Age: Cavalier King Charles

Breed: 2 years old

PEGGY WILL NEED TO BE REHOMED WITH AT LEAST ONE RESIDENT DOG.

Peggy is a beautiful, sweet natured, gentle little girl who will be an asset to any home. Peggy loves walking and being outside.

People: Peggy is very shy initially but once comfortable will readily approach you with the waggliest of tails. Peggy is very food and treat orientated and will be your friend in no time if you have a tasty treat for her. In her own time, Peggy loves being touched and specially loves having her ears played with and being tickled under her chin. You can touch any part of her, and take things out of her mouth very easily. She will sit quietly when you groom her and is very good in the bath. Peggy cowers if you stroke the top of her head but now that she trusts her foster family she allows us to do it more and more.

Can live with children: Peggy was scared of sudden noises/movement when she first arrived. Peggy still gets startled occasionally and runs to her ‘safe place’ because of this Peggy will only be able to be rehomed with older mindful children who are prepared to help her settle into her new home

Can live with cats: Not tested.

Can live with other dogs: Peggy must be homed with another dog. She constantly looks to her foster brothers for reassurance and hunts them out if she can’t see them.

In the home: Peggy is 99% house trained. If the door is open, she will go outside every time, if it is not, she makes no signal that she needs to go out and toilets by the door. Peggy was crate trained before coming into rescue and sleeps in a crate in our bedroom. Peggy loves her toys and like nothing better than snuggling them. Peggy has an extremely healthy appetite and will eat all day long given the opportunity. Due to lockdown restrictions Peggy has only been left alone 3 or 4 times in her foster home with the other dogs for company.  

Out and about: Peggy will not voluntarily jump into the car but is happy to be picked up and placed onto the back seat and sits quietly whilst we harness her in. Peggy loves going out on walks and is very energetic, she is good on a lead but does tend to pull to be with the other dogs. When meeting other dogs on a walk Peggy can get a little scared and hide behind Foster Mum. Peggy has exceptional recall, while off the lead she always checks her foster family are around before jumping into a stream to explore a little more.

Type of home: Peggy is looking for an active home with at least one resident dog. because of her love of “her “people we are looking for a home where someone is around all or part of the day.

Peggy is fully vaccinated and up to date with her flea and worming treatment. She is currently awaiting neutering.

Name: Suki

Age: !0 years approx.

Breed: Cavalier King Charles Spaniel

Fostered in: South Wales

Health conditions: When Suki arrived, she had a sizeable tumour on her mammary gland. This has now been surgically removed. The vet is hopeful that it has been removed in its entirety, but the site should be checked for any future regrowth. Suki’s mouth was in a poor state of neglect. She had to have a full dental and some teeth removed so she is on a diet of wet food only at present. She is recovering well with no major discomfort. She also has a Grade 4 heart murmur which requires no medication at present but must be monitored and will likely need heart scans and long-term medication soon. Because of this Suki will be adopted on an assisted basis whereby the charity will pay the veterinary costs of treatment for her heart condition only.

Suki is a small cute cavy with a wiggly body and a waggy tail. She was surrendered from home along with 15 other dogs. Her living conditions were awful, and she was kept in a crate. Despite these circumstances she is a very friendly little girl who loves her humans and craves to be with them 24/7

People: Suki loves her humans. When she was rescued, she ran from her cage straight into the arms of her rescuer. She loves to be cuddled up next to you on the sofa and her tail wags every time she hears your voice. If she is out in the garden and she sees you she will run up and put her little paws on your legs she really does like to be close. She enjoys being groomed however is a little uncomfortable having her ears and eyes cleaned but tolerates it.

Can live with children: Because of lockdown Suki has not had the opportunity of meeting children. She is a delicate little soul with heart issues so needs a quiet home. She is friendly so older children would be fine.

Can live with cats: Not tested.

Can live with other dogs: Suki is living with five other dogs in her foster home and has been fine with them all. She prefers her humans to dogs, but she does like to cuddle up on a chair with the other cavaliers. She could be rehomed as an only dog if the adopters are prepared to spend lots of time with her, but another quiet affectionate dog or dogs will provide her with some company if the humans go out. She has not been out on a lead yet as she has not had her second vaccination, but she is not comfortable with a lead on in the garden.

In the home: Suki is housetrained in her foster home. She did have a few accidents initially but is fine now. She sleeps in a crate on her own or in a playpen with two other dogs. She has been a bit fretful and barks for company when lights go out but does settle. She has been left in the house with the other dogs for about an hour and has been fine. She sleeps a lot so as long as she has a sofa to lie on she is fine. She does not show interest in toys. She has not shown any food aggression, but she does eat separately as one of the other dogs tries to eat her food. Her appetite has waned a little since her had her teeth out but generally she enjoys her food. She is wonderful loving little girl sweet and affectionate and all she asks from life is cuddles, a sofa to lie on and someone to love.

Out and about: Suki has only travelled to the vets in a car in a crate and she cried in most of the way. I think she would travel better on a harness in the car with her humans.

Type of home: As this is an assisted adoption applicant will need to live near one of our Maesglas Vets practices. Suki needs a quiet home where there will be someone willing to devote their time to supplying her with the love and cuddles, she enjoys so much. She could possibly be an only dog however we think she would enjoy the company of another dog if they were laid back and liked to sit on the sofa with her. This will be an assisted adoption so potential adopters would need to understand her potential health issues. She has not had the best life recently yet despite this she has so much love to give to a family who have the time to love and cherish her for the rest of her days.

Suki is neutered and up to date with her flea and worming treatments. She is currently awaiting second vaccination.

Truffle and Pebbles

Truffle and Pebbles are a bonded pair that complement each other and have to be rehomed together.

Truffles is a complex character. She adores her brofur and her special person but it takes her a while to build up trust. When you have that she will let you fuss her, however she’ll let you know when she has had enough. She would prefer a quieter home but is living in a multi cat and dog household and coping. She enjoys birdwatching and catching flies but any introductions to the outside world would need to be carefully managed. She is a funny quirky girl, who delights in catching flies and snoozing in the sun.

