DORA HAS BEEN ADOPTED

D2020-054

Name: Dora

Age: 6 years old

Breed: Cocker spaniel

Fostered in: South Wales

Health Conditions: Dora has no known health issues.

NORA WILL NEED TO BE REHOMED WITH AT LEAST ONE RESIDENT DOG

Dora is a lovely gentle soul who likes nothing better than the simple things in life, a comfortable bed, bowl of food and someone to love. She really is adorable. She has typical spaniel traits – nose down sniffing, never walks in a straight line and really loves to please. She is keen on treats and quick to learn so someone who can put time into training and outside activities would be ideal for Dora.

People: Dora is a bit nervous around people when she first meets them, particularly men. However, if you are quiet and let her come to you, she will allow you to touch her. With foster mum she looks for attention and seeks touch. As she becomes familiar with people, she will wag her tail with pleasure and excitement. She has started to seek touch and likes her chin and tummy tickled. She loves a bath and will stand still for you to groom her.

Can live with children: Dora would be ok with older children (over 8) who would respect that she needs time to get to know someone. She is curious but nervous around busy children.

Can live with cats: Not tested.

Can live with other dogs: Dora has shown little interest in other dogs in the house unless they have something she wants when she will try and take it from them. Dora will need to learn some manners and has a tendency to guard things. However, she also has gained great confidence in the outside world by following the other dog and walks well on the lead with him with no issues.

In the home: Dora is house trained and will now go to the toilet on command. She is quite relaxed in the house but likes to be where foster mum is. She sleeps in her own bed in the bedroom.
Dora has had some issues with guarding her bed, toys, and the sofa. A firm but calm approach has worked so far in terms of correcting this behaviour. She knows ‘ in your bed’ and will go in there when asked too which is how we have redirected the guarding of resources. She can be left for about an hour in the crate with a Kong toy to occupy her without issue. Any longer than she currently starts to get incredibly stressed and howls. Dora loves the garden and will spend all day outside if she can.

Out and about: Dora had travelled in a crate in the back of the car. She has taken a little time to get used to the motion of travel but has not been unwell. Dora has started to enjoy going for a walk and is getting more confidence walking on lead. She uses a collar and harness. The vets have all said she is a darling as I think she just allows them to go whatever.

Type of home: Dora needs a home that understands a spaniel and is willing to continue developing her training and need to be outside. Dora also requires a home where someone is at home for most of the day as she loves to be with someone. I have not seen a particular bond with my dog but she has certainly learnt to be a calm and picks up on his body language and behaviour around things. She would benefit from living in a home with at least one other well balanced dog to help her reach her true potential as a companion and learn to be a dog.

Dora is neutered and up to date with flea and worming treatment. She is currently awaiting second vaccination.

Due to Covid19 lock down restrictions, we are only accepting local re homing applications.

Reference no – D2020-053

Name: Honora – Nora

Age: 4 years old

Breed: Breed

Fostered in: South Wales

NORA WILL NEED TO BE REHOMED WITH AT LEAST ONE RESIDENT DOG

Health Conditions: None

People: Honora is quite hand shy, but she is also good natured, compliant and will allow you to pick her up when needed. Once on your lap she will settle and allows her foster mum clean her ears and eyes and give her a little brush. She is a bit wary but gentle reassuring tones help her to settle and sometimes she will relax and stay on my lap for a little snooze. Due to lockdown she has only had contact with her foster Mum and Dad. She is more bonded with her foster Mum but her tail is starting to wag when she sees her foster Dad too.

Can live with Children: She has not been tested with children but she is still timid especially with quick movements so it would be best for her to be in an adult only home or with older children who would respect her limitations.

Can live with cats: Not tested but her disposition suggests it might be possible.

Can live with other dogs: Honora is currently living with five other dogs two of which are also cavaliers. She is fine with all of them and sleeps with another ex-puppy farm girl cuddled up together in a dog bed. She has a playful side that we are just starting to see she tries to engage in play, but she needs a more confident dog to help show her the way.

In the home: Honora is housetrained and not destructive. She sleeps in the living room in a large playpen with one or two of the other dogs. She does not show interest in toys yet. Honora has nit shown any food aggression and she likes small treats and will take them from your hand albeit very cautiously.

Out and About: Honora has only just had her second vaccination however she needs to gain a little more confidence before lead training can commence. She was extremely nervous at the vets but did allow them to examine her.

Type of home: Honora needs a home with at least one resident dog, she will need a dog that’s well-adjusted friendly dog that will engage with her and teach her how to enjoy life free from the constraints of the puppy farm. She really is a wonderful sweet girl who is already making progress and just needs someone to work slowly with her and another dog to take care of her and give her the confidence she currently lacks.

Is fully vaccinated and up to date with her flea and worming treatment, she is currently awaiting neutering.

Due to Covid19 lock down restrictions, we are only accepting local re homing applications.

I come with five weeks free Agria Pet Insurance

Potential adopters will be expected to travel to South Wales to meet her.

