Poppy

Only Dog

No Children

Fostered in:Crewe

Poppy is a tiny chihuahua cross who is a waggy tailed meerkat when she knows you, she is
always happy to curl up on your lap and is a little shadow that follows you
everywhere. Poppy is an extremely nervous little dog when she firsts meets you
and so needs an understanding owner that will work with Poppy to develop trust
and the bond with her. Once she has made that bond, she is the happiest dog to
see you and wants to be wherever you are. Poppy loves dancing on her back legs
to get attention and is such a fun little dog when she trusts you.

Poppy is nervous of strangers initially and will bark when she’s unsure but once she
knows you she is happy being touched and groomed but needs an owner that isn’t
going to put pressure on her especially to start with. Poppy needs time to
trust new people and may always be wary of people she does not see often

Due to poppy’s nervous nature she cannot he homed with children and ideally wouldn’t have
visiting children to the home unless a separate area was made for poppy as she
had had bad experiences with children in the past and is very wary of them.

Poppy currently lives with a cat with no problems

Poppy is not destructive at all, she does suffer from separation stress which is improving
in her foster home now that she’s settled, but any prospective home needs to be
patient as this may come back when she moves to unfamiliar surroundings. Poppy currently
sleeps upstairs as she is very attached to whoever she trusts. Poppy does not
really play with toys but is a fun dog who will play with people and is very
food orientated so is quick to learn tricks and play food games. Poppy will
bark at unfamiliar noises this is due to her insecurities, but this is also
settling in her foster home as she gets used to everything.

Poppy walks well on a lead and loves going out travelling to and new places for good
walkies is always welcomed. Poppy is very nervous at the vets and will need
careful handling and positive encouragement.

Poppy needs a home that is experienced with nervous small breeds dogs, chihuahua experience
preferably but more important is a patient home that will work with poppy to
overcome her fears and realise that new people aren’t scary. She is the most
loving dog when she trusts you and behind her nervous behaviours, she is the
most wonderful companion. She needs someone that is going to make her the focus
in their lives and allow her to be their shadow until she is confident enough
to spend time in her own company.

Poppy is a very small dog but needs someone with a very big heart to work with her to see
the wonderful dog that her foster mum gets to see now and not be put off by her
initial reaction to people she doesn’t know. Poppy will make such a lovely
companion for an adult home and for people home most of the day.

Neutered

Microchipped, Vaccinated and up to date with her flea and worming

Potential adopters would be expected to travel to Crewe to meet her.

Needs resident calm dog

Adult only home

Bronte is a 7-8-year-old Bichon who is still a very shy and quiet lady who likes peace and quiet and lots of home comforts. She has become attached to her foster mum and will happily doze the day away curled up by her side as she work from home. She is in foster with another dog and older children but in all honesty I think she would prefer the peace and quiet of a home with no children. Bronte is going to take time to fully come out of her shell and she will need forever humans who can help her with this. She has been on several walks and walks well on the lead, albeit reluctantly for the first few yards. Her foster family is working hard on building her confidence and getting her used to being around people for the first time, possibly ever, in her life.

Bronte tolerates being groomed and gets better every time. She is nervous but not difficult.

Bronte is in a foster home with a male, neutered dog and is fine with him. Still waiting to see if they play or cuddle up together but she is indifferent to him (most females are, much to his frustration!)

Bronte has shown little interest in toys. She eats well, has a good appetite and eats alongside her foster brother no problems. She has been left for an hour when we popped to the supermarket and she was fine. she likes to sleep in her bed, on the sofa or in your bed if you let her!

She travels in the car well with no problems or sickness. she has been out on walks and is reluctant at first but then gains confidence and loves to strut her stuff. She has been fine meeting other dogs on walks also.

Bronte would suit a quiet, affectionate home where she can relax and enjoy the company of her humans.

Lola & Felix

Lola is 9 months old and is a little bit of a drama queen, and a chatty one at that. She is crazy and playful just like her brother in crime. She likes to sit on a window sill or chest of drawers in the sun for a snooze. Her favourite thing is to play with her fur brother chasing, running, play fighting and when they have worn each other out they will snuggle and snooze together. Lola has been outside on a harness and has been fine. Oh, and she will do anything for some Dreamies.

Felix is 5 months old and the sweetest little kitten. He loves to snuggle with a human, or with his fur sister Lola. He’s a crazy, playful kitten too and loves to chase a bell, ball, piece of foil, piece of plastic….well anything that you throw for him really. He’s fascinated by water and waits for his foster mum to get out of the shower so he can chase the drips. He’s just a typical, adorable kitten. He has been on a harness outside but wasn’t at all keen.

They are currently living with a calm cat savvy dog and have been fine

Shadow is approx 4 years old and a real character. He can be a bit nervous in new surroundings and with new people, but loves to have a good explore. Shadow will often ‘talk’ as he wanders round just to let you know where he is. He loves company although he’s still learning how to settle for more than 5 minutes (think he is just excited all the time). Food is always a hit with Shadow and he will grab whatever scraps he can get his paws on, so watch your plates! Shadow was kept as an indoor cat but he is so interested in exploring we’re sure he would love a home with access to outdoor space.