Pebbles is a sweet cuddly boy who adores his sisfur Truffles, the two enjoy grooming, playing and sleeping together. His hobbies include hiding under blankets, exploring and playing. He’s very friendly with the foster dogs and would enjoy the company of a cat friendly dog. He would like a home with some safe outdoor space (catio/ enclosed garden/ quiet cul de sac). His sisfur is nervous so introductions to outdoors would need to be carefully managed if not restricted to catio. Pretty sure this stunning duo will be snapped up but they need someone happy to develop trust on the cat’s terms.

Scarlett enjoys nothing more than eating and sleeping and watching the world go by on a windowsill dreaming of her forever home where she will be able to go outside and feel the breeze. She’s a propper snoozy cat and spends most of the day chilling on foster mums bed. She will come downstairs for a chat now and again. She had her first taste of cat mint yesterday and she loved it – she stayed chilling in the conservatory with her foster pawrents for hours. She won’t really sit on your lap for a fuss, but will rub against you purring to be fussed. Name: Captain Pugwash.

Age: 10 years old approx.

Breed: Griffon.

Fostered in: South Wales.

PUGWASH MUST BE REHOMED WITH AT LEAST ONE RESIDENT DOG.

Health conditions: Pugwash has a grade 2 heart murmur. His teeth and ears are in poor condition. He only has one testicle but is booked in with the vet to have this corrected when he is neutered.

Pugwash is an adorable happy little chap; he comes running up to people with his tail wagging. He loves his treats and will sit for them. He likes having his head, chin and ears stroked. Not sure of his age but possibly older than 6. He is fine with other dogs but prefers ones his own size. Pugwash is interested in everything going on around him and gets excited at feed or treat time. He is not used to lead walks but that is progressing

People: Pugwash is always excited to see people; he can be a bit nervous at first of being touched but a bit of patience works wonders. He loves having a cuddle and having his chin and ears scratched and stroked. He tolerates being bathed as he does having his ear drops.

Can live with children: Not tested

Can live with cats: Not tested. He has seen our cat from a distance and did not react.

Can live with other dogs: Pugwash is fine with all the 5 other dogs of various sizes in his foster home, but he particularly likes ones his own size. He will need a confident companion dog in his forever home. Pugwash has not yet been out for a walk as awaiting second vaccination. He is excited to have his harness on but does not yet walk on a lead, this is work in progress.

In the home: Pugwash is housetrained, he currently has access to the garden all day. Pugwash loves an open crate to escape to when he wants a nap but is happy snuggled up on a blanket on the floor with his current best friend. Pugwash has not really shown any interest in toys. He eats well and gets excited at food times. He is currently eating wet dog food due to his teeth problems but eats next to his friend and has shown no food aggression at all. Pugwash has not been left since in foster due to lockdown, he would probably be fine for an hour or two.

Out and about: Pugwash has not yet been on walks, lead training in progress. He loves going out in the car and travels well (only to the vets so far but he seems to enjoy that). He has only had one visit to the vet since being in foster and was a good boy.

Type of home: Pugwash would love a quiet home with a similar sized dog for company but with people who would be around for most of the day to encourage him to be more confident and enjoy being a treasured pet. He would love a garden as he loves to potter, lie in the sun and help in the veggie patch.

Pugwash has had first vaccination and is up to date with his flea and worming treatments, he is currently awaiting neutering and second vaccination.

Name: Mario

Age: 12 years old

Breed: Chinese crested

Fostered in: Crewe

Health conditions: Mario is an elderly dog, so has the typical age related conditions- he doesn’t need long walks as his legs are a bit arthritic, he is blind in one eye but has good vision in the other, and has few remaining teeth after a recent dental. Mario’s heart is very strong, and he is on no long term medication.

Mario is an elderly crested powder puff variety that is a very people orientated dog. He may be older but is still very waggy tailed and likes to stretch up for a fuss once he gets to know you. Mario loves to potter around the house like a little shadow and loves his nap time too.

People: Mario once he knows you loves getting stroked and is always very happy to see you. Mario will dance around to get your attention and loves being near to people. He is a very affectionate dog and although shy to start with his real character soon comes through.

Can live with children: Due to Mario’s age older children or adult only home would be best for Mario.

Can live with cats: Mario totally ignores the cat in the foster home.

Can live with other dogs: Mario lives with a variety of dog’s in the foster home with no issue, he has previously lived in a house with multiple dog’s in cramped conditions before being rescued, and has no issues living with others or being an only dog.

In the home: Mario is a quiet dog in the house, due to his previous living conditions Mario arrived not house trained but is now learning those skills again. Potential adopters will need to have the patience to continue to work with Mario on this. Mario doesn’t show any inclination to play with toys and is fine to be left for short periods. Due to his age Mario needs someone around most of the day to give him companionship and to also continue the house training.

Out and about: Mario is an elderly dog that walks well on a lead, but will not need a lot of exercise, he would happily live as a house dog if he has access to a garden and due to his previous life Mario is a bit unsure of the world outside the security of his house

Type of home: Mario deserves a retirement home where he will be loved, given a comfy bed and a garden to explore. Mario would suit a home with someone home all day, and with adults to provide a quiet environment for him. Mario could live with other calm, quiet dogs or as an only dog. Mario will need owners who are committed to keeping up his coat care, and providing a retirement home for a dog that has sadly been neglected by his previous owners and who deserves to be spoilt and loved for the rest of his days.

DOLLY WILL NEED TO BE REHOMED WITH AT LEAST ONE RESIDENT DOG.

Dolly is a beautiful girl who she is still getting used to being touched, first thing in the morning she stretches out on the floor and likes to have her back scratched as she crawls commando style around the floor.
Dolly has found toys are fun and likes to go to the toy box and pull everything out and take some to her bed and likes to take one or two to sit on her favourite chair with her.
Dolly is a happy little girl who is enjoying finding out the world is a lovely comfortable place where she can stretch out and relax and sleep without fear. Even though she is only small she loves to stretch out on the sofa and take up as much room as possible.

People: Dolly is still a shy girl around people, she will need a quiet home with people who will let her grow at her own pace.

Can live with children: Dolly has not met any children yet but we would suggest children over the age of 10 as they would understand her need to be left alone and not picked up yet.

Can live with cats: Dolly lives with a cat in the Foster home and has no interest in the cat.

Can live with other dogs: Dolly would need another dog in the home. Dolly has started to play with other dogs but can get grumpy when she is had enough and wants to stop. Dolly is comfy around dogs in the house but has not met any outside the home yet.