Reference No –D2020-036

Name: Charlie

Age: 6 years old

Breed: Shih – Tzu

Fostered in: South Wales

Health Issues: Charlie has a left leg luxating patella, currently awaiting x rays.

CHARLIE WILL NEED TO BE REHOMED WITH AT LEAST ONE RESIDENT DOG

Charlie is a ridiculously cute, independent little dog. He has not had a great life so far and needs lots of love and patience to help him settle and learn to be a happy confident boy, routine is especially important to Charlie to keep him a happy boy. Charlie loves to sit on the sofa at night with his foster mum and watch TV, he will also go into his crate of his own accord. He is starting to learn to enjoy life and is starting to run around and wag his tail when out in the garden playing with his foster friends. He has not shown any bad habits at all, just a bit fearful which he is starting to overcome as he learns to trust.

People: Charlie hasn’t been used to human contact so people can be scary for him. He is now enjoying the company of his foster family, but Charlie needs time and patience, potential adopters must take this into consideration.

Can live with children: Not tested due to lockdown, Charlie likes a peaceful time so probably not ideally suited to living in a home with active children.

Can live with cats: Not tested.

Can live with other dogs: Charlie has not yet been out for a walk and will need lead training. He gets on fine with all the dogs in his foster home and is learning from them all the time.

In the home: Charlie is housetrained and sleeps well through the night in an open crate. Charlie is not destructive and has no interest in toys, we hope this will change in time. He knows when it is food time and has recently started barking, telling his foster mum when he wants dinner. Charlie has not been left alone in his foster home, but he is a very independent chap and would very happily just snuggle up somewhere and not notice you weren’t there.

Out and about: Charlie has not been on walks yet as he is awaiting his vaccinations, he will need lead training. He travels well in the car, he sits happily on the back seat, strapped in with his harness.

Type of home: Charlie would thrive in a quiet home with people who have patience and time. Charlie will need at least one resident dog in his new home that will teach him the ropes and whom he can learn from.

Charlie is up to date with his flea and worming treatment, due to restrictions within our vets he is awaiting second vaccination and neutering.

Due to Covid19 lock down restrictions, we are only accepting local re homing applications.

SUMMER HAS BEEN ADOPTED

Reference No – D2020-033

Name: Summer

Age: 10 months old

Breed: Jack Russel Terrier cross

Fostered in: South Wales

Health Issues: None known

WILL NEED TO BE RE-HOMED WITH AT LEAST ONE RESIDENT DOG.

Summer is a beautiful, loving, energetic little girl. She loves to play with the other dogs in her foster home, she enjoys cuddles, tummy rubs and toys. Her party piece is her ability to smile and grin.

People: Summer absolutely loves everyone she meets and really enjoys being stroked and groomed.

Can live with children: Summer currently lives in a house with a very dog savvy 9-year-old. She is very playful and still a little jumpy with excitement. She does still mouth a little when playing but is learning not too.

Can live with cats: Not cat tested but is inquisitive of the rabbit in her foster home but not aggressive towards her.

Can live with other dogs: Summer loves to greet every dog she meets out on walks and wants to play with them immediately. She is great friend with her 2-year-old GSD foster brother. They sleep together, play together, chase each other in circles. Summers love of dogs means we would like to her be rehomed with another dog that will play with her.

In the home: Summer is particularly good in the house; she is housetrained but will use a puppy pad at night. She sleeps either on the landing with other dogs or in a crate. Summer is amazingly comfortable in a crate. Being a typical Terrier, Summer enjoys demolishing her toys given the chance. Summer eats her food in a crate away from the other dogs as she is much slower than them, she has not shown any food aggression. Summer has only been left with another dog as company and seems fine to be left for short periods of time.

Out and about: Summer loves to go for walks, especially on the beach or in the woods. She had not had any training before she came into rescue, her foster family have started lead training, but this will need to be on going and potential adopters must take this into consideration. Summer travels well in the car and is fine at the vets

Type of home: Summer needs a family that will be able to cater to her physical and mental needs. She is a young active dog that requires daily walks but also requires mental stimulation. She would greatly benefit from socialisation/training classes and possibly scent or agility when she is a little older. She also demands a warm cosy lap to snuggle on and lots of loves and cuddles.

Due to Covid19 lock down restrictions, we are only accepting local re homing applications.

I come with five weeks free Agria Pet Insurance.

Summer is up to date with her flea and worming treatment. She is fully vaccinated and neutered.

MARLEY HAS BEEN ADOPTED

Reference no – D2020-039

Name: Marley

Age: 2 years old

Breed: Beagle cross Lab

Fostered in: South Wales

Health Issues: None known

Marley is a very loving, cuddly but strong and active dog. He benefits from plenty of obedience training to improve his focus on his handler. Marley has lots of energy and enjoys a run around the fields. He is typical beagle and loves to follow scents, he will have his nose to the ground for an entire walk if he could but a bit of focus training along the way really helps him. Marley loves to snuggle up for a cuddle and loves being stroked and brushed.

