 parrots and totally ignores them.

Hugo is an absolutely lovely dog who is so eager to please and will make whoever adopts him the most loyal happy dog. His tail never stops wagging and he is a wonderful companion already even though he is just a baby so whoever adopts him will be very lucky.

Name: Roxy

Age: 8 months

Breed: Cavalier King Charles Spaniel

Can I live with Children?: Yes

Can I live with cats?: Yes

Can I live with other dogs?: Yes, a must

Fostered In: Newport, South Wales

Roxy is an 8-month old Cavalier, who is being fostered in Newport, South Wales. She is a typical playful 8 months old puppy that is excited all the time and loves life. Roxy is a very quick learner and has learned to sit and wait for her treats just like her foster brother and sister.

Health Issues – Roxy has misshaped kidneys so her new family will need to immediately seek treatment for any water infections.

Out and about – She walks very well on the lead and enjoys being outside. She’s very inquisitive and will greet everyone she sees be it human or dog.

People – Roxy loves her humans but gets scared if you raise your voice and can be submissive if you shout. She is very loving likes to touching you or lying on your lap. Roxy loves children and will cuddle with children given the opportunity. She is the most loving girl that will jump up on her foster mum’s lap and put her face on her face and close her eyes waiting to be smoothed and loved. She loves cuddling with her foster mum and laying on her lap in the evenings.

Dogs – Roxy loves to play and needs a young playful brother or sister to burn off her energy. She can be quite persistent when she wants to play and can annoy a dog that is very laid back and doesn’t have her energy as she will keep goading them over and over, so a confident playful dog would be best as they can still put her in her place if needed.

Cats – She is fine with both cats and rabbits just a little bit inquisitive at times.

In the home – Her manners around food are not brilliant and she will steal. She is fine to be left for short periods. Roxy displays typical puppy behaviour and will chew things lying around. She will steal socks, pegs etc and will eat anything lying on the floor. Her toilet training is pretty much sorted and she loves nothing more than being out the garden, running up and down chasing anyone that wants to play with her. Roxy does not like it in a crate and will make a racket if put in one. She currently sleeps on the settee downstairs on her own and is quite happy with that as she usually passes out about 930pm and will give you a lovely wake up call early in the morning by barking telling you it’s now time to play.

Type of home – A home with a young confident playful brother or sister (possibly another cavalier as she has thrived in a foster home full of cavaliers) that can help burn her energy as she is happy playing exploring and having fun. She loves going on adventures walking and seeing the big world we live in.

Please remember, if you have a dog and it is not neutered, it is against our policies to re-home a dog with you.

Roxy is chipped, vaccinated and up to date with her flea and worming treatment. Roxy has not been neutered as she has just finished a season so it is a condition of adoption that her adopters arrange to have her neutered as soon as is practical. A discount voucher is available and follow up checks will be done. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet her in her foster home in Newport, South Wales

Name: Millie

Age: 1 year old

Breed: Bichon Frise

Can I live with Children?:  Yes older sensible children

Can I live with cats?:  Not tested

Can I live with other dogs?: Yes

Fostered In: Rhondda, South Wales

Millie is 1-year old Bichon Frise who is being fostered in Rhondda, South Wales. She is pretty much perfect! She’s a little nervous at the moment but this is understandable as she is only young and has moved from a home where she was a much-loved pet and it is all strange to her. Possible slight heart murmur which is being monitored. No treatment needed

People – She’s a little nervous of strangers but once she knows you, she’ll happily sit on your lap for a cuddle. Due to her slightly nervy nature we will only rehome her where any children are older and dog savvy.

Dogs – Millie is friendly with all other dogs

Cats – Not cat tested

In the home – Millie is ok to be left for short periods.  She sleeps happily in a dog pen in her foster home.  Millie has been an angel since she has been in foster care and has caused no damage at all.   She is well adjusted and used to all household noises. She is toilet trained during the day but has had the odd accident over night by the back door.

Out and about – Millie walks well on the lead and enjoys being out and about. Don’t let Millie’s clean, white appearance fool you! She is more than happy to get muddy whilst out enjoying herself. Just today she has been to a local farm with her foster brother exploring the forest and meeting some of the animals.

                                                                                                                                                                  .

Type of home – Millie would suit most homes. She could live as an only dog but could also live with another kind, resident dog. She can live with sensible children who aren’t too boisterous but would be equally happy being a companion for a retired person as long as they are happy to take her for nice long walks and allow her to cuddle up to them on the sofa.

Please remember, if you have a dog and it is not neutered, it is against our policies to re-home a dog with you.

NEW PICTURES TO FOLLOW SHORTLY

Name: Penny

Age: 7 weeks

Breed: Cavalier King Charles

Can I live with Children?: Yes but not very young ones

Can I live with cats?: Not tested

Can I live with other dogs?: Yes

Fostered In: Rhondda, South Wales

Penny will not be re-homed until she is at least 9 weeks old.

Penny is a wonderful, well rounded little bundle of mischief and fun. As with all young puppies, she has a battery life of around 30 minutes and needs a good hour to re-charge. When not sleeping she plays, eats and gets in to mischief. You will need to make sure you home is puppy proof and you love puppy kisses!

People – Penny loves all of her humans except little toddlers who frighten her. She does not live with young children at present. Penny excepts all visitors without hesitation and is happy to play with and be cuddled by everyone.

Dogs – Penny currently lives in a foster home full of dogs young and old and she interacts well with them all.

Cats – Penny has not met any cats but we think she will be fine.

In the home – As a young puppy, Penny is not housetrained although she is starting to stick to a pattern. She does not distinguish between soft toys and electric cables so your home will need to be puppy proof. She sleeps in her own space and settles well at night.

Out and about – Penny is still too young to have ventured outdoors.

Type of home – Penny would fit into a wide range of homes. As a pup she would need someone around most of the time to continue her training and socialising. She can live with sensible children but not too young as puppy teeth hurt if she nibbles you. She would like lots of chew toys and things to keep her active as she grows. Somewhere warm and cosy to recharge her battery is a must. She can live with another dog or dogs but she may be too bouncy for old dogs.

Please remember, if you have a dog and it is not neutered, it is against our policies to re-home a dog with you. We will not accept full time working homes for puppies. If you live in a flat we will be asking about your experience of puppy training in a flat.

Penny is chipped, vaccinated and up to date with her flea and worming treatment. Penny is too young to be neutered so it is a condition of adoption that her adopters arrange to have her neutered as soon as he is old enough.
