Dolly the Dachshund D2023-33

  • Can be an only dog with a person home with her
  • Can live with other dogs
  • No cats
  • Children 10 and over
  • Parents who love to cuddle, walk and doesn’t mind a little shadow
  • Dachshund knowledge needed.

Well Hello Dolly !!

Dolly is a 5 year old Mini Dachshund described by her foster mum as a real people lover. She adores everyone and greets them with a waggy tail and gorgeous happy face.

She is really, really, really cuddly (so cuddly that she deserves those three) and is always giving kisses. She has started to come out of her shell and find herself and loves to run about with everyone. She loves being In the garden and cuddling on a bed. She has just discovered belly rubs and boops and now comes and asks for them.

She is not a fan of cats and chases them so we do not recommend she is homed with any.

She has been fine with the children she has met but these have been gentle dog savvy children. We recommend children 10 and over.

Dolly doesn’t play with toys yet as doesn’t understand what they are but will play with other dogs once she gets to know them.

She has been for walks on the lead and loves to strut her stuff gaining admiring glances from all she meets. She has also been to secure doggy fields and will stay within looking distance of a human her recall is not great and this will need to be worked on in her forever home. She travels great in the car and has even stayed overnight in a hotel being a model guest.

She sleeps on the bed with her foster mum as she loves to be close. If you do not like dogs on the bed our Dolly is not for you. In fact wherever you are in the house she is not far behind you like a shadow.

Dolly is pretty much house trained but you have to go with her and hold her paw. She needs to be reminded and given the opportunity often but will go out if you go with her. Like all dachshunds she doesn’t always want to in the wind or rain but with treats this can be achieved and has been worked on . This will need to continue in her forever home. She needs lots of praise and the magic treat.

Dolly like all Dachshund loves treats and food. She is slightly subservient with her main meals if other dogs are around so she is fed separate or watched.

Dolly would settle in any home both with other dogs or as a pampered princess on her own. If there are no other dogs in the home then she would need someone who works form home. She loves walks and will keep going as long as u do but also happy snuggled up inside asleep. Dolly is a special lady and is looking for that special home who will continue her progress and treat her like the princess she is.

Olwen D2023-122

  • Needs a resident dog
  • Not cat tested
  • Older children
  • Patient owners who will help her blossom

We all know Winnie the pooh, he’s known for being loud, funny, and optimistic. On the other hand, there’s Piglet who’s normally nervous, stutters occasionally, and fidgets a lot. Olwen is our little Piglet she has a big heart, she cares about everyone and has an opinion on everything but keeps it to herself most times because it might be wrong.

Olwen loves a cuddle and head scratch and would prefer to be by your side than anywhere else. One of her favourite Piglet quotes that she now wants to live her life by is “We’ll be friends forever, won’t we, Pooh?”, “Even longer,” Pooh answered.

Like Piglet, Olwen still feels as if she’s a bit different, is nervous about her future and worried that she won’t find her Pooh sidekick or the love of a family. She needs to understand that the things that make her different are the things that make her.

Olwen is not cat or small furry tested.

Due to her nervous and over thinking nature we recommend she is homed with children over 9 who will read to her and help her adjust. She loves Winnie the Pooh stories by the way.

Olwen is mostly house trained and will use the garden. However, she doesn’t ask to go so needs to be taken out regularly for reminders and praised when she has been good. She uses puppy pads at night.

Olwen has beautiful manners around food unlike Pooh and if not watched will allow others to eat it. She currently won’t take treats from your hand but will collect if you throw for her and take off to eat.

Olwen is still very unsure about this thing she has to wear to go walkies called a harness. She says it feels weird and she’s worried it will be used in a way that she will get hurt. She tells herself every day “I am not afraid”. One day with the help of her forever family she may feel brave enough to be a bit of a tigger or kanga.

Olwen needs a quiet home with a resident dog that she can learn from. A patient and understanding family who will help her overcome her fears enabling her to blossom into the dog she was always meant to be. Her potential is endless she just needs someone to be her courage until she finds her own.

Mally D2023-32

  • Needs a resident dog
  • Older dog savvy children
  • Can live with dog savvy cats
  • Patient parents who will help her adjust to being a pet

Mally is a 5-and-a-half-year-old Cocker Spaniel described by her foster mum as a very nervous girl who takes time to warm up to people. She has started to enjoy human company in her foster home and is enjoying the doggy company.

Mally was initially very nervous in her foster home and was allowed to take her time to get comfortable with her foster family and will now take affection, with a very careful approach as not to scare her. Mostly she is left to approach on her terms.

Mally loves having dog company as it gives her confidence and security which has brought her out of her shell. Were sure if she continues to have dog company, she will begin to learn how to enjoy her new life playing and being adored.

Mally has not paid any attention to the resident cats.

Mally is a very gentle but nervous dog and needs a quieter home environment. Children would need to be dog savvy and 12 plus.

At the moment Mally doesn’t play with toys but enjoys watching the resident dogs playing. In time when she feels safer and loved were sure this will change for Mally and we can’t wait to hear all about it.

Mally has no experience of walking on a lead and this is something that is being worked on in her foster home. She will need lots of patience and encouragement, as she currently won’t walk on a lead even with dog company. She is fine with a harness on but gets a bit nervous when it first does but calms down when she realises it’s nothing to be afraid of.

Mally currently sleeps in a crate at night, she takes a little time to settle if she on her own but if she is with another dog she settles down.

Mally has been very good with her toilet training as she has been encouraged to go out regularly and been given lots of praise when she is good. This needs to be continued in her forever home.

Mally currently eats alone to make sure she gets lots of good food. She’s not really interested in dog treats at the moment but were sure this will come.

Mally needs a quiet home with a resident dog. A home with a nice size garden where she can continue her lead training and enjoy some outside time in the sun (if we ever get any). Older dog savvy children and lots of time to decompress and learn to dog.

Bean D2023-27

  • Can be an only dog with lots of attention.
  • Can also live with other dogs.
  • Can live with cats with proper introductions.
  • Sensible children who won’t treat him like a toy.
  • Owners aware of the breed
  • Adopted on a neutering and training agreement.

Bean is a 12 week old mini Dachshund lovingly referred to as little jumping bean, running bean and sometimes baked bean (when he’s asleep). He likes nothing better than hanging off your socks or hanging on the end of a tuggy pretending to be a big boy dog.