People: Can be a bit nervous/unsure at first but then he loves everyone. Once he knows you, he loves being cuddled, brushed.

Can live with children: Not tested. Marley is strong and boisterous though and could easily knock smaller children over.

Can live with Cats: Not tested but he will try to chase a cat if he sees one whilst out.

Can live with other dogs: Marley gets on well with all the other dogs in his foster home and is fine with most dogs he sees when out on walks. He has not actually met any dogs whilst out yet. Whilst Marley likes the dogs in his foster home, he would be happy to be an only dog as long as he has plenty of human contact and is kept busy.

In the home: Marley is house trained and has his food and sleeps in a crate at night. Marley is very active both mentally and physically, so gets bored easily. He can be destructive (chewing things, emptying bins) if bored so needs to be kept mentally stimulated. He loves toys and is not aggressive with them and will happily sharer with the other dogs. Marley also needs lots of obedience training. He has only been fed in his crate currently but does not appear to be food aggressive. Marley has not been left yet, apart from overnight when he sleeps happily and quietly in his crate.

Out and about: Marley is doing well with his recall training which will need to be continued. He loves his walks but can easily be distracted if he sees another dog. He has only travelled in the car to visits to the vets and is fine in the car. He is fine in the vets but very wary being handed over, so a slip lead or half choke collar should be used to avoid him escaping.

Marley is up to date with flea and worming treatment, due to lock down restrictions he is awaiting second vaccination and neutering.

WILL NEED TO BE REHOMED TOGETHER.

Name: Jack & Digby

Age: Yorkshire Terrier cross and Shih Tzu

Breed: 3 and 5 years old.

Fostered in:  South Wales

Health Issues: Digby needs a grain free diet due to itchy skin.

Jack and Digby are a bonded pair who must be rehomed together. They have both settled well into their foster home and are delightful. Jack is the more active of the pair and a little more confident where as Digby is quieter but complement each other perfectly.

People: They both love cuddles, fuss and being brushed. Both dogs are easy to handle and the perfect house guests.

Can live with children: Not tested

Can live with cats: No

Can live with other dogs: Both dogs need to be rehomed together, carful introductions with other dogs are needed. This will need to be done once lock down restrictions are lifted.

In the home: After some initial nervousness they both happily go out for toilets. They sleep in kitchen/hall’ they have a bed each but invariably sleep together all night with no issues. The absolutely love their food and are twice a day with no issues such as aggression. They are just beginning to play with their toys, preferring a game of tug of war with each other. On the rare occasions I have been out there hasn’t been any issues while they are left alone.

Out and about: Walking on the lead is a work in progress as they haven’t been able to go outside as much as we would like to assess them properly. They have reacted nervously to people and other animals but easily reassured, this is something that will need to be worked on and taken into consideration before applying to adopt them.

Type of home: Their favourite place is one each side of their foster mum on the sofa, Jack regularly creeps onto her lap and plays havoc with her knitting! They are no trouble and have slipped into our routine easily. Both dogs are easy to look after and extremely affectionate.

Potential adopters would be expected to travel to South Wales to meet them.

MORAG HAS BEEN ADOPTED

Name: Morag

Age: 8 years old

Breed: West Highland Terrier

Fostered: South Wales

MORAG WILL NEED TO BE REHOMED WITH AT LEAST ON RESIDENT DOG

Health Issues: Morag had skin issues when she first came into rescue. It is now a lot better and being managed with special shampoo and cream which will probably be ongoing.

Morag is a gorgeous quiet girl who has a wonderful nature and just loves to have human company. She follows her foster mum around the house and garden and is never more than a few feet away. She is still quite nervous of sudden noises and movements and even though she wags her tail to greet you it stops as soon as you touch her. She likes nothing better than sleeping beside her favourite human on the sofa or in bed as long as she can see you.

People: Morag loves people and wags her tail to greet you. She is happy to be touched gently but is nervous of sudden movements. She is happy to be groomed and bathed with no fuss at all.

Can live with children: She is happy around older children who are dog savvy.

Can live with cats: She hasn’t met cats or other small animals.

Can live with other dogs: She always wants to greet other dogs out on walks. She is not aggressive at all with any dog big or small. She will run with the other two dogs in her foster home but other than that’s she isn’t interested in them. When out walking she would rather be with her foster mum than with the other dogs. Morag will need to be rehomed with at least one resident dog.

In the home: Morag is very good in the home and she is house trained. She sometimes barks at the TV especially if there is a dog on there or a siren. She has good recall from the garden. She sleeps in the bedroom in a dog bed. She sadly doesn’t play with any toys. She eats her food straightaway but is not at all aggressive with it. She is fine being left in the kitchen for a few hours and just sleeps in her bed.

Out and about: Morag likes to go for short walks and is good on the lead. She is getting used to the car by going on short journeys. She is not keen to go in the car and doesn’t relax very well but I think she will get used to this the more she does this. Morag is good at the vets.

