On This Morning TV
When Volunteers sign up to be Fosters they know there may be some challenges but appearing on television doesn’t usually come in the job description.

Nell – 2-year old Cocker Spaniel cross Cavalier
Name: Nell
Age: 2 years old
Breed: Cavalier King Charles/Cocker X

Fostered In: Newport, South Wales
Nell is a 2-year old ex-breeding girl who is being fostered in Newport, South Wales. She isn’t your typical shut down ex-breeding girl and is a friendly, active dog. Nell has a slight heart murmur which does not require medication.
People – Nell loves people of both sexes and all ages and will greet them with a wagging tail after the initial sniff. Nell is happy to be touched She can still be a bit skittish if startled her. She has been to the vets many times for examinations and is perfectly happy to be touched everywhere.
Dogs – Nell is currently in foster with 2 female dogs and has also met family dogs of both sexes and all ages. She is fine with all but will growl if they’re too boisterous for her
Cats – Not cat tested
In the home – She loves to follow you around the house and be with you wherever you are. Nell loves to play/destroy toys socks and blankets but also loves nothing more than cuddling up to you on the settee in the evening. When left Nell would rather roam free in the house as she will dig at doors if left in loose in a room. If this is not possible, she would need to be crate trained. House training is a work in progress. Until Nell settles she will need constant supervision – she is an escape artist and gardens will have to be secure. Care must be taken when opening front doors etc so that she doesn’t slip out.
Out and about – Adopters will need to continue with Nell’s training in this area. She is getting there with lead walking but does zig zag a lot as she really isn’t used to it yet. She does enjoy zooming around though and will need regular exercise.
Type of home – Nell needs another dog in her new home. She is learning well from the dogs she is in foster with and loves cuddling with them. She is also less destructive when left with resident dogs. An active home would be ideal as she loves a good walk and a run. Nell is fine with children 5 and over but has not met any younger than that.

Ruby is an 11-year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and she is fostered in Berkshire. Ruby is full of life and interested in what everyone is getting up to, and likes to let you know if she approves or not, and if you are getting that dinner ready quickly enough for her!
People – Ruby is very happy around people and happy to have fuss and attention. She is a bit uncomfortable with her feet and legs being touched, but she has sore legs so to be expected.
Ruby can be a little reserved when she first meets new people, but once she has the measure of you she will ask for tummy tickles, give little kisses and loves to snuggle on the sofa if you help her up and down.
Dogs – Ruby gets on well with all the dogs in her foster home so would benefit from living with another similar sized dog.
Cats – Not cat tested.
In the home – Ruby is not keen on being left at home and will bark. She is housetrained. She loves a snuggle on the sofa if you help her up and down.
Out and about – She will pull slightly and bark a lot initially when leaving the house and gets very excited. She loves to be out and about but will bark at the sight of other dogs.
Type of home – Ruby is looking for someone around a lot of the day and loves to be involved in what you’re doing, love human company and physical contact. She also thrives on routine and knowing what’s coming next.
Please note: Ruby has a heart murmur but has no clinical signs of heart failure. Ruby’s legs are quite bad generally. Her new family may need to make adaptions in the home so that Ruby can be involved as much as possible without straining her joints. Ruby also has some LHS facial paralysis and a tilt, but she manages well. There will be no adoption donation required for Ruby due to her ongoing health issues. FOAW will continue to pay for her non-routine vet bills and medication.