He can be slightly hesitant in new circumstances but then within minutes he is at home running around and saying hello to everyone. He is into everything and everyone once over his initial shyness.

He wants to be a proper dog and have things he can chew, rip up and play with. He loves human play time and then belly rubs. He doesn’t sleep often as he’s too busy being a running Bean and playing zoomies over obstacle courses (settee, raised dogs’ beds etc under supervision).

Bean has met big dogs, little dogs, barkie dogs, hyper dogs, quiet dogs and wants to play with them all and shows no fear. He has met cats who do not like dogs and although they threatened to initially eat him, they just jumped out of his way, and he promises to be nice to other cats if introduced properly.

He would like children to play with and children who will play with him, but they need to realise he’s not a toy and be aware of Daxi related health issues. Children he can run around with and then cuddle up to in bed at night with – he says he wrote that – the fosterer says he can sleep in his cage.

Collar, Harness and lead training is yet to be started but will need to begin in the garden until he feels comfortable enough with it to go out. This doesn’t mean that he is not to go out as at this age he is like a sponge and needs to be out in the big wide world seeing everything.

Bean currently sleeps in a cage but will climb your legs to get onto your lap for snuggles. He doesn’t really know what sleep is! He is however excellent overnight just likes to be awake and active during the day.

Bean is puppy pad trained mostly and has started to go outside for a wee. He is learning fast with positive encouragement and is such a good little boy.

Bean would like a home that doesn’t treat him like a handbag dog or a little dog. He wants an active home who will take him everywhere where his 4 feet are on the floor, and he can walk and run. He wants a family that will take the time to play tuggy and ballie with him, take him to puppy school where he can become the next cruft’s obedience champion. He wants his family to realise he is a big dog in a small package and can do anything any other dog can do if kept slim and fit.

Raymond D2023-25

  • Needs a resident dog
  • Not cat tested
  • Older children
  • Active family for adventures and cuddles.

Raymond is an 18 month old Yorkie cross who adores people and is a true snuggle monster. He will snuggle up to all the humans in the house and is happy to be around them at any opportunity. When out on a walk he likes to greet people that pass him by and adores being out and going for walks, walking beautifully on a lead.

Raymond came into rescue after been found abandoned with a terrible injury to his eye. The vets decided that this injury was caused by a blunt trauma so his eye had to be removed. When he arrived at his foster home he was scared and would shudder when you touched him, but it didn’t take him long to settle and now he’s a loving cheeky typical 18months old that loves to run around chasing the other dogs as well as stealing foster mums washing. He is desperate for a play buddy to run around the garden with him. He loves to snuggle in the doggie beds with his foster brothers too after a busy day.

Raymond has seen a cat whilst out on a walk and wasn’t bothered but he has not been cat tested.

Raymond loves everyone adults and children but he gets very excited and can jump up at very small children and push them over so older children would be better.

Raymond likes to play with doggie toys especially his kong toy. He hasn’t quite learnt how to chase a ball yet but I’m sure he would enjoy learning.

Raymond sleeps on his foster mums’ bed and is at his happiest snuggled up next to his humans at night. He knows when it’s time for bed and will beat foster mum to it and snuggles down ready for her to get in, He then sleeps all night with no accidents. If dogs are not allowed on your bed Raymond is not the dog for you.

Raymond is 90% toilet trained he hasn’t yet learnt how to tell you he needs to go so if the door is closed he may have the odd accident inside.

Raymond does not resource guard at all and is comfortable eating around other dogs. He’s not a foodie though and can be fussy what he has for dinner. Foster mum has now found a food he likes but if he is not fed separate to a greedy dog he would happily stand back and let them eat his dinner so monitoring or separation whilst feeding is important so he manages to eat his own food and it doesn’t get stolen.

Raymond adores everyone and is a typical 18 month old who adores life and is starting to enjoy it very much. He needs a home that will let him explore the outside world by going on lovely walks with his new fur brother or sister. He is also looking for a home that’s ready to give him lots of head kisses (which he loves) and lots of snuggles on the settee in the evening and in bed at night. He feels safe next to his humans in bed and settles very quickly, whether that’s in bed with an adult or child he’s not fussy. Raymond needs another dog to play with and to teach him all about how to be best friends.

Megan D2023-29

  • Needs a resident dog
  • Older dog savvy children
  • Patient owner with time to help her adjust

Megan is a 6 year old Bichon cross Toy Poodle described by her foster mum as a lovely sweet natured dog who has a cheeky and playful nature that is hidden under her nervousness which is now starting to emerge. She is still wary of being caught and will only allow you to pick her up and cuddle her once she trusts you and another dog is close by.

She is not a great lover of the garden yet but doesn’t seem to be bothered about noises or strange objects. She prefers to be in the safety of a home. This will change when she learns how to explore and feels safe.

Megan walks well in a harness and lead and has no reaction to people or children when out and is happy to just walk past them. She is happy for them to approach her once they have asked permission from her forever family. She is wary of being touched by strangers so this needs to be explained to them and she needs to feel comfortable before they do.

Not tested with cats or small furries but due to her quiet nature we think she would be fine.

Megan can be housed with children over 5 who would give her time to get used to them but would not like a busy, noisy house.

Megan currently ignores toys but does like to try and play with other selected dogs which is lovely to see. She does find young dogs and high energy dogs overwhelming.

Megan currently sleeps downstairs with another dog all curled up together and spends most of the day like this.

House training is very much a work in progress and Megan needs to be taken out often and encouraged to toilet. She does not like being left on her own in the garden so you will need to go with her and hold her paw till she feels safe. Once she has, she would like a nice tasty treat and lots of verbal praise to tell her how good she is. If access to the garden is not available, she will use a puppy pad.

Megan loves her food and is happy to share a licky mat and treats.

Megan needs a home with another dog who can teach and guide her on her adventures to come. A dog who won’t mind cuddling and will play with her but not be too over the top. She can live with children, but she would not like a busy, noisy household. As she emerges form her shell of a past she will learn to trust and love and play with her owners but she is only going to do that with another dog showing her how and patient owners who will love her unconditionally.

Rosie D2023-30

  • Needs a resident dog
  • Dog savvy children
  • Loving an patient family to help her grow

Rosie is an 8 year old Bichon cross toy poodle described by her foster mum as a quiet, gentle and sweet natured little girl. She  enjoys being picked up and one of her favourite things is being cuddle by you. She has not attempted to jump on the sofa or climb the stairs yet.