Type of home: Morag needs a home where she can have the attention she so deserves. She just wants to be loved and taken for a little walk daily. We would like her to go to a home where there is someone around most of the day as Morag loves people.

Morag is neutered, fully vaccinated and up to date with flea and worming treatment.

Due to Covid19 lock down restrictions, we are only accepting local re homing applications.

previous arrow
next arrow

Name: Flora

Age: 5 years old

Breed: Shih tzu x poodle

Fostered in: South Wales

Health issues: Flora has no known health issues

FLORA WILL NEED TO BE REHOMED WITH AT LEAST ONE RESIDENT DOG.

Flora is an ex breeding girl. She is fully house trained and is a gorgeous well-behaved little girl who is slowly learning to trust her humans. When flora arrived, she was not happy around humans and would run to safety if you even looked at her. She is slowly getting better around humans now but will still run if she feels threatened or caught off guard.

People: Flora has bonded very well with her foster mum. She will scratch her leg to be picked up and will follow her around and watch her constantly. Her foster mum can pick her up and cuddle her with no problems. Flora is not as keen on her foster dad though and is wary of him touching her and approaching her. She did make a few growly noises at him when he approached her for her first few weeks, but she is now very slowly getting better. She’s definitely a woman’s girl. Flora is happy for her foster mum to brush her and touch her but not as keen on anyone else getting close to her.

Can live with children: Flora has not been around any children as none live in her foster home, but it’s probably best if she is not rehomed with young children as they may scare her with their energy and loudness. Flora would be better rehomed in an adult only home or a family with teenage children.

Can live with cats: Not tested.

Can live with Dogs: Flora lives with her foster brother, she pays no attention what so ever to him and what he’s doing. She will often take herself in the other room away from her foster parents and foster dog and sleep in her bed. Flora would not be bothered as an only dog as long as she was not being left alone and someone was home most of the time. She does like her own company and company of her foster mum when it suits her, but if rehomed with a resident dog she could also learn or rely on them when scared or unsure.

In the home: Flora is fully house trained and sleeps in the kitchen on her bed. She had a crate when she first arrived but was found fast asleep outside the crate on her blanket in the mornings, so it was taken away. Flora is not destructive and now and again she will attempt to play with her toys. She will throw them one by one up into the air till the basket is empty, her foster mum says when she does this you can see her cheeky little side bursting to come out and this makes her smile. Flora loves to eat and eats well. Flora has no toy or food aggression and can be left short periods with no problems.

Out and about: Unfortunately, due to restrictions with Covid – 19 Flora is not up to date with her vaccinations, she has not yet been on a proper walk. Her foster mum has walked her up and down the drive on her lead though and she walks beautiful.

Type of home: Flora would suit a home with just adults or a family with teenage children. Young children would scare her, and she would find it hard to flourish. With the right family flora could possibly go as an only dog or preferably a family with a laid back gentle dog that would not be in her face or expect her to play as she is quite independent and likes her own or human company (When it suits her).

Flora is up to date with her flea and worming treatment but dur to lock down restrictions she is awaiting neutering and vaccination.

Due to Covid19 lock down restrictions, we are only accepting local re homing applications.

I come with five weeks insurance from Agria Pet Insurance.

People: Harry loves all people, he will bark a little on meeting someone new, but in a friendly way, he craves attention and loves cuddles.

Can live with children: Harry has not been tested with very young children, he has been around children of 8-year-old, providing they are happy to show him love then he is fine.

Can live with cats: Not tested

Can live with other dogs: Harry has come from a home of no other dogs but seeing how much he enjoys the company of dogs it is essential he has another dog in his new home.

In the home: Harry is housetrained and will bounce by the door to let you know he wants to go out. Harry sleeps on his foster mums’ bed at night and on the sofa or dogs’ beds during the day. He isn’t aggressive in any way. Harry can be left for up to 3 hours on occasions but would rather someone who is home most of the day.

Out and about: Harry is learning to walk on a lead, his recall is improving, and he loves being out on walks, he is very inquisitive and enjoys sniffing and playing with other dogs. At the vets Harry is a star when getting a health check.

Type of home: Harry would thrive with another dog and humans to give him lots of attention, he is a very affectionate and would need a family happy to give him love and cuddles when he demands them.

ESTHER HAS BEEN ADOPTED

Name: Esther

Age:  19 weeks

Breed: Cavalier cross Westie

Fostered in: South Wales

Health Issues: None

ESTHER NEEDS TO BE REHOMED WITH AT LEAST ONE RESIDENT DOG.

Esther was a hand from an unsold litter.  She is a wonderful little puppy who despite her lack of socialisation is surprisingly affectionate and loving. She is a delight to foster and one of the cutest and sweetest natured puppies we have ever had the pleasure of looking after.

People: Sarah came from a puppy farm she was quite friendly from the get-go although she would shy away a little if you overpowered her. She has been with us almost two weeks and her delightful little character is starting to shine through. She enjoys being cuddled and puts her paws up on your legs so that you can bend down and envelop her in your arms. She is very compliant and will let you pick her up and will snuggle into you. She has been bathed, had her ears and eyes cleaned and brushed with no problem. She loves her foster dad as much as her foster Mum and will run to greet him when he comes into the room.