Bing Crosby

Calm resident dog

Sensible children 7 and over

Fostered in South Wales

Bing is a 4 year old King Charles Cavalier who is a gentle giant although being larger than your average cavalier, he doesn’t seem to think he’s a big boy and jumps around like a little lamb. He is a loving boy and enjoys lots of cuddles from his foster mum. He is an ex breeding stud dog that lived outside all his life so is now enjoying the finer things in life. Sofas and humans’ bed.

Bing can be unsure of sudden movements and can get overwhelmed backing away, but with patience and reassurance he will come to you. He is a laid back boy who is very loving and dopey and loves to know everything that’s going on. He can be frightened and unsure around young loud children and will keep his distance but is fine with older calmer children.

Bing lives in a foster home with 3 other dogs and has never shown any aggression but likes to get his nose in anything that’s going on always the first in line when everyone is called so he doesn’t miss out. He prefers to snuggle up to the female dogs in his foster home rather than the male. He has not been tested with cats or small furries.

Bing will jump up on the settee to get close to you and will try to fit into the smallest gaps but is also quite happy to take himself off to the other end of the settee and snuggle up next to one of the girls. He’s starting to learn to play now and will have a funny five minutes running around playing with toys. He’s desperate to play and is slowly learning. Bing is pretty much house trained but can mark if he smells other unusual smells around the home but only now and again. Bing sleeps on his foster mums’ bed and loves to be snuggled up close to her sleeping all night. If left downstairs he will cry and pace.
He loves his food and eats well. He is used to being left for a few hours at a time with his foster siblings without any problems and will give you a huge welcome when you return.

Bing is unsure on the lead and if on his own will stand still and not walk, but with time and patience and help following the other dogs he will come out of his shell and enjoys exploring.

Bing needs a home with another resident dog preferably a female, or a laid-back male that likes to play. Bing would be fine with calm and gentle children 7 and over and would love to be walked regularly every day to explore the outside world. He’s very curious of the outside and has energy to burn but just needs lots of reassurance and patience so a family which has the time to spend with him is a must.

Calm resident dog preferably a female

Sensible children 7 and over

Family willing to spend time getting to know him

Microchipped, Vaccinated and up to date flea and wormer

Children aged 7 and over

Active family

Another active playful fur baby as a companion

Fostered in South Wales

Tommy is a handsome 12 week old ball of fluff that will grow into a Bichon Frise. He is confident and playful loving nothing more than playing tug of war and chewing his toys. He is an inquisitive pup who enjoys exploring the garden, playing with other dogs in his foster home and meeting new people who will fuss him.

Tommy loves a cuddle but being a baby he also likes his own space and will happily spend time with his toys alone.
He has been left alone with the other dogs in the house for a couple of hours at a time and has been fine and gives a lovely greeting on your return!

Currently his favourite hobby is pinching shoes and as a typical pup he likes to chew everything! Distracting him with high interest toys works a treat! Tommy enjoys zooming around the garden and chasing balls but hasn’t got the hang of ‘fetch’ yet!

He sleeps in the kitchen with the other dogs at night and is mostly using the puppy pads to toilet but this is a work in progress and there are understandably some accidents. He eats well and enjoys an occasional treat showing no food aggression.
He travels well in a crate in the car.

Tommy is very sociable and likes to be handled. He has behaved very well at bath time and has enjoyed being groomed.

Tommy has been introduced to children of different ages but we feel children aged 7 and over would be best for this active fluff ball. He has enjoyed playing with them and being cuddled.

Tommy is sociable and playful with other dogs in the house but hasn’t met any other dogs outside as he is too young for walks. He has behaved very well at the vets.

Tommy has a great temperament for a baby but would benefit from another playful fur baby to continue his education. He is going to need an active home who have enough time to spend training him to be the perfect pet.

Candy

Resident calm Dog

Secure Garden

Children 10 and over

Quiet Home

Candy is a happy 5 year old cocker spaniel girl who always greets you with a waggy tail. She loves to come to you for gentle fusses. She has been in her foster home for a little while now and they are starting to see glimpses of the playful dog she will hopefully become. She is currently enjoying pinching items you’ve dropped and running off with it. Her favourite items at the moment are socks or spoons. She loves her food, particularly ham or chicken treats.

Candy has spent a lot of years on a puppy farm so is understandably a little nervous of humans who move towards her quickly but is more than happy to approach you for a fuss. She would be frightened of noisy children running around or shouting but gentle calm children would be fine in her new home. Candy needs at least one gentle dog in her new home to show her how to be a pet. She has not been tested with cats or smaller furries but may be fine with sensible introductions.

Candy is a very easy dog to have in the home, she’s very quiet but there are glimpses of her personality starting to show. She loves her bed but as yet hasn’t tried to get on the sofa. She’s virtually there with toilet training as long as she has regular access to a garden. She’s happy to be left for a few hours as long as she’s with another dog. If you drop something on the floor she will come to investigate and then run off with her new found treasure.