She is not a fan of the outdoors as she is worried, she is going to be locked out and left. She will have a little wander around the garden but likes to go straight back in. Rosie doesn’t currently play with toys but will initiate play with other dogs in the home.

Rosie walks lovely on a lead and is not reactive to noises, dogs or people that she meets when out and about. She just likes to plod along, not even sniffing or weeing yet just following the person she trusts. Despite enjoying her walks she isn’t super active so is not going to want to go on long hikes up mountains but some nice walks are just what she needs.

Rosie eats well and sleeps all night down stairs curled up with her puppy mate. She is becoming more independent every day. She has started to relax and show real progress in her foster home. She is initially a little wary of strangers that enter the home, but if ignored she will come and ask for attention by doing a little cheeky hand nudging asking for affection or food.

She is not cat or small furry tested but due to her quiet nature and with gentle introductions we think she would be fine.

Rosie currently sleeps downstairs with the other dogs curled up together but would probably love to be on the bed with her forever human.

Toilet training is a work in progress and her new family are going to need to be very patient with her taking her out at regular intervals, singing the wee wee song and giving treats when she has done what she heeds to do. She is also not currently a fan of the rain or getting wet so positively encouraging her to go outside and toilet when its dry will help her when its wet.

Rosie needs a home with another dog. A patient family to help her learn the house rules and lots of love, support and cuddles. This is her chance for a new life and she is looking for her forever family that will give her the life she has never had.

Poppy D2023-23

  • Can be an only dog
  • Can also live with a dog who will share their human
  • Can be homed with sensible children
  • Owners need to be around most of the time and help her with her separation anxiety

Poppy is 3 years and 10 month old cockerpoo who has found herself in foster due to no fault of her own. She has clearly been a well loved and socialised dog. She loves all people and is very human focussed. In the home she likes to be snuggled up on the sofa close to her humans and if you leave the room she will more often than not follow you and seek you out to check you’re doing ok without her lol. She enjoys her walks and is happy to meet people and other dogs She will bark excitedly at them in the distance and then greets them with a waggy tail and wiggly body. Visitors to the home are also welcomed enthusiastically. She is a happy girl who is at her happiest when humans are around.

Poppy is a confident girl who has settled remarkably well in her foster home. She is a real cuddle bunny. Her cheeky side is starting to come out and she will steal your slippers and socks and run around the room with them happily showing off her new prize possessions.

Not cat or small furry tested

Poppy can be rehomed with children of all ages.

Poppy will occasionally play with toys but does not engage with the other dogs in her foster home preferring her humans to play alongside her. She likes you to throw balls and toys for her to chase.

Poppy sleeps on the bed with her foster mum and another dog. She snuggles up close and sleeps through the night without a peep. If you are someone who doesn’t like dogs on the bed then Poppy is not the dog for you. She cannot be crated.

Poppy is fully housetrained

Poppy gets along fine with the two other dogs in her foster home. She can grumble a little if one of the dogs wants to share a lap but she does accept it. She eats with the other dogs but has to be watched closely because if she finishes first she will try her luck with the other dogs food which could be a problem with food aggressive dogs. She will however take turns at treat time.

Poppy is a lovely sweet natured dog who needs a family that will make her the focus of their life. She would suit being an only dog but could be rehomed with another dog as long as they were happy to let her share the attention. She is not super active but loves her daily walks in the woods so will need someone who is happy to give her exercise at least twice a day. She loves human attention but this does come with some separation anxiety when she is left. She will need a home where someone is not only home most of the day but also has the time to work with her to help her to settle. I think she will always be somewhat of a velcro dog but who wouldn’t want constant cuddles from this adorable little pupster. She has been a delight to foster and I’m sure she will bring equal joy to whoever is lucky enough to adopt her.

Amy D2023-06

  • Needs a resident dog that is happy to cuddle
  • Good with cats
  • Older teenage children
  • Patient owners with time to devote to her

Amy is a 4 year old Bichon Frise who is very much a work in progress. She has not had a great start in life and is very nervous of most things. She is improving daily but her whole world has changed and she needs time to change with it. She will wag her tail when she sees the other dogs being fussed and give little cries as she’s desperate for love but hasn’t the confidence to make that move just yet.

She is still nervous of human contact and has just started sniffing a hand that is gently offered to her to try and build up trust. She will sleep next to us on the sofa cuddled up to her favourite dog, but will make sure she out of reach of humans. She is nervous of new visitors to the house and will take herself off to another room or a quiet place to listen and observe if she feels brave.

Amy is not yet ready to venture out into the big wide world and wearing a harness is a little daunting for her but she is trying to be brave and is still looking for her big girl super pants. She will get there and just needs time.

Amy has a super power in that she loves to rip up pieces of cardboard into tiny pieces with the other dogs. They are so good at this that foster mum is thinking of starting a confetti business but they are demanding too may treetos as payment so this plan currently on hold. It does however show that she is starting to relax and feel comfortable enough to drop her defences and play or make mischief a little.

Amy loves to run and chase the other dogs but hasn’t got the hang of playing she just enjoys the freedom of being able to run around and gets excited by it all. She cries when the other dogs move away from her as she is desperate for the company.

She will be a cheeky girl when she starts to relax and realise humans are not all bad as the expression on her face is so cute at times that cheeky dog is just waiting to come out. She lives with a cat with no problems but hasn’t met any other furries

Amy hasn’t met any children and due to her demeanour we would recommend teenagers who are dog savvy. When young children visited the foster home She didn’t like the noise and took herself off to another room whilst they visited.

Amy knows nothing of toys but loves a sock to play with and chew.

Amy sleeps on her foster mum’s bed with the other dogs in the house. She always has one eye open to make sure she’s safe. She is quiet all night and very still.

Toilet training is a work in progress she needs to be reminded to go out often. She does not like going on her own or being shut put so you have to go with her to keep her company and then give lots of praise and a small treat when she has been.

Amy loves, loves, loves her food (well what girl doesn’t) but will eat everyone else’s if left. She is fed separate and we would recommend a slow feeder so she does not inhale it. She is not food aggressive. She loves treats but these have to be thrown for her which is a great way to start training by throwing the food and she looks to you for more. Every time she looks at you a good girl is always appreciated so she starts to associate people with good words and treats.