Can live with children: Due to lockdown she hasn’t had the opportunity to meet children but she is such a sweet dog that we think she would be fine to be rehomed with children providing they don’t overpower her and understand that she is not a toy.

Can live with cats: Not tested

Can live with Dogs: Esther is being fostered with one of her siblings Sarah and they are very alike. Their foster Mum had to put different collars on them so that she could tell the difference. The girls adore each other and play tussle and do zoomies in the garden. She is also being fostered with two resident older dogs who don’t really engage with her. She is very respectful of them and knows not to annoy them with her puppy ways. She is very submissive and approaches them by commando crawling on her tummy which is so cute to see.

In the home: Esther has been clean at night from the second day she arrived. She had the odd accident inside at first but goes outside all the time now. The weather helps as she is in the garden a lot of the time. She sleeps with her sister in a dog bed inside a playpen at night. they generally sleep right through. She gets so excited to see everyone in the morning her body wiggles and dances. She goes outside to toilet but quickly whizz back for more wiggly cuddles. Being a pup she does like to chew things and has a penchant for stealing stones from the garden pond to chew. Potential owners will need to watch for wires or anything that her little mouth might find interesting to chew. She loves toys and her kong. She is neither food nor toy aggressive in fact she doesn’t seem to have a harmful bone in her body. Even though she is a puppy she is a wonderful little houseguest Her puppy ways are to be expected but are by no means over the top and difficult to manage.

Out and about: Esther is not yet fully vaccinated so has not been able to go out for walks so will need training in this area. She was sick in the short journey home from the vet but could have been a reaction to her injection. The vet said she was very well behaved.

Type of home: Esther adores being with her sister and just loves playing all the time with her. I think she needs to be rehomed with another resident kind and playful dog who would be able to help continue with her socialisation. She is a typical pup in that she needs lots of attention and stimulation so someone who is home most of the day would be desirable. She would probably be fine with children who are dog savvy, but she would be happy with adults who have the time to continue her training. She is a wonderful little pup with lots of love to give and will continue to flourish in a home where her humans are committed to giving her their time and attention and importantly their love,

Esther is up to date with her flea and worming treatments and has also had her first vaccination.

I also come with 5 weeks free insurance from Agria Pet Insurance.

Potential adopters will be expected to travel to South Wales to meet her.

Age: 3 years old.

Breed: Chihuahua x Yorkshire Terrier.

Branch is a super little dog and a proper little gentleman who puts his front paws on your knees to ask to come up for cuddles. He runs around the garden playing with his foster dog brothers at supersonic speed. He is house trained barring a wee at night which he does on the puppy pad. He meets and greets other dogs nicely when they come to my home. He is a gentle boy but wary of small children, mainly due to the fact they usually want to chase him because he is very small. He loves all people and is in his element when cuddling on someone’s lap. Branch is a lovely boy who would fit in to most homes but doesn’t like being left on his own. His previous home had quite a few dogs and he is used to that company! Branch doesn’t walk on lead or off lead outside the garden he lays down closes his eyes and plays dead. This is going to need persistent, so a home that’s willing to work on this is essential.

Can live with Dogs: Branch is great with most dogs, he seems to prefer females so would be better suited in a home with female dogs.

Can live with cats: Not tested

In the home Branch sleeps on a dog bed in his foster mums bedroom but has recently learned to jump up on the bed. He would happily sleep in another room with a resident dog. He is house trained 99.9% but uses a puppy pad to wee at night. He isn’t destructive or guarding he will growl if another dog goes near his food but fine with humans near him or removing the food. He can be left 4 hours or more with another dog for company. Branch is not crate trained.

Out and about: Refuses to walk outside at the moment, this will need addressing with plenty of patience.

Type of home: Branch will need a home where someone is around most of the day, a home who is willing to work on his lead training and no young children.

Branch is neutered and up to date with flea and worming treatment. Vaccinations will commence once lock down restrictions are lifted.

previous arrow
next arrow

Name: Roxy

Age: 2 years old

Breed: Schnauzer cross.

Fostered in: South Wales

Health conditions: None

Roxy is a lovely girl. Young and energetic she loves attention and loves to play ball. She can be excitable at food times and walk times, but responds very well to a calm, firm voice. She is very affectionate and demands a lot of affection from her human. She is most happy sitting on a lap with her paws on your chest, staring into your eyes

People: Roxy is a feisty girl. She craves attention from her foster mum but isn’t very keen on foster dad, but this is improving every day. She is very wary of foster dads’ feet and hands – jumping backwards if he gets too near too quickly. She won’t walk beside him and won’t accept petting from him unless he’s sitting down, and then only her terms. This will need plenty of time and patience from any potential home.

Can live with children: Roxy is energetic and feisty. She can be mouthy so older active children would be best or an adult only household.

