RESIDENT DOG OF A SIMILAR SIZE

OLDER DOG SAVVY CHILDREN

ACTIVE FAMILY WHO LIKE TO GO FOR LOTS OF LONG WALKS

Rusty is a 2.5 year old Mini Doodle described by his foster mum as a handsome Nordic looking boy who just wants to be loved and allowed to run. Rusty, like a lot of men, suffers from hairy inner ears. This means his new owners will need to clean his ears out regularly. His fair skin can get itchy, so he takes daily antihistamines to avoid flare ups.

Rusty loves everybody and everyone loves him. He’s a real bubbly blonde, but he can very occasionally decide he’s scared by random men. As he settles in to his new home, and starts to feel secure, I’m sure this will disappear completely as it’s getting less often.

Rusty loves people of all sizes but due to his enthusiastic greetings, older children would be a better match.

Cat tested and the cat said he’s a right pushover for any dog confident gangster puss. Not for the faint-hearted though, as will chase a cat if it runs, even if it is without malice.

Rusty is clean in the house and has been left alone for short periods, and settles after about 10 minutes. He sleeps on foster mums bed as he was not happy to be left downstairs alone in the dark with all the scary nigh time monsters. He does have a tendency to noisily have a wash and clean at 3am, so new owners might prefer to train him to sleep elsewhere.

Rusty walks nicely on the lead, after a brief discussion about etiquette and manners. He’s been off lead in a secure field and can give Mo Farrah a run for his money! Running is Rusty’s most favourite thing ever in the world but his recall was spot on, and he came back for praise and cuddles rather than the offered treats.

Rusty would thrive in an active home that can give him two good walks every day, at least one of which needs to be an hour or more. He really doesn’t approve of duvet days (although does like a good duvet nap). He’s not as daft as he looks and needs both physical and mental exercise. He would excel at agility. Rusty does need to learn some patience and some self-confidence, and his new home will need sympathetic or deaf neighbours and a commitment to training. He’s a real superstar, adored by everyone he meets, and will make a fantastic addition to the right home. He will be greatly missed by his furster parents.