Amy needs a patient home with another dog or dogs so she can learn to dog. The dog needs to be happy that Amy is going to want to cuddle them and they are going to need to be Maverick to her Goose until she gets her confidence. When Amy is ready she would love some exercise and adventures. She needs people who are around most of the day to help her confidence.

Betty D2022-140

  • To be an only dog
  • Not cat tested
  • Older dog savvy children
  • Breed knowledgeable owners

Betty has no current health issues however any potential adopter should be aware of common Frenchie medical issues and have researched insurance cover fully.

Betty is not cat or small furry tested

Betty would be best with older children and as an only dog as she likes her own space.

Betty will play with soft toys and squeaks, she prefers not to share toys with other dogs.

Betty sleeps downstairs in a comfy dog bed with no issues.

She is house trained although new owners may have to work on this if it’s a new home initially as there may be a settling in period of accidents.

Betty prefers to eat on her own without others around and loves treats although food and treats are all grain free to prevent any skin issues which frenchies are prone to.

Betty needs a frenchie experienced home, or a home that has fully researched the breed and can show knowledge of this when interrogated. A family or couple with someone home majority of the day for lots of play and cuddles.

Davey D2023-15

Okay so you are going to have to bear with me on this one as its going to take a bit of imagination but our Davey is a lovely 5 year old Poodle who if he was a character would be Bilbo Baggins. You know the little one who eventually saves the day in those really long films. I can hear you asking why and Oh god here she goes again but stick with me.

Davey thinks he is unworthy, unloved and underwhelming in the story of his own life where in fact he is the most amazing little man who needs to find his side kick and supportive family to get the best out of him. Terrified of his own shadow and believing that he is crap under pressure he would prefer to stay in his own little bubble and not meet anyone or do any exploring in the big wide world. He wasn’t happy where he was but it was all he knew and a cold floor and food occasionally was what he thought he deserved, but he doesn’t Davey deserves the world and he will see that one day. Its just at the moment all he sees is scary people and scary things.

Small noisy people who want to touch him as he looks cute and fluffy scare him but children who sit and read to him and wait for him to come to them are interesting and maybe just maybe if they keep reading him stories he will like and trust them.

Outside the door of his Hobbit hole Davey thinks the world is going to kill him or the door is going to be shut and he is going to be abandoned cold and alone again so he’s not sure if he wants to go out there. If his mate Samwise (well you get it another dog) goes with him and holds his paw then that would be okay as Sam is brave and Davey can be brave too.

He has seen the other dogs wearing collars and harness and leads and whilst the other dogs seem excited to be going on adventures and outside Davey thinks these things are instruments of torture and it’s going to take time to convince him.

Davey has also seen the others playing with round, squeaky and nosy things and although he doesn’t like it the others seem to like it so its going to be okay right. Well maybe in time.

Now as for these 2 legged giant things that keep telling him he is loved and safe he thinks they are lying as Davey has never had anyone on his side and rooting for him to succeed before but the other dogs they seem to like them. They are a source of food and when they pet the others, they seem to like it so maybe just maybe they are going to be okay so he’s starting to seek attention and maybe he will just poke a toe outside of the bubble and see if it really is safe.

I know I’ve written this in a really weird way and I appreciate you tolerating me but Davey really is like Bilbo Baggins. One day he is going to be great and brave and everything he should have always been but he needs a family and an adventure buddy who will help him get there. It’s not going to happen overnight but as the days and weeks pass, he will gain in confidence and being part of that journey will be soooooooooo rewarding. Davey needs you to have patience and faith in him that he will get there one day. I cant wait to tell him that a family has come forward to be brave enough for him until he finds his paws. Thanks for reading and not just looking at his cute picture.

Davey needs

  • A resident dog or dogs
  • Can live with a dog savvy cat
  • Teenage children
  • A family to be brave for him

Pele D2023-14

  • Can be an only dog
  • Could also live with a laid back female
  • Older dog savvy children
  • Would prefer an adult only home with quiet walks and candlelit dinners.

Pele is a 5 year old Cocker Spaniel described by his foster mum as a charming little man who wheedles his way into your heart with his sofa hogging cuddles and nuzzles for attention. He loves nothing more than a good ol’ scritch whilst sat beside you on the sofa.

Pele can sometimes be a little suspicious if he thinks someone is ‘coming for him’ and foster mum has been working hard to help him understand that he has autonomy, and it’s his decision whether or not he is petted, moved, or if someone can sit near him etc.

Pele has not met strangers outside of the house as he is not confident on-lead enough to go walkies yet so is practicing in the garden.

He is happy and confident taking food from a hand and is happy to eat around others.

Not cat or small furry tested

Pele hasn’t met any children but we would recommend sensible dog savvy children.

Pele has very regular opportunities to toilet outside, so he doesn’t ask to go out because he doesn’t need to.  He is invited to go outside when he comes out from his crate in the morning, last thing at night, and very regularly throughout the day.

Despite initially being heavily reliant on foster mums’ dog he has now found his feet and can take or leave another dog. Although he does seek out doggy companionship on the sofa and dog beds if foster mum is ‘not available. Pele prefers to be with humans when they are available and he has recently become just a tad precious about ‘who gets all the fusses’ so this over attachment is being worked on as it’s not good for him.

Pele watches the other dogs play with teddies, squeakies, squidgies, tuggies balls etc with incredulity rather than interest, he clearly doesn’t ‘get it’ yet. But is beginning to show mild curiosity with tennis balls and sock dolls when he’s engaged by the humans. He has just been introduced to a snuffle mat – and he likes it! He’s flying solo with it; it’s not a group activity and he loves it.

Pele will need a crate in his forever home as this is his safe space when his humans are absent. Left free-roaming he shows signs of being anxious but uses his crate to settle himself until his slaves return. He is also now electing to enjoy settle-time in his crate (door open) without prompting if humans are not available to him on the sofa, and a well proportioned crate will be an absolute must-have for him in his new home. Left to his own devices now Pele alternates between the sofa and his crate for his quiet time, and he clearly sees it as a safe, comfy, chillaxing spot.

Pele needs an adult only home where he can get lots of attention but not indulge him in his need for humans. He can be an only dog or live with a chilled female for cuddles when the humans are busy. He has fairly low energy levels and enjoy a quiet life but will still need to go for walks when he is ready to start exploring. Outside doggy friends will also be good for his confidence.

