Three-year old Jelly Beans is a confident, happy and affectionate Pug, who is being fostered in South Wales. She loves cuddles and enjoys the company of older, sensible children.

People – Jelly loves all humans, she is a very friendly girl who enjoys meeting new people. She is happy to be bathed and groomed and is a real cuddle monster. Jelly is great around children and loves to play and sit on their laps. She may be a little boisterous for younger children but has a very loving,  kind nature, however, may lick her humans to death.

Dogs – Jelly is fine with other dogs and loves to run around, play and snuggle up next to them. Jelly needs another active, young dog for company. On walks Jelly gets excited when she sees people and dogs and in safe spaces can be left off the lead to run around and play.

Cats –     Jelly happily lives with 2 dog savvy cats in her foster home.

In the home – Jelly is housetrained and will toilet on walks and in the garden. Jelly gets anxious and barks if apart from the humans at night so sleeps in the bedroom, sometimes on her own bed or when foster mum is sleeping sneaks up onto the human bed

Out and about – Jelly is wonderful company on walks, she has boundless energy and must be walked at least an hour a day. Jelly travels well in the car and gets very noisy and excited until the car starts moving. Jelly travels strapped in but could probably do with a crate to travel in as she gets very excited and will race around the car if given the opportunity.  She is very well behaved at the vets and loves to socialise with the other dogs and people in the waiting room

Type of home – Jelly needs a very active home with people who will walk with her regularly and find lots of time for cuddles. Jelly can be left up to 5 hours with another dog for company, she initially gets anxious when her humans go out but soon settles down.

Jelly Beans is neutered, chipped, vaccinated and up to date with her flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet her in her foster home in South Wales

ADOPTED Katy

Name: Katy

Age: 7

Breed: Cairn Terrier

Can I live with children: Older – 8 plus

Can I live with cats: Not tested

Can I live with other dogs: Yes

Fostered In: South Wales

Katy is a loving little dog who is happy to cuddle up with us. She likes to be fussed and is happy to be groomed. She is a little timid but has improved greatly over past weeks. She will make a lovely companion for another dog and she is getting better with her recall. She will be greatly missed when she goes to her forever home.

People – . She is still nervous of people she doesn’t know, but she’s happy being fussed and groomed. She is happy with our grandchildren, the youngest being 8. Not sure how she would be with toddlers. Sudden noises make her jump and wary.

Dogs – She is fine with our dogs and is well behave a the vet, but haven’t tried her on walks yet.. She would definitely benefit from living with another dog.

Cats – Not tested

In the home – Katy loves to snuggle up with us on the sofa, I think she feels the sofa is her safe place. She sleeps in the kitchen with our 3 dogs; usually cwtched up to one of them. She doesn’t use or need a crate. She has a good appetite and eats well, she is nervous when eating, she seems to worry another dog will steal her food. She has improved on this issue recently. She is housetrained but does have the occasional mishap. She has not played with toys yet and she’s not food aggressive. We can leave her for a few hours without any problem.

Out and about – She is fine at the vets, they think she’s wonderful.

Type of home – I would recommend a home that has another dog/dogs.

Katy is neutered, fully vaccinated and microchipped. She is also up to date with flea and worming treatment.

Any potential adopters would be expected to travel to South Wales to meet Katy.

Name: Ellie Age: 3 years old

Breed: Bichon Frise

Can I live with Children: Over 10s only

Can I live with cats: Yes

Can I live with other dogs: Yes, a must

Fostered In: RCT, South Walles

Ellie is a 3-year old Bichon Frise who is being fostered in RCT, South Wales. She is a loving girl who enjoys cuddles but is still quite wary of men. She does calm down but on the initial meet will bark. Ellie loves dinner and will spin, run and jump when she realises food is about to be served. She mastered the game of hide and seek and initiates play with her foster mum. Ellie needs an experienced home who will help her move forward at her own pace, at the moment she is picky who she interacts with and can freeze when handled so patience and time is very important for Ellie. She hasn’t needed to be crated while in foster and has been left for up to four hours without any issues.

Once Ellie loves you, she loves you and is generous with kisses…you will never need to wash your face again.

Health wise, she has a clicky hip, which will need to be monitored but currently this doesn’t give her any problems.

People – Ellie is still a little wary of people apart from foster mum. She will back away from new people but then will follow the other dogs to approach then run away again. She likes to be stroked if you are sitting down next to her but she will not approach if we are standing up. Ellie does not like to be groomed apart from a few strokes of a soft brush.