Candy needs more practise at lead walking. She’s happy to trot around a field or somewhere quiet with another dog or to have a good sniff but it’s currently just getting her used to the lead rather than going for a long walk

Candy would like a quiet home with at least one other dog. A garden to potter around in and a comfy bed to sleep on. Gentle cuddles and some tasty treats are a must for this beautiful girl.

DOTTY

RESIDENT DOG

DOG SAVVY CHILDREN OVER 7

ACTIVE FAMILY

Dotty is a charming, happy, energetic and loving 5 year old little Pug. She has an amazing zest for life and deserves a home with lots of activity, walks and fun. Dotty adores humans and loves nothing better than to cuddle up and be tickled. She will use her paw to tell you to continue if you dare to stop smoothing her.

Dotty can live with dog savvy children preferably 7 years or over.

Dotty will say hello to other dogs on walks but is far more interested in walking and smells than meeting new dogs. She lives with 2 other dogs in her foster home and loves to snuggle up and play. She lives with 3 dog savvy cats and is fine with them.

Dotty is completely housetrained. She sometimes uses an open crate to sleep in out of choice in the daytime and at night sleeps either in a bed next to foster mum or snuggled up on foster mums bed. Dotty hasn’t shown any interest in toys but loves to play with other dogs and humans. Dotty has a great appetite and though not food aggressive will try to finish off the other dogs and cats food if given a chance, so care must be taken not to allow her to overeat. Dotty has been left with the other dogs for up to 3 hours at a time and was fine.

Dotty has a half hour walk in the morning before breakfast and an hour walk in the evening before dinner. She is a joy on walks, she has loads of energy and gets very excited before and after her walks. She needs time to calm down after walks before her meals so sometimes goes in the crate for half an hour to settle. Dotty travels in a crate in the car and will settle quickly and is well behaved at the vet.

Dotty deserves a home where there are humans around for most of the day but is fine to be left for a few hours as long as she has other doggy company and a walk before and after to burn off excess energy. Dotty can live with or without children, she has never shown any aggressiveness to humans or dogs or cats. Dotty is an extremely loving girl, who wants to cuddle and kiss and follow her humans around. Her new home must be prepared to give lots of cuddles and playtime every day to this gorgeous girl.

RUBY

RESIDENT DOG OF SIMILAR SIZE

CHILDREN 10 AND OVER

QUIET HOME

Ruby is a very gentle and loving 5 year old Jack Russel Terrier who loves cuddles and being close to her human. She likes a gentle and calm atmosphere and will happily sleep snuggled up on the sofa with a cushion and blanky. Ruby loves being in the garden exploring and has recently started discovering toys and playing with them.

She finds big dogs a bit too boisterous to play with but is not scared of them, she tolerates them and cuddles up with them but would prefer just one dog her own size to be her best friend. Ruby is very quiet and not a barky dog. She needs time to learn to be a pet and will need an owner with a lot of patience to let her learn at her own pace. Ruby can be wary around men and is more comfortable with women. Gentle introductions to men need to be made slowly and positively. Ruby adores cuddles, and loves being stroked under her chin. She can be a bit wary if anyone tries to touch the top of her head.

Ruby is only comfortable with older children 10 and over who will give her the space to come to them and not be crowded, she does not like noisy or busy environments. Ruby has not been out for walks yet; she will need a lot of patient lead training as she currently freezes if put on a lead. She is not tested with cats or small furries.

Ruby’s toilet training is ongoing and she is happy to toilet in the garden with encouragement. If she needs to go overnight she will use a puppy pads if put down. Ruby is happy to sleep on the sofa, snuggled up with her blanket and the other dogs. She likes her routine and is quiet all night. She is happy to go in a crate if necessary and will often settle in an open crate. She eats well but will leave her food if another dog approaches her, so she is fed away from the others. Ruby is not destructive and is happy to have a comfy bed and cuddles. She has only been left for an hour at most and has been fine.

Ruby is very wary of loud noises or too much activity. She has plastic bowls as the sound of metal ones scares her. She needs to be acclimatised to normal household activities. She is fine in the car and sits on the passenger seat with her seat belt harness and hardly moves.

Ruby needs a quiet and relaxed home with humans there most of the time. She would love a friendly and confident dog her size to be her best friend and mentor. She would love a garden with lots of areas to explore. Her humans would need to be patient, confident, understanding and full of love and cuddles for her to help progress her adapting to home life. Her primary carer should be female who will help Ruby to trust males.

Well hello Nori and Nessa!

Nessa is the rather sizable white rabbit and Nori is a Netherland Dwarf. These beautiful girls are approximately 8 years old and, although they might not look like the typical bunny pairing, they have been bonded forever and absolutely adore each other.

These girls had been well loved in their old home but sadly circumstances changed and they came into the rescue in July.  They had previously been kept outside, but have been inside in their foster home and have adjusted well to it, becoming confident and inquisitive and enjoying indoor life.  As the weather is getting colder, they will need to be kept indoors over winter at least.

Like most rabbits, neither of them are keen on being picked up and held but are more than happy to come over for a fuss – obviously on their terms!  They love cwtching up and grooming each other.

They are very good hay eaters.  Both girls are spayed and are up to date with their vaccinations.