Tomos D2023-08

  • Can be an only dog with doggy friends
  • Can live with another gentle dog
  • Dog savvy children
  • Not cat tested

Tom is very curious 9 year old Springer Spaniel and in the home he likes following people around and is very friendly to all he meets. His favourite thing is having a nice cwtch on sofa. Tom isn’t shy anymore and when people come over he makes his presence known wanting attention and smooths he’s very gentle and doesn’t jump up on people.

Tom wears a harness and lead on a walk and is comfortable wearing this. He is exited to go out and does pull which is being worked on. He’s just excited to go out and explore. He doesn’t react to people or other dogs and will come in close to you when being approached by strangers. He has recently been for a run at an enclosed dog field and enjoyed having a gentle run about and a good old sniff.

He had really blossomed recently and is becoming curious and is getting very cheeky, especially when preparing food in the hope of a treat.

Not cat or small furry tested.

Tom has been great around children and is gentle with foster mum’s dog savvy child who is 6. He can be with dog savvy children that know to give him space when he’s sleeping and wants a bit of time out.

Tom has been known to fetch a ball and has shown more interest in playing with toys when encouraged.

Tom currently sleeps in the living room he does have a little moan but quickly settles for the night.

Tom is house trained and will make it known if he wants the toilet by circling and pacing the room.

Tom loves his food so much that he has been introduced to a slow feeding bowl which has been great. He loves dog treats and takes them gently.

Currently he is in a busy foster home so there’s always something going on and he copes with this well. Tom could adapt well to a family who can take him on a little daily walk. He isn’t hyper active and could possibly have a laid back dog with him as a cuddle buddy when his owners aren’t around. He could also live on his own with lots of attention and lots of doggy friends.

Miles D-2023-09

  • To be an only dog
  • Older dog savvy children
  • Not cat or small furry tested
  • Quiet home where he can be centre of attention

Miles or Miles of smiles as we call him is a 9 year old Spaniel described by his foster family as a very loving and affectionate little man. He has the best Spaniel smile you have ever seen and it just makes you fall in love with him even more. After all who doesn’t love a dog who always smiles at you when you see them.

He loves attention from anyone and is always wagging his tail. He likes nothing more than being fussed and will smile while you pay him attention, he is very obedient and will often just lie in his bed or on the floor to chill and watch his human potter about.

Miles can be a little guarded when it comes to his food and it appears he may have been bullied for food previously. He is fed away from the other dogs and he is much better and more relaxed. He has no interest in toys and is just happy to sit and lap up the affection from his humans.

Miles is walked on a harness and after the initial excitement of having his harness on and leaving the house he walks lovely and is happy to stroll along beside you and sniff. When out he will pull towards other dogs but this is out of curiosity. He does not bark at other dogs when out. He can also be a little more nervous of people he meets when out walking.

No cat or small furry tested.

House if fully house trained

Miles has said he would like a quiet home with gentle walks. His current home is very busy and whilst he copes very well he would like it to be a little quieter. When its busy he just takes himself off to his bed and watches everyone go about their business. At night he sleeps in his own bed.

Norma D2023-667

  • Needs a resident dog
  • Cat savvy
  • Children 8 and over
  • Owners to help her adjust and learn to be a dog

Norma is a 10 month old Cavashon described by her foster mum as the most loving, sociable little dog who adores humans and other dogs. She craves human attention and is very sweet. She loves nothing more than a cuddle and a smooth. She needs to make sure you are near and will jump on the settee to be with you placing her paw on you as if to say here I am smooth me please. So if your sofa proud Norma is definitely not the girl for you. She sleeps on the bed and will snuggle right into you, she’s like a little hot water bottle. She’s sleeps all night and has no accidents. She’ let’s you know when she needs the toilet and will stand by the door to be let out. You will need to go out the garden with her she won’t go out to toilet on her own yet this will come she just needs time and patience.

Norma would definitely need another dog of similar size that she can continue to learn from. She currently lives with two dogs and a cat. She will go out the garden for two seconds on her own and come straight back in but if one of the dogs go out with her she will follow them and copy them. She is starting to eat out of a bowl

Norma will follow other dogs out the garden and has played a little bit with one of the dogs. It’s still very early days for her and she is still learning. She has not been out on a walk as such but she has been to foster mums’ daughters who has a very big garden and three other dogs and she absolutely had the best time. She was happy and contented pottering around sniffing and following the others.

Norma is still shy and a bit nervous but is the most sweetest girl. She will watch to see what your up to and will come to you and follow you like a little shadow. She’s still learning how to be the dog she should have been. She has no idea what a dog toy is or what a dog treat is but I’m sure with time she will love them. She has been left for short periods of time approximately 15 minutes at a time and she gets a bit stressed but with time patience and the right family this will improve.

Norma currently lives with a dog savvy cat and pays no attention to her.

It’s really sad because she’s only a puppy and has no idea what a dog toy is but I’m sure she will learn. Foster mums dog initiated play and she joined in although not for long but she did have a go.

Norma is fine when you put a harness on and she lets you clip on the lead but she’s not sure about it when it’s time to go for a walk so this is a work in progress and she is practicing in the garden.

Norma would be best suited for a family with another resident dog and can spend time with her to help her grow in confidence. Someone who is home most of the time because she does get stressed when she’s left but in time when she learns your going to come back she will get used to being left a little longer. She could live with gentle, kind and patient children 8 and over who would let her come to them to be loved. She would also need to be allowed on the settee. She would ideally like to sleep on the bed with her humans or at least sleep in the same room but we think she would jump on the bed and you wouldn’t have a choice but to cuddle her. She would also like a lovely soft dog bed and some extra soft blankets as she has discovered a love for soft beds and pillows, so much better than a hard concrete floor with hay and sawdust. She’s never been to a beach or on holiday so that would be absolutely fantastic.

Martin D2023-3

  • Needs a calm resident dog of a similar size for confidence
  • Children 10 and over
  • Cat tested but will chase
  • Loving family who will help develop his confidence

Martin is a 20 month old whippet described by his foster mum as a sensitive soul that has led a sheltered life. He loves to follow foster mum around and see what she is up to and learn what this big new world is about. He also loves to curl up on the sofa and sleep. He is starting to learn what cuddles are and is staring to like them especially if there is a cuddly blanket involved.

