Saffy

Can live with other cats

Can live with dogs with careful introductions

Sensible children

Could be an indoor as long as she has lots of company

She also likes access to the outdoor with her forever family

Saffy is an incredibly sweet 7 year old who loves company and adores fusses. She is an unusual silver grey and white colour that really stands out. After getting to know her foster home she has become foster mum’s shadow and flops down wherever foster mum is and loves watching TV in the evenings on the arm of the sofa next to her. She is the perfect cat for someone wanting a loving, friendly companion.

Unusually for a cat she will often come when called, but expects lots of attention after putting in that effort! She has just started to explore the garden a little, but shows no intention of wandering far from her home comforts. She also gets on well with the other cats in her foster home. She is very clean and loves her biscuits, sometimes a little too much! She is on restricted amounts and has already lost a little weight, but this needs to continue.

Saffy would be fine with other cats and probably dogs too as she doesn’t react to the dogs barking in the neighbourhood as long as introductions are carefully handled.

Saffy is super sensitive on her mid to lower back and if you touch her there, she stress licks her front legs. This has been fully vet checked and they believe it is a learned behaviour rather than anything more sinister. She isn’t brushed due to this reason.

Any children in the household would need to understand that she doesn’t enjoy being touched in these areas. She is a confident lady and not easily spooked so a busy household wouldn’t necessarily bother her.

Saffy could easily be an indoor cat as she only comes in the garden to be with her foster family and always wants fusses. As soon as you are near, she meows asking for attention. She would like a home with someone around for company as she just wants to be with them.

Saffy has no quirky traits, she is just a super chilled lady who is happy. She is also good with bunnies and happily shares her garden with them.

Harri D2021-113

****PLEASE READ THE FULL WRITE UP BEFORE APPLYING****

HARRI COULD LIVE WITH A PLAYFUL RESIDENT DOR OR COULD BE AN ONLY DOG AS LONG AS HE HAS LOTS OF DOGGY FRIENDS THAT HE CAN SEE DAILY AND OWNERS WHO WOULD BE HOME MOST OF THE TIME

WOULDN’T RECOMMEND CATS OR SMALL FURRIES

OLDER CHILDREN

Harri is adorable 3 year old Setter that has the super power of only having 3 legs. He loves life, everyone and finds every new experience fun. He is full of energy, positivity and his happiness is contagious. Hari’s world is all about fun and adventure. He is very loving and adores being fussed and cuddled. He gets on well with all dogs (currently being fostered with 4 other dogs of various sizes). He is starting to learn to walk on a lead doubled with a harness and is doing well, he just wants to explore everything whilst walking and can be a little all over the place so will need help focusing on walks. He would love to run free but will need recall training to enable him to do this safely.

Harri has no known health issues apart from his missing leg.

As Harri is quite large and very boisterous, he would not be suitable to be in a home with small children as he would probably knock them over. He would be fine with older children who are used to big, boisterous dogs.

Harri loves other dogs and is happy living with all sizes of dogs. He would happily rush up to every dog he meets on a walk so needs to learn basic training. He has not been on walks in his foster home as not had second vaccination, but has done some basic training in the garden. He is very quick to learn and responds well to being told to leave when meeting another dog. He would be happy in a home with other dogs or on his own as long as he gets opportunities to socialise with other dogs.

Harri has not been cat or small furry tested and we would be wary as he wants to play with everything

Harri is 99% housetrained going outside to toilet but occasionally forgets. His training will need to continue to stop him and praise him when he gets it right. He happily sleeps on a rug in the hall or on a cosy dog bed in an open crate. He is gradually getting brave enough to come into the living room but has not yet ventured to sleep on the sofas. He adores toys he can chase and will catch tennis balls all day. He loves nothing better than to lie in the garden playing with a toy. He happily shares his toys with the other dogs in his foster home and if a bigger or smaller dog takes his toy, he will get another one. He is such a chilled out boy. He has destroyed the odd toy to get to the squeaky but has not otherwise been destructive in the home.

Harri eats well and is having a mix of wet and dried food. He eats away from the other dogs but is not at all aggressive over his food bowl. He is happy for others to come along and lick it clean after he has eaten. He hasn’t been left alone for long and when he is he is with the other dogs but doesn’t like to be left for too long.

Harri is an early riser and likes to sing with the birds which is by woofing to the world that he is happy to be alive and safe. Once he has had his morning sing song and a wee he will happily go back to bed for a few more hours napping and dreaming of his adventures for the day. This is being worked on in his foster home and training will need to continue.

Harri travels really well in a car on the back seat with the seat belt attached to his harness and lies quietly. He could travel in a crate but may need help getting into it. He adores going to the vets as he sees this as another wonderful adventure.

Harri needs a forever home with at least one other active, playful dog with owners who can continue his training and take him on adventures. He could live with older children as he’s so playful he may accidently knock any little ones over. He needs a forever family where someone will be home for most of the time and will continue his training in a positive manner.

NEEDS AT LEAST ONE OTHER RESIDENT DOG IN THE HOME

NOT CAT TESTED

PATIENT ADULT ONLY HOME WITH OWNERES AROUND MOST OF THE TIME

Peanut is a 4 year old Maltese who is described by her foster mum as a lovely girl who loves going on walks but has to have another dog to show her the way. She loves her food and does a little dance when its being lovingly prepared by her foster mum. Peanut is fully housetrained. She is not a lap dog but will sleep next to you on the couch. She is still a little nervous of humans but with love and patience she is coming on in leaps and bounds. She likes to play chase around the garden until she has had enough and she will chase a ball around. She does not as yet like to be picked up by people she doesn’t know and keeps that just for her foster mum at the moment as they have formed a bond.

Peanut has no health problems

Peanut is nervous of people that she doesn’t know and likes to make a bond with those closest to her before she will let you groom and touch her. She now happily lets foster mum groom and stroke her and new adopters need to be mindful that it will take a little time to build your own bond and for her to trust her own family.

Peanut is scared of children and goes and hides so an adult only home would be best

Peanut loves all dogs and gets quite excited when we meet other dogs on our walks. She needs a home with at least one or two other dogs in the home to give her the confidence to be a rescue ambassador in the big wide world.

Peanut has not been cat or small furry tested

Peanut sleeps with the resident dogs on the couch or in her foster mums bed basically wherever she wants to sleep, we do not use a crate in our foster home. She is not destructive at all either with food or toys. She has been left for a few hours and has been fine as long as she is with the resident dogs.

Peanut loves going on her walks but she has to go with her doggo pals for confidence. She travels in a secure doggy car seat and loves it and is great at the vets

Peanut needs an adult only home with at least one resident dog that she can learn and play with. She would like owners who are around for most of the time and can help her grow into the dog she should have always been.

RESIDENT DOG OR DOGS A MUST

CHILDREN 7 AND OVER

NOT CAT OR SMALL FURRY TESTED

PATIENT OWNERS WHO CAN SHOW HER HOW AN ADORED PET IS TREATED

Azalea is a 5 year old ex breeding westie that had previously never lived in a home or knew what it was to be adored family member. Despite her unfortunate start she loves cuddles and attention and can be very affectionate. She has really settled since being in foster and her cheeky character is starting to shine through. She’s even good with visitors that have been to the house and didn’t shy away from strangers. Approaching then carefully and putting her paws on their legs for a head scratch.

She doesn’t yet jump up on the sofa for cuddles but her foster mum thinks that she soon will as she is gaining in confidence daily. She loves the other dogs in her foster home and takes her queue from them. She is currently fed on soft food but will eat anything. She likes to do a little tap dance for you as you prepare her food and especially likes to steal her foster brothers kibble when he’s not looking or clean up whatever the children drop on the floor.

She isn’t playing with toys yet but loves funny sounds and if you pretend to meow or bark, she goes running around looking and barking to see where it’s come from. She is not food or toy aggressive and has been left for a few hours with the other dogs and has been absolutely fine.

Azalea hasn’t been for a walk yet as she’s been waiting to have her vaccinations which are now booked. With most dog like her lead walking will come with the confidence she gets from being in a stable home with another resident dog or dogs.

Azalea had a mammary lump removed on arrival into foster and also only has two teeth… but do not be fooled… you wouldn’t know. She also has a cauliflower ear as a result of an untreated infection before she came into our care.

Azalea has not been cat or small furry tested.

She does not like the stairs and currently will not walk up or down them

Housetraining is a work in progress and she can be a bit hit and miss with puppy pads. She needs lots of encouragement when she does get it right and this will encourage her to progress

At night she sleeps on a huge pile of blankets in the front room and settles well sleeping all night with the other dogs.

She is great in the car and has been amazing at the vets.

Azalea deserves a home where she can have fun and be the dog she has never been. She is still coming out of her shell and has been through a lot with medical treatments since she arrived in foster, but it is clear she is a very loving, fun dog who will continue to thrive and come out of her shell more in the right forever home.