If you think you can give Nori and Nessa the perfect forever home they are looking for, just click on this link: ADOPTION FORM

Shayla

Resident dog of similar size

No children

Shayla is a very sweet 8-Year-old Chi Cross Yorkie who loves nothing more than a cuddle. She is not pushy and waits for permission to jump up either on a lap or the sofa. She is cute both in looks and personality.

A recent health check at the vets discovered that she has a grade 1 heart murmur which is not causing any problems and she was a very good girl at the vets.

Shayla is shy compared to the other resident dogs, but has a lovely unassuming personality. She likes being groomed and the attention this brings.

Shayla is living with 3 other resident dogs and has always lived with dogs of similar size. Shayla needs a home with a resident dog of a similar size. Her house training is a work in progress but Shayla is happy to go outside when encouraged.

She has not currently been on any walks and has been enjoying her time decompressing in the garden in the sun.

Shayla loves company but doesn’t need to be on your lap all the time; she is happy just to be on the sofa close. However, it doesn’t take much encouragement for her to cuddle up. Shayla would probably be best in a home where someone is about most of the day, has a secure garden and no children.

Lincoln

Lincoln is around 5 or 6 years old and loves attention and fuss. He will happily sit on your lap for hours so don’t expect to get much housework done with this cutie pie around. He also likes to have a chat over your morning tea or coffee and discuss taking over the world and you plans for the day. He especially likes fuss around his neck and it doesn’t take much to get him purring!

Lincoln is tripawd so can be a bit off balance occasionally but this doesn’t stop him from getting around the house. He loves to play and his favourite thing is to throw toy mice around or chase a laser pointer! Lincoln needs multiple scratch posts in his home as he likes to use them a lot.

Lincoln would love if his human could be around for most of the day as he likes to supervise whatever his human is doing. Lincoln would be okay with older cat savvy children who will leave him alone when he walks away.

Lincoln has a bit of a penchant for sitting in the middle of busy roads, so will have to be rehomed in a quiet area with low traffic or a house with a nice catio. Lincoln would not like to be an indoor cat as he loves the outside world.

Neutered 5 or 6 years old

Needs a catio or to live in a really quiet area with very little traffic

Oh, my goodness – a perfect little girl! It’s never been more true that good things come in small packages. And Tribble might be small but she is mighty… full of energy and curiosity.

We try not to use the word cute in our rabbit posts as, let’s be honest, all rabbits are cute! But Tribble is the epitome of cute – from the tip of her tail, to the beautiful white tip of her nose.

Tribble is an 8 month old Netherland Dwarf. She is a bundle of energy and loves to run and jump, giving the most impressive binkies for someone so small. She’s into everything, must know what’s going on and then wants to be part of it. She was timid around people when she first came in, but is really gaining in confidence in her fabulous foster home.

The only problem having a Tribble in your life is that you’ll spend far too much of your time watching her having fun. As with all rabbits, Tribble will need a lot of space to do those impressive binkies, with lots of toys to keep her stimulated. And of course, a boy-bun friend to share all the excitement of life with. We can’t work out whether she needs a calming influence or a similarly crazy bunny to keep up with her!

If you think you can keep up with this little cutie, we’ll guarantee that she will be the perfect bundle of fun for you and your boy-bun. She has been spayed and vaccinated so is all set to find her forever home. Just follow this link to start the process of giving this little one the fabulous life she deserves: Adoption Form

Wilf and Eccles

Homed together

Bulldog experienced home with children over 10 years old

Wilf and Eccles are our pair of bonded Bulldogs that need to be homed together in a Bulldog experienced home. They are 3 years and 9 months

They have a wonderful friendly temperament and enjoy lots of cuddles. Eccles loves to play with her toys and especially her rags. Both are very relaxed and spend a fair bit of time asleep. They are fairly quiet in the house and garden with minimal barking. Both have no long-term health issues.

Both dogs love being made a fuss of and will wiggle their bums in excitement when someone calls them for attention. Both dogs also enjoy being groomed. They have been great when friends have visited the foster home and have been around older dog savvy children.

They get on well with each other and haven’t had any issues when they have seen other dogs but this has been very limited interaction and they will need further socialisation. They have not been tested with cats and smaller animals.

Both dogs are house trained and have been sleeping in an open plan living/dining area. They have a bed but have preferred to sleep on the rug, floor or sometimes sofa. Both have been fine when left during the night and haven’t showed any signs of being destructive at all.

Wilf eats fine with no issues whether it is wet or dry food. Eccles eats a mix of wet and dried food fine but dry food alone does need to be soaked in a small amount of water for a short while.

Wilf travels well as does Eccles however she can get a little nervous and shake for a short while but she is fine with some reassurance. She can get a little heavy with her breathing whilst travelling but this may also be down to her weight.

This gorgeous pair need a home that can give them lots of love and will continue their education in meeting other dogs and helping them to lose more weight. They would also need a secure garden where they can sit and enjoy the breeze on their faces.

Gracie Fields

NEEDS A HOME WITH RESIDENT DOG

Gracie is a lovely 3 year old westie girl who’s beginning to show a great deal of character. She can be boisterous but not aggressive and is beginning to explore and play with other dogs and toys. She eats and sleeps well and is learning to take her turn with the others in the queue for treats. She’s finding her bark and told another dog off for coming into her house the other day but soon accepted them.

