Betty is a 6-year old Cavalier King Charles, who is being fostered in Newport, South Wales. She is snorer and a typical little lap dog who wags her tail every time you walk into a room unless she’s following right behind you.

People – Betty is good with both sexes and all ages after getting to know them. Betty is happiest when she has adult company around. She loves human attention but still cowers sometimes when you stroke her but this is becoming less often now.

Dogs –   Betty is fine with other dogs and doesn’t really bother with them but does need the company of another dog.

Cats – Betty is not interested in cats.

In the home –  Betty shows no signs of separation anxiety and isn’t destructive at all. She is scared of most normal everyday noises, which is expected, but her reactions to them are good and obviously will get better over time. Her house training is a work in progress but she has been clean for some time. Betty likes to suck blankets and just generally be with you as much as possible. She is very loving and affectionate.  Betty is a typical cavalier who is very food driven but not at all possessive or aggressive. She is a happy older girl who’s tail is always wagging when she gets to know you and is full of kisses. Betty has a Grade 3 heart murmur but is not on medication

Out and about – Betty enjoys a drive in the car and she is progressing well on the lead. She is indifferent to the dogs she meets and is slow to approach people. She loves nothing more than to cuddle up to you and spend her day sleeping but also likes a little explore on her lead for a sniff as long as it isn’t too far. Walks are still new to her and when she gets tired she asks to be picked up.

Type of home – Betty needs someone who is home most of the time as she loves human company. She needs another dog but an older not bouncy dog as she is a tiny 4.8 kilos and not at all playful. If she is homed with children then they must be over 5 as she is an older girl who deserves a nice quiet easy life. A nice quiet home with the odd walk and day out would be ideal.

Betty is not neutered as she has just come out of season so commitment to neuter will be required and followed up.  She is chipped, vaccinated and up to date with her flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet her in her foster home in Newport, South Wales
