REHOMED SUBJECT TO HOMECHECK

Ron is 9 weeks on 16/11/2018 and is a Pug cross who is being fostered in Crewe, Cheshire. He is a typical puppy. He is into everything and always making you laugh with him comical ways. Ron is just learning to wag his piggy tail and play with toys so he is amusing and a real little character.

People – As with all puppies, Ron loves to be around people. He does not respect personal space and will make a fuss at the slightest opportunity.

Dogs –  Ron is very sociable with other dogs as typical boisterous puppy

Cats – Ron will try and chase the cat to play with-but he is quickly learning that the cat will tell him off!

In the home – as a puppy farm puppy Ron will need full training from basic house training to lead training. He sleeps in a cage at night. Being a young puppy He will chew and investigate everything so will need to be closely monitored while getting used to his new home.

Out and about – Ron is just getting used to his collar and has not had any walks yet.

Type of home – As Ron is a very small the puppy, he would need someone home for the majority of the day and would not suit being left for long periods of time. He needs a home that has experience of pugs and a family that will give a lot of time to training and continuing socialisation.

Ron is chipped, vaccinated and up to date with his flea and worming treatment. Ron is too young to be neutered but will be issued with a neutering contract which will make it the responsibility of his adopters to get this done when he is 6 months of age. This will be followed up. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet him in his foster home in Crewe

Milly and Misty

Millie and Misty are now ready to start looking for their forever home. They are around seven or eight months old and are total sweethearts. Their foster mum describes them as being cheeky and adorable. Millie is the chatty one, she loves a good heart to heart about poetry, philosophy or politics (she’s pro cat, lukewarm dog and pro chicken for breakfast). Misty is the funny one, loves laps and if she thinks that you should be giving her more fuss she will climb up your jeans and demand it! She was the shyer at first but is now a proper diva. Playful with the other kittens and will listen to your woes with a non-judgemental ear. Fluffy’s coat is a little longer that Misty’s but Misty literally wears her heart on her sleeve and will adore her new forever humans.

Name: Lark

Age: 10 months

Breed: Pug X

Can I live with Children?: Yes

Can I live with cats?: Not tested

Can I live with other dogs?: Yes, at least 1 resident dog

Fostered In: Gwent

Lark is a 10 month  old Pug cross who is being fostered in Gwent, South Wales She is a very well adjusted and confident girl. She doesn’t appear nervous but she does enjoy the company of other dogs and we think she needs that interaction with another resident dog.

People – Lark is very friendly towards all adults and children she has met. Always wagging her tail and running up and greeting people, Lark loves cuddling and will snuggle up but is also happy to then go into her bed when she’s ready. She can be touched and smoothed all over her body and has no issues

Dogs –  Lark is very sociable and friendly with all dogs both the ones she lives with and when meeting dogs out on walks. She wags her tail and runs up to them to greet them whatever their age, sex or size. She is very confident with all dogs. Lark enjoys playing with and chewing her toys and willingly shares her toys.

Cats – Not cat tested

In the home – Lark is happy to be left for up to 4 to 5 hours a day. She is not destructive at all and just settles down and sleeps. Lark loves to look out of the lounge window and watch and bark at the world going by but she isn’t a persistent barker by any means and it’s quite endearing. Lark gives a lovely welcome when you return from a few hours out. Lark then likes to snuggle and cuddle in for the evening.

Out and about – Lark gets very excited to go for a walk and thoroughly enjoys her walks. She walks very well on a lead. She does not pull at all and spends a lot of time just sniffing around and walking leisurely taking in her surroundings.

Type of home – Lark is very confident and sociable and would fit well into most homes. She would get on with any type of dog and person but an active home would probably be best

Zoe is around two and a half and has had an awful life so far. She has already had at least 4 litters of kittens after her previous owners moved and left her behind. She’s been spayed, vaccinated and chipped and is now ready for her future in a loving home to begin. She would like eventually to go outside as she loves to sit in the window and watch the world go by. She is great with humans very loving and friendly but will stick up for herself if they annoy her too much. She doesn’t really interact with the other cats but if they don’t bother her she won’t bother them so would either need to be only pet or with confident pets. She loves to play and will chase a ball or just race around.