Gracie has a skin condition and a slight heart condition but no treatment is required. She gets on very well with all humans after gentle introductions and will roll on her back to have her tummy tickled. She has been bathed and groomed in her foster home and was a good girl. She’s started to follow her foster mum into the kitchen and has licked the back of her legs but will cower if approach going flat to the ground. Once she knows you, she will allow you to pick her up and place her on the sofa for cuddles with foster mum and the other dogs where she will settle.

Gracie has mainly met older children and seems fine with them after introductions. She is not keen on noisy boisterous humans of any age.

Gracie has a foster brother and sister and gets on well with both. Outside the home she is wary of dogs coming towards her but is fine if they are calm. She is not too keen on larger and/or boisterous dogs and will try to run away from them but reassurance and allowing her to sit while they go past has helped her with this. She met an older male Westie the other day who she was happy to play with and she wore him out! I think she would prefer a companion dog as she loves to interact with dogs particularly of her own size.

The resident cat has given her the paws up as she did not react when he head bumped her so I would say she is fine with cats so long as niceties are observed. She has not been tested with any other small furries.

She sleeps downstairs in her bed un-crated and as yet hasn’t shown an interest in sleeping with her humans upstairs but this may change as she really does like to be with the other dogs. She has one wee on a puppy pad during the night and is clean during the day. Being a terrier she has started to play quite boisterously with soft toys killing and destuffing them. She likes to run after her foster brother when he chases a ball or hoops but doesn’t know what to do with them if she gets there first. She’s not destructive in any other way. She eats well and comes when called for her food almost from day one but is not food or toy aggressive. She has been left alone with the other dogs for a few hours and has been fine.

She walks well on her lead and is now on a dropped training lead in a free run areas so she can chase and roll on grass which she loves to do. It might be accidental that she often rolls quite near to fox poo but she does have nawty foster siblings as a ‘roll model’! She travels in the boot of the car restrained with her foster family and has been fine. She was spayed on the 7th of September and has recovered well. The vet said she was very stoical.

Gracie would love to live with a family with responsible children over 5 and preferably another playful dog so she can carry on learning how to play. She’s very much a puppy still and has a lot of learning to do but whoever has her will enjoy taking her on the journey as she’s such a sweetheart.

Neutered 3 year old westie

Florence Nightingale

Florence is a very gentle 2.5 year old cockerpoo girl who loves to cuddle up next to her human on the sofa. Flo will lay her paw on your lap, place her head on her paw and gaze lovingly at you. She is a quiet girl who is still a little nervous of loud noises and strangers but will go up and give them a friendly sniff. Loves attention and likes to follow you around like a shadow. She often pushes her head into your hand if you are fussing another dog as if to say “don’t forget me”. She is clearly making up for any attention she has missed out on before coming into rescue. She’s very easy going and is taking everything in her stride, learning life is good living in a home with kind humans.

Flo has only met one child that is very dog savvy and knows not to make contact unless the dog seeks it. After initially being nervous she was interested enough to go up for a sniff and be smoothed. Flo would prefer children to be aged 8 and upward that understand that nervous dogs need time to settle and trust.

Flo would be better with another dog as she likes to cuddle up for reassurance and comfort. She has not had any problems with the dogs in her foster home. She is also in foster with a cat and has not shown any interest in him. She hasn’t met any other small animals.

Flo is very well behaved in the house and toilet training is on-going. She will use a puppy pad but still has a few accidents now and again but this is going in the right direction. Flo doesn’t use a crate except when she travels in the car. She sleeps either on her foster mums’ bed or on a dog bed next to the bed as she likes to be near to her human.
Flo currently has no interest in toys and relies on the foster dog in her house for confidence. She hasn’t yet been for walks as she awaits her second vaccination. Flo has a skin condition that will be discussed with any potential homes

Florence would suit a home with another dog for company and confidence. Flo may well be an active dog when she gains more confidence in her surroundings as she loves to trot around the garden and sniff at everything that is so new to her.

Flo loves company so would benefit from having someone home for a good amount of the day and a quiet home with not a lot of noise, as she is a little jumpy at the moment but this is improving. Flo would like her forever humans to give her a lot of attention when settled and be allowed to cuddle on the sofa. Potential adopters need to be aware that Flo is a little bit magical and one look into her lovely face and everyone will instantly fall in love with her and her gentle personality.

2.5 Yrs old Neutered Female

Quiet home with owners at home most of the time

Needs another dog for company and is fine with cats.

Children over 8 who are aware that Flo will need time to settle and not be crowded.

She has had her 1st vaccination is microchipped and up to date flea and wormer.

Florence also comes with 5 weeks free Agria pet insurance.

Our beautiful boy Oreo is looking for a very special long term foster home, along with his BFF Jasper.

They are both two years old and have been with us a little while now as poor little Oreo has been through the wars a bit. He has a long term issue with his penis not fully retracting so has to be cleaned very regularly. Then in June, our poor boy developed an internal abscess in his tummy and had to have a very big operation for such a very small chap. He’s well on the road to recovery but will need a close eye kept on him.