Can live with dogs: She doesn’t like the other dogs getting close to me. She gets very excitable and will physically push them away using herself as a shield between them and me. We are working hard to remedy this.
She is learning to play with the other dogs but is very obviously not used to being with other dogs.
Her foster Brother loves her but it’s not really reciprocated. She will always choose her foster Mum as her companion over the other dogs, but she’s learning to cooperate more. She is not aggressive in any way towards other dogs either inside or outside our home environment.

Can live with cats: Roxy is ok with our dog savvy cat but can’t resist chasing him. He will tell her off as necessary.

Out and about: Roxy walks well on a lead and is ok off lead in a secure area. Her recall is getting better. She travels well in the car.

In the home: Roxy is clean in the house. No accidents at all since coming to us.
She likes her own space so sleeps in her own crate overnight, with her own blanket and toys. During the day she will sleep on a sofa and in her basket – sometimes letting the other dogs share with her if they climb in, but she will seldom choose to get and occupied basket herself. She needs lots of exercise and lots of brain work. She loves a ball and loves destroying soft toys. She doesn’t destroy anything else and learns very quickly. Her favourite game is tug.
She loves her food now that she is on raw. She has shed weight and now has a beautiful shape; she is graceful on her feet now she is carrying less weight.
Due to lockdown Roxy has not been left alone.

Type of home: At the moment we feel she would thrive as an only dog, but given plenty of time she will adapt to live with other dogs and learn to share her humans.
She’s a beautiful girl and an absolute delight to have around.

Roxy is not neutered or vaccinated at the moment due to restrictions within our vets, once these have been lifted all these will be completed.

Potential adopters would be expected to travel to South Wales to meet her.

ARABELLA IS RESERVED

Name: Arabella

Age: 5 years

Breed: Cavalier King Charles

Fostered: South Wales

WILL NEED TO BE REHOMED WITH AT LEAST ONE RESIDENT DOG.

Health Issues: No known health conditions

Arabella is an ex breeding girl. She is a larger size cavalier but believes she is a lot smaller, she is a complete goofball and although still scared at times is a loving loyal girl that like to be besides you always.

People: Arabella can be a scared little girl that is desperate for human love. Slow interactions are important as she is scared at first by touch but will warm to you once she trusts you. Arabella does not like being groomed or showered and will wriggle and run to hide but over time I think she will learn to be brave so time and patience is a must.

Can live with children: Arabella is quite a scared girl at times and sudden movements and sudden loud noises scare her and she will run to hide. Arabella would not be happy living with young boisterous toddlers/children, gentle older children would suit her better. Arabella is desperate to explore and be the dog she should of been so a family that has Time for her to be able to explore and learn, patience to show her what she’s missing and lots of love so she knows humans are good is also a must.

Can live with cats: Yes,She is not interested in the cat living in her foster home.

Can live with other dogs: Arabella will snuggle up next to her foster sister and brother and will enjoy exploring in the garden with them, but her main choice to follow around is her foster mum. She will bark at the neighbour’s dog when she comes to the fence but it’s more of an excitement bark as her tail will wag like she’s going to take off and she will run up and down with excitement. Although Arabella is quite laid back and very into her humans. I think that she would b better rehomed with another dog as not only will they help her feel safe, they also help with her separation anxiety not returning And she still also has lots of things to learn from them.

In the home: Arabella is 100 % toilet trained and dry through the night. She hasn’t yet learnt how to tell her foster mum she needs to go out if the door is closed, so she has had one or two accidents due to this. Arabella has never used a crate in her foster home as she prefers to sleep on the settee with her foster brother and sister. She sleeps on her foster mums’ bed and sleeps all night. Arabella is not destructive but does love a dirty sock, she will steal her foster dads dirty work socks and loves to chew holes in the heels. Arabella loves her food and is currently enjoying being on a raw nugget diet. She had a problem with bad flatulence on dry food and this has now Disappeared. She does not have any aggression with food or toys, she is a gentle soul. She doesn’t play with toys due to not knowing how but I think she would love to learn. She will randomly go and get a teddy toy and carry it to the settee, maybe to mother. When Arabella came to her foster mum, she suffered with separation anxiety, when her foster mum would leave the room or go out she would cry and howl. But with time and Patience Arabella is now happy to be left home with her foster brother and sister, and No longer gets upset being left. She has been left for a few hours and she will sleep until her foster mum comes back.

Out and about: Unfortunately, due to Arabella not being up to date with her vaccinations and being in season 2 days after she came to we foster mum, she has not been out on a walk. taking her to the vets previously though she walked beautiful on the lead.

Arabella is not neutered or fully vaccinated as yet due to restrictions regarding Covid-19 but is  up to date with flea and worming treatment.

Potential adopters will be expected to travel to South Wales to meet her.

Due to covid19 and the current lockdown across the country, we are unable to process applications and rehome any of our dogs until the crisis is over.