Alice – 5-year old West Highland Terrier – Somerset

Name: Alice

Age: 5 years

Breed: West Highland Terrier

Can I live with Children?: Terrier aware  children

Can I live with cats?: No

Can I live with other dogs?: Yes, a must

Fostered In: Somerset

Alice is a 5-year old West Highland Terrier who is being fostered in Somerset. She is an optimistic and happy little dog, more than ready to put her previous life completely behind her. She loves attention from people once she’s got to know them, and will do her little frog legs wiggle when she is really happy.

People – Alice seems very happy around people. She will put her paws on you up a lot and actively asks for a fuss. She is a bit shy about being picked up but does seem to enjoy it, she’s not too sure what to do if you put her on your lap, but she enjoys the contact. Alice likes to roll on her back and have her tummy tickled once she knows you. Alice has sore ears, she likes a little rub and will probably enjoy that more once they are better. She still cowers a bit when having the lead clipped onto the harness on her back, and when you bend down to fuss her on her back or if you take her by surprise she will flatten herself to the floor a little bit, but generally she likes a fuss.

Dogs –  Alice seems to be generally very good with other dogs. Out and about she shows interest and sniffed and walked well with others. She won’t yet join in with play with them with raggy toys, but she will run behind her foster friends as they run through the house, and sometimes she’ll do an extra little lap of victory!

Cats – Alice will chase cats

In the home – Alice is not keen on being left. She likes to get up and follow her person around the house and be involved in everything. We don’t think she has separation anxiety but it would be wise for her new family to get her used to being left from the start as she does bond and want to be a part of everything very quickly. Alice doesn’t bark yet, but her ears are pricked and she’s interested if she thinks something is going on. She can’t quite reach it here, but she would love to have a window seat to keep an eye on everybody. Alice is a very quick learner, and will adapt to rules about food manners very quickly. She gives more love than she takes with her people. Alice does love a cosy armchair and will spend the day happily snoozing – she is very easy to have around.

Out and about – Alice enjoys her walks and being out and about in general. She is tolerant of the people and dogs she meets.

Type of home – Alice might be best in an adult only home unless the children were very dog / terrier savvy and there was no chance that they would accidentally touch her sore legs. We think she would like someone round most of the time, but could cope with part time workers if there was a routine and she knew what to expect. Alice would benefit from someone with knowledge of Westies to give her the best care regarding her skin and diet, and to recognise that lots of her growly bits are just her being a terrier.

Alice is neutered, chipped, vaccinated and up to date with her flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet her in her foster home in Somerset.

Name: Wilf

Age: 1 year old

Can I live with Children?: Teenagers

Can I live with cats?: Not cats please

Can I live with other dogs?: Yes, but not old dogs!

Fostered In: Rhondda, South Wales

Name: Wilf

Age: 15 months

Breed: Spaniel X

Can I live with Children?: Teenagers

Can I live with cats?: Not cats please

Can I live with other dogs?: Yes, but not old dogs!

Fostered In: Rhondda, South Wales

Wilf is a 15-month old Spaniel cross who is being fostered in RCT, South Wales. He is a typical playful pup. Wilf has poor vision and has had a couple of seizures possibly due to a head trauma suffered as a younger puppy. His seizures seem to be monthly so he needs someone who’s calm and won’t panic as they only last about a minute and then he’s disorientated for about 15 minutes after before he’s back to normal.

People – Wilf loves all people. He loves all contact and especially cuddles and lap time. As a puppy he is very playful so teenage children who are happy to play ball with him would be fantastic. He may be a bit boisterous for really small children.

Dogs –  Yes he is friendly with dogs of different sizes and breeds. As a pup he may be too much for older, less mobile dogs

Cats – No cats please.

In the home – As Wilf has previously has some seizures it would be better if he was not left for long periods. He is not destructive at all and is happy to play with and share his toys with others. As will all owners of puppies know, it is best not to leave hanging wires, clothes and other temptations for Wilf. He will try to test boundaries so he will need a family that are prepared to work with him. They may also need to adjust their day to day routines a little – don’t leave things in easy reach on the worktops etc and keep an eye on him so he doesn’t pinch the cutlery out of the sink. Once Wilf gets an idea in his head there is no shifting it and he will test boundaries.