Despite all he’s been through, Oreo is a real sweetie, and along with Jasper they really are a lovely friendly pair of guinea pigs.  They are looking for a quiet loving indoor home so a close eye can be kept on Oreo and he can be kept nice and clean. In exchange for that, these two boys will keep you amused with their funny little ways and cute antics!

They will need as much room as possible – a spare room would be ideal with lots of tunnels and toys to keep them active and amused – as being typical boys they will scrap over food if kept in a small space!

Long term fostering means that FOAW will pay for Oreo’s vet fees and provide monetary help towards travel costs for his vet visits, but you will fund their day to day needs and must have access to a car so that you are able to take him to any vet appointments he may need. You will also be part of a team which will help with advice and support if and when you need it.

If you think you can give our two precious boys the special home they need, please fill in the fostering form at the end of this link: FOSTERING FORM

JEFF

Jeff is an American Bulldog X Lab puppy that is around 8 weeks old and has just had his first vaccination. He has no known health issues and is a very active puppy who loves contact with humans and the other animals in his foster home. He will settle well when left alone and sleeps in his puppy pen through the night in the kitchen. He is interested in everything but shoelaces are the preferred choice, however he also loves a cardboard box. Jeff is just a typical puppy who will need to continue his training in a large breed savvy home with children over the age of 10.

He will play with toys when you play with him but he will also play by himself. He is currently left for a couple of hours and will settle, but as soon as foster mum is home, he wants to be out with her and playing.

He is in a foster home with 2 dogs who will play with him but will also tell him off when they have had enough and he will leave them alone. He is also in foster with 3 cats that allow him to sniff but from a height.

As you can imagine house training is a work in progress and this will need to continue in his forever home. Jeff’s foster mum has already commented that she has noticed that he can be very stubborn hence the need for a large breed savvy home. Someone who is going to take him to puppy classes and teach him how to be a good big boy.

Jazz is an American Bulldog X Labrador puppy that is around 8 weeks old with no health issues who has just had his first vaccination. He loves to have contact with people and playing is his favourite thing. He is a puppy so enjoys exploring and investigating new things but his current favourite thing is shoe laces.

He loves contact with people; however, he is a puppy and will tend to try and play whenever contact is made. Jazz is just a typical baby who will need to continue his training in a large breed savvy home with children over the age of 10.

He is in a foster home with 2 dogs who will play with him but will also tell him off when they have had enough and he will leave them alone. He is also in foster with 3 cats that allow him to sniff but from a height.

Housetraining is a work in progress. He sleeps in a puppy pen in the kitchen at night and sleeps all night. Being a puppy, he will investigate anything he can, he will play with toys when prompted but also of his own accord. He gets left for a couple of hours and will settle but likes to be with his foster family as soon as they are home.

He has not been out yet due to only having had his first vaccination. Jazz needs to go to a home that has experience with large stubborn breeds who will continue his training and help him become the good big boy that he is meant to be. A family home with children over the age of 10 who have experienced with large stubborn dogs would be lovely. He would make a lovely addition to the right family.

Barack is a very handsome 18 month old French Bulldog with buckets of character. He is a love bug who craves adult attention and/or food! He has been in foster now for a few weeks and has grown in confidence and has turned into a  playful pup who loves snuggles on the sofa. He’s is going to bring so much love and happiness to the right home.

Barack came to foster after an operation to remove an obstruction (a fluffy toy) from his stomach. He was very underweight due to bad diarrhoea which is now under control from having a strict hypo allergenic diet. He is very food led which is useful for training and he has put on over a kg in 3 weeks.

Barack loves people and will look for attention. He loves cuddles on the sofa but also likes time on his own. He’s happy to be bathed and brushed. He’s very loving and will be easily trained as he is very food led. Barack is however very wary around children and will not be homed with children as he cannot cope in their company.

Barack would be better suited as an only dog as he needs further socialisation. He has shown interest in other dogs but has also been anti social to other dogs when out on walks so a French Bulldog savvy home would be preferred. Someone who knows the characteristics of the breed and can help him make doggo friends. Cats are not advised as he likes to chase them.

Barack wasn’t house trained when he arrived in foster but has quickly learned to go out in the garden to toilet and when on walks. He is not fully house trained yet but tends to use puppy pads if he can’t get outside in time.
He sleeps in a crate at night and after a couple of nights crying, he now settles as soon as the light goes out.
Barack destroys all his toys but the solid plastic bones keep him busy! He doesn’t know how to fetch yet but we’re still trying!
He has been left for a few hours at a time in my kitchen and has been fine after initial crying.

Due to Barack’s nature new owners must continue to work on his behaviour around food as he does like to wolf it down so is currently having 4 small portions a day.

Barack walks well on a lead when there are no distractions. He tends to pull on walks in busy places where there are lots of dogs.  He travels well in the car when on the front seat or in the back with company!

Barack is a playful pup who deserves a home where his human can give him lots of attention and continue his training. He is a quick learner and responds well to treats (his food). Barack needs patience and clear boundaries. He is very loving and affectionate and loves to cuddle up on the sofa. He enjoys his twice daily walks and would suit an active family.