Hugo is a 9-month old Cavalier cross Bichon Frise
who is being fostered in Crewe, Cheshire. He is the happiest foster dog, When
he runs his ears go like helicopters, he loves being out in all weathers
exploring the countryside and the loves nothing more than retiring to his
favourite chair in the house to sleep.
People –Hugo loves people. Sometimes he can be a little unsure initially but is soon won over with a treat then is everyone’s best friend. Hugo would suit a family with older children only. Hugo loves being touched, groomed and bathed
Dogs – Hugo loves other dogs and will play with all shapes and sizes of dog.
Cats – Hugo currently lives with a cat and 2 parrots and totally ignores them.
In the home – Hugo is cage trained and will settle when left but will cry initially. This stops after a few minutes and he settles with no issue but a new home should expect this initially as Hugo bonds very quickly with people and wants to be with you. He will be kept amused with a chew or stuffed kong when left. Hugo isn’t destructive except for socks left on the floor.
Out and about – Hugo does pull slightly when excited for his walks but this is improving with training. Hugo loves going in the car and travels with no issue. He might be cute and fluffy but a muddy puddle or wet field and he will charge around loving getting grubby! He gets baths more than once a week to keep him fluffy and cute!
Type of home – Hugo would suit an active family who will take him new places, let him run around in safe spaces and also maintain his coat through regular grooming and brushing. Hugo is an absolutely lovely dog who is so eager to please and will make whoever adopts him the most loyal happy dog. His tail never stops wagging and he is a wonderful companion already even though he is just a baby so whoever adopts him will be very lucky.

Roxy is an 8-month old Cavalier, who is being fostered in Newport, South Wales. She is a typical playful 8 months old puppy that is excited all the time and loves life. Roxy is a very quick learner and has learned to sit and wait for her treats just like her foster brother and sister.
Health Issues – Roxy has misshaped kidneys so her new family will need to immediately seek treatment for any water infections.
Out and about – She walks very well on the lead and enjoys being outside. She’s very inquisitive and will greet everyone she sees be it human or dog.
People – Roxy loves her humans but gets scared if you raise your voice and can be submissive if you shout. She is very loving likes to touching you or lying on your lap. Roxy loves children and will cuddle with children given the opportunity. She is the most loving girl that will jump up on her foster mum’s lap and put her face on her face and close her eyes waiting to be smoothed and loved. She loves cuddling with her foster mum and laying on her lap in the evenings.
Dogs – Roxy loves to play and needs a young playful brother or sister to burn off her energy. She can be quite persistent when she wants to play and can annoy a dog that is very laid back and doesn’t have her energy as she will keep goading them over and over, so a confident playful dog would be best as they can still put her in her place if needed.
Cats – She is fine with both cats and rabbits just a little bit inquisitive at times.
In the home – Her manners around food are not brilliant and she will steal. She is fine to be left for short periods. Roxy displays typical puppy behaviour and will chew things lying around. She will steal socks, pegs etc and will eat anything lying on the floor. Her toilet training is pretty much sorted and she loves nothing more than being out the garden, running up and down chasing anyone that wants to play with her. Roxy does not like it in a crate and will make a racket if put in one. She currently sleeps on the settee downstairs on her own and is quite happy with that as she usually passes out about 930pm and will give you a lovely wake up call early in the morning by barking telling you it’s now time to play.
Type of home – A home with a young confident playful brother or sister (possibly another cavalier as she has thrived in a foster home full of cavaliers) that can help burn her energy as she is happy playing exploring and having fun. She loves going on adventures walking and seeing the big world we live in.

Millie is 1-year old Bichon Frise who is being fostered in Rhondda, South Wales. She is pretty much perfect! She’s a little nervous at the moment but this is understandable as she is only young and has moved from a home where she was a much-loved pet and it is all strange to her. Possible slight heart murmur which is being monitored. No treatment needed
People – She’s a little nervous of strangers but once she knows you, she’ll happily sit on your lap for a cuddle. Due to her slightly nervy nature we will only rehome her where any children are older and dog savvy.
Dogs – Millie is friendly with all other dogs
Cats – Not cat tested
In the home – Millie is ok to be left for short periods. She sleeps happily in a dog pen in her foster home. Millie has been an angel since she has been in foster care and has caused no damage at all. She is well adjusted and used to all household noises. She is toilet trained during the day but has had the odd accident over night by the back door.
Out and about – Millie walks well on the lead and enjoys being out and about. Don’t let Millie’s clean, white appearance fool you! She is more than happy to get muddy whilst out enjoying herself. Just today she has been to a local farm with her foster brother exploring the forest and meeting some of the animals.

Type of home – Millie would suit most homes. She could live as an only dog but could also live with another kind, resident dog. She can live with sensible children who aren’t too boisterous but would be equally happy being a companion for a retired person as long as they are happy to take her for nice long walks and allow her to cuddle up to them on the sofa.