Out and about – Wilf walks well on the lead. He is nervous of large lorries or bin lorries. He enjoys a game of chase with the other dogs and also playing ball with his human friends although he’s not yet giving it back for you to throw again. He loves to explore and sniff off lead in woodlands if there’s nothing about as he gets very frightened if off lead dogs run up to him and will bolt.

Type of home – Wilf would suit a wide range of homes but would need a family where he is not left for long periods of time. He can live with or without another dog and would like walks away from too much traffic. He likes a large garden that he can potter around and play and a comfy sofa to curl up on of an evening. Older children are fine but he may be too bouncy for younger ones. A family who can accept that Wilf is essentially handicapped and like any dog he will need to be given time to settle and not be a ready made fit.

Wilf is neutered, chipped, vaccinated and up to date with his flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet him in his foster home in Rhondda, South Wales

Can I live with other dogs?: Yes, at least 1 other calm dog

Fostered In: Rhondda, South Wales

Mindy is an tiny sweetheart. Although not very vocal she loves a fuss and a cuddle and her idea of heaven is to be curled up on your chest nuzzling your neck. Her tail never stops wagging and this underlines her pleasant personality

People – Mindy is happy around people and loves to be fussed and cuddles. As she is quiet in nature we think she might be slightly unnerved by really young children

Dogs –  Mindy is relaxed and happy around other dogs

Cats – Not tested

In the home – Mindy’s house training is nearly complete and we only have the odd mistake. She does not play with toys and prefers to curl up in a bed, on a settee or the  nearest available lap.

Out and about – The big outside world is still strange and scary for Mindy and she is not keen on leads walking so her new family must be prepared to work at her pace.

Type of home – Mindy needs a quiet home with one or two confident resident dogs to help with her rehabilitation. She needs a family that is prepared to invest time and effort and will cherish the love and affection she gives in return.

Fostered In: Gloucester

Megan is a delightful little West Highland Terrier who is being fostered in Worcester. She is 4 years  old and loves watching dogs on TV. She always greets her foster mom excitedly when she returns. Megan loves having her tummy rubbed and will grunt contentedly like a little porker.

People – Megan is quite comfortable around adults and is relaxed enough to lie down next to them without prompting. She is fearful of children under 10.

Dogs –  Megan is happy around most dogs except large boisterous ones. Small boisterous are fine.

Cats –  Megan is not sure what cats are but the chase instinct seems to be there

In the home – Megan is happy to be left for short periods. She is initially fearful of loud noises around the home but soon gets used to them.

Out and about – Megan enjoys being out and is very confident on her lead. She needs recall training.

Name: Betty

Age: 6 years old

Breed: Cavalier King Charles

Can I live with Children?: Older children please

Can I live with cats?: Yes

Can I live with other dogs?: Yes, at least one resident dog please

Fostered In: South Wales

Betty is a 6-year old Cavalier King Charles, who is being fostered in Newport, South Wales. She is snorer and a typical little lap dog who wags her tail every time you walk into a room unless she’s following right behind you.

People – Betty is good with both sexes and all ages after getting to know them. Betty is happiest when she has adult company around. She loves human attention but still cowers sometimes when you stroke her but this is becoming less often now.

Dogs –   Betty is fine with other dogs and doesn’t really bother with them but does need the company of another dog.

Cats – Betty is not interested in cats.

In the home –  Betty shows no signs of separation anxiety and isn’t destructive at all. She is scared of most normal everyday noises, which is expected, but her reactions to them are good and obviously will get better over time. Her house training is a work in progress but she has been clean for some time. Betty likes to suck blankets and just generally be with you as much as possible. She is very loving and affectionate.  Betty is a typical cavalier who is very food driven but not at all possessive or aggressive. She is a happy older girl who’s tail is always wagging when she gets to know you and is full of kisses. Betty has a Grade 3 heart murmur but is not on medication

Out and about – Betty enjoys a drive in the car and she is progressing well on the lead. She is indifferent to the dogs she meets and is slow to approach people. She loves nothing more than to cuddle up to you and spend her day sleeping but also likes a little explore on her lead for a sniff as long as it isn’t too far. Walks are still new to her and when she gets tired she asks to be picked up.

Type of home – Betty needs someone who is home most of the time as she loves human company. She needs another dog but an older not bouncy dog as she is a tiny 4.8 kilos and not at all playful. If she is homed with children then they must be over 5 as she is an older girl who deserves a nice quiet easy life. A nice quiet home with the odd walk and day out would be ideal.