In the home: Dolly’s house training is still ongoing, but she will go on a puppy pad if she can’t get out the garden. Dolly sleeps on her foster mums’ bed, she has never used a crate. Dolly has not been destructive. Dolly has discovered toys and will take them to her bed. Dolly has been left for only 2 hours and was happy to see us on return. Dolly loves her food and will growl if any other dog approaches and can be feisty if the other dog attempts to try and share her food.

Out and about: Not been on walks yet due to lock down restrictions, Dolly travelled well in the car.

Type of Home: Dolly loves to see her humans and would suit a home with someone home most of the day. She will need a quiet home but someone to take her out on daily walks is a must as she is an active girl.

Dolly is neutered, fully vaccinated and up to date with her flea and worming treatments.

Health Conditions: Mani has recently had her eye removed and no further treatment is deemed necessary.

MANI WILL NEED TO ME REHOMED WITH AT LEAST ONE RESIDENT DOG.

This sweet little one old eyed girl needs a retirement home where she can relax and enjoy the freedom of life outside of a crate. Mani was surrendered 2 weeks ago along with 16 other dogs she had been living with. She was not in the best condition health wise, but she has had surgery to remove her eye and some dental work and teeth removed so she is starting to be well on the road to recovery from this trauma.

People: Mani has been indifferent to her foster mum and dad although just recently she has nudged her foster Dad for some attention and her tail is staring to wag when she sees us. To be fair to her the majority of the time her fosters have interacted with her has been to administer medication, so she is understandably wary. She is however very compliant and seemed to really enjoy being groomed. She will let her foster mum clean her ears and brush her and will sit on her lap for a short period and enjoy some tickles behind the ear.

Can live with children: Not tested due to lockdown however foster mums 8-year-old godson visited the garden today and she was the first to run up to him to say hello. She would be best in a home where there are no boisterous children but could probably cope with older respectful children

Can live with cats: Not tested.

Can live with other dogs: She is in foster with five other dogs. She is fine with them all but does not really interact apart from the occasional sniff. She sleeps with a very shut down cavalier and they sometimes cuddle up together. She would be fine with all dogs.

In the home Mani will go outside to toilet. She sleeps in a playpen with another foster dogs, a female cavalier. She has slept in a crate and was fine. She was confined in a crate when she was rescued. She does not play with toys and has not been aggressive although she will growl if other dogs come near her food.

Out and about: Mani has not been on walks yet. we do not think she was walked a lot in her previous life. She is an old lady so we anticipate that short walks only would suit her once she is fully vaccinated and recovered.

Type of home: This darling little girl is still trying to come to terms with the upheaval of being removed from an awful situation which, horrendous as it was, is the only life she has known for the majority of her years. A home with experience of the breed would be ideal especially if there would be other Tibbies to keep her company. Someone who would give her the time to settle and the love she needs to feel truly comfortable in a new environment. She is a lovely good-natured little sweetheart and would thrive in a home where she would get the attention and love that she craves.

Age: 4 years old.

Breed: Schnauzer

Fostered in: South Wales

Health conditions: Vivian has had double cataract surgery and is currently on drops 3 times a day. These are reducing but it’s likely she will always need eye medication.

Vivian is a gentle sweet natures girl. Understandably she’s a little wary having lived many years in darkness on a puppy farm but once she knows she’s safe she has a waggy tail and will stand on her back legs with her front legs resting on you for a fuss

People: Vivian is initially wary and likes to do things in her own time when she is ready. Once she trusts you her personality starts to show through and she will jump on your lap for a cuddle. She is cautious of people walking towards her when lead walking and will stop until they have passed.

Can live with Children: Although Vivian is good with children she would not want to be played with so would be better in a home without young children.

Can live with cats: Not tested but would think she could live with a dog savvy cat.

Can live with other dogs: As an ex breeder Vivian would like an older dog in her new home. She isn’t happy around puppies or boisterous dogs.

In the home: Vivian is an easy dog to have in the home. She is happy to potter around the garden and is fully toilet trained. she is not destructive and loves her food. She is not toy or food aggressive She sleeps cuddled up to the resident dog in the kitchen and this is where she feels safe. Vivian is fine to be left for a few hours at a time

Out and about: Vivian enjoys short walks in a quiet area. She walks well on the lead with no pulling. She is wary of traffic and people walking towards her and will freeze until they have passed.

Type of home: Vivian is looking for a quiet home with a resident dog and no small children. Someone who is patient and understands her history and will give her the time she needs to settle and relax without pushing her too fast. Quiet walks in the county or beach where there are not too many people or traffic around would be perfect for her.

Health conditions: Melia has an untreated trauma to her one eye so is completely blind in this eye and it is due to be removed shortly, she also has a grade two heart murmur but doesn’t need medication at the moment.

Melia is a gentle girl who likes the quiet things in life. She is a very loving girl who is happy to snuggle up to you and would gladly stay there all day. Being an ex-breeding girl sudden movement scare her but once comfortable she loves to be loved and cuddled.

People: Melia has a waggy tail for everyone. She is Definitely a people monster; she loves to cuddle up to you and feel safe. She can be scared with sudden movements but feels safe as soon as you sit down and will run to you wagging her tail to sit with you.

Can live with children: Melia is fine with quiet gentle children that will let her share their lap and cuddle but would be scared with young loud children.

Can live with cats: Melia would be fine with any small animals or cats

Can live with other dogs: Melia is not confident around boisterous or jumpy dogs and will take herself out of the situation and lay in her crate. She likes quiet laid-back dogs that enjoy sniffing around quietly in the garden as much as she does. Melia will lay on her foster mum’s settee with her foster sisters for as long as she can she loves to sleep lol. She needs to be rehomed with another quiet older dog that can build her confidence to do things herself.

In the home: Melia loves to chill and sleep. She will lay on the settee all day long if left to and sometimes will have to be carried out the garden to go to toilet as she will hold it rather than disturb her sleep. She will go out the garden on her own now and again and just sniff the whole garden go to toilet then come back in.

Out and about: Melia walks well on the lead but can get scared by sudden movements or loud noises

Type of home: Melia needs a quiet home with a laid-back quiet doggy like herself, her new home must be prepared to shower her with love, kisses and cuddles. Another dog is essential as she will grow and learn from another dog.