Martin is starting to get used to new people coming to the home and will greet them with a gentle tail wag. If he is unsure of the person, he will retreat to his safe space which is his cage until he feels safe. He is currently more comfortable around women and calm children than men but this is being worked on and he is getting better every day. As said if scared he will hide in his crate which isn’t very often.

As Martin’s confidence grows, he is slowly becoming a little more mischievous when alone and will take things or find things to test, chew or eat. He doesn’t yet play but shows signs of a dog that might when his confidence grows. Currently when he is excited, he chases his tail which is very cute and curious. Foster mum is encouraging him to play with toys but this is going to take a little time and when he feels safe and loved. Currently his favourite treat is pigs ears or meaty treats and chips. He gets very interested when the family have chips!!

Martin has met small children but is not totally at ease with them as they scare him so we would recommend children over 10. He is cat tested and if they run he will chase but stops when told no, if they don’t run he just walks straight past. He is curious of them more than anything.

In the outside world Martin is reserved and shy. He walks well on a harness and is fine with larger well behaved dogs but is scared of smaller and barking dogs and will try to pull away or freeze on the spot. His new owners must make sure that whilst Martin finds his paws that they are his bodyguard. Martin does not currently like busy, crowded places and will need gradual introductions so he feels safe and comfortable.

He enjoys time in the garden (well not lately with the nonstop rain) but when its dry he likes a good sniff around but if next doors dogs bark he will run inside.

Martin would like a home with an active family and he enjoys running a would love long walks in quiet places. Too much noise can make him jumpy and nervous and he’s going to need lots of positive interactions, walks and fun to be the dog he was always meant to be.

George D2023-666

So paws up how many people here has seen Disney’s Bolt. You know the high energy dog who thinks he’s a superhero and is the star of his own action adventure, trying to save his beloved human from bad guys. Well we’ve found Bolts stunt double and his name is George. He may be a little smaller in size but is still full of high energy, needs to be an action-adventure super hero saving the world with his beloved family kind of dog. George is a 9 week old Pomeranian cross Pug pint sized action hero. This is no handbag dog. (Teach him manners with positive reinforcement). As we know from tales as old as time, sometimes super heroes without guidance can turn into super villains. Think Syndrome from The Incredibles without training, guidance and a loving family things can quickly go wrong so Georges family needs to see past his pint sized frame and treat him like the big personality he is.

George is strong willed, super smart and is already using puppy pads and getting to grips with basic commands. He really does need that dog savvy family to keep him on the straight and narrow. He does not like cats. He can be homed with sensible children who will enjoy taking him to puppy school to learn together how to behave. He can also live with another dog or be an only dog with lots of doggy friends.

So let’s recap

  • To be adopted on a neutering and training agreement
  • Can be an only dog with lots of doggy friends
  • Can also live with other dogs
  • No to cats

Max D2023-02

  • Can be an only dog
  • Can live with other dogs
  • Older dog savvy children
  • Not cat or small furry
  • Super active, adventure family who can show him the world.

Max is a 15 month old extremely energetic and intelligent Sprocker who loves people and sees them as givers of fuss and or food. He has been happy to meet everyone who has come to foster mum’s home after he has decided is it safe to approach. He was initially quite nervous when he arrived in foster and spent a lot of time in his cage where he felt safe but now, he’s happy to join everyone else. He still has his safe spot where he will go if he needs time to himself but has enjoyed fitting into his foster family.

Max walks well on a lead and if he sees people coming, he will sit and wait. He is a very gentle but inquisitive little man who is cautious when meeting new people or animals which can never be a bad thing. When meeting new people and dogs his whole body shakes in time with his tail as he’s happy to meet them. With this friendly but cautious approach his new owners need to make sue that all interactions with people and other dogs are positive ones to keep him a happy little man.

Max has discovered that he is not just contained to one room and that there are other rooms to explore in the home and has been putting his sniffer to good use. He can climb the stairs and jump onto foster mums’ bed to join in the night time dog huddle and has learnt that foster mums lap is a good place to get cuddles.

Max enjoys running after the resident dogs in the garden and loves to chase a ball. Foster mums says he’s a right little ball thief and will chase a ball anywhere inside or out. Sometimes he has collected so many balls and taken them to his bed that he looks like he’s sitting on eggs, all happy and proud.

He is housetrained and taught himself to use the dog door by watching the resident dogs so is very smart and quick to learn.

Not tested with cats or small mammals but good with small dogs.

Max will suit a family with older children over the age of 12 or adults only.

Max needs an active home where he can learn new things. Someone who maybe wants a running partner or would like to learn or already knows an active dog activity such as agility or Cani-cross. Someone who really does want an adventure buddy to climb mountains and go on adventures. He’s a lovely little man who just needs gentle guidance, love and support to blossom into the little man we all know he can be.

Neya Rivera D2023-01-13

  • Can be an only dog
  • Could live with other dogs as long as she gets all the attention
  • Older dog savvy children as shes clumsy
  • No cats
  • Dog savvy family with a sense of humour

Neya is a very bubbly 18 month old Bull Dog described by her foster mum as a friendly girl who loves people and children and is happy to be made a fuss of. She is like a big cuddly bear at home and will happily let you pamper her all the time.

Neya is happiest just pottering and having a sniff around the garden and can be quite playful with a ball when the mood takes her. She hasn’t mastered picking it up and bringing it back to be thrown again, yet but its on her list of things to learn in 2023.

Medical history to be discussed.

She’s not had much experience with other dogs in the garden at home but as she shows them little interest when out and about, there is no concern about her not accepting another if they visit. She hasn’t played with other dogs but may if one interests her.

She is very well behaved on walks but is only really suited to short walks. She walks lovely on a lead and is happy to have a sniff and interact with other dogs she meets but has no desire to be following another dog around. She is quite happy as an only dog and is happy to just stroll along at her own pace.

Neya loves her food and given the chance would probably steal your pizza when you least expect it. So, beware of the food monster.

Neya is learning that cats find her a bit of a threat, in her defence we don’t think she would harm a cat, but she’s very inquisitive and will approach them in her bulldog way which is upsetting the resident cats.