Freddie is a 1.5 to 2 year old neutered male pointer that requires a special home. You see gorgeous boy Freddie has been diagnosed with Epilepsy! But let’s not feel sad or put off by this as he’s on medication and it is under control. Freddie is a very happy and gentle boy. He’s like any other dog loves his walks, his bed and his sleep. He loves his toys and loves nothing better than throwing his rope toys or ball around and is quite happy entertaining himself and his foster mum with his antics. At the end of the day he’s happy to take himself off to bed where he is out for the count. His foster mum says he’s a little poppet, he not a needy pointer, he’s more independent than his namesake and more like a lab or beagle in his temperament. Freddie loves his foster sister Mabel and often grooms her. However, he does require more socialising with male dogs therefore, a home with another bitch or on his own is preferred. He can be a little wary of new people and looks for support and comfort from his human. He’s a special boy who needs an understanding home who has the time to keep him in his routine for his medication which currently costs around £50 a month

Neutered male 1.5-2 years old

Good with female dogs needs more socialising with males

No cats

Active adult only home or home with older children

Has Epilepsy with meds costing around £50 a month (There are options with this)

Adopters would be expected to travel to Warwickshire to meet Freddie

Say hello to Tom (AKA Elvis by some due to his rather impressive sideburns!).

When he first came into us he was a very scared little boy, having had no human interaction and picked on by other rabbits.  With time and patience, he’s really coming out of his shell and with Foster Mum taking the time to feed him by hand, he is starting to relax and grow in confidence.

Tom really hasn’t had the best start to life.  He is 3 years old and now needs to find his forever home with a loving wife bun to help him realise that being a rabbit can be fun.  We are determined to find him the fabulous home he deserves.

Tom is now fully recovered from his physical wounds of being picked on and is ready to find a special friend and perfect forever home to continue his progress with humans who love him.  Our experienced Fosterers will be pleased to advise and assist with the bonding process. He is neutered and fully vaccinated.

He would make some bun the perfect friend so if you are looking for that special bun for your girl bun, then complete an Adoption Form by clicking this link: ADOPTION FORM

Look at this pair of gorgeous oldies!  Ted and Milly are looking for a LONG TERM FOSTER HOME as they are both at least 8 years old and have on-going medical issues.  Long term fostering means that FOAW will pay all their vet fees and provide monetary help towards travel costs to vet visits, but you will fund their day to day rabbity needs and must have access to a car so that you are able to take them to any vet appointments they may need.

We certainly think these two have a good few years left in them!  They are both full of fun and are thoroughly enjoying life together.

Milly is happy to sit on a lap and be stroked and brushed – she’ll grind her teeth with happiness and even give you a groom if she thinks you need one.  Ted doesn’t mind a stroke either.  They both love free roaming round the garden with Milly usually running off exploring and Ted sedately wandering around after her!  They are excellent hay eaters and are experts in rolling treat balls to get nuggets out.  They will both come running up if they spot a human – for love of course, nothing to do with the off chance there might be a treat!

Milly is a very determined escape artist!  There’s no skill involved – if she decides she wants to get somewhere, she’ll simply jump or barge her way through!  Ted just watches her go…. He knows she’ll be back for a snuggle when she’s investigated enough.  These two met each other in later life and Ted didn’t have such a settled life as Milly so he’s a bit more quiet and wary.  However, Milly is showing him how to find his inner rabbit now that they are together and we think he will continue to blossom in his forever foster home.

So, let’s talk about their health issues.  At 8 years old, they are both actually pretty fit and healthy and their medical issues are well under control.  Ted has arthritis and has daily Metacam, with Milly having daily eyedrops for dry eyes.  Medication costs are covered by FOAW – all you have to do is administer and both are good patients not making a fuss with their daily treatments.  A careful eye needs to be kept on Ted’s coat, particularly around his rear end as, due to his arthritis, he has problems reaching some of his nether regions!  And while Milly has litter training ‘down to a T’, old boy Ted isn’t quite there so it’s puppy pads to the rescue.  Both are fully vaccinated and neutered.

Foster Mum absolutely adores this wonderful pair but she knows there is a special home out there who can give them the love and care they deserve in their twilight years.

If you think you can give Ted and Milly the forever foster home they deserve, please complete a Fostering Form by clicking this link: FOSTERING FORM

Apple is a beautiful 4 year old beagle with no known health issues that has recently been rescued from a puppy farm. She is desperate to trust people but currently is a bit unsure of the world so sticks with the other dogs in her foster home for support. She is such a gentle soul who with time and patience will turn into a typical cheeky beagle. She has already worked out when it’s feeding time and sits and waits (at a distance) for her food, and is much more comfortable with her foster carer. Apple loves the other dogs and wags her tail when they try and play with her

Apple is a puppy farm dog who sadly hasn’t had lots of interaction with people or been in a home setting so understandably she is shy and nervous. She has such a gentle nature and she will let you stroke her but currently prefers to be with the other dogs so any prospective owner should have experience of dealing with puppy farm dogs to give her the time and space to gain her confidence. She would suit a home with older children or adults only

Apple loves the other dogs in her foster home as they give her so much confidence. She will need at least one resident dog in her new home. She has started to play with the others and explore the garden so is getting braver every day. Apple travels well in a car, she is currently too timid to go on walks so will need to gain confidence before this is attempted as if she’s scared, she could try and bolt which is too risky for a puppy farm dog so she is currently being lead trained in the house and garden. A secure garden is going to be a must for Apple to explore and gain confidence with her new family.