Betty is not neutered as she has just come out of season so commitment to neuter will be required and followed up.  She is chipped, vaccinated and up to date with her flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet her in her foster home in Newport, South Wales

Age: 8 Months

Breed: Jack Russell Terrier

Can I live with Children?: Yes, older ones

Can I live with cats?: Not tested

Can I live with other dogs?: Yes

Fostered In: Rhondda, South Wales

Tilly is an 8-month old Jack Russell Terrier, who is being fostered in RCT, South Wales. She has a beautiful loving nature and she loves to cuddle.

People – Tilly loves all people and will even go back to folk she doesn’t think have fussed her enough. Because of her past life she loves attention and will jump up when excited which may cause problems around smaller children. She really is a sweetheart and is at her happiest sitting with her human.

Dogs – Tilly lives with dogs at the moment without any issues

Cats – Not tested

In the home – Tilly’s toilet training is a work in progress. She is doing very well but will not wait! Tilly is very food orientated which makes her easy to train but beware of low flying Tilly if there is food about. She loves to play with paper and will rip it into tiny pieces. She has bags of energy and loves zooming around the bungalow in laps tossing her toys in the air as she goes. Tilly is fascinated by any animals on TV and looks around the back to see where they have gone when they have gone off the screen!

Out and about – Tilly walks well on her lead. She does get excited when she sets off but soon calms down. Tilly tends to get car sick on long journeys

Type of home – We would recommend a busy household for Tilly with older children because of her jumping. She would be fine with another dog for company. Her new owners should have puppy training knowledge and understand that because of her poor start in life she is extra needy.

Tilly is neutered, chipped, vaccinated and up to date with her flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet her in her foster home in Rhondda, South Wales

Name: Belle

Age: 4

Breed: Tan and White British Bulldog

Can I live with Children?: Yes

Can I live with cats?: Not officially tested

Can I live with other dogs?: Yes please. Other dogs a must

Fostered In: Cornwall

Belle is a four-year old British Bulldog who is being fostered in Cornwall. She has the loudest snore we have ever heard! You can hear her snoring through the floor. She loves her food and will do all she can to have a sneaky bite of whatever you have to eat but this will have to be limited as it is important to keep an eye on her figure.

People – Belle loves as much attention as possible and will get on your lap if not getting enough attention. She loves children and tolerates small children fussing her.

Dogs –  Belle loves all other dogs

Cats – Not interested until they run then she will chase, but not officially cat tested.

In the home – Belle chews when bored. She will chew table corners if left without stimulation and she thoroughly enjoys dismantling books from the book shelf so don’t use the bottom shelf! Plenty of things to occupy her seem to work as a distraction. She can be left for short periods with no problem. Belle loves watching dogs on tv and is happiest on your lap and being involved in anything you do. She enjoys opening and unwrapping presents especially if they contain a ball or other doggy toys. They get ripped to shreds quickly but they are great while they last. She sits on your feet and snorts for attention.

Out and about – Belle loves being out and will pull with excitement and if a car goes by as she likes to chase them. This is being worked on in her foster home and further training will be required in her new home. Belle loves walks and she will walk about 2/3 miles a day and enjoys games in the garden. She’s very active for a bulldog.

Type of home – Belle loves other dogs and would benefit from having a doggy friend or 2 in her new house, especially if she was to be left at all. She adapts well to situations and is such a happy lovely natured dog we feel she would fit well in most homes. Her new family MUST be prepared to keep her weight in check and ensure she stays below 24kg to maintain her current good health. Belle would like a home where she can be the centre of someone’s universe and be their baby and have loves ALL day long!!

Fostered In: South Wales

Sadie is a 10-month old Cavalier King Charlies who is being fostered in South Wales After a horrible start in life, Sadie is responding well to love and attention. Sadie thrives in the company other dogs and loves been in their company. She enjoys human company and is happiest on the settee having a snuggle.

People – Sadie is very nervous and unsure when she meets new people but she is improving every day and will soon gain her full Cavalier loving nature. Sadie is initially fearful if you try to touch or catch her as she likes to make the first move. Children will need to be dog savvy and respect her space as she adjusts.