PATIENT OWNERS AROUND MOST OF THE TIME

Bentley is a 4 year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who was a very nervous boy when he first arrived in foster. He didn’t seem to have any trust in people and can be very jumpy with loud noises and sudden movements. Since being in foster he is coming around slowly and is starting to trust his foster family and absolutely adores other dogs.

Bentley loves food and treats and will come and slowly take a treat from your hand. He is starting to show the happy cheeky side of his personality, which is wonderful to see. He is nearly there with his house training and just has the odd accident

He is still wary of strangers and is nervous of human contact but due to his love of food this is progressing nicely and positively. His new family just need to take their time and go at his pace and the trust will come.

Bentley has not met many children and would not cope with young or boisterous children as he is nervous of sudden movement and loud noise

Bentley is not cat tested

Bentley will sleep on dog bed, blanket or sofa as long as he is with another dog. He hasn’t been destructive at all and hasn’t played with toys yet but we find this will come in its own time. He hasn’t been left for more than a few hours as long as he is with another dog.

Bentley really loves his food and is currently eating soft food as he has had some teeth removed,

Bentley is not currently lead trained as he is still scared of the big wide world, however we know this will probably come in time and just needs to feel safe, gain confidence from another dog and trust his forever human.

Bentley was fine in the car on short journeys and was very brave at the vets

Bentley needs a home with another dog to show him how to be a dog. He needs a family with plenty of time and patience to help him build his trust and confidence around people and in the big wide world. Given this time and encouragement he is going to make a wonderful pet.

CALM RESIDENT DOG

CHILDREN 12 AND OVER

NOT CAT TESTED

OWNERS AROUND MOST OF THE TIME

Moss is a 5 year old Cocker Spaniel who is described by her foster mum as the soppiest, softest girl who adores attention. Living in a home is new to Moss but she has bravely embraced this new life and is such a good girl. She’s happy to be left without fuss or noise, for a few hours. She likes to snuggle up to the other dogs when humans aren’t around. But if it’s a choice, she’s a people person! This girl never stops wagging her tail, she is just so happy to have company and a cosy couch.

Moss is a delight to groom as she has the softest coat and thoroughly enjoys the attention. She is happy to have her feet groomed and ears cleaned without fuss.

She can be shy on meeting new people and will slowly and tentatively greet them in the hope of attention. As soon as they give her attention, she relaxes but will keep an eye on their movements. Quick movements can scare her but she recovers quickly and her general trust is growing stronger daily.

Moss hasn’t been tested with children whilst in her foster home and may struggle with the unpredictability of younger children’s quick movements and loud noises. However, her soft personality would suggest she’d be great with children aged 12 and over that can understand her gentle character.

Moss loves the comfort and support of another dog in the home. She likes to snuggle up to a doggy friend when left alone. Moss is currently in foster with a chihuahua with a big personality and this hasn’t phased her in the slightest. She isn’t aggressive and even when he tells her off, she wags her tail and lets him have his moment. Moss would like a home that has a gentle and calm resident dog to provide comfort and show her the way.

Moss hasn’t been cat tested but is very gentle with a chihuahua boy.

Moss is a quiet girl in the home, happiest when in the same room as her person/s. She is currently sleeping in a dog bed next to the human bed but enjoys cuddles in bed, so much so it can take some time to encourage her to sleep a whole night in her own bed. Moss would be fine left sleeping with a resident dog, in another room from her person/s but she wouldn’t cope well with sleeping alone.

Moss really enjoys her food and rushes through it to try and dip her nose in her foster sister’s bowl. She isn’t food aggressive but she does take any opportunity to sneak that nose in.

Moss hasn’t shown an interest in toys yet but if encouraged, her playful side may appear when she’s feeling settled and confident in her situation.

Moss is nearly toilet trained but isn’t great at telling you when she needs to go. If she has a way out she will choose to go to the toilet outside. In the night Moss goes to the toilet on puppy pads. Toilet training will need to continue in her new home. Moss is very timid when leaving the house for vet visits. She has no experience walking on a lead or of the outside world and will need someone who has the time and patience to very slowly introduce her to the world. She is interested in everything and gets great confidence from being with her person so I imagine she will really enjoy exploring/walks. Moss was such a good girl in the vets. She was very scared but showed no signs of aggression.

Moss needs a home with a gentle, calm resident dog to guide her and provide comfort. She would like an owner who is around for most of the time and wouldn’t cope being left for long periods. She is such a wonderful girl who is a massive softy. She loves sleeping deeply on the couch for hours and frequently dreams, making sounds and movements. She would be a great addition to any family.

EX BREEDING DOG EXPERIENCE DESIRABLE

PATIEND, CALM OWNERS HOME MOST OF THE TIME

NO CHILDREN

RESIDENT DOG OR DOGS A MUST

Brandy is a 6 year old Shih tzu female that has spent most of her life as an ex breeding bitch on a farm making her very wary of humans. She is not keen on being touched and would rather avoid all contact with you. She’s comfortable being in the same room as you and is happy to relax on a dog bed or on the windowsill watching the world go by. In the short time she’s been with her foster family she has made great progress but still has a way to go. She gets very excited at food time and bounces around wagging her tail. She lives in a multi dog household and has picked her favourite dog, a Springer spaniel, and follows him around the house and garden learning from him on how to be a dog.

Brandy is very nervous and prefers to explore the house and garden on her own and interacting with the other with dogs. She will run if you get too close or try to pick her up but is happy to lay in a dog bed or on the sofa in the same room as her humans. Sometimes it takes some dogs longer than others to adjust to being a pet but the signs are encouraging and she just needs time and patience.

Due to Brandy being nervous of touch Brandy will need an adult only home

Brandy loves being with other dogs and would need at least one other dog in her forever home. She has taken a particular liking to a spaniel in her foster home and follows him around so size doesn’t worry her.

She has not been cat tested but we can’t see there being a problem

Brandy is starting to show signs of play with the other dogs in her foster home and loves her food. She is toilet trained and happy to be left for a few hours with another dog for company.

Brandy is currently too nervous for lead walks as she is petrified of being caught and would bolt given the chance. Adopters would need to be happy to not push her and let her learn at her own pace.

Brandy would suit a quiet home with patient humans who are happy to take a back seat and let her develop at her own pace. Puppy farm experience would be preferable. She is a sweet girl who just isn’t quite ready to fully relax and trust yet. Brandy will need a soft crate for transport to make sure she is secure and can’t escape.

Rocky D2021-95

****PLEASE READ THE FULL WRITE UP BEFORE APPLYING****

COULD LIVE WITH OR WITHOUT ANOTHER DOG

NEEDS A KIND FAMILY WHO CAN SET RULES AND BOUNDARIES

OLDER DOG SAVVY CHILDREN

Rocky is a 7 year old Chihuahua described by his mum as an independent middle aged man who adores a lap and a soft blanket. He will take a couple of weeks to settle in any new home, but when you have his trust, he is the most loyal, affectionate and playful boy. His foster Mum says that he makes her smile daily with his big personality.

It will be important for Rocky to understand his place in your home, so setting boundaries and rules straight away will be critical. This works both ways. Listen to Rocky as he will clearly communicate his boundaries with you. After a few days of consistent repetition of your boundaries, he will happily follow them.

Rocky’s rules are as follows:
If you sit, your lap is fair game.
Being dressed in dog clothes is not appreciated.
I will guard you, always.
Visitors will be initiated slowly and must also understand that sitting is an invitation but Rocky still reserves the right to bark at them when they get up and leave.
Daily walks are appreciated but it’s a pass if it’s heavy rain/big weather!
Eating in a safe place (on a chair, while others are on the floor) is appreciated when eating around other dogs.

Rocky has no known health issues.

Rocky takes time to trust new people. He will build a strong bond with you but this may take a few months. When he trusts you, he loves to be held like a baby and receive tummy rubs in your arms. He will sleep under the bed covers without you knowing that’s he’s even there. You will be greeted with the biggest toothy grin and bum waggle motion at every opportunity. You will become his playmate and he will hop towards you in a cheeky fashion, bouncing around.

When you have visitors, it will be important to set clear boundaries and routines to train Rocky how to behave. He will bark at visitors, do not pick him up in this situation. Try to designate an area for Rocky to wait while guests enter so that he cannot run to greet the visitor uncontrolled. He is very responsive and you can manoeuvre him by walking towards him (use your body) to position him in the same spot/area each time. When you return with a visitor, encourage him to come to you, by the visitor, and give him attention and confidence to say hi to the visitor. Treats always help! However, you may find better ways to set rules for him as you learn about each other in your home or if you have chihuahua experience already!

Rocky would happily live with children 14 and over who understand his size and rules.

Rocky could live with dog savvy cats.

Rocky can be left for several hours and will happily sleep on the couch.
Currently, Rocky is separated from the kitchen and upstairs by a baby gate. He is happy to wait in the lounge while his foster Mum goes about her business in the house. He enjoys a blanket to tunnel under and snooze the day away wrapped up like a burrito!