Melia is fully vaccinated and up to date with her flea and worming treatment. She is currently awaiting neutering.

GRACIE AND MORGAN MUST BE REHOMED TOGETHER

Health Issues: Neither have any ongoing health issues.

Gracie and Morgan are a bonded pair and although different in character are very much dependent on each other. Gracie is the quieter of the two with the sweetest nature, she is still pretty timid and hand shy, but is happy to climb up on your lap and be stroked while there. As a more mature lady she likes nothing better than to snooze on the sofa or armchair, she maybe a little hard of hearing but tends to hear the food bin being opened ok and will let you know if you’re taking too long preparing her meal. Morgan is the cheeky one and is the clown of the outfit keeping you entertained with his antics. He can be timid when meeting you for the first time but once he know you is the bolder of the two and loves nothing better than a game of ball or a tummy tickle, he’s a real bundle of furry fun.

People: Both tend to get a little stressed when you groom them, but this is down to being picked up rather than the groom itself. They will need an understanding family who are happy to let them grow emotionally at their own pace.

Can live with children: They have not been tested, but we are looking for an adult only home for these two lovelies

Can live with cats: Not tested, but as they are Terriers, I would say no small furries.

Can live with other dogs: Gracie doesn’t seem to be worried about any dogs in or out of the home, although she has been known to give a visiting dog a hard stare if they want to sit on foster mum’s knee while she’s sat there. Morgan finds large boisterous dogs scary in or out of the house and can be a bit territorial inside the home. This pair really need to be the only dogs of the house

In the home: Both are pretty much there with house training, we occasionally have the odd accident when left for a length of time. They sleep in the hallway and kitchen now, preferring to cuddle up into one bed. Neither seem to be destructive but will chew the odd toy, so probably a good idea not to leave your best shoes laying around. They have been known to bicker over the odd toy, but foster mum tends to remove the toy and the bickering is short lived. Neither have shown any food aggression towards each other and they are happy to be left alone for up to 4 hours

Out and about: Both travels well in a crate in the car but are not keen to get in. Morgan is more excited about going on a walk and loves it when he gets going but is still very weary of the big wide world. Gracie would prefer the sofa to a walk but is a work in progress. Gracie is not bothered by the vet, just strangers but is most definitely better than Morgan who is really worried at the vet, neither have been aggressive towards the vet.

Type of home: This bonded pair would preferably need a quiet adult only home with no other dogs, where they can be lavished with love and attention.

Both Gracie and Morgan and fully vaccinated, neutered and up to date with flea and worming treatment.

Age: 6 years old

NORA WILL NEED TO BE REHOMED WITH AT LEAST ONE RESIDENT DOG

Dora is a lovely gentle soul who likes nothing better than the simple things in life, a comfortable bed, bowl of food and someone to love. She really is adorable. She has typical spaniel traits – nose down sniffing, never walks in a straight line and really loves to please. She is keen on treats and quick to learn so someone who can put time into training and outside activities would be ideal for Dora.

People: Dora is a bit nervous around people when she first meets them, particularly men. However, if you are quiet and let her come to you, she will allow you to touch her. With foster mum she looks for attention and seeks touch. As she becomes familiar with people, she will wag her tail with pleasure and excitement. She has started to seek touch and likes her chin and tummy tickled. She loves a bath and will stand still for you to groom her.

Can live with children: Dora would be ok with older children (over 8) who would respect that she needs time to get to know someone. She is curious but nervous around busy children.

Can live with cats: Not tested.

Can live with other dogs: Dora has shown little interest in other dogs in the house unless they have something she wants when she will try and take it from them. Dora will need to learn some manners and has a tendency to guard things. However, she also has gained great confidence in the outside world by following the other dog and walks well on the lead with him with no issues.

In the home: Dora is house trained and will now go to the toilet on command. She is quite relaxed in the house but likes to be where foster mum is. She sleeps in her own bed in the bedroom.
Dora has had some issues with guarding her bed, toys, and the sofa. A firm but calm approach has worked so far in terms of correcting this behaviour. She knows ‘ in your bed’ and will go in there when asked too which is how we have redirected the guarding of resources. She can be left for about an hour in the crate with a Kong toy to occupy her without issue. Any longer than she currently starts to get incredibly stressed and howls. Dora loves the garden and will spend all day outside if she can.

Out and about: Dora had travelled in a crate in the back of the car. She has taken a little time to get used to the motion of travel but has not been unwell. Dora has started to enjoy going for a walk and is getting more confidence walking on lead. She uses a collar and harness. The vets have all said she is a darling as I think she just allows them to go whatever.

Type of home: Dora needs a home that understands a spaniel and is willing to continue developing her training and need to be outside. Dora also requires a home where someone is at home for most of the day as she loves to be with someone. I have not seen a particular bond with my dog but she has certainly learnt to be a calm and picks up on his body language and behaviour around things. She would benefit from living in a home with at least one other well balanced dog to help her reach her true potential as a companion and learn to be a dog.

Dora is neutered and up to date with flea and worming treatment. She is currently awaiting second vaccination.

Health Conditions: None

People: Honora is quite hand shy, but she is also good natured, compliant and will allow you to pick her up when needed. Once on your lap she will settle and allows her foster mum clean her ears and eyes and give her a little brush. She is a bit wary but gentle reassuring tones help her to settle and sometimes she will relax and stay on my lap for a little snooze. Due to lockdown she has only had contact with her foster Mum and Dad. She is more bonded with her foster Mum but her tail is starting to wag when she sees her foster Dad too.

Can live with Children: She has not been tested with children but she is still timid especially with quick movements so it would be best for her to be in an adult only home or with older children who would respect her limitations.

Can live with cats: Not tested but her disposition suggests it might be possible.

Can live with other dogs: Honora is currently living with five other dogs two of which are also cavaliers. She is fine with all of them and sleeps with another ex-puppy farm girl cuddled up together in a dog bed. She has a playful side that we are just starting to see she tries to engage in play, but she needs a more confident dog to help show her the way.

In the home: Honora is housetrained and not destructive. She sleeps in the living room in a large playpen with one or two of the other dogs. She does not show interest in toys yet. Honora has nit shown any food aggression and she likes small treats and will take them from your hand albeit very cautiously.