MABEL – REHOMED
20200421_123036
previous arrow
next arrow

Name: Mabel

Age: 4

Breed: Cross breed

Fostered in: South Wales

Mabel is a beautiful girl. She arrived from Turkey in February 2020. Her owner is terminally ill and didn’t want her to be left in Turkey when she passes away.
Mabel was quite bewildered when she arrived in Foster care. She was very nervous and jumped at the slightest noise. She was very wary of adult males and has barked and growled at them, although she’s much better now as she gets used to her new surround dings and feels a little less scared.

Can live with children: Mabel interacts well with children in the home and loves being petted and talked to. Small children and or babies could be knocked over inadvertently by her as she is a little clumsy. She is quite protective of adult females when adult males arrive on the scene. She has barked and growled previously but is improving.

Can live with cats: Mabel has not been cat tested but reacts excitedly towards small flurries.

Can live with other dogs: Mabel can be quite wary of dogs we see in the park. If approached by any large dog, she will bark aggressively at them, because you can see that she is scared. She is considerably better with dogs on the lead, as long as they don’t get too close.

In the home: Mabel is calm in the family home. She is house trained. She sleeps on a dog bed in a bedroom or in the lounge. She hasn’t been crated. She has recently started playing with toys and particularly likes squeaky toys. She eats kibble with a little tinned food added and she has a good appetite. Mabel is not toy or food aggressive but has not been tested with other animals. She is usually well behaved when left up to four hours and doesn’t destroy things.

Out and About: Mabel enjoys going out on the lead. However, she will react defensively if other dogs come too close.

Type of home: I believe that Mabel would benefit from an experienced owner, who is patient and kind, and can take her on long walks. It would be useful if they’ve had experience with dogs from other counties or would be happy to research them. If there are adult males within the family unit, they would agree to be aware of her nervousness and be happy to modify their behaviour accordingly.

Mable will need a lot of patience and understand when she leaves her foster home so please be mindful of this when applying.

Mable is up to date with vaccinations, flea and worming treatment. She is also spayed.

REHOMED – FIZZ
86406940_628093368027031_6404738773204074496_o

Name: Fizz

Age: 3 ½

Breed: Westie X

Fostered: Worcester

Fizz is beginning to be a very sweet and cheeky girl. She’s still quite wary of humans and will scuttle to jump on sofa if her foster mum walks into the room but she is at least jumping down from sofa while she is sat next to her. She will come and lay her head on your lap once she trusts you and her favourite evening pastime is bringing soft toys from toybox up onto the sofa where she will happily chew them. She will also roll a tennis ball along with her nose but can be destructive and tear covering off them much to Alfie her foster brothers disgust as he’s very particular about his balls! She loves to be cuddled and will lie across my lap for as long as I let her.

Can live with children: Yes

Can live with cats: Fizz lives with a cat who is very tolerant of dogs and totally unafraid so she does her best to ignore him especially when he sits close to her on the sofa. She’s not brave enough to turf him out of her bed though.

Can live with other dogs: She loves the resident dog and will cuddle up to him whenever he permits which is surprisingly often with her. She’s quite comfortable with all dogs outside and has not shown any aggression either towards dogs or people. I think she definitely needs another dog as she takes her cues from Alfie. Today she managed to go outside over the threshold without having to be carried with the help of Alfie who she followed. PROGRESS. Once out she walks very well on the lead.

In the home: She has had only a couple of accidents in the house but hasn’t asked to go out yet although accidents have been by doors to garden on puppy pads. She sleeps on the sofa now that she’s getting braver and always sits up to greet her foster mum in the morning. At the moment Fizz loves to lounge on the sofa but will get down for water and occasionally eats her food by the waterbowl which is in the lounge. She eats everything she’s given and has shown no food or toy aggression thus far. She has occasionally been left her on her own for up to an hour particularly if it’s raining as she hates getting wet and have left her with Alfie for up to three hours with no problems.

Out and about: We are still waiting for the tail to go completely up on walks – it’s about half-mast at the moment which is an improvement on completely tucked under. She was very reluctant to leave the house initially so she had to carry her until her foster mum felt she would cope. She’s now following Alfie out but is still wary. She travels in the boot of the car with Alfie but is often sick even on short journeys. The calming spray seems to help but doesn’t work every time. She was fine at the vets.

Type of home: Fizz will need a calm, quiet home with another dog to learn from. She will need lots of tlc and attention as she likes to be touching either a dog or a human when she’s relaxing.

Fizz is neutered, fully vaccinated and up to date with flea and worming treatment.

Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet Worcester

ADOPTED – Maisie

Name: Maisie

Age: 6 years

Breed: Cavalier King Charles Spaniel

Fostered in: South Wales

Health Issues; Maisie had quite bad teeth when she came to us but has since had a dental and some teeth removed. She has a stage 3 heart murmur, but no medication required.