Dogs – Ellie lives with two other dogs and greets dogs well when out on walks.

Cats – Ellie lives with a cat in her foster home without an issue.

Out and about – Ellie loves going out on her daily walks and will happily meet other dogs but is wary of new people. She knows her way home and will charge once she gets to a certain point. She is nervous in the car but soon settles. Poor Ellie isn’t keen on the vets and will freeze and shake while being examined. Her adopters will have to work with confidence building.

Type of home – Ellie would need someone home for most of the day and would need a dog or dogs of similar or small size for company; she is under 6 kilos. She’s a young dog with lots of energy who is going to love her walks. Children of 10 and over due to her small size so not to be treated as a toy. A household that will not restrict her and give her the run of the house as she likes to follow her caregiver everywhere. House training has improved greatly since Ellie has been in foster and she is getting there, this is something that is very much a work in progress with the help of puppy pads.

Ellie is neutered, chipped, vaccinated and up to date with her flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet her in her foster home in South Wales.

Mango – Forever home found
Mango1
previous arrow
next arrow

Mango was one of three brothers who came into the Rescue.  Unfortunately they acted like typical teenagers and decided they didn’t like each other!  Mango is the quiet one and loves nothing more than a cuddle and some human attention.  Possibly due to him being bullied by his brothers when he was younger, he hasn’t been that keen on other rabbits.  However, he did eventually bond with a lady bun who unfortunately passed a few months ago – so he is definitely open to bunny love.

His favourite pastimes are eating and playing with his ball and toys. He loves his teddy bear who has taken the place of his dearly departed Daisy.

Mango has been exposed to E-cuniculi – he has been treated and has exhibited no symptoms.  If you know your rabbit is a carrier, he would be the perfect companion.

E cuniculi is a tiny parasite that affects rabbits along with a small range of other species.  Studies have shown that over 50% of healthy rabbits in the UK carry the parasite with only a small proportion ever showing any illness.  Even if symptoms do appear, they are treatable with the rabbit living a full and happy life.

Our Mango is a bit of a star – you might recognize him from being our pin up boy in the FOAW calendar this year! He is Mr March 2020!

If you and your lady bun think you can give this special boy his perfect forever home with plenty of cuddles, please fill in the adoption link: Adoption Form

Rupert – Forever Home found
Rupert6

And here is the magnificent Rupert! Rupert is a Continental Giant who is 14 months old and currently weighs 6.3 kgs.  Foster Mum describes him as a big bundle of soft love!  He seriously loves a cuddle – every evening he can be found laying on the sofa with his head tucked under Foster Mum’s arm or chin.

He’s a real gentle giant but it’s possible that he could grow to 8 kgs so, as well as needing a sizeable lady (bun friend, not human – they can be any size!), he will need a huge amount of space…. Preferably including sofas!

Foster Mum has totally fallen for our Rupert – as does everyone who meets him – but she knows that he needs a wife bun and a forever home to complete his life.  We always say that each animal takes a bit of their fosterer’s heart with them when they find their forever home – luckily fosterers have naturally huge and expandable hearts – but Rupert is going to take a humongous lump!

Rupert is neutered and is up to date with his vaccinations.  And although Foster Mum is loath to admit it, he is ready and waiting to find his perfect lady bun and forever home.

If you and your lady bun think you can give this big boy his perfect forever home, please fill in the adoption link below: Adoption Form

We’re putting money on that Roxie will be the softest rabbit you have ever touched and possibly the most beautiful you’ve seen.

Foster Mum says she is a real sweetheart.  If you sit down with her, she loves to climb all over you. She will ask for pats but is still unsure if there is an arm coming to pick her up. She loves food, particularly her hay, and is a good litter box user. She also loves to be on top of her houses and is often found sleeping on top of them.

Roxie is very inquisitive about the world around her and she so deserves a friend to do her exploring with in her perfect forever home.  She is spayed and her vaccinations are all up to date.

Cherry & Valerie – Forever home found
Cherry & Valerie2

next arrow

Our Cherry is a very friendly and cheeky little fella. He keeps Foster Mum on her toes with his antics – if there’s an opportunity to jump on the roof of his hutch and make a bid for freedom in the garden, he takes it! He is very people friendly and is just basically adorable.