Colin and Noel
Please say a special hello to Colin and Noel, two very gorgeous guinea pigs.
These two boys came to us from the same sad situation but had been kept separately. They are now fully bonded which has truly brought their personalities to the fore – they might be small but what they lack in statue they make up for in personality and are both very cheeky!
Colin (ginger and white) and Noel (black) are neutered and now ready to find their perfect forever home together. They need to be kept indoors during the winter with plenty of space to play and explore. These two are looking for more than the minimal welfare size area as they both appreciate enough space to be able to have some ‘alone time’ every so often (I’m pretty sure we’re all a bit like that!) When Colin was neutered, the vet found a lump and he had a little op to have it removed. It was nothing serious – and he is now back to his usual degree of fluffiness! Having got to know these two boys very well, Foster Mum Christine thinks they would be happiest in a home with previous experience of guinea pigs. They occasionally try to nip when being picked up so aren’t really suitable for young children.

Frankie
Hello everyone, my name is Frank but everyone calls me Frankie, and as you can see I’m a beautiful West Highland Terrier.. I wasn’t always so well off you see – as I came from a puppy farm where I had to scrabble for my food and I was kept in filthy, dirty conditions and didn’t get any love from the human people who used me to get money. I suppose my work was much better than the young ladies in the puppy farm as they kept having baby puppies over and over again but I suppose I was one of the puppy farms maker of these puppies and they are not born with good health or in very nice conditions mummy says I was a CASH COW? (don’t know what that means – because I’m not a cow – I don’t think anyway)
Thankfully Friends of the Animals took me on but I needed a Long Term foster home as I am classed as Life Limiting, especially coming from the environment I was in I have quite a few health issues the main one being what they call “Westie Lung” it means I find it hard to breathe some days and I cough quite a bit now I didn’t have any idea about toilet training No’ 1’s or No. 2’s I just thought I had to go wherever I was , I still have a mishap every now and then – I did a lovely episode in my mummys bathroom as that’s where she does her smelly thing and I thought that’s the place to do it – but mummy still said no so outside I go, however, I do tend to keep it for the garden and not when we go for our walks – our walks are to smell and nose around different things and sometimes someone has kindly dropped some left over food on the floor and I rush to get it – Mummy tells me off she says I’m eating rubbish food ( crap she says) and it’s not good for me
But all that changed for me, you see my Lovely foster daddy and mummy fell in love with me (I know how easy that was for them as I’m such a good looker) and I also have another Brother also from a rescue Sammy along with who mummy calls Lunatic Lu (Lulu) and yes she’s another rescue dog and she has the biggest voice in our house. I have to admit even I get fed up of her constant nagging well that’s what daddy used to call it, he’d say that all the females in the house were naggers. And us males were the best. Sometimes I still scout around looking for food even though I have plenty of lovely food (on weekends mummy cooks us fresh chicken as our little spoil – I look forward to that soooooo much – can’t wait for Saturdays to come along) I have gained a little weight as I get worn out if we tend to go for a long walk so I’m not even walking it off (I don’t know what mummy thinks I’m doing but I certainly am walking)
Not long after I went to my foster home my daddy passed away (I think that means he’s gone to a human Rainbow Bridge) I thought my mummy wanted me to go back as she was so sad but my mummy loves having us around her and it is us three guys that kept her going (so she says) so it’s now up to Sammy and myself as the boys of the household to look after her and make sure she’s as happy and loved as we are.
I even went out to play in the snow I’d never seen snow before and when mum called me in to get warm I wanted to stay out and play and hide in the trees at the back of the garden – I have little special dens that I hide in out the garden and it’s a big garden sometimes mummy thinks I’m lost but I’m not I’m just playing and hide and seek, but boy because I give her a fright she raises her voice a bit like Lunatic Lu and says I’ve frightened her I think it’s the other way around. We are going to the cottage next month and mum says I will love it – Obviously Sammy & Lu have been there loads of time but this will be my first holiday it’s by the sea and I love seaweed (makes me nice and smelly)
Mummy tries to sneak my tablets in a treat for me for worms and other medication when needed – she thinks I don’t know what she’s playing at but I do, Sammy told me to watch out when that little treat goes in front of you called corned beef there’s always something in it that’s meant to make you better. But I’m a good boy SOMETIMES so I always scoff it and then mum tells me I’m a good boy.
Mum says I’m deaf when I want to be, stubbon, greedy and because I fart a lot a stinker but I love these lovely words she calls me cos I know she loves me as it’s me on her lap every night I get there first to have my cwtch and cuddle before my brother and sister start moaning.
Without Friends of the Animals taking the chance to help me out I most probably would already be at the doggie Rainbow Bridge (mummy says I’m not going for years and years and years so I guess I’ll be about 100 years old with a message from the Queen or new King by then).
Friends of the Animals have huge Vet bills and mummy says it must be a struggle to keep paying them – BUT that is where you all come in to the picture I know not everyone wants a dog or cat or indeed any other animals in their lives but we can all help by just supporting financially. Like Tesco say ‘A little goes a long way’ . Eilleen is the lovely lady that takes us all on board and then there are a team of wonderful volunteers like my mummy who helps out to support us in other ways she even lets me sleep on her bed but she positions my bum away from her so the smell (and apparently I stink) that I emit goes away from her (she’s so clever).
So if and when you ever decide that you would like a dog or a cat always RESCUE there are loads out there and even better if you can help one of the old and not very well (Health side) dogs, cats etc or what mummy says is a wonky?? (once again no idea what a wonky is) all the better because mummy says you’ll be helping a beautiful soul like me.

