NEEDS TO BE AN ONLY CAT

CAN LIVE WITH DOG SAVVY CHILDREN
WOULD LIKE OWNERS TO BE AROUND MOST OF THE TIME FOR CUDDLES
Stella is an 8 year old Ragdoll/Burmese cross described by her foster mum as a gorgeous, beautiful, affectionate cat with a colourful character. She loves company and a good head rub, and certainly lets you know when she’s hungry. She has a gentle nature and is very loving. Her cross eyed blue eyes add to her cheeky charm.
Her vet history will be discussed with potential adopters
Stella loves her food but has a sensitive stomach so is on a high protein (no grain) diet which she loves and is very settled.
Stella loves her humans to be around as much as possible so she can have lots of fuss and attention. She is a very gentle cat and would be fine with cat savvy children.
As Stella thinks she’s a bit of a princess she would like to be the only cat in the home. This way she can give as much love as she receives.
She has been around dogs and has been fine so cat savvy dogs would be fine.
Stella would need to be an indoor cat or have access to catio which gives her the taste of being outside whilst keeping her safe and she loves this.
Stella would like a home where she is the only cat with owners who are around for most of the time. She is not destructive and knows the house rules. She is a joy to have around and will tolerate dogs. She can live with cat savvy children and just wants to feel safe and be adored.

NEED A SUPER ACTIVE HOME WITH A FAMILY WILLING TO PUT TIME INTO THEIR TRAINING AND FUTURE.
Zara and Autumn are 10 month old fox red Labrador puppies described by their foster mum as crazy active. These pair will make amazing dogs in the right home but that home has to be prepared to work with them and give them a job. These are not puppies who will cope with 30 minute walks twice a day these pair need to be out all day climbing mountains, hunting squirrels and if they were old enough helping you train for your London marathon.
They have had very little training so we recommend a home with active dog experience who will enjoy turning these over excited, bouncy fur babies into well mannered, obedient fur babies. They are both keen to learn and are food orientated which is always handy for training.
We are currently trying to run their little legs off in a controlled manner to be able to start with basic commands but all they have managed to do is get foster mum to drop 2 dress sizes and thinking even she can run the London marathon this year with ease.
They are both crate trained but living in a house is new to them so toilet training and the house rules are all a work in progress.
These girls need understanding, experienced and patient forever homes who will help them adjust from living in a stable with very little guidance to well rounded, happy and active fur babies. Helping these girls in the beginning is going to be hard work and you are going to need eyes in the back of your head but the effort you put in will be so rewarding. To see them happy, active and safe in a loving forever home is all we want.

OLDER DOG SAVVY CHILDREN
NOT CAT TESTED
NEEDS AN ACTIVE FAMILY WHO CAN HELP HER BECOME THE PRINCESS SHE WAS ALWAYS MEANT TO BE
Stella is 6 Year old Cocker Spaniel described by her foster mum as a confident dog with a lovely temperament who is pretty content in her own skin. She loves a good cuddle on the sofa and when you’re not cuddling, she will be right by your side as your shadow. If you leave the room for two minutes and come back in she is so excited to see you- watch out for the very waggy tail- it can cause whiplash.
Stella has a crate but very rarely uses it during the day, she does sleep in it at night. She is happy to cwtch on the sofa when she wants to rest. She has been left for a few hours and hs been fine but watch out for that tail when you return.
Stella only tends to bark if someone knocks the front door, other than that she seems such a content dog.
Vet history will be discussed with potential owners.
Stella is confident around people. When out on a walk she will try to go and say hello to everyone. She has engaged with children of all ages, from toddlers through to teenagers and is happy to be fussed over and has such a gentle and calm nature about her.
Not cat tested
Stella is toilet trained and good in the home. She loves the run of the garden and has a good sniff at all the plants.
She loves to go walkies and when you pick up her lead, she does about a million 360 degree turns in her excitement and scratches at the front door. She does pull on the lead but this is due to probably very little experience on one before she came. She wants to explore and sniff everything in her path. She has not been let off the lead yet.
Stella has been out to meet her adoring public and has had a trip to a dog friendly eating place where she was quite content to lie at her foster mums’ feet and watch the world go by.
Stella would be happy in any home and would make a lovely family pet. She just needs someone who is prepared to give lots of cuddles and fuss her. She does love to go out a few times a day so someone who is prepared to do that. She is pretty active and is quite strong on the lead.

WOULD PREFER TO BE AN ONLY DOG
ADULT ONLY HOME
NO CATS
ACTIVE FAMILY AS HE LOVES WALKIES AND THEN ENJOYS CUDDLES OF THE SOFA TO RECHARGE HIS BATTERIES
Buddy is a 4 year old Cocker Spaniel described by his foster mum as a lovely boy who adores the attention of his humans just as much as he loves going for walks and then returning home for a cuddle on the sofa to recharge his batteries.
Buddy is happy in the home as long as someone is with him and enjoys following you around. He doesn’t like being left on his own for long periods. He enjoys his food and will take treats gently. He sleeps quietly in the kitchen overnight in his foster home but would prefer to sleep in a dog bed in the bedroom if possible. He’s clean and dry during the day but has had the odd accident overnight but that is to be expected as it’s all new to him.
Buddy would like an adult only home with no young visiting children but older teenaged children or grandchildren would be fine.
No cats please as he will chase.
Buddy loves going for walks and his tail doesn’t stop wagging the whole way. He is happy to walk with other dogs but is equally happy to go off exploring with just his human. He travels well in the car and was perfectly behaved at the vets.
Buddy would like an adult only home with no visiting small children. He would prefer to be an only dog but would be happy to meet up with friends for a lead walk. He would prefer his owners to be home most of the time but would be happy if they worked from home and he could be in the room with them supervising