Neya requires a dog loving home as she is full of love and likes to cuddle a lot and can be quite needy. She sleeps downstairs so there is no need to take her to bed with you. We would recommend a family where children are 6+ as she can be quite clumsy and bump into you by accident. A family who are fun with a sense of humour and possibly work from home for the majority of the time as she does cry if she thinks you are abandoning her. She likes a walk but won’t be suitable for a very active family who like to walk a lot.

Cookie D2022-192

  • Needs a resident dog to help her adjust
  • Loves to cuddle cats
  • Older dog savvy children
  • Loving family who will help her adjust to her new life and shower her with love and cuddles.

Cookie is a 2 year old Toy Parti Poodle described by her foster mum as a very affectionate little girl who loves the resident dogs and cat and will snuggle up to all three of them when sleeping. She is still a little shy with humans but with patience she will get there. She is also still a little hand shy with her humans but once you have picked her up and feels safe she loves to cuddle next to you.

She has not been on any walks as of yet as she is not fully vaccinated. She has been on a harness and lead in the garden and although unsure she is very much willing to learn. Were sure once she has settled and feels safe she will love exploring the world outside.

Toilet training is ongoing and she is almost there but she does not like the rain (it makes her go all curly). She has learnt to use the dog flap to go back and fore the garden and is really just so cute you could just cuddle her all day.

Currently she likes to graze with her food and prefers wet food to kibble.

She is a little nervous when in the car but this will improve once she knows she is going exciting places. She was very well behaved in the groomers and they all fell in love with her.

Currently she sleeps in her foster mums’ bed with the other dogs and sleeps all night cuddled up to foster mums back.

Cookie is very nervous of small people but has been okay with older dog savvy children.

She is brill with our cat she will cuddle with him but has not been with small furries.

Cookie in the home is not at all destructive and loves to sleep on the couch when her foster family are there but when they go out she stays in a dog bed with the other dogs and cat.

Cookie needs a home with a resident dog for company and to help her adjust. She is going to need further training and socialisation to help her adjust to her new life. She would like someone that it home for most of the time and will lavish her with love and attention.

  • Could be an only dog if owners home most of the time
  • Could live with another dog who wont mind sharing belly rubs
  • No cats
  • Dog savvy children
  • Loving parents with knowledge of the breed

Tatoe is a 6 year old Frenchie described by her foster mum as a very affectionate little lady who loves company and likes to be close to her human.

She enjoys her walks and toilets outside.

She like people especially if they fuss her!. She is a total love bug who loves cuddles and tummy rubs.

She has met children when out walking with no problems so could be rehomed with dog savvy children.

She has only seen cats from a distance on walks and pulled towards them so would probably be better with no cats.

She is toilet trained and is happy to be left for short periods.

She is well behaved in the home with no issues.

She is good on the lead but can be a bit nervous of noisy vehicles.

Tatoe is a typical Frenchie who loves being with her people. She would prefer to be an only dog so she can monopolise your attention but could live with another laid back dog. Merry D2022-201

Merry is a beautiful 6 month old bouncy and loving Labrador puppy who is desperate to be loved. She is a little timid, but doesn’t take long to come out of her shell, especially if there is chicken in the vicinity. She loves cuddles and playtime and just wants to hang out with you and be close.

Merry loves her food and is easy to train for a reward. She also loves her toys and especially enjoys interactive play. She is quiet and gentle and if foster mum didn’t already have her hands full she would have been snapped up.

Merry was attacked by another dog not so long ago which has caused her to loose a leg. The loss of a leg has not stopped her but it has knocked her confidence in other dogs and the outside world. She is going to need positive interactions when meeting other dogs in the outside world. She can bark with nervousness when she sees others but using distraction and support, Merry calms down and is then able to interact nicely, with a lovely gentle manner. Currently all the neighbours have been on board to help Merry re-build her confidence.

Not cat or small furry tested.

We would also recommend older dog savvy children due to her bouncy nature and lack of socialisation.

Merry is very loving and a pleasure to have a round but is a typical puppy with a loving, playful nature who is into everything and wants to follow you around and wants to be part of everything.

Merry is working hard on building her confidence. She finds everything a challenge in the outside world and needs support, training, patience and kindness, with time and training, she will be an absolute super star.

Merry needs a loving home where the family have the time, love, patience and understanding to help her build her confidence and become the absolute superstar she was meant to be.

Wilfy D2022-001

  • Can be an only dog with lots of interactions
  • Could live with other dogs where owners are aware of sausage dog traits
  • No cats
  • Older teenage children
  • Owners aware of Dachshund traits

Wilfy is a gorgeous 2 year old standard wirehaired dachshund who is convinced he’s a puppy. He has huge brown eyes and loves a snuggle especially on your lap. He loved his chew toys that santa paws got for him and has been having great fun with them.

He has no known health issues and has been a lovely houseguest. He is fully house trained and enjpys spending time in the garden.

Wilfy is not good with cats and will chase them if they run so we would not recommend he be rehomed with cats. He has also not experienced positive interactions around small children so will not be rehomed with them he can however be rehomed with older sensible teenage children.

Wilfy loves to walk and be out and about. He walks great on a lead and bounces along like a little tigger finding interesting sniffs.

He responds to his name in the garden and around the house but has not been off lead as he will need time to settle with his permanent owners.

He appears to know his basic commands and loves nothing better than to show you so he can be heaped with praise. He really is a little dog who loves to please.

He enjoys a tummy rub and a rough and tumble with his foster siblings but can get carried away if not supervised. Like all big kids he just gets over excited.

Wilfy needs a home with an older family who like walking and can keep his interest levels up. He can live with another dog or as an only dog. Wilfy is very puppy like and needs play to be monitored as he hasn’t learnt normal boundaries with other dogs. He just needs time and positive guidance.

Butter D-2022-194

*      Could be an only dog

*      Could also live with a resident dog who won’t bully him

*       Not cat or small furry tested

*       Could live with older teenage children

*      Needs a home where he will be adored and loved

Butter is a 7 year old Mini toy poodle with a sweet loving nature. He is very quiet when you first meet him but after he settles, he is the most cwtchy little man. He is quite content to spend the whole time curled up on the sofa on his own or next to you and if you put him in a dog bed he is back up on the sofa waiting for you before you can get there. He is like a little lightning bolt to get back to his comfy space.

Due to butter having the most awful teeth when he came into foster he has had all his teeth removed. This however does not stop him

Butter has been picked on by other dogs in the past and can be quite timid to start but he wont stand any nonsense from them when pushed too far. He has also previously been pushed away from his food so will now growl at others if they get too close. To make sure he can relax when eating we would recommend that he is fed on his own.

