Daz is an 8-odd week old Yorkshire Terrier cross pup who is being fostered in Rhondda, South Wales. He is a wonderful little chap who loves to play, sleep and eat. As with all young puppies, he has a battery life of around 30 minutes and needs a good hour to re-charge. When not sleeping he plays, eats and gets in to mischief. You will need to make sure you home is puppy proof and you love puppy kisses!
People – Daz loves all of his humans except little toddlers who may frighten him. He does not live with toddlers at present. Daz accepts all visitors without hesitation and is happy to play with and be cuddled by everyone.
Dogs – Daz currently lives in a foster home with other dogs young and old and he interacts well with them all.
Cats – Daz interacts well with the resident cats.
In the home – As a young puppy, Daz is not housetrained although he is starting to stick to a pattern. He does not distinguish between soft toys and electric cables so your home will need to be puppy proof. He sleeps in his own space with his brother and settles well at night.
Out and about – Daz is still too young to have ventured outdoors.
Type of home – Daz would fit into a wide range of homes. As a pup he would need someone around most of the time to continue his training and socialising. He can live with sensible children but not too young as puppy teeth hurt if he nibbles you. He would like lots of chew toys and things to keep him active as he grows. Somewhere warm and cosy to recharge his battery is a must. He can live with another dog or dogs but he may be too bouncy for old dogs.
Please remember, if you have a dog and it is not neutered, it is against our policies to re-home a dog with you. We will not accept full time working homes for puppies. If you do work part time the pups must have a resident dog for company please. We will be expecting the puppy to go to socialisation classes and we will be asking you about your plans at interview. If you live in a flat we will be asking about your experience of puppy training in a flat.
Daz is not neutered as he is too young so it will be a condition of adoption that his new family arrange for this as soon as he is old enough. A discounted voucher will be provided and follow up checks will be carried out. Daz is chipped, vaccinated and up to date with his flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet him in his foster home in Rhondda, South Wales