Introducing the Welsh Guards who are 11 week old male schnauzer cross poodle puppies
The puppies are very brave, very outgoing and have had good basic socialisation. All love to play and they definitely love to cuddle.
House training, manners and basic commands are all a work in progress but in the right homes these babies will flourish. They have had a lot of human interaction and are now ready to thrive in the right homes. They need patient and loving pawrents who can offer positive encouragement to be well rounded puppies and rescue ambassadors.
They are not cat tested but are young and with sensible owners should integrate into being cat lovers too. All can be homed with dog savvy children.
We are going to be inundated with applications so you are going to have to bear with us. OLDER CHILDREN WHO WONT EXPECT HER TO PLAY
LOVING HOME WHO ARE LOOKING FOR A BEST FRIEND AND SHADOW.
Lacy is a 13 year old domestic short hair described by her foster mum as super affectionate but likes to rule the roost if you have other Cats. She is great in the home clean and polite and is currently enjoying a little wander up the garden for a sunbathe but never goes far.
Lacy’s favourite thing to do is to follow her foster mum around and disturb her when she is doing things so she can have some extra cuddles and fusses. She sleeps all night in foster mums room and doesn’t snore.
She doesn’t like cuddling but is always really close. She’s not a cat that likes to play she just likes to be close to her human or asleep.
She’s not really fussy on other cats and says they get in the way or her and her human. She will tolerate them being in the house but she will put them in their place preferring to be top cat.
She has not seen any children and we are unsure how she would react so would recommend older cat savvy children who will allow her to be close but not have any expectations to play.
She loves a good chat over some tea and biccies but the conversation can be a little one sided, she is however a really good listener.
She loves a bit of cooked chicken, in fact foster mum thinks she can tell the time because whenever she starts to prepare dinner she’s there waiting and asking if she can help
Lacy would like a home where she can be an only cat and best friend to her human. She loves all the attention you can give and has been a perfect house guest.

AT LEAST ONE OTHER DOG IN THE HOME
OLDER DOG SAVVY CHILDRE
NOT CAT TESTED
TRIXIE IS A WORK IN PROGRESS AND NEEDS A LOVING AND PATIENT FAMILY WHO WILL WORK WITH HER TO ENCOURAGE HER OUT OF HER TIMID SHELL.
Trixie is a 6 months Old English sheepdog described by her foster mum as a very frightened little girl. She is mainly scared of people and new places. She’s is however excellent with other dogs. She’s taken a week to come out of her shell and feel safe in her environment. She has learnt what a sofa is and is happy to get up onto it for a cuddle
She is currently too scared to walk out the door but can be carried to the car and is getting used to going in the car if she needs to go to the vet etc. So far, she has only been out for 3 walks but this will come with time and patience in the right home.
She is scared of new people as in she does not want to be that close and takes time to assess if you can be trusted. She is now slowly coming around and will let you sit quietly next to her and is comfortable with gently being touched and stroked.
She has meet children and is not aggressive towards them but has just never seen any before coming into foster so is afraid of them. We would recommend a home with no children or with older dog savvy children who will allow her the time and space to decompress
Trixie is not cat tested but is young.
She had to be shaved when she came into foster due to her coat being extremely matted. As this grows she is going to need regular grooming and an understanding groomer if using one.
She is toilet trained and has not had any accidents in the house. She will chew if left alone as she becomes anxious in her alien surroundings.
Trixie is a work in progress and is going to take time to decompress, feel safe and more importantly feel loved. She is going to need interaction at her pace and may take a few steps backwards on that road to recovery.
Trixie need a loving and patient home with at least one other dog for confidence and reassurance. She will be an amazing addition to the right family who are willing to work with her to help her flourish.

CONFIDENT RESIDENT DOG WHO WILL NOT OVERWHELM HIM
OLDER DOG SAVVY CHILDREN
NOT CAT TESTET
PATIENT BUT ACTIVE HOME WHO CAN SHOW HIM WHAT HE MISSED BY BEING A LOCKDOWN PUPPY
Rocco is an 18 month old King Charles Cavalier described by his foster mum as a truly adorable boy who has been affected through being a lockdown puppy. When he first arrived at his foster home he was unsure of the other dogs and would move away. He’s now starting to find them fascinating and wanting to join in with gentle interactions within his comfort zone. He is a licky little boy and loves to give his foster mum kisses but will also lick when he gets anxious and needs reassuring. Rocky totally adores balls and although he doesn’t bring them back, if you don’t mind collecting it yourself, he will let you throw it for him over and over and will bark in excitement.
Rocco is not a big foodie and he needs to be encouraged to eat and drink.
Rocco can be nervous when he first meets new people and may be reluctant to come to you. He may take time to suss you out but once he does and he decides you are acceptable you will be his best friend. Once you have formed a bond, he likes to follow you around and stay close. Currently his favourite place to be is with his 2 legged foster sibling on his bed sleeping next to him whilst he plays on his Xbox. He also likes to sleep there at night and will sleep contently all night.
Roco is absolutely fine with foster mums 13 year old son and shares his bed to feel safe on but he knows to give Rocco space when he needs it. Rocco sometimes gets over excited and become chatty and mouthy so young children would not be ideal
Rocco has not been tested with cats
Being a lock down pup has made meeting people and other dogs scary but with time and reassurance he will definitely learn to trust. He is fully toilet trained and loves being close to his humans snuggling on the settee above your head or on the bed is where he is at his happiest in the home. He quite often will take himself off to bed in the evenings and settle down to stay there all night.
Rocco walks beautifully on the lead and is currently walked on a training lead in the park and his recall is coming on nicely. He is now meeting other dogs and learning about the outside world. He has met other dogs at the park and bark if unsure or scared of them but this is being worked on and is going to be a work in progress. Once he feels safe around other dogs, he is absolutely fine trotting alongside them. His new parents need to continue this positive interaction and choose which dogs he meets to help him grow in confidence. Rocco travels really well in car with no problems.
Rocco needs a home with a gentle confident resident dog that will give him space to adjust and not dominate or overwhelm him. He would benefit from a more confident laid-back dog that doesn’t mind sharing their humans but will also be happy to show him all the things that he finds scary are safe and fun. He would love an active home so he can be kept busy and experience the world he never got the chance to see through the pandemic