Rocky likes to sleep in bed with his human. You may be able to transition him to a dog bed, within the bedroom, or with other dogs in another room. This may take a few weeks for him to accept but as long as he has company and a blanket, he will settle.
Rocky is great company for his foster Mum and (unless someone knocks the door!) he will sleep and play the day away.
He likes to mark in the house, especially if there is a change i.e new dog or something to make him feel unsure. He will go to the toilet outside as normal but will need consistent training to stop marking.

Rocky is great out on walks and trots proudly at your side. He loves to stop and sniff/mark everything. He will try to guard you from people and dogs that he finds intimidating, so will need someone willing to continue his training to help him become more secure. He likes to say hi to lots of dogs and is more confident approaching dogs than he is people.

Rocky could live with anyone who is willing to take the time to understand and listen to him. He is the most affectionate, funny little guy who would bring joy to anyone who will give him the time he needs to create a strong bond. He would happily live with another dog; if a medium/large breed they would need to be gentle, if a small breed they need to be slightly independent and not likely to take offence to his vocal nature.

Neutered Male

Microchipped, Vaccinated and up to date flea and wormer

Fostered in the Barry area of South Wales

Rocky comes with 5 weeks free Agria pet insurance

HOME WITH OR WITHOUT A RESIDENT DOG

NO CATS (HES WARY OF THEM)

OLDER CHILDREN DUE TO HIS SIZE

ACTIVE HOME

OWNERS LOOKING TO IMPROVE HIS TRAINING

Marlow is a 4 year old red Labrador who is a very playful and loving dog. He enjoys his walks, his food and spending time with humans. He interacts well with other dogs in the home and dogs he meets on walks. He’s wary of cats but stays away from them.

Marlow has some basic training and it’s felt that he could do more fun based training as he is eager to please. He gets excited when it’s food time but will sit and wait for his bowl to be put down before eating. He is such a lovely dog with a beautiful face and would be such a great companion.

Marlow loves any attention, he enjoys being groomed and stroked, and will settle down for cuddles.

Feel teenagers and older best due to Marlow’s size and playfulness

Marlow would like a resident dog in his forever home or lots of doggy friends that he can play with as he loves running around and rough playing He walks well on a lead and doesn’t pull. He’s very good with dogs he meets out on walks but hasn’t been off lead yet.

Marlow would prefer a cat free home as he’s been swiped by foster mums cat a few times and is wary of them. He has shown no aggression towards the cats even when he’s been swiped.

Marlow is housetrained and sleeps on the floor in the bedroom at night and on the floor when foster mum is in the lounge. He is not destructive at all and likes to play with toys and loves squeaky balls. Marlow will bark for a minute when left but soon settles down.

Marlow was very good at the vets.

Marlow would benefit from a home with or without another dog, as long as the humans are active and around most of the time. He would enjoy an active home as he loves going on walks and playing.

Neutered Male

Vaccinated, microchipped and up to date flea and wormer

RESIDENT DOG OF A SIMILAR SIZE

OLDER CHILDREN DUE TO HER SIZE

2 years old

Brie is a 2 year old Poodle cross Old English Sheepdog who is absolutely gorgeous. She is very shy at first but given time & space she learns to trust and is very gentle and sweet natured. She loves a good walk and a good cuddle up with her humans. She’s a smart young girl who is super keen to learn.

Brie has had skin issues that have been addressed and now looks great and is in good health.

She has seen children from a distance with no reaction but would recommend older children due to her size.

Brie would benefit from the company of another dog due to her shy/submissive character and this will give her confidence in her forever home. She is good with other dogs and is currently living with 16 others. She likes her space but is definitely a pack animal.

In her previously life she lived on a farm and has been great with foster mums’ nawty chickens and other animals

Brie is fully house trained, not destructive and will happily use a crate. She has been left a few hours with the others and has been fine. She is not currently interested in toys but this may change in her forever home. She eats very well and is not food aggressive. She sleeps down stairs with the other dogs and is very happy. She also likes to curl up on the sofa and watch a movie or read a book with her forever human.

Brie is great on walks, she listens and has a good recall. She is confident and happy walking on and off lead. She does dribble when traveling but isn’t vocal and lays down quickly. She was great at the vets.

Brie would like a home with other dogs that is reasonably busy and fur siblings that have lots of energy. She loves a good long walk but equally likes a snooze on the sofa with you too. She is the easiest going dog that deserves the best of homes.

SENSIBLE DOG SAVVY CHILDREN

RESIDENT DOG OR DOGS OF A SIMILAR SIZE

PATIENT AND CALM HOME

Latte is a beautiful 5 year old ex-breeding girl with the most beautiful little face, she didn’t have the best start in life but she’s now learning everyday in her foster home. She likes to watch everything around her and absolutely adores being around and snuggled up to other dogs.

Latte was not overly familiar with human touch when she arrived and her foster mum has had to slowly gain her trust and build up her confidence around all humans, it’s still work in progress but latte is gaining small amounts of confidence daily and her cheeky little character is slowly but surely emerging. She is happy for you to slowly and gently groom her and will pretty much tolerate with encouragement having her nails clipped. She does not like being picked up and will jump and shake in fear but she is learning slowly and at times she will surprise her foster mum and not make a fuss.

Latte is not happy around small loud children and will run for cover when approached. Older children with a patient manner that understands not to rush latte or invade her space may be suitable.

Latte absolutely adores all dogs male and female and would like to stay close to them at all times. She continuously follows her foster brother and sister around the house and is intrigued by everything they do. She can now get up on the settee with her foster brother and sister but has not yet worked out how to get down so she gets quite upset if they get down and leave her and will bark and cry under her breathe until she is helped down and she can find them again then she is happy and waggy.

Latte has not been tested with cats or small furries.

Latte is happy pottering around in the garden or sleeping with her foster siblings. She is fully house trained and she has not had one accident in the house. She’s clean through the night and sleeps on her foster mums bed or on the floor wherever her foster siblings are sleeping will do. She cannot get up on the bed so needs to be helped by her foster mum but this is not important as she would be very happy sleeping where ever her doggy friend’s sleep.

Latte is not confident on a lead yet due to her not being fully vaccinated until recently she has not had the opportunity to go for lovely walks. Lead walking will be work in progress and must be continued in her forever home. Latte travels in a crate in the car and settles well. She is not fond of the vets as most dogs aren’t and will shake and worry. With lots of encouragement from her foster mum she will eventually settle.

Latte needs a home with at least one other dog or a few other doggie friends that are happy to teach her life is now good. she is at her happiest when she’s around any dogs and learns quickly from them, she relies massively on them in everything she does and would not progress at all as an only dog. Her humans would need to be patient to slowly earn her trust. Routines seem to be working in her foster home as she now knows what time she’s having breakfast and tea and will wake her foster mum up in the morning when she wants her breakfast or the toilet. Her new family need to understand that latte is not going to be comfortable with her humans overnight and it is going to take time to build that trust but once she lets that guard down and relaxes you will see she really is a darling girl just wanting to be loved.

Leo D2021-59

****PLEASE READ THE FULL WRITE UP BEFORE APPLYING****

Needs a quiet home can be an only dog or a calm resident dog would be considered.

He needs to be within an hours drive of The Ralph vets in Marlow to continue his surgery

Older children

Bulldog experience home would be beneficial

No other pets or small furries in the home

Leo is a 9 month old American Bully who is an absolutely gorgeous little man full of love & Joy for life. He has a cheeky little character and is super smart. He has had a very sad start in life but seems mostly unaffected by it all. He truly lives for now and is a very happy little soul

Leo has suffered a lot of broken bones, poor boy. Both of his hips have now been mended and he is healing very well. He still has one more surgery to be carried out on his front leg once he is more mature in about 3 months. (This procedure is covered by the vet) Leo is also partially blind, which doesn’t bother him. He enjoys most of his physio exercises & his weekly hydro sessions.

Leo loves people and is excited to meet everyone. He doesn’t jump up but greets with great excitement. He adores being touched and fussed.

Leo has seen children at the vets and seems good with them but we would recommend older children as he is a little uncoordinated with his blindness and could knock over small children by accident.

Leo is good with other dogs however he is still young, bouncy and excitable and still needs some training. Because of Leo’s next procedure (he will need a lot of rest) a home with no other dogs or a calm resident dog. He is sociable with the other dogs but also quite independent and happy to take himself off

There can be no other small animals in the home (cats, chickens, rabbits etc)

Leo is crate trained and likes to sleep in one at night. He also enjoys destroying his toys, but only his toys he’s not destructive in the home at all. He loves his toys, but is not aggressive over them. He is house trained & can be left for a few hours alone. He absolutely loves his food, although he was a little nervous to begin with.

Leo is a bouncy boy and is partially blind. This means walks with him tend not to be in a straight line, but he is nicely behaved. He doesn’t like to travel, whining, pacing and panting a lot to begin with but will settle. He is fantastic with the Vets, as sadly he has spent most of his young life in them.

Leo would like a home where he can be loved and adored. He wants a quite house with no raised voices. He likes attention but is also happy to be left on his own. He is a super smart boy who wants to learn and will need someone who has the time to teach him. This is a very special boy who deserves a very special home.

