Pumba is a 10-week old West Highland Terrier cross puppy who is being fostered in RCT, South Wales. He is a wonderful, well rounded little bundle of mischief and fun. As with all young puppies, he has a battery life of around 30 minutes and needs a good hour to re-charge. When not sleeping he plays, eats and gets in to mischief. You will need to make sure you home is puppy proof and you love puppy kisses!

People – Pumba loves all of his humans except little toddlers who frighten him. He does not live with young children at present. Pumba accepts all visitors without hesitation and is happy to play with and be cuddled by everyone.

Dogs – Pumba currently lives in a foster home full of dogs young and old and he interacts well with them all.

Cats – Pumba has not met any cats but we think he will be fine.

In the home – As a young puppy, Pumba is not housetrained although he is starting to stick to a pattern. He does not distinguish between soft toys and electric cables so your home will need to be puppy proof. He sleeps in his own space and settles well at night.

Out and about – Pumba is still too young to have ventured outdoors.

Type of home – Pumba would fit into a wide range of homes. As a pup he would need someone around most of the time to continue his training and socialising. He can live with sensible children but not too young as puppy teeth hurt if he nibbles you. He would like lots of chew toys and things to keep him active as he grows. Somewhere warm and cosy to recharge his battery is a must. He can live with another dog or dogs but he may be too bouncy for old dogs.

Please remember, if you have a dog and it is not neutered, it is against our policies to re-home a dog with you. We will not accept full time working homes for puppies. If you live in a flat we will be asking about your experience of puppy training in a flat.

Pumba is chipped, vaccinated and up to date with his flea and worming treatment. Pumba is too young to be neutered so it is a condition of adoption that his adopters arrange to have him neutered as soon as he is old enough. A discount voucher is available and follow up checks will be done. It is also a condition of adoption that Pumba attends puppy socialisation classes and you will be asked about classes available in your area. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet him in his foster home in Rhondda, South Wales