LOVING HOME WHO WANT A BEST FRIEND AND SIDE KICK
George is a 3 and a half year old Pug cross King Charles spaniel described by his foster dad as a very happy and confident dog who loves people. He thinks he is everyone’s top priority and can be a bit mean to other dogs. This behaviour is being worked on and will always be a work in progress if housed with other dogs. George is a really good listener and is extremely eager to please so any ongoing training won’t be that difficulty to do.
He eats and drinks well and has settled really quickly into his foster home finding his favourite spot on the sofa which is normally right by your side. He is very much a velcro/shadow dog who loves to follow you anywhere and everywhere.
As well as him wanting you to adore him, which isn’t difficult to be fair. He has been excellent on and off lead and is happy to walk as much as you like. He hasn’t really reacted or interacted with other dogs when out and about and seems quite happy knowing he is a special little man.
Vet history to be discussed with potential adopters
He is great with people and super friendly loving to be fussed and adored. He has also been great with gentle children and has been happy to be fussed by them.
He has not been cat tested
He is completely house trained and his current favourite thing to do is sit on the sofa watching the world go by. He will bark if he sees people passing the house but stops when told no.
Let’s be under no illusion he is no guard dog and is more likely to roll over for a tummy rub.
George would love a home where he could be the only dog, your best friend, side kick and shadow. He could live with another quiet dog but would need time to adjust. He would like daily walks to sniff and explore and a sofa to sunbathe on.

Tina and Tulip are 10 week old kittens described by their foster mum as being a little like chalk and cheese.
Tina is very playful and loves to chase everything including her siblings and the resident cats. She has now settled but it has taken a few weeks to gain her trust. She loves to be stroked and will roll over to have her belly tickled but she is not a fan of being picked up and tends to panic. This is being worked on slowly at her pace.
Tulip loves to play with her siblings and resident cats but is still quite timid of her foster family but this is getting better. She will however hide if new people come to the house and she needs to be allowed to take her time in coming out to say hello. She will allow us to touch her but panics when picked up so we only do it for very short periods and she is getting better
Both would be better with older children as they are nervous of being pressured to cuddle and play.
They are great with the other foster cats and resident cats in the home.
Tina is very playful and loves to either cwtch with her siblings or one of the other resident cats or will choose to cuddle up to foster mum for a cat nap.
Tulip likes to watch everything going on and appears to watch over her siblings but also enjoys a good run around and play even with the big cats.
This pair can be homed together or separate with another resident cat who will play gently and help them gain confidence. Patient owners who wont pressure them to be close and cuddle this will come in time. They have not had the best start and now need the time to unwind and adjust. Older calmer children who are patient enough to wait for the kittens to come to them.

NEEDS TO BE AN ONLY INDOOR CAT
OLDER CAT SAVVY CHILDREN
SHE’S ON OLDER LADY LOOKING FOR A RETIREMENT HOME WITH A SPECIAL PERSON
UNKNOWN HOW SHE IS WITH DOGS
Poppy is a 12 year old Maine-Coon mix who is incredibly loving and affectionate with her foster mum. Her favourite activity is curling up in bed at night with her foster mum, sitting on her lap and purring loudly. She sleeps in bed with her foster mum every night and cuddles up close for cwtches.
While she has a beautiful, fluffy, long coat and she is very good at taking care of it herself. Not much additional grooming is needed to make sure it stays in check. Despite her age she is very good at taking care of herself.
Poppy was very scared when she arrived and spent a lot of time hiding. However, by respecting her boundaries and allowing her to come out by herself a trusting loving relationship has developed. As she needs a lot of patience and understanding of her social cues, she would only be suitable with older, more understanding children, who could give her space to begin with.
She has not been tested with dogs but is very scared of other cats, so it is recommended that she is the only cat. That is also the reason why she is best kept indoors.
Poppy enjoys leading a quiet life of leisure, sleeping or prowling around different parts of her domain. She has very short munchkin legs so is unable to jump up on high surfaces. This means she can’t jump up on things like kitchen counters and get in too much trouble.
She isn’t particularly vocal, so she won’t be meowing and keeping you up. As an older cat she doesn’t have much interest in any toys, but she does love sitting on you for a fuss and a cuddle. She can also be quite possessive following you around the house.
Poppy would need a home with lots of space and hidey holes so she can be alone if she needs to be. She would benefit from an outside enclosed space or catio so she can enjoy outdoor time without roaming the neighbourhood.
Veterinary history will be discussed with potential adopters