Annie is a c.4 month old Whippet x Bedlington x Patterdale who is being fostered in Crewe, Cheshire. Prospective owners need to research these breeds to see the traits that Annie may display as she gets older. These are an active mix of breeds and intelligent so she needs owners that will put the time into training her and keeping her stimulated to avoid boredom. She is very whippet like after exercise and loves to lounge on her fosterers lap, but before a walk she is very bouncy and into everything so new owners will need to keep her active as she gets lead trained.
People – Annie is a lovely puppy who is sociable with all humans and very happy to interact. She loves human contact and cuddles/grooming. Annie is a bouncy puppy so would suit older children as has sharp puppy teeth. Annie is such a waggy tailed puppy, she bounces on her back legs when you come back home and is always happy to be cuddled.
Dogs – Annie is a typical puppy wanting to play with all dogs. She can be a little over the top initially but does respond to dogs telling her off and is much calmer around the resident dogs now she has settled in. Annie is a puppy full of character and she loves to run and play with the resident dogs. She will curl up with the older ones at night and play games with the younger ones during the day.
Cats – Annie lives with a cat and two parrots and is totally fine
In the home – Annie is an active intelligent mix of breeds so needs continued training in basic puppy commands and socialisation. Annie is left for a couple of hours with no issue. She is an active puppy so would benefit from a home with people there the majority of the day. Annie is a puppy so will chew when left unattended or bored, but given her mix of breeds and age this is something that will decrease as her activity increases. She is a very intelligent puppy and sits when asked.
Out and about – Annie has not been out yet.
Type of home – Annie needs a home with experience of the breed mixes Annie is. She needs a home that is looking for an active dog that will learn quickly and be a loyal member of the family. A family that are home the majority of the day, and are prepared to give Annie time to settle into a new routine with patience when lead training and continuing house training. Tucker is a 6-year old Lhasa Apso who is being fostered in Port Talbot, South Wales. He is an ex-breeding dog whose character is developing nicely in his foster home. When excited he turns circles and “punches” the air with his paws. He loves to cuddle and snuggle. His tongue hangs out of the left side of his mouth as he has no teeth to hold it in.
People – Tucker loves being around people although he does appear to prefer females. Tucker loves cuddles and fuss. He will play on the floor with 5+ children nicely. He has not encountered any younger children as yet.
Dogs – Tucker loves the company of his younger foster brother. He doesn’t seem to bother the older dog. Since being in foster care Tucker has learned to play nicely.
Cats – Tucker doesn’t bother about the cat. When he first came, he would bark but now doesn’t react.
In the home –Tucker has been left with other dogs for up to 2 hours. He has not been left on his own at all. Tucker sleeps in his crate at night and will on occasion take himself into the crate during the day/evening. Tucker is now able to feed close to the other dogs without growling and snarling. He will still growl if the others attempt to approach him while eating. He will allow his foster mum to remove the food and will now wait his turn if having treats. He has settled and improved greatly. Tucker is now comfortable with appliances such as TV, washing machine, dryer etc. He loves feet and will steal your socks from the washing and take to his bed or the garden and hide. He loves positive praise and is keen to please.
Out and about – Tucker has improved greatly in this area and is able to walk nicely on the lead.
Type of home – We think Tucker would be happy where the people are at home mostly. Tucker will need another friendly/playful dog for company. He could live with a cat. He would like having children to cuddle and play with and loves lots of walks on the lead. Tucker would demand a space on the sofa and needs to be loved.