A local Vet took Valerie in as a stray and asked us to take her after no owner came forward. She was quite aggressive when she first came in, but calmed down a little once she was spayed.  Foster Mum was quite nervous about trying to bond her with another rabbit but, luckily for her, Valerie had her sights set on the easy going Cherry and one night dug her way into his run and they bonded themselves! To be fair, our gorgeous boy didn’t stand a chance… he had been ‘cherrypicked’ by one very determined lady!

Six months on and, with the influence of an easy going BFF Cherry and a very patient and loving Foster Mum, Valerie has settled down even more. She’s comfortable to be stroked and is happy to be hand fed. If there’s food on offer, she’ll run around feet enthusiastically! With the time, love and patience of her very own human in her forever home, Foster Mum is certain Valerie will continue to get more calm and friendly.

They are both coming up to two years old, fully vaccinated, neutered/spayed and healthy.

Take a look at this fabulous bonded pair!

Tiger is 2 years old.  He’s very special to us here at FOAW as his mum was surrendered to us while she was carrying him so we knew him from the very beginning.  He did go to a new home with his brother, but sadly his brother kept bullying him so Tiger came back to us.

We are so delighted therefore that he has found love with a beautiful girl bun.  Noirsette came into us as a stray who we think is about a year old.  They are like an old married couple and Tiger adores her, spending a great deal of his time grooming her.

They live outside and need lots of space as they love zooming around and binkying.  They both love their food and are great hay eaters.

Tiger and Noirsette are fully vaccinated, neutered/ spayed and healthy.

Name: Ziggy

Age: 2 years old

Breed: Bichon cross Collie

Can I live with Children: Yes, older

Can I live with cats: Not tested

Can I live with other dogs: Will only be rehomed with another dog

Fostered In: Swansea, South Wales

Ziggy is a 2-year old Bichon cross Collie boy who is being fostered in South Wales. Ziggy is a very loving little man who loves to cuddle on your lap for a tickle and a snooze. He loves a walk and has decided that treats are a real good thing. He is currently in foster in a home with 2 other fosters and 3 family dogs all of different breeds and sizes and he is settling within the pack well.

People – Ziggy was initially nervous of foster dad but with a little patience he was soon sitting on his lap for tummy tickles. He has reacted in the same nervous way with other men he has met on walks or in the house but once he realises that there is no threat he calms down. When nervous he cries and barks a little and hides in his crate until he feels reassured. He has been wonderful with the 9-year old child in the house and is very calm and attached to him.

Dogs –  Ziggy is settling in well in his foster home and loves playing with his foster family. He has never been in a home without dogs before and with this in mind, he will need a four legged play mate in his new home.

Cats – Not cat tested

In the home – Ziggy spends a lot of his time in the safety of his crate with the door open but each day he is coming out more and more. He hasn’t had any accidents in the house at all, he loves a good rummage around the garden and a good bush to lay under. He has been left for 5 hours and has been fine – thanks to the doggy cam! He isn’t sure what to do with toys yet but this will come in time. He hasn’t been destructive at all, the only thing he mouths is his lead and his human slave’s hand when fuss comes to an end.

Out and about – Ziggy travels well in the car after a short calm down period, progress is made with every car journey. Like most dogs he isn’t overjoyed going to the vets but says hello to the other dogs and is relatively calm. He will need further training while out on a lead but this does improve daily. He is still a little nervous when on walks with traffic and loud noises.

Type of home – Ziggy needs time patience and lots of love, he is very clever and proving that with a calm firm loving hand he can and is learning quickly. He is good with children but don’t think he would do well with a lot of noise and commotion. So far he has been better with female dogs rather than male but that could all change now that he has been neutered. He will need a home/family that could continue with training and maybe a class for training and socialisation. He has a massive amount of love to give and desperately needs someone to love him back

Ziggy is neutered, chipped, vaccinated and up to date with his flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet him in his foster home in Swansea, South Wales.

Name: Taz Age: 8 months old

Breed: Terrier cross

Can I live with Children: Older

Can I live with cats: Yes

Can I live with other dogs: Yes

Fostered In: Crewe, Cheshire

Taz is an 8-month old Terrier cross who is being fostered in Crewe, Cheshire. He is a very active young boy who is looking for an active family to take him on adventures. He is full of fun but also loves cuddles and will be a loyal companion to his new family.

People – Taz loves people and is always full of beans to meet people, go on walks or to play. Taz is a young active dog that needs to learn boundaries and also get into a home routine as he has had a lot of disruption in his young life prior to coming into rescue so a home with older children would suit him, or an adult only home

Dogs – Taz loves other dogs, he is a terrier mix so will play quite rough when excited so would need a calmer older dog or a tolerant dog that will teach him how to play with control. Taz lives with a range of breeds and sizes of dogs and gets on with all of them. Taz is currently too young to be neutered so this will need to be done when he is old enough.