OLDER DOG SAVVY CHILDREN
ACTIVE, TERRIER EXPERIENCED HOME WHO WILL SUPPORT HIS TRANSITION FROM FOSTER TO FOREVER HOME
Spot is a 5-month-old Jack Russel described by his foster mum as a perfect little adventure buddy that is full of fun and happy to be out exploring the world. He may not have had the best start but he has absolutely thrived in foster care with a variety of other dogs to play with and learn from cand is now an adventure dog by day and a sofa companion at night.
Spot loves toys, loves running off with your socks and loves getting a cuddle on the sofa or taking up space in bed just to keep you company. He isn’t a very big Jack but as typical of the breed he has bags of personality and so deserves a family of his own to continue to build his confidence and show him a lifetime of fun
Spot was very nervous and hand shy when he first came into foster but now loves people. He can sometimes be a little reserved when meeting new people but with gentle persuasion he is soon everyone’s friend. He is very affectionate and loves sitting next to you on the sofa or curling up at the end of the bed. He is such a loyal little pup who just wants to be where you are.
Spot is a very playful puppy who has never been mouthy however due to him being timid when he first arrived, he would suit a home with slightly older children but would fit into most home environments
Spot does currently live with a cat in his foster home, and although occasionally decides to be brave and chase the cat, he also spends more time running away from the scary cat that definitely isn’t scared of him so with a confident cat that would tell him off he would be fine, with cats likely to run he would get into mischief
Spot is a lovely little companion who follows you around the house to keep you company. He is cage trained and will happily run into his crate for a treat or chew and although he does sometimes bark for a few minutes if left he will settle down in his crate and sleep so would be fine to be left for short periods.
Spot is a puppy so will spend some of the day finding things to steal like socks, or washing pile treasures and loves doing a victory lap around the house when he has something in his mouth. As a terrier he does rag toys when given the opportunity and is a bed de-stuffer so gets blankets put in his soft beds currently to distract him from the stuffing
He loves the outdoors but can be timid on roads or walking in busy areas but loves fields and is very good off lead. He has been on lots of walks with many dogs and is a very inoffensive puppy outside in the big world. He loves following the other dogs and follows their lead for recall and energy levels so could walk with energetic dogs or older calmer dogs
He is very good in the car and likes watching the route through the window
Spot needs an active terrier savvy home who will continue to give him confidence to adventure and explore. He is such a lovely companion and would love a family of his own who are around most of the day. He is still a puppy so will need a home to initially work with him to help him settle into a new environment and be prepared to have patience if he is a little nervous to start or his housetraining initially goes backwards. Spot is a dog that likes to be with you so a home willing to let him sleep upstairs initially if needed and he would love a home with other dogs but for the right home without other dogs would also be considered.

Oscar is a gorgeous 8 year old Springer Spaniel described by his foster mum as a joy to foster. Initially overweight he has lost a massive 8 kg and has really enjoyed his exercise. He loves being out and about having a good sniff. He loves the beach and particularly likes it if you throw his ball for him. He is a typical spaniel who loves water and having his nose down sniffing out interesting things.
Veterinary history to be discussed with potential adopters
Oscar can live with sensible older children but doesn’t enjoy being crowded or cuddled too tightly. He is happy with a gentle fuss or preferably older children who will take him out and throw a ball for him.
No Cats as he likes to chase them
Oscar has been a joy to foster. He’s not destructive at all and is fully toilet trained. He loves his food so a close eye needs to be kept on his weight.
Oscar absolutely loves being outside. His favourite place to visit is the beach where he can have lots of off lead time sniffing and playing. He doesn’t go too far from you and checks back to see if you are still there.
Oscar would like an active home where he can be walked for at least an hour a day as well as lots of opportunity to go exploring in woods or beaches. He’s happy to share with another dog but that isn’t essential. He’d like a nice size garden to explore and lots of tasty treats. He’s ok to be left for short periods of time so someone who works part time or from home would be fine.

CAN LIVE WITH A CATS
OLDER DOG SAVVY CHILDREN
ACTIVE HOME WITH PATIENT OWNERS WHO CAN HELP HIS TRANSITION TO BE A CONFIDENT RESCUE AMBASSADOR
Hello everyone my names Sparky and I’m and 18 month old westie. I have come into foster through no fault of my own and although I’m a little confused at the moment in my new surroundings its very nice here. I’ve met loads of nice doggo friends who tell me my foster dad is a good person, I’m not quite sure about him yet despite him telling me how I’m a good boy and how handsome I am but I’m sure after a few more treats we will be besties.
I’m really good in the house and never go potty indoors. I love to play with toys with a human or all on my own throwing them around like a happy hound. As I’m a big boy now I sleep in my own bed overnight with my foster siblings and am good and quiet dreaming the night away about my new family that foster dad said he will find for me. My new foster family are teaching me basic commands and I’m getting there but sometimes I forget. I’ve never had so much attention before so I can be a little unsure when I get nervous. I do love it thought when they mix training with toys and treats.
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE going walkies and am very good when on the lead. When off lead I can get easily distracted by the good smells that are around and forget when my human is calling me. This big world outside the house is so exciting and I just can’t help myself. I’m good when meeting other dogs and people out walking but can be a little nervous of strange men so just give me time to work them out and I’m fine.
Foster dad asked me what type of forever home I would like and I said id like a home with an active family with older children who will be gentle to me and play football and fetch. A family who will take me on lots of walkies up the mountains, to the beach and to forests to see the allusive squirrel. I would like a brother or sister I can play with and learn from but could also live with a family on my own if someone was around all the time to keep me company. I want someone who will cuddle me in the evenings when we watch TV and tell me that I’m a good boy and am safe and that this is my forever home. I just want to be loved.