Dogs –  Sadie is happy around other dogs and will need a resident dog to help her adjust to her new life

Cats – Sadie barks at cats

In the home – Sadie is progressing well with her house training but it is still a work in progress. She can be left for short periods as long as she has the company of another dog. She still jumps at strange noises but improvement is ongoing.

Out and about – Walking on a lead is new to Sadie so is a work in progress. The big wide world is full of unusual noises that are strange to her.

Type of home – Sadie needs a home with another playful dog as she loves to play. Sadie is a fast learner and due to her age adapts quickly. We are looking for a home where her humans are around for most of the day as this will help with her ongoing socialisation and housetraining. She will need a patient owner who is willing to go at her pace and work with her with regard to lead walking etc.

Sadie is not neutered as she has just come out of season so commitment to neuter will be required and followed up.  She is chipped, vaccinated and up to date with her flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet her in her foster home in South Wales

Name: Saskie

Age: 6 years old

Breed: Cavalier King Charles, Tricolor

Can I live with Children?: Yes, older children only please

Can I live with cats?: Not tested

Can I live with other dogs?: Yes, another quite resident dog is a must

Fostered In: Rhondda

Saskie is looking for a local long-term foster home to spend her retirement in a home full of love where she can be cared for. Despite a rotten start in life, Saskie is a wonderful, sweet little lady who’s tail never stops wagging. She is eager to please and constantly seeks reassurance that she is doing the right thing. She loves cuddles and tickles and will sit next to you for hours in an upright position until her head finally gets too heavy!

People – Saskie loves people and, in particular, her mammy. She is happy to be touched and craves the attention of her humans.

Dogs – Saskie needs a calm resident dog to teach her how to become part of a family. She is eager to  learn and thrives on praise.

Cats – Saskie has not been tested with cats

In the home – Saskie is working on her house training and is nearly there. She is not destructive at all and prefers to spend her time sleeping on the settee as long as she can see her human. She can be left for short periods.

Out and about – Saskie is new to the outside world and busy streets and noise make her nervous, as does a lead so her walking is not brilliant and will need to be worked on. She is happy to meet other dogs and people and will always come for a cuddle.

Type of home – Saskie needs a quiet home with at least one other dog where she can get plenty of attention from her family and and a nice safe place to rest in her retirement.

Saskie has a heart condition which is being managed locally. She needs this to be under  control before she can be neutered and have the dental work she needs. For this reason we would like Saskie to be re-homed locally where she can continue her treatment with our vets.

Saskie is not neutered as she has just come out of season so commitment to neuter will be required and followed up.  She is chipped, vaccinated and up to date with her flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet her in her foster home in Rhondda, South Wales

Fostered In: South Wales

Andy is a 5-month old Cavalier cross Bichon Frise who is being fostered in South Wales. He loves his humans and he loves a good cuddle. He enjoys being groomed and fussed. Every time he goes out into the garden he returns with a stone or a stick, he even came in with a 10p coin last week, which foster mum swiftly retrieved! He loves playing with a ball and his squeaky toys. He sleeps on his back with four feet in the air and snores. He likes to help to shred any unwanted junk mail, he’s very good at it too!

Dogs –  Andy is very sociable with other dogs and will only be rehomed where he has another dog for company.

He would make a wonderful companion dog, as he’s an absolute pleasure to have around. He’s very unassuming and doesn’t demand attention, but does love company. He needs to be groomed regularly to prevent his fur from knotting.

Andy is not yet neutered but should be ready in the next month or so. It is will be condition of adoption that he is neutered as soon as the vet agrees he is mature enough. This is Buster and this is what his foster mum has to say “We have never met a more affectionate animal in our whole lives and all he wants to do is cuddle up on your lap and give you a head boop or five. He is a VERY big boy and really appreciates a Dreamie or five. He’ll partake in a fifteen minute playtime and the rest of the day he just wants naps wherever you are and scratches. He’s never swiped or even considered biting at either of us or shown any negative personality. Buster is a very cuddly, very nice, and very loving boy and would fit in to any home with a cat (who he ignores) or kids with ease”

Name: Mili

Age: 3 years old

Breed: Cavalier King Charles Spaniel

Can I live with Children?: No

Can I live with cats?: Not tested

Can I live with other dogs?: I can live with an older quiet dog but may prefer to be an only dog

Fostered In: Rhondda, South Wales

Mili is a complicated little King Charles Spaniel who is 3-years old and being fostered in RCT, South Wales. Mili has spent her life in an autistic household where the stress levels were constantly high. As a result, Mili does not react well in stressful situations. She can snap when stressed in situations of commotion such as children, loud constant noise and busy little dogs.