Cats – Taz lives with a cat and parrots currently and initially barked at the cat but now ignores him. A dog savvy cat would be fine to live with Taz.

In the home – Taz currently is learning to be house trained, any home should expect a few accidents while he settles and gets into a routine in his new home. Taz likes human company and as he has had a lot of change recently is understandably clingy currently so he sleeps on his fosterers bed and is not left for long as he doesn’t like being left.

Once Taz develops confidence in his routine and gets used to his new owners this will settle but any new home needs to be prepared to work with Taz on this and understand that he will need patience to get him into a routine where he is happy being left for longer periods.

Taz loves toys – he is a typical terrier that will rag toys and loves de-squeaking toys for fun. Out and about – Taz is very loyal dog who is great off lead and walks well on a lead, Taz travels well in the car but will currently cry if you leave the car until you come back, Taz is very well behaved at the vets.

Type of home – Taz needs a home that is looking for an active, cheeky dog and with a family that are willing to work with him to get used to being left and realise that his family will always come back for him so he doesn’t need to worry.

Taz has had a lot of upheaval in his short life so is understandably clingy to people currently. He would need a family with someone home the majority of the day and needs an active family that will take him on adventures as he loves to be out and exploring. Taz would love to have children to play with in the home but also needs to learn boundaries and needs to have space in the home to have calm moments so older children that will understand the need for Taz to have calmer moments would be ideal.

Taz would suit a family with or without existing pets. Taz is a lovely little boy who really loves life and deserves a family that will give him lots of stimulation and fun things to do

Taz is chipped, vaccinated and up to date with his flea and worming treatment. He is too young to be neutered so will be adopted with a neutering contract and a discount voucher will be available. Follow up checks will be done. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet him in his foster home in Crewe Cheshire

Pineapple is one of three brothers who came into the rescue when they were eight weeks old.  Unfortunately they really don’t get on, even after they were neutered and their hormones calmed down!

Pineapple had been successfully bonded with his bunwife but, very sadly for our gorgeous boy, she passed to the rainbow bridge at the end of last year.  He was such a good husbun to her and now needs to find another lady bun to spend his life with.

He is an absolute charmer – he loves humans and is a very social and gentle boy.  He is full of life and greets everyone with a hop and a nudge, just to make sure he has got your attention.  He is a bit of a TV addict and loves nothing more than relaxing watching Animal Hospital and seeing his relatives!

Pineapple eats the perfect rabbit diet, absolutely loving hay.  He is fully vaccinated and neutered; he’s about eight months old.

Please say hello to Reuben the Rabbit!  This gorgeous boy is a real sweetheart and all he wants to do is cuddle – not your typical boy rabbit!  In fact he often comes over demanding attention, putting his head under your hand and even getting up on the sofa for, you’ve guessed it, cuddles.  He’s not always the best to be picked up – places to be and things to do – unless he knows he’s coming up specifically for cuddling, so he needs someone who is confident handling and picking up bunnies.

He’s litter trained and doesn’t chew anything he’s not supposed too.  He’s so good that every evening he has free range of Foster Mum’s house and there have been no incidents or accidents to date!  We think he’s trying to prove he’d be ideal to be a free range house bunny!  He isn’t scared of Foster Mum’s dogs or cat – in fact he has been known to nick the dog’s bed for himself!

This little character was found wandering around Caerphilly on his own so we’re not sure of his age – although he certainly doesn’t look and act very old.  He has been neutered and is up to date with his vaccinations.

If you and your lady bun think you can give this perfect boy his perfect forever home with plenty of cuddles, please fill in the adoption link below:

Name: Buddy

Age: 7 months old

Breed: Cavalier cross

Can I live with Children: Yes

Can I live with cats: Not tested

Can I live with other dogs: Yes

Fostered In: RCT, South Wales

Buddy is a 7-month old Cavalier cross who is being fostered in RCT, South Wales. He is a playful and loving puppy who adores cuddles and is quick to adapt to new situations. He is cheeky and everything is a game to him. He will require further training in all areas and someone who is home for a lot of the day to do that.

People – Buddy loves people once he has been introduced to them.  He may bark and back away from strangers, but once he has been introduced to them gently, he is fine and very friendly. He is fine when meeting the visiting grandchildren in his foster home; cuddling up to them and falling asleep being stroked.