Gina is an 18-month old Bichon Frise who is being fostered in Newport. She is a very affectionate little girl who likes to sleep on the settee besides you. She wags her tail when you come in the room and is starting to respond to her name and will come when called. Gina likes to sleep on the bed with her feet in the air and not just curling in a tight ball. Gina likes to play chase with her foster sister. She is still very nervous but we are sure, with the right family, she will be a very affectionate dog.
People – Gina is still a bit shy and wary. If she comes on your lap she is happy to be touched anywhere. She is still nervous of approaching you and being touched but she does like to lick your hands. She is very happy with the resident children who are around 8 years old
Dogs – Yes she seems sociable with other dogs and her foster brother. She is happy meeting other dogs when she is out on the lead and is happy for them to sniff her and she does the same. She is very close to the resident dog and follows her everywhere. She won’t go in the garden without her and likes to sleep by her/on her.
Cats – Not cat tested
In the home – Gina still needs some toilet training. She has been left for 2 hours at the most and she seems fine when her foster mum comes back. They are left in the kitchen. She likes to chew things like a puppy. She doesn’t like walking past you especially if you are in a doorway. Gina doesn’t like going out in the dark or the rain.
Out and about – She is still a bit nervous on the lead but is quite happy to follow and walk wither foster sister. She does look back at her foster mum for reassurance when out walking and does prefer to walk on grass. Gina doesn’t like having her harness/lead put on but seems to enjoy going for a walk.
Type of home – Gina needs home where the owner is there most of the time. She needs to be with another dog similar size to her. She would be happy around children who would play with her. She needs a home where she can have a lot of love and attention to help flourish. She likes going for walks.

Zara is a 2-year old crossbreed who is being fostered in the Rhondda, South Wales. She just loves to have cuddles on her terms and is trying very hard to be brave with other people. She has come a long way but still has a long way to go.
People – Zara is happy around people if she knows you. She is still fearful of anything new and is very scared of new people. Zara is happy with gentle older children. She is now able to come to be stroked. Grooming is yet to come
Dogs – Zara enjoys being with other dogs and at least one resident dog is a must.

In the home – Zara enjoys curling up on a selection of dog beds and sofas during the day and sleeps upstairs with her doggy family. Zara is learning how to play and loves jumping about chasing toys she throws for herself. She loves to play with the dogs in her foster home and really is getting more confident as the days go on. Zara is OK to be left for up to 3 hours so long as she is with the other dogs.
Out and about – Zara has been car sick previously. She is timid and nervy out walking, a harness is essential. When out walking Zara is timid of other dogs however she enjoys being part of a larger group of accepting dogs.
Type of home – Zara needs a calm home with at least 1 other dog. She needs lots of love and, at times, her own space. She needs a home which will nurture and encourage her and where her people are home most of the time. She has made great strides in the last month and with the right home life we know she will flourish. Zara is gentle and sweet with a fun-loving side. Zara must be homed where there is at least one other dog and that dog must be confident for her to continue to grow her own confidence.