Walter D2021-89

***PLEASE READ THE FULL WRITE UP BEFORE APPLYING****

CAN BE AN ONLY DOG OR WITH A DOG OF A SIMILAR SIZE

SENSIBLE CHILDREN

NO CATS

Walter is a 4 year old Shih tzu cross chihuahua that has come from a loving home and is a wonderfully gentle boy. He likes to be in the same room as you even if that means braving the hoover. He enjoys to play with a soft toy and engages well with other dogs. He is very friendly and will confidently trot up to dogs 10 times his size. Walter gets very excited when he sees his lead and really enjoys being sociable on a walk, he is a very considerate boy on the lead

Walter hasn’t reacted to foot traffic passing the house and is extremely quiet and trusting. He will happily be left sleeping on the couch for a few hours. On your return, you’ll be greeted with an enthusiastic tail/bum wag and all the kisses you can handle. He loves attention but isn’t the sort to climb all over you and will happily sit on your lap or next to you. At the moment I think he’s finding laps too warm but in the winter months you might well have a permanent lap dog!

Walter likes to sleep in his fluffy bed at night, which is placed on the floor next to the human bed. He will jump up onto the human bed for a goodnight cuddle and a morning cuddle but seems to prefer his own space for sleeping in between. I don’t think Walter would enjoy sleeping alone, especially as an only dog in the home.

Walter knows commands like sit, stay and is great at walking on the lead. He even knows how to play dead when pointed at with a finger gun! Walter loves people and will confidently trot up to people in the street for a quick hello. He loves to be with you in the house and takes his role as constant companion seriously. However, he can be left for short periods without a fuss.

Walter let me play hairdresser for several hours while he enjoyed the fuss of being groomed. I was able to handle his paws and trim his face without any trouble. He has clearly been loved and treated well and therefore only has trust and love to give in return.

Walter has lived with children and could live with children again. They would need to understand his small size and be gentle with him as he is very gentle himself.

Walter is very sociable and likes other dogs. He has very little fear and is confident in deciding who he talks to and who he doesn’t! Walter would really enjoy having the company of another dog in the home but  has come from a single dog home so would equally be okay as an only dog with lots of human company.

Walter has been reacting to cats on the garden wall by running, jumping and barking. He is not currently homed with cats and I’m not aware of whether he has lived with a cat before.

Walter really enjoys a game of tug-of-war or fetch and jumps about and gets really involved but his interest doesn’t last long and he’ll be soon be back on the couch. He’s a very low maintenance little guy.

Walter loves his food but due to his small size, watching his weight will be very important. He was eating wet food in his previous home but has transitioned to dry food and this has improved his toilet habits. Walter has clearly communicated, to his foster sister, that she is not allowed near his food bowl while he is eating. He did this in a very measured way as a warning and is not considered food aggressive. He would happily let you pick up his food bowl while still eating. However, he will take his chances and has tried to get his head in his foster sister’s bowl when he finishes first!

Walter needs to be let out regularly for toilet breaks and will wake you in the night to ask to be taken to the toilet if he needs to go.

Walter would be happy in any home as long as he receives all of the love and affection that he will so readily return to you, tenfold. He needs a home where there will be someone/dog around the majority of the time, he isn’t used to being left alone for long periods of time.

Bunny and Coco

Bunny and Coco are a bonded pair of 11 month old neutered female babies that need to be homed together.

Bunny

Bunny is a quiet, gentle girl. Although nervous at first, once she is settled, Bunny likes to curl up on a lap and have a fuss. She loves her food and treats, often trying to share her sister’s bowl. As Bunny is still young she loves to play and has an excited 5 minutes with her sister most days. Once settled, Bunny will want to venture outside so garden access or a catio would be ideal. With Bunny being white, care will need to be taken in the sun as she will require sunscreen for protection.

Coco

Coco is a feisty little girl but also very sweet. She likes to find a favourite spot for napping, usually on the sofa. Despite her small size, she is a ball of confident energy and loves to play with toys and her sister. Coco is very interested in food and will try to sneak treats if she can reach them. Just like her sister, outdoor space would be good once she is settled.

The girls are able to live with children, possibly other cats but they are untested with dogs.

Both girls are neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and up to date flea and wormer

The girls will come with 5 weeks free Agria pet insurance.

The girls are fostered in the South Wales area

Basil D2021-82

****PLEASE READ THE FULL WRITE UP BEFORE APPLYING****

Resident dog a must

Sensible dog savvy children

Basil is a 4 year old Cocker Spaniel that his foster mums describes as being a big boned daft lad. Although very shy and frightened when he first came into foster, he has now really come out of his shell. He will now take treats from a hand without retreating with fear and greets his foster mum in the mornings with a wagging tail and a cuddle. He loves a good bumble about in the garden and from time to time the odd gallop which always makes foster mum smile as he looks like he is in slow motion with his big ears flapping about. He also likes quiet time and will flop down on a rug or his bed which he prefers to the sofa and have a good snooze (he does snore quite loud!)

He is starting to play both with his foster mum and the other dogs in his foster home. He eats very well and shows no signs of food aggression or any other aggression for that matter.

Basil mixes with all types of dogs big and small in foster mums grooming salon and welcomes each and everyone with a waggy tail.

Although very shy and timid when he meets new people for the first time Basil soon builds trust when shown kindness and treats and will happily come to you when called for a biscuit.

He is happy to be bathed, dried, brushed and trimmed and laps up all the attention.

Basil hasn’t met a lot of children other than when they come into the grooming salon but he doesn’t react any differently to adults.

Basil takes confidence from the other dogs and prefers to be lead rather than be a leader. Big or small he doesn’t care as long as he has company.

Basil doesn’t seem bothered with small animals and chickens but hasn’t been cat tested.

From the first night in his foster home Basil settled very contentedly in his soft bed in the kitchen with another spaniel for company. He doesn’t cry as long as he has a pal with him. He is housetrained and very clean in the house, very unusual for foster dogs not to have an accident in the house but Basil has achieved this goal.

He eats very well and could ideally do with losing a kilo or two but his exercise is now helping him to get fitter and shed that bit of weight. Basil isn’t food or toy aggressive and has not shown any aggressive behaviour in any situation that he has been in.

Although Basil can be left for a few hours with another dog he does suffer with separation anxiety and will therefore need someone at home most of the day for him.

Basil hasn’t been destructive in any way in the house but he has started to chew toys when he is bored.

Basil is a typical spaniel and loves to do a lot of sniffing on walks. He doesn’t mind the lead attached to his harness but doesn’t walk in a straight line yet!

He travels extremely well and just settles down for a snooze, he isn’t travel sick at all.

Although only having one visit to the vets he trotted in quite happily with his friend.

I feel that Basil would settle in a home where there was at least one other resident dog where people were around most of the day. I feel he would tolerate older sensible children and would enjoy them playing with him.

A good sized garden is a must to have a good gallop around and preferably a rural location where there are lots of good smells and walks to explore. Basil isn’t too comfortable around busy traffic or main roads.

Neutered and had first vaccination

Basil is fostered in the Uttoxeter area

Basil comes with 5 weeks free Agria pet insurance.

****PLEASE READ THE FULL WRITE UP BEFORE APPLYING****

RESIDENT DOG OF A SIMILAR SIZE OR AS AN ONLY DOG

NOT CAT TESTED

OWNERS HOME MOST OF THE TIME

Nilly is a 5 year old Shih Tzu cross that has so much love to give. Her main desire is for you to be in the same room as her. She doesn’t need you to particularly look at or touch her, she just loves company. She will follow you around the house and if she catches your eye her tail will start wagging. She enjoys attention and loves to sit next to you on the couch and she’s definitely been caught watching TV a few times. She has a gentle nature and is a joy to have around.

Nilly appears to be suffering from hay fever/allergies and is currently taking half a Piriton tablet a day which seems to provide her with some relief. In the summer months going forward, it might not be ideal for her to take long walks through fields and be out and about too much etc. Although this condition may settle as she gets older, it’s likely that she had little, if any, exposure to pollen in her previous situation so it could reoccur each summer.

Nilly will need regular grooming as she has thick fur on her paws and dirt can get matted between the pads so this will need to be kept an eye on and cleaned and trimmed regularly.

Nilly loves people but can be timid at first. She will slowly approach you with a full on tail/bum wag and accept all the attention you want to give. When she’s had enough, she’ll take herself off to her bed.

Nilly hasn’t interacted with children but from her character, I believe she would be suitable to live with children 10 years or above. She likes to have people around and a full household would give her lots of company and provide for her inquisitive nature. Nilly could equally suit an adult only household who give her lots of attention.

Nilly hasn’t had much interaction with other dogs outside of the home yet and it would be a good idea to introduce her to dogs you know first, to help ensure her first experiences are positive, before progressing to parks etc. She loves her reflection and was very confused by mirrors at first. She tried very hard to play with her own reflection, so I think she’s going to be a very sociable girl.