CAN BE AN ONLY DOG OR LIVE WITH ANOTHER HIGH ENERGY DOG
NO CHILDREN
COULD LIVE WITH CATS IF INTRODUCTIONS ARE DONE CAREFULLY
HE NEEDS A SUPER ACTIVE HOME OR WITH SOMEONE WHO DOES A DOGGY SPORT AGILITY, FLY BALL, CANICROSS ETC
Jax is a young 2 year 7 month Cocker cross springer described by his foster mum as a boy with a super amount of energy who also has a lot of focus. He is a very smart boy that learns quickly and is the type of dog that would love a job. He would suit someone who wants to do that little bit extra, maybe run, bike, ultra marathons or fell running. He would also be great with any high energy activities gundog training, agility, fly ball, canicross or man trailing. Best of all he loves the water so if all these sports could be done in the water too that would be an extra bonus. However, at the end of the day he still loves a good cuddle up on the sofa with his human after an exciting day.
He is good with people but can be slightly shy at first, a quick chat and a few treats and you will all be firm friends. Sometimes he over does it with his energy levels and likes to take himself off to his crate, which he sees as his safe space for a rest and to be alone. If he had a do not disturb sign, he would put this up and this is your que to let him be till he’s ready for his next adventure.
Jax is unsure around children and due to his high energy levels, we would not recommend he be homed with children
He has lived with cats, but they didn’t like him so were kept apart. There would need to be some work done if others were in the home with him.
Jax is fully house trained, is not destructive or vocal and is happy to sleep downstairs in his crate. He’s an affectionate boy and loves a cuddle but is also happy in his crate on his own when he needs a break. He will need a crate in his forever home as he sees this as his safe space.
He is very high energy and needs to get good regular long walks. He has good recall and adores the water using any opportunity to get in. He loves a toy but not a soft toy or this will have a very short life span, His fastest time so far is 3 seconds so soft toys be warned he will kill you quickly.
Jax needs a young high energy home with no children someone who is going to be his best friend and exploring partner. Someone that has time to teach him an extra activity or two maybe. He’s not so bothered by other dogs so could be an only dog, but given time his foster mum think he would bond if there was another dog in the house.

Romeo is a 5 month old West Highland Terrier who is a typical puppy, full of energy loves to play with his foster brother and sisters and loves a super fast zoomies around the house and garden. Every evening he has lovely cuddles with his foster mum and gives the best kisses and cuddles.
He loves his food and is currently being fed 3 times a day at the moment. He sleeps in a dog bed in the kitchen and sleeps all night dreaming of his adventures to come and new life.
Romeo’s vet history will be discussed with potential adopters.
He loves people and gets very excited at meeting everyone
Romeo hasn’t met any small children, and due to his energetic puppy behaviour and the fact he is still teething it would be better if he was homed with older children.
He hasn’t met any cats but as he’s young with careful introductions he should adjust. He did encounter a hedgehog in the garden one night and he did not like it one bit
Romeo is quite good in the home, is very inquisitive and can be a little destructive with toys if left too long on his own. He still uses a puppy pad at night.
He is still nervous when out and about and lead training is on going. He’s fine in the car just goes to sleep. He was fine at the vets and very good when in hospital
Romeo needs an energetic family with plenty of time to play and train him. He needs a doggy companion who also has lots of energy, he loves lots of cuddles and responds very well to praise

NEEDS A RESIDENT DOG OF A SIMILAR SIZE
OLDER DOG SAVVY CHILDREN
OWNERS WITH OES EXPERIENCE
PATIENT PAWRENTS WHO WILL HELP HER BECOME THE DOG SHE WAS ALWAYS MEANT TO BE
TO BE ADOPTED ON A NEUTERING AND TRAINING AGREEMENT
Cottontail is an 18 week old, Old English Sheepdog who came to us as unsold puppy. She arrived shut down and scared having never known anything about the outside world, everything is new to this sensitive and affectionate girl and she has made remarkable progress in her foster home. However, she still has a long way to go before the world stops being such a scary place and she can become the confident, happy dog she was always meant to be.
Cottontail absolutely loves meeting people, men, women and teens and she is incredibly affectionate with everyone. She can be a little nervous and skittish at first but when you crouch down and speak to her gently then she will come over and smother you with love. Given her background it’s pretty remarkable how much she adores her people.
Cottontail has only met teenagers and above, as she isn’t brave enough to go out walking on a lead yet she only meets visitors to her foster home and she hasn’t had a chance to see any younger children. My guess is Cottontail would adore children but she might be nervous of, and startled by any sudden noise or movement at first, over time this would improve. However, I wouldn’t recommend her being homed with very young children as she is big and clumsy and would easily knock them over. We recommend gentle dog savvy kids 12 and up would be best for her.
Not tested with cats or small furries
She was frightened of everything and reluctant to interact at first but she has made remarkable progress and is beginning to show us the mischievous, bouncy, affectionate and sometimes naughty puppy that was hidden under the scared layers. New experiences and sudden noises still startle her and she may cower, bark or run to her safe space but over time and with patience and kindness from her forever home these incidences should become less and less.
House training has been incredible, she seemed to get the concept in just a couple of days which is remarkable for her age and background, there is still the odd accident and she’s still just a baby so may regress or forget sometimes in a new home with new routines but this clever girl should catch up again in no time.
She currently sleeps through the night on a sofa in her own room, my feeling however is that she wouldn’t mind sleeping with a dog buddy to cuddle up to or her people nearby, she is so loving and affectionate she just loves company. She is obviously still just a pup so hasn’t been left by herself for long, an occasional hour at most, she does fuss and cry at first but does eventually settle. She has just learnt what toys are and is now the proud owner of her own stuffed monkey and a ball which she loves to pounce on in the garden as you kick it for her. She now has a very healthy appetite she loves her treats and is putting on weight slowly. She has also experienced her first bath which she wasn’t fond of but tolerated it well and she has quickly got used to a regular brushing of her very thick coat.
Cottontail has had a lot to learn since arriving in foster and has made amazing progress, however she isn’t ready yet to take that step of going out into the big wide world for walks although we are working on it very slowly by getting her used to a harness, collar and lead around the garden. The area around the foster home is very busy with lots of traffic and people and the feeling is she would do a lot better and probably be braver in a much quieter location-edge of town/rural/semi-rural. She is a dog who would benefit from wide open spaces. Her new people will need to encourage her into exploring the world outside her home by being patient, kind and using reward-based training.
Cottontail is looking for a kind, patient home with new parents who will understand that she hasn’t had the best start in life and still has lots of catching up to do. They will need to be committed to her ongoing training using only positive methods that will benefit this sensitive dog and help her learn to be the best canine citizen she can be. She will need people experienced with Old English Sheepdogs who already have a kind and tolerant resident dog of a similar size who can help teach this young lady about the wonders of being a dog in a home where she is adored. She will need a good size garden to bounce around in with her ball and she would benefit from living in a fairly quiet area with lots of open space for walks and fun.