Out and About: Honora has only just had her second vaccination however she needs to gain a little more confidence before lead training can commence. She was extremely nervous at the vets but did allow them to examine her.

Type of home: Honora needs a home with at least one resident dog, she will need a dog that’s well-adjusted friendly dog that will engage with her and teach her how to enjoy life free from the constraints of the puppy farm. She really is a wonderful sweet girl who is already making progress and just needs someone to work slowly with her and another dog to take care of her and give her the confidence she currently lacks.

Is fully vaccinated and up to date with her flea and worming treatment, she is currently awaiting neutering.

CHARLIE WILL NEED TO BE REHOMED WITH AT LEAST ONE RESIDENT DOG

Charlie is a ridiculously cute, independent little dog. He has not had a great life so far and needs lots of love and patience to help him settle and learn to be a happy confident boy, routine is especially important to Charlie to keep him a happy boy. Charlie loves to sit on the sofa at night with his foster mum and watch TV, he will also go into his crate of his own accord. He is starting to learn to enjoy life and is starting to run around and wag his tail when out in the garden playing with his foster friends. He has not shown any bad habits at all, just a bit fearful which he is starting to overcome as he learns to trust.

People: Charlie hasn’t been used to human contact so people can be scary for him. He is now enjoying the company of his foster family, but Charlie needs time and patience, potential adopters must take this into consideration.

Can live with children: Not tested due to lockdown, Charlie likes a peaceful time so probably not ideally suited to living in a home with active children.

Can live with cats: Not tested.

Can live with other dogs: Charlie has not yet been out for a walk and will need lead training. He gets on fine with all the dogs in his foster home and is learning from them all the time.

In the home: Charlie is housetrained and sleeps well through the night in an open crate. Charlie is not destructive and has no interest in toys, we hope this will change in time. He knows when it is food time and has recently started barking, telling his foster mum when he wants dinner. Charlie has not been left alone in his foster home, but he is a very independent chap and would very happily just snuggle up somewhere and not notice you weren’t there.

Out and about: Charlie has not been on walks yet as he is awaiting his vaccinations, he will need lead training. He travels well in the car, he sits happily on the back seat, strapped in with his harness.

Type of home: Charlie would thrive in a quiet home with people who have patience and time. Charlie will need at least one resident dog in his new home that will teach him the ropes and whom he can learn from.

Charlie is up to date with his flea and worming treatment, due to restrictions within our vets he is awaiting second vaccination and neutering.

Summer is a beautiful, loving, energetic little girl. She loves to play with the other dogs in her foster home, she enjoys cuddles, tummy rubs and toys. Her party piece is her ability to smile and grin.

People: Summer absolutely loves everyone she meets and really enjoys being stroked and groomed.

Can live with children: Summer currently lives in a house with a very dog savvy 9-year-old. She is very playful and still a little jumpy with excitement. She does still mouth a little when playing but is learning not too.

Can live with cats: Not cat tested but is inquisitive of the rabbit in her foster home but not aggressive towards her.

Can live with other dogs: Summer loves to greet every dog she meets out on walks and wants to play with them immediately. She is great friend with her 2-year-old GSD foster brother. They sleep together, play together, chase each other in circles. Summers love of dogs means we would like to her be rehomed with another dog that will play with her.

In the home: Summer is particularly good in the house; she is housetrained but will use a puppy pad at night. She sleeps either on the landing with other dogs or in a crate. Summer is amazingly comfortable in a crate. Being a typical Terrier, Summer enjoys demolishing her toys given the chance. Summer eats her food in a crate away from the other dogs as she is much slower than them, she has not shown any food aggression. Summer has only been left with another dog as company and seems fine to be left for short periods of time.

Out and about: Summer loves to go for walks, especially on the beach or in the woods. She had not had any training before she came into rescue, her foster family have started lead training, but this will need to be on going and potential adopters must take this into consideration. Summer travels well in the car and is fine at the vets

Type of home: Summer needs a family that will be able to cater to her physical and mental needs. She is a young active dog that requires daily walks but also requires mental stimulation. She would greatly benefit from socialisation/training classes and possibly scent or agility when she is a little older. She also demands a warm cosy lap to snuggle on and lots of loves and cuddles.

Pip is a loving little pup; he shows his love by giving you licks and kisses. He will follow you around like a little shadow and loves to play with other dogs.

People: Pip will be unsure to begin with but will soon come round and show you affection. He loves sharing his kisses around. He does lack confidence and can be nervous when being picked up, an understanding and patient home is a must, Pip loves being brushed and has been bathed with no issues.

Can live with children: Not tested

Can live with cats: Not tested

Can live with other dogs: Pip is amazingly comfortable around the other dogs in his foster home and will instigate play himself. Pip is nervous when going out for a walk but soon gets into it he hasn’t interacted with other dogs while out yet due to the current situation.

In the home: Pip has settled in well at home and is getting better with house training. He currently sleeps upstairs in a dog bed or on the bed. Pip has not used a crate at present, Pip can be destructive and his favourite past time is chewing things he should not, He is encouraged to choose an antler or squeaky toy instead though. Pip loves his food and will clear his bowl in seconds, He is not aggressive when eating but will try and help himself to the other dogs food so is currently fed separately.

Out and About: He is nervous to start with but soon relaxes and enjoys his outings.  Pip travels well in the car and eventually he falls asleep.

Type of Home: Pip will need a home with at least one resident do to help him build his confidence and teach her that life can be exciting. We would prefer an active family as Pip loves being outside and exploring, the more confident he gets the more he wants to be outside learning about the big wide world.

Gilly is a frightened little girl who is adapting to the big wide world at her own pace. She slept in a crate for a week but has made the transition to a dog bed. Gilly sleeps soundly at night but will wake as soon as someone moves or if she hears a noise, she’s unsure of this can cause her to bark but not for long as she’s only just found her voice.

People: Gilly is still in the early stages of her recue journey and although she is making positive steps forward every day, she still has a long way to go. She will need time and patience from her new humans.

Can live with children: Not tested.

Can live with cats: Gilly lives with a cat in the foster home and is not interested at all.