Nilly isn’t in foster with a cat but has reacted to them on the garden wall. She will bark but doesn’t become aggressive. If the resident cat is used to dogs and will stand up to her and they are introduced well, I don’t see her being aggressive towards a cat inside the home. However, this is not tested.

Nilly has mastered the art of the little spoon position and after a cuddle will enjoy sleeping on the end of the bed. At this point, sleeping in the bedroom helps her to feel secure and included. But in her forever home she could easily transition into sleeping elsewhere with other dogs. She finds security in having a crate and will voluntarily sit in it for a nap. At first she preferred to be secured in her crateif left and has been left for a few hours. She has now progressed to feeling secure enough to stay in the lounge and be left for short periods with other dogs. I come home to find her stretching awake on the couch.

If you are in the house, Nilly likes to be in the same room as you. In foster, she has calmly slept in her crate while the hoover and a very loud carpet cleaner have been used but will jump at unexpected noises but on the whole she is a very trusting, affectionate and inquisitive girl.

Nilly has been a toilet training dream. She makes clear circling motions and looks uncomfortable about trying to find somewhere inside to go to the toilet so I think in her case, she prefers going outside, which makes things easier.

Nilly likes to play with soft toys and balls which is a new discovery for her as she is still coming out of her shell where play is concerned. She makes the funniest little snorting sounds when she gets excited.

Nilly is very gentle with food and treats. She is quite food oriented so treats have helped to encourage her to learn new things, like going downstairs. She is so gentle that she might happily allow another dog to eat her dinner! After eating she enjoys walking around the room rubbing her beard on everything to clean her little face.

Nilly is still learning things like polite manners while people are eating but she is learning quickly. She will try to get close to your plate if she can and if you look away, I’d imagine she’d take the opportunity! but she doesn’t jump or continue after being told a few times and will settle down to keep her eyes on you as you eat.

Nilly will need your patience as she is new to walking on a lead and to all the sights and sounds of the world. She is very inquisitive but takes time to study things before feeling comfortable moving on. I believe her confidence will grow with more and more positive outside experiences under her belt. Nilly was absolutely no trouble at the vets and was an absolute star. She needs to be secured in the car as she likes to sit and enjoy watching out of the window.

Nilly is so interested in other dogs that she gets excited at her own reflection. It would be great for Nilly to have a resident dog to show her the way, encourage play and give her confidence. But I don’t think this is essential for her, if her new owner is willing to spend the time to socialise her and there is someone home for the majority of the day, she would be happy.

Tiger Lilly D2021-87

CAN BE AN ONLY DOG OR LIVE WITH 1 OTHER SMALL RESIDENT FEMALE DOG

NOT CAT TESTED

DOG SAVVY CHILDREN 10 AND OVER

Tiger Lily is a 3 year old Poodle X Bichon who adores people and is very loving. She loves cuddles and giving kisses. She is lively and likes to explore running around and having fun. She acts like the bravest little dog in the world and would snap at any dog that gets too close but this is all a big act. She is nervous of dogs getting too close and needs careful introductions. Since being in her foster home, she now feels safe and knows the other dogs will give her space and not bother her and has become friendly with them all. Tiger Lily would be happy in a home where she is the only dog or with another small female dog. They would have to be a confident but friendly dog that will not be offended and retaliate if told to go away. Tiger Lily needs reassurance that she is loved and safe and would prefer a human home most of the day. Tiger Lily is the most loving, friendly girl ever, so cuddly and quick to learn and it doesn’t help that she is also very pretty and cute.

Tiger Lily has a lump on her right shoulder that has been checked by the vet who are confident it is old scar tissue and did not need surgery or treatment but will need monitoring. It causes her no issues.

Tiger Lily adores people, she relishes being in the company of humans and loves cuddles and kisses, being stroked and brushed. She has not been to the groomers since in foster but has been clipped recently.

She should be fine with dog savvy children over 10 who give her space to be herself and be there for cuddles when she wants them.

Tiger Lily did have separation anxiety when she first came to foster but learning a routine and being around other dogs she is now quiet at night and can be left for short periods, with other dogs around. If someone is home all the time for reassurance, she could possibly be an only dog. It would be good for her to meet other dogs socially if possible, to help her learn to trust. She has already learnt this in her foster home but it may take some patience to reassure her in her forever home.

She has not been small furry or cat tested

Tiger Lily is housetrained and always goes to the garden to toilet. She will use an open crate and seems to use this as her quiet place. Tiger Lily has shown no destructive behaviour at all, she is not interested in toys, she just likes humans. She prefers to eat away from the other dogs and needs encouragement to feel safe and eat all her food. She is not bothered if the other dogs lick her food bowl once she has had enough and walked away.

Tiger Lily did yap constantly when left when she first came into foster and may do so again in a new environment, but this can easily be fixed with some training. She acts brave but is really a scared little girl but reassurance and routine works really well for this wonderful girl.

Tiger Lily loves going for a walk on a lead. She will need to wear a collar and harness and have two leads until she settles. She has not been far as not had both vaccinations yet, but has been walked a little with one of her foster brothers and is good as gold. She walks straight and proud and is an absolute delight. She has not been walked her on her own but she has no fear of harnesses or leads and gets really excited.

Only travel in the car has been to the vets and she has been in a cage for that and was quite happy. She will yap if you leave her on her own though, she likes to have someone with her. She has been great at the vets with no fear or worries.

Tiger Lily would love a home where she is the one and only top dog and has a human around all the time to give her cuddles and be the centre of attention. However, she has shown that her snapping at other dogs is just from fear and once she gets to know them she can be quite sociable, friendly and fun. Speaking for Tiger Lily she wouldn’t fit into a busy multi dog household she would like another quiet little one or to be just her and the hoomans. Tiger Lily is a fun loving lively dog, who needs a secure garden to tear around in and go on lots of walks but she would also love lots of cuddles, tummy tickles and forever home stuff. If I sit in the garden, she is under my chair, if I try to walk around the house, she is like a slipper, attached to my foot! She is adorable and needs the best forever home ever.

Hi Frenz, I’m Pan (foster mum says it stands for Pandemonium- but I’m not sure what that means- suspect it’s awesomeness, yeah???), I’m looking for my furever home with a special person(s). I love adventures but sometimes my energy exceeds my sense so I’d prefer a home where I can explore safely away from traffic and other dangers. I prefer outdoor plumbing, when I was kept indoors, I got a bit confused about where to go. I can open door handles but haven’t figured out the cat flap yet. I have something called “luxating patella’s” in my knees, it doesn’t slow me down at all (I am the fastest!) but sometimes I walk a bit funny. My favourite things are birds, running like the wind, giving the best cuddles and chicken. I like other cats but sometimes I forget my manners so best if I’m an only cat though I’d be fine with tolerant dogs (everyone needs a dog for a pillow, am I right?). The vet man thinks I’m around 12 months old and will live a long and exciting life with my forever humans.

Harry D2021-46

****PLEASE READ THE FULL WRITE UP BEFORE APPLYING****

ONLY DOG OR A RESIDENT DOG OF A SIMILAR SIZE IF OWNER IS HOME MOST OF THE TIME

DOG SAVVY CHILDREN 8 AN OVER

Harry is a 11 year old small Yorkshire terrier with a sweet natured that loves everyone he meets. He has a cute look where his little tongue hangs out the side of his mouth due to having all his decayed teeth removed. He loves to sleep with his head on the arm of the sofa or chair and you can hear little contented snores. He likes to lay out in the garden in the sun watching the world go quietly by.

Harry absolutely loves his human and loves nothing better than climbing on their lap for a cuddle, with his head laying against them happily as long as his slave rubs his little belly. He will tap you with his paw if you stop as he hasn’t given you HIS permission to STOP.

Harry was very over weight when he came in and has lost quite a bit but will need to have his food weighed and monitored until he’s a desirable weight for his little size.

Harry loves humans and thinks everyone has come to see him and will happily yap away at them as if he’s talking. Everyone that has met him out and about falls in love with him as he has the most friendly little face. He is a little unsure of being groomed but just sits quietly and doesn’t cause a fuss. He has no problem being touched and loves the attention.

Harry has only seen children in the Park but not up close and yaps with excitement causing them to be a little wary of him. Due to Harry’s small size he would need children that wouldn’t treat him as a toy and will be gentle whilst interacting with him. Visiting children that are used to dogs would be preferable and know to give a dog space as Harry has never lived with children and needs a quiet calm home. Harry knows nothing of balls or toys so wouldn’t be a playful dog that way.

Harry loves all dogs although again he yaps when out so can give the wrong impression. He would like another dog in the home for company on walks and when being left in the house. He could possibly be an only dog as long as his owner was home most of the day to keep him company as he’s never lived without other dogs.

Harry lives with a dog savvy cat in his foster home and has had no issues. He’s not met other small furries.