Maisie is a very soft, kind, loving soul with huge amounts of love to give. She is a quiet little girl, only heard her bark once and even then it was a quiet sweet little bark. She loves a cuddle, on the sofa or in bed she’s not fussy where, as long as you are close by. don’t leave your seat for more than 30 seconds because she loves a nice warm chair.
When not cuddling Maisie really enjoys a leisurely stroll and investigate in the garden, shes a real lady and doesn’t like to be rushed.

she is sat on your lap whilst being brushed. Not overly keen on having her nails clipped but that will Maisie loves to be fussed by everyone. She has shown fear towards 1 of my adult sons friends who is over 6 foot tall but very quickly calmed once he sat down and showed he was no threat. She loves to be brushed, even more so if come with time and trust.

Can live with children: Maisie is wonderful the 9year old she lives with and his friends, the more kind gentle hands the better but I do not think she would like young fast noisy children. We haven’t been for walks due to vaccinations but she greats other dogs and people in a friendly way when we have been at the vets.

Can live with Cats. Not tested with cats. Inquisitive about rabbit and rat but no aggression shown.

Can live with other dogs: Maisie is 1 of 8 in her foster home and is comfortable with all of the other dogs, large and small. I think Maisie would be great with other dogs or as an only dog as long as she wasn’t left alone for too long, she loves too be close and have company.

In the home: Maisie is very good in the house, no destructive behaviour at all, she does have the occasional wee accident if she has been rushed in from the garden. She sleeps on the landing with 4 other dogs, sometimes in the big bed with another and sometimes in a bed on her own. She goes in a crate when her foster Mum is out. She does love to chew a toy bone but hasn’t played with any others. Maisie loves her food. Never shown any aggression towards people or around toys or food.

Out and about: Walks well on lead when going to vet and a little nervous in the vets but generally ok. Travels well in car.

Type of home: Maisie deserves a quietish cuddly family with enough space in the garden for investigating and exploring. A nice little space on the sofa and a blanket to cwtch on colder days. A family that will take her for walks at her pace and give her the time and patience she deserves.

Maisie is fully vaccinated and up to date with her flea and worming treatment.

Potential adopters would be expected to travel to South Wales to meet her.

Name:Sugar Plum

Age: 3

Breed: Pug

Fostered in: Stourbridge.

Can live with children: She hasn’t been around young children whilst with her foster home but I’m sure she would be exactly the same with them as she is with people.

Can live with Cats: She hasn’t been cat tested but takes no notice of the cats she’s seen in the vets.

Can live with other dogs: She gets on well with the dogs here and those she meets when out and about. She does cuddle with the dogs here, but her number one priority is that have someone she can snuggle with.

Sugarplum is a very special, happy little girl. She is extremely affectionate and loves nothing

more than to cuddle or just sit close to you. She has a soft mouth and takes treats very gently.

In the home: Sugarplum is housetrained and sleeps on the bed with her foster mum and the other dogs. She is not destructive but will walk over the coffee table if she gets the chance. She eats very well and is not food or toy possessive. She’s fine being left for up to four hours without any problems. She does like to sit by the window and watch the world go by.

Out and about: Sugarplum likes her walks and meeting people, she travels well in a crate. She loves going to the vets because she gets loads of fuss there!

Type of home: Sugarplum would like a home where there is someone to make a big fuss of her. Ideally she would love to be a lap dog. She could live with respectful children but probably not younger than 7 purely because she’s so small. She would make an ideal family dog.

Sugarplum is Neutered, fully vaccinated and up to date with her flea and worming treatment.

Potential adopters would be expected to travel to Stourbridge to meet her.

ADOPTED – Margaret
84846189_10222659189208823_8504319555735126016_o

Margaret is a 6-year old Schnauzer s, who is being fostered in South Wales. She is an ex-breeding girl who is just getting used to living in a home and gaining trust from people instead of fearing them. She loves all the home comforts and is gaining in confidence daily.

People – Margaret is still very nervous around people, new things and new sounds. She is very sweet and loving in nature but does appreciate slower and calmer movements so any children will have to understand this and be sensible and old enough to treat her accordingly.

Dogs – Margaret does need at least one other dog to live with as they teach her how to be a normal dog and give her more confidence.

Cats – Not cat tested

In the home – Margaret has made herself at home. She enjoys sleeping on the sofa and in her dog bed. Sometimes if she wants some peace she will sleep with the other dog in her kitchen but does have free reign in the house. Margaret isn’t destructive but does like tags on clothing, which she will nibble. Due to having 16 teeth removed Margaret is on wet food, which makes it easier at the moment, although dry food could be introduced as she heals. Margaret is partly housetrained but her adopters will be expected to have patience and understanding to help her get into a new routine

Out and about – Margaret doesn’t travel well out of a crate and does get travel sick on longer journeys. She is frightened at the vets so foster mum wraps her in a blanket to help her feel safer. She copes well as long as she has her human’s support.

Type of home – Margaret is looking for a new home that will have at least one other dog for company. She took a while to settle in her busy foster home and would be happy in a quieter home. She would love her humans to be home for most of the day to help her with her housetraining and general socialisation. Experience with ex-breeding dogs would be beneficial so her fears can be understood.

Margaret is neutered, chipped, vaccinated and up to date with her flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet her in her foster home in South Wales.