Nutmeg is a 6-year old Pug cross who is being fostered in Rhondda, South Wales. She is an ex-breeding bitch so has had a rough start to life but is now on the mend. She is so excited when her foster family come home, but even more excited when the harness & lead come out. Nutmeg is desperate to find a new home of her own.
People – She is little cautious when meeting strangers, but soon comes around particularly if there are treats (she prefers strong cheddar, but boring dog treats will do). She has met a range of men and women. She enjoys a fuss, loves being brushed. Happy to have all parts of her body touched. She is a little tense when having her teeth checked, but no aggression. She has been tested with older children and seems ok.
Dogs – She has had extensive exposure to dogs of various age, size and breed, on and off lead. Nutmeg has no problems with other dogs, she is confident but not desperate for their company. She is first in the queue when there are treats, more than willing to push in front of the bigger dogs. She hasn’t learnt to play with other dogs yet, but in time she might do because she likes playing with toys.
Cats – Not cat tested
In the home – Nutmeg can be left a couple of hours and on rare occasions 3 or 4 hours without problem. She makes a fuss as her foster mum leaves but soon settles when she realises she isn’t going with her. She sleeps downstairs on her own without fuss, only making a noise if she needs to go outside for a wee. Nutmeg is house trained. She loves chasing/fetching and shaking her toys. She collects toys in her bed, last time she had clean blankets her foster mum took out 12 toys! She loves to cuddle.
Out and about – Nutmeg is well behaved when away from the home, on lead, off lead, at other people’s houses, in coffee shops, in pubs etc. Her foster family loves to watch her off the lead, she does zoomies when she gets out in an open field.
Type of home – Nutmeg needs a home with someone around most of the time. She loves company and going out and about. She enjoys her walks, so someone who will walk her every day. She will accept longer or shorter walks, so huge walks every day aren’t essential. She’s done a 2-hour walk without problem. She does like to be sociable, so finding places which accept dogs when out and about would make her happy – she particularly likes pubs/hotels where dog treats are provided.
A garden would be great as she loves the garden,
sitting in the sun, mooching round or chasing toys thrown for her. Nutmeg
needs a home where they understand her background as a puppy farm girl.
She would be very happy as an only dog. We think she would also be fine with
another dog(s) – but we would be looking for calm, confident, sensible dogs.

Fostered In: Crewe, Cheshire
Mitch is a one-year old Cavalier King Charles cross who is being fostered in Crewe, Cheshire. He has improved so much from the shut down little puppy that joined us some time ago. He loves to play with the other dogs he will play chase with forever. He loves to snuggle up with a cosy blanket.
People – Mitch is still struggling with human touch, he will have a fuss but even his foster mum has to be very gentle when approaching him. He still has a way to go with learning that not all humans are horrid. Mitch seems to prefers women to men. Mitch is currently living with 5-year old dog savvy children but he doesn’t go near them as we think they move to quickly for him. He has never shown any aggression and from a distance he likes to watch them. I think Mitch would do best in a home without resident young children.
Dogs – Mitch is currently living with other dogs. He adores the companionship of the other dogs, especially other cavaliers.
Cats – Mitch is living with cats and shows no interest in chasing them
In the home – Mitch has been left for up to 3 hours and has not been destructive. He is very well behaved at home and has no concerns with being in a crate. Mitch sits by the door and looks for his foster mum if she leaves the room. Mitch loves tea time and will now take food from his foster mum’s hand which he didn’t do when he first arrived. At night his foster mum will say Mitch….Bedtime… and he goes in the crate or climbs on to the dog bed and then he is settled for the night. As he was and can be such a frightened little boy every small step is amazing to see and be a part of.
Out and about – Mitch has started to go for short walks but still very nervous with people, traffic, spooks very easily. Ongoing training will be required in this area.
Type of home – Mitch needs a home with at least one resident, confident but playful dog that will give him confidence but also a play buddy. He needs a home where he won’t be left for long, Mitch needs someone around most of the time. He wouldn’t suit a home where people would be out every day. He needs an adult home or with much older children as we don’t think a home with small children will help him with becoming a confident dog. A home with very patient people that will be patient and respect that he will take a while to get used to them and appreciate that he still has lots of confidence building to do.