Harry will have the odd lazy accident in the house and he sometimes needs encouragement for him to use the garden until he gets used to your home and the way outside. He sleeps in a bed at the side of his foster mums bed quite happily and soundly. He is not destructive and sadly doesn’t seem too know anything about toys or a ball.

He loves his food with a passion and as said will need monitoring to keep his weight down, he has no teeth so needs soft food to eat and definitely not human food.

Harry will hear his lead and harness coming out of the cupboard and will run happily wiggling his little body whilst yapping very loudly with excitement for his walk. The yapping will continue for some time as he’s so happy to be out meeting everyone, especially as he thinks they will all stop and talk to him as after all he’s a very special boy so why wouldn’t they stop for a chat. Everyone always comments on how happy he looks as he has a very smiley face.

Harry travels in a crate in the car as he’s a bit unsure. He’s happy enough at the vets and is no problem at all with them handling him.

Harry would like a quiet home as he is an older boy and likes his naps through out the day. He would need his human to be home for most of the day as he likes company. This would be essential if he’s the only dog in the house as he’s always lived with other dogs. Harry has never lived with children and would prefer a quiet calm home for his age.

Harry would like a few short walks a day which will also help with keeping his weigh down. If you want a sweet loving companion dog then Harry is your boy an absolute delightful little dog who is always happy and doesn’t stop wagging his tail.

Biggles D2021-48

****PLEASE READ THE FULL WRITE UP BEFORE APPLYING***

ONLY DOG OR OLDER RESIDENT DOG OF A SIMILAR SIZE

CHILDREN OVER 16

NO CATS

ASSISTED ADOPTION DUE TO HIS AGE

Biggles is a small but lively 14 year old. Don’t be put off by his age as he’s full of life and a real character. Once bonded he loves his human and likes to follow them around and watch what they are doing especially if it has anything to do with food.
When Biggles is hungry, he will give you a nose nudge to tell you he wants food and will then follow you to the kitchen and if you aren’t quick enough for his liking, he will do a little dance and stamp one of his front legs as if to say “come on hurry up slave”

The best part of his day is after going for a walk cuddling with his human on the sofa, he’s not really a lap dog but loves laying next to you to have a snooze. Once he gets to know you and knows that he’s safe he will climb on your lap and snooze so be patient and let him go at his pace and you’ll have a lovely, sweet little dog with character who loves your company.

Although not confirmed I would say Biggles has some hearing loss due to his age and doesn’t always hear when you are behind him unless you touch him to let him know your there but he has heard loud noises and been startled by this.

Biggles can be a bit lively if he doesn’t want to be picked up, we think this is because he is small and unsure of being handled. He can growl and turns his head, but if you talk to him and reassure him he calms down. He’s fine being washes by his human, and is getting used to being brushed as long as it is done slowly and at his pace. If taken to be groomed they would need to be made aware of his behaviours.

Biggles hasn’t been around children apart from seeing them in the park from a distance. He would need a home with preferably no children or visiting children Over 16 due to his gutsy nature.

Cannot be rehomed with a cat or other small animal. He could be an only dog who has his human for company throughout the day but also could be homed with another confident dog of the same size but not a very young dog.

Biggles will need encouragement to get used to going out into the garden in a new home. He only uses a crate when travelling in the car. He knows nothing of playing with toys and is not sure what they are. He likes his food but doesn’t like to share with anyone and will snap if another dog comes near. This is being managed in his foster home by feeding him in a separate room.

Biggles hasn’t been left for more than a few hours and has been in the company of other dogs. He likes to watch through the windows and bark if anyone is passing in case they dare think of coming anywhere near his human. If you don’t mind sharing your sofa or bed with a dog then Biggles is your boy. Beds on the floor aren’t for Biggles as he wants to cwtch next to his human. He will expect to be allowed to sleep next to you on your bed and will sometime paw at you and the bedding as he likes to crawl under the covers, but soon gets hot so crawls back out.

Although Biggles wants to go on a walk he can be quite anxious putting on his harness, but once on he trots off quite confidently. He doesn’t need long walks and you will know when he wants to go back home as he will pull a little as if to say let’s go home now. He doesn’t approach dogs out on walks as he can be nervous of them and people so is happy to just potter along minding his own business.

He is quiet travelling in a crate in the car but I wouldn’t say he enjoys it. He is quite nervous at the vets but will sit on his humans lap anxiously waiting. Vets will need to be told that he needs to be handled with care.

Biggles would like a home where someone can offer him the reassurance and the protection he so aches for. He needs his human to have a quiet home and be home most of the day as he craves their company. He would like a nice secure garden where he can chill and relax as being an older boy he does like to sleep. He would like to be taken on a few short walks a day but is happy to avoid any rain as he doesn’t like to get his hair wet.

CALM RESIDENT DOG OF A SIMILAR SIZE

CHILDREN 8 AND OVER

NOT CAT TESTED

OWNERS HOME MOST OF THE TIME

Sweetie is an 8 year old terrier who has a very loving nature with lots of love to give. She is a little shy to start but soon comes around to new people. Sweetie needs someone to give her lots of love so she can shine. She will interact with other dogs, if a little nervous at first but once she relaxes, she soon becomes part of the team.

She has a lovely personality that is just now shining through and makes the sweetest little cuddle noises. She will even tap you to be picked up. She has learned a lot in a short time and is very clever. She has learned to play with toys and work out what is a toy and what is not which has been funny when she picks your sock up and throws it in the air.

She loves to sleep in bed with you and is clean through the night.

She is not cat tested

Sweetie is happy to be bathed and brushed as long as this is done quietly.

Sweetie is very good on a harness and lead but is still getting used to noises and is being carried by busy roads. When walking she does this cute hop skip and jump that is really endearing. She enjoys her walks and enjoys being with her foster siblings who she gains confidence from. When out walking she will greet some dogs but will totally ignore others. She is such a tiny girl and needs time and positive reinforcement to help her become a more confident dog.

Sweetie is currently fed little and often with wet food and dry food is left down all the time. She was underweight when she first arrived into foster but is putting on weight slowly and building muscle with her walks. She has no aggression around food, in fact she will circle and wait patiently.

Sweetie has been around children over 8 years of age and was very interactive. She loved the attention only children can give in their innocent way.

Sweetie is not crate trained and didn’t like being crated in the vets and got quite stressed which led to the vet nurses cuddling her lots for reassurance. They all fell for her gentle nature.

Sweetie needs someone that is home most of the time. She needs a nice secure garden so she can sunbathe in peace. A calm resident dog of a similar size to help her build confidence. Calm sensible children 8 and over. She has so much to give to the right person. She has a lovely personality which is growing everyday.

Joshua D2021-72

****PLEASE READ THE FULL WRITE UP BEFORE APPLYING WHICH WILL LEAD YOU TO THE APPLICATION FORM****

FLAT FACE EXPERIENCE DESIRABLE

NO CATS

CHILDREN 10 AND OVER

Joshua is a 5 year old bouncy little pug with a gorgeous little snuffly face. He is a friendly little chap who will come bounding towards you to say hello. He is looking for his forever home after his owner was taken into care. He loves human attention and will snuffle up to you when you stroke him. He will jump for attention and his whole body wiggles with happiness.

Joshua has had no experience of meeting children since he’s been in foster but we were told by his previous carer that he had met grandchildren and was happy to sit on their lap. He is a friendly boy and we think he would be fine with dog savvy children who are used to bouncy dogs.

Joshua currently lives with an older pug and they love to sleep and play together but Joshua can be a little overpowering so will need a home with another pug of a similar age and energy level to him. He does have a tendency to muscle in when you are trying to fuss another dog but not in any aggressive way. He has always lived with other pugs he needs to live with at least one other flat face. He hasn’t met many other dogs on walks but the ones he has met he has greeted excitedly.

He currently lives with cats but he has shown a tendency to chase them so he would be best suited to a cat free home.

When Joshua first arrived he was a bit overwhelmed at being able to roam the house freely and was over excited. He is gradually settling and slowly getting used to sitting in the lounge with his foster mum. He eats well and although not food aggressive he will steal from the other dogs food so is best fed separately. He has been left for a few hours and has been fine as long as he has the other dog and a bed to sleep on. He sleeps in the kitchen overnight and recently has been crated following his neuter. He is not destructive and has never shown aggression. House training is very much an ongoing process however he has improved since his diet was changed and he is now starting to go outside more often and use the puppy pad when indoors.

Joshua travels well in a crate in the back of the car. He was a very good boy at the vets. He loves his walks and walks well on a lead.

Joshua needs a home with at least one other dog. A friendly playful dog would suit his needs but one who would also teach him boundaries. Once he is settled, we are sure this cheeky chappie will give lots of happiness and bundles of fun. He is a lovely friendly little boy who has so much to give the right family.