Dogs – Buddy loves being with other dogs and is learning a lot from them and gaining in confidence.  He would be happier if rehomed with another dog.

Cats – Not cat tested

In the home – Buddy is quick to learn rules.  He is not totally housetrained; we have a few accidents. Generally he is learning from the other dogs and goes out to the garden for toilet which he gets praised for.  He will use puppy pads if they are put in his favourite wee spot.  Buddy is crate trained and sleeps in an open crate during the day and takes himself off for bed at night-time and the door is closed. He does like a routine.  Buddy has not shown any destructive behaviour, he will pick up things like tissues or pegs but has not tried to destroy any belongings or furniture.  Buddy loves his toys but is not possessive of them at all, if another dog takes it off him he lets them but if he pinches a toy off another dog (they let him) he looks so pleased with himself!  Buddy has not yet been left for any length of time so this will need to be built up gradually in his new home.

Out and about – Buddy loves going for walks, everything is a new adventure for him and he can’t wait to explore the whole world.  He needs a secure harness and possibly a collar lead also as it is unknown how he will react to an unfamiliar situation and he may squirm out of a collar or harness.  Buddy travels quite well in the car but does need to be restrained/crated to stop him from wandering.  Buddy loves going to the vets and meeting everyone there. We feel that Buddy would benefit in confidence to go to puppy classes and any potential home will need to demonstrate they have researched classes in their area

Type of home – Buddy would thrive in an active family home where he will have a lot of social interaction with people, other dogs, toys and someone to play with him and give him lots of cuddles.  He is a very active and friendly dog and will need a lot of exercise and play and cuddle times.  He also needs a home with a routine and consistent rules so he does not get confused.  He will need to continue his training that the whole family are involved in.  He needs consistent boundaries that the whole family will keep to.

Buddy is neutered, chipped, vaccinated and up to date with his flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet him in his foster home in RCT, South Wales.

Name: Bert

Age: 8 months old

Breed: British Bulldog

Can I live with Children: Older children

Can I live with cats: Yes

Can I live with other dogs: In the future, after training

Fostered In: Crewe, Cheshire

Meet Bert our 8-month old British Bulldog who is being fostered in Crewe, Cheshire. Bert is a full of life bulldog, who is a loveable thug. He suffered a broken leg that required surgery prior to coming into rescue and has spent over 3 months recovering at the vets so is now ready to find a forever home and is enjoying the puppy hood he never had. Bert is a fun-loving dog who is always pleased to see you, loves playing with toys, stealing socks and generally being a young boisterous bull breed – he is a dog that makes you laugh everyday

People – Bert loves people and is always happy to see them. He can be boisterous and has no idea of his size so for this reason a home with older children would suit Bert as he will bowl into things when playing and is quite clumsy sometimes so older children would be best

Dogs – Bert is great with all dogs- he has no awareness of his size and can be bouncy around dogs smaller than him, but is just playful not aggressive in any way. Bert does not read other dogs body language and any new owner would need to be aware that even though Bert would love another dog to pieces, they may not feel the same. Bert has only recently been neutered so his over excitement will settle, but with this in mind he will be re homed as an only dog.

Cats – Bert lives with a cat and two parrots and ignores the parrots totally. He does try and play with the cat and doesn’t read signals very well so would need a home with no cats, or a home with a confident cat to teach him cats are not for playing with

In the home – Bert is housetrained and crate trained. He sleeps in the kitchen and is quite all night. The reason the foster home does this is Bert cannot distinguish between dog toys and human furniture. Bert is good with being left and may suitable for part time workers if they committed to a good walk before leaving him

Out and about – Bert likes going for walks, he is just quite unfit currently so we are building up his daily walks in length so he improves his fitness. Bert travels well in the car

Type of home – Bert is very large bulldog and is a very energetic dog who needs a home that will be prepared to put in the time continuing his basic training, ideally owners that are bull breed experienced.. Bert needs a family that have researched the breed and understand the issues this type of dog could have. Bert is a typical young bull breed and needs owners that understand the breed and are not just looking for a popular breed of dog.

Bert needs a family that have people at home majority of the day and needs owners that will be patient with him while he settles in . He will trash your home jumping on sofa’s and generally making a mess, if not supervised. Bert is full of fun he is a loveable thug and will make someone a lovely loyal pet

Bert is neutered, chipped, vaccinated and up to date with his flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet him in his foster home in Crewe, Cheshire.