Benjamin is a 7 year old wire hair teckel dachshund described by his foster mum as an affectionate boy who loves lots of fuss and attention from people. He is also happy to accept visitors’ attention and is very gentle when taking food or treats.
He has been enjoying playing fetch in the garden and is generally happy playing with soft toys. He is fully house trained and is happy to go in a crate when unattended settling down, and is happy to be left.
Benjamin has met older dog savvy children (12 and over) and has been very gentle taking treats from them. He isn’t protective over food or toys and will allow you to take them away.
It’s not advised that he be homed with cats or any small furry creatures.
Benjamin is a calm dog when in the home and gets excited to see people when they come home.
He loves going for walks and gets very excited walking well on the lead. He does pull a little when out but with a bit more training and time he will learn to walk alongside you.
He is not keen on meeting other dogs but enjoys a good run up the woods (on a training lead).
Benjamin needs someone who will give him lots of cuddles and attention, he would suit being an only dog with someone who has time to train him to walk on the lead a little better and help with his reaction to other dogs.

NEEDS AN ACTIVE HOME WILLING TO PUT IN THE TIME AND EFFORT TO HELP HER BECOME THE DOG SHE WAS ALWAYS MEAN TO BE.
Coco is an 8 Month old cocker spaniel cross described by her foster mum as a delightful, energetic, inquisitive pup. She enjoys zooming around the garden with the resident dog and loves to play with her toys. She can be likened to the Duracell Bunny as she gets very excited greeting her foster Mum and when getting ready to go out for a walk. She is an absolute bundle of fun and brings a smile to your face as she is so endearing.
She knows basic commands such as sit and stay which need to be reinforced in a positive manner. Out and about she responds to her name and using a long lead she will come when called and sit for a treat. Coco would benefit from puppy training classes as she loves the stimulation and needs to have her brain kept active.
She enjoys being brushed and made a fuss of. She loves everyone that comes to the home but is still learning how to greet people nicely. With her long legs she can jump quite high so this needs to be discouraged.
She is not cat or small furry tested
She can be homed with dog savvy children as due to a lack of previous training and shark puppy teeth it would be unwise for her to be placed in a home with young children.
Coco is toilet trained and will sit at the door if she needs to go out. She has been left for short periods and is crated which she dislikes but it’s for her own safety and to give the resident dog a break as he sometimes finds her ott! She has a large assortment of toys which she loves to play with but gets quite anxious when foster Mum leaves the room or goes out which is being worked on.
She isn’t particularly food orientated but enjoys treats and responds well to praise. She currently sleeps upstairs with her foster Mum but in her own bed.
Coco loves to go for a walk and is very inquisitive about the outside world. She is quite nervous of sudden noises and hesitant meeting new people and other dogs but everyone that meets her remarks how stunning she is and consequently she is learning to be gently stroked. After her initial enthusiasm Coco walks quite nicely on a lead and harness. She has only travelled to the vets in the car and used a car harness successfully. At present she is being walked twice daily – once with resident dog and once on her own to help her build confidence.
Coco could be an only dog in an active home with people prepared to put in time and consistency with her training or live with another active dog. Due to her energy, acrobatic skills and her tendency to puppy nip she is best placed in a home with older children. She has only been left for short periods.

Jemima is a 3 year old miniature Schnauzer described by her foster mum as a beautiful, happy little girl who is now living the life, that she always should have. She loves her daily walks with her two Schnauzer companions and becomes her most confident around other dogs. It is amazing to see how happy she has become with her tail wagging so much, sniffing everything in sight.
She has a gentle and kind temperament and is fully house trained. She is the perfect companion. She needed to be shaved when she came into foster but her eyebrows have already started to grow back and once her trade mark beard regrows she will be the picture perfect Schnauzer.
You can see that Jemi is still wary of people when she first meets them, however you can also see she is curious and wants them to gently stroke her. Once you have gained her trust it will be endless belly rubs.
Jemi has been in the company of children of all ages and is very happy. I would not recommend a family home with young children, due to the fact that she would be nervous of excited behaviour and noises.
We have not met any small animals or cats as yet.
Jemi is quiet and gentle around the home and has fitted into family life so well. She does not leave foster mums’ side when she is cooking, patiently waiting for her share, especially roast chicken.
Her confidence has grown outside of the house and she readily awaits her daily walks. She is confident in a number of surroundings from roads, parks and the countryside.
Jemi would complement any household but foster mum would advise older dog savvy children as she is still learning the ways of a loving home. She has shown how adaptable she is and is a pleasure to have in the family.