NEEDS A CALM RESIDENT DOG OF A SIMILAR SIZE

DOG SAVVY CHILDREN 10 AND OVER

OWNERS HOME MOST OF THE TIME

Pasty is a lovely 6 year old King Charles Cavalier, it took him a few days to actually come out of the kitchen and investigate when he first arrived in foster but he has truly blossomed since. He loves cwtching on the settee and on the bed. It took a while but he now toilets outside but if it’s raining, he likes company and for you to stand outside with him as he’s not sure. He loves food and dances around licking his lips when it’s feeding time. He likes nosing out of the window with foster mums’ dog and has the loveliest waggy tail. He’s not sure how to play yet but follows the resident dog around and watches him play. He loves a fuss and will nudge your hand for more attention.

He has had a few baths since being in foster and stands lovely and still. He has also been great when being brushed and now enjoys it. He is slightly unsure of new people but will be smoothed under the chin when he is ready. Once he knows you he loves attention and fuss.

He loves foster mums’ dog and tries to sniff and be near him always. He has not been tried with a cat or any other animals but he appears very gentle.

At night Pasty likes to sleep on the bed with his family. He is dry throughout the night and toilets outside. He paces when he needs to go out, so his new family need to know his signal. He loves food -wet more than dry and has a few treats also during the day. He will go in a crate but now prefers to be close to his family and likes a nap on the sofa during the day. He hasn’t played with toys yet and hasn’t shown any aggression.

He hasn’t been on walks yet as not fully vaccinated and lead training is a work in progress. He travels in a crate in the car but at the moment he gets anxious and gets car sick. He was fine at the vets.

Pasty needs a home with a resident dog to show him how to dog and that not all humans are bad. He would like older quieter dog savvy children who understands that when he needs space, they will leave him alone. He would like owners who are around for most of the day and will share their sofa and bed with him. He has come on in leaps and bounds in such a short time and now needs his special forever humans who can love and adore him

Tuna D2021-67

****PLEASE READ THE FULL WRITE UP WHICH WILL LEAD YOU TO THE APPLICATION FORM****

CALM RESIDENT DOG NEEDED

CHILDREN 12 AND OVER

NOT CAT TESTED

PATIENT OWNERS THAT NEED TO GAIN TUNAS TRUST

Tuna is a 6 year old Poodle cross who is an ex breeding dog. He came to us very nervous and scared of the world however he’s made great progress since coming into foster. He bonds with his humans very quickly as soon as he knows that it’s safe for him to do so, it takes a little longer with men but he does come round and he’s very loving and very much enjoys his cuddles next to you or on your lap, he really is at his happiest then. He does need another dog in the home to feel comfortable and it does need to be a kind, calm sort of dog who’s happy for Tuna to cwtch up to them and doesn’t mind a little shadow following them around. He would not do well with a rambunctious dog who’s in his face and always wanting to play as he doesn’t yet understand playing.

House training is going well, there is still the odd accident but he’s almost completely there. In the house he’s mostly a quiet little thing who loves snuggling and napping but he will bark at someone walking past the house, which is a terrace facing onto the street, in a house set further back I don’t think this would be an issue. He came to us very underweight and with a mouthful of rotten teeth and ear infections. He’s receiving treatment for his ears and he’s also had 21 teeth removed. He has a VERY healthy appetite now and absolutely loves food, you’ll have to make sure your kitchen cupboards are secured as he’d quite happily break in to steal something to eat if he can.

He’s just started walking on a lead and it’s going well, he started by needing the other dog to copy but now he’s becoming confident walking by himself. At night he sleeps with the other dog and one of us has stayed with them downstairs as the resident dog doesn’t like sleeping upstairs and Tuna sleeps better with a person and dog near. He’d be thrilled to spend every night with both his people and dogs if he could. Tuna hasn’t been very happy being left alone at present, it’s possible that he would eventually be ok for short periods of time if he’s got dog company but this would need to be worked towards carefully when he is feeling absolutely secure in his new home. He is at his absolute happiest and most relaxed right now surrounded by his people and dog friend, cuddled up to either dog or person on the sofa and napping.

Tuna has met his foster mums niece and nephew aged 12 and 15 and was fine with them. I think 12 and above would be fine as long as the children understand he’s a nervous dog and they’ll need to be gentle with him as sudden movements and noise will frighten him. He wouldn’t cope at all with the rough and tumble of young children.

He hasn’t met a cat. He’s met a rabbit in his hutch and shown a curious interest but nothing that seems worrying.

He’s only just started vaccinations and had surgery so time out and about has been limited. He’s been fine in the car and at the vets albeit nervous. He is very keen to go for a walk initially only with another dog but now he will walk alone. He needs to build up fitness and muscle as he was and still is very underweight.

FLAT FACE EXPERIENCE

SOMEONE WHO LIVES WITH A MAESGLAS VETS AREA

RESIDENT OLDER CALMER DOG PREFERABLY A PUG

OLDER CALMER CHILDREN

Jackson is a sweet 9 year old pug who has the cutest tiny squishy face which you can’t help but want to cover in kisses. He is a friendly little boy and will toddle up to say hello to anyone who will give him attention.

Jackson has some ongoing health issues which will be discussed at application stage. For this reason we will only be able to accept applications from local homes within the Maesglas vets area.

Jackson has a lovely temperament. He enjoys human attention and is happy to be stroked and is very compliant when having his ear and eye drops.

Jackson has not met any children in his foster home however he is a friendly little chap so we think he would be fine with children. He has some mobility issues so he would be best suited to a home with older less bouncy children although visiting grandchildren would not be a problem.

Jackson currently lives with another younger pug and loves to cuddle up with him. The younger pug however can be a bit boisterous and the vet feels this could exacerbate his health issues. For this reason, we feel he needs the company of another older calmer but friendly dog

Jackson currently lives with four cats however he does like to try and chase them so would be best in a cat free home.

In his previous home Jackson had lived in a kitchen and initially was quite bewildered at having the run of the house. He is now getting used to sitting in the lounge with his foster mum and loves to lie in the sun when it shines through the window. He sleeps in the kitchen with another resident pug. Since neutering he has been sleeping in a crate and has been fine. He has been left for a few hours and is fine as long as he has his bed and the company of another dog. House training is a work in progress but he is slowly getting used to going out in the garden or on a puppy pad. He has never shown any destructive behaviour or aggression.

Jackson travels well in a crate. He is so good at the vets they even commented at how stoic the little fella is. He walks well on a lead and enjoys his walks. He hasn’t met many other dogs but those he has met he has greeted enthusiastically.

Jackson is looking for a nice quiet retirement home with at least one other dog (preferably a pug) for company. Someone who is prepared to help teach him to enjoy the comforts of a home and give love and attention in bundles. He is a lovely, lovely boy with the sweetest nature and will be a lucky addition to the right family.

NO CATS

CAN LIVE WITH ANOTHER RESIDENT FEMALE DOG IF CALM OR AS AN ONLY DOG****

CHILDREN 10 AND OVER

PATIENT HOME WHO WILL CONTINUE HER SOCIALISATION SKILLS WITH DOGS ON WALKS

Elaine is a 6 year old ex breeding cavalier girl who is loving and affectionate and loves nothing more than human affection and attention. She loves nothing more than human company and to be as close to you as she can get. Her favourite place to be is snuggling next to her human. She will very often take herself off to her foster mums bed on her own at any opportunity and stay there quite happily.

Elaine has a grade 2/3 heart murmur which does not require medication at the moment and just needs monitoring going forward.

Elaine is fine with older children but can be unsure of young loud children. She has not been tested with cats but we would not recommend her to be rehomed with any.

Elaine isn’t very well socialised due to having lived in a puppy farm so out on walks she gets very vocal when she sees another dog and can be a bit feisty. However with a firm “no” Elaine will back down and walk on so this is something that needs to be worked on in her new home. She does not like other dogs in her face especially males and can get upset making noises, but laid-back dogs don’t seem to bother her. Elaine loves being in the garden sat in the sun but will bark at the neighbours when she sees them.

Elaine loves to snuggle on the settee next to her humans and will bond with anyone showing her the love and attention she seeks. She is fully housetrained with no accidents in the home. She sleeps all night next to her foster mum on her bed with no issues. She does not use a crate at all. She is not destructive in any way. She does not currently play with toys. Elaine loves her food like a typical cavalier and is currently eating kibble with a little bit of wet food. She can be food aggressive at times when eating treats around other dogs. If she feels threatened the other dog could take her treat, she will tell them off. Elaine has been left for a few hours alone with her foster siblings with no issues. She is very excited when her foster mum returns.

Elaine is very good travelling in the car and settles quickly, she is also very good at the vets. When out on the lead she walks really well. She gets very excited about going and loves to be out in the big wide world exploring. She gets so excited and over whelmed and will cry under her breathe when you first go out. Elaine is unsure of other dogs when out and about and definitely doesn’t like other dogs in her face. This will need to be worked on in her forever home.

Elaine needs a forever home that will give her the constant love and attention she craves. Someone that’s home most of the day that can take her out on lovely long walks and work on her socialisation with other dogs. She does not like dogs to be in her face so a young boisterous dog would not be suitable. She would prefer either a dog free home so she can have full human attention or a home with another dog preferably a female dog that’s laid back and happy to let Elaine get lots of love and affection from her humans. Elaine can be quite vocal and will bark at passing people in the window and neighbours in their own garden when she sees them. She seems to feel she must protect her humans and likes to make it known with her loud bark, so a home that her barking won’t be too much of a problem and one that can be patient and work on it ,is a must.

