This contract outlines the responsibilities on the part of Friends of the Animals Wales & the named fosterer during any period when our dog/cat in their fosterers care. Both parties agree to abide by this contract, respecting each other at all times.

During the period of fostering, the dog/cat shall remain the legal property & responsibility of Friends of Animals Wales.  The fosterer cannot re-home such as selling, loaning, bargaining, exchanging the dog/cat without the express authority of a representative. The dog/cat shall live within the household and not be kept outside or in an outbuilding.

THE FOSTERER WILL:

 Only be responsible for seeking vet Treatment for our dog/cat, after gaining the express permission of a senior representative of Friends of Animals Wales.

 Friends of Animals Wales can, where necessary, bring the dog/cat back into care to arrange our vet’s assessment & guidance on treatment. If we are not consulted, we will not be responsible for the vet bill.

 Take responsibility for ensuring the dog/cat is kept up to date with Vaccinations and/or worming treatments whilst in their care.

    Maintain a suitable exercise & training programme appropriate to the needs of our dog to our approach and guidance.

    Be involved in considering the suitability of potential homes for our dog/cat in their care, but must not reject these homes without good reason.

    If opting to adopt our dog/cat and both parties agree, will be liable for the donation & sign adoption papers. –    If the foster placement is not working out, will return our dog, with due notice so suitable arrangements can be made.

    Agree to cover costs as are outlined in the table below as discussed between the two parties.

  Friends of  Animals Wales can call at any to check on the health & care being of our dog/cat.

    Will update the progress and information on the dog/cat on a regular basis either directly or through their coordinator.

  Will not be able to adopt foster dog/cat once the rehoming interviews have started via the rehoming coordinators

FRIENDS OF  ANIMALS  WALES WILL:

   Assess the dog/cat to the best of their ability to ensure suitability ref. temperament or needs.

    Cover expenses for their dog/cat while in the fosterer as outlined here

  Veterinary Treatment
    Vaccination costs
   Wormer & flea treatments

    Offer timely support & advice on issues & take their dog/cat back without due delay on request.

    Actively look for a suitable forever home for their dog/cat, from the beginning of the period of in foster care.

   Ensure their dogs/cats receive vaccination , be neutered & chipped (where old enough) before or during the foster placement.  Worming and flea treatment as appropriate.

   The Fosterer hereby irrevocably understands & authorises that the dog/cat will & can be removed from their care if it is believed the terms of the contract are not being reasonably followed.

LIST OF RELEVANT EXPENSES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Foster Responsibility:

   Damage to their house or car caused by the dog/cat.

 Vaccination costs, on the odd occasion the fosterer may be asked to arrange vaccinations      for their foster.  All expenses are reimbursable.

Food, bowls beds etc can be supplied by rescue