People – Mili is fine around adults that treat her with respect. She responds very well once trust is gained and it is done on her terms. She likes cuddling with mum and dad and sleeps on the bed wonderfully. Although she is improving daily, we will not rehome her with children.

Dogs –  Mili does not like busy little dogs who do not respect her space. Our initial thoughts were to home her as an only dog but she is showing signs of bonding with our older dogs. She will cuddle with our old male Cavalier and actively seeks him out at sleep time.

Cats –  Not tested with cats.

In the home – Mili has her chair at home and spends most of her time there. She is fully housetrained and not destructive at all. She is not keen on being left. Mili has learned some terrible habits at human meal times and will bother mum and dad mercilessly. She will join her humans for cuddles and is starting to play with toys.

Out and about –  Mili loves her walks. She would spend her day walking if she could. She is not actively aggressive but doesn’t like dogs fussing around her.

Type of home – Mili needs a quiet home with a family that understands her challenges and is used to working with dogs like Mili. The positives outweigh the negatives with Mili. She is a sweet soul who is always pleased to see her foster mum and dad and really wants to get involved. She has huge potential and will reward patience with love and devotion.

Mili is neutered, chipped, vaccinated and up to date with her flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet her in her foster home in Rhondda, South Wales.

Age: 9 Years
Breed: Rough Collie Bitch
Can I live with Children?: Older children

Can I live with other dogs?: Yes, older or similar aged dog
Fostered In: South Wales

Lassie is a beautiful 9-year old sable and white rough collie who is being fostered in South Wales. She loves attention and fuss. She loves her walks and activities but soon settles down to snooze away in the down time in between

People – Lassie loves people of all shapes and sizes as long as they give her the attention she craves. Young children can frighten her so older children only please

Dogs –   Lassie lives happily with an older dog at the moment and is good mixing with other dogs when off lead to play

Cats –  Lassie is fine with cats but has not been tested on other small furries

In the home – Lassie behaves well in the home. She is fully house trained and non destructive. She can be left for short periods.

She would need someone who is going to put the effort into grooming her beautiful coat as she needs a good brush at least 3 times a week. You can tell just by looking at this handsome boy that he’s quite a character and Foster Mum Katy certainly agrees with that. Heston was found wandering the streets as a stray and we think he was trying to use those fabulous ears as antenna to find a bun-friend.  Luckily, as he wasn’t neutered at the time, we found him first and now he is responsibly looking for love with a special girl-bun!

Although we don’t know his age exactly, he appears quite a young chap and certainly has lots of energy so will need plenty of space to run around, binky and jump – all of which he does enthusiastically. Once he’s tired himself out doing that, he would love a bun-friend to snuggle up with.

As well as loving life, he also loves his food and thinks nothing of using his charm and fabulous ears to try and coax extra goodies from Foster Mum. To be honest, we think there are few females of any species that wouldn’t be charmed by this gorgeous boy with the best ears in the galaxy!

Heston is neutered and fully vaccinated and is now looking for his own forever home with a special girl bun to provide the adoration he and his ears so deserve. If you think you and your bun are the ones Heston’s antenna were looking for, just complete the following form:

Rehomed Lexi – 4 year old Jack Russell – Derbyshire

lexi

Name: Lexi

Age: 4-years old

Breed: Jack Russell terrier

Can I live with Children: Older children

Can I live with cats: TBC

Can I live with other dogs: No

Fostered In: Derbyshire

Lexi is a four-year old Jack Russell girl who is being fostered in Derbyshire. She is a typical terrier who will need further training and socialisation but has a lot of love to give and in the right home we know she will reach her full potential.

People – Lexi loves people, she is very person focused. She got all wiggly at seeing children at the vets. However, she is very bouncy and we wouldn’t recommend that she go to a home with young children. She adores her humans and would be with you every minute of every day if she had the chance.