RESIDENT CALM DOG OR AS AN ONLY DOG

NO CATS

OWNERS EXPERIENCED IN EITHER MALTESE OR SHITZU BREEDS, OR SMALL BREED TERRIERS WOULD BE BENEFICIAL.

OLDER DOG SAVVY CHILDREN WHO WONT TREAT HER AS A TOY

Oreo is a 4 year old Maltese cross Shitzu. She is a loving little dog, with bags of personality. Oreo loves to get a cuddle and a fuss, and her whole-body wiggles when you stroke her. Oreo loves human company and will make a great companion dog as she’s never far away from wherever you are.

Oreo is a fit and active little dog who loves going on adventures but is also equally happy under a blanket in the warm. Oreo loves being stroked and fussed- although sometimes she can be a little reserved, she is soon waggling her whole body when she meets new people and loves getting cuddles.

Oreo is great being groomed and will need owners willing to commit to regular coat maintenance grooms to prevent matting as Oreo has a very long thick coat when not clipped short. When Oreo came into rescue she needed to have her coat all clipped off due to matting so she will need frequent brushing to prevent this happening again.

Oreo is a tiny dog who can be a little unsure of children initially, but with older children she is fine. Oreo could live with dog savvy children who will handle her gently and understand that even though she is tiny she is not a toy.

Oreo currently lives with other dogs in her foster home and is learning how to interact with them well. She will over groom other dogs and can occasionally get over excited around them. She could live with calmer older dogs or as an only dog as long as her human is home most of the time and she has doggy friends.

Oreo will chase cats so would be best without any small animals in the home

Oreo is such an easy little foster; she is non-destructive and a very quiet house guest. She is a terrier so does have an excitable side when she is playing or doing zoomies around the garden. She will use a crate and although she barks for a few minutes initially, she does settle down after that.

Oreo loves toys and running around, she pounces on toys like a cat. She isn’t food aggressive but will tell other dog’s off if they go near her dinner as she is quite a slow eater so this will need managing in a home with other dog’s

Oreo walks well on a lead; she will pull initially but soon settles. She loves sniffing and exploring, she is a tiny little dog that sometimes gets a bit distracted by adventuring so is currently kept on a long line for walks rather than off lead, new owners would need to work on her recall before letting her off lead in any new home

Oreo needs a home with people home the majority of the day, a home that has older children or adults only and a home that has either a calm older dog, or no pets. She needs pawrents that will commit to grooming her and taking her to regular grooming appointments to prevent her coat from matting. Although in the homing photos she has short hair, naturally she has a very long coat which will need managing. Owners experienced in either Maltese or Shitzu breeds, or small breed terriers would be beneficial.

Oreo is a loving little dog who so deserves to be a companion for someone and to experience life as a totally loved pet- whoever adopts her will be getting a funny, energetic, loving and cuddly little dog

NEEDS A RESIDENT DOG FOR COMPANY

SENSIBLE CHILDREN 7 AND OVER

NOT CAT OR SMALL FURRY TESTED

LOVING OWNERS TO CONTINUE HIS TRAINING

Toffee is a 5 year old westie who is full of character. He is a very happy boy with a waggy tail who loves a fuss and cuddle. He gets on well with other dogs in the home and is good with quiet children. He has settled well in his foster home and once he gets used to his surroundings and new people he is quite confident. He loves having a garden to play in and is learning to go to toilet outside. He eats his food in a room with other dogs but knows they won’t try to steal his food, he doesn’t like to share food. Toffee is a loving lad, always excited to see his human. He is learning to walk on a lead with a harness and collar and is doing really well whilst following the others. He hasn’t ventured far yet as he’s waiting for his second vaccination. He has been out in the field and loves rolling in grass. He will need to learn recall before he can be left off a lead. He would prefer to have a confident dog in his forever home for company and would like to have a human around most of the time.

Toffee loves a fuss and a cuddle and giving kisses. He can initially be a bit nervous when first meeting people and shies away from having his head touched but loves having his chin tickled. He is very sociable and once he gets to know you, he adores having a fuss and being stroked and brushed.

Toffee has met my grandchildren aged between 3 and 17 who are all used to being gentle with new dogs. They waited for Toffee to go to them and he enjoyed having a fuss and cuddles with them. He was a bit nervous of the busy 3 yr old but showed no aggression, just found somewhere quiet to rest.

Toffee currently lives with 3 other dogs in his foster home and gets on well with all of them. He has taken to one in particular and looks to him for confidence. Toffee has not met any dogs out on walks yet. Toffee would prefer the company of at least one dog in his forever home.

Toffee’s housetraining is work in progress. He gets praised for toileting outside but we do have occasional accidents in the home. He is happy to go in an open crate to rest, especially if sharing it with his doggy friend. He has the run of the house and garden but has not ventured upstairs or tried to get on the sofa. He sleeps quietly at night on a rug by the fire. He has not shown any interest in playing with toys yet. Toffee eats well and gets excited at meal times and does a little happy dance, he is so cute.  He has quickly learnt not to try and take the other dogs’ food. He waits with the others to take a treat and then carries it off somewhere quiet to eat it. He has hardly been left and is always with other dogs and another person in the house. He can get a bit yappy but calms down as soon as a human appears and talks to him.

Toffee would love a home with someone around most of the time, a doggy friend and a garden to play in. He would love a cosy bed to snuggle in and a lap to have cuddles on. He likes a routine and would enjoy going for regular walks. He will need to wear a harness and collar and two leads until he is trained and settled. Toffee is a happy and lively dog and would suit a home where he can have fun and love. He will need a home that will continue with his housetraining, lead walking and recall.

Jack & Daniels D2021-63 D2021-66

****PLEASE READ THE FULL WRITE UP BEFORE APPLYING****

MUST BE HOMED TOGETHER

CHILDREN 10 AND OVER

NOT CAT TESTED

Jack and Daniels are 4 years old Maltese x Terriers that are described as two loveable rogues. They are extremely bonded to one another. They eat, sleep and do everything together and whilst Daniels is quite happy to come for an under the chin tickle and fuss, Jack is very fearful of humans in general and will need gentle and calm handling along with patience and a lot of treats! Having said that he is slowly becoming more trusting and will now take treats from my hand.

They can both be very playful and will play chase along with the other dogs in the home. Jack has started to take an interest in toys and steals them into the kitchen to play with which is lovely to see. They are a pleasure to have and make their foster mum smile as they gain more confidence every day.

Both boys chewed their feet when they were first fostered, Jack has now stopped however Daniels still has a tendency to chew but I’m sure this is now a habit rather than caused by a health issue. Jack gets very dirty ears so he will need them cleaned on a regular basis to prevent a build up of wax. Both will require regular baths and trims to maintain their white coats.

Daniels loves everyone and craves to be picked up for cuddles. First job in the morning is to give him a good tickle under his chin which he loves. He is a dear little dog and is very happy to be handled. He is fine in the bath and being dried with a hair dryer. He has started to follow his foster mum around the house and garden with Jack a few paces behind him.

Jack is very hand shy and nervous around humans, if scared he will run in fright so a very secure garden is a must. He will need patience, kindness and lots of treats to continue to show him that all humans are not unkind! He does want to interact with us and watches Daniels and the other dogs have a fuss at a safe distance whilst slowly coming forward for a treat.

Both boys react the same to children as to all humans so a home with older sensible children is needed. When settled they are very playful.

Jack and Daniels are living with several other dogs of all sizes at the moment without any problems at all. They also come to foster mums grooming salon and welcome all the dogs entering with waggy tails. Neither boy has reacted to any dog they have met either in the home, salon or out and about. They are very friendly little chaps when in the company of other dogs.

They have not cat tested and can’t be trusted with small animals.

Jack and Daniels are a pleasure to have in the home, they are both almost housetrained with having just the odd accident inside. They sleep together in a pen where there is a crate left open. They snuggle up together in a cosy bed, however Jack does like to chew and suck the bed which reminds me of a child having a comfort blanket! Apart from the bed neither boy has been destructive and can be left quite happily for a few hours.

Both boys eat together and have good appetites, neither have shown any aggression towards food, toys or anything else for that matter. I haven’t even heard them bark! I’m sure in time they will be fabulous little dogs with huge characters.

Whilst Daniels walks very well now on a harness and lead Jack is still very nervous and will look to Daniels for security. Jack will therefore need more gradual and treat based reward work on lead walking. Both boys travel extremely well particularly in a crate and will just fall asleep. Both are a little nervous at the vets but show absolutely no aggression at all.

Jack and Daniels will need a home where you have time to carry on the training of Daniels and slowly bringing Jack out of his shell showing him kindness, patience, love and treats. Everything at the moment is scary and new to both boys so a home that isn’t too noisy and or busy would be best.