Buster is a 10 month old Dachshund cross terrier described by his foster mum as a bundle of energy who is into everything and full of mischief. His little sausage side comes out when he initially meets people and he likes to tell them all about himself and how special he is in the only way he knows how which is by barking. Once he has told you all about himself he soon settles and likes to smother you with sausage snogs. He is very affectionate.
Buster is very good with other dogs who will play with him and keep him out of mischief. He may get on an older dogs nerves as his terrier side is very tenacious, determined and courageous. His house training and general training is a work in progress. He loves his food and is motivated by treats which always helps with positive training.
He currently sleeps in a crate at night and settles quickly dreaming the night away thinking of hunting and squirrels until breakfast. Buster has lovely clean teeth and is very gentle when taking food or treats from you.
Buster is very playful and loves all the attention he can get. He also likes to play with toys but as yet hasn’t worked out what fetch is. Buster responds well to his name and most of the time will sit when told to.
Buster is good on walks and currently gets 3 walks a day to help with his high energy levels. He is good to travel in the car but needs to be secured with a harness and doggy seat belt or he might offer to help drive and he’s too young to have a licence.
Buster is not cat or small furry tested
Buster is a gorgeous little dog and will make a lovely pet in a super active household. He needs owners who want an adventure buddy and is willing to put in the time to train him and help him become the dog he was always meant to be. Well its completely true of the saying that “all good things come in small packages” and Dutty Dai certainly ticks that box. He is his foster mums shadow and loves to be the centre of attention. If foster mum is sat on the sofa having a cup of tea then Dai wants to be there with her sat as close as possible and if there are biscuits with the tea then he likes them dipped in your tea but not too soggy pls.
Dai is a super happy boy when he gets to know you and loves to lick your hand or give you a cheeky peck on the face. He likes an afternoon nap on the sofa close to foster mum while she catches up on her soaps. He also sleeps with foster mum on her bed snuggled up in a blanket all night.
Dai loves his food but dur to his poor start in life he had to have a lot of teeth removed and only has 4 teeth left but this does not stop him from enjoying every morsel. Due to his size and love of food this will need to be watched.
Dai being the handsome young man that he is prefers women over men and bonds to the ladies quickly he just needs to work out if men live up to his standards of being gentlemen and will give him time to work it all out.
Dai has not been cat or small furry tested.
Dai’s toilet training is a work in progress and he will need to be guided out to toilet often until he is in a routine. Positive praise and treats are also a winner. Dai doesn’t yet play with toys but is learning to enjoy home comforts rather than a draughty shed.
Dai has not been out on walks yet and lead training will need to continue in the secure garden with his new fur brother or sister so he gains confidence from his owner and fur sibling.
Dai living in a loving home is something new to him and his new pawrents will need to be patient and understanding. He has come a long way in his foster home and is now ready to take those new small steps and is dreaming of the big adventures to come. He needs a quiet home where his pawrents can invest time in him and help him become the little man he was always meant to be. LOVING PAWRENTS WHO WILL HELP JILL BE THE DOG SHE WAS ALWAYS MEANT TO BE
Jill is a 7 year old Westie described by her foster mum as a super little dog who is very pretty with a funny little character. She adores her humans and loves attention. She gets especially excited when her humans come home by jumping around and trying to give little kisses. She’s a very affectionate little dog with lots of love to give and just adores company.
Jill loves her food and does a little happy dance while she waits. She needs to be fed using a slow feeder and away from other dogs as she’s a little greedy.
Jill currently enjoys an afternoon nanna nap where she dreams of chasing squirrels and her forever home. Jill likes to rearrange any blankets or fleece on the sofa and if not careful will drink your coffee when you are not looking.
Medical history to be discussed by potential adopters
Jill absolutely loves people and can be quite demanding of their attention, literally walking over other dogs to be first in line for attention. She’s not aggressive in any way but will need to be firmly told No and be made to wait with the other dogs and not expect to be always first in line.
Jill has been in the company of children who were near but didn’t fuss her. She was quite laid back and not fazed by them. I think children used to having dogs around and know to give them space when needed will be okay
Jill lives with a cat in her foster home and although interested in watching him she hasn’t attempted to chase him. Jill hasn’t met any other small animals.
Jill is very clean around the house and will use the garden to toilet. She loves to doze on the sofa with the other dogs or next to her human watching tv. Jill currently sleeps on her foster mums bed.
Jill hasn’t been out and about yet. She has travelled in a car to the vets and quite happily settles in the car with her doggy friends secured by a doggy seat belt. She’s a little nervous at the vets and can shake a little and look very shut down but this is getting better as she gets used to the big world outside.
Jill needs a quiet home where people are around most of the day. Jill being the princess she is she’d expect to sleep on your bed and be allowed on the sofa as she’s not a floor type of girl. She needs a resident dog or two who would keep her company and show her the outside world is a fun place to explore.

OWNERS HOME MOST OF THE TIME AND CAN HELP TURN THIS SPECIAL GIRLS LIFE AROUND
Yara is a 6 year old Pomeranian described by her foster mum as a nervous girl who needs time and patience to get to know you. Her life has changed dramatically and it will take her a while to settle. When she first arrived in foster she was super nervous but day by day she comes out of her shell and it’s a joy to see her slowly changing. Once she knows you she will come to you for attention and a cuddle especially if you have treats.
Medical history will be discussed with potential adopters
Yara was underweight when she first arrived in foster but luckily with good food and regular meals, she has gained her weight and is clearly feeling much better. In fact, she’s now feeling so well that she tries to steal everyone else’s food so this will need to be watched in her forever home. We are confident it will calm down once she knows that food is regular and her new pawrents love her.
she loves treats
Yara is super clever and is very treat orientated so basic training is coming along slowly. There are good and bad days just like training any dog but she is a happy girl and loves positive praise and reassurance.
Yara loves people when she knows they are not going to hurt her so we would recommend that she be homed with older dog savvy children who can give her the space when she needs it.
Yara’s house training is a work in progress so regular trips to a secure garden for toilet breaks is a must. Followed by positive reassurance and a nice treat. Were confident that once she is in a routine with pawrents who are focused on her future she will come on in leaps and bounds
Yara loves sleeping on any soft area including her foster mum’s crochet. Currently Yara sleeps on foster mums bed. She will run upstairs to the bedroom but at the moment she doesn’t like coming down stairs and gets worried if you carry her so just take your time
Yara doesn’t like being alone so will need pawrents who are around most of the time. She has never felt love before and now that she knows people are rooting for her, she gets worried when they leave her. Her separation anxiety can be worked on once she has settled and gained some confidence.
There has been no lead training as she has not been confident enough. This can also be tackled once she has settled and can start in a secure back garden with just wearing a harness and lead. She travels well in a crate in the car and was a good girl at the groomers and when she has been to the vet.
Yara needs patient pawrents who are home most of the time and will dedicate themselves to her and her future. She needs a family who can turn this special girl from a worrier princess into a warrior princess. She needs to be homed with a calm resident dog who can show her the ropes and give her confidence. To be part of this girls life and watch her change and blossom will be so rewarding.