Can live with other dogs: Gilly absolutely adores other dogs for company and will follow them like a shadow, which is helping her learn about toileting in the garden. Gilly loves to cuddle up to another dog while sleeping, she will need at least one resident dog in her new home for company and reassurance.

In the home: Gilly will jump up on the sofa with no hesitation , she is slowly getting used to household noises but will bark if she unsure of something, house training is ongoing.
Gilly starts off in a dog bed to sleep but ends up on her humans bed with the other dogs. She is crate trained but doesn’t use one at the moment, Gilly has no interest in toys but hopefully this will change as her confidence grows.

Out and about: Gilly has not been out on walks yet.

Type of home: Gilly is looking for a home where someone is around most of the day and there is at least one resident dog.  She will need a quiet patient home that’s willing to work on her confidence but also lets her progress at her own pace.

Age: 2 years old

Breed: Beagle cross Lab

Fostered in: South Wales

Health Issues: None known

Marley is a very loving, cuddly but strong and active dog. He benefits from plenty of obedience training to improve his focus on his handler. Marley has lots of energy and enjoys a run around the fields. He is typical beagle and loves to follow scents, he will have his nose to the ground for an entire walk if he could but a bit of focus training along the way really helps him. Marley loves to snuggle up for a cuddle and loves being stroked and brushed.

People: Can be a bit nervous/unsure at first but then he loves everyone. Once he knows you, he loves being cuddled, brushed.

Can live with children: Not tested. Marley is strong and boisterous though and could easily knock smaller children over.

Can live with Cats: Not tested but he will try to chase a cat if he sees one whilst out.

Can live with other dogs: Marley gets on well with all the other dogs in his foster home and is fine with most dogs he sees when out on walks. He has not actually met any dogs whilst out yet. Whilst Marley likes the dogs in his foster home, he would be happy to be an only dog as long as he has plenty of human contact and is kept busy.

In the home: Marley is house trained and has his food and sleeps in a crate at night. Marley is very active both mentally and physically, so gets bored easily. He can be destructive (chewing things, emptying bins) if bored so needs to be kept mentally stimulated. He loves toys and is not aggressive with them and will happily sharer with the other dogs. Marley also needs lots of obedience training. He has only been fed in his crate currently but does not appear to be food aggressive. Marley has not been left yet, apart from overnight when he sleeps happily and quietly in his crate.

Out and about: Marley is doing well with his recall training which will need to be continued. He loves his walks but can easily be distracted if he sees another dog. He has only travelled in the car to visits to the vets and is fine in the car. He is fine in the vets but very wary being handed over, so a slip lead or half choke collar should be used to avoid him escaping.

Marley is up to date with flea and worming treatment, due to lock down restrictions he is awaiting second vaccination and neutering.

ADOPTED – MISSIES PUPPIES

ALL 5 PUPPIES HAVE BEEN ADOPTED

Mum Missy came into us heavily pregnant and suffering with a Grade six heart murmur. With exceptional care from her foster Mum, Missy was able to give birth to five healthy pups three boys and two girls. All five are typically mischievous and full of fun as you would expect.

We are looking for family homes and they will need someone around most of time. Potential adopters will be expected to undertake puppy classes and provide socialisation one restrictions are lifted. They will need homes that would offer love and boundaries to ensure they grow not only physically well but emotionally too. Puppies are a life time commitment and need much more attention in the first few months of their lives, this must be taken into consideration before applying.

Name: Jack & Digby

Age: Yorkshire Terrier cross and Shih Tzu

Breed: 3 and 5 years old.

Fostered in:  South Wales

Health Issues: Digby needs a grain free diet due to itchy skin.

Jack and Digby are a bonded pair who must be rehomed together. They have both settled well into their foster home and are delightful. Jack is the more active of the pair and a little more confident where as Digby is quieter but complement each other perfectly.

People: They both love cuddles, fuss and being brushed. Both dogs are easy to handle and the perfect house guests.

Can live with children: Not tested

Can live with cats: No

Can live with other dogs: Both dogs need to be rehomed together, carful introductions with other dogs are needed. This will need to be done once lock down restrictions are lifted.

In the home: After some initial nervousness they both happily go out for toilets. They sleep in kitchen/hall’ they have a bed each but invariably sleep together all night with no issues. The absolutely love their food and are twice a day with no issues such as aggression. They are just beginning to play with their toys, preferring a game of tug of war with each other. On the rare occasions I have been out there hasn’t been any issues while they are left alone.

Out and about: Walking on the lead is a work in progress as they haven’t been able to go outside as much as we would like to assess them properly. They have reacted nervously to people and other animals but easily reassured, this is something that will need to be worked on and taken into consideration before applying to adopt them.

Type of home: Their favourite place is one each side of their foster mum on the sofa, Jack regularly creeps onto her lap and plays havoc with her knitting! They are no trouble and have slipped into our routine easily. Both dogs are easy to look after and extremely affectionate.

Potential adopters would be expected to travel to South Wales to meet them.

Health Issues: Morag had skin issues when she first came into rescue. It is now a lot better and being managed with special shampoo and cream which will probably be ongoing.

Morag is a gorgeous quiet girl who has a wonderful nature and just loves to have human company. She follows her foster mum around the house and garden and is never more than a few feet away. She is still quite nervous of sudden noises and movements and even though she wags her tail to greet you it stops as soon as you touch her. She likes nothing better than sleeping beside her favourite human on the sofa or in bed as long as she can see you.

People: Morag loves people and wags her tail to greet you. She is happy to be touched gently but is nervous of sudden movements. She is happy to be groomed and bathed with no fuss at all.

Can live with children: She is happy around older children who are dog savvy.

Can live with cats: She hasn’t met cats or other small animals.

Can live with other dogs: She always wants to greet other dogs out on walks. She is not aggressive at all with any dog big or small. She will run with the other two dogs in her foster home but other than that’s she isn’t interested in them. When out walking she would rather be with her foster mum than with the other dogs. Morag will need to be rehomed with at least one resident dog.

In the home: Morag is very good in the home and she is house trained. She sometimes barks at the TV especially if there is a dog on there or a siren. She has good recall from the garden. She sleeps in the bedroom in a dog bed. She sadly doesn’t play with any toys. She eats her food straightaway but is not at all aggressive with it. She is fine being left in the kitchen for a few hours and just sleeps in her bed.

