Thank you to everyone who applied for Sadie, it has been a difficult task selecting the home for Sadie with so many wonderful home offers.

Name: Sadie

Age: 10 months

Breed: Cavalier King Charles Spaniel – Tricolour

Can I live with Children?: Dog savvy children only

Can I live with cats?: No

Can I live with other dogs?: Yes, a resident dog is a must

Fostered In: South Wales

Sadie is a 10-month old Cavalier King Charlies who is being fostered in South Wales After a horrible start in life, Sadie is responding well to love and attention. Sadie thrives in the company other dogs and loves been in their company. She enjoys human company and is happiest on the settee having a snuggle.

People – Sadie is very nervous and unsure when she meets new people but she is improving every day and will soon gain her full Cavalier loving nature. Sadie is initially fearful if you try to touch or catch her as she likes to make the first move. Children will need to be dog savvy and respect her space as she adjusts.

Dogs –  Sadie is happy around other dogs and will need a resident dog to help her adjust to her new life

Cats – Sadie barks at cats

In the home – Sadie is progressing well with her house training but it is still a work in progress. She can be left for short periods as long as she has the company of another dog. She still jumps at strange noises but improvement is ongoing.

Out and about – Walking on a lead is new to Sadie so is a work in progress. The big wide world is full of unusual noises that are strange to her.

Type of home – Sadie needs a home with another playful dog as she loves to play. Sadie is a fast learner and due to her age adapts quickly. We are looking for a home where her humans are around for most of the day as this will help with her ongoing socialisation and housetraining. She will need a patient owner who is willing to go at her pace and work with her with regard to lead walking etc.

Sadie is not neutered as she has just come out of season so commitment to neuter will be required and followed up.  She is chipped, vaccinated and up to date with her flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet her in her foster home in South Wales