Jimmy – 7-year old Cavalier
Name: Jimmy

Jimmy is a 7-year old Cavalier who is being fostered in Cardiff, South Wales. He is looking for a quiet retirement home where he has company for most of the day and at least one other dog to play with.
Health Issues – Jimmy is deaf and has paralysis on right side of face. He only has one fang left as all his other teeth have been removed. Jimmy has a grade 2/3 heart murmur. He is prone to ear infections and is on Surolan antibiotic and Epiotic cleaning fluid. His ears will need regular cleaning to prevent recurrence.
People – Jimmy is great around adults and indifferent to children. He gets irritated when having his ears cleaned but not aggressive.
Dogs – Jimmy has been really good with every other dog he has met and we will only rehome him where there is at least one other dog for company.
Cats – He hasn’t been in contact with any cats or small animals
In the home – Jimmy will require continued toilet training although he has improved a great deal and there is just the odd accident ever now and then. He has only been left for an hour at a time and does get a bit uncomfortable – he pulls his bedding out and he will scratch at doors if they are shut and he is on own. Jimmy likes to eat any food available so needs to be monitored during feeding times so he doesn’t put on weight!
Out and about – He is fine walking on lead when with other dogs also fine off lead when with them. When out on his own he will stop and start needs encouragement to move forward but short, regular walks are important to keep him in top shape.
Type of home – He needs a doggy companion and someone who will be with him most of the time and give lots of cuddles and a secure, safe place for his retirement. He would prefer his humans to be around for most of the day as he isn’t keen on being left. Jimmy is happy to live with children but hasn’t been cat tested.

People – Flo loves people. She isn’t good with young children as they startle her, but lovely with older children and adults. Flo is happy to be groomed and touched.
Dogs – Flo is comfortable with dogs and likes to introduce herself to other dogs when out walking. She will need to have a doggy companion in her new home.

In the home – Flo enjoys plenty of cuddles. She loves to play chase, is fully housetrained in her foster home and can be left for a few hours. She has been known to chew up a few of her toys but nothing more than this. She will bark at noises from children outside the house but is happy in the company of older children. She loves belly rubs and sleeps on her foster mum’s bed at night and is happy in a crate when the door is left open.
Out and about – Flo loves her walks and her recall is good as she knows and trusts her foster family. She is fine in the car but has only needed to go on short journeys so far.
Type of home – Flo is looking for a home where her humans are home for either a morning or an afternoon. She would be suitable for someone who only works part of the day. A family where any children in the house are older and who are happy to let her up on the sofa for cuddles. Someone who is willing to continue with the training and socialisation she is receiving in her foster home. As an ex-breeding girl she may have accidents in her new home until she gets used to a different routine.

Eliza is a 3-year old Pomeranian who is being fostered in RCT South Wales. Eliza makes a big fuss and gets excited when you return after going out. She loves to get on the settee or bed and roll on her back with her legs in the air. She sits on her hind legs and wave her front paws at you which is very cute!
People – Eliza is fine with adults once she gets to know them but is nervous around new people. She does not live with children at the moment but should be ok with older, sensible children. Eliza loves to be cuddled and fussed.
Dogs – When she first came in to foster she was reactive with the resident dogs. Over time she has improved with the smaller dogs but is still wary of larger breeds. Eliza will only be rehomed where there is another small dog in residence.
Cats – Eliza tends to ignore cats
In the home – Eliza can be left for up to 3 hours with no issues. Eliza sleeps in a crate at night in the bedroom and is very good with no disturbances. Eliza is house trained. She loves to sit by you, and was absolutely fascinated by the telly for a while but she seems to have got used to it now.
Out and about – Eliza is new to walking on a lead and is very nervous. She tends to shy away from any people she meets. Eliza does not travel very well in the car and does suffer from car sickness.
Type of home – Eliza needs a quiet home with someone around a good part of the day. Eliza will need to be with someone experienced with dogs. Patience will be needed to allow Eliza to develop in her own time. We think she should be with another small dog of a similar age.