Out and about: Morag likes to go for short walks and is good on the lead. She is getting used to the car by going on short journeys. She is not keen to go in the car and doesn’t relax very well but I think she will get used to this the more she does this. Morag is good at the vets.

Type of home: Morag needs a home where she can have the attention she so deserves. She just wants to be loved and taken for a little walk daily. We would like her to go to a home where there is someone around most of the day as Morag loves people.

Morag is neutered, fully vaccinated and up to date with flea and worming treatment.

Name: Flora

Age: 5 years old

Breed: Shih tzu x poodle

Fostered in: South Wales

Health issues: Flora has no known health issues

FLORA WILL NEED TO BE REHOMED WITH AT LEAST ONE RESIDENT DOG.

Flora is an ex breeding girl. She is fully house trained and is a gorgeous well-behaved little girl who is slowly learning to trust her humans. When flora arrived, she was not happy around humans and would run to safety if you even looked at her. She is slowly getting better around humans now but will still run if she feels threatened or caught off guard.

People: Flora has bonded very well with her foster mum. She will scratch her leg to be picked up and will follow her around and watch her constantly. Her foster mum can pick her up and cuddle her with no problems. Flora is not as keen on her foster dad though and is wary of him touching her and approaching her. She did make a few growly noises at him when he approached her for her first few weeks, but she is now very slowly getting better. She’s definitely a woman’s girl. Flora is happy for her foster mum to brush her and touch her but not as keen on anyone else getting close to her.

Can live with children: Flora has not been around any children as none live in her foster home, but it’s probably best if she is not rehomed with young children as they may scare her with their energy and loudness. Flora would be better rehomed in an adult only home or a family with teenage children.

Can live with cats: Not tested.

Can live with Dogs: Flora lives with her foster brother,she pays no attention what so ever to him and what he’s doing. She will often take herself in the other room away from her foster parents and foster dog and sleep in her bed. Flora would not be bothered as an only dog as long as she was not being left alone and someone was home most of the time. She does like her own company and company of her foster mum when it suits her, but if rehomed with a resident dog she could also learn or rely on them when scared or unsure.

In the home: Flora is fully house trained and sleeps in the kitchen on her bed. She had a crate when she first arrived but was found fast asleep outside the crate on her blanket in the mornings, so it was taken away. Flora is not destructive and now and again she will attempt to play with her toys. She will throw them one by one up into the air till the basket is empty, her foster mum says when she does this you can see her cheeky little side bursting to come out and this makes her smile. Flora loves to eat and eats well. Flora has no toy or food aggression and can be left short periods with no problems.

Out and about: Unfortunately, due to restrictions with Covid – 19 Flora is not up to date with her vaccinations, she has not yet been on a proper walk. Her foster mum has walked her up and down the drive on her lead though and she walks beautiful.

Type of home: Flora would suit a home with just adults or a family with teenage children. Young children would scare her, and she would find it hard to flourish. With the right family flora could possibly go as an only dog or preferably a family with a laid back gentle dog that would not be in her face or expect her to play as she is quite independent and likes her own or human company (When it suits her).

Flora is up to date with her flea and worming treatment but dur to lock down restrictions she is awaiting neutering and vaccination.

Truffle is a lovely little dog. She took a few days to settle in and is a bit nervous of new people, once she gets to know you, she loves lots of cuddles. Truffle loves to give kisses; she is starting to play with her doggie brother and sisters. She likes to gather all the toys in her bed and at first didn’t want to share but is now fine with sharing. She loves her food and is an excellent little guard dog. She takes a little while to come around to new people she is a little nervous, but once she comes around she is very affectionate and loves a cuddle , she does seem too come around more quickly to women

Health Issues: Grade 2 heart murmur

Can live with Children: Not tested

Can Live with Cats: Not tested

Can Live with other dogs: She is fine with other dogs, she loves to cuddle with her foster brother. Truffle needs to be rehomed with at least one resident dog.

Truffle will need the company of another dog to teach her how to be a do and help her to become a more confident and social girl.

In the home: Truffle is toilet training during the day but does have the odd accident at night now. She sleeps mainly in a crate with door open but sometimes will sleep on foster mums bed , eating well , can be a little obsessed with toys but is getting better at sharing, Truffle is fine to be left for short periods of time and hasn’t been destructive.

Out and About: She is fine traveling in car but has only been on short journeys, she is fine in the vets and is getting better on the lead she will need ongoing training with walks.

Type of Home: I believe truffle needs a quiet home with one other dog to help her learn doggie things and someone to give her lots of kisses cuddles and loads of love and attention.

Truffle is Fully Vaccinated, Spayed and up to date with Flea and Worming Treatment.

Harry the lamb, is a sweet gentle boy, who is very loving. He loves dogs and people and we feel he needs to be rehomed with another dog that would happily play and be Harrys friend. Harry is one amazing little boy, he will make you so happy with his little sounds, his bouncy lamb like behaviour.

People: Harry loves all people, he will bark a little on meeting someone new, but in a friendly way, he craves attention and loves cuddles.

Can live with children: Harry has not been tested with very young children, he has been around children of 8-year-old, providing they are happy to show him love then he is fine.

Can live with cats: Not tested

Can live with other dogs: Harry has come from a home of no other dogs but seeing how much he enjoys the company of dogs it is essential he has another dog in his new home.

In the home: Harry is housetrained and will bounce by the door to let you know he wants to go out. Harry sleeps on his foster mums’ bed at night and on the sofa or dogs’ beds during the day. He isn’t aggressive in any way. Harry can be left for up to 3 hours on occasions but would rather someone who is home most of the day.

Out and about: Harry is learning to walk on a lead, his recall is improving, and he loves being out on walks, he is very inquisitive and enjoys sniffing and playing with other dogs. At the vets Harry is a star when getting a health check.

Type of home: Harry would thrive with another dog and humans to give him lots of attention, he is a very affectionate and would need a family happy to give him love and cuddles when he demands them.

Doris is a 7-year-old shichon. Doris is a quiet dog who’s starting to learn to trust humans again. Doris loves to be outside running around the garden with the other dogs. She doesn’t bark much. She is starting to trust more and will jump up onto the sofa to sit next to you. She sleeps through the night. She will follow

Health Issues: Teeth need to be checked by vet (this will be done post lockdown)

People: Doris is still unsure about being touched but with time she’ll get there. She has not been groomed yet.