Dogs –  Lexi will walk passed other dogs on walks but will react if a dog reacts to her first. Lexi has previously lived in a multi-dog household but we feel that she would be better as an only dog. She has met other dogs through a stairgate and will tolerate them but doesn’t like playful youngsters.

Cats – Lexi has lived with several cats in her previous home and will be cat tested shortly.

In the home –  Lexi has been left for a couple of hours at a time and initially did cry but soon settled. She has not been crated due to having spent too much time in one in her previous home. Lexi does try to bite the vacuum cleaner, and this behaviour should not be encouraged.

Out and about – Lexi walks on a harness but still pulls and is very strong. She does calm down during her walk and pulls less on the way home. When meeting other dogs her adopters will have to take care with her toy obsession – she is likely to steal toys from other dogs. Lexi has visited the vets and was fine apart from becoming slightly anxious with other dogs in the waiting room. In the car she will jump around if not secured. She does tend to squeak on car journeys but enjoys looking out of the window.

Type of home – Lexi is looking for a home as an only dog where her humans are around for most of the day. She requires further training and socialisation and needs to learn about walking on a lead properly and recall. Lexi is very toy motivated and does love a ball to play with. Unfortunately, she is highly excitable, and her adrenaline levels rocket very quickly during periods of play. We recommend that toys are limited to Lexi in her new home and periods of play are introduced carefully in the garden and never on walks. Lexi needs humans who will work with her and keep stimulation to a minimum to ensure that Lexi stays calm. She needs someone who understands dogs and can see when they are uncomfortable with certain situations. Gentle and calm handling is an absolute must – as well as stocking up on Kongs and lickmats. Lexi will not be rehomed with other dogs or with young children.

Lexi is neutered, chipped, vaccinated and up to date with her flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet her in her foster home in Derbyshire.

Name: Bobby

Age: 3 years old approx

Breed: Bichon Frise

Can I live with Children: Older children

Can I live with cats: Not known

Can I live with other dogs: Yes, but may be better as an only dog

Fostered In: Stone, Staffordshire

Bobby is a 3-year old Bichon Frise boy who is being fostered in Stone, Staffordshire. He is a fun-loving bouncy lad who is looking for an active home where his people are around for most of the day.

People – Bobby loves people but can be wary of strangers to start with. He will bark and does need some time to adjust to people coming and going. He hasn’t met any children but we think he could live with older, sensible children. He is excitable and will jump up to say hello.

Dogs –  Little Bobby has only just been castrated, meaning he still has plenty of hormones surging around in his body. He can be frisky when meeting other dogs but soon settles. Other than that he is a friendly, bouncy boy who loves to have a game with the other dogs in his foster home.

Cats – He hasn’t met any cats yet.

In the home –  Bobby is housetrained and isn’t scared of household noises. He loves to follow his humans around and will be your constant companion. Bobby has been left for a morning or an afternoon and is crated overnight with no problems at all. He hasn’t shown any signs of being destructive apart of having little nibble on some shoes since being in foster.

Out and about – Bobby walks on a harness and lead while out and will pull! He enjoys his walks and is very energetic so will need an active home and regular exercise. He is calm at the vets and travels well – even on short journeys.

Type of home – Bobby needs a home where his people are around for at least part of the day. He may be suitable for someone who doesn’t work full days but would prefer someone who is around for most of the time. He is looking for a home where he gets regular exercise and with someone who doesn’t mind taking him to the groomers for a tidy up every couple of months. He will only be rehomed where any children in the house are older and dog savvy. He does get on with other dogs but would prefer to live on his own.

Bobby is neutered, chipped, vaccinated and up to date with her flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet him in his foster home in Stone, Staffordshire.

Lucy’s Law update

Yesterday three of our ex puppyfarm dogs were invited to number 10 Downing Street accompanied by our Founder and Rescue Coordinator Eileen Jones to celebrate the Lucys Law campaign of which we have been a part. Official photos will be released in a few days but here’s a taste of the day. The dogs were total stars and were even allowed to park in Downing Street. A great day with exciting news on the way.
Special mention must be given to the wonderful police officers, No 10 staff and the caterers for making the dogs and Eileen so very welcome and doing everything they could to ensure the dogs were happy and comfortable in what was for them a very ‘different’ environment.
