Leo is a 6 month old Bichon cross Westie described by his foster family as a friendly little guy once he knows and trusts you. It takes a little while for him to warm up but when he does he loves giving kisses and cuddles and is a very affectionate young man.
Leo can be homes with dog savvy children 5 and over who will give him time to settle so they can be best friends.
He can be homed with cats as he is young enough to learn with supervision. He has met cats and has been fine but they were dog savvy. He gave a little bark but they threatened to eat him so he backed down.
Leo loves playing with his teddys and doesn’t mind other dogs joining in.
Walking on collar lead and harness is a work in progress. He is happy to have a collar on but does not like the lead attached preferring to wear a harness. He has been on very short walks as everything is a little scary at the moment, but he is gaining in confidence daily. He just needs his pawrents to be patient with him while he gets used to the world.
He currently sleeps in a crate overnight and sleeps all night using this as his safe space as foster mum has made it all cwtchy for him.
House training is a work in progress and as he gets easily distracted, he needs to be encouraged to go into the garden regularly to do his business and given lots of praise when he has done well. Following another dog and the occasional cheese tax works.
Leo loves his food and is enjoying good treats taking the gently. He is fine to eat around others with no issues.
Leo needs a home with a resident dog to learn from. A patient family who can spend lots of time with him and take him to puppy class to be a good rescue ambassador. He would not suit a busy home with lots going on due to his nervous nature. He is still young. He has had a crap start to life so is only now getting the attention he so desperately needs and craves.
