Mandy is a four-year old Pug cross who is being fostered in Gwent, South Wales. She loves to watch the world going by outside the lounge window and most of the neighbours have seen her cute little face watching everyone’s comings and goings.

People – Mandy greets all visitors with enthusiasm although she is a little timid. She has met a lot of adults and is friendly with people of all ages. Mandy has met toddlers and children and is friendly with all. Mandy loves having her ears and head and face smoothed and is happy to be touched all over even on her hernia.

Dogs – Mandy is very sociable with other dogs although can be a little nervous until she knows them. She mixes very well with her foster brothers and sisters and will need to live with at least one quiet resident dog.

Cats – Not cat tested

In the home – Mandy is fine to be left alone for short periods and just settles down with the other dogs to sleep. She is the same when her foster mum goes upstairs behind the safety gate and leaves her downstairs with the other dogs. She calmly settles and goes to sleep. She loves the garden and sitting in the sun when we have any.

Out and about – Mandy gets very excited to go for a walk and thoroughly enjoys them. She walks very well on a lead. She does not pull at all and spends a lot of time just sniffing and taking in her surroundings.

Type of home – We don’t think a home with a boisterous dog would suit Mandy as she could be overwhelmed and she’s so sweet. We would worry she would be dominated. A quieter gentle laid back dog would be best. She can live with sensible children but has not been cat tested. Mandy would be suited to part-time workers.

Mandy is not neutered as she has just come out of season but it is a condition of adoption that she will be neutered and a discount voucher will be provided. Follow up checks will be done. She will need a small hernia repaired at the same time. She is chipped, vaccinated and up to date with her flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet her in her foster home in Gwent