Apple currently lives with a cat and ignores him totally

Apple is a timid soul who needs someone home the majority of the day to encourage her confidence and get her used to being a loved pet. She is a typical beagle and is already figuring out where treats are kept and which is the food cupboard so any new owners ideally would be beagle experienced as we don’t think it will be long before she is much more confident and beagles can be very food motivated. Apple doesn’t currently know what toys are and needs time to get used to her new world outside the puppy farm

Apple is a wonderful dog whose cheeky nature is already poking through the scared exterior. She can live with male or female dogs, is fine with cats and can be left for short periods but would be best suited to a home where someone is around for most of the day as she needs to grow in confidence with her forever humans and have lots of positive experiences with them. Apple is going to make the gentlest girl for someone, she just needs time and patience and someone to teach her the outside world is so much better than the puppy farm she’s known all her life

Potential adopters would need to travel to Crewe to meet Apple

Apple comes with free 5 week Agria insurance

Neutered female 4 years old

Needs another dog for company but is fine with cats

Older children and someone who ideally works from home

Beagle and puppy farm knowledgeable family

Up to date flea, wormer and is microchipped.

Saffy ***ADOPTED***
118814522_10158511665979346_278442909416346591_n

Saffy is a 3 year old beautiful French bulldog x terrier who has no known health issues. She loves people but can be unsure to start but soon makes friends. Due to this we feel she would be best suited to a home with older children or adults only. She is more than happy to be touched and groomed when she knows you.

Saffy lives with other dogs in the foster home but would much prefers to be the only princess at home with her with people. She is starting to be confident enough to play but would much prefer her own space with some dog friends to go walking with. Saffy is looking forward to bonding with her forever family and be relaxed without other dogs to compete with

Saffy lives with a cat and was barky at him to begin with but is now fine, due to her being a terrier x she would be best suited with no small animals in the home

Saffy is such a good girl in the home, if she gets the opportunity to get up on a window sill she will bark at passing people/dogs but is learning she doesn’t need to do that and with consistent owners she will improve further. She is fine to be left for short periods and is great at getting in her bed when she knows you are leaving. She loves toys, anything with a squeaker doesn’t last long around her!

Saffy loves going out, she will bark at other dogs initially but this is improving daily and with owners prepared to work with her on her confidence she will improve further. She hasn’t been off lead yet but has good recall on a long line training lead so her foster mum is sure she will be good off lead when confident in her new home

Saffy deserves a home that is going to give her time to settle in and be prepared to have a lot of laughs with her. She is such a funny loving little dog, she’s gained so much confidence around other dogs in her foster home and she needs a home prepared to continue to give her positive dog experiences making friends so she learns she doesn’t need to bark when she sees other dogs she’s unsure of. She is such a lovely girl and will make someone the loveliest companion. Saffy would love a home with someone home the majority of the day.

Saffy has had her first vaccination is neutered, Microchipped and up to date with flea and worming treatment.

Potential adopters would be expected to travel to Crewe to meet her.

Reference Number – D20202-139

Name: Noodle

Age: 2 years old

Breed: Chow Chow

Fostered in: Berkshire

Health Issues: None

Noodle is great with humans, other dogs, and children. He a very smart boy, quick and willing to learn. He loves the outdoor life but loves to cuddle up inside with you too.

People: Noodle loves to be made a fuss of, but sadly was not groomed at all in his previous home. There for has disliked his matts being removed. And is slowly coming round to accepting his daily brush.

Can live with children: He lived with children in his previous home and was not a problem with either.

Can live with cats: Not sure about cats but has sat and watched the chickens in his foster home, they are much entertainment to him, and he shows no aggression towards them.

Can live with other dogs: Noodle is very balanced and a smart boy. He works out quickly who wants to play and who wants space and he honours both. He loves a good play and is very sociable.

In the home: Although given the opportunity Noodle would rather be outside, when in the home he is exceptionally good. He is house trained and not destructive. We have no need to use a crate with him, he sleeps downstairs with the rest of the dogs very happily. He is not interested in toys and is not food aggressive. There has been no aggression at all, over anything. He makes very little noise, typical of this breed. He has no separation anxiety at all and can be left.

Out and about: Noodles travels great now. We do not think he had travelled much before. He is just learning recall. He had had little or no training previously and did not even know his name. We have not seen a vet yet, but we see no problem as he is easing going.

Type of home: Noodle is a good boy and would settle in most homes. He could live with or without another dog. He will need a home that will continue with his training as he enjoys learning and is very clever.

Noodle is neutered and has had his first vaccination; he is up to date with flea and worming treatment.

Potential adopters would be expected to travel Berkshire to meet him.

I come with five weeks free Argia Pet insurance.