THIS IS TINSELS TIME TO SHINE AND SHE WILL DO THAT WITH THE RIGHT OWNER
Tinsel is a 2 year old poodle cross American Cocker described by her foster mum as a very loving princess once she knows you. Tinsel did not have a great start in life and it will take her time to adjust to the outside world and household noises. She would not be suited to a noisy or busy household.
Tinsel loves the two resident dogs in the home and looks to them for security and encouragement. She also enjoys cuddling up to them in a bed or on the sofa. She currently sleeps with her foster siblings on mums bed at night and sleeps all night.
Tinsel has started playing with the other dogs and is becoming curious around toys. Its clear to see that before long and with the right family she will start decompressing and leaving her worries behind. To see her coming out of her shell would melt anyones heart.
Tinsel loves her food and will take treats from you once she trusts you and knows you mean her no harm.
Tinsel is a little nervous when she first meets new people in the home but soon comes given a little time for her to work things out and she will be back for more attention especially when she known you give ear and belly rubs.
Tinsel will need a well-fitted dog harness and collar with two leads when out on her walks as she can get nervous of new noises and anxious when there are a lot of humans around. This is not the time to rush her to meet people she needs to feel safe with her fur siblings and owner and be allowed to gain confidence in her own time. Tinsel needs understanding pawrents who will encourage but not pander to her and she will soon find her paws.
Tinsel is great with gentle older children who understands that she sometimes needs a little time and space to work things out for herself.
Tinsel is great with the resident cat but has not been small furry tested
Tinsel travels very well in the car as long as she is secured with a harness and doggy seat belt, she does not like a crate.
Tinsel needs owners who are home for much of the day. A confident resident dog and a family who will encourage but not pander to her insecurities. LOVING PAWRENTS THAT WILL HELP HER ADJUST TO THE BIG WIDE WORLD AND BECOME THE PRINCESS SHE WAS ALWAYS MEANT TO BE
Fflur is a 7 year old Pomeranian described by her foster mum as loving but currently unsure of the surroundings she now finds herself in. She is new to living in a loving home but is adjusting well to all the creature comforts a warm comfy bed, regular meals and settee can bring.
Fflur is very clever and learns quickly. She loves her food and will wait patiently for foster mum to deliver the goodies. She is slowly learning to play and is coming out of her shell more and more each day.
Housetraining is a work in progress but if encouraged to visit the garden and given positive praise when she does well it will all click together soon. She is also adjusting to household noises and will occasionally show concern but all this is new and she just needs time. She loves being told how good she is and craves positive praise.
Fflur can be timid with men and needs them to allow her to make the first approach. New people in general can be quite scary so she must be allowed her own space until she decides that you won’t hurt her and only wants to be friends. However, when she realises you are friendly she shows so much love that she can brighten any room. She hasn’t had the best start in life but in the right home with the right family she will thrive and become the princess she was always meant to be.
Lead training is a work in progress and she is currently wearing a harness and lead in the garden gaining the confidence that it is there during good times and is not there to hurt her. She will need to live with another confident dog and once they are friends, she will gain so much confidence from them. Everyone needs a friend and the world is less scary when we have one.
Fflur has not been around many children so we would suggest older dog savvy children who will give her time to decompress and adjust
She is also not cat or small furry tested
Fflur travels well in a crate and settles down to sleep which is handy as she is going to need regular trips to the groomers and gentle grooming at home to maintain the beautiful coat that the groomer in our team has worked hard to improve since she came to us.
Fflur would like a home with another resident dog who can give her confidence and help her come out of her shell. She wants to live with someone who has the time to spend with her and praise and cuddle her when she has been good. All she wants is someone who will love her unconditionally. She needs someone that is home a lot of the time to help her settle and grow. Basically she now wants to a be a lady of leisure with servants who will wait on her paws and fluff.

Marley is a 13 year old typical Jack Russel male who knows what he likes which is snuggling next to his human on the sofa, going for daily walks and dreaming of when he used to go squirrel hunting.
Marley is as good as they come and is described by his foster mum as the Pawfect gentleman.
His medical condition will be discussed with potential adopters and full support given. His new Pawrents must be able to take him to one of the Maesglas veterinary centres if any treatment is needed.
Marley is fully house trained, loves his food and his bed and adores lots of cuddles. He doesn’t like to be over handled by young people as his days of ruff and tumble have passed him by but he likes to be close and will occasionally have a play if he is in the mood. After all he has nothing to prove now as he is just a special little man.
He likes to have a snooze in the garden close to foster mum if she is out there with the other dogs or pottering. After all the sun does make everyone feel a lot better.
He is a good lad on the lead enjoying a little stroll and sniff but is strong when he is first walked as he is excited to go and explore. He enjoys going to the coffee shop for a puppachino or just to admire the lady dogs passing by. Marley would be described as very peter pan like as h has just never grown up. Yes his body may be occasionally tired and he may need an afternoon nanna nap (don’t we all) but he is as sharp as a tack so don’t be put off by his age.
Marley needs a home with owners who will adore him. Who will take him for a daily leg stretch and sniff and generally just be his best friend as that’s all he wants is to be your best friend.