He walks lovely on the lead outside but has never seen much so is wary of his surroundings. He is nervous of unknown dogs so his new pawrents need to make sure they keep him safe and he has positive interactions. Its important he gets out to explore the world and build those muscles to race you to bed.

Toilet training is a work in progress and he needs to be carried into the garden as he is terrified you will shut the door on him and lock him out. This will get better in time he just needs to feel loved.

He is not cat or small furry tested and could live with older teenage children who can cuddle and read to him.

Butter currently sleeps in a crate with another dog and sleeps all night. Due to lack of muscle he is currently unable to climb the stairs but be warned once he has built his strength and found his paws we bet he will be in bed before you.

Butter could be an only dog where his owner is around most of the time or live with another dog who doesn’t mind that butter is going to want to be permanently attached to you until he feels safe and loved. He just wants to be snuggled up to someone without getting trodden on

Brandy D2022-195

  • Can be an only dog where owner is around most of the time
  • Can live with other dogs
  • Not cat or small furry tested
  • Older dog savvy children
  • Very cuddly dog who loves his human
  • Needs time to decompress

Brandy is a 9 Year old Toy poodle described by his foster mum as a special little man with a lovely temperament. Despite his age he is spritely and loves throwing toys around but will settle down for a snooze and belly rubs. After food his most favourite thing is being stroked and fussed.

When he came into foster his teeth were in a terrible state so what he had left were removed however this does not stop him eating and he feels much better for a nice clean mouth. Currently his favourite food is sausages which he devours with gusto.

He is outwardly confident about most things but can initially be nervous of strangers and likes to take his time getting to know them. Even when he knows them and has seen them numerous times, he can still bark at initial greeting but will settle. He’s just a little anxious at the moment and will take time till he feels loved and safe.

He walks on a lead well and enjoys going for a stroll and sniff. It’s important he stays active now at his time of life but he won’t be climbing any mountains. He does bark at strange dogs as he hasn’t been out and about much but once told and checked he does calm and will say hello. Its important that all his encounters when out and about are positive and it will be his parents’ responsibility to keep him safe.

Brandy does not like being alone and looks for his human to be around most of the time. He gets anxious when left and will bark and pace even if left with other dogs. This is being worked on and will need to continue in his forever home. We are confident that this will lessen when he is more settled as all he wants to do is please you.

He has been a great house guest and has toileted outside when given ample opportunity to do so. He is not destructive or nawty. He currently sleeps in a crate and will sleep all night This is mainly as he hasn’t any muscles to climb the stairs so be warned when he can he may be right there with you snuggled in tight.

Brandy currently is a worried little man who needs to feel safe and loved and to be introduced to the world again slowly. He needs positive interactions to build his confidence and time to decompress. When he knows you, he adores you and needs to be close to you. He could live with other dogs or be an only dog where his human is home most of the time.

Greta D2022-184

  • Needs a resident dog to learn from
  • Not cat tested
  • Older dog savvy children
  • Patient owners as she is a work in progress and needs time to adjust

Greta is a 5 year old King Charles Cavalier described by her foster mum as a very special girl who is slowly adjusting to her new life. Currently all she likes to do is sleep and watch what is going on. She isn’t interested in playing and is enjoying following the resident dog around to see what this living in a house in like. Given time and love she will make a lovely family pet.

She is currently scared of people but will come and sit next to her foster family when she feels ready. Seeing the resident dog interact with her foster family is giving her confidence to try and be brave. She hasn’t been around any children in her foster home but judging on how she is currently reacting to noise and movement she would not like to live with small children but would be fine with older dog savvy children.

She has not been tested with cats or small furries.

Despite her nervousness she does however love her food and this is going to help in winning her over. She needs to be watched when eating or she will try and steal the other dog’s food and mind your own food too as this is also fair game if left unattended. Being a little food thief is quite common due to where she has have come from and does get better as she learns she will get fed regularly. She also loves treats and this is helping in teaching her new things and as a reward for good behaviour.

Toilet training is a work in progress and she needs to be taken out regularly to build up a routine and get some of those yummy treats when she comes back in and has been a good girl. Positive reinforcement and lots of positive experiences is what this young lady needs now.

She’s not been out and about as she’s awaiting her 2nd vaccination and her foster family have said she is not ready yet to attempt a harness and lead. She needs time and patience and a fur friend to help her adjust.

Greta is a special lady and needs a special family who will give her the time she needs to help her learn how to be a much-loved pet. She could live with older dog savvy children and needs a sensible resident dog to show her the way. She is a work in progress and just needs time and patience.

Cindy Lou D2022-200

  • Needs a resident dog
  • Older teenage children
  • Dog savvy cat
  • Patient family with someone home most of the time
  • Needs time to decompress and is a work in progress.

Cindy-Lou is a very pretty 7 year old shih-tzu described by her foster mum as nervous and scared of her own shadow. It is going to take time for her to learn to trust and she will need patience to allow her to come to you. She is growing in confidence every day and her cheeky little character is starting to come out. She will steal a bag of treats to hide in her basket as soon as your back is turned if she has the opportunity.

She is beautifully natured and would require a stable quiet adult only or older children family, to give her the time she needs to allow her to shine. She will be very easy to fall in love with and once she feels loved and safe the sky will be the limit for this little girl.

She is curious about cats but does not intentionally mean them any harm.

In the home she is very quiet at the moment. She will occasionally come out of her basket to investigate and were confident that given time and when she feels settled she will be a very loving pet to the right family.

She will need regular walks to explore the big wide world. Toilet training is ongoing and she regularly needs to be taken out and given the opportunity to toilet with a lot of praise when she does.

This beautiful lady is currently scared of everything but will surprisingly walk nicely on the lead in the daytime. At night times she is a bit more reluctant to go and needs a bit of practice and encouragement. She needs training and socialising on a regular basis to enable her to enjoy her walks. If there is a resident dog it’s advisable to take them together so she can continue to see that it’s right to go to the toilet outside.

Cindy Lou needs a quiet family home who can give her plenty of love and cuddles to give her some confidence in people. She needs a resident dog that she can watch and learn from. She needs patience to allow her to decompress and adapt to her surroundings. She would do better where someone is home most of the time.