Can live with other dogs: Doris would suit a home with another dog. She follows other dogs around but stays behind. She never takes the lead. Walks ok on lead with others.

In the home. Housetraining is going ok, she’s getting there. She sleeps upstairs either on the bed or in a bed next to me. We’ve not used a crate; she has not been destructive. She doesn’t really play with toys but does loves a bone to chew. Doris enjoys her food and not aggressive. She’s very nervous but finds comfort in the other dogs.

Out and about: Doris travelled well when we picked her up, she walks on the lead when on short walks, but nervous.

Doris is not neutered or fully vaccinated yet due to restrictions regarding Covid-19 but is up to date with flea and worming treatment.

ESTHER NEEDS TO BE REHOMED WITH AT LEAST ONE RESIDENT DOG.

Esther was a hand from an unsold litter.  She is a wonderful little puppy who despite her lack of socialisation is surprisingly affectionate and loving. She is a delight to foster and one of the cutest and sweetest natured puppies we have ever had the pleasure of looking after.

People: Sarah came from a puppy farm she was quite friendly from the get-go although she would shy away a little if you overpowered her. She has been with us almost two weeks and her delightful little character is starting to shine through. She enjoys being cuddled and puts her paws up on your legs so that you can bend down and envelop her in your arms. She is very compliant and will let you pick her up and will snuggle into you. She has been bathed, had her ears and eyes cleaned and brushed with no problem. She loves her foster dad as much as her foster Mum and will run to greet him when he comes into the room.

Can live with children: Due to lockdown she hasn’t had the opportunity to meet children but she is such a sweet dog that we think she would be fine to be rehomed with children providing they don’t overpower her and understand that she is not a toy.

Can live with cats: Not tested

Can live with Dogs: Esther is being fostered with one of her siblings Sarah and they are very alike. Their foster Mum had to put different collars on them so that she could tell the difference. The girls adore each other and play tussle and do zoomies in the garden. She is also being fostered with two resident older dogs who don’t really engage with her. She is very respectful of them and knows not to annoy them with her puppy ways. She is very submissive and approaches them by commando crawling on her tummy which is so cute to see.

In the home: Esther has been clean at night from the second day she arrived. She had the odd accident inside at first but goes outside all the time now. The weather helps as she is in the garden a lot of the time. She sleeps with her sister in a dog bed inside a playpen at night. they generally sleep right through. She gets so excited to see everyone in the morning her body wiggles and dances. She goes outside to toilet but quickly whizz back for more wiggly cuddles. Being a pup she does like to chew things and has a penchant for stealing stones from the garden pond to chew. Potential owners will need to watch for wires or anything that her little mouth might find interesting to chew. She loves toys and her kong. She is neither food nor toy aggressive in fact she doesn’t seem to have a harmful bone in her body. Even though she is a puppy she is a wonderful little houseguest Her puppy ways are to be expected but are by no means over the top and difficult to manage.

Out and about: Esther is not yet fully vaccinated so has not been able to go out for walks so will need training in this area. She was sick in the short journey home from the vet but could have been a reaction to her injection. The vet said she was very well behaved.

Type of home: Esther adores being with her sister and just loves playing all the time with her. I think she needs to be rehomed with another resident kind and playful dog who would be able to help continue with her socialisation. She is a typical pup in that she needs lots of attention and stimulation so someone who is home most of the day would be desirable. She would probably be fine with children who are dog savvy, but she would be happy with adults who have the time to continue her training. She is a wonderful little pup with lots of love to give and will continue to flourish in a home where her humans are committed to giving her their time and attention and importantly their love,

Esther is up to date with her flea and worming treatments and has also had her first vaccination.

Name: Branch

Age: 3 years old.

Breed: Chihuahua x Yorkshire Terrier.

Fostered in: South Wales.

Health Issues: none known.

Branch is a super little dog and a proper little gentleman who puts his front paws on your knees to ask to come up for cuddles. He runs around the garden playing with his foster dog brothers at supersonic speed. He is house trained barring a wee at night which he does on the puppy pad. He meets and greets other dogs nicely when they come to my home. He is a gentle boy but wary of small children, mainly due to the fact they usually want to chase him because he is very small. He loves all people and is in his element when cuddling on someone’s lap. Branch is a lovely boy who would fit in to most homes but doesn’t like being left on his own. His previous home had quite a few dogs and he is used to that company! Branch doesn’t walk on lead or off lead outside the garden he lays down closes his eyes and plays dead. This is going to need persistent, so a home that’s willing to work on this is essential.

People:

Can live with Children: 8 years plus

Can live with Dogs: Branch is great with most dogs, he seems to prefer females so would be better suited in a home with female dogs.

Can live with cats: Not tested

In the home Branch sleeps on a dog bed in his foster mums bedroom but has recently learned to jump up on the bed. He would happily sleep in another room with a resident dog. He is house trained 99.9% but uses a puppy pad to wee at night. He isn’t destructive or guarding he will growl if another dog goes near his food but fine with humans near him or removing the food. He can be left 4 hours or more with another dog for company. Branch is not crate trained.

Out and about: Refuses to walk outside at the moment, this will need addressing with plenty of patience.

Type of home: Branch will need a home where someone is around most of the day, a home who is willing to work on his lead training and no young children.

Branch is neutered and up to date with flea and worming treatment. Vaccinations will commence once lock down restrictions are lifted.

Can live with Children: There are no children in her foster home, but we would consider a home with dog savvy children.

Can live with Cats: Yes

Can live with Dogs: Darcy loves being around other dogs. She will follow and chase them in the house and garden. She also instigates play, she loves company.

In the home: She is full of life, being a typical puppy. Housetraining is going well; she does still have accidents but getting better. She sleeps through most of the night and has not used a crate. A little destructive but she’s a pup. She loves playing with toys, chewing bones or balls. Darcy loves her food and knows when it’s due, she lets you know if you’ve forgotten, she can be a little food aggressive and will go around all the other bowls to make sure they’re empty, but with careful training his can all be remedied. Due to current situation not been able to leave her alone in the house.

Out and About: Not been on any walks yet but travelled well when we collected her.

Type of home: I think she’d suit a family home full of life and activity.
